Yeah. Hello and happy Friday and welcome back to Unleash Moms. Yay. Happy Friday everybody. Alicia has got a little game plan for us. This is actually going to be an unplanned, like no topic, episode. haven't done one of those in a long time. So we're just getting back onto business as usual at this point and entering in our chaos. Yes, chaos indeed. No, I feel like over the last couple episodes, we've talked about things that we probably could go back and like touch on. Like, well, if you follow us on Instagram, you know that I got an espresso couple, I don't know, it's been like a month maybe. And it's been like, I love it. And then my skylight. like 24-7 like buzzing with coffee now. yeah, I had to like cut back to you because I wasn't sleeping but we're gonna talk more about that and then like my skylight that we got that I got for Christmas We said that we would do an update on that after a few weeks and what are we're like six weeks after Christmas, so is only six weeks after Christmas. Yeah, roughly. mean, six or eight. Somewhere in there. Yeah, so we've got some topics we're going to talk about and we'll just see what happens. Welcome to our podcast room. Get cozy. Yeah, so we're going to kick this off with some things that we are looking forward to. Do you want to tell our big one that we're doing this weekend? We're going to Waco girls trip. we're having a girls trip. We're taking Logan and Delilah and my mom and then our friend Nat, who was on the podcast a couple episodes back. And we're all going to have a girls weekend. We're gonna leave after school on Friday and then come back Sunday. We went for a day trip. it's been like three years ago though. Well, I know it's really cold this week. I, it really is cause so much stuff is outside too. So. We're just going to wear jackets and, or if we just hunker down at the Airbnb, then I guess that's what we do. We'll bring some games or go get some games or something. Um, but we'll get to try. I think there's a couple of coffee, coffee places that I have saved. And then Delilah found a. Food Hall Place. okay. Kind like how the one is here. Yeah. but it's, yeah, like those. and then of course the, the silos and the Magnolia, we've been fighting about what this is called. Delilah the other day said it was Magnolia Farms, but it's not. And then, yes. Yes. Magnolia Farms, Magnolia Marketplace. Yeah. I they have a farm, so. So we'll try that out. And then I think there's, there is like a zoo place there, but it's been really cold. So I don't know if we want to go there. I know I was, had like mapped out what we were going to pack because of course I did. And then I was like, I got to change this whole map. well, okay, so this is that you have this reminded me of you the you have asked me over the last couple weeks Like what are we doing for food and I'm like Alex. It's a girl's trip. I literally don't care Like I'm not planning anything. She's like, but normally we plan meals and I'm like, I'm not you this. I'm just like over here like, I don't like this. I don't like this at all. go and get breakfasty foods for snacking and then eat out. Like I am on nobody's time. Like we could do whatever we want. Yeah, Leisha's like, we are just gonna hang out and see where the flow takes us. And I am not a very good like, flow-er. I can flow with a plan. Yeah. Well, our plan is that there are stores and we're going to plan on stopping to get something. We've got three hours to drive, so we'll plan something in the car. But she was like, but Logan has to eat. I'm like, yeah, bring car snacks. Have you met Delilah or my children? Because they need to eat and have snacks everywhere they go. but yeah, it, we're super, super excited about it, but it is going to be very cold. So that's something that I'm looking forward to is when the weather gets warmer. Cause I don't like being cold. I don't miss the cold. I missed the cold, we got snow with our cold, though it did snow a little bit this morning, just a little tiny flurry and then it away. So I don't really enjoy when it's just frigid like it is right now. Like there's just cold with no point. And then like there's nothing going on in San Antonio when it's this cold either. No, everything like shuts down. Even my mom this morning was like, the kids had school. I'm like, yeah. And there was flurries outside. Yeah, when I saw the flurries, I was like, we're going home. They're calling it. We're going to get a message in driveline. Know well, then we got an alert like a couple hours later and I was like are they sending the kids home? Like I was like, what is this? I know it's funny Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to warmer weather and summertime I was just telling Alex I'm excited to not be waking up at 550 in the morning 7 o'clock is really I Don't have littles though Little slogan wakes up in there. wakes up super early too, but he doesn't bother me usually. He'll even come shut my door. just gotten to the point now where she's like, I can go be in the living room by myself. And like, mom lets me go watch, you know, whatever or play on the tablet or, whatever. But then now her sisters wake up with her and then I'm like, crap, I have to get up with them now. Well, least maybe they'll sit in front of TV for a little bit or something. Right, while I half asleep make coffee. Yeah, yeah, definitely just I'm looking forward to summer and the things but Do you have anything else you're looking forward to because I have another