Drinking With Spirits
Episode 28: Terrors and Tales from the Trenches
"War. War Never Changes."
Ever drunk Baileys from a shoe, how about a cocktail from an artillery shell?
It's all about doing what you can with what you got. This week Emma digs us deep into the trenches in World War One. If you didn't study for your history test we got you covered, we get a crash course in the Game Of Thrones type politics of the world, but then we dig a little too deep and start to find some skeletons. We cover the terrors of No Man's Land, the cannibalistic trench trolls, and how the war was possibly won because of a statue of the Virgin Mary.
Keeping with our war theme, we have a cocktail that has an supposed origin of being shaken in a 75mm artillery shell. It's the cool and the classic French 75, who has recently come back into the zeitgeist of the cocktail world.
Remember that God was an ally, always drink responsibly, and don't be a dick.
