Liverpool Transfer Targets and Youth Development
Speaker 1Very excited to be with all of you guys today , happy to see all of you . What is going on ? Everybody , everybody . Look at me . I'm just bobbing and weaving right now . No , I'm just trying to get my chat window popped out here , but I see everybody in the chat Dan in there . What's up , dan Reese ? What up , reese ? How you doing , man ? You guys are absolutely amazing . Thanks for joining me in today .
Speaker 1Um , a lot of stuff to talk about , but not not a lot of stuff to talk about at the same time , right ? Um , as being a Liverpool supporter , we all know that . You know , deadline days typically aren't very exciting for us , right ? Uh , not necessarily deadline day in America , but I know it's getting close there in Europe . So , yeah , I guess the main thing that we can maybe talk about is maybe some transfer targets that we could look for in the summer , which seems like that's going to be more so . What it's going to be like the past handful of results , that result from last night , I think , is definitely something that we definitely need to talk about . Um , and then , of course , the games that are coming up and what that means for us and what we can kind of expect out of those and what we should be expecting out of those results and things like that . So I definitely want to dive into all of those things . Um , maybe some of the uh , the rumors that are flying around with other um , with other clubs and things like that , and you never know , liverpool may very well surprise us this , uh , this deadline day , and we may see something that is unusual from them and we get some activity on that by day . You never know . You guys have to let me know if you guys have seen something that I haven't seen . I think the hottest thing right now is probably , uh , the whole gerald haytoe thing . Um , so we'll , we'll see how that unfolds .
Speaker 1I think that's probably a move that's going to happen in the summer . More so right now , especially after yesterday's performance , uh , from some of the youngsters , it's becoming more and more clear that a lot of them aren't necessarily ready for that next level at liverpool , and it's unfortunate because some of these guys , you know we believed in a whole ton we like a lot , but unfortunately liking a player and believing in a player doesn't always pan out in football . More times than not , it does not pan out in football right . So we may see some exits in the summer man . We may see some exits in the summer man . It may be some fire cells in the summer it may be , you know , the exit of players like Gerald Kwanzaa , exit of players like maybe Robertson , who looks like Slott , is trying to transition into a center back Apparently . You know the coaching staff and things like that have been playing with the idea . Coaching staff and things like that have been um , playing with the idea and training and things like that and um that they liked what they saw in training . It didn't necessarily pay off in that psv game , but I think that's more so of not having a great center back partner , partner to do that with right um , someone who is transitioning into a different role in the team . You need somebody in there that is a rock , that is a starting , you know , starting 11 center back to try that with . I think it's more , uh , it's more , it makes more sense for Robertson to go in there with maybe a Kanate or maybe a Joe Gomez or maybe you know what I mean a VVD , if we're going to try that transition , less so a player that's kind of been on the rocks like Gerald Kwanzaa .
Speaker 1So I don't know , I still . I still feel like Robertson has a future at this club . That might be my bias , that might be my bias kicking in , but I still think Gerald not Gerald Kwanzaa , andy Robbo has a future at this club and I think center back is an option for him . Man , I can see him making that David Alaba kind of transition , where Alaba used to be a left back right and transitioned into a top class center back . So it's totally there . We , I think it's . I think he still has the hunger to desire . He's still decent defensively . He'll have to use less of his pace as a center back right , um , so I don't , we'll see what happens in the summer . You guys , let me know , who do you guys think , who do you guys see going ?
Speaker 1I see a majority of those players from last night , you know , heading to the exit door . It seems like Arnaz Slott really likes McConnell . I don't see it all the way . I know there's a lot of people that loved McConnell's performance last night . I know there's a lot of people that loved McConnell's performance last night . I didn't . I felt like he looked lost . He looked kind of all over the place . But I'm just going to kind of leave it there . But you know , we'll see . We'll see what ends up happening with a lot of these youngsters .
Speaker 1But somebody made a good point in the last video is that Klopp's style allowed the young players to be a little bit more instinctual right , to be more instinctual on how they played . And slot requires thinking right . Slot style of play requires you holding on to the ball , you making the right decisions , you being smart with your passes , all of those things right . It requires those things , and Klopp's is less so . That right where you can't go and just be an animal and you know what I mean and put in high effort and we create eight chances off of that energy . Right .
Speaker 1It's not necessarily the same with Arnaz Slot's style and I think a lot of these youngsters don't really fit that mold . I mean , you look at a guy , you look at Bobby Clark , you look at Stefan Bajcetic , you look at some of these young players who we were really high on right , even McConnell , who had a great game in that Carabao Cup final . We were really high on a lot of these players right , and they aren't necessarily fitting the system with slot , even though it's technically , at its foundations , pretty similar , but in its root it's not right . Pretty similar , but in its root it's not right . It's not heavy metal football anymore and it really sucks to see that some of these players aren't able to adapt and change and obviously that takes time as a young player and things like that . But it's unfortunate seeing a guy like Bobby Clark , who's struggling for minutes at RB Salzburg , who's struggling and as a whole , right like our players who just struggling for minutes at RB Salzburg , who's struggling as a whole , right Like our players who just came off of a Carabao Cup win .
Speaker 1Steph and Bobby Clark , all of those guys they should be tearing it up on these loans , right . Ben Doak , luis Cumas , who started out hot and has kind of faded a little bit , like some of these guys that are out on loan right now with the experience that they did have last season and how high they were on a lot of people's list in terms of talent and things like that . They should be tearing it up at these other clubs and being like you know what I mean . I think Ben Doak is probably the closest out of all of them who's having a Harvey Elliott type of loan at Middlesbrough , where Harvey Elliott went to Fulham and was Fulham's best player . That's what I'm talking about right there . You know what I mean .
