Faith is spelled R-I-S-K. Are you willing to bet on what you can't fully control?

In this episode, we get real about what it means to build something meaningful in uncertain times—when the wind’s against you and clarity feels out of reach. Whether it’s starting a business, buying one, or simply showing up with purpose, we unpack how to move forward when the world feels foggy and the stakes feel high.

We talk through the gut-punch reality of risk, the power of perseverance, and the challenge of discerning between resistance from God versus a test we’re meant to push through. And we explore the truth: you don’t need perfect information to make powerful moves—you just need 80% and the courage to go.

You feel like you're always up against the wind. It sometimes is because God is trying to push you a different way and you know fighting it and Nicole brought up the point and I think it was Winston Churchill that said it that any kite needs wind resistance to fly and so how do you discern between God trying to resist you from doing something to go towards a path that he has better chosen for you?

versus the test of are you going to persevere and really catch that win?

so Tanner, a couple months ago, we did a podcast and we talked about Trump taking over and kind of where things were going. We kind of did our hypothesizing and stuff like that. Not to revisit that, but to talk about, but today we want to kind of talk about building a business in uncertainty.

So when we're trying to hypothesize what's going to happen and what was going on, we really don't know. So how do you take that uncertainty and grow a business or build a business or start a business? And so that's kind of area. I just kind of want to explore, get your thoughts on. Yeah. The first thing that comes to mind is Alex Hermosy talking about

Basically the premise of how we started this podcast is that no one has any clue what they're doing. We're all just trying different things to figure it out. Whether you're running a fortune 500 fortune 50 company or a startup, everyone's just trying to plug the puzzle pieces in. And I think finding solace in that uncertainty and making your own path. It's when you have the confidence in yourself to just go out and try things.

the opportunities are gonna be a lot more prevalent.

It's funny because I just had a conversation with somebody less than an hour ago about this, but he had some personal stuff happen, lost his business. He's been without a paycheck for the last 13 months. So he's starting, starting over fresh and he's like, I'm trying to do this. I'm trying to do that. And then this, but then this gets in the way. And, and I said, what's stopping you from putting out something today? What's stopping you from marketing today?

Like you've been doing this for 13 months. What's stopping you from doing this in the next 13 minutes? Like we get inside our own heads. We worry about, well, this politician did this or this politician, know, Republicans, the Democrats, the mayor, the city council, the governor, my boss. Like we start worrying about everybody else that we have zero control over.

We don't worry about the one person that we can control. I'm pretty sure we used this before, but it was on bigger pockets where the guy didn't know how to sell his car. He needed to sell his car. He broke it down in a series of five minute tasks. He's like, I know how to wash the outside. Let me go to the car wash and drive through and get a car wash. I know how to vacuum out the car, vacuum out the car. I know how to go buy a four cell sign, go buy a four cell sign. Know how to write my phone number on it, write my phone number.
