SPEAKER_01

Scorers, scores, welcome back. It's your boy Sean Sug, Amos, man. We had a crazy, crazy night last night. Bam at a bio. 83 points, bro. 83 points. I got my guy E in the building. What's up, E? What's good, bro? Bro, you see, oh my goodness. E is a Kobe Bryant fan. Did you like, did you just look in the sky, put your Kobe jersey in the air and say, why? Why?

SPEAKER_00

Nah, man. Shout out to Bam, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, now shout out to Bam. Now, hey, look. So, as you probably already know, there's a lot of haters right now. A lot of haters right now. Oh, it was unethical and how he got it. It was nasty.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, come on, come on, come on. It wasn't nasty, bro. It was not nasty. Nah, it got nasty.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, listen, here's my thing, right? I've I watched the game. I watched the game when it I get alerts on my phone. So I'm not going to sit here and saying, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I was watching the whole game. But I was watching the Spurs versus Boston. And I'm looking at my phone. And I see, bam, 70, 71 points. What's going on? 74 points. I'm, you know what? I'm not even thinking it was bam. I'm thinking like the heat is up 74 because I'm kind of like glimpsing. I'm kind of like glancing at my phone. But I saw 74. I'm like, hold up, hold up. Let me let me turn and see what's going on. And I'm like, oh, they got six minutes left? Oh, oh, okay. And the thing was, the Wizards, they were trying not to let them get that record, though. So when guys are like, oh, it was nasty, it wasn't a good, they was trying not. They had two guys guarding them off the ball. They had two guys setting charges. And they got the charge. They were following other people, so they stop the clock and he doesn't get the basketball. So if you the opposite, if you the if you Bam's coach, you're gonna say, all right, man, come on out of the game, bro. They're not gonna let you get this, man. No, you're gonna compete. You're gonna be competitive too. I'm getting my guy that 80 points. Because now, because y'all don't want to play fair, y'all, y'all wanna, y'all wanna stop him from getting it, I'm he's gonna get it. And we have 40. The team objective is complete. We've won this game. I'm gonna make sure it's something he would never probably never do ever again in his life. He would probably never do ever again in his life.

SPEAKER_00

But bro, towards the end, bro, when he was checking up the threes, trying to get to the line. If you had bro, missed a free throw on purpose. Okay. You know what's funny about that part?

SPEAKER_01

I would have done the same thing. Like, I was looking at it, I was looking at the situation, and I thought to myself, if I was him, I would miss this free throw. I would miss this free throw. So, because I think at that point, I could be wrong. I want to say he was at 79. I want to say he was at 79 at that point. And I was like, I'm gonna, I would miss it so he can get the offensive rebound.

SPEAKER_00

But he didn't get it though.

SPEAKER_01

He didn't get it because they filed him.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

They filed him. So, no, no, no, no, no. They didn't follow him. They didn't follow him. Something else happened because I believe it went the ball went the other way. The ball went the other way. So I don't think they filed him. But it don't matter. We trying to get you 80. We trying to get you 82. We trying to get you eight, we trying to get you to the money.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, those are good teammates, though. I ain't gonna lie, you ben got some, he has a good teammates.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. See, this is why I keep trying to tell guys, right? We live in, people don't want to embrace the young guys anymore. People want to, oh man, it has to be done exactly how. No, you think about it. It's basketball. This ain't football where you all like you go, you run, you're trying to run from point A to point B. You trying to throw the ball from point A to point B. We all got helmets, it's played the same exact way. Basketball, one year a center can be the star player and win a championship. Another year a shooting guard can be the star player winning the championship. A point guard could be, or it could be a whole team effort. That's how basketball is. So you can't expect it to be played the same way forever. You just can't. The days of one person night in and night out saying, okay, just me. I'm putting up 29 a game, 27 a game, to average what I need to average. This guy's still putting up 30. This guy's still putting them points up, but now the points look a little easier. You know why? Because everyone on the court can get busy now. Kobe Bryant points was when he scored 81, it was tough. Pull up the roster. Pull up the roster for the raptor for when 80 when Kobe Bryant played um the Raptors. Pull that roster up. Because I'm gonna tell you the difference between today's basketball and yesterday's basketball. Yesterday's basketball didn't have a bunch of guys who get busy. Name some guys off that roster. Oh, you got you. Today, I know they had Lamar Odom. I think Lamar Odom had like 10 rebounds that game. I want to say, was Derek Fisher there? Derek Fisher was there because Derek Fisher only left once to Utah for a short stint. No, I want I won Lakers.

