MERCURY RETROGRADE IN SAG + POST MOON NOTES

This week begins with the last Mercury Retrograde of the year that will wind its way through Sag and back into Scorpio, where it will meet the Sun and Moon on the New Moon in Scorpio on the 20th. We look at this along with some post Full Moon notes and how to now utilise that intel throughout Scorpio season.

Hi, how are you? I've just finished level two of astrology school. We had our final class today, which was awesome. Looking at the business side of things, which, you know, form a versions of me would. Just roll her eyes that I even have any interest in this whatsoever. But I mean, when you run your own business, you have to have a sense of it, and I actually really enjoy it. I think as somebody who naturally is an observer and is always seeing patterns in things, I really love talking about. Yeah, that whole world to people, especially when it comes to marketing or the communicating. Uh, and one of the things that I was just saying to everyone is, per, personally, I don't think that we need to. I think the most important thing that we can do in, in that realm is know ourselves and understand the bigger why of what we are doing. Not just in terms of, uh, why do I wanna make money, but I mean, why are you doing the thing? Like, what's, what's the mission? Uh,'cause that can really just help. I mean, that orients everything, that's the intention, isn't it? Uh, and I am, I'm not a believer in you have to do, you have to post X amount of times to do blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I just, no, I don't think so. Um, I've managed to quite successfully run my business by not doing those things. Uh, anyway, that's a tangent that I didn't know I was gonna go on to. But, uh, what I wanted to talk to you about today is the post moon thoughts. It was a big one. And to start to touch into the Mercury retrograde in sag. Now look. If you've been here for a while, you know, I don't, this isn't a life shattering event. Uh, none of these transits are, we do have a level of free will. How these energetic, uh, experiences or Yeah, how these transits, how these frequencies are gonna play out with you through you is really. Specific to your own coding, which is your own needle chart and where it's falling in your needle chart, what house is it bringing to life, et cetera, et cetera. I was reflecting on it for me, like with this, uh, mercury retrograde. I have, uh, my third house starts in Sagittarius and I have Neptune there. Uh, and so the third house is the house of communication. As I was saying, I could already feel it sort of coming in the shadow period. And. I'd say in part that may be because it is falling in my house of communication. So there's an added oomph to the energy, if that makes sense. Uh, but yeah, let's get back to the moon. As I was saying last week, and as I did said in my post during the week, this is always a very strong moon. I find because we're touching on such primal parts of our personality, like. How do we seek comfort when we feel uncomfortable or when we feel we're in the unknown or we're on the precipice of a change? We all have coping strategies. We all have ways to self-soothe that do and do not serve us. And here in the realm of Taurus that often engage, like we're often engaging with the material world, uh. Which is why my examples are often like shopping and emotional eating and uh, or, or just going for the dopamine, going for realms of what we consider safe or what the, uh, child version of ourselves found to be safe. And as I was riding during the week, it's like what we know doesn't. NN necessarily equate to what is safe or what is good for us, and this is what this Full Moon has been about. It's illuminating for each of us, anywhere where we're living in this kind of like gilded cage age, you know, where it's like I, I have this habit, or I'm in this relationship, or. I'm in this, I'm locked into this particular belief or thought process. And with this full moon, we were able to see that thing as a cage, which has its door open. You know, this was kind of the experience. So for a lot of us, it's brought up like, what is my comfort zone? What are my comforts and what has me in a choke hold, uh, as well. So for me, uh, my son and I were sick for it. You can, sorry, my voice is off today, but that's why I'm a bit nasal still. Uh, and I, I know food can be really triggering for people. So I'm just going to talk about food here. I don't have an, I don't have a eating disorder. Um, however. I do, I have been an emotional eater, um, throughout my life and I have a wonderful hold on that now. Um. And it was weird because during this, well, it wasn't weird, it was timely. But during this last week with the full moon, like the lead up and then the, the phase of it, I was sick and I was in more of that. I just want to be comforted kind of experience. Um, and I still had a role to play like it. It's not like I wasn't being a. I, I couldn't shirk off being a mom during that time. And so how I was finding that comfort was with eating more. I just found myself eating more, like I had to, I had to stuff myself with things, not I, I wasn't fully stuffing myself, but that's what it felt like I was doing. And then I'm sure my screen time. Uh, was also up. You know, I use Opal, which I highly recommend to any of you. I have very strong controls and parameters on when I do and don't go into social media because I just do find it so addictive. Um, I mean, it is, and I just found there was one day where I had overwritten. The, I'd been on like 15 breaks from Opal, uh, to go back onto Instagram and just scroll and, and really feel that sense of also feeling myself with nothingness, you know, and then