Speaker 1Like , and I'm and I'm , and I don't want to like kind of keep harboring on the whole academy player thing from from the last video . But if you're going to go out there and you're going to take a risk and a manager is going to take a chance on you on a big stage like a ucl , or you go on loan to a lower league , you're supposed to be one , two and three levels above everybody else . If you're coming from a club like liverpool fc and I think the fans need to start we need to start expecting more from our academy products . We need to start expecting more from the talent that's coming into our club as well . And we need to get out of the mentality of we're a mid-table team and we should just be happy with the brian and buemo type and we should just be happy with an anton simeno type . Let's get him and try to evolve him , which I love that the hell . I love the whole you know kind of mindset of like we create superstars , we don't buy superstars . But I want to see a talent there . You know what I mean . I want to see a guy like Hayto . I want to see a guy like the like the like the kid from River Plate , that we're going after Franco Mazzutano I think that's what his name is where it's obvious talent there , and then we can take that talent to the next level .
Developing Liverpool's World-Class Talent
Speaker 1Versus , like you kind of , are struggling to stand out at the mid-table side that you're playing in . You're not two and three levels above the mid-table side that you're playing in and the rest of the players that are there . Why are we going after you , like Acuna , like a Jao Pedro , a lot of these players that have been popping up on our rumor list ? I'm like these guys ain't Liverpool level . Yo , they're not Liverpool level and we need to stop . We got to stop blowing our standards . I know we got Jota from Wolves . I know we got Sadio Mane from Southampton , but it was so obvious that those guys were two and three levels above everyone else in their squad . So it made sense to go get those guys , and that's what I'm trying to .
Speaker 1I want to and I think this is what Slott wants too to have that level on the academy level as well , where it's an obvious talent that we can take and develop into a world-class talent . For example , rio Nemuha . Rio is an excellent example of the standard of talent that needs to be there moving forward for Liverpool and what we need to kind of go after . Rio is so obviously there , right , he's so obviously like oh , when you see him play , you're like , oh , this kid's gonna be special . Those are the only talents we need to start going after , not like ooh , if we work on his . You know this . You know he has a big weakness here , but if we can buy that , I don't know . We got to stop doing that with some of these academy talents . We got to stop hyping them up higher than they actually are . Man , you know what I mean .
Speaker 1I saw someone say that McConnell put on a a outstanding performance last night . If you had eyes . That is not the truth . You know that's not the truth . So that's my rant for the day , but I'll go again . Let me get to some of these comments . Dan , with Liverpool chat said Gravenberch inviting Hayto to the game . At least we know we have a sporting director Now . Gravenberch is a better sporting director than Hughes , right ? So we'll see what happens with Hayto .
Speaker 1Trap Joe says Kiesa , not believing enough in me , might drive other potential players away . Nunes , I agree , I'm not sure what that means I don't know if that's a quote but I think Kiesa needs to get more game time . Let's be honest , after that match yesterday he was and that's what I'm talking about and obviously he's a very experienced player and has won pretty much everything on the Italian level Right and has played with some of the best players in the world that's obvious and has been world class in his career , which I think a lot of people forget . You know what I mean . I think there's like this common consensus that Federico Chiesa should be a charity case type of player , where we baby , we nurture . We don't expect much from him .
Speaker 1Let's be honest , federico Chiesa was for a long time , one of the best wingers in the world and even last season was probably one of the best top 10 ringers or top five wingers in all of Serie A , coming off of an injury and put up better numbers in a slower league , in a team that was more cautious than all of our forwards . We have right now , in terms of attacking actions , in terms of chances created , all of that stuff it's better than all of our forwards , believe it or not . If you look at some of these numbers numbers which is crazy to even think about . I think that was a robbery of a deal that we got from from uva . And if he's able to to pan out , obviously he's at fitness , he's played 90 minutes , he gets more opportunities in time , he's going to be a dangerous , dangerous player for us guys . He's going to be a dangerous , dangerous player for us guys . He's going to be a dangerous , dangerous player for us . Now I've seen enough that tells me that Federico Chiesa just needs more game time and the goals and assists are going to come , they are .
Speaker 1And then Reese says not sure if you saw my last blog and match chat channel , but it's pretty neat how our behind-the-scenes plans are getting exposed by the Anfield product . Right , um , I , I don't think I did . I don't think I did , um , I'll have to pull up the discord really quick . But yup , I see it right here , reese , I'm going to have to , uh , I'm going to have to look into that , bro , and I don't want to sit here and and and just kind of wait , hold on , my discord crashed . I have to let it update and then I'll read that because I think it's probably something to definitely take and take stock into . So give me one second on that , reese .
Speaker 1And then JC , realistically , how many trophies do you think we'll take ? I think we take one . If we're going to be really , really realistic , like I'm going to be super grounded , I'm going to be super realistic , I'm not going to , you know , overshoot and be , you know , mr , optimistic on this thing , and you know I typically am with these things . But I think we take one . And the one that I do think we take is the Premier League . I think we take the Premier League . The Champions League is . I'm looking at that table . I'm just like , bro , anything can happen in that table . I'm not 100% sure about that one . I don't know if that's one we go for and we go all in on . I know for a fact that most of these players are going to want that Premier League more than anything . So great question on that one , bro .
Speaker 1There are clips of his performance label as world class madness . That's what I'm saying , sugar man . That's what I'm saying , bro . That's what I'm saying . Like , I don't get it , bro . I don't know if it's just like people click for clip farming . I don't know if they're aura farming . I don't know if we're just trying to make it seem like we got better Academy products than other , than other teams .
Speaker 1But this shit got to stop . Bro McConnell is not a world class player yet . He has a lot of developing to do . I mean , it was pinball mania between him , endo and Elliott in the middle of that midfield and we just got to be real . We got to start being real again with some of these talents .
Speaker 1It's just like if you're not at least Harvey Elliott level coming out of that academy , I don't even want your name brought up , bro . You got work to fucking do . You should be grinding to displace McAllister . You should be grinding to to displace McAllister . You should be grinding to displace Ryan Gravenberg and Sabas Lai . It looks impossible , but in your mind as a player , as a young player , you should be thinking nah , I'm gonna , I'm gonna be one of the best in the world and that means that I'm gonna be better than those three . And that's what I loved about Rio and some of the people didn't love that interview that Rio did where he's like I'm winning a Ballon d'Or , like I want to see that from my players , I want to see that from my young players 16 , 17 , 18 years old he's like the ultimate goal is Ballon d'Or . That's what I want to do . I want to be better than Salah . I want to be better than Gakpo . I I want to be better than Gakpo . I want to be better than Chiesa . I'm going to be the number one player and you've got to have that hunger coming through and I'm waiting to see if we have another talent . That's on that level . That's just like . That's just a dog . You know what I mean . Like Stevie . Stevie came through and was like nah , this is my team . I'm Captain Fantastic , this is my team . From the moment he debuted , all the way until he retired . He was that guy .
