In this episode of Light of the Scroll, we step into one of the most powerful patterns written in Scripture — Babylon. What really happened when Yahweh’s people were taken into exile? What could they no longer do once the Temple was destroyed? How did Babylon attempt to reshape their identity? And why does the spirit of Babylon still matter for believers today?
From the Tower of Babel’s declaration — “Let us make a name for ourselves” (Genesis 11:4), to the burning of the Temple in Jerusalem (2 Kings 25:8–9), to the grief of the exiles crying, “How can we sing the songs of Yahweh in a foreign land?” (Psalm 137:4), we trace the historical and spiritual reality of exile.
We walk through Daniel’s story of resistance in Babylon — renamed, re-educated, and pressured to assimilate — yet choosing obedience:
“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself…” (Daniel 1:8).
And then we turn the mirror toward today.
A culture redefining identity.
A world reshaping morality.
A system pressuring believers to blend in.
Are we living in a modern Babylon?
Finally, we hear the timeless call:
“Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins.” (Revelation 18:4).
This is a deep teaching on exile, covenant identity, obedience, and staying set apart in a world that no longer honors Yahweh’s ways.
🎧 Listen now and journey through Scripture, history, and heart-level reflection as we learn how to live faithfully in a foreign land.
