What inspired you to play basketball, bro? Like where what was the what was the moment you was like, you know, I don't play basketball? My friends.
SPEAKER_06My friends?
SPEAKER_02Was they even good? Yeah, they were it was all right. It was all right back in the day. Were you the were when you started playing, were you the the best? No, I started playing, I never hooped. Oh, okay, okay. So I'm I was over here thinking to myself, you know, we we got the real hoopers hoodies out, and it made me think to myself, like, when did I really say I'm gonna play basketball? What made me fall in love with basketball? And what made me fall in love with basketball, bro, is, you know, I was I was a little knucklehead, a little knucklehead running around with my my with guys who were older than me, and they were doing stuff like stealing cars and and and doing stuff we shouldn't be doing at 13, 14 years old. And then I had one friend, I'm looking, I'm looking at you, I had one friend who who uh he he was playing AAU. My friend was playing AAU, and he was telling me how much he was traveling. He was telling me how much he traveled, and it wasn't a lot of travel. I'm from Philly, so traveling at that time was like Philly to Merlin, which was like two hours, or Philly to Connecticut, which is like four hours or so. And he was telling me, like, yeah, man, you know, I'm about to go out here and go there. And then I'll never forget him calling me one night and was like, Yeah, man, we just got back from the Charlie Weber tournament, man. He's he's telling me all the fun things, all the fun tales about AEU. And and I don't think I could tell him is how we was looking to steal this Dodge. Let's still this Dodge, you know? And then I, you know, I wasn't all the way convinced, but I was envious in that moment. And then it became a thing where I had a, I ran into a fork in a roll. You know, I've been telling my friend, like, yo, bro, I'm gonna come to AAU practice. I think I went to one or two at that point, and I liked it. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed, I enjoyed what basketball brought to me. And then one of my friends who was on the other side, right, because I also used to rap with these guys, but they was trying to live out their rap. And he was like, Look, man, you gotta come to the studio because we got this manager and he likes the way you rap. He wanna see you rap in person. So I was like, all right, bet, I'm gonna come. But the studio time was at the same time as AAU practice. And we had a tournament. We had a tournament coming up, and if you missed that practice, you wasn't gonna play in a tournament. So I had to make a decision. I made a decision to go to the AAU practice. That same night, three out of the five guys who raped got locked up because they wanted to go rob someone or whatever the case may be after the studio session. And that was never my thing. I've never robbed anyone in my life. Um, but that was what they decided to do because that's what they wanted to live up to. And needless to say, they did some time for that. And I went on to be a college basketball player. And then, you know, the the movies and stuff that kept me in it was movies like Above the Rim. And um, and uh he got game. He got game, kept me motivated. I watched it every single morning before I worked out in the summer. So that was that was my real Hooper story, man. You know, you with your boy, I'm your boy Sean Sugamus, and this is uh the real Hooper show on my guy E. What's up with you, E? How you doing, bro? Doing good, bro. Yeah, man, you know, you know, we all got them, we all got them forks in a row where you gotta make a real decision. And I and I'm so thankful for basketball being uh the difference maker in my life. Difference maker in my life, and I'm proud of that. I'm super proud of that. Uh, you know, I would I speaking of my nickname, right? My nickname is Suge, right? So I used to tell people, like, my grandmom gave me the nickname, but that came from like rapping. I just the only reason why I use the grandmom thing is because I didn't want people to be like, yo, spitaverse. Let me hear you rap. Like up, bro. Get away from me. But I like the nickname because Sean is okay. You know, you know, it's an Irish name, though. I'm not, do I look Irish to you? I'm not Irish, brother. You know what I'm saying? So I don't, I, so I just run, I just roll with Suge because I think it's a cooler name. But obviously, it has like a negative stigma, right? Because of Suge Knight or whatever. Um, and then, you know, I'm watching Gil's Arena and Kenyon Martin. He he goes, or he, I guess he calls somebody out, one of the staff or a guy who was his friend, apparently. His name was Suge, too. And I was like, what the heck is what's going on out here? Um, did did you see that? Kenya Martin check his boy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I saw that.
SPEAKER_02Or or the staff, I don't even call up his boy or what. I know he was just really big on him coming to a house and his family or whatnot.
SPEAKER_01They seem pretty close. I feel like everybody on that staff, they seem pretty close. I watched the show, I'll be watching, I'll be tuned in. Okay. So they seem pretty, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02Closey. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know what?