thing but I'll break and let you have some some airtime My dad is coming into town. Logan's sixth birthday is next weekend. So that's really fun. And then she wants to go to the beach though, and it's obviously too cold right now. Yeah, it's become a tradition and it's never been this cold though, while we've been here and going to the beach on her birthday every year. so we're planning to go over spring break instead. Well, my dad is here. we tend to do a lot when he's here, but that's our only one, like that's absolutely happening thing. you have any must-dos on your list? I know normally you put together a list, but have you done that yet? I haven't done that yet. You know, I, I for Christmas gifted him, say gifted with quotation marks because it has not been purchased or anything. It's just like, I'm going to do it for my dad was to take him to a baseball game. Um, cause we've been into a game together in a long time, obviously no period because we moved here. So like we used to go to games all the time. Yes. Why? No, no. I don't know what seasons for sports are. like, I was like, pretty sure it's there's not going to be any games here yet. And so I looked it up and I was like, man, you're coming one month. Like it was like one month too early. Basically. And I was like, are you sure you don't want to postpone so we can go to a game together with just literally his Christmas present. But yeah, he needs to come back before it's too hot. Cause I just don't think I could sit in the stadium. I don't know. I don't think so. Yeah, baseball games here are completely different than from back at home. Yeah, definitely. for spring break, my family is going to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. And we're super excited about it. Just telling them all we're going to go to a cabin in the woods. And then my mom was like, well, I don't like it when you say that. And I was like, it's fine. yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Whatever. but we got an Airbnb, that's on a little pond and we can fish in the pond. And then there's the Broken Bow Lake and then there's just like a bunch of like touristy random stuff to do. But I'm like, if we just unplug and go hang out and do whatever, there's a, a hot tub at the Airbnb too. So we're just going to go and I think it's like an eight hour drive. Please not be cold like it is right now. Well, it'd be fine if it is. We're not doing any, yeah, technically we're not really doing it. I mean, we don't have any plans. There's just like, I don't know, a couple of touristy things to do. well, I'm pretty excited about it and go explore. Cause we obviously have gone and done lots of trips to Arizona. but we haven't explored that much north of where we are and or east of where we are. So we're trying to kind of. branch out. Yeah. I'm adding to my to-do list for spring break now because my dad's going to be here and I just like, Oh, it's perfect person to like rope into this. Uh, Logan's been asking you camping obviously, but I don't really have like, I don't know where to do that. Really. I need to figure that out. Um, especially because it's like tent camping is what we'd have to do or like a cabin or something. Yeah. And, um, so we told her we could do a camp out in the backyard. And I was like, this would be a great thing for with my dad to do with her because he loves that. Yeah. That'd be really fun. Okay, well, those are some of the things we're looking forward to. So if you guys are looking forward to anything or doing anything cool for spring break, let us know. Alex might need some ideas. Yeah, give me some ideas. I'll be in town. but my dad is a big gung ho and he's a big like outdoorsy busy person. So we are for sure doing the beach. Now we're doing a camp out too. Yeah. but we probably will need some more stuff to do some more fun activities. Yeah. Or places to eat coffee, beer. Yeah. the things. Okay, so let's move on to, like I mentioned before, we're gonna do like things that we're loving right now. And I'm let you go first Alex, because you know how much I talk. okay. So we should, was like, Alex, where are some things you're loving before we started this episode? And I was like, I don't know. And then I was like, I guess, well, literally my Christmas presents basically. so for one update, I finished my book thing that my mom got me for Christmas. Yeah. And I should honestly post a picture of it in our stories because it is so cool. Yeah. She got me another one. really? Oh, that's cool. going to get another one. And the other one is a garden one. So it's like a greenhouse with like glass sides and stuff. It's really cool, but it is really difficult. I'm struggling with it. It is challenging. So one of them is in my bookcase. That's the one I just finished. And it's right next to my Harry Potter series because it's like brooms and potions and stuff in it. And then the greenhouse one. is going to go in my kitchen. I'm going to have those floating shelves and I think it will fit perfectly. Yeah, between all my plants and stuff, will be like fit right in. So that is done. I'll have to post a picture of it. And then I have been really enjoying though my frother I got, my milk frother. That thing has been such a time saver in the mornings and so nice. And I've been this, I've been so close to making latte art because of it. I don't have patience for that. I almost bought that same one as you, but I didn't. But I'm not, I like the one I got, but. I like the