Hosted by Zoltan Borbasi a 52 year videographer from the mid 90's who made a number of videos and more between 1994 - 2008 under the name Volatile Visions.

On this episode of Volatile Revisioned,
I sit down with Professor Tom Ptak —
an Adelaide mountain bike rider from the mid-90s scene…
who followed curiosity far beyond the trails.
From the early days of the Inside Line MTB community,
to riding across continents…
Africa… the Middle East… the Himalayas…
What started as a love for riding…
became a deeper search for understanding the world.
Confronted by poverty, culture, and contrast —
Tom began asking questions…
questions that would eventually lead him into academia…
From failing high school geography…
to becoming a Professor and energy geographer in the United States —
this is a story about perspective, persistence, and purpose.
And through it all…
one thing remained constant…
The bike.
Because sometimes…
the clearest thinking doesn’t happen at a desk…
it happens out on the trail.
This is Episode #29
of Volatile Revisioned.