SPEAKER_02I gotta say this, right? I can't tell anyone how to handle their business. I can't tell anyone how to react to things they that offends them. You know you're gonna explain what happened. Uh I mean, no, I'm gonna explain it. Um Kenyon Martin, Kenyon Martin, he he felt as though the I his name is like Ryan, I think, or something like that, but his nickname is sugar. But he he felt as though the guy talked about, was talking about a speech impediment, Kenyon Martin's speech impediment. And to Kenyon Martin, for for Kenyon Martin, that's very, you know, that's very personal to him. That's very personal to him, and he felt like, yo, I trusted you, I trusted you around my family, I trusted you around, you know, my wife, I put money in your pocket. How dare you try to embarrass me like this? How dare you to talk about my speech impediment, right? Because he he he expected a different level of respect and loyalty, which is fair, which is fair, and I think he should, right? But here's my thing. I think he gave it more attention than it had to be. Like, I don't think it needed that much attention. I think the speech impediment thing is something that's that's personal to him, but as a fan of Kenyon Martin, I I never cared. I never even noticed. I never watched a Kenyon Martin's interview and said to myself, man, listen to that speech impediment. How does he get all this money with that speech impediment? I never said that. Like I can I think Kawhi Leonard's laugh stands out more than his speech impediment. You know what I mean? Like, if like I will I will watch a Kawhi Leonard's interview with the hope steady laugh. More than I would listen to a Kenya Martins interview or him on Gil's Arena and listen for his speech impediment. Then the thing is, too, we don't live in that world anymore. Like, if you don't have the perfect grammar, you won't be successful. We don't live in that world anymore. In a world where people have podcasts, like we got guys who came out of jail, guys who dropped out of school, guys who and women who don't have the best grammar but have hundreds and thousands of followers. You think they care about that? You think their followers care about that? You think we actually care about that? We don't. We don't. Maybe they care about it in the the high-scale professional um environment. Maybe NBC cares about it. They want to give you a job, but you make your money doing podcasts and nobody cares. They care about you and they care about your brand, they like you. Like, for instance, Draymond Green said, I mean, pretty much alluded to uh Kenya Martin not being as good as he thinks he is, or whatever the case may be. And Kenya Martin had a fan base that rolled for him. You know? We wasn't thinking, we wasn't posting videos and talking about his skill set, thinking to my thinking to ourselves, but he got that speech impediment. Like, like nobody really cared about that, you know? Then I don't think Kenya Martin understands what we expect out of him, right? Like we know him as an enforcer. Obviously, we don't want him coming in rooms enforcing anything. We don't need that at this age, at this time of our lives. But we do expect um, we do expect blunt takes. We do expect him not to take any BS, and that's what he delivers. That's what he delivers. He don't seem like a guy who takes any BS. He take he has blunt takes, and we're appreciative of it. When he gives his opinion on the NBA, gives his opinion on players, we expect him not to hold back. That's what we expect. We don't look at any of these basketball players looking for them to have the best grammar, the best financial advice, none of those things. We just look for it as an entertainment piece. That's it. I think he gave it more light than it sh than it than he needed to. I think he gave that guy too much, too much um airplay, gave him too much attention. But hey, like I said earlier, I cannot tell people how to react when it comes to their emotions and feelings. Speaking of emotions and feelings and reaction, you see my boy Jay Will? See my boy Jay Will, J Dub, White Chocolate, at Barstool Sports, he had to check them boys, man. You see? You know, I knew he was from Florida, bro, but not that part of Florida. He said he's gonna he gonna F his put the ass. No, Chris, AJ Will, man. What were we doing out here, brother? What if you take a look at the biggest thing? Listen, I like I like J Well. I talked about him before. I just got the mother.
SPEAKER_05I didn't see the minute. What do you got? What I have seen is this where I'm gonna talk about the pussy. I'm not a real woman. You can say anything you want. NBH.
SPEAKER_02This is the loser. So the dude was probably talking to his shots. He looked a little younger. He looked a little younger than Jason Williams. So he like, look, man, this is my time to show you. I can do this, I can do that. You know? Uh, and then he got carried away. He didn't know he was from, he didn't know he was from that part of Florida. He he thought he was from the nice part of Florida, the suburban part. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Jason Williams was out on some hood. He was on some YM Florida. Yeah, so you gotta you gotta be cool sometimes, man. You gotta be cool, man. You gotta be cool with all that type of stuff.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that is how you gotta, if you're if you're an ex-pro, that is how you gotta treat those situations. I feel like let them know, like, this level to this, and you're not on my level. You leave on the other.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you treat it that way through play. You gotta be like, so you say I'm gonna I'ma knock you out. You gotta go that route? Yeah, you gotta go that route with your co-worker? Remember, they're co-workers.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean Pussy ass. At the same time, it's competitiveness, right? So it is competitive. So that's all I'm saying. If you're gonna step on the court, you're gonna start talking crazy. I'm an NBA player. This is like this is this is how we talk on the court. You feel me?
SPEAKER_02But here's the thing though, right? I don't think if now the other dude was saying, I'm gonna put you on your ass when next time you go to the next time you go to the basket, that's different. But I didn't hear that. I just heard, I just heard Jay Will and I just heard them argue about the score. You know what I'm saying? When it gets to the point where you're threatening guys, and I'm not sitting here saying that Jason Williams was threatening him in like a uh, you know, a way where someone should be scared or fearful for their life. But when you start saying, listen, man, you start calling guys out of their name, we taking it to another level now. You know what I mean? When you're on the court, listen, I can be competitive all day, but the moment guys start calling me out my name, pussy ass, and all that, he's like, then you start doing all that, then listen, but what are we talking about here? Like, where are we gonna take this? You know, like it's okay to talk about, yo, you know, I got I got an NBA ring, you got a wedding ring. All right, that makes sense. Ouch. You know what I mean? Yo, you got that hairy ass chest. All right, I see what's going on. Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm too young to have a hair on my chest. I get that part. But then when you start calling me a pussy, I'm gonna knock you out. What are we doing, bro? Like, how are we gonna handle this?
