MEANING & VITALITY; A NEW MOON & TWO RETROGRADE'S
We enter December with our Sun, Moon and retrograding Mercury all aligned in the sign of the archer, Sagittarius. This month brings us the energy to scan our horizon, is it one that brings us a sense of meaning and vitality? What exists outside of my scope of vision? Mars begins a long and important retrograde from December 7th - Feb 22nd, spending this first month in the sign of Leo. Vitality, action, meaning and experimentation are all in the mix.

Hi, happy new moon in Saj. I've been away for all of Saj season so far and came home yesterday, immediately jumped into my favorite ocean pool, stocked up my fridge, remembered the joys of having a Virgo moon, which for me is so much to do with great pleasure and stability coming from my routines and rituals. And also knowing what the day is going to look like, your moon sign, knowing your moon sign is highly beneficial. I highly recommend it. It speaks to so much. Speaks to a part of how you receive your intuition. It's your inner world. It's your inner home. And it also looks at your own domestic environment. So it's the tangible and intangible home. For me, having that in Virgo routines, knowing what the day, what the week looks like, having things planned, like food brings me a lot of stability. Or a strong foundation is a better way of saying that. And it took me a long time to build that within myself. I rejected those kinds of things for at least a decade. And to have them in my life is. Yeah, it's the foundation for everything. It's so weird to be away from work for that long as well. I love work. It brings me a lot of stability, which is also related to Virgo. You know, what am I actualizing? How am I utilizing my skills and abilities out in the world? And when you're not doing that for an extended period of time, it's like, I don't know, I just draw, I draw so much meaning from it. the work that I do. Anyway, needless to say, it's so nice to be home and back in my life and world and sitting here on this very hot day talking to you. We entered this new moon phase late on Sunday afternoon. Something that's worth mentioning, because if you just follow astrology on Instagram, you may not have a sense of this. phase of the moon. There's eight. Each phase lasts for three and a half days. There can be this sense when we're reading about the new or full moon that it's just happening on one evening or one morning, let's say. What that is though is when the moon reaches an exactitude, say it's completely married by degree with The sun as it was yesterday afternoon, they're at the same degree or when it's a full moon and they're at exact opposite degrees. However, that's the beginning of the cycle. And as I've said to you, when we're in a full moon, we can often feel the buildup, but it begins when the moon reaches that exactitude. So we're half a day into this new moon phase and we're here. For three and a half days. We're in each moon phase for three and a half days. So if you are somebody who feels a sense of pressure, and I hope you don't, but if you feel a sense of pressure of, I must get my new moon ritual done on the night of, or else I've failed. I mean, a, you definitely haven't. That's just. I don't think that's how life operates personally, but also you, you have a whole three and a half day chunk to live in that world. So today we're going to talk about this new moon in Sagittarius because it's deeply linked to the current mercury retrograde in Sagittarius. And even today, I'm just looking at the chart of today. And I've been looking at the astrology of this week right now. Mercury, the Moon, and the Sun are still within this 10 degree orb, within this conjunction of each other. And all of this week, Mercury and the Sun will be aligned with each other. They will be for the next nine days. so even that's quite interesting. And then, to close, I want to begin to look at this very, very important Mars retrograde that starts on the 7th. And we'll go until, late Feb. it's a strong one. And that's in Leo. So there's a lot of fire magic happening right now. But it's reflective fire. It's retrograding fire. How does that work? That's what I want to sink, our teeth into. We actually started, uh, 2024 in the last two days of a mercury retrograde in Sagittarius. So it's quite beautiful that in part where ending or beginning to and the year back in this same cycle, it started on November 25th and it's there until December 15th. Sagittarius is this wonderful, large energy or archetype or set of ideas and traits that's looking at life as a whole. It's looking at what is meaningful about existence or what is the meaning of existence. And for anybody who has a lot of this energy. Or a lot of Ninth House energy, you've hopefully uncovered through a lot of your own experiential wisdom that likely there isn't one meaning. It's broad. There are a lot of ways to create and experience and express life. And there are a lot of things within life to draw meaning from. The importance of Sagittarius, or the lesson, one of the lessons of Sagittarius, is the necessity of meaning. Because without it, it can become or feel like a vast existential wasteland. And I think to have that experience of nihilism or existentialism is deeply important. You know, to have a sense of no meaning gives us hopefully the impetus or the drive to build that or carve that out for ourselves. I think one of the things that we've been leaning into or understanding more of as humans is that we don't need a middleman between us you And, let's say, deeper truths or direct experiences of God, creation, life force, whatever you want to call it. To me, Saj is about casting a grand vision. It's turning around and doing a 360. It's widening your vista. It's widening the scope through which you allow life to enter. It's creating a level of spaciousness just by expanding your vision of what life is. And what it can be. And what it can look like. With the sun and the moon dancing together now in this archetype, there is this seamlessness. There is this