that weird malaise that one feels when they're, they've just filled themselves with things that, that are not nourishing. Uh, that doesn't add to my vitality. Or my life force or my nourishment, uh, in, in any way. So that was a good experience for me to revisit that'cause I hadn't been in that place for such a long time. And in a weird way, it was kind of nice to, well, not nice, but it was interesting to go back into that experience and to be able to go, wow, I haven't been here for so long and I don't want to be here again. Um. Yeah, I know for a lot of you it was a strong one, uh, as well. And again, it's like this is, this is primal stuff. Uh, I know in the comments, like a lot of people were saying that they were really able to see whatever that cage is and now, like, the way to utilize that information, hopefully you recorded it in some way, you know, like, uh, in your notes. In your diary, however you record these things, I think it's really worthwhile doing. Uh, I know some people, I just put everything in in my diary. Um, I have a separate work journal, but I put everything, all of my reflections just in the one place. I can't have multiple places. It's like I can't have multiple tabs open either, you know? Uh. Because I find it really helpful to revisit these things over time. You know, like to revisit, okay, how did I experience the full moon in Taurus last year, or the year before that, or the year before that? I, I love keeping track of things in that way, and for any of you who are working, who enjoy working with astrology and with the archetypes in that way, I highly recommend that you have a practice like that or a way of filing these things away. So that you can revisit them and look at, look at the journey that you've taken with particular archetypes. Um, so how we wanna work with these things now is we want to utilize the conscious aspects of Scorpio, which is what's illuminated. I mean, all of Scorpio's illuminated for us at the moment with the sun there. But what are the conscious ways that we can work with that cage? Like for me, it's. Over the last few days as I've been, uh, going back to my normal way of eating, I've had that comfort, uh, desire, let's call it, to fill in, uh, put more like literally just put more things in my body and food and. So it's having to, the way I'm using it is I'm sitting with the feeling like, okay, I notice that this, there's this desire and there's this messaging appearing in my brain. How is my body feeling now? Why am I wanting, what am I wanting to either cover up or fill up on? Like, why am, what else can I do with the space that I'm feeling rather than trying to emit it? Or, uh, pour things on top of it. And this is the scorpion energy, which is alchemical. How can I take this one thing? And through noticing it through, sitting with it, through feeling it, watching it undulate into something else. Uh. And this is a lot of that work. You know, it's like I was saying, like I've been saying throughout Scorpio season, when we're running away from, from our shadow, it has a lot of weight. But when you stop running and you turn around and you look at the thing. It's not that scary. It doesn't have the same hold on us, which isn't to say that we might not need some extra support to orient ourselves through the things depending on what it is, uh, but a lot of the times it's just about presence. Presence is one of the most powerful. I would call magical abilities that we all have as humans. What are you bringing your presence to? And if you're able to bring your presence to the things that came up for you during that full moon period, you'll be able to navigate them beautifully. You'll be able to transmute them, the next steps will come forward, or feeling the thing will be enough to begin to change the thing. Uh, so if I could give you an astrological prescription this week, and I mean always, uh, but especially for Scorpio season, it's presence. And you know, when you are, when you have your full presence, you know, when somebody is, has the, has brought their whole presence to a conversation that you're in with them. It's a, it's a powerful thing. I, I would say it's like, in a way, I think somebody bringing their presence to something is akin to charisma in a way. You know, charisma is linked to Scorpio. Sexual charisma is linked to Scorpio. Uh. And it's something to do with presence. I don't have the languaging for that. Some legend out there. I'm sure lots of legends out there have written about it and have studied it and all the things. But on an instinctual level, uh, that's to me an incredible magical quality, which is why it's always important to be very aware of. Where we're engaging our energy and our attention and our focus, because we do wanna be in charge of that. We have to be in charge of that. Uh, okay. Let's see. So Mercury is having its final retrograde starting on the 10th of November. Which is tomorrow. I'm recording this on Sunday, the 9th of November, and it will begin at six street degrees of Sagittarius. And then it will retrograde backwards. So it'll go six degrees, five degrees, four degrees and onwards until it moves back into Scorpio and will end on the 30th of November. So it's a 20 day experience, almost three weeks, uh, ending at 20 degrees of Scorpio. So what do you have between 20 degrees of Scorpio and six degrees? Of sag because in some way that is going to be, you're going to be surveying that territory, reflecting on that territory of your life. So the house that that's in or the houses that that's in, the planets that may live there, we are going back over that territory. Uh, and we've, we've just journeyed through that over the last few weeks. From that period where it was in that