SPEAKER_01That he he said that, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah, bro. Wrote a clip. You'll see it. Yeah, okay. Wrote a clip. You know, Lakers played the Rockets the other night. I watched that. I watched that game. Did you watch that game?
unknownNo, bro.
SPEAKER_01Laker Nation All Day, bro. You don't watch it, bro.
SPEAKER_02He's the biggest casual. I actually most of the listen, when I make content about casuals, I'm really making about him, y'all. Like, you know how like rappers, you know how rappers make songs and they had a and they verses they like, you got you gotta watch the people around you can't trust. And they all be in the studio. That's how that's how I do to my guy E. When I talk about casuals, I'm really sublimately sending him shots and letting him know he gotta step his game up because he damn sure don't watch every game. He only watched the Lakers games, man. Uh what you think about the Lakers game? What you think?
SPEAKER_01I thought I thought it was a good game. I thought Luca Luka put up, showed up. I wanted to see more from Austin Reeds, but that's okay. Yeah. But you look at his thing to help us with team win that game, y'all.
SPEAKER_02You know what? The thing about having players who can score, you're always gonna want more out of them, obviously, right? I mean, yes, Luca put on a show. I think he had about 36 points. I don't have it written down here. But you want more out of Austin Reeves. I think when with the second and third option, like I told you early on in the season, it there's always going to interchange. You're always going, there's going to be times Reeves has 16 points and Bryan has 27 points, and it's going to be vice versa. You know, so I think they did a good job. That was the first time I really see them play good defense. They played really good defense, really good team defense. I wasn't necessarily um looking for the the man-to-man defense. I was more so concerned with the team defense, and the team defense was really good.
SPEAKER_01This might be a trend because they also did play good defense uh towards the end of that Denver game while Sari trying uh front jokic. So this might be uh it might be.
SPEAKER_02I think they could I think it's about stacking days. I think it's about stacking days. You stack your days and you do good going that route. Um, but yeah, I I think it was a good game. KD, I like that KD came out and said, uh, you know, I take full responsibility. I take responsibility for the team losing. I think he should. I mean, they depended on him to score 27 points a game. He had about, I believe, 17 or 18 points. He scored two points in the fourth quarter. You gotta be better. You gotta be better, but it's not all on him. Excuse me. It's not all on him. I think sometimes you have a bad night. I think it was just a bad night for him. I think it was a bad night for the team. Ahmed Thompson, who played really well that Christmas game, had 26 points. Believe he had uh how many points did he had last week or the other day? I believe 14. 14 points. Um, or maybe that was Singoon in the first game. But Amon Thompson, I know yeah, 18. Iman Thompson, no, yeah, yeah, 18. I want to say, but nonetheless, uh 19 points, I knew it was something right there. Nonetheless, the Rockets team has to be better. It's not about necessarily KD all the whole time because you still have teammates. You still have teammates. Luku was playing Amon Thompson, just backing off of him, just daring them to shoot. You gotta be better. You gotta get in the gym over the summer, my boy. You gotta get in the gym over the summer. He Amon Thompson played 41 minutes, uh Shep played 31 minutes. Maybe Shep takes some of that, uh takes some of those minutes because he can hit a three, gives gives KD uh an opportunity to pass to a shooter, but then it on the defensive side, they just keep taking advantage of Shep. So it's just a roster thing, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_01No, those are the two things that I want to I want you want you to comment on. So there was a stretch in the fourth quarter. Um KD hasn't attempted a field goal. I think it was like six minutes, six, four or six minutes going to the fourth. Katie KD, Kevin Arant. He had an attempt to field goal in the in the in uh in the fourth quarter. Right. And then there was also a stretch where no team could score. The score was capped at like 90. No one, nobody can score. So, like, what do you think like the Rockets should do? When it's gets when it gets like that, you're depending on KD to score.