Klopp's Secret to Player Development
Speaker 1Owen Fowler , all of these Academy products that came from the Academy . They were ready . As teenagers . We knew they were special out the gate . It wasn't well , he's 18 , 19 , he's 20 , he's 21 . Let's wait , it was never that . We knew they were special from the jump . You know what I mean . And can players improve 100% , 100% .
Speaker 1I'm not writing any of these players off If they're ready to take it seriously and when they get another chance to play in the uefa champions league and I saw someone say oh , this was a nothing burger game . We're looking too into this . If I'm a young player I'm 18 , 19 , 20 years old and I get a plant , a chance to play against a team like psv , who have , who have history , one of the biggest teams in the netherlands , on the final day of a whole new format in the champions league , and we could potentially make history of having the team go flawless . I'm showing the fuck out , that's all I'm saying . I'm just that's all I'm saying . That's all I'm saying .
Speaker 1And the trap ? Joe says being uh facetious . I don't know what that means , but i'm'm going to use contact clues . My fault , bro , I didn't catch the joke . I didn't catch the joke , joe .
Speaker 1And then Dan at Liverpool Chat said people forget Chiesa was worth $100 million once . And that is so true , dan . People forget that Chiesa was a $100 million forward , that we were interested in when he was at the height of his powers . Let's not forget that . And we bid , I believe the the the rumor was that we bid 80 million for him and Juventus wanted a hundred . Let's not forget that . And we just got them for less than 20 million .
Speaker 1Kwanzaa , wow , what happened with that kid ? He is out of it . He is . I don't know what happened . Um , happen , um , I think maybe it was that that whole , you know , I don't know a lot of weird stuff going down in his , in his personal life in terms of , like some of the only fans , model stuff and dating the younger girl and then having a couple stinkers in a row . I'm not sure what happened to kwanzaa , but I said this in the video .
Speaker 1I think jürgen klopp has a really good . He has this secret special sauce . He has this ability to draw and it's and it's . If you guys watch basketball american basketball , nba greg popovich is another one that's like this . And then american football uh , bill belichick . Greg popovich was the , the um , the coach of the san antonio spurs . It still is the coach of the san antonio spurs . And uh , bill belichick is was the coach of the patriots they had . There's this like long-running joke in america that greg popovich can pull a random ass guy off the street and turn him into a 40% from three three-point shooter and he can be a serviceable guy in the NBA . And then Bill Belichick was the same thing . He can pull anybody off the street and he'll become a pro bowler .
Speaker 1I think Klopp has that same thing , too , of being able to make players seem better than they are , play better than they are , because he just has that secret ability of pulling out one level or two levels above what the player can reach on their own . And that's what a coach is right , which is why I think Jurgen Klopp is one of the best to ever do it right , because he was able to take pretty much little what he had and take these players to the next level . You look at a rabo , you look at a jota , you look at a money , you even look at a sala right . You look at a fermino . You look at all these players that he bought or was given and he was able to take them two and three levels higher . You look at a henderson was another one of those players where henderson was on his way out and juergen turned him into a captain . Right when VVD was world-class and Juergen turned him into a legend . You know , you look at those things and it's just like can slot replicate that ? I hope so . I hope he can so .
Speaker 1And then Reese says by no means read my long ass paragraph on stream . I'm going to read it because it's probably really good , but I'm going to get to some of these replies . And then Dan says watch us get PSG , dude . Whoever we get in the next round , it's going to be hard , even if we get breast , even if we get PSG , and then , I believe , monaco is in the mix for us as well . All of those teams are actually really tough . So I'm like , did we get punished for finishing first ? Like low key , but the way that it's laid out now , there's no , it's no easy games anymore after this round . No easy games . We're only going to play tough teams moving forward , which I love . It keeps it more competitive and I think there will be more variation .
Speaker 1City and Madrid almost didn't even qualify for the , not for the uh , the knockout round or the , the playoff round , right , which I love . I love it . I love it's the champions league . You know what I mean ? It was all . This is how it was meant to be all , uh , always . So hold on . I think we , uh , it says that my , my stream is acting up here . We're gonna hold out here . Boom , we're back . So , um , but anyone here who's not in the discord , you should hop in don't even have a discord account here . Let me , uh , let me , let me shoot this , this discord link , into in there for you guys . Um , just so that you guys can start a Discord account . It's very , very easy to do and it's very . Use the copy button , okay . And it's very cool to be able to talk football , to be together with you guys and to be able to to bounce ideas off that .
Speaker 1That mercy side monster part two video was a lot of reese's thoughts . I'm gonna be real honest here . Let's pull the curtain back . Let's pull the curtain back . A lot of it was reese's thoughts . A lot of it it was uh , brian as well , who is super active in there . Um , who else is in there ? Uh , jay is in there .
Speaker 1A lot of that was us all just bouncing ideas off of each other and just like , wait a minute , are we missing some of this ? Some of this stuff that's like kind of right in our face and it was just like whoa , like this is potentially what could be happening here . And that's always what I wanted this channel to be was to be to be our channel , not my channel , but a group of liverpool supporters who we all have different , you know , kind of viewpoints . We all have different things that that we think is happening and is going on , and things like that , and we we're able to have a good conversation with each other and not yell at each other , not call each other names and stuff like that , but actually have like respectable conversations and see each other's point of views and be like you know what . I didn't even think about it that way . That's actually a really fire point , bro . Like you changed my whole perspective on that thing and that's how it is .
Speaker 1In that discord man , it's just that , like we bounce , we start , start theorizing , bouncing ideas , and then it just becomes more and more , it starts materializing more and more . So it's pretty crazy how that whole thing goes down and that whole thing works . So let me see if I can , if I can , get this discord link going for you guys . So , boom , there we go . There you guys go go . I just put it down in the uh , in the comments . There you guys can , uh , can , throw that in there , uh , and join discord . It's very easy to do . All you got to do is just log in with your youtube uh account and it'll sync everything up and it'll know that you're a member of the channel and you'll be ready to rock . So it's late , um , and then reese , and then uh , let's see what else we got going on here .