SPEAKER_00

Lakers had Lamar Odom, Kobe Bryant.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how to pronounce this. Uh his probably wasn't a factor.

SPEAKER_01

Go.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Kwame Brown.

SPEAKER_01

Kwame Brown.

SPEAKER_00

And Smush Parker.

SPEAKER_01

Smush Parker. Yeah, Smush Parker was there. That's why good.

SPEAKER_00

Chris Hemp Mimph. Mimph? Yeah. Uh-huh. Chris Mim. That's a starting five coming off the bench.

SPEAKER_01

All right, right there. Right there. Let's stop right there. Smush Parker. I like Smush Parker game. I remember Smush Parker when he played for the NBA Summer League. His number was number 17. That was the first time I seen someone wearing number 17. He played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and he was balling, in my opinion, at that time. I might not have been balling at this point in my life, but when I was young, I thought he was balling. He played for the Lakers. No. Kwame Brown definitely wasn't getting busy. Chris Mim definitely wasn't getting busy. Lamar Odom. I ain't gonna put that. I ain't gonna say cracking crazy about it. Lamar Odom was a dog. I ain't gonna listen. Lamar Odom, Lamar, listen, I don't want to get off subject, but Lamar with them snow white summers talking through me off. But anywho, at the end of the day, you got guys on the court who can get busy now. So it's harder to guard. It's harder to guard. So Kobe Bryant getting 81, yes, that was a tougher 81. 1,010%. It was a tougher 81. But let's be clear 81, 83, 80 me. I don't care what it is. It is hard to get 80 points. I guarantee you, if you play 2K, you don't get 80 points. You struggle to get 80 points. You probably score 80 maybe two times all year on a video game. Video game. And win by 40? Nah. So just imagine in person with NBA players. Just be like, like we we we gotta respect that. I mean, I I believe his his points or his um, yeah, I believe I believe it was violent. I don't think it was unethical. I'm gonna do the same thing for my players. I'll give y'all a quick story. One of my players, he was a senior, right? He's a senior. He was like, coach, man, look, I never scored 20 before. I'm three points away. We up maybe 15 points in this game. We up 15 points, maybe three minutes to go. I call the rest of my timeouts. I believe I had three left, just to keep drawing and play until we get his points. He didn't get his points, but look, I'm gonna still try for you. Can't put the ball in the hoop for you, but I'm gonna get I'ma try. Why? Because I understood, I understand as a coach that he would never ever have this opportunity again. I'm not sitting here saying that Bam won't get this opportunity again. I'm not saying that because he's still gonna play basketball, right? But what it's hard to score 83. It took 20 years for someone to break this. 20 years. We seen people get close. Joel M had about 70. We seen people get close. Donovan Mitchell, Luca, um, who? Damn Damon Lillard, Booker. We seen guys get close, so you know it's doable. Carl Anthony Towns. We know it's doable. We know it's there. And look at the names I'm naming. These guys ain't leading the league and scoring. They're the primary players on the team. Who? Oh, yeah, Luca is you right, you're right. Luca. They're the primary players on the team. But you gotta respect and you gotta embrace these young guys. We gotta embrace the new school, man. I don't know why y'all don't want the game to evolve. So many people just don't want the game to evolve. Like, why do you want the game to be the same? When Wilt Chamberlain record was broken in Philly by a guy named Maurice Rice, we loved it. We enjoyed it. We didn't say, oh, it's the public. Oh it they didn't have a they didn't have a three-point line back then when Wilt was playing. No. We said, dang, man, that's what's up. Because it's a hell of an accomplishment, man. It's a great accomplishment, and it's something you can't take away from this man. I don't care how much it threatens your favorite player's legacy. I don't care. And here's the thing on that. For the guys who are hating, it doesn't take away from Kobe. Kobe was still good and he's still great, he's still on everybody's top five, I hope. Like, it doesn't take away from him. It just means the game is improving. You got something for me, E?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so now we gotta have the conversation, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

Where do you rank this performance out there? Do you like what do you rank? Out of what? Uh out of the highest, out of players who score 70 and up, where do you rank Ben's performance?