SPEAKER_02Well, here's the thing I don't like towards the end where KD always has the ball as a point guard. That's your score. As you as a score, get that basketball up early, run off some screens, be ready to shoot, ready to hit the shot. When it stretches where teams not scoring, that's part of the game. It's nothing you've I don't think they're they're purposely not trying to score. I think it's just the ball not going in the in the hole. Pause. And I don't think it's nothing you can do about that part, but I do think KD should get a ball up early so he can get the ball later. You know? Another piece they were missing on uh Monday for the Rockets was Singoon. Singoon wasn't there for the Christmas game. He had 14 points and 12 rebounds. They lost by eight. They lost by eight the other night. That that that's where you that's where you make that up, you can pass the ball to Singoon at the elbow or top of the key, he can make a play, right? You don't have that anymore. You got Capella down there, you got you got guys who can't make the same play in the same reads like Singoon, and you lose a game. So so I I definitely appreciate that KD speaks out and says, yo, it's it's on me. This one's on me. As you should. But I don't look at it and say, okay, he's just not a good superstar. I just look at it like, yo, it was a bad game, bad night. Another team played better. They won by eight points. You you're your support and cast wasn't hitting the same shots they hit on Christmas. And it happens. They play again tonight. They play again tonight, and we'll see. We'll see if they change some things up. Uh Kevin Durant, speaking of, keeping it, keeping it on Kevin Durant. Someone asked me, do I think Kevin Durant jersey should be retired in both OKC and the Warriors? And my answer is yes. My answer is yes. When it comes to having your jersey retire, obviously you don't need to win a championship. You don't need to win a championship to have your jersey retire. It's really about what you bring to the city. What love, what joy, what excitement you brought to the city. Is the excitement that you brought to the city? Is it good enough to keep people out of your jersey? Is it good enough to stop people wearing your number moving forward? And when it comes to Kevin Durant for OKC, the answer is yes. Up until this amazing run that OKC is having right now, when you thought of OKC, you thought of Kevin Durant. You thought of Kevin Durant and the things he that he did for the city. When we kept up with OKC all those years he was with, uh, or Kev or Kevin Durant was with OKC. We thought of we thought of him. We thought of him, we thought of his MVP years. We thought of his MVP years, man. So heck yeah. And then they Don't win without, or the Warriors don't win without KD. They don't win without KD, bro. Like, I don't care when nobody says, oh, the Warriors won before him. Nah, let's be clear. Let's be clear. Kyrie Irvin, Kevin Love was out. It was just LeBron and the game. They won that. They won because LeBron didn't have a supporting cast. They came back. The supporting cast is there. They came back from a 3-1 depth, a 3-1 league with the Cash. They say, look, we need KD. KD comes, joins the team, average 26 points a game, and guess what? They won two championships. And guess who finals MVP? That's right, KD. So why wouldn't he have both why wouldn't he have his jersey retired at both cities? Why wouldn't he? How about you, E? Do you feel like Kevin Durant deserves how many, how many? I mean, he's played for a lot of teams. He's played for well, he's played for OKC, played for the Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, the Suns, the Rockets. That's all of them. Should he get retired for all of them?
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. I feel like just the Warriors. And if he gets, I feel like Westbrook should get retired first before KD.
SPEAKER_02Why?
SPEAKER_01Westbrook did I feel like he did more for the city.
SPEAKER_02He did more for the city.
SPEAKER_01He was there longer. He was there longer.
SPEAKER_02I don't know about more for the city.
SPEAKER_01That's him doing more for the city? Being there along the city.
SPEAKER_02I think that's fair. I think that's fair. I don't think he should get it. I don't think he should get a retirement before him, though. KD was there before. Russbrook.
SPEAKER_01You're right. You're right. But I feel like the just the weight, I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I think Russbrook, listen, Westbrook, Russell, huh? Westbrook did a great job, but I don't think I don't really think it should matter who get retired before. But then if it did, if it did matter to you, I say KD. KD was there first. KD, when the Seattle went to um Oklahoma, we follow Oklahoma because of KD. We follow Oklahoma because of KD. So I I I don't think I don't think uh Russell Westbrook should get his jersey retired before him.
SPEAKER_01If it's like KD started off OKC, like he started, he sparked, he sparked a spark carry. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02First MVP player for OKC.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02That's what I leave the led the first player to leave the league and scoring for OKC. First of his kind. Generational talent, man. Generational talent. I ain't gonna I ain't jacking that one. Speaking of generational talents, you see my boy Brian, he's signing shoes now, man. I thought that was you for a little bit, eh? Please. Please. Hey, but it was a good, it was good to see, man. I I has listen, the moment was so good, bro, that I had a Kobe fan DM it to me. Yo, this is kind of dope, I'm not gonna lie. Now, when I say a Kobe fan, cause I hate we all know Kobe. Let's manufacture. Do you do you like you a LeBron fan? You never like LeBron. Uh I'm a I'm a LeBron fan. Nah, you hear that guy? Oh man. I have to be. You're not a LeBron fan. I'm and I don't like to say I'm a LeBron fan. I I do, I am, I am a fan of his work. I am a fan of his career. Um I don't want to divide myself though, because y'all be y'all take it too serious. He's a LeBron fan, you just don't like Jordan. But uh but no, man, it's it's the the hate for this guy is just manufactured. I mean, here's a guy with countless charities. Um, you watched him become go from a child to a father. You watched him with his high school sweetheart, a legendary career. Um, people want to use longevity against him. I I think I don't know how you do that. I don't know how I got to that, where it's like, oh, I heard someone tell me, oh, he's the best longevity player ever. Like, what? Like, you know how hard it is to do the things he's doing for this long? Like, what are we talking about? Somebody, listen, man, I don't want to get into like the Jordan and Braun thing, but you know, I saw this post where it was like Braun averaging 21 points and Jordan was averaging 22 points, and they both was 41. But the difference is Jordan played 14 years and LeBron was playing 23 years straight. That means Jordan clocked out at 14 years. You know how, and then not only did Jordan clock out at 14 years, Jordan took almost six years off in between his whole career. You know how hard it is to actually do the things this guy's on, man. So I don't know how people using longevity against them. And so for me, when I look at like some of this manufactured hate E, I look at it like roaches. He might not live with roaches, but I've live, I've you know, I've been around. You know, I've been around. And and you know what roaches, man, they they they really active. They're active when it's dark. So when it's dark for LeBron, you know, he had a bad game. You know, he missed it, he missed the free throw. The roaches is active. They put they put in low lights, they doing all types of stuff. But then when the lights come on, the lights come on as in he has a good game, plays well, they all scatter. Just like roaches. That's how I look at the manufacturer here for LeBron, man. So that was a great moment. That was a great moment uh for the kid for one. The kid will remember that for the rest of his life. And then, you know, that's that's kind of cool to see superstars go out, and you know, they they they they do what they need to do on the court and then still show love, especially in year 23, right? Like, I'm pretty sure he's tired of that right now. Like, ah, John, all right, yeah, man. Come on, hurry up, man. Listen, I gotta go. But I'm glad he did it. Speaking of cool, speaking of cool, Anthony Edwards and Barack Obama had a cool moment, man. I I like I like what I saw there. It reminded me of the first time I beat my uncle. You know, I I obviously I'm not as good as Anthony Edwards, and my and my uncle is definitely not as good as uh Barack Obama. But it still reminded me every day, man. Give me a break. Give me a break. But it was it was pretty cool to see. And I one thing I like about Anthony Edwards is that he's just himself. He's himself un unapologetically. He he's a he's a great kid, he's a good kid, and he just wants to have fun and play basketball. You know, I like him. Did you get a chance to watch that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw a little bit of that.