Speaker 1Kevin said old school red man . I've been lucky to see proper scousers like Keegan Tosh , king , kenny Rush , aldo Rosenthal , torres , suarez , god , owen , yep , suarez , god , owen , yep . All these guys , guys , fire , and unbelievable players that were just freaking hungry bro , like could you imagine Torres playing in this squad ? That's what I always think about . Like some of these players that were like , oh , we gotta wait . You know , let's listen . You know the jury's out on some of these players . I'm like could you imagine Torres in this squad ? Torres would kill to be in this Liverpool squad . Stevie has even said it , like some of these Liverpool squads that have come out . And how good we've gotten . Stevie would go nuts in this Liverpool squad , right . So I just want to see that level get back to where we have some of the best players in the world coming through and we stopped settling for less . We stopped settling for less man .
Speaker 1And then JC says I can see us buying a new CB when Virgil goes , most likely buying a good player with not the biggest reputation to replace Salah . You know who I really like . You know , while I really like JC , I really like Gerald Haytoe as a heir to Virgil one . He's a massive fan of Virgil insane speed , great technical ability , can play literally anywhere across the back line and even as a holding midfielder if need be . As for the salah replacement , I don't know about you guys , but I really like johan bacayoko . Did johan bacayoko and impress you guys yesterday because he did for me ? He terrorized simi kass and rabo on that , on that uh , right hand side , and was a deadly finish . Sat everybody in the back line down and finished with his right foot , by the way , nasty stuff I love . I like real johan bacchioco and I'm very surprised he hasn't moved on sooner versus later .
Speaker 1And then , um , summer is going to be massive , it's a dutch summer 100 . And then , um , we make winners . That's right , kevin . And then Trap Joe says as much as I like Slott's tactical mentality , but he lacks Klopp's passion and trust in the players . Juergen was just different . He was there will never be another Juergen . There will never be another Juergen . Ever , Ever , ever , ever , ever , ever .
Speaker 1And then Dan says I've been enjoying the YNWA lounge Lounge . Goes crazy , bro . We have some really good chats in there . The lounge is pretty dope and I didn't expect it to be the discord to be this good . I didn't expect it to be this good . So you guys are amazing in there and , like I say in like almost every video , you guys have given me some of the best takes that I've seen on YouTube , like better than some of these guys that actually do it for a living and have YouTube channels . I'm like , wait a minute , why don't you have a channel , bro ? So , like , you guys definitely got to , you guys got to get a channel , some of y'all got to get a channel and you know who you are . And then , uh , happily said you should put all your links underneath the comment , in the comment section , in the comment section below , for sure .
Speaker 1I think it says more about your uh , mixed up backline yesterday than bakayoko . Good point , very good point . I liked him , though , overall , but he was playing against a hosh posh backline . But it's still rabo . He's still rabo , bro . It's still rabo . It's still simikas
Liverpool Transfer News and Analysis
Speaker 1.
Speaker 1I don't know , we'll see um , and knowing you're , uh , knowing you're again , knowing arna , he's I don't know , I don't know who he's gonna go to . We don't know arna just yet , right , we don't know the profile that he likes and that he wants just yet . But , um , peppy , ricardo , peppy , if that chest down and he , uh , he played into bakayoko and that little flick touch into that bottom right , nasty . I like peppy a lot , not because he's american , but because he's an actual baller . And if you actually look at his stats it's kind of crazy . He has the highest goals and assists per 90 in the world right now . Um , he's played the least amount of minutes and scored the most amount of goals . Definitely one to look into .
Speaker 1Super , super talent . Let's see if he can continue this run . But just cannot get in over Luke DeJong . The manager loves Luke DeJong and I get it . He's a legend in the club . And then Sugarman says my only concern about Hayto is size . He's six foot tall , he is is , but he's a great jumper . He's a great jumper , he actually wins a good amount of headers .
Speaker 1Uh , let me see if I can pull up his stat , a stat matrix , really quick , um , and compare him to , let's say , kanate . Um , I think this will , this will probably be . Uh , this will probably make a lot , a whole lot of sense if we pull it up . But let's see , let's see how he compares to Kanate in terms of aerial duels , which is the cream of the crop , right ? Kanate and Ebor the cream of the crop when it comes to aerial duels and things like that . I didn't want to do VVD , because nobody's better than VVD in the air . So that would be an unfair comparison for the kid .
Speaker 1So let me see , let's see what we got going on here . Let's do oh , he's not even in . They don't even have his league on here on stat matrix . But let's do what ? The league that he's in um , which is gonna be the ? Oh , he's in the conference league this year . They're in the conference league . This year , ix is in the conference . Wait , hold on , they're in the europa league this year . Oh , they didn't qualify for champions league . I'm tripping .
Speaker 1But let's look at aerial duels um , let's do clearances , interceptions , block shots , um , and then ball recoveries I think is a good one as well . And then let's see aerial duels contested this season in the champions league boom , boom , boom , boom . We don't . They don't even have the Champions League stats on here , which is the craziest thing we can . I don't think it's fair to uh , oh , wait , there it is , I got it .
Speaker 1So let's see here Hayto in terms of the Champions League . He is pretty close in terms of passes completed . So Hayto is obviously in the Europa League and then Kanate is in the Champions League , very close in terms of passes completed . It's almost neck and neck 249 to 262 . Ariel Duels contested 11 for Hayto , 14 for Ibu . Right Ariel Duels won 8 for Hayto and 10 for Ibu . So close , very close , right . And then Ariel Duels' success 72% for Hayto , 71% for Ibu , which is why I bring up his ability to jump right . Which is why I bring up Hayto's ability to jump , because even though he's a smaller center back , the boy has fucking spring in his legs , bro . I don't know , I don't know what they're feeding him over at Ajax , but he actually wins a lot of aerial duels and is actually decent in the air , which I think is why we're looking at him , because I know that's something that worried Slott , or was a worry for our recruitment team when we were after Goncalo Onasio , who isn't very strong in the air as a center back but can play that left back role .
