Speaker 2:

Want to experience the magic of a nearly century-old theater that's seen it all, From silent films to live performances, the Lincoln Theater is the place to be. Join us as we chat with Bob Watkins, executive director of the Lincoln Theater, and find out exactly how you can get your hands-on tickets to the best seats in the house. Welcome back everybody. I'm Skip Mauney, co-host slash producer, back in the studio with Executive Director Bob Watkins. Bob, how's it going? It's going good. How are you doing, Skip? I'm doing just fine, doing just fine. The question of this episode is how exactly do the general public get tickets for events at the Lincoln Theater?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, there's a couple different ways. One we do have a box office here in Main Street and Marion at Lola's at the Lincoln. So you just come right into Lola's and some of the box office girls will be able to get you taken care of with some tickets there. If you want to talk to them face to face and come in and take a look around the theater and pick which CQ would like to have, the most popular ways is just our webpage, because we have all of our performances on our webpage with the ticket links to them, and that is the at the wwwthelincolnorg. So the Lincolnorg is the easiest way for people to get tickets. You can pick and choose and it'll give you the graph of the theater. You can pick and choose which location you want to be in the theater for that it provides a couple of different options to where you can either print the tickets at home, so you'll have a physical ticket when you come in for the show, or you can go ahead and have it as a will call and somebody in the box office will go ahead and get that printed for you and have it ready for you to pick up when you come in for the performance.

Speaker 3:

On Facebook. All of the events that we post on Facebook are all tied to our ticket service also. So, looking at us on Facebook and if you see an event there, we are always going to have a ticket link to that as well, to where you can secure your tickets through Facebook. Different options there.

Speaker 2:

Very good. I know a lot of bigger venues offer VIP packages where you get special perks. Is that the case with the Lincoln Theater? Do you guys do anything like that?

Speaker 3:

We do have some VIP performances to, where we'll have VIP seating. Up in the front. We've got some tables and chairs that we'll put out for VIP patrons. They'll also usually get a special meet and greet with the performers in the green room prior to the show so they can get some selfies taken with the performers and everything, and then we also provide a little goodie package of refreshments and concessions for them during the show. So, yeah, there is a VIP package there. And then we're also in the process of developing more of a VIP membership to where, if there's a certain level of donation, then the patron would then receive early access to ticket purchasing and things like that. So we're in the process of working that out and hopefully going to roll that out by the end of this year. We'll have it run in full force in 2025.

Speaker 2:

Very good. Awesome, sounds good. Not that I consider myself a VIP or anything.

Speaker 3:

Oh sure you are Skip.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, right, right. I don't expect the red carpet to be rolled out when I'm there, so are there any special perks or discounts for purchasing tickets early, like free popcorn, surprise appearance from a ghost at Theater Pass, that sort of?

Speaker 3:

thing. A lot of that depends on the performance, because we do some of our own performances to where we purchase them and then we also have some rentals that come in. The rentals were kind of handcuffed to the ticket pricing that they would like to have. So the most recent performance we did was a Beatles tribute and that did have a pre-sale promo code on the webpage. I think it was like $5 off of the ticket there for the promo codes. And that VIP package that I'm putting together is going to have early access to where they would get a $5 discount on ticket purchases if they purchased it within that first two weeks of having it posted. Yeah, there are going to be some VIP perks for rates and discounts and everything for those ticket prices.

Speaker 2:

So you mentioned the website, Facebook, the box office. Can people still buy tickets at the door the night of the show, or is that a bad idea? Oh no, absolutely.

Speaker 3:

Our box office is going to be staffed, so if you didn't get your ticket prior to the show and we still have tickets available, you can go ahead and stop in at the box office and somebody down there will be able to get you taken care of with a quick ticket and get you into the show with ease.

Speaker 2:

I like to plan ahead, and even though it's exciting to buy tickets at the door, it would really not be good to get there and say sorry, we're sold out.

Speaker 3:

They can also call because our box office staff. They'll be able to take the phone calls and they can go ahead and do an over the phone purchase as well. Go ahead and do an over-the-phone purchase as well. So if they wanted to call prior to the show, like that day of the show, call in and say, hey, do you have some tickets, Can I get some? And then they just come in and pick them up. That works perfectly too.

Speaker 2:

We'll do whatever we can to get somebody in those seats. So I know that the building, you're 95 years old, you're the Lincoln Theater. But if I had a time machine and I wanted to book for the lincoln theater's 100th centennial celebration concert whatever you're planning on doing, which I'm sure is that huge can I reserve my seat now, or would I be able to do that in advance?

Speaker 3:

uh, well, that's actually a great idea. I hadn't even thought of that yet, skip, but uh, I do think that that is something that we might be able to go ahead and pursue as we start doing some planning for the upcoming events and those VIP packages as well. That's definitely something, especially now that you provided me that great idea.

Speaker 2:

So I'm glad I can be of some use anyway. Well, bob, appreciate your time this morning, love what you're doing and keep doing what you're doing, and we will see you in the next episode. Great Thanks, you take care.
