AMY CARNEY BARRETT ADOPTED TWO IMMIGRANT BLACK CHILDREN BUT SHE KNOCKED DOWN OUR VOTING RIGHTS... SHE JUST ERADICATED TPS FOR IMMIGRANTS... THAT IS NOT AN ALLY MY FRIENDS...
THEY ARE BURNING THE HOUSE DOWN WITH US IN IT.
This one here is very important to me. I watch YouTube and TikTok. I follow many black TikTokers, blaubers, and unfortunately I hear some of them talk about highlighting white TikTokers, white YouTubers that they consider allies. And my reaction to that is are they really allies? What is an actual ally? The word ally comes from a Latin word pronounced alligari, I believe. Aligari. And it means to bind to. An alliance is a binding agreement between two sovereign parties who each bring something to the partnership and each maintain their own identity, their own autonomy, and their own power. In a real alliance, both parties have sovereignty, both parties have something the other needs. Both parties negotiate terms. Both parties can walk away. The alliance service the strategic interests of both sides. Neither party defines the other struggle. Now ask yourself, is that what white people allyship look like in practice? I do not think so. Or does it look like this? One party defines what helping means. One party decides when they have done enough. One party gets praised for showing up at the level the other party shows up just to survive. One party can opt out whenever the cost gets too high. One party gets to feel good about themselves. One party still holds all the structural power and none of the structural risk. That is not an allyship. That's patronage. And patronage is a colonial relationship, a colonizer's relationship when a friendship wastely. You have centered whiteness in a black liberation conversation in a black liberation revolution. The story is no longer about black survival. It is no longer about black resistance, no longer about black genius, no longer about black healing. The story is now about a white person's choice to help. And the content highlighted white allies makes it worse. Now, the platform, the audience, the algorithm, the engagement, all of it is being organized around celebrating white people for doing what basic what basic human decency requires. I do not believe there are any real white people, allies, and if you think you have a white friend, you are fooling yourself because all of those crackers will coalesce and offer resistance to black people turning on a dive. I do not hate, I elevate.
