And now let me introduce you to your host, nicola D Cross. Hello there and welcome back to episode eight of the Profitable Wellbeing podcast, and in today's episode, I'm going to be talking about marketing on a budget with the sole purpose of increasing your revenue and increasing your profitability. Now, if you're running a business, you know how crucial marketing is to attract your ideal client and to grow your business. But what if you don't have a big budget for flashy ad campaigns or expensive promotions? No worries, today we're going to talk about some practical and cost-effective marketing strategies that can help you reach your ideal clients without breaking the bank and, more importantly, without eating in to your profitability. So we're going to look at some creative ways to market your wellness business on a budget, to increase your revenue and profitability and make every marketing penny count.

Speaker 2

Before we dive into marketing strategies, it's essential to understand who your target audience is. Knowing who your ideal client is is going to help you tailor your marketing efforts efficiently. So grab a pen and paper and a cup of tea. First of all, we're going to define your ideal client. Start by creating a detailed profile of what your ideal client looks like. Consider factors like their hair, their gender, their lifestyles, their interests or their personal goals. Understanding these aspects will help you craft a marketing messages that resonate with them personally. You could use surveys or client feedback to gather these insights about your current clients and then refine them for who your ideal client is. Number two identify their pain points. Determine the challenges and their pain points your ideal client is currently facing. What's their biggest struggles regarding their wellness? Addressing these issues in your marketing will make your services more appealing and more relevant to them. Try using social media and your comments by asking questions of what the current problems your ideal client is having.

Speaker 2

Number three research their preferred channels. Ask yourself where your ideal client is currently spending their time online. Where do they hang out? Are they on LinkedIn? Are they on Instagram? Ask these questions of yourself. Where do you see them? Are they active on social media? Do they read blogs or do they prefer email newsletters? Knowing this information will help you choose the most effective channels for your marketing efforts. Monitor the engagements and see what social media platforms to understand which channels are most popular with your audience. To understand which channels are most popular with your audience.

Speaker 2

Now we understand who your audience is, let's explore some cost-effective marketing strategies that can help you attract clients and increase your revenue. I have today eight strategies for you to explore in your business, but there are many, many more. Number one is all about leveraging your social media. As you already know, social media is a powerful tool for reaching and engaging with your target audience. Focus on the platforms where your ideal client is currently hanging out and is most active. Create and share valuable content, such as care tips, success stories and behind the scenes glimpses at your business Research. When is your ideal client most active? Are they first thing in the morning or last thing at night, or sometime in the day? Understanding this data will help you target your content and schedule your posts so they will see them. Use free online design tools to help you develop and design eye-catching graphics and then schedule your posts accordingly.

Speaker 2

Number two start a podcast. Podcasting is an excellent way to establish yourself as an authority in your field and to attract organic traffic to your websites. Talk about topics relevant to your audience, such as wellness advice, success stories, how-to guides include call to actions to encourage readers to engage with you and learn more about your services, and relevant keywords and descriptions to get more people going to your podcast. Could you offer free workshops or webinars. Could you host a workshop online or a webinar demonstrating or showcasing your services and your expertise and how to attract your ideal client? Choose topics that address common issues or interests of your target audience and then promote these events on your website and social media channels. You can use platforms like Zoom or Teams to host webinars then promote them within your social media ads.

Speaker 2

Email marketing. Number four could you build partnerships and collaborations? Could you collaborate with another wellness professional or a local business that complements your product to help expand your reach? Partnering with complementary businesses can provide mutual benefits, such as cross promotions or joint events. Look for businesses or professionals with similar target audience to you, similar values to your business, and then propose a mutually beneficial collaboration. Number five utilize email marketing. Email marketing remains one of the most cost-efficient ways of reaching your audience and staying in touch with your clients and your prospects, building your email list and by offering a valuable resource or an incentive, such as a free e-book or a discount in exchange for the contact details. When you take client information details, ensure you take their email address and add it to your email lists.

Speaker 2

Number six engaging community events and networking. Participate in local events, local networking groups related to the wellness sector. This can help you build relationships, raise awareness about developing your business and attracting new local clients. If in-person events are not feasible or not your thing, look for virtual networking opportunities. Many online communities and forums offer networking opportunities for business professionals. Ask for client referrals from your existing clients, leveraging the power of word of mouth marketing by encouraging satisfied clients to refer other clients to your business. Consider offering a referral incentive, such as a discount or a free service to motivate your existing clients to spread the word about your business. You could create a referral program with clear guidelines and promote it through your website and social media.

Speaker 2

And finally, number eight create valuable content. Develop content that provides information to your target audience, such as how-to guides, downloadable resources or educational videos. Share this content on your website, social media and through email marketing and newsletters to attract and engage new and potential clients. Don't forget you can repurpose content across different platforms. For example, turn a blog post into a social media series or a video. So here are my top tips Create a social media content calendar where you're going to define the types of content for different audiences.

Speaker 2

Perhaps a social media post on a Monday informing about a new product. A personal post at the weekend highlighting something you're doing in your free time gardening, exercise your dogs and then perhaps an informative post later on in the week sharing valuable information regarding a pain point of your ideal client. Schedule a month at a time. Put key dates in the calendar your birthdays, your team's birthdays, key dates of events that you might attend and then fill in the gaps with your posts that you're going to make throughout the week. If you can only commit to 60 minutes a week, then just plan three posts. Don't overcommit yourself. Involve your team members. Encourage them to have their own social media pages where they tag your business in the post. If social media isn't your thing, look for the services of a VA or a social media assistant to help you and support you. Okay then, once we've decided on the marketing strategies, don't lose the momentum. Start implementing them by devising a detailed marketing plan. Start by listing the jobs you need to do, who can do them, delegate to your team or consider outsourcing the tasks if you don't have the skill yourself.

Speaker 2

Once we've implemented your new marketing strategies, it's absolutely crucial to measure their effectiveness and make adjustments where needed. Here's how you can track and optimize your marketing efforts. First of all, we need to monitor your key metrics, tracking the key performance indicators to assess the success of that marketing effort. The success of that marketing effort. Metrics to include website traffic, social media engagement, email open rates and conversion rates. You can use your free tools like your Google Analytics and social media insights to track the metrics that are important to you.

Speaker 2

Number two analyse and interpret the data. Regularly review your marketing data to identify trends and insights. Analyse what's working well, what's not, what needs improvement. For example, if a particular social media post is generating a lot of engagement, consider creating content similar for the future. Set up monthly reviews to assess your marketing performance and adjust your strategies. And finally, number three, make data-driven decisions. Use the insights from your data analysis to make informed decisions about your marketing approaches. Adjust your marketing strategies based on what's most effective for reaching your target audience and achieving your business goals.