one I have. Yours is like, it's all one piece, like the mechanical part of it and then the carafe, which is nice for that like aesthetic-ness of it. But I like that mine's separate because I can do the pouring like how I want, but also I can straight up put the whole thing in the dishwasher if I want to. Yeah, yeah, because my bass is separate, which... I mean, both styles work and I think they both, your frother works really good, as minus the fact that you like... unless you don't follow the guidelines that are inside the little cup. Yeah. Yeah. I come over and I'm like, Alicia, make me an espresso, which now that we've been talking about it, I kind of want a coffee. a decaf coffee. Okay. I like, I don't want to be up all night. and she was like, okay, let me do that. And I was like, okay, but do you like milk? I don't want almond milk, you know, and she puts it there and we look over at it and milk is just like pouring out of. the top. It's every it was all it was everywhere it was everywhere. So what went wrong was inside it tells you the minimum and maximum lines but had the way I've been doing mine because I do almond milk and I don't I don't like foam so I don't foam I just do the temperature one. Well you wanted foam and it was milk and so I poured it to the same line that I pour mine at which is the temperature line which is four times the amount for foam. there was no room Yeah, you're like I'm starting from scratch Well, because all the, was past those lines. And so then I realized that I had four or five times the amount of liquid that was supposed to be in there. So now we know. she pays attention. I knew. I didn't think I had to tell you. gosh, it was just one of those like stupid moments and I was like, okay. Yeah, just do what I do. No, no don't even think mine has like all of its lines. I don't think even if I filled it all the way to the top with the foam, I don't think it would pour over. Cause it has like such a gap. Yeah. So that's one of fave, fave, fave loving it. yours is really cool because you can do like hot chocolate in it too. don't see why mine couldn't do that. But yours has way more settings than mine. Yeah. really cool. And I've been enjoying trying them all out. And the latte art, I'm so stinking close. I need to like make myself the little map thing of like how you pour it. I bet I could do it then. know that just overwhelms me I just can't But my Nespresso machine I what were we doing? I was like, oh we got the quartados at Starbucks and that's what sparked the whole thing I was like, I I want to be able to make these I'm because they're like, they're so expensive though and so I was like They're like almost as much as our venti brown sugar shaken espresso drinks that we get. out like the, the milligrams of caffeine and it was like less. I don't know. It was just crazy. Or was it? No, no, no. It was way more comparable for the side, like a venti brown sugar oat milkshake and espresso too. Yeah. But they're so, yeah, they're so small. And so we went on this whole hunt for an espresso went to, we went to Walmart. They didn't have, I feel like we went somewhere else or maybe I looked on the way. and Hayden were getting down with us. We ended up at H-E-B. ended up at HGB and they had one and then the box made it look like it was a colored like a weird color one so I'm like wait I'm like so we open the box and ended up being the black one which is fine but it's seriously I have just loved this thing I just loved it I it's like the highlight of my day I made brewed coffee this morning I've only made brewed coffee twice since I've gotten the Nespresso because Leisha's favorite is just her brewed coffee. but yeah, the Nespresso has been so cool. And then I got, you can buy like where you can make your own or like refill them. Yeah. So I bought the little thing to do that. And so now I can do decaf coffee cause I haven't bought pods for the decaf, but I can fill it with my decaf beans. Cause I have beans that are decaf. I didn't want to buy a sleeve of the decaf when I had so many beans. to use that first. Yeah. And so it works pretty good. And so now I'm like, if I want something hot, then I just do that. And I even I'm like, what, why would you have anything else besides coffee? It's actually really bad. So bad. I feel like maybe we'll have to check in with you like at the six month mark. Are you still drinking coffee for all your drinks? mean, that's been true for many years. I do. I try. Oh, I just thought of something else. Yeah, pretty much. Pretty much. That is I just thought of something else though. I even remember. but yeah, the Nespresso it's been, it's just been so good. And I, I think I've only bought Starbucks just a couple of times since having it. I don't know. It's, it's really great. Um, another thing that I have been enjoying, I know you didn't like them, so I brought them over to mom's, but those hopwaters, I know you really didn't like them. I've been drinking, I think they're, I don't get a hoppy vibe off of them. So these hopwaters are, what do they have? Like the mushroom extracts or whatever, like the calming, L-theanine, I think like stuff like that. So it's just like calm, but they have like hop extract in them. So they're called hopwater. smell like hops. I kept calling it dirty water. Yeah. Well, I saw some influencers. I saw them before. And then I saw some influencers that were trying them and I was like, okay. And then they have a mango one, which I love. And then a grapefruit one. I was like, okay. So I bought them. I don't mind them. I think they're good. But yeah, I you did not like them. