As I’ve continued guiding guests through bourbon country, I’ve stepped off the normal tour paths—walked into forgotten rickhouses, checked into stories left out of brochures and polished tasting rooms.

I’ve stood where legends once stood. I’ve listened to the whispers long ignored. And I’ve sat across from giants of the industry as they shared stories rarely told…and never recorded.

This season, we’ll uncover how a bourbon icon built a distillery so dominant it called checkmate on every competitor—only to close its doors and vanish into history. We’ll tell the story of a bourbon banished from America, erased from shelves for forty years…before returning stronger, bolder, and better than ever. We’ll meet the man whose private bourbon selection process—meant only for parties at his distillery—ended up saving the entire industry at a moment when America had turned its back on bourbon.

And for the first time, we’ll tell the story of how a husband and wife built a tour company so influential that Bill Samuels Jr. of Maker’s Mark would later say that it laid the foundation for bourbon tourism as we know it today—and a company that I’m proud to represent every day that  I am out on the trail.