SPEAKER_02Let me ask you do you think you can beat Obama?
SPEAKER_00Obama?
SPEAKER_02His shooting. Yeah, I mean, you see in his form. I'm sure some of the stuff was added. He like I don't believe all these guys is coming out just hitting four or five shots in a row. Like, I'm not gonna believe that.
SPEAKER_01Can I beat Obama? Yeah, of course I can beat Obama, bro.
SPEAKER_02You know you're lying.
SPEAKER_01He's not even shooting. He's not he's not training, he's not in the show.
SPEAKER_02Neither are you.
SPEAKER_01I can still beat him, bro.
SPEAKER_02Dog, he's lying, guys. Anytime someone, anytime someone asks you a question, then you repeat the question. Can I beat Obama? You know, he's let's calm down.
SPEAKER_01Anthony Ells is shooting left-handed, bro. Listen, he didn't take him seriously.
SPEAKER_02You listen, tell me you can do it. I like Obama over you, bro.
SPEAKER_01He got me in ping pong.
SPEAKER_02Ping pong is tough. Ping pong. I used to play some ping pong back in the day. That's nasty work, bro. For real?
SPEAKER_01You don't like ping pong? Ping pong is fun.
SPEAKER_04I play ping pong, I play pool. That's nasty. You don't like pool?
SPEAKER_01It's not, but nah, bro. I've been around uh to a couple pool hauls.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_01Nasty, bro.
SPEAKER_02Duh, I used to play pool. Like I used to, when I used to, when I was young, I was at we had a uh boys and girls club around the way. And I would go there after school. And I would, and I would do after we played basketball, I'd go upstairs and get hit the pool table.
SPEAKER_01Maybe the vibes was different. Maybe the vibes was different over there.
SPEAKER_02Yes, as in we had a live outside of video games, outside of our phone. Yes, it was the vibe was definitely different. Like, I would I think this was probably when I was about nine years old, ten years old. You wouldn't play ping pong at 10?
SPEAKER_01That 10, I'll play ping pong at 10. I play ping pong against other 10 years old.
SPEAKER_02No, you wouldn't play pool right now?
SPEAKER_01Nah, not seriously, though. You probably like what do you mean by serious? Like a sport? Yeah, like nobody think about a sport, bro.
SPEAKER_02Who the hell thinking about a sport playing pool as a sport right now? Nah, people people Like you wouldn't go to a place like that's see, this this is this is how I'm saying this this is what I'm saying. This is how I I tell y'all all the time. Y'all young boys don't know how to get no girls. That's a perfect place to take a girl to. A pool hall.
SPEAKER_01A pool? Nah, bro. What? Nah, bro.
SPEAKER_02To go play pool?
SPEAKER_01I just don't like the vibes over there, bro.
SPEAKER_02They must have beat you up and took your money. Hey, no, what's the vibe? We gonna stay, we're gonna we're not gonna go too off, too off, off, off, off script. But I'm just curious to know, what's the vibes? What's the vibes for a pool haul for you? It's like it's a bar.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's a bar, but you got uh, it's just it's just not it's not the good vibes, bro. It's just not good vibes.
SPEAKER_04They didn't learn get on the pool table one time.
SPEAKER_01No, I can get on the pool table. That's not a problem.
SPEAKER_04Somebody take the food table and get to argue.
SPEAKER_01Cause ain't no listen. So do you like bowling? Bowling's cool. Bowling, but bowling is like you get your own lane. It's your you get you have some.
SPEAKER_02You get your own pool table too. Nah, pool table. When you go to pool halls, you just gotta wait for the pool table to become available. Like you have to wait for a bowling alley to come available.
SPEAKER_01No, you playing against other people though.
SPEAKER_02No, you not if you not if see this is what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01Like, this is what I'm saying, bro. You're talking about a pool hall where it's like you get your own table with your cup with your guests? Yes. I haven't been to one of those. I've been to the spots where it's like an actual bar or like one pool table, people, people play.
SPEAKER_02No, who does that?
SPEAKER_01You've been in some shitty places. Yeah, I've been to spots like that.
SPEAKER_02No, bro. No, bro, no, bro.
SPEAKER_01I ain't know they they do like, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02Like, yeah, this is what I'm saying. These are good dates. These are you young, you 24. These are places you should be taking women. But you in that pool table kind of mid, bro. No, you're a bug, because yeah, that's because you're not good at it.