SPEAKER_01

Best performance I've ever seen in my life. I mean, I don't rank it high. I I think that's a great question. I think that's a really good question. The guys who score 70 and up. I can't sit and say I've seen all of them, but it wouldn't be the top. It wouldn't be the top. You know what I mean? Like, and because I can imagine because I don't think I here's I think the 83 points had a couple things to do with it, right? Did he get hot? Yes. Right? I think it was more about the coaching, though. This is something that can encourage your team, can spark a spark the dog in your player. You gotta remember, too, he scored 83, but he scored 83 because he not to say he had to score 83, because he didn't have to score 83, but he had to come out scoring. Why? Because Tyler Harrell wasn't playing, Wiggins wasn't playing, Powell wasn't playing, so he had to come out balling. People forget he had 30 in the first quarter. Alright, so you ain't gonna stop it. Who else was gonna get the other rest of the points? You gotta keep it going. He had 43 at halftime. So I don't know where it ranks because I haven't seen all the games. Right? I I know Luga had like 60 something with like a triple-double at one point. Um, didn't Jokic have like a 60-point game or a 70-point game last night. Bam broke, look, I'm a LeBron fan. I like LeBron. Bam broke LeBron record last night. LeBron record was 61 points as a Miami Heat uh player. Bam broke that.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think a player's ever gonna break Wolf's record of 100 points in the game?

SPEAKER_01

I think so.

SPEAKER_00

You think so?

SPEAKER_01

I think so. I I think you give it you uh it all it takes is for a guy to get hot, man. Here's the thing. When I say the game change, right, I just think players is working on different stuff, man. I saw Bam years ago, three, four years ago in the gym there where I where I coached and I had some games there on weekends, and Bam was out there working out. He was working hard too. I think players work on. There was a time when you couldn't shoot a contested three. That was insane. A contested three, I get up, get him out of the game. Done, cooked. Now, guys can guys are working on closing out, shooting a three, closing out, shooting a three. They got back then it was one trainer, one trainer in the gym with you. They got three or four now. Double team, here two guys, four guys, four hands. Let me see, you should hit over four hands. That's how they play, that's how they work out now. If you go to Amazon right now, they have like silly, like, not silly, I didn't mean to say silly, but uh, I was gonna say like dummy defense. So it was like sending them to silly. But um dummy defenders with a hands just up like this. And got and and kids and young men are shooting 25 over top of it. 25 of them. They just working out different. So do I think Luca can get you 101 points one day? Absolutely. Luca can get hot one day. See, here's the reason why I think Lucan could do it. Because when he shoots, I'm like, man, that's that's off, bro. They can test. But he got that little hitch or that cockback to here, and then he released up top. Same thing with Nicole Jokic. These guys are training and practicing different, man. Was Bam 80 last five or four points uh sexy? Nah, it wasn't sexy, it wasn't nice. But I understood it. Real Hoopers understand what they were doing, and I would have done the same thing for my player. I I'm not letting y'all double my player to prevent him from scoring uh for breaking the record. No, stay in the game. Stay in the game. Now you do risk injury because somebody should have taken him out. Somebody on the way, listen, wizards. You know, you know, I know uh little I'm a little older, right? But I can play some defense. Nobody give me 80, bro. So let me know when y'all training camp is happening. Because I'm I'm I'm which listen, all it takes for me to play for a couple months and I'm back, that would never happen again with me on the roster. 81 points is crazy, man. I mean 83 points is crazy, man. Man, look, speaking of, listen, before we go back into basketball, right? I had this um, I saw this post, right? And it was giving Wale hell. They even Wale the rapper. Shout out Wale, man. Seemed like a good dude. We actually used he actually used to play at LA Fitness years ago, years ago. I mean shit, 10 years ago. But they was like, yo, somebody in the comments was like, yo, do you think Wale is dressing like an appropriate 40-year-old? Because you know Wale, like this, this he a sneaker head, and you know, he throw that shit on. You know, he's from DC, so you know he's gonna put you. You know what I mean? So let me ask you this, E. As a 40, as you know, I'm 40, right? You 24. How do you think a 40-year-old should dress? Should they be wearing athletic gear, athletic shoes still?

