The 2009 Taconic State Parkway Disaster

On July 26, 2009, Diane Schuler was driving her children and nieces home from a fun family weekend camping trip. But what should have been a routine drive turned into a devastating nightmare when Diane suddenly began behaving and driving erratically, ultimately entering the wrong side of the Taconic State Parkway and traveling directly into oncoming traffic. Within minutes, Diane struck another car head on at 85 miles per hour, claiming a total of eight lives, including her own.