SPEAKER_01That's because you're not good at it, bro. That's a mid date.
SPEAKER_02That's a perfect time to show your focus, your skill set, your that you gotta have. Listen, you got like when you go on dates, right? I know I'm going off, I know we're not talking about basketball right now. But when you go on dates and stuff, right, you gotta be able to show a woman your dominance in some way. Playing pool, though. They listen, they if you good at you gotta show that you're good at something.
SPEAKER_01But if we do a materialist, pool tables is at the bottom of the tier, bro. I guarantee you. Hiking, top golf, top, these are these are these are higher tier dates.
SPEAKER_02Pool tables higher tier dates. Hey, listen, you go so in top golf, you dominate in golf.
SPEAKER_01Of course. No, golf is actually kind of fun. Golf is fun because it requires some type of technique and skill.
SPEAKER_02But top golf going run, you at least it depends on what type of party you are, what type what type of dude you are. You might you seem like a pregame guy. Let's just take some shots in the car and walk in and not just only enjoy the golfing. But there's been times I've been to top golf, and you and it gets over 300. Gee, I'm not doing it all the time. That's what I'm saying, though. Uh uh pool hall date, some some drinks, some fries and tenders, and and you hit and you're playing some pool and getting to know each other, talking, enjoying yourself, relaxing, she relaxing, you missing, she missing, you making, you showing how to shoot the how to you how to hold the pool stick, that's only gonna cost you about$90.
SPEAKER_01We'll see, bro. Yeah, I'll I'll give it a try.
SPEAKER_02No, don't even try it, bro, because you're gonna be trash, you're gonna embarrass yourself. But anywho, going back to the Barack Obama, going back to the Barack Obama and Anthony Edwards thing. When I looking at Barack Obama, looking at Barack Obama and Anthony Edwards, Barack Obama, it reminds me of when you wanted to be a president. Like when you tell me about the CD. I'm gonna take a deep.
SPEAKER_03What do you want to do? I'm gonna be the president. When you thought about being the president at that. I'm gonna make a jump shot.
SPEAKER_02I'm ready to bring it up.
SPEAKER_03I don't want to get hurting yourself. You're doing about it now.
SPEAKER_02I don't think nobody wants to do it. I'm gonna go cut it up now, though. No whether we seeing what's going on. You're not gonna wanna think people want to be the president. People would rather have a Shopify store to be the president at this point. Um, but shout out to uh Anthony Edwards and Barack Obama for that moment. Well, how you feel about we talked about this uh last week or last show about uh going to Vegas, Vegas and Seattle, and Draymond Green said, well, not me, not me and Draymond Green spoke, but me and E over here spoke, and Draymond Green came out and said, There's not enough talent in the NBA. Do you think there's not enough talent in the NBA?
SPEAKER_00No, I think there's enough talent to go around.
SPEAKER_02Enough talent to go around, right? Here's how I think, here's how I look at it. Here's how I look at it, right? I think it's enough talent, but not enough superstars. There's not enough superstars for us. There's not enough people to get behind the superstars. That's how I look at it. I don't think there's enough superstars for uh for the NBA for to go around. So that's why I think Draymond is talking about. Draymond is talking about that. But it really depends, though. It really depends on the playing style. You can you could be a team in Vegas, and if you're a team that's fun to watch, people will come. You don't gotta win a championship, you don't have to be a playoff contender right away. You think about when they expanded the NBA with the Grizzlies and the Raptors. The Raptors, nobody knew who was on that roster. Damon Stodemeyer, I knew. But who the heck is Alvin Robertson? Carlos Rogers. I knew who John Sally was, but who is Tracy Murray? Ed Pickney. Right now. Right, y'all? You might have known who they were back then, but you don't remember them. They didn't make no noise in the in the league. But the Raptors built their franchise up. They built their franchise up. Years later, what, 17? When they come in, 96, so what, 14 years later? They win a no, no, no. 24 years later, they won a championship. I believe. My math could be completely off right there. Uh, but they won a championship. They won a championship. You feel me? So I you look at stuff like that, now I'm now I'm bugging. I want to say 16, not six, yeah, 16 years later, excuse me. 16 years later, they won a championship. So I I do no, that was actually no. I'm I'm struggling right here, guys. 15 uh, what is it? They won in 2019, right? To 2000, 2019. So say they 96. So was that 17 years later? So uh 96, 19, yeah, 17 years later. Is my math off on that? 23 years later? Yeah, my math was off on that. Um, forgive me. My math is off on that. Uh, but 20 23 years later, 23 years later they won a championship, bro. You know what I mean? So so for me is more so a thing of um I don't know why that's bothering me. Like I should I I feel like I should have known that right off the top of the head. 17, 96, 2006. No. It's 19 years later. Like, am I tripping? Uh six. No, not 06, 96. Right? It's 20. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, 23 years. You're right. You're right. 