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Do you have another thing you're loving? My Kindle because I'm a book girl and I just have been loving my new Kindle and it's that jade green color so every time I look at it it just makes me so happy. Yeah. love things like that where you're just like, you just look at something that just makes you happy. I have a lot of things like that. Kind like our coffee mugs over here that are sitting on the like we bought those and it was like, we just use them specifically for when we're doing podcasts. There's smiley faces and green and pink and they're just like, make us happy. They're just cute. and they were just like a we just found them randomly. Is that what we were? Yeah. so cute. Well, let's see, last week Delilah brought her Kindle in here when we were doing podcast stuff or whatever. two years, three years ago, because I've been spending a lot of time trying to get it to work. I ended up paying for subscribing to the Kindle Unlimited. It was better. still, the system runs a little bit slow, but that happens with any of the tech. It's because it gets outdated so fast. are weird because like my other Kindle that I just retired but didn't and gave to my mom it was like over 10 years old. There is an option that I can, like break the kid mode, but I needed the password and I don't know what the password is. And now I've looked up how to beat the passcode and it says I have to reset the Kindle. So I just, I could, but I just, I got her some books on there, so she'll be set for a little bit. good. Yeah, I was, we should talk about, I have a topic for later. We can talk about it. Um, so the other thing that I'm loving is my skylight, which Alex has been checking it out every, every time she comes over, she kind of pokes around and checks it out. But it really has been really cool because we can do all of our, the calendars on there, obviously, cause it is like, well, so yeah, it is a big calendar, but it just is so cool. just, yes. So you do the chores and then you have the rewards and then you have the meal plans. And then there's lists. So I think we talked about this before where Jameson wanted to do a summer bucket list. I think we talked about in the podcast a couple of episodes back and I know if it wasn't the podcast and it was in person, but anyways, so I set him up with a list on there and I said, okay, bud, like you can go and put whatever you want on your summer bucket list. And so he's been doing it. He's got, and then Delilah made one. So they both have their lists of, yeah, summer bucket list stuff. It's just, it's really cool. But the. Reward system is really cool because you can put however many stars you want to an item. So if it's like a routine thing and not necessarily a chore or something that you just want them to do, I don't know, you can put different. So like for routine stuff, we do one star. And then if it's a chore item, they get two stars. And then their rewards are whatever they picked. So I do different levels. So we have like treasure box for so many stars. Right. And they get ice cream night. And then Delilah does for like 200 stars. She, and I just let them accumulate so they can still, they can grab their treasure box. But then once they get 200 total redeemed points, essentially they can get their whatever next one is. So for 200 points, she gets a $20 gift card. yeah. And then I can like. bargain with them. So this weekend, the dog poop needed to be picked up in the backyard. And I was like, I'm going to up the ante here. I'm going to be like, right. Yeah. So each one of them have their chore chart of their own things. And then in the middle, I do like up for grabs or like family chores. like feeding the dogs, watering the dogs, turning on a robot vacuum, taking out the garbage, those things they can do. And then I can assign their stars to them. for doing those things. like, if they were really motivated and they wanted treasure box today, they could do all those up for grabs chores and probably get treasure box that day. It was pretty cool. So picking up dog poop is one of those, which is like a weekly chore. can also do like certain days or certain chores. like their showers are every other day. So then I put that on there or packing their lunch is only school nights. You know, that's on there like that, but the dog poop, I was like, it really needs to be picked up. So I put a hundred stars. Jameson ran out and told you when you dropped Logan off this weekend and he was like, I'm going to get a hundred stars. So he did it and he got his hundred stars. So I was like, okay. I mean, once he figured out the actual work that went into it, he wasn't so happy, but hopefully it was worth a hundred stars. Yeah. he get his reward? Did he would he give enough for reward that night? well, he had enough for like three treasure box, I think. So, and our treasure box has like some toys. He's got some Hot Wheels in there and mostly it's candy or we just put, it was probably shock you, but we, bought a variety pack of fruit by the foot and fruit roll-ups and gushers. So they've been picking those. fruit by the foots the other day so I got her the Annie's ones. no, just, was like, you know what? It's like a childhood thing. I didn't get those very much as a kid, but like, there was just like a memory like sparked. And I was