Speaker 1Ground duels contested 34 compared to Ibu's 16 . Ground duels won 17 compared to Ibu's 8 , ground duels 117 compared to eboo's eight . Uh , which is crazy . Duels in general one 25 compared to eboo's 18 . And ground duel success is 50 . Their level on that 50 50 on that . Uh , eboo has the most clearances at 20 compared to uh . Gerald's seven . So that's a huge gap there . Interceptions are close , five and seven in favor of eboo . Block shots are close . Five and seven in favor of ibu . Block shots is close , one and three in favor of ibu .
Speaker 1But here's the , the , the stat that I love about gerald hayta ball recoveries 30 compared to ibu's 22 . And this is just in europe , right , we're ? This is like a five six game sample . They uh , hayto's played six this year . I , hatos played six this year . Ebus played five this year 30 ball recoveries .
Speaker 1He has pace to fucking burn , guys . You guys think mickey vandavan is fast . He's just as fast as mickey . He he's gonna contend as one of the fastest center backs in the league if we get him . And this is why I love this kid so much and I've been so high on him since last summer , guys . You know if you guys have been following the channel for a while , you know I've been high on Hayto since last summer . I'm like we need to get Hayto in right . I love the pace , I love his aerial ability . The ball playing ability is really great too . Can play literally anywhere . He's like a Urien Timber , he's like a Quinton Timber .
Speaker 1That IAC's product right , where they can play anywhere . Gravenberg is a good example as well that IAC's product , where they're so technically good , play them anywhere on the pitch . They're smart enough , they're intelligent enough to play in these positions and excel there . Gravenberg was a player , has played as a 10 , he's played as an 8 , he's played as a 6 now and now he's played as a center back in his career , can play anywhere on the pitch , and that's what I love about these ix products they're so damn smart and talented .
Speaker 1So , um , and then allison on the move . He could , he could potentially be . I don't know about allison's future . I don't know where he goes . I'm not sure where allison goes and this whole thing , but marmar dasvili came out in that interview and they asked why haven't you moved to Liverpool ? And he just said one word Allison . And in my opinion , they need to , respectively , sunset Alli before his leaks become floods . Yeah , alli's level has dropped , which is crazy , and as a goalkeeper at this age , you should actually be hitting your prime and not falling off . So it's a little bit of a concern .
Speaker 1And then I believe it's already given that this could be Ali's last season , and it seems like it could be . It seems that he could potentially be moving on , and that was the plan at the beginning of the season , which is why we went for Marmar Dasvili so abruptly and randomly , when we have three keepers that could potentially be first choice keepers already in the books . Thoughts on our goalie letting seven in against Barca yeah , it's Barca , that's all I would say . Dan , it's Barca bro . Like they are , they play flick ball , which is all out attack , take no prisoners , type of shit . And Valencia has been absolutely shocking this season . Their backline has been terrible and Gigi has been absolutely shocking this season . Their back line has been terrible . And Gigi has had absolutely no help in that team . And I think he's thinking shit . Maybe I should have did that Bournemouth move , but I think it was Valencia who wanted to keep Gigi more than anything , and why the Bournemouth moves didn't materialize for Amar Dashvili , sadly . And then Sugarman says same as Allie against , against villa . So it could be a tactical or squad issue , right , and then remote boomer says uh or uh . Dan's just replying back to remote boomer and then reese says valencia backline is flimsy like toilet seat cover . 100 percent van dyke replacement , 100 , uh .
Speaker 1Hato could be all been speaking about retirement in brazil . Alley's been speaking about retirement in brazil . Ali's been speaking about retirement in Brazil . I think he might be one of those players , and that's true . I completely forgot about those , uh , those , um , that news that was coming out . He could be one of those players that retire early man and just be happy with his career where it's at . He's a very , uh , faith centered individual . I can see him go in the direction that Firmino has gone and become a pastor and do that full time and all that stuff . Go to Brazil , do a couple seasons there , retire there . I can totally see that . I mean , look at Neymar . I mean he's in his early 30s already as Santos , probably in the sunset of his career as well .
Speaker 1And then Dan says , seeing the clip of Hayto shaking hands with hands , and he was like shit that's VVD , and I was like shit that's vbd and I was like same bro , right , and that's . And that's what I want to see from players that were linked with like kiesa , like kiesa was such a breath of fresh air . I'm just like dude . I wanted more players that want to be here , that have world-class levels in them and that have shut , that show that they are , that they they want to be here and that they love it here and that they're happy at Liverpool and they have massive smiles on their face every time they score a goal , their teammates score a goal , cameras in front of them . You know what I mean . Like thank you for bringing me in here . Liverpool .
Evolving Football Standards and Player Valuation
Speaker 1And then JC , I saw that message about Rodrigo . You can't retract the message , bro . Rodrigo's not , I don't know about Rodrigo . I think Rodrigo is another one of those overrated players . I think we just live in a fricking era right right now , as , as football fans , unfortunately , that there is so many players that are kind of mediocre let's be honest and they're overpriced and we're saying that they're better than they are . I mean , how does vinny jr get a ballon d'or shot with those stats , bruh , I know you know 30 goal contributions and things like that . Salah does that every season , let's be honest and never got close to a ballon d'orf .
Speaker 1What happened to the level of the Thierry Henry's ? What happened to the level of the Ronaldo's , the Bale's , the David Villa's , the Luis Suarez's , which isn't there ? Wasn't ? That's not too long ago ? Let's keep that in mind , right ?
Speaker 1What happened to this , this standard , where almost every team in the Premier League , if you were a top six team , you had a top 10 striker in your team . You had a Robbie Keane . You had a Dimitar Berbatov . You had a Carlos Tevez at West Ham , you had a Fernando Torres . You had a Robin Van Persie at Arsenal and then at Manchester United . You had a Diego Forlan . You had a Zlatan Ibrahimovic . You had an Adriano . You had a Diego Forlan . You had a Zlatan Ibrahimovic . You had an Adriano . You had a . You know what I mean . Like what happened . You had a Kuniguero at Atletico Madrid , even an Antoine Griezmann in his early years at Atletico Madrid , where you're like , bro , these guys are , we got animals everywhere .
