For a long time I thought my emotional sensitivity was the problem. This episode is the story of what I found when I stopped trying to fix it and started tending to my Moon instead.
My Moon is in Virgo in the 12th house. Understanding what that actually meant — not on paper but in practice, in the body, in daily life — changed everything about how I relate to my own intuition. Not because the gift changed. Because the conditions finally did.
My intuition did not need developing. My relationship to my Moon did.
If something in this episode lands for you, here are a few places to go next.

Hi, how are you? Happy new moon. It's a nice week. We're in the new moon for half of it, the new moon phase. Make sure you do write those things down. I had a really interesting experience, was it yesterday? It's Sunday afternoon when I'm recording this. But yesterday, I was writing in my diary, and, like, I really need to get to Italy. Like, the... I've had this feeling several times in my life before, but it's such a... It's, it's like it's a need the pull to be there. And certainly I have, lineage there, hence the surname. But I've somehow never, never been there. And I wrote in my diary, "I must be in Italy, within the next 12 months." And I kid you not, it was like within five minutes I got an email from a retreat center in Puglia, which is actually where my Venus line goes, bang through Italy. Like, how romantic is that? And yeah, just, telling me about their center. Asked if I wanted to be sent a brochure. I said yes. I- it made me think of this new moon, you know, this whole idea of what I was talking about last week, like spelling it out. You need to write it down. You need to verbalize. And as I was saying, like, to spend this time in, like, your own... Like, that reconnection to your own, own energy, and to really reflect on Sag season, which for me is always when I'm casting out that dream net. I make the wild list. Not the reasonable Capricorn list, but I make the wild, giant list, you know? And that's the energy. Like, we're tapping into that. It's like spelling that out. So yeah, it was just so instantaneous and I should say if, I really do want to get over to Europe probably next year rather than this one. But if there are any great retreat centers and you run them and you're listening to this, do reach out to me, 'cause I would love to do something. I'd love to do something with some of my friends over there, but yeah. Okay, let's get into this week's episode. I really actually wanna talk about my own experience of developing my intuition. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see I've-- I've been putting out this series on each of the signs. We have all of them in our chart. They're like this, these living archetypes that live within all of us, and where we have a lot of planets or angles, those particular archetypes might be stronger in our field, but they, they all live there. And the premise for each of these posts is that each of the signs really lands with very, very specific abilities, and my argument is that an ability isn't yet a skill. And part of the evolutionary journey of each of these archetypes is for that like prima materia, the raw ability to be finely tuned into a skill. And really, that's a process of taking something that's kind of running unconsciously and, bringing it into consciousness. Any time that I'm thinking of things being unconscious or conscious, like to me it's the unconscious is everything out of my peripheral vision, like everything behind me. I can't see it. I don't know it's there. However, it, it, it presents itself in my life or And then everything that's conscious to me is like out here, out in the front. It's a part of my conscious field. I see it, I'm using it. Like, it's one of the tools that is in my toolkit that I'm consciously wielding it. And so I really wanted to take that framework and give you the example of my own moon, and how while your intuition is very, very intricately, clearly, individually expressed in your natal chart, and I love re- doing my mini readings on people's intuition. It's so detailed to you specifically how yours plays out. So while there's like lots of moving parts there, what I would say is your moon sign is an incredible doorway into this. Learning about your moon sign by sign and house, and then really, really nourishing it, tending to it consciously. Like, actively using action and putting your energy there. So I'm gonna use that example with myself this is the abridged G-rated version of this story. If you've ever been in astrology school or one of my courses, I'm, I'm a huge open book, and I really use my- use myself as an example a lot of the times. And then, use like examples from so, so, so many clients that I've had. You know, I've, I've got so much empirical data at this point that the patterns are really obvious, and there's evidence, you know, that I've accrued over the years of being an astrologer. But, really having my own examples is, is a very helpful teaching skill. But for me personally, as somebody who really, is more on the private side, it's really behind the paywall of my courses that you get to see the full, the full picture. So I have a 12th house Virgo moon for reference. And this is my story of how I took this highly sensitive awareness of other people, as well as a lot of clairvoyance, and really