like, I feel like I need these. Jesse and I have eaten more than the kids have and they're almost gone. I get something that I had as a kid and I'll be like, oh, it would be kind of fun to like let Logan try I end up eating it. Yeah Oh man, okay, but the Annie's fruit by the foot their version is actually really good. I tried it the other day say that these taste that good. Like, I mean, they're not my favorite, but it was cool to be like, yeah, we had these when we were kids. It was one of those things. But anyways, the skylight is super cool. We just added photos for the longest time. We didn't add the photos and Jesse loves it. He loves the pictures on there. It's so funny. Okay. We should, we could probably pull that Marco Polo I sent you that day. and share it because the first day that it was on there and this it does a slideshow and right where my skylight is is one of my little tiny windows above like my coffee bar and so I'm sitting there sitting out to the backyard and out of the corner of my eye it looked like someone walked by the window because the screen of this thing is really big and then It's just funny. So then I showed Alex and then it was a picture of Delilah on there and she was like, what is Delilah doing home? And I'm like, yeah, no, that's what I'm dealing with right now. It still gets me when it swipes. It looks like someone's walking by the window. it's because of where it must be because of where it's at. it, I don't know. I mean, because we have it turned vertically instead of horizontal. And so it's just funny. We have also the picture of the kids at Port A in the shark at the store. And the shark takes up the whole screen. And so it's just, it's been comical. It's been really funny. But the kids have been asking me, they'll ask, like, take a picture me and then put it on the skylight. So like when they had rodeo day a couple of weeks ago, now they were like, take a picture and put it on there. So. Now they're approved by the government. That's funny. We have just not as big as yours, but we have the Amazon Echo show, you know? And so we'll have pictures slide through there that are on my Amazon Prime photos. And Logan will like stop it and be like, when was this picture taken? Because it will be like a picture of me and Cody from when we were like before her. And she's like, what were you doing here? Where was I? And I'm like, you weren't born yet. I know I only went back like one year's worth of pictures, but I think we've talked about this before how my kids think that we don't go do anything because they, I mean, I we talked about it when we interviewed them. You should just put in like all the things. did. So like all these pictures are the last year, all things that we went and did. And so I'm like, look at all these cool things we did last year. But I think I need to go back and do like longer, like when they were little, I think that they would enjoy pictures of like when they were babies and stuff. when she goes to bed asked me mom can I see five pictures of me when I was a baby? It's just like her thing every single night to go to bed She's like I want to see pictures of me as a baby and then she wants to watch mini baking and then she wants to read a book It's like her ritual That's so funny, but yeah, I the skylight is really cool I It hasn't worn the the newness hasn't worn off yet, so we'll see I really have been wanting a skylight for a long time as well. When Leisha was getting hers, I was like so excited for her. And I was excited also for her to be the guinea pig because obviously it's not a super cheap thing. Um, but there's some other brands that have them too. There's you said the hearth hearth hearth one. And then Amazon's released their own version. Also recently it's the Amazon show, like what mine is, but it's literally the skylight. Yeah, I know you said that I still never went and looked it up. so I was looking at that one just because I have a bunch of Alexa's already scattered through my house as my, my speaker system. so it would be easy to incorporate. but it doesn't have all the functions the skylight does. Like it doesn't have the routines, like it doesn't have the re, the chores list and the reward system and stuff like that. I could maybe put an app on it for that maybe, but if they would like grow and adapt. Cause I know it's skylight. They're constantly, surveying the odd, the, their audience, their market, I guess. and they have a Facebook group that there's, they are really active in and they'll set up like, basically market research meetings. They'll be like, Hey, we have 10 spots open. If you guys want to give us feedback, like jump on it. Yeah. Yeah. And you have full access to like their roadmap of what's coming up. Or you can even access like what people have submitted that they want and like where it is in the queue. Like, yeah, it is really, really neat. So they're constantly changing it. But I would be the Amazon one. would wonder, I would wonder if it. Yeah. heard a lot about it. came across it on accident when I was looking at, different Amazon echoes, cause I want to put one in the playroom, but, I was like, look, Amazon has their own. So I might have to look into them more. Yeah. So we were just talking today, which has been a discussion for a while, but we both this year may be looking, I don't know, just like throw out new things. We both are looking at getting new cars this year. Well, we hope to. I don't want to commit. Yeah. had my car for