Where is your Voice
Hi, my name is Erika and the LORD Jesus Christ, has been in life my whole life but I wasn't always opening myself up to receive him. Through many trials, setbacks, hurts, brokenness and sadness. I finally decided to allow him in my life and that was the best choice I ever made. Through this journey Jesus has taught me a lot about myself and shown me true love. So now I want to give some of the love Jesus showed me back on to others. This is why I was led to do Where is your Voice podcast because I noticed in my life that, the one thing that was missing was my voice and I know how important that is for others to be able to have a voice. So, my podcast is intended to help others through Jesus Christ to gain their voice back and their relationship with Jesus. I truly hope you listen and add input, ask questions but please let me know you are here so we can connect and share more love with each other while we share our love for Jesus Christ.

Introduction and Welcome
---
Has your faith been low? Yes. Even as a strong believer and your feet are planted in God, your faith can still get low because until we get to heaven. We will have a battle and our fleshly desires. Life gets hard at times, and when it does, your faith gets attacked. So before I jump in, my name is Erica and welcome to Where is Your Voice Ministries podcast.
Today's episode is called When Your Faith Is Fading. Five Steps to Rise Again.
Step 1: Put on the Full Armor of God
---
Step one, put on the full armor of God. I always know when my faith is low, there is a piece of that armor I did not put on. So let's go to Ephesians chapter six, verse 10 through 18. Finally [00:01:00] be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power, put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.
And after you have done everything to stand, stand firm, then. With the Belt of Truth buckled around your waist, with the breast play of righteousness in place, and with the feet fitted with the readiness that comes with the gospel of peace. In addition to all of this, take up the shield of. Faith with which you can [00:02:00] extinguish all of the flaming arrows of the evil.
One take of the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, and pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request with this in mind. Be alert and always keep on praying for all of the Lord's people. Hallelujah. This is the first step because Paul, who wrote this letter to the Church of Afic illustrating a Roman warrior.
Which they were used to seeing. Paul was speaking their language to allow them to see that this is a daily battle we are facing all day, every day with things we can't see. So you must prepare yourself for war, and if you are not prepared, you will not be able to [00:03:00] stand against the enemy. So that's why when my faith is low, I ask myself, which piece of this armor I did not put on properly?
Did I anoint my head with oil for the helmet of salvation? Do I understand my salvation? Today, I must remind myself about my salvation, and that is stating that if I had a diamond. That I paid a million dollars for, wouldn't I keep a close watch on that diamond? I'm sure I would not easily lose it, nor allow someone to steal it from me.
Well, I. That is our salvation. Jesus paid a high price for us, and knowing that helps me know that he will surely protect me because I am valuable in his eyes. Am I utilizing the sword of the spirit, which is the only [00:04:00] offense weapon we have, and that's the Bible. The only weapon you can use against the enemy.
Is the Bible. That's how Jesus defended himself against the enemy. When he was attacked on the mountain, he didn't scream at the enemy. He didn't say, leave me alone. He didn't start praising God. He used the word of God, the Bible, to defeat the enemy. I advise you. To find a few Bible verses and make that your war verse, and you repeat that verse all the time, especially on the days when your faith feels low.
Which leads me to step number two.
Step 2: Be Rooted in the Bible
---
You need to be rooted. In the Bible, eating the word of God like is food because it is. It's many scriptures that speak on not being afraid and allowing the Lord to be our shepherd, as in Psalms 23. Then in [00:05:00] Psalms chapter
corret: 56
verse three, it says, when I am afraid, I put my trust in you, and that is a verse that I repeat constantly when I'm afraid that Aniah 43.
, verse two through four says, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the holy one of. Israel your saver.
I give Egypt for your ransom, Kush and siba in your steed. Since you are precious and honored in my sight and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you nations in exchange for your life. That's coming from God himself, and he is stating how much he loves us and what he [00:06:00] would do for us.
And then again in Isaiah chapter 41, verse 10 through 11. It reads, so do not fear for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgrace. Those who oppose you will be nothing and perish.
Hallelujah. Let's just give a moment to take that in 'cause that is absolutely beautiful and that speaks to your faith. I could add more because the Bible is filled with uplifting verses about what God does for his children and why do you think he will put. So many of these verses in the Bible because he clearly knew we would need it.
So this is [00:07:00] why you must go to the Bible. It is a must. It's been times with me and it will feel like the world is on my shoulders. , it is times where I just feel like giving up and I will read the Bible and feel that peace as I'm reading it, but as soon as I walk away, all the anxiety. The depression, everything will come right back and I will have to go right back to the Bible and pick it up again, and usually I will be reading it until I fall asleep.
But when I wake up, peace is restored and my joy is restored, and then I am rooted in the Lord.
Step 3: Praise God and Worship
---
Step number three is start praising God and put on some worship music. I love to go on a walk and do this because. Now I'm active and iness isn't the place you wanna be in. When your faith is low. Go on a walk, then put on some worship music and watch how peace will [00:08:00] be restored.
This works for me. You can put on worship music anywhere, but the key is to get up and start praising. So you need to get up, move your body as you praise God, even if this brings you to tears. Allow that because you know, God catches. And count are tears. So get up and praise him in movement, not in idleness.
In Psalms 1 49 verse two through three, let Israel rejoice in their maker. Let the people of Zion be glad in their king. Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbo and heart. Then in Psalms chapter 47 verse one, it says, clap your hands, are you nation? Shout to God with cries of joy.
Hallelujah. This is also [00:09:00] not saying. You can't praise God sitting down because you can. But do that when your faith is high. When your faith is low, you need to get up and start moving and praise God and peace will be restored.