clarity or naturalness to be casting our vision ahead. It's interesting that the glyph for Sag is the archer. Or it is the actual arrow here. to be able to draw back the bow and line up your vision, your eye with the tip of the arrow into the direct part of the landscape where you want to draw it and release it. Takes a level of planning, stamina, deep self belief that you can actually do the thing. These are part of the, let's say, tenets of Sag. There's a deep expansiveness. that comes with this energy. It's ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter is our largest planet. Anything that it touches, it expands. To be, I guess, the visionary of your own life requires you to have a level of self belief that you can actually do the thing. Not only do you have the dream, you have a sense that you can bring it to life. I think that's a requirement. I think it's very important that we all have a level of bombasticness about our desires and visions and dreams as we are in this new moon phase. That's one of the things that I'd recommend for you to reflect upon what actually is bringing me meaning and what are the things that are meaningful to my life and how can I expand upon them? What is my vision for this blank canvas in front of me? What is my vision for the thing that here on earth we call 2025? What do I want to place into that space? Where am I taking aim? Where am I directing my energy and my intentionality towards what and why am I doing that? The why is as important as the direction. With mercury moving backwards here. Or seemingly moving backwards from our perspective here on earth. We're in this reflective zone of meaning. We're in a very natural time to look at the year that has happened thus far, or to even cast our lens a lot further back your life so far. What has provided you with the most juice? And I guess here I'm saying juice in terms of What has been most meaningful? What brings you a sense of life, force, and vitality? Which is also a theme with our Mars retrograde. Something that's been very interesting about this year is that every Mercury retrograde has been in our fire signs. Apart from, I think, five days where it was in Virgo before it moved back into Leo a few months ago. That's very interesting to me. Anytime there's an elemental pattern, that's wildly interesting to me. And with all of the mercury retrogrades in fire, to me, that feels like it's asking us, or there's a collective theme here of us looking at thoughts to action, or in a world to how I act in the outer world, or What are my intentions? How am I focusing my mind and my energy? And then am I acting in alignment with that? To me, it also feels like a big call out to align or realign with your instincts. It's looking at your actions and asking yourself, are they aligned with my thoughts? I think it's also been A big call for us to look at our relationship to impulsivity and where we're not in control of our action. And the thing that initially jumps into my mind and may have jumped into yours is how often do you find yourself on your phone without consciously going, Hey, I'm going to pick up my phone. It's become such a unconscious act for so many of us. And I feel like one of the big themes of this year has been a reclamation of our own attention spans and what we're directing our attention towards. Your attention, what you place your attention on, which is your consciousness, is one of the greatest powers that you have. Fire is an element that's here to be expressed. We never want to sit on fire or stew on fire. It turns into a volcano. It's not a good idea. It needs constant outlet. What is your relationship with your own expression? What are the things that bring you a sense of vitality? What brings you meaning? And what is meaningless in your life, if anything? where are there chunks of superfluousness taking place in your day to day life? Again, you might run a tight ship. There may, there may not be anything. My work centers around aiding people in, I would almost say, remembering or getting to hold up a mirror to people of their own majesty, of the truth of who they are, the fullness of who they are, the absolute beauty of who somebody is. It's realigning somebody with their own fullness. Another huge part of my work for the last few years has been realigning people or helping people to foster and build their connection with their intuition, of which, to me, instinct is a huge part. I think it's so incredibly important. And one of the cool things that I think has happened this year, or has come more into the foreground this year, as we kind of kick off more of this, let's say, digital age, this age of Aquarius. is so many people are feeling how inorganic it is to spend so much time on tiny screens or watching something that lasts for three seconds or to read a small caption that I don't know just dislocates their attention spans or dislocates their mind. That's how it's felt for me. So, with Mercury Retrograde here, let's just make it more grand. Over the course of your lifetime, what has brought you the most meaning? What would you define? A meaningful life, for you, as being. What does it look like? Who's in it? What's the location, or locations? I think these are questions to answer, and then revisit. Maybe you want to revisit them a couple of times during this retrograde, and then look back again once it goes direct. I think when planets turn direct, there's always an opportunity to, especially because it's in fire. There's an opportunity to take action based off of what you have just understood more deeply about yourself, you know? It's like, cool, show me. With the Mars retrograde, this happens on the 7th of December, and it lasts until February 22nd. For this first month, from December 7th Mars will retrograde. through Leo. This is interesting because it will be trining or in a very, very positive relationship, with the sun and Mercury here in Sagittarius. So there's a seamlessness here. Another way of saying that is there's a theme here. What brings me a sense of vitality? What