23 years. My bad. My bad. I don't know why. If my head, it's probably a long day for me. So go ahead. Y'all can clown me in the comments for that. Uh, I'm I'm okay with that. I can live with that. Everybody make mistakes. But yeah, so 23 years later, they're winning championship. Yeah, I mean, obviously it sounds like a long time, but who was expecting the Raptors to win a championship ever, right? It's, I mean, there's some there's teams in the league that's been in the league longer than 23 years, and they have still haven't won a championship. Clippers still haven't won a championship. Timberwoods still haven't won a championship. Memphis Grizzlies still haven't won a championship. Well, Memphis Grizzlies came in the same around in 2000, so that's fair enough. Um, but other than that, there's guys who haven't won. There's a lot of guys who haven't won championships, bro, or a lot of teams who haven't won championships. So I think there's talent there. I just don't think there's enough superstars there. I don't think it's enough superstars. But uh, so I want to see it. I want to see Vegas. I want to see Seattle. I want to see Seattle expand uh or get their team back. I want to see, I want to see the NBA expand. I want to see the NBA expand. It gives us more reason to travel, more reason to cheer. And you get a chance for guys that have more opportunities to play in the NBA. So I like it. Uh I like I like what I'm seeing. So I watched a couple games last night um and Miami played Charlotte, right? Miami played Charlotte, and you know, I was watching this game and I was on live, and somebody was like, yo, do you think, do you think it's time to get rid of Spo and Pat Riley? And my answer is no. Like, we gotta get out of this this mindset of always trading and getting rid of guys and all we got to get out of that, man. I mean, Miami's in the seventh seed. The teams ahead of them are Celtics, Pistons, excuse me, Pistons, Celtics, Knicks, Cavs, Raptors, and and the Magic. Right? They're not better than the Pistons, Celtics, Knicks, or Cavs. They can float in between the Raptors and the Magic. Mediocre team, mediocre rostered in a mediocre position, which is which is seventh seed. What do you what do you want from them? You think it's Spoke's fault? You think it's Pat Riley's fault? You think if they leave, if they leave, the team is gonna be number one? No, they're not gonna be number one. They got Norman Powell's first time being a scorer on a team. I mean, he scored, but it's his first time having that role as a scorer. They got Tyler Hero, who's still trying to prove himself. Um, and obviously a Bam Alabayo who can probably get you anywhere between 18 or 83 points. So it's a team that's still figuring itself out. I don't think you need to always change things up when things go wrong because what does that do to the fan base? The fan base don't know what to chair for, it's just inconsistent. So let's stop with the oh, let's trade this team, let's let's trade this coach. No, bro. Because before when LeBron was going in, y'all were saying that was that was the wrong way to go about it. So let's say true to what say true to what you said, and let's stick with it. OKC versus Orlando. OKC versus Orlando last night. OKC won 113 to 108. Shea had 40 points. This is 20, 40-point game since last year. Yeah, you know I'm bumping. That boy balling. That boy balling. And they're doing it without Jalen Williams. This is a true system. This is a true system that that operates with a superstar in it or without it. But I still think the Spurs can win. I think I think if they meet the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, the Spurs are gonna win. And speaking of the Spurs, and we'll get to that in a second, Spurs played Sacramento Kings last night. Spurs won 132, uh, Sack had 104. Wemby right now is averaging 24 points. Here's the reason why I think, who I believe the Spurs can be OKC. Wimby is their centerpiece. You're talking about a 7'5 player who can play at the elbow, three-point line, post, holding. He can do it all. Pass, shoot, block, whatever you want. He got it. Now you got Chet. Chet is around the same height, 7'3, I believe. 7'3 or 7'4. But Chet is not the vocal point. So if Chet gotta guard Wimby, and Wimby's the vocal point of the offense, he's gonna get tired. He's gonna get exhausted over a seven game series. They're not going to change up the game plan for Chet to go at Wimby. What third option for that team when Jalen Williams is healthy. So I think over a course of seven games, Wimby tires him out. I think Wimby would be too much to handle. Pause. I think he's going to be able to pass out of those double teams. And his support and cast, they hit shots and they love playing. They love playing together. So that's why I got the Spurs and the championship there.
SPEAKER_01Who you got stopping shade on?
SPEAKER_02Double teams. No, I don't want to. You send double teams. You send double teams. You got to make it. He's one of those. Listen, man. Last night I watched him play against the Orlando Magic. And this, and it's just like one-on-one because everyone's always moving while he's driving. And he can score one-on-one. He's a dog. But here's the thing. You let, I think you got to reverse the strategy. He's not a guy you need to stop. He's the guy you probably need to contain. The other people you need to stop. Because if you want to if they're going to win, I'd rather them win depending on rather than win with with Shay taking bad shots, Shay taking a lot of shots, and everyone else being shut down.
SPEAKER_00So you rather have Shay play one-on-one and just stay, stay, stay home on shooters?
SPEAKER_02Not necessarily home with shooters. I think you I think you do shift the defense over to them, but I don't think you double. I do think you step you step a little closer for the drives. But yeah, I think we live with the results. You put a bigger, you put a bigger, more athletic guard on him. I mean we live with the results.
SPEAKER_01See, I feel like that's easier said than done. This guy, this chase.
SPEAKER_02It is. I'm not sitting here saying it's bulletproof. I said seven games. I didn't say they was gonna beat him in four and five.
SPEAKER_01They don't got an answer for shade, bro.
SPEAKER_02They don't need it.
SPEAKER_01You seen you got you gotta have an answer for supporting Cass. They don't got an answer for that either. They will. But our supporting cast is different.
SPEAKER_02Spurs is different.
SPEAKER_01Nah, but Castle and those guys is different. But they haven't been in the big time moments.
