Washed in the Word
16 Joshua 24:1-33 "How’s Your Serve?"
We'd love to hear from you. Text us.
Our text today closes out our survey of the book of Joshua. Joshua 24 offers us a simple question: “How’s your serve?” Twelve times in eleven verses in the middle of Joshua’s final farewell the subject of serving the Lord crops up. Joshua made his decision, “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” The people now had to make their choice. That generation had stood with Joshua & had subsequently seen God do wonderful things, but now Joshua was going the way of all the earth & was not going to be there to prod them along. Each family, each individual Israelite must now decide if they would continue walking the path of faith & faithfulness. Friends, that is just where we are this morning. We may have obeyed well in former days, but the issue at hand is today. As for you & your house; right now: How is your serve?