eight years and I drive a Honda Pilot and that year of Hondas and it's white, that year of Hondas, the paint got recalled. And so now the paint on my car is just coming off everywhere. I love my car. It's been absolutely great, but like I'm really getting annoyed with the paint. Yeah Well, but even like washing it at home it would just chip off anyways, you know yeah, it's really bad. So I don't know, but it is paid off. Wouldn't have spent really nice. Yeah. So I have, I, it's evolved over the last couple of years, but we are looking at a Toyota Sequoia, the Ford Expedition and Jesse wants to look at the Tahos, but I don't really think. Well, they're just a different class. like. then we. have a pile, like a selection of that class too. But I would look, we would probably still look at the new pilots, because I do love my car. But I think we're gonna go with something bigger. I have an Ford Explorer. I think it is the worst car on the planet. So if you have a Ford Explorer and you love it, great for you. I love that for you. If you're in the market, don't get an Explorer. It is the worst car. We even have a friend who had like the same car as me and she was having all the same issues as me. So I know it's not just me. And like literally every Ford you see, like Explorer you see on the road has the same pieces missing off of it. They had a recall on it and they were like, but we don't have a fix. So it's like, okay, what was the point? and I just, it's just the worst car. Like it literally floods when it rains. So it's just bad car. So I want to get a new car for that reason. But also like we bought the car. Cause I had a Subaru Forester and we sold it in Washington. I miss that car still. That car was amazing. Love that car. Highly recommend a Subaru Forester if it's the right fit for your family. but. we, when we moved here, needed a bigger car, because obviously twins, right? So we bought this Explorer with the thinking that it would be enough room for the twins and our oldest and our family. But then once the twins arrived, we were like, this is not big enough. It's not working. So I'm now like, we need a van. So the Honda Odyssey is kind of, I think where I've narrowed it down to. And I went and sat in one the other day. It was so nice. I bet all the features just for a bigger family. new one either. It was like, I think the one I sat in was a 2019. Um, cause I don't want to buy a new one, new one. The kids are just going to trash it. So, um, it was so nice. There was so much room. I was like, is this car twice as big? Yeah, right. I know the vans are really nice for the bigger families and all the car seats and all the gear. Cause like when you take the Wonderfold, you're like, that's it. That's it. I know. And I have figured out how to make it fit in my trunk with all the seats up. So if you guys ever want some wonderful tips or tricks or hacks, just DM us. I've got some for you. But which has helped because then like when my family's in town and we're doing big trips like the zoo or the beach or whatever, and they need to bring that, I can still bring it and fit all the people I need to fit in the car. But it, the Honda Odyssey's trunk is like twice the size with all the seats up. pretty cool. That's kind of where we're at. If I get a new car, probably, I the kids are getting a little bit too big to ride in his Volkswagen Golf when we go travel. And so just would be nice if we go somewhere. I mean, obviously we fit everything in there so we can fit everything in my car now, but it would be nice to have something bigger. And he doesn't like the way he fits in my car. So I think if we got the same one again, it probably would feel similar. I mean, the new ones are going to be different for sure, because they're totally different. But so I don't know, we'll see. And then if we eventually get like a travel trailer or something, those would all have the capability to pull it. And then we don't have to ride in the old truck because my husband has a very old truck and he adores it. He loves it. It's the greatest thing on the planet for him, but I don't want to go travel really far in it. That's just not, I don't want to do that. trying to be like we don't need a van you just need you can just get an f-150 is like I Literally would rather die like no. I'm not dragging a wonderfuled in and out of the bed of a truck I, trucks, smaller trucks were on the radar for me for a long time, but I don't think I could get rid of my third row seat. I've had a third row seat for eight years now. Well, yeah, cause I could take, I mean, it's just so, like, I just don't think I could do it. So that's where we landed back on a SUV. We'll just have to get another SUV. I can't get rid of a third row seat either, because I mean, just alone because I have three kids. But then if I ever want to be able to take any of your kids or when my family comes into town and then like if I get a van, I can fit all the kids in my car, which will be so cool. it'll be so nice. But yeah, so let us know what you guys drive if you like it. Do you drive a van? What's good about it? Or a bigger SUV? Or if you have twins and you're like, this is the only car. In car seats. In car seats. Yeah, Alicia's like three kids. You have like a whole... Yeah, it's a whole herd. So funny. All right. What should we talk about next? You said you had a topic. Do you remember what it was? Hmm. we should talk about road trip musts. Like what's your one thing you have to travel