Drinking With Spirits

Episode 35: Surviving Out of Spite

Season 1 Episode 35

At first you don't succeed, do not try again. Sometimes it's best to just quit.

This week takes us up to the Big Apple, specifically The Bronx in the 1930s, when prohibition was in full swing and everyone had the greatest of depressions. Meredith brings us another Curious Case. This particular case being of  Irishman Michael Malloy who just would not die no matter how much wood alcohol or shrapnel sandwiches he consumed. It makes you wonder if he was being kept alive by divine intervention.

Our drink this week is a lot less toxic to human health than wood alcohol. We are sipping on the aptly named New York Sour, different take on the classic whiskey sour. When alcohol could possibly be poisoned by the United State's Government the ingredients of this cocktail helped make things taste better.

Remember to not commit insurance fraud, always drink responsibly, and don't  be a dick!
