Why Not Us

Episode 30: Pastor Jamie & Dillon on Mens mens mental health

Dillon Phaneuf / Jamie Paton

In honor of Men’s Mental Health Month, we sat down together, not just as coach and pastor, but as two men who’ve walked through fire and lived to talk about it.

This isn’t a highlight reel. It’s the stuff we usually keep buried.

We talked about the father wounds we’ve both carried. The pride that keeps men from asking for help. The pressure to perform. The pain we pack down because the world expects us to hold it all together. We talked about what it’s like to lead, to break, to heal, and to come back different.

But this isn’t just for men.

If you’re a woman who loves a man, your son, your husband, your brother—this will help you understand what he might not be able to say out loud. We talk about how women can help carry the load, not by fixing it—but by seeing it.

This episode is a conversation between brothers. A look at the spiritual war behind the silence. And a reminder that wholeness isn’t about perfection, it’s about letting God touch the places we’ve tried to survive without Him.