went from being depressed and emotionally overwhelmed and exhausted into not being that way at all, and having a very clear and clean exchange now with my abilities. They're what really comes to the foreground when I'm reading somebody's chart. And the overwhelm that I felt in the past just hasn't existed for over a decade now. Thank F. Let's dive in. So I would refer to myself as being like this term that I've coined, like a classic psychic sponge. You know, the kid who really felt everything, absorbed the emotional fields of every room I ever walked into, and Had no language for what I was receiving. It was like I was reading the room, but it was like the room was the emotions, the energy, the moods there were somehow my responsibility. All mine. It took a really long time to develop the container of myself. The 12th house, a 12th house moon, similar to a Pisces moon, really has a high level of this clairsentience. For any of you that have water moons or m- a moon in a water house, which is houses 4, 8, and 12, You will have a strong level of clairsentience, which is really like being this psychic sponge, right? So for me, I had an imaginary friend, Patrick. Absolute legend. And I had a lot of visitors when I was a young child. My mom tells me that when I was really young, I would walk, run into her room, most nights because the three witches had, were there and had visited me, and I was really scared. And really up until I was around about 10, I just remember, that kind of experience. Usually at night, and I would actually go to bed as a young child for it really felt like for at least two years I went to bed every night hands clasped together in some kind of prayer, repeating over and over, "I don't have the power. I don't have the power." 'Cause I was so scared, and I, and I wasn't taught how to play in that world or how to actually use it as a skill, or even to see it as a gift, you know? 'Cause it felt like instead it was a problem. So how I would really describe my, this, this part of myself in my early years is like, I would say I arrived in this life with the antenna fully extended, you know? And nobody really told me how to use it. No- nobody told me that it was information Well, that it was something that I could utilize, and wield, and, like, play with, that it could be lightness instead. And look, both of my parents are very, very clairvoyant, both of them, my mom and my dad. And when I was a kid, my dad was attending, like, psychic circles. My mom still sees things very regularly, and I grew up hearing my dad's ghost stories, which were not inven- inventions. They were, like, his own lived stories. So all of this was incredibly normal to me, and yet there was no passing on of information. It's why I, I, I love reading for children. Also I have a workshop called Psychic Kids, this stuff is really dear to me and really important. And because I had those experiences of going to bed at night for years saying, "I don't have the power, I don't have the power," I really want to, aid children as much as possible in Helping them, feel less scared and more, protected and aware of their abilities in any of these kind of experiences. So yeah, I've got a workshop called Psychic Kids, and I also read for children, or I read for their parents. We look at this stuff a lot. But for me, like, that clairsentience, as a, as a kid, it was like reading the room before I learnt, w- way before I learnt to read myself emotionally, and in terms of my own emotional nourishment, my own emotional wants, needs, and desires. All, all of that was trained outside. You know, really learning to feel everyone first, f- like, almost as a kind of navigation, and then i- in a sense, like, staying safe by knowing what was coming. And this is, like, the adaptation really of that ability. And it, and it's how it, it developed for me. I think it's always really interesting, with the boundarylessness of the 12th house, boundarylessness is really taught. You know, I really think that we all come in here with s- pretty strong instincts. We're all tethered to our body off the bat, and we have these boundaries. Like, we know when that's been stepped over. However, for a lot of 12th house people, we've also learnt to override our boundaries and bring forward empathy and compassion for the other instead of ourselves. And if you've listened to the Bluebeard episode, you'll see how terribly that plays in a relational setting. So like so many people, I, I definitely heard and, and have heard thr- throughout my life the message that I'm too sensitive, and that's always a tricky one, isn't it? 