SPEAKER_00

No. Uh yeah, like uh like track suits, sweatsuits. I feel like that's appropriate. Jeans and a nice little t-shirt cap, business casual. I feel like that's appropriate. Anything like street wear, like the Supreme, or like what shade be putting on the Kuzma. Nah, you like you're doing a little too much for me, bro. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's different, right? When I was younger, the 40-year-olds, they they had their shirt tucked in, boot cut jeans with sneakers, balding in the middle of their head, dad hat, minivan. That's what the 40-year-olds looked like back in the day. Now, we outside with it. We are like, you know, the 40-year-olds don't look 40. They moved the 40-year-olds, low-key though. Low key. They definitely can they definitely can bag your girl in your mouth. Like, like I'm just I'm just keeping it to the I'm just keeping it a buck with you. They keep it in a buck. I'm keeping it a buck with you, bro. It's a 40-year-olds is different. I, you know, I'm I'm watching it, and I like street wear. I don't wear streetwear, but I do wear sweatsuits. I do wear loose clothes. Um when it comes to being 40 though, right? Here's the thing. I don't think it's necessary. I think there is an attire that you should wear. I don't think what Wally's doing is wrong or bad. Um style is style. I just think more about 40-year-old actions, right? There should be things at your four at 40 you shouldn't be excited about. Like, for instance, going out every weekend. Like, going out every weekend for me would be dreading. I'll just be literally like, oh my god, I gotta go to this damn club, bro. Like, I gotta go. They want me to come out. Uh at 40, no, I'm cool, bro. I'm cool. At 40 years old, chasing shouldn't be exciting. Anything, not just women, anything. Chasing money, all right. Uh, you say that I ain't get the job. All right, cool, man. Thanks, man. Thanks for the opportunity. I'm not following up, I'm not doing nothing else, I'm out. At 40, is like, listen, man, I've been fired, quit, missed opportunities, and still got it. It's gonna happen again. It should be a level of wisdom in there at 40. I think about um another thing that shouldn't be exciting, spending money. One point, spending money excited me for some reason. At 40, I dread it. I'll be like, ugh, damn, do I really need to eat today? I mean, I'm really not that hungry. I got water and fruit, and uh, you know what I mean? At 40, though, it should be, it shouldn't be things that excite you. The boring things excite me. Staying home. Staying home excites me. Like that, like that's like an accomplishment to me. Like, man, I was in the house all day. I'm dead ass. I I was in the house all day, bro. You know what I'm saying? That excites me, man.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes I'll be at you be talking, you'd be like, I'm at the crib all day. You seem you you seem excited to say that. You seem excited to say, I'm telling you. I'm in the crib all day.

