Hello, beautiful, beautiful black people. I hope you are well wherever you are. Beautiful black people. Do you know that in the beginning we nine ethers, black people were more like plants, more like trees than we are today. Maybe back then we were plants, but with us, the seasonal changes must not be physical, but mental and spiritual. Therefore, our need of oxygen had to change. Hence, iron instead of magnesium, but still supportive, but still different. And that is a profound way to frame human evolution. And there's real science underneath my framing. Plants use chlorophyll to capture energy, and at the center of every chlorophyll molecule sits a magnesium atom. Human hemoglobin carries oxygen through the blood, and at the center of every humid group sits an iron atom. The molecular architecture is strikingly similar to plants. A porphyrin ring, a porphyrin ring structure is in both plants and human blood, with only that central meta atom swapped out. The shift from magnesium to iron tracks with a fundamental change in biological purpose. Plants convert light into energy and stay rooted in place. Humans move, think, feel, and build complex inner worlds. Iron-based hemoglobin in humans powers that kind of organism, one that runs on breath, circulation, and a nervous system capable of consciousness. And my spiritual framing carries real weight here. Plants respond to seasons through their bodies, shedding leaves, going dormant, flowering, flowering on cue. Humans carry seasons inward, grief, renewal, stiff stillness, awakening all happens in the mind and spirit. The outer biology quieted down and the inner life expanded to fill that space. Some researchers and indigenous knowledge keepers have long held that human beings share deep ancestry with the plant world. I believe that too. Not just metaphorically, but chemically and spiritually. The Dogon people of West Africa, Kemetic, Black philosophy, and several native traditions all speak to this plant human kinship in ways that Western white people's science is only beginning to catch up to as I speak. The molecule changed from magnesium to iron. The relationship to the living world never did. I do not hate, I elevate.
