Struggling with Fear of the Unknown? Trust in God & Love One Another

When our worlds turn upside down and chaos calls, fear typically hangs out in the driver's seat. Our defenses rise, we put on our armor, and we fight, we run, or we freeze.

With the recent upheaval from the election and many people unexpectedly displaced from jobs, while also experiencing organizational restructure and development, our defenses are heightened now more than ever. The bickering, the banter, the hate on social media, in particular, is so disheartening. What if we acknowledged this fear in all of us? And what if we took that fear to The Father rather than engaging in a technological platform engaged to divide us?

What if we put our full trust in God rather than sitting and worrying about our worldly possessions? Matthew 6:33-34 says "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard times come up when the time comes."

Friends, God's got this. He has never let us down and he never will. This episode gives us strength and clarity to trust in God, especially when in crisis. And to remember his greatest commandment, which is "To love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself."  Even when you disagree. Even when you're angry. Even when you're different. Now more than ever, God is telling us that we need to stand together as his children and love one another. His son paid the ultimate price for us, the least we can do is obey his greatest commandment. 

My hope and prayer for you today is to love your neighbor. Make the commitment to honor God's greatest commandment. Spread the love and trust God, especially during the unknown.