'Cause really it's an incredible... Again, it's actually a, it's an ability, but it took me a long time to see it as that, 'cause again, I, I, I, what was more internalized was this idea that my emotionality was somehow wrong. Like I, m- the construction of my being was somehow faulty in a, in a sense. Obviously I, I don't believe that now. Which is why I teach intuition. Because it's just, it, it, it's something that we all have these signals, and sometimes they're really subtle, and sometimes they are really loud. However, if we... what I see time and time again, and it's certainly my own lived experience, is that these abilities are so natural that they're kinda like so obvious to the individual that you just don't see them. So in that way, it's like they're unconscious. And there's no way that this thing that's so natural and obvious to me could possibly be a gift, or something that I could wield into a skill, because surely everyone, like surely this is just the baseline for everyone. And again, that's just not the case. Like, we are all so, so intricately ourselves. So because I could really feel everything and didn't have a boundary or a, a navigation system that was attuned to myself first, I was really, yeah, swamped by- Everything, everyone. And really had a lot of recurring depressions, I'd say probably from about 4 to really to my early 30s. Some of them were low grade, you know, some of them of a, of a higher pitch. But it was really this exhaustion of absorbing everything without a container, that, like, permeability that had no foundation to distin- like to, to distinguish what's mine versus what belongs to someone else And I think I had this pattern of, again, reading everyone else first, but then also wanting to help them. Like really being like wide open like a lighthouse, you know, while my inner world remained You know, I, in an emotional cell sense, quite unread. Like, I had a rich inner world, but it was like fantasy and it was escapism and all of the great 12th house things, like an incredible imagination. And, and, and lived there for so long. Uh, however, in terms of my own emotionality and what I needed, that really remained unread and unknown. And in that way, I feel like I was lost from myself. And look, for any of you that, that resonate with that at all, especially for the 12th house, alone time is everything. You know, it's like that's how you're really able to integrate into yourself and, and, and check in with the self. And to me, it's like when I didn't have those pockets of time, and I... Before I even knew that I had them, I would seek them out very naturally. But I would I, I just felt foggy And, and that was really the, the d- the, the feeling of de- depression. It was like everything was foggy and misty, and there was no clarity, and there was no sense of direction or self or... Yeah. And, and look, here I need to point out to how nuanced we are and how we do have these very different aspects of our personality. 'Cause in other areas, like I really, really came in here knowing exactly who I was. In my emotional intuitive self, it, it, it's really been a journey So the astrology, the moon in Virgo in the 12th house Really to me the 12th house, let's say from a Moon point of view, it's collective feeling, it's escapism, it's the psychic sponge, it's learned boundarilessness. It's again, like overriding boundaries with empathy and compassion for the other. It's escaping into other people's drama in adulthood, you know. Uh, which I certainly engaged in, you know. And, and to me it was like thinking that love was healing people. Being the love that they needed, being unconditional, which was, which was my word for it, but it was really just being boundaryless, with myself. And For me, it was finding the Virgo that changed everything. You know, Virgo is the archetype of discernment, energetic hygiene, the intelligence of the body. It is boundary. It's the boundary of the skin. It's the boundary of my body. And the more that I was able to locate that and nourish that, which I did through going to an incredible nutritionist and iridologist who I saw on and off for about 15 years, he helped me unbelievably. This was also the time that I was studying astrology, so I was able to understand what Virgo was, what the moon was, what the 12th house was, and then how could I map and then execute, like through action, the nourishment of these, what these different moving parts needed. And again, the alone time was absolutely paramount. What I really learnt through beginning to understand and then embody having a Virgo moon in such a wide open space like the 12th house was that to me Virgo was the container, which was me. You know, it's, it is the sovereign. It is self-responsibility. And I think this is a really big part of it. It was having to identify where I was really, really leaky and boundaryless and where that was doing me an incredible disservice. And Having to take responsibility for me being the person doing that or being in those situations, you know? It's like that Paul Bales quote, like, "The cage door is always open." But it, it took me a long time to realize that I, that, that, that some of the ways I had adapted these natural abilities had kind of created self-fulfilling prophecies, all these, like, annoying little cages that I really just wanted to obliterate as soon as I could see that they were there. So this was what this work was for me, and I think that this is what the work is when we're really developing our gifts. It's, it's less about actually developing the gift, it's more about building the container for the thing So that what's always been there can finally come through, but come through cleanly. My inner world is not a foggy place at all. My emotionality is not foggy at all. And yes, there's still scenarios where I feel sens- like sensitive in a way that's not helpful. And I'm aware of that, and I'm in play with that, if that makes sense In that period of my life too, I went from, a time period where there was really no rules to a time period where everything was rule b- rule-based. Like, to the point where in the