Speaker 1Now you can't find a nine to save your life in the market and if you , he's a hundred million dollars . That's what's fucking up the game right now . I truly believe every player , every young player , wants to be a freaking winger or a 10 , which those don't exist anymore . Right , really , tens don't anymore . You're either like you're either an eight or you're a box of box eight , or you're holding midfielder . Now the true 10 has disappeared . Cutoutinho was like one of the last true 10s that I've seen in world football . Right , artagulera is one , but he's deployed on the wing . I think he's a . He's another true 10 . Mesut Ozil was another true 10 , one of the last of his kind .
Speaker 1What happened to the standard in football , brother ? What it ? Why is it falling ? And we're okay with being linked with Antoine Simeone . We're okay with being linked , and nothing against these boys . They would dog me in a 5v5 . Absolutely , kill most of us in a 5v5 . But we shouldn't be linked with an Mbwemo . We shouldn't be linked with a Jao Pedro . We shouldn't be linked with the Co Pedro . We shouldn't be linked with the Cunha , because if they were that good , their teams wouldn't be where they are right now . Bournemouth as a whole completely different setup with Antoine Semenya , obviously . But why is Cunha getting hyped ? His team is bottom of the table . I don't get that . Why is DeLapp being hyped ? His team is at the bottom of the table . I don't get that .
Speaker 1Because when you are a player of that caliber that demands those types of fees , you drag your team up to it . The minimum mid table . I'm thinking about a Carlos Tevez . I'm thinking about a Berbatov when he was on fire . I'm thinking about even a Michu when he was at Swansea . These guys were game changers and could win your team points when they didn't deserve them . Bro , you know what I'm talking about . That's what I'm talking about . That's the ones that that I'm like we spending . We're gonna spend money on those . We're gonna spend money on those players , not guys that got eight goals , bro , not guys . That's on seven goals , three assists , and you're saying that's a $60 , $70 million forward . Fuck that , I'm sorry , I'm just passionate about that .
Speaker 1And I think the market , ever since Neymar went to PSG for that insane fee , the market's been screwed and we knew that that was going to happen when that deal dropped screwed , and we knew that that was going to happen when that deal dropped . We all knew that that deal was going to happen . We all knew it , bro . We all knew that the price of players was going to skyrocket . It's insane that there are players with with a fraction of the legacy of guys like kaka , guys like uh ronaldo , guys like bail and I know it's a different time period and inflation is a real thing and all that stuff are going for more than them , right ? That's madness to me , bro . That's madness .
Speaker 1So I respect FSG for not playing that dumb game and spending 60 , 70 , $80 million on players that don't even deserve to lace up the boots for Liverpool and even put on the damn shirt for the club . Right ? Deals like McAllister , they don't happen anymore . Bruh , like we were , just like . We gotta just be happy that we got McAllister for the price that we did , because that deal never happens anymore . A world-class player for a reasonable price . We just got to be thankful that we got that deal over the line because McAllister is a $100 million player in today's market , in a realistic market , mcallister is a $60 , $60 , $65 , $70 billion player in that range , the fees , that which some of the greatest players ever went to madrid for , I think .
Speaker 1But that's just me . And then , um , jc , take him . Uh , jc said I would take him . He's on form , rodrigo , solid . Uh , if we're talking about , um , yeah , rodrigo from Madrid , rodrigo's solid . I think he's one of those understated ones , but he's going to cost an arm and a leg Like bro , no , uh-uh , because it's still to be seen if you can be the guy . You have Mbappe with you , you got Vinny Jr with you , you got Jude Bellingham with you . I'm going to see if you can be the guy . And I don't know if you can be the guy . So I'm not going to spend 80 million on you because you might just be good , because you're playing with other good players , and that's the one thing that I like kind of shy away from when there's players that do well in super teams and you want to go get them if they're like running down their contract maybe they're falling out of favor and things like that . There's reasons behind that right .
Speaker 1And then asian clubs hype up players to increase transfer fees and it's true and it's it's . It's killing the game , man , it's killing the game , it is um , and then they're winning , unfortunately , yep , do we lose ? Calla hair , says dan . Uh , probably probably . Calla hair probably goes . I can see him staying in the premier league though . Um , for a strong , like mid upper table team , brentford , um , bournemouth , uh , who else could I see maybe going , going getting calla her ? Um , west ham possibility , some of these , these teams that that need goalkeepers and him doing great , and he will always , probably be , he'll always be loved by the Liverpool supporters . What he's done and the role that he's played in the club cannot , cannot be understated , man , it can't .
Speaker 1And then Reese says Roma speaks truth on Vinny . Spanish media group thinks zombies . Enters the chat . Vinny is not a Ballon d'Or level , I mean when you have a . And Rodri won that , by the way . Justly , I believe , when you have a defensive midfielder putting up 25 plus goal contributions , get the fuck out of here . He's winning it every time .
Speaker 1Don't bring up the guy that has the same , or you know what I mean . Like , nah , no , no , it's crazy , um , and uh , uh happily says uh , it's cyclic , um , innovative managers find a way to make certain system effect again effective against 433 using center forward , and all of a sudden it's , it's fashionable , right . So I don't know , maybe we see a , uh , a , an error where we go back to the 4-2-2 , we go back to to a two-man forward line , right , but the 4-3-3 man , it changed the game . Everybody want to be wingers now . Nobody want to be center , mid , center forwards .
Speaker 1No more , bro , give me the big dog center forwards . Like we shouldn't only have like five center forwards that we can count on one hand in in today's game . Isak , uh , gilkoresh , um , who else ? Holland , who else is a big dog center forward ? You know what I mean ? That that we can really look at and be like , damn , they're serious . Lewandowski about to retire , kane about to retire when are the rest of them ? Where are the rest of my big dog center forwards ? That's just like , oh , he's an animal in the box . Lautaro , I guess , is one . Oshiman , I guess , kind of , he's not even playing in the top five league . Though when are my center forwards at , baby ?