with? Hmm. or two things if you can't narrow it down. like personally or just like for the family. I think personal and then we can go over family. I don't have an answer for either one of those, so I don't know why I asked. Reusable water bottles. So we always, always, always take reusable water bottles and then we'll get like big ones at the gas stations and then just refill each of ours. And so we don't, I hate plastic water bottles in general, but if I can cut down on it, that's what I do. So I, my thing's a water bottle also because first off, I'm just a thirsty person. Yeah. Well, you know, I drag a water bottle everywhere with me. Um, but also like I drank a lot of water at in the middle of the night too. And like having like an open style cup or anything like that. If we sit in the Airbnb is not going to work for that. So having something that I can have in the bedroom, that's not going to spill because I'm clumsy. Yeah, I think that's, I mean, that's kind of a family one, but for me, personally. I don't know. item, anything. The only other thing I'm thinking of is usually when we travel I switch out my purse to my like hip bag one or like crossbody one instead just because it travels better like it's lighter. I don't know. That's definitely what I do and I can like tuck it down in the pocket of the door better than my regular purse. Yeah, I always usually trade out for like a full zip style purse when we travel so that way if it gets like tossed around nothing's gonna spill out or anything, you know nice too. Cause I, yeah, yeah. That's part of the cross body one. Cause I can shove them to the seat and the door like wherever and it's small and it just like compact. Yeah. one of mine's my Kindle, which obviously my Kindle is also on my phone. So if I ever don't bring my physical Kindle, have it on my phone too. so book, I'm going to put it as a book. If I don't have a book downloaded on my phone and I have to like go find one on our trip, I'm going to be so fricking annoyed. I have like 20 books on my, Kindle right now in preparation for this trip. yeah. Only when Cody's driving. well don't drive like Cody, so. I'm sure I'll be fine in your car. Because I've done like our content and like emails and stuff in the car when you've been driving. I'm like, I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm good for a while, but it'll get like, cause when we travel, I always find things to look up, Google, constantly Googling stuff when we travel and I can only do it so much. And then I'm like, okay, I gotta take a break. Yeah. I think that I get them. If the issue with that, if Cody's not driving is if like, I'm starting to get tired because then you kind of naturally start kind of sway a little, you and then I'm like, I gotta be done. But yeah, you'll be seeing me reading in the car on the way to Waco unless there's interesting conversations going on. Well, I'm sure we all like to talk a lot. Okay, I'm going to pull up. I had chat give us a list of unpopular questions. So they're kind of like hot seat questions though. So let's try not to get derailed. We probably will, but side stories. But on the top of the books before we fully switch, if you ever have recommendations to our audience of books, send them our way. One, because I'm trying to get Leisha interested. I know, right? You can read so much stuff. I'm trying to get Leisha interested in starting a book club maybe would be fun, like a virtual one. It doesn't have to be in person even. totally we could do that. I used to read. just don't anymore. we're picking up new hobbies. This is my existing hobby. So you just need to get on board. Yeah. See, I get you into reading. You gave me the podcast. so if you guys ever have good recommendations for us, let us know. I read a lot of different genres. So I wouldn't say except self-help stuff. don't usually read. that's the only books I own are stuff like that. But ask me if I've read them. right, right. My thing is, like, if I read to get out of what I'm in the middle of, and so reading a self-help book is more, is not helpful in that aspect. Yeah. like when I listen to podcast stuff, I have like businessy ones and then I have my more personal ones or like health ones. And sometimes like, depending on what season I'm in, I cannot listen to some of them. Like I have to disconnect and find one that's different than whatever I'm struggling with at the time, I guess. Or like more anxious about whatever it is or whatever the situation, but. So that's the thing for me is like reading as an outlet and then like feeding into it would just be not helpful. Okay. Let's hear it. is cereal soup. Why are you laughing? my god, that was not what I expected to come out of your mouth. I have more to sweet. No! Why? Well, it's hard for wine. It's hard. The soup? mean the soup. Yeah, have you ever ate a soup that you had to like crunch up? I guess not. always soft, even a cold soup. Okay, you guys will have to let us know. Yeah, I mean, I mean people do have cold soup. I would never, I don't think I could do a cold soup. Jameson let his cereal get mushy this morning, so. Well, I guess if you let it get mushy then we can call it soup. I just, no, I don't think so either. Soup, think is a hot thing. But then, like I said, some soups are cold, but I don't like cold soup. I, I don't know. Does pineapple belong on pizza? I don't mind pineapple on pizza either. depends on who makes it though to like there's some places that I've gotten pineapple