place I was living, which was like a communal setup of sorts, there were rules on the wall, framed. So it was like having that, the, the containment of a, a, a routine structure, like these very Virgo things. Clean space, clean mind. All of these things are still incredibly vital to me, and like just help me emotionally, well, help, help me feel, energetically clean and clear, and emotionally clean and clear. Like, if, if this space... now I'm gesturing to my house. If this space is dirty or... It's never dirty, but if it's ever cluttered, like, I, it needs to be clean. And I, and I, I think that's pretty universal. Like, the next time that you clean your space, just notice your inner world pre and post. Like, there's a marked difference. And I just think for me, having a level of routine and structure... And look, my moon's in the 12th house. Like, I, I can't do the same thing day in, day out. Um, I, 'cause I will just... I'm, also I'm a Gemini. Like, I need variety. But there are specific things that I do every week, you know? And, and that I'll do multiple times a week. But I'm not, I'm not strict about it. I'm not, I'm not self-flagellating, you know? Which is really that sort of Virgo unconscious, really unhelpful, um, expression of that archetype While I can be very social, I really tend towards being a hermit, and I do spend, lots of time alone, I need that. Like, I would say that's a, a deep need. If my schedule is just too packed with too many things, I will feel overwhelmed. Like, I need these periods where I can catch my own breath. And while I can't, at this stage in my life, like, get up and journal every day like I may have when I was in a maiden, on the weekends when I do have that time, I do do those things, and I do start the day with a meditation. And mostly, actually, I'm just using the Open app. I really love their meditations. They're not, like, condescending or lame or... They're just, I don't know, they're, they're cool, if meditations can be cool. And for me, like with that, the container of the Virgo, like finding that and nourishing that really, again, it looked like routines and my body needing movement, you know, like a, a level of regularity in what I'm doing. Again, not every day. It's not about being a control freak, with myself, and I, and I have had that tendency in the past. It's more like this predictability of certain daily, weekly practices you know, I meal- I have meal plans. I do, I don't, do not go into shopping centers. But I get my food delivered, you know, every week. The environment is always clean. Things are scheduled. I have, you know, everything is written down, and then everything is also in my Google Calendar. I am an organized creature. And it's interesting 'cause the 12th house you could say is really it's more ephemeral. It's more, off-world. And, you know, it, it's like me really being here, really being in my body, really being present, like, in this very moment right now, it sounds counterintuitive, but it allows me to access so much more of the, the, the juice of what the 12th house can offer. It allows me to, Well, now, like I'm, I'm so much more self-contained. Like I, I never walk into a room and find my consciousness is down the other end of the table in somebody else's business, you know? And, you know, as Mariam Hasna says, who I love, it's really about learning, especially when you have this, like, 12th house or Piscean energy, it is about learning to mind your own business. And that reframe did so much to help me because I realized that that's where I was actually being leaky, you know? And the beauty of my job is that, like that Virgo-ness can see the potentiality in situations, people, scenarios, and m- my intuitive abilities, which we all have, now I'm able to use them in service to my work and in reading for people. And there's a, there's a clean and clear energetic exchange there. I, I no longer walk down the street and then feel completely overwhelmed by feeling everybody's emotions as I walk past them. Like that just does not happen anymore 'cause I'm, I'm completely in myself. And, you know, I don't walk into the room and try and match it anymore, or, or unconsciously immediately match it or be what's needed in that space. I'm able to stay sovereign within myself. And, and that took a lot of practice and, and, and that's the conscious part of it, right? It's having the awareness of where things are slippery or not working well, and then the responsibility of catching myself every time I go into what is very familiar and bringing myself into the new expression of the thing. That took work Um, also, like for me it's the energetic hygiene is s- it's, you know, when I... The, the showers where I have the salt scrub and I wash my hair, my God, like that feeling of just being like newborn newborn clean. Like, it, like a cleanliness that feels like I'm freshly myself. Nothing, compares to that. You know, I, I, I am just so me in, in that, those moments. Obviously, you know, salt is such an incredible one. And what I would recommend for any of you who, who identify with anything that I'm saying here, or have children w- who you know have, this sort of clairsentience and clairvoyance that I'm, that I'm talking about, put Epsom salts in your bath or in their bath. So it's interesting, like sometimes when we think of developing our relationship to our