Speaker 1And then Sugarman says a lot of Charlie Adams in the world football making , in ranking , in Zinedine Zidane transfer fees . And it's true , bro , it's true , it's true , and it's crazy . I just look at City and the money that they're spending . I don't envy them , bro . I know there's some Liverpool fans that are just like you know . Look , city , you know , were able to solve their problems with 200 million FSG out . No , they didn't . City still suck . Those overpriced kids aren't going to do anything . Marmouch for 100 million isn't going to do anything , isn't going to do anything .
Speaker 1Is he a good player ? Sure , but City need great right now . City need Julian Alvarez back , who looks like he could be another bona fide goal-getting center forward on the rise , which I love to see . And there's something about Diego Simeone . He knows how to draw out some of these forwards . Bruh , he's created some of the best forwards ever , but Simeone , he plays with a two-man front line , mind you . Mind you , it's different . It's different than the 4-3-3 , right ? So , uh , and then Chiesa can be the unsung hero , if given the chance , in the second half of the season .
Speaker 1By the way , I'm impressed with roman , roman's overall knowledge , bro , joe , bro , I've been watching this damn game since I was a teenage , young , young teenager , I want to say maybe 13 years old , which is less time than most of you . I've been obsessed with this thing ever since and I I've seen all of it , bro . I've seen a lot of the evolution from the late , you know , or the early 2000 kind of era , which was , I believe , one of the golden eras in football , up until this era right now . You know , I saw the end of the Galacticos . I saw , you know , the Ronaldo , you know blockbuster transfer in Madrid and the rise of Barca and their dominance to the fall of Barca . And , you know , I've seen all of that stuff . I've seen our fall and I've seen our rise and it's just like it's different now in world football , man , and it's , I hope it's . We're in a turning point where we see more , more of the stuff that that made the Premier League and made world football great in the early 2000s , and we potentially could be on the cusp of that , and I hope so .
Transfer Strategy and World Cup Predictions
Speaker 1Bubble , no doubt it ain't even money ball . It's just foolish to do it . Do it any other way at this moment and it is , and I know there's a lot of people that don't love it , but I'm not . I don't want my club spending no , no , 40 , 50 , 60 million on on mid players . I just don't want to . I don't want to see it because how , how are we able to get cutino for 10 , 15 million ? Tell me that . And he's better than every , every player that I've named that we've been linked with . He's better than all of them . Cutino was . And we , we can . We can even go , not that far back , and say jota is better than all of the players that that that we've been linked with .
Speaker 1Simeno , uh . Jao , pedro , uh . Kunya , uh uh . Cherokee , all of these guys .
Speaker 1I feel like cherokee is like one of the only guys that is actually reasonably priced . Um , I still think he's probably a 10 or 15 million dollar uh player , not a 20 , 25 million , which is what leon wants from him , but that's more reasonable . But I still don't think he's our level . Like , yeah , he's fun to watch and if he was creative and he was this mercurial talent , he'd be racking in more assists . Maybe he's not a goal getter , but at least be creative and create opportunities and create assists .
Speaker 1You're just doing tricks to do tricks , you're just click . You're clip farming . Now you want to be in edits . You don't want to be , you don't want to be on uh lifting trophies , you want to be in edits . And those type of players . I don't , don't love them . I don't love them .
Speaker 1And then happily said the three B's prove you find top class players every year for 30 to 35 million , 100% , 100% . They're there . They're there , but it's just going to take time and it's going to take a really good scouting network , which we've done . We've done really well . For the most part , we've had more hits than we've had misses , and I'm happy with that . And Habley says but take into account that they are top class only in certain styles of player . They're researched to fit very specific roles and very specific functions , right , exactly . And then Dan , with Liverpool Chat , says the nerve of city to spend that with the uh trial drama going on , I know , and which tells me that they've gotten away with it , that they're not gonna , nothing's gonna happen there , unfortunately , um . And then happily says I don't really like center forwards .
Speaker 1In my memory , too many uh were lumps who stood on the penalty spots waiting for service . I am old , hey , the players that I mentioned , they were the real deal bro . The players I brought up , man , they was the real deal bro . The Rain Roonies , the Van Persies , the Four Lines , all these guys that I brought up , they was the real deal deal . There are some like the andy carrolls and stuff like that , the ricky lamberts who's had , you know , one good season in the , and then that's kind of it . Um , I don't know if you throw jamie vardy into that , I feel like he's like almost like a cult hero , cult legend . Uh , some of those players that you know , they kind of they cherry pick some of of these goals , like Lukaku and stuff like that . Lukaku can , can go crazy on his day , though respect to Lukaku . All I need is another couple of transfer windows with low activity and prices will start to fall , and , it's true , they will have to start dropping these prices . And then a trap .
Speaker 1Joe says I grew up during a Maradona , zico , platini era . Seeing an american like you knows that much is very impressive . Bravo , thank you , joe . I appreciate that man seriously , seriously , seriously , seriously , and then to be able to , to , uh , to grow up during that era is huge . That's a crazy era to grow up in , man . Uh , maradona , zico and platini is that's a . That's an awesome era . So I appreciate you guys seriously , and I know we didn't even go into the on-form , out-of-form stuff .
Speaker 1I feel like I just had to get that one off my chest really quick about some of the stuff that I feel like is going down . That's why I'm not too pressed on some of the transfer stuff . Hold out , don't be a fool . I even think maybe Zuba Mendy is a little overpriced . So I'm glad that deal never materialized either . Give me somebody that's going to blow my damn socks off . I want my socks blown off , man . And it's just like whoa if we're going to spend 60 , 70 million plus . So we'll see .
Speaker 1Who do you got for the World Cup ? Hmm , what a great question . Who do I got for the World Cup ? I'm gonna go to some of those games , by the way . So , uh , definitely stay tuned on that . Definitely stay tuned on that , because they'll be here in America . Uh , I've already talked to some of my family members and we're gonna ride out and definitely go to some of those games . So I'll probably do a bunch of videos on that and content on that , maybe even some some live streams from the stadiums and things like that . I think that'd be really fun .