SPEAKER_02Maybe. And that's the only thing that would that would be the only thing that can stop them, but it wouldn't be the talent.
SPEAKER_01Okay, it wouldn't be the talent, that's fair, but they have the experience isn't there for them.
SPEAKER_02And even it will only rela it will only go on to that. It will only depend on that part.
SPEAKER_01Even if we're going off talent, the Spurs, OKC, they know their role. Like they know, they know their team. Like they know who does what they they know. Spurs, they still in that like who's gonna take the final shot? Like who's gonna be the one? Not necessarily.
SPEAKER_02I think they run, I think they run their sets pretty well. I like their culture. I I don't I don't I I like them because they don't depend. Because they can still win with Wimby. Here's what makes them dangerous. They can still win with Wimby at scoring 17 points or 25 points.
SPEAKER_01See, that's not gonna be I feel that's that's what makes them dangerous. But that's not gonna be enough in the playoffs.
SPEAKER_02It is, though. That's not because you because you teams as hard to guard now is the teams that can come up with somebody else besides the leading scorer leading the team and scoring that night.
SPEAKER_01But you got Shay who's someone who got give you 30, 35 points. That's fine.
SPEAKER_02But then but the only thing you gotta do is make sure nobody else jump out of there and give you 25 points.
SPEAKER_01That's gonna be J Dub.
SPEAKER_02J Dub probably won't be able to do it. That's the thing. You shut J Dub down, you shut the team down. But you're not then how about Sha? How you gonna stop J. You you don't listen. You can still this the it's the NBA. They're gonna score points. They're gonna get busy. Shea's gonna get busy. Yeah. But you don't, but you don't necessarily need to stop every bucket. You just need to make every bucket challenger for them over a course of seven games, and then you shutting down everyone else, and everyone else trying to figure out their game in this moment, then that's when you win it. The Spurs have a strong core group of guys, and they play just as fast. And they match up to them physically, they match up to them height-wise, all that stuff. Speed, everything. Okay, and they'd come in as the underdog. So it's it's the ball is a lot lighter when you're letting that thing fly.
SPEAKER_01Okay, that's fair. That's if they can get to the Western Coughs final.
SPEAKER_02If they can get to the Western California final, like I said, I'm assuming.
SPEAKER_01They still gotta get through the Lakers, bro.
SPEAKER_02I'm assuming. They gotta go through the Lakers, sure. Sure. Uh then I watched the Cavs and the Bucks. Cavs and Bucks 123. Uh, Cavs win, Bucks 116. And this is another question that came came up on live, on one of my lives. Uh the guys were talking about, yo, where should Giannis go? Because right now he's out. Right now he's out with a hyperextension on his knee. And here's the thing: there's no other place for Giannis to go but a strong team. Giannis has to go to a strong team, a promising team. If he goes anywhere for that matter, but he got to go to a strong team. Because ultimately he's in year 13 and he still can win a championship. I like him going to the Spurs if the Spurs had the cap to get him. Why? Because he's year 13, he doesn't need to average 34, 35 points. Let him average 18, 19 points, 22 points. Twin Towers all over again. I I genuinely believe that he's a guy who don't need to average 30 points and still be impactful, very impactful. So I want I really want to see him uh uh go to a team that that's that's contending. Any team he goes to is going to automatically be a super team because he's there. Somebody said the Clippers. I don't think the Clippers uh Clippers always drop the ball when it comes to superstar players. They just got a bad history of playing with having superstars in their pro in their I about say program, but their organization. So I like Giannis going there. I like Giannis. One of the things I, you know, I you know, Harden had 27 in this game, and I was looking at it, and I'm like, man, who would have ever thought Harden be wearing a Cavs jersey by the end of the season? Right, like, but it's good to see, man. Last, one of the last things we got here is, you know, I was looking at the Wizards' direction, and I'm like, yo, poor Trey Young. Maybe they got Trey Young and Anthony Davis over there to move them somewhere else. But that team, I don't know. That whole organization needs a facelift. I mean, it looked like they got a bunch of college players out there, bro. They just got a bunch of kids in some t-shirts. They're hitting some shots, they're going crazy, but they're down 30. Speaking of college, man, we before we get out of here, man. NCAA, the NCAA uh is starts this weekend. Starts Friday. Starts Friday, man. How do you feel about that?
SPEAKER_01I'm low-heads out of this year. I ain't gonna lie. I'm gonna tune in. I'm gonna tune in to a couple games, see what's going on. You're gonna go to a couple games. What game are you going to, bro? UC UCLA. UCLA, if UCLA believe they're in it, but I'm trying to go to UCLA game. Maybe. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Alright, alright, cool. That's so I don't really got no takes on the uh I want to see, you know, all the obviously, I mean, obviously, I want to see the good teams play, compete, do what they need to do, but I I want to watch it. I want to watch it, and I can give you guys a better observation and tell you, yo, this team is nice. This player right here is nice. This is the player you need to look for. He's gonna be good. Um, but obviously we're gonna make these brackets and somebody's gonna be upset, and that's the beauty of March Madness. But I want to watch it first. So let me know what you guys think. Let me know you guys think in the comments, man. Make sure you guys follow us, make sure you guys support the brand. Brand war, I should think elite, as you can see.