SPEAKER_01

When you're 40, bro, that's the most exciting thing in the world to be in the crib all day. And you had to spend no money, all your entertainment comes to you or is around you. That's the fruits of your labor, right there, bro. That's the fruits. So at 40, what else excites me at 40? At 40, um, a fun night to me is watching a good movie. That watching a good movie is fun to me, bro. You know what I mean? Like, if I if I if I watch a movie and I'm like, man, that was a good movie. That was man, that is that that's some good stuff, bro. That's some good. If here's another thing that shouldn't cite. You either drinking every week. Like drinking just doesn't do the same thing it used to do for me. Like, if I if I drink some alcohol, it's like ah damn, I'm down bad for like three days. I get drunk. I'm just down bad because I put it in my body. Three days, easy. Um and then lastly, lastly, finding new friends. Not fun. Like, not fun, bro. Not friends to socialize with. I ain't trying to find no new friends to socialize with, bro. Like, we can be associates, but at 40, bro, just text me, gang. Just text me, bro. If it ain't about no business, it ain't about no plays. I'm in the crib. I'm in the crib with my lady. I'm chilling. I'm chilling, bro. Like, I'm home cooked meals. Life is good. Listen, I'll be real with you. At 40, bro, I go on walks. I go on walks. In my grab be like, yo, you ready to go on a walk? I go on walks, man. I got a dog. I walk my dog, and I might walk further than we usually walk. I might find myself walking three miles. Just walking, just chilling. See, there are times where I'm walking, drinking a glass of wine. Enjoying, enjoying my neighborhood, brother. That's what I do at 40. I'm chilling. Listen, at 40, it's a blessing to even put the uh shoes on. I mean to play basketball. Play basketball. I'm active. Like I'm not trying, listen, I hike, I box, somebody invite me to play basketball. I play basketball, and that's an accomplishment. Man, listen, I used to think 40 was washed. It might sound like it was good. I gave you, but you're not, though. You know how relaxing this is, bro. This is the most peaceful peace at peace I've been my whole life at 40. At your age, 24, I ain't know I was coming or going. I didn't know I was coming and going, bro. Like everything hits harder. You lose a job, you be like, oh, I'll never get a job again. I'm never gonna get one. You lose a girl, it's over. Take me. You ready to crash out over it, bro? You know what I mean? At that age, 24, I felt like I, you know, I felt like my 20s was longer than my than any decade ever in my life. I stayed up all night. Every 24 hours, I'm up 22 of them. I'm up 20, 20. I used to live for the night. I remember going to Vegas so many times in my 20s. Every time I went to Vegas, I used to never come in until the sun is up. Until the sun is up. There's some long days, bro. You know how much stress? Not knowing what school I was gonna go to, being in Colorado and the mountains, and nobody that nobody wants to go to. Altitude high, can't sleep. No, bro. Nah, I'm I'm I'm so grateful. I'm so grateful to be in the 40s. And then you got some style. You know, I do wear the score society thing. Speaking of score society, make sure you go to go toactivewear.com. Make sure you get yourself a hat, you know what I mean? To lock in. We do got the real hoopers hoodies. They out. The whole store is 15% off. All you gotta do is quickly use code Real Hoopers. Just use code Real Hoopers game. And it's not 40-year-old materials, it's just chill materials, basketball materials. You know, the materials great on it. You know, I'm just uh listen. If you did my score of society year is for I I just had a kid buy it the other day. It goes from nine years old to oh not nine years old, because I don't even got adult small, but 13 years old on up. So at the end of the day, the score of society is for everybody. Now, man, listen. I'm thinking to myself, I'm watching the game the other night, right? Or uh last night, and I'm watching Wimby. I'm watching Wimby, and I'm like, you know what? It's crazy. It because if Wimby stays healthy, he can literally, we could be, we'd be saying, yo, who's the goat in 10 years? Who's the goat for this generation? Because I because I I'm I stopped believing in the greatest player of all the players. It's just impossible. Is a non's gonna come up with a conclusion. I'm not gonna change no one's mind. So I do believe in generational GOAT stuff. And I I believe you're gonna I believe the argument is gonna go something like this. Who's the GOAT of this generation, the 20s? Is it Jokic? SGA or Wimby. Who's the GOAT? And I know Wimby hasn't won a ring yet. I understand that. But let's be honest and let's be real. The Spurs is championship coaches, championship winner. We know what the Spurs is capable of doing. They are successful right now with their best player average of 24 points. Meanwhile, Jokic got an average triple-double. Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards got an average 28, 29 points. Luca got an average 33 points. They got championship coach. They play the game the right way. All three guys are on teams that play the game the right way. Nicola Jokic's team played the game the right way. Spurs play the game the right way. OKC got a crazy system. Jalen Williams has been out most of the season. I think he only played like 25 games. If that. That's freestyling, so I could be wrong. I think 15 to 25 games, somewhere around there. Look, that's freestyling. And they still number one? They been number one all year. All year. Crazy system. It's a crazy system. So I do think I do like Wimby. Wimby had, he scored eight points. I'm not, I mean, eight points, excuse me. Eight threes, shot eight threes, made eight threes, whatever. Um another thing I like about it is that he's the heart and soul of that team. They got him changed at the celebration. They embrace him. The players look like they love playing with him. He's he's he's vocal. He's shedding a tear after a win. He's the heart and soul of that team, man. And another person who we don't talk about enough that's really flourishing on that team, that they really need to continue to play the same way he's playing, is De'Aaron Fox. De'Aaron Fox averaged 19 points this year, right? But here's a guy who averaged 26 points at one point. We knew he was good, but we was like, is he a winning point guard though? He's proving it now. He's proving it now. De'Aaron Fox, I want to see De'Aaron Fox win a championship because of that. Because of his stint in Sacramento. I think anybody who can survive Sacramento and get out and still have enough career left, you deserve a championship, bro. You deserve a championship. De'Aaron Fox was the staple cornerstone of that organization. He goes to the Spurs, minimizes role, and then boom, championship contender. I always say this though. Like, I not always, but there are players in the league right now who average a lot of points, but will be better if they average less. Like I was giving this, I was giving this game to my man E over here. I was telling him Trey Young. He ain't want to hear it because Trey Young is guy. I get it. But let's be clear. We watched Trey Young for the last six or seven years, averaged 26, 27 points, go nowhere. That means that's not a good 26, 27 points. It's not a good 26, 27 points.

SPEAKER_00

Is it him or is it the team around him? No, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Because guess what? Jalen Johnson had the team around him without him and Porzingis, and he was fifth at one point in the in the East.

