Podcast or not to podcast - Creativity versus consistency. You've heard it all before all of the marketing pundits, those who have made it sharing that the key to making it is consistency. Well, I've come to question this as a part of the insanity of doing and not being.

I started Sacred Spaces in October and, yeah, the first two months have been consistent in posting regular episodes until I and it wasn't. Early in December I hit a content wall. Some would call it a writer's block and my inner critic, an imposter, would have me believe this to be true. So not. I have come to know that the times where I am struggling with content is where I am trying to force the content, the flow, the energy to my will, and it doesn't and hasn't ever worked. If anything, it has frustrated me and caused my creativity to seize up even more.

As an intuitive, I have come to know and trust the downloads as they come through from my connection to spirit. When I am in my will, my connection to source is disrupted, and that is when I find myself in content, no man's land. And despite every will in the world to honor the man-made timetable of what is construed to be success, that consistency of posting, each week I hit the wall of what has been seen to be the dreaded writer's block. I am not in control of the when, the where and the how of the spiritual downloads, and so I have learned to surrender into letting go of the need to be in control and to dictate the content and frequency and consistency of its publishing.

By definition, the word consistency by the world out there means that the yardsticks of success are ones which I would not be meeting. All I know is that when I succumb to the trends and the external promptings of what success is, I am down a rabbit hole, that one which is fraught with comparing myself to others, to external benchmarks, and all the while, my inner urgings have been for a long while now telling me that there is something different in the way in which I look through the lenses of consistency, and that there is a way of being consistent that resides in a higher energy and vibration. I only have to pay attention to my imposter and the inner voices within berating me for not being consistent in terms of things like weekly posts and daily posts in social media and the like.

What is consistency is more about me being consistent in and with my own sense of authenticity, and that the content that I put out is consistent with who I am, with the messages that I receive from Spirit, and that I honor my connection to Source, instead of being on a content treadmill that ekes away at the authenticity of the message, it being diluted, too, by external measures.

Surely, the only measure of success for me now is that I am being true to me and, in turn, offering me and my truth to you as a way for you, too, to access your truth. I have come to learn that being a creative is directly related to, and in line with, the consistency with which I honour myself and the creative process. It is not something I do, it is something I am, and when I am in alignment with my I am-ness, then there is no stopping the creative flow.

And, by the way, all was not lost during the December hiatus. If anything, spirit saw to it that the space was created in a different direction and one in which will be the source of many podcast episodes to come. More on that in upcoming weeks. Needless to say, the creative floodgates have been opened again and with a new understanding of aligning the gift of consistency with authenticity in the understanding of natural and divine law yet another gift of the beautiful, divine feminine
