Being Present to the Presence

In which our pilgrims attempt to deal with something that makes us all a little uncomfortable - simply being still and quiet. Why is it so hard for us to turn off all the noise and just sit in God’s presence? Does the church have a role and responsibility in guiding believers back to this centuries old practice of embracing stillness?