SPEAKER_00

But look at them now, bro. They're dying. Yeah. They're going to be they they going, they ain't playing. With Jalen Johnson leading the forefront.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but Jalen Johnson, this is his first time leading that role. He's worth a try. He's getting you a triple-double. He's going to get you 25 points, 10 and 8. He's going to get you that. You ain't no way. Ain't no way Trey getting you that. He's going to get you assists, but the rebounds, the rebounds, you open, you can start a break or end up or end defensive possession. Depends who wanna get the rebound.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right. Rebounds is fair. Rebounds is fair. But yeah, yes, other teams around him to get the rebound.

SPEAKER_01

Again, bro. If I was a GM, a coach, I'm a coach. I can understand. Yeah, bro, you got 25 points, 27 points. But you don't play this defense. You're not tall in these areas. You don't do this well in this area. I'll let you go. I got somebody for you.

SPEAKER_00

He was killing. He was getting 25 points, giving you two assists. Treyon.

SPEAKER_01

25 points.

SPEAKER_00

But again, though, right? And he's also giving you what? Eight turnovers? Nah, he wasn't. Maybe this past he's trying to trick it, but previously.

SPEAKER_01

Turnovers used to be crazy. That's the only time I used to bet on Treyon. The overall turnovers. Four turnovers a game.

SPEAKER_00

Damn, I forgot about the turnovers.

SPEAKER_01

Turnovers go good. And you're the point guard.

unknown

Damn.

SPEAKER_01

And he came in shooting those logo threes. Remember he came in shooting the logo threes?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Let me let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. When you think of a three-point shooter, all right. Close your eyes. Think of a logo three-point shooter. Who you come up with?

SPEAKER_00

Steph Rodin.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Trey is third. That means he ain't even thought about you know, but you know he shoot logos. That means he didn't do that good.

SPEAKER_00

But he was, it's not like he's missing it.

SPEAKER_01

He was definitely missing it.

SPEAKER_00

You know why he was missing it? Because you're not thinking of him in your top two. Because Steph and them, they're they're like solidified, they're like, Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Trey, he's still building his legacy. He's been playing for eight years. He still changed the culture of Atlanta. We would no one was talking about Atlanta.

SPEAKER_01

That is not true. When they had Jeff T, uh Joe Johnson, Jamal Crawford, uh, Lou Will. They didn't go far. Trey Young took them forward. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_00

Trey Young took them where Trey Young can take them. They went to the Western Conference Finals, right?

SPEAKER_01

It wasn't in Western Conference. I mean, easy. He went to the state. Who did they lose to?

SPEAKER_00

I think who did he lose to? Was it Boston or Morris? One of them.

SPEAKER_01

I know they beat, I think they lost to Milwaukee. They beat one, they beat the Knicks that one time. I think they lost to Milwaukee the next round. But at the end of the day, what I'm trying to tell you is once you see what a team could do without you, it's time to go. That's why people don't take vacations when they work for companies. Because once the CEOs see that the company runs perfectly fine without you, you can't get your days. Now, once they saw Jalen Johnson, oh wait a minute. Oh 25 points. All-star. And we're going to get you eight rebounds with 10 assists. Oh. I mean 10 rebounds and eight assists. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Now, what if they have both? What if they have both Jalen Johnson and Trey? Can't.

SPEAKER_01

It's hard to have two guys averaging triple one. Like, it's hard to have that. I think that's the problem the Lakers have. The Lakers have two guys who can get you a triple-double, but and that's where they flourish at. So you so if LeBron's giving you 25 points, he wants to get you eight assists and eight rebounds. But he can't do that now. He can't do that now because now we got young, younger legs, fresher legs, faster, faster guys. So if you stay on the court, we got to slow it down a little bit. And then you got your primary option, who was Luca, who also could do the same thing. So we got to start developing that. Same thing with Trey and uh Jalen. All right, man, listen, we love your services, but this young boy doing what he needs to do.

SPEAKER_00

But I feel like that, that, I feel like Trey and Jalen could have been a dynamic duo.

SPEAKER_01

It wouldn't have been a dynamic duo. Because he's that they're not like, I mean, he because ultimately you need Trey Young to be a score, but he's a point guard sides. And it's just, and it, and all those guys always get the short end of the stick. No, no, no pun intended. No pun intended. They always get the because you gotta think, Isaiah Thomas was averaging like 31.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He was bouncing around like a ping pong when he was done with him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he got injured though.