conjunction with Mars and Lilith, that's where we're ending back up at, around that same territory. So really all you have to do with this is take notice of what comes up in your mind, in your in your field. What thoughts are there? What reflections, what memories, uh, what feelings are you revisiting? That's really the work again, I guess. Yeah. The work is, is consciousness. Uh, yeah. It's, it's just, it's really that simple. I could end, I could end the podcast here. Uh, so yeah, let me see if there's anything I want to say here. You know, with Retrogrades we can really sort of see our thought patterns and ideas from new angles, or we revisit. Experiences that we've just had from a new reflective angle as well. So interestingly, on the 20th we'll have that new moon in Scorpio, which I'll talk about as we get closer. And the sun and the moon will be conjunct because it's a new moon, but. Retrograding Mercury will also be part of that story. So what makes this Mercury retrograde interesting when it moves into the Scorpio is that it will also be part, it will also be making contact with the sun and with the moon. Um, so that's, that's our outer end out inner life. And it's a clean slate in the, in the realm of. Presence and intimacy and our deeper instincts and drives as well. Scorpio, I'll speak to more of that, uh, as it comes up. What else did I wanna say? Oh, yeah. One thing which I actually, that's good timing. Uh, I listened to Jenna Zoe, or Jenna Zoe. I always thought it was Zoe, um, her podcast interview on expanded, and I really like her. I think she is a very clear channel. Uh, she's really in her own energy, you know, and that's, you can really tell, I mean, I'm sure you all can tell, but I can really tell when people are or are not in their own energy. You can tell when somebody's mimicking, you know, unconsciously mimicking or when they're deeply embodied in the thing. And I think she's really in her own lane. And she said something that I just wanted to pass on to all of you and. I was just thinking then it would be a brilliant practice for the Mercury retrograde period. Actually, uh, she refers to it as eating space and in moon Oracle. My intuition course, uh, this is. This is a big part of what I teach in there. Uh, I'm just, I'm, I've been trying to, I would love to run this again in Pisces season because it will be, because we'll have the north node there, uh, you know, which is really opening us up to. The higher echelons of Pece and magic, and I'd love to utilize that time within a group honing in on our intuition. I don't know if I can do it in that time, but, um, I'll, I'll certainly let you know if I do. Anyway, a big part of that process is one of the practices that I suggest is 10, 10 minutes a day, no input. And preferably with an, with something covering your eyes. So there's no input visually, sonically anything. And the more that you're able to go inwards in that way without any distraction, that's an incredibly, it's an, it sounds so simple, but you'll meet all of your edges by doing that specifically. The ways that you fill up space, the, the way we've all become very easily trained in filling up our time. So, uh, Jenna calls this eating space and it's something that she said in this interview, listen to it. It's great. It's very of the time of like, it's. Precisely of this time. So I, I recommend, uh, but to paraphrase. She and her sister are going back and forwards identifying the ways that they fill up their time. It's very much related to this, this Full Moon in Taurus. How are you comforting yourself in ways that aren't actually nourishing? Uh, it, I think her example was like texting lots of people throughout the day, or certainly social media. You'll know what your things are and the way that you fill up your time in, in ways that feel. I'm gonna say, I'm gonna use the word dead. The ways that you are filling up time that give you that sort of malaise, it's not vital energy, it's a filling up of space. Um, and so what they're doing is, quote unquote eating space. They're staying in, uh, rather than picking up the phone, they're just, I don't know, for example, sitting on the couch. And spending that five minutes just with their thoughts or just staring at the wall. I think this would be an amazing practice for everyone to do. It's incredible training, uh, because as we cover in Moon Oracle, as you get into really dialing in your intuition and then beginning to play with the abilities, which. I, I teach people about, and always get in legends, to also teach people about, what you'll notice is if you wanna successfully work in those realms, you need to have a good focus. You need to be in command of your focus. Another way to retrain that is reading long form, is reading books. Really, to me it's like reading fiction, uh, but reading long form, you know, having your phone in another area and going out and sitting on the couch for an hour and reading. Um, we want to be in command of our focus and our, our own attention. Uh, so yeah, I leave you with that practice. I think it would be a brilliant one for this time anytime, but it's a Mercury retrograde, so we're in a reflective space so we can utilize that energy to look at how we fill up that space. Um, again, you always wanna know, which is another strain of what I teach in that course. You always wanna be aware of how you are processing the information that you're taking in throughout the day. You want to be processing that. If you're not, it's just sitting in your field like space junk. And then the intel that is for you has to go on a far more circuitous route around all of that space junk to get to you. Okay, have a nice week and I'll be back to talk about the New Moon next week.