makes me feel alive? What actions, what desires, what dreams and my action towards those things makes me feel alive? It's tethered to what brings me meaning. Is my vision big enough? Is my sense of life big enough? It's also deeply related to expression. Leo is very much related to our vitality. One way of saying this is like, am I moving myself towards the things that bring me to life, or that bring me life, that make me feel my most alive? Part of what makes me alive. Our Leo feel alive, our Leo essence that we all have is expressing our personality, be that visually, be that orally, through communication, through dance, whatever it is, Mars, which rules Aries, is a planet geared towards action. It doesn't talk about the thing. It does the thing. And then talks about it. Again, it can be quite impulsive. It can be very impulsive. So there is this kind of, it feels like there's a theme there around impulsivity as well. Is the action that I'm taking in my life true to me? Again, what's superfluous and what's genuine? What has a greater return, you know, in terms of making me feel, yeah, this is my life, I'm alive, I'm doing it, I'm in this experience, how fucking beautiful, you know. It's also this energy that's geared towards attraction. It's primal. I don't mean purely on a sexual sense, so it's definitely that. I mean more in terms of your desires. what are you magnetized like primally bodily towards? What is turning you on in your own life? And what's not? Because it's retrograding. Again, there's this, there's this lens that's more reflective. It's assessing what works, what doesn't. And it's great that at least for this first part it's taking place in this sign, you know, sorry, while the sun and our mind is in Sagittarius. It's taking place in this realm of experimentation and being experiential. Mars is very, very related to our instincts as well. Again, as a primality, that's the best word I can use for it. Meaning it's not intellectual, it's, it's the intelligence of our nature, if that makes sense. It's the intelligence. of our body, of our energy, of our primal read of a situation, a person, our own actions, whatever it may be. It's not something that we've intellectualized and conversed about and questioned. It comes way before all of that. So it's like we're entering this period of tuning in to, our sense of vitality and noticing how our body feels in particular situations, even particular poses, uh, around certain people. What brings me a sense of life? What brings me a sense of meaning? Um, something that I've noticed. from reading for so many people and so many different types of people, I get this feeling that the bigger or the broader our sense of life is or what's possible in life, the more life will meet that. I know that sounds esoteric but that's my instinct about it. If our attention is, again, let's say on the phone, we're missing everything else. Other people, the color of the sky, whatever it is, there's so much data, life data, physical, tangible, real life. that we're not engaging with. And again, it's a good analogy for if our sense of what is possible or our sense of life is tiny, then life will meet us there or because our attention is trained towards that, we'll miss everything else that's taking place. I don't want that for you. I don't want that for anybody. What compels you in a genuine sense? What are you compelled towards from yourself, not by somebody else? And are you taking action towards those things? You know, I started a personal sub stack in Virgo season, and it's based on my own personal initiations. I've written one, the reason that I decided to start a business. An astrology business was not only so I could work anywhere in the world and for myself, but so that I would buy myself time to do the things that really, really fill me up, which are creative in nature. You know, it used to be music and it's always been writing. And I have so many drafts, I have one published thing, I have so many drafts to go up on that sub stack. And as I'm saying all this, that's where my energy is wanting to go. My nature is to think about things. Is to think about life. I think I'm, I've always been kind of philosophical in nature. And to be able to chase an idea, and put it into words and articulate it, is something that really brings me joy. A lot of meaning and a sense of life. And I know that that's where I'm going to be applying a lot of my own energy because I want to ride into the next year doing the things that bring me deep meaning and beauty. So I'm curious to hear what those things are for you. If there's anything that you want me to talk about, please message me and let me know. I'd love to hear from you so I can. Make those things for you. I have a talk coming up on the 15th of December. I should check that. Yes. On Sunday, the 15th of December, which will be on the incredible astrology of next year, which really kicks off with this Mars retrograde, actually. It's, it's a big player. I'll be speaking more about it. and I'll certainly be speaking about it in this talk. I have one. spot left for a mini reading where I'll look at your, at the astrology of 2025 and how it's playing out in your own natal chart. The links for that are below, but come along to the talk. You'll get a PDF as well with all of the dates and a synopsis on the juice, what they're about. I'll also be fleshing them out a lot. And then something that I, Also doing these talks is to look at what I think the patterns are and what traits or yeah, traits or what I think would be beneficial to have in your toolkit, which I'm just going to say for the last several years has been a. a renewed sense of, or a renewed relationship with your own intuition. And it's certainly that again, next year. I just think that's baseline, you know, that's such an important foundation always, but it's 55 Aussie dollars. Please do come along. I'd love to see you all there. And thank you to all the people who are already in that class. I can't wait to see you all. Hope you have a great week and happy new moon.