Speaker 1Who do I have for the world cup , though ? Germany is up there . Germany is up there . I think with the emergence of Musiala and Wurz , they're going to be super-duper dangerous . Pavlovich is another young player that's on the rise , and Bayern Munich , who seems to be man , he seems to be the real deal , so who else would probably be hitting a crazy-ass stride during that time ? Portugal is a huge shout as well . They're still a very good team . Spain let's not count Spain out of the mix on some of these things .
Speaker 1Guys , it's coming home . Mm-mm , no , um , it's coming home . No , unfortunately . I would love even though I'm not even from england , I would love england to bring it home , bro . You know how good that would be . You know how good that would be for football , and england just got , just got one , bro , just got it like bring it home , baby . You know what I mean . I would love to see that if tuchel can figure it out and get some of these best players playing at a level that they need to play at . I think england should be taking this home . They should be taking it home .
Speaker 1But let's not forget , some of these squads are going to be maturing in the next year , right next year , two years . And you got guys in spain like dean house and you got uh , kubar kubar c ? Um , uh , that young , young kid at barcelona . You got um , all of those barcelona project uh prospects that are are , what's his name ? Furlan , right . You got Lamin Yamal , who's going to be in that Spanish team . Gavi will be healthy , pedri will probably be healthy . You got Marc Casado on Sufati if he can make a resurgence , fuck , the Spanish team is just cracked bruh . You got Alberto Molero , who could emerge in these next couple years , who's a hot young prospect who plays for Paul Hermes uh , paul Hermes , or Paul , yeah , paul Hermes Um . You got um Fermin Lopez , who had a huge , who played a huge , huge role in , uh , the Olympics for Spain . Uh , dean Housen I don't know if I already said Housen um shit . Stefan Bajcetic if he uh , uh uh starts developing a little bit more , alejandro Balde Margui if he develops in the next year , gabri Villegas also in the mix , he might be a wild card . The Spanish team is crazy , dude . The Spanish team is crazy . And don't forget some of those OGs that are still going to be around , like Olmo , like Ohan Sanset , like you know what I mean Like some of these older players that are going to be able to give those young guys the stability Don't count Spain out to go and do a back-to-back , do the Euros and do a World Cup . So I like it , I like it , I like the World Cup .
Speaker 1And then Reese says Roman building his channel by refusing to go full tilt FSG , like most of the LFC community . Damn right , bro , fuck that it's a , it's tired out . It's a . It's a tired out . You know trope people have been going after it for years . It's an easy way to to get , you know , a bunch of clicks and views and stuff like that .
Speaker 1But I want us to be built this channel to be built off authenticity and have amazing people like you guys in there that have real takes , that think for themselves , that have their own opinions . And you guys can educate me . I can drop some knowledge on you guys . That's what I want to see . I don't want to see that , that bull , the drama and stuff like that . I don don't love that .
Speaker 1And then , um , happily said that's my age when people ask me for a who for world cup . I always say Brazil . Who are crap now ? But I remember the greatest world cup winner winners Brazil 70 . Brazil is uh , they're wild card . Cause like Brazil will be bad and then all of a sudden they'll just like spawn , like some , some goats . So I don't want to , I don want to count brazil out either .
Speaker 1Um , but mexico and usa got to win it . Crazy with all the athletes we have and can't put to get put it together . I think it's the system that we play in north america . It's how they run the system . It's true , jc . Funny that you bring that up and then we'll wrap up on this , because I think this is a really good topic to wrap up on , jc , it's funny that you bring that up with the most recent headlines about NCAA looking to go full calendar and full teams into the MLS pyramid .
Speaker 1I think the US and Mexico have such high potential in world football and it's exactly what you guys are saying there . You guys , I think the system has to change and I think more athletes need to be marketed appropriately in the us to have more kids actually want to be football players right , which I think is changing a little bit . I think football is becoming more and more common in the us and I think the the emergencies of , obviously , leo messi in the united states and a lot of the celebrities flocking towards inter , miami and things like that , has put that seed into a lot of kids heads where they don't want to be basketball stars anymore . They don't want to be football stars . Believe it or not , guys , this is a crazy ass to even say , but believe it or not , odell Beckham Jr used to play for US men's under 21s . Odell Beckham Jr , who is that , like you know , he's going to go down in the NFL Hall of Fame Super Bowl champion , probably one of the greatest wide receivers , you know , the top 20 wide receiver ever in the NFL . He's just as good at football as he is at football . If you guys did not know this , if you like , go look up some videos online of him playing as a U21 , or even currently he still he still got it . He is so good , but he decided to play football instead , american football instead . And that happens so often in America , where we miss out on a lot of these superstars just because football in America just isn't marketed really well . And kids when they're growing .
Speaker 1I think we have a good team now Is it good enough to win a World Cup ? Absolutely not , absolutely not , absolutely not . Is it good enough to win a World Cup ? We have to get extremely fortunate . If , if we get , if we even get close right , we got to get really fortunate , because I think there's just other teams that are just too good .
Speaker 1The netherlands is another one . You know , you run into the netherlands , spain , england , um , some of those slavic nations and stuff like that . You know slovenia , um , you run into croatia . We're getting buzzsawed , let's be honest , right ? So chad ochocinco was a huge one too . Jc , fantastic , under 21 , uh , football player and still loves the game a lot . Um decided to be a wide receiver and is one of the best ever . One of the best wide receivers ever . You know what I mean . So it's tough . So I like FSG because they are smart enough to stay out of the business , apart from hiring great executive officers . Same 100% FSG , thank Christ , are not like the Glazers . The Glazers are too hands-on and some people don't love the fact that fsg is not more hands-on , right ? So that's my take on the whole world cup thing .
Speaker 1We're definitely going to do some content on the world cup when it comes here , um , give you some really sick behind the scenes type of stuff . I did record some stuff when for the copa america , but I never posted it and I probably should have . Um , I was able to actually get pretty close and take pictures and stuff like that and get autographs from some of the players , from your guy in Brazil , but I never posted it , I just kept it . But for the World Cup I'm going to make sure that I get you guys some good stuff , because when I go to games I like to go all out , I like to get like the VIP ticket and get down close and try to , you know , talk to players and stuff like that . And I'm going to try to do the same thing for this World Cup , as long as tickets don't sell out crazy and stuff like that .