Step 4: Remember God's Past Faithfulness
---
Step number four, remind yourself of everything God has already got you through and ask yourself why would he stop now?
This is usually what helps me to endure patiently because suffering does come with being a Christian, and it's still things that I have prayed for and not received yet. So I have to remind myself is not that God isn't working it out for me, but sometimes I just want him to do it faster. I want it on my time and not his time.
So if I am suffering or I'm waiting on God to do something for me and my [00:10:00] faith gets low, I remind myself of every single time he has came through, every single prayer he has answered. And I remind myself of this verse in Romans chapter eight, verse 18 through 29. I consider that our present suffering are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
For this ion weights and eager expectations for the children of God to be revealed for the ion was subject to frustration. Not by his own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected and hope that the ation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought from freedom and glory of the children of God.
We know that the whole curation has been groaning as in pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we [00:11:00] ourselves who have the. The first fruits of the spirit groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship the redemption of our bodies for in this hope we were saved.
But that hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have. But if we hope for what we do not have yet, we wait for it patiently in the same way the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. We do not know what we ought to pray for it, but the spirit himself interes for us through wordless groans, and he who surges our hearts, knows the mind of the spirit because the spirit interes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.
And we know that in. All things. God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
[00:12:00] Just give it a moment and just let the spirit just sink in on that. Let that speak to you. 'cause when I look back on my life. I can see how this verse resonates in my life because in every past suffering that I have endured, it . It has brought out something so beautiful within me. So I believe when this verse says, I know my suffering now will not be compared to the glory that is revealed.
And I know when he says, all things work together for the good of those who love him according to his purpose and will, this is accurate to my life. It aligns perfectly with my life. And since that fit. In the past when I wasn't even thinking about God, it must fit now. Now I know I can patiently wait, joyfully wait, endure it because I know [00:13:00] God is working it out for me.
Then in Revelations chapter three, verse 10 through 11, it reads, since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is coming. On the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one will take your crown.
That's from Jesus speaking to the Church of Philadelphia. The only church he didn't rebuke out of the seven churches, and he said they endured patiently. And in that you have to ask yourself. Is my faith low because I want God to do something on my time because he has answered other prayers for me, and even if he didn't, he worked it out for his good and he knows better than I do.
So maybe I just need to be [00:14:00] patient and trust God that he will work it out like he does in my life many other times before.
Step 5: Focus on Jesus and What's Above
---
Okay, so this is my last step and there are a lot more steps you can take, but these are my top five that helps me, and my last step is to keep your mind on Jesus and what's above and not below.
This helps me when I'm suffering a lot, especially as a parent because. I started thinking about how much Jesus suffered for us and allows me to suffer joyfully. Let's go to Matthew 26, verse 38 through 45. Then he said to them. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.
Going a little farther, he fell on his face to the ground and prayed my father. [00:15:00] If it is possible, may this cup be taken from you. From me, yet, not as I will, but as you will. Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. Couldn't you Mankey watch with me for one hour? He asked Peter, watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away a second time and prayed. My father, if it's not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it may your will be done. When he came back, he again found them sleeping because their eyes were heavy, so he left them and he went away once more and he prayed the third time saying the same thing.
Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come and the son of man is delivered into the hands of sinners. Rise, [00:16:00] let's go. Here comes my betrayer.
I am just taking a moment and just allow the spirit to really speak to you with this verse because. It definitely just spoke to me. This verse helps me because Jesus prayed earnestly three times in tears and sorrow, and God did not answer his prayer. Why? Because God plan was better. Way better than we can even.
Think or imagine, and I have to remind myself that if I don't get my way, that is because God plan is better, way better than what I can think or imagine. I just have to be firm in my faith and trust that he is working it out for me. Another way this first helps me is because if Jesus suffered [00:17:00] for me, then I can surely suffer because my suffering doesn't even compare to what he did for me.
Then I view the outcome of his suffering, and I know that one day this will be temporary, and because of what Jesus did for me, I will never have to suffer nor lack. Nor fair nor cry, nor nor need, nor have any doubt because of what Jesus did. And I will get eternity with him and this life will be gone and the blink of an eye.
And until that moment happens, I will keep my mind on what's above and not things that are surely passing away. So those are my five tips that helps me when my faith is fading, and I hope that those tips will help you as well.
Closing Prayer and Final Thoughts
---
And before I go, I'm gonna go ahead and pray for our [00:18:00] faith and everyone's faith, because we always need prayer on our faith.
Right? Okay. And Lord, we come to you in the name of Jesus, God, and just thank you. Thank you for everything you have done, God. And we wanna thank you in advance for the things that we know you are doing, God. And we just wanna pray, Lord, that we can take in what. You said in your word, Lord, that we know that we can use your Bible to help.
When our faith is low, God, we know that we can put on the full armor of God to aid us in standing against the enemy. Lord, we know that we can view our past suffering and other testimonies. To restore our faith, Lord. And if all else fails, God, we can praise you in advance, Lord, on knowing that if you stepped in before you will step in again.
Lord, and I wanna pray for everyone who faith is low right now. That peace will be restored, Lord, [00:19:00] and that you will meet them right where they are at God so they can know. That you are there to comfort them and to aid them. Like you said in your scripture, you are holding us up with your righteous right hand and we believe that God, we know it.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. All right. I hope you have a wonderful day and I hope if you were feeling a little doubtful that faith and peace. What's restored for you today, and send this to someone else to encourage them. All right? Have a blessed day.