SPEAKER_01

He got injured, but look, they did, they didn't even want to give him an opportunity to do it again. Tracy McGrady was injured for the Knicks, the Spurs. You didn't even know he played for them teams.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And guess what? They kept giving him a chance because he's 6'8 6'9. Okay, I see. When you when you short, listen, Forever and Fleet, don't do that shit again, bro. They was expecting you to be there this year. You get injured one more time, you out of there, bro. You out of there. The small guards is dispendable. You can we can and they interchangeable. We can get in more of those. They everywhere. We can go to any school we want. We can find somebody. How tall is he again? Trey. 6'1? We can find somebody 6'1, bro. Find someone 6'1. Uh speak speaking of Jalen, but not Jalen Johnson. Let's talk about Jalen Brown, bro. Jalen, what you doing, man? You cost your team a win. Y'all could have won. At least been in a chance had a chance to win. You get ejected because you can't control your emotions. Yeah, I get it. Yeah, I get it, bro. The referee's not that good. I get it. But you can't get two tech. That means if you get two technicals back to back, you just wouldn't stop. Pause. You just like, come on, bro. Like, you gotta be honest, right? You've been a star player for your team all this year. In my opinion, I think you're in a conversation of an MVP. Right? Jason Tatum is on a minute restriction, 27 minutes. So he can't play the whole game against the Spurs. Derek White is now forced to step up. Get y'all 34 points. Great. 7 for 11 for 3. So at the end of the day, Jalen Brown had 8.7 assists within 15 minutes. You was about to go off. Gotta control your emotions, gang. We gotta control our emotions in these minutes. And I'm not trying to be hard on Jalen Brown, but it's more so about the kids, man. The players. The players. I want y'all to learn from this this terrible moment from Jalen Brown, man. You got anything?

SPEAKER_00

I feel like the refs gotta do better, though. The refs do gotta do better. You know what I'm saying? The refs do gotta do better better. At least because it's a prime time game, Celtics Whispers, and it was another ref who came through and gave him the second tech. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

I I do think it could have been better, but again, though, I watched it, he just walk away. Like you said what you have to say. Get your tech. Just your first one. Let him know what time it is. Great.

SPEAKER_00

But you don't think the rest got to give him time to calm down too, though?

SPEAKER_01

I do think, but I don't know what's said though. Like I feel like that's the thing about it. I don't know what's said. Like, everything ain't about calming down. Like, if you if you would you let somebody disrespect you and then be like, man, I should give him some time to calm down.

SPEAKER_00

See, that's different though. I feel like it's different because we're in real life. If I'm if I'm a if I'm an NBA ref, I'm gonna give him his first take, but I'm not gonna give him a second set because I know the scenario and I'm gonna give him time to calm down as well. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

I get that too. That's what I'm saying. I don't know what was said because everybody would have said that's the same thing you said. Just give him time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But because it was so quick back to back and then two different reps, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. You out of here, bro. Yeah. You probably what if you say something about your wife? Then what? Give him some time to calm down. Give us some time to calm down, huh?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I got to, bro. I got to.

SPEAKER_01

You gotta give him some time to calm down, bro.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna met up the people, man. I'm gonna met of the fans.

SPEAKER_01

You gonna give us time to calm down? You say something about your wife? Yeah, I'm you say your wife chasing like honey in a cherry girl. Then what?

SPEAKER_00

He's out of pocket for that.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so so does he get a text?

SPEAKER_00

No, you gotta go home, bro. Oh, you gotta go home.

