Here's something to think about when you're crafting your resume or preparing for your job interview or interviewing. What do you think the balance is between your past, your present in your future, in terms of what the employer that you've applied to, who you're interviewing with what they care about most they care most about your past. Well, you would think so that's what the resume is. It's all in the past, but really applying that to what their needs are. That's the future. And that's what they're most concerned about tomorrow. What you can do for them. Tomorrow. So when you focus on what you've done in your conversation with them, That's good. They need to know that. But if you can. Create a thread that then brings that conversation. Into what you can do for them in the future, how you can guide them, how you can help them. Avoid pain go the right direction. What they want with the skills that you've developed in the past. But then guide to the future. That's when you will create an impact for them. That's when you've painted a picture of what the future looks like with you, them getting more of what they want. More good things, less paint. If you are a CPA, maybe it's more clients or fewer mistakes. If you're in marketing, maybe it's a more sales. It could be a ton of different things. So think about what do you do? What does this company want with this job that you've applied for? What's their goal? Because they're thinking about the future. Unless you are a historian or you work at a museum. Or something along those lines. You should be focused less on the past and more in the future. A mistake I frequently see is people wanting to recite their resume. What they've done. Those are important. Those qualifications are necessary, but your ability to apply what, you know, what you know, how to do. To the future. That's why the company is hiring you. They're not hiring you to go do the things that you did two years ago, two years ago. They want you to take what you've learned two years ago and apply that to their current problem, their current initiative. So shift your thinking around these things, to what it is that they want, what they need from you. And it will make a big impact. On their perception of how you can solve their problems. And if you can solve their problems, they're going to want you on board. And hopefully soon, how do they get you soon? That's by making a great.