intuition There can be this idea that it's like we have to reach outside of ourselves to craft the thing. But really, a lot of the time it's it's this discovery that it's about a level of maintenance, awareness, maintenance, and, and responsibility. You know, like these very essential, practical, unglamorous, activities that allow us to maintain our connection to ourself. And, and again, it's gonna be different for all of us On an emotional level, how this really played was learning to be in a conversation, let's say, and rather than my focus being on them, their feelings, their facial expression, their tone of voice, the subtext, et cetera, w- it was really being present with myself and being like, "How do I feel in this situation? What do I need here?" Like, "What do I want here?" Which was really, really foreign territory, and that I, I would say is the part that's taken the most work. You know, it, it's, it's something that I have to tend to regularly and has only been a worthwhile, project, let's say And so now it's like on the other side of that work, and again, these are, there's a level of maintenance here, like I just said, but what really changed is these abilities that I have work for me Rather than, I don't know, like through me, if that makes sense I think an ability can really run unconsciously for a lifetime. Whereas that skill, again, it's something that you consciously wield. It's the same gift, like held in a container. It becomes something completely different in its quality and in its usefulness Now when I, finish a session with a client, that's it. It's like I, it doesn't... Wait, I- my boundaries are so clean and clear with myself, and in the way that my business is structured, I'm not, I'm not in that person's field for a second longer than the sesh. You know, I wouldn't even say I'm in their field, I'm in their chart. And then I'm able to access so much that way. My point is, like, I'm not thinking about them after. I'm not in, in the feeling of the session after. It- it's clean. And that's how I know that the en- energetic exchange is correct, you know? And I... And for, for those of you who work in these kind of realms, I think that's when you really know it's time to perhaps look at your pricing, for example. If you get off a call or o- or even during the thing, you feel drained and tired, or afterwards you feel drained, it's like, then you know the exchange wasn't clean. And so now it's like I'm not giving without receiving. I'm not absorbing without clearing And now my own emotional information and certainly my own, my own intuitive information, it arrives clearly and neutrally, not because it changed, but because the noise cleared out. I learned how to process my inner world stuff. I learned how to process my energy So yeah, this was really how I learned to nourish my own moon, nourish my intuition in the process, and my inner world, my, like my relationship to myself, everything that the moon represents. And this is what this work looks like. I hope this has given you some, like practical intel. It's not about developing the gift. You already have intuition, and it's strong. I've never read for anyone and looked at their chart and been like, "Whoa, they don't have intuition." That's never once happened. Like, we all have it beautifully, artfully in our own ways, you know? So it's not about developing the gift, it's about building the container, so that what has always, like been there can come through more cleanly, and that you're able to recognize it. I think that's the most important bit. You're able to recognize it as a gift, as a, as an actual ability, not as a something that you're, that is you're too sensitive, or you're too analytical, or you're too judgmental. Like the amount of people with strong eighth houses who, when I say like, as soon as you meet somebody, the instinctual, like yes or no that you have about them is i- i- incredible and bang on. The amount of people that I've read for and said that to, and they're like, "I'm s- I'm so glad you said that. I was so worried that I was just really judgmental." It's like, no, it's, it's your intuition. It's an instinct. It's a fine, sharp instinct. And, and that's the thing, it's like these abilities, we, we override them, or we, they're, they're unconscious, you know? And so again, it's like we think intuition is something that we have to reach outside of ourselves and bring into us, and what I'm hopefully saying here is that it is more about, like tending to and nourishing your inner world and what it needs, and, and learning how you best process your stuff so that you can clear your field, so that you can hear yourself more. If you wanna do that work, and if something in this episode has landed, then the Moon Oracle wait list is in the show notes our first call is with the full moon in Aquarius, which is on Thursday the 30th of July, just after the nodes switch into Aquarius and Leo. I designed this, years ago now, based on my own findings of doing all of this work myself and, and going through those hard yards. Like, really, it's, it's about living from the inside out. You'll find the wait list in the show notes. The wait list always gets the early bird spash. Yeah. I hope you have a beautiful week. I'll see you next week. And then I'll be talking about Jupiter moving into Leo, which is gonna be awesome. Okay. Bye.