SPEAKER_01

So you don't know what he said. You don't know what he said. Yeah, you don't know what he said, bro. So that that that's that's how that's how I'm coming, but you know, Jalen Brown, bro, man. Shout out to you, bro. We can't. Oh my man, Joe's on your mom. Relax. You know what I mean? All right. Uh I was having this debate or this conversation, not debate. I don't really like the debate. This conversation on live the other night. I always like who the top small forward. I had a guy on there, he's he's super cool, cool guy. He always on there, but he was like, Yeah, Dort. I'm like, yo, bro, Lou Dort is not. He said Lou Dort was number one. I'm like, yo, bro, you sure you ain't talking about Jalen Williams? But even then, he hadn't played a lot this year. No, I'm talking about Lou Dort. Lou Dort reminds me of a Dennis Rodman who can shoot threes. What? Wait, what? This is why I don't listen. This is why I don't like to debate, and this is why I don't answer all the emails and stuff or questions or whatever. Because most people have this knowledge. Good guy. He stayed on the live. I kept him on the live, but you know, at the end of the day, I'm like, Lou Dort. Where are you getting Lou Dort? Um, but then I had to think to myself, damn, who is the top small forward? And I and I got five, I got at least top five. Everybody else gets a little choppy, and it's like whatever. Like, okay, cool. You just naming people at that point. My first one is KD. Katie is super efficient, in my opinion. Well, in your opinion, too. Shoot, he shoot at 66%. Um, not only that, he's also averaging 26 points. 26 points a game. He has a team with no veteran leadership. He's still flourishing. And his 17th, 18th year of his career, I think, I think they're third in the Western Conference. That's big time. That's big time. I like, I like, I like my guy KD at uh the number one small four right now. The second one, the second one, right? I'm gonna go with Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi Leonard's also efficient. He's also averaging 27 points. The best thing, the cool, the best part about Kawhi Leonard's year this year is he's played 50 games out of 64. And that's a hell of an accomplishment. Not to mention all the stuff he had to go through off the court this year. Then he had to come to the court where you usually use his mind to escape, well, at least I did. Oh, James Harden is out of there. Bradley Bill, he's injured for the season. Chris Paul, we gotta get him out of here too. Now he's now he's just whooping. Now he's balling. And they did an impressive win over the Knicks a couple years ago. I was about to say a couple years ago, a couple days ago. So I like I like my guy uh Kawhi Leonard at number two. Number three, Jalen Johnson. We just talked about Jalen Johnson. He has a big role to fulfill for that team. They're knife in the east right now, and I think that just comes with experience, but over the years, you will see him uh expand his game. Because he is playing for teams like the Hawks or a team like the Hawks, where it's no system, it's more of a free range, and you can kind of do what you need to do. So in the average in 20, what, 20, 25, 10, and 8? That's tough. That's tough. Then on the fourth, I gotta get my boy Brian, bro. Braun is four on my list, man. Talk about a 41-year-old, 41 years old doing how he wants to do it. 41, bro. And he's had to learn a different role for this team. He had to learn a different role. So I gotta give Brian his credit. I gotta give Brian his credit. And lastly, man, Dylan Brooks, bro. Dylan Brooks averaged 21 points. And he came back with a deeper bag when it came to scoring. So you know he's been in this bag with. Working. Um, that's all I have, man. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Let me know what you guys think. Is that a violent top five? Now, lastly, before I close out, JaVel McGee. Yeah. Yeah, Shaq. What you guys say now? JaVel McGee is over in uh, what is it called? Um, Illa Ilawarra, Illawarra, uh, Australia, averaging 20 points to 10 reaping on. I saw some of his highlights. He come up. Three. Getting to the Baja, going down lane. He's coming down. Spin move. Oh, excuse me. Getting to a dollar. Making making a change and difference. And I'm J and I think guys owe him apology. I think uh Shaq. Shaq owes him an apology, man. Yeah, he bowed him apologies. JaVel, Jael McGee out there balling in uh the JaVel McGee twos. You ever had them? Not they they they was uh Peak. You remember, remember this the shoe brand, the sneaker brand Peak?

SPEAKER_00

Nah, never never heard of it, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. They had JaVel McGee had his own shoe. Yeah, yeah. He's playing. He was he even does 50 on the Jael McGee twos. Yeah, yeah. Would you get JaVel McGee's? Nah, I wouldn't get it. Wow. Hey, look, I'm a fan of JaVel. I might have to give you some peaks.

SPEAKER_00

How do you feel about NBA players going overseas and killing? You think that has this as a testament to their game? To like, and he's 38 years old.

SPEAKER_01

It says a testament to the league. How good it is. I've yet to see someone who really trains and really works hard and probably just wasn't the person for that NBA team. They go overseas and don't make and don't kill it. I do like that about him. Um but yeah, it speaks to the league, though. It speaks to the league. And it speaks to your, yes, it speaks also speaks to your talent at that point. Because you're looking at it like, damn, like he that good. Like he could just come over here one, like, just fly over here in one day and just score 40. Like it took me a long time to understand this conference, understand this stuff. So it was a little different. Um, another thing that Shaq wanted to hide from you guys, but I'm gonna, but I'm gonna reveal it. JaVel McGee also won three championships. Won three championships. Shaq wanted to do Shaq didn't the fool, Shaq did the fool. No, bro. You're the fool. No, I'm joking. But uh, but look, you're definitely a fool. Definitely a fool for thinking my boy JaVel McGee wants to step up. He's 38 years old doing his thing, so shout out, shout out them both, man. Shout out to them both. All right, man. There you have it, man. Another show for the for the real hoopers. Real Hooper show with your boy Sean Sha Gamus. I got my guy E. Until next time, let's continue to think elite. And together, welcome to Score Society.