pizza from and I'm like look no is hot dog a sandwich? Is a hot dog a sandwich? No, I mean I could see my brains like yes, and I'm like, but no right. Technically, yes. I mean, I guess I think you could call a hot dog a sandwich. I'd be okay with that. That's fine. So if you see hot dogs under the sandwich menu, just know that they're right. Yeah, pretty much. Is ketchup on eggs acceptable or absolutely not? It's acceptable. I pretty much only will eat eggs with ketchup or salsa. Yeah, or like hot sauce or something. Or scrambled eggs for me. That's not like on a- Yeah, yeah. Okay, those were kind of like the food ones. You're still laughing about this. no, here's another one. Would you rather eat... it's a would you rather. Would you rather eat cold leftovers or reheat them? I could never do cold leftovers. Yeah. But anything else, if it's supposed to be warm, it's gotta be reheated. there's another food one. I missed some. Which is better, crunchy or smooth peanut butter? Smooth. can't with crunchy. I can't. That's just not, no. We have people in the family that like crunchy though. And doesn't it. does too because Jesse does but I don't buy it and I don't make it that way. So he never gets it. I don't know. have an uncle who likes crunchy, but pretty much the rest of my family like smooth. okay, let's see. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them? I typically do, but I did buy this sweatshirt today and I put it on because I was so excited and I have not washed it. But I'm going to wash it after I wear it. there's very few things that I will wear without washing. and usually the only time it happens is if a, I bought it because I'm freezing cold. And so I bought a jacket to wear in that moment or B I'm overly excited. Like you want. Okay. But I had, have a reason for it. Do you have a reason for why you wash? There's a lot of toxins. really bad. they put a lot of chemicals in it to like deter rats and stuff from eating it and to like hold the color and all that. that was gross. That's why I also do and I really try to make sure I do the kids' especially. Yeah, I always make sure I do the kids as well, especially when they're littler, like the twins and stuff, because they're gonna be more reactive to stuff. Okay. Is it normal to brush your teeth in the shower? Depending, yeah, I do sometimes. I literally don't care. Jesse brushes, he keeps his toothbrush in the shower. And I think Delilah does too. I don't keep mine in the shower because that kind of grosses me out a little bit just because I'm thinking of like, it's just wet, just growing bacteria. But I do brush my teeth in the shower sometimes. Like if I'm running quickly. Open. We sleep with our door open too. The kids is both have their doors closed though. Yeah, for fire. safety. I keep Logan's open and she, I don't think she has a preference, but I keep it open because I want to be able to hear her. And she, since she's so far down the hallway and if her door was closed, I a hundred percent want to hear her. And then ours, so I can hear her. And also so the dogs can come in and out. But it has to be like partially shut, you know? ours is always just open all the way. Really? It freaks me out when it's all the way. I don't know why. It feels like somebody's staring at me. Hmm. All right, one last one. I'm pulling from this other batch. Would you rather have a rewind button or a pause button for life? Boom. that's a hard one. Now that I just read it and processing what I just said. Right? Because rewind, you could relive a moment over and over and over again if you wanted to. Yeah. but can you interfere like, or are you just rewatching it? I know, just says. Would you have a rewind button or a pause button? like click like with Adam Sandler, you know? Or just like a watching the moment again or pausing a moment in time. I don't think I would pause. think the only reason I don't, I don't, wouldn't pause. So I guess I would be picking rewind. Why weren't you pause? I've always been the type of person who is looking forward to the next thing. So even when my kids were babies, it was like, wait till they're rolling over, sitting up, crawling, talking, know, walking, all these things. Well, would you choose fast forward then if that was an option? 100%. Totally would. But like what if it was like click issues I don't know. What do you pick? I guess rewind because I would never know when I would want to pause. You know what mean? Like I would have to live it to be like, really want to go back to that moment, you know? All right, so rewind. All right. We did have some more topics, but I think that this is probably going to be it for today. Unless there's anything else you want to cover. No, I can't think of anything. This was a random episode for us. So we hope you guys enjoyed it listening to us blabber on. I think one of our upcoming ones will be like a recap of Waco. Yeah. That would be a fun one. be a fun one and we can kind of cover a lot and answer a lot of questions probably. But if you guys have any thoughts on some things that we shared or our feelings on some of those would you rather questions and such, let us know. Car wrecks, let us know. Book wrecks, let us know. Send us a DM on Instagram. We'd love to have conversations about any of those things. Yeah, or you can text us even directly within your guys's podcast listening app. You should see at the top of our little description blurb, text us and then you can send us message. All right, bye.
