Leesha (00:02.236) We ghosted y'all. Alex (00:03.818) We did, but welcome back! Leesha (00:06.246) We are back. We are relaunching into season number two that was unexpected. We didn't know we were going to do a season two, but that is what the heart needed. Alex (00:10.83) two? It was a bit... We didn't know we were gonna do season two, but that might have been the part needed. Right. Well, what she means, like, we didn't know we were gonna do season two is we didn't know there was gonna be an end to season one. We also didn't know... Like, we just didn't know anything. Leesha (00:26.736) Nope. Nope. think we're going to talk a little bit more about that today. But if you did notice and sent us a message, thank you for doing that. Alex (00:31.542) If you did Alex (00:35.347) Yeah, I mean, it's always good to hear that we were missed. Leesha (00:38.184) Yep, definitely. We have spent the last week or so getting ready for season two, so we're going to talk about that today also. But where did we go? I always do this. I really love the podcast. Alex (00:48.304) You're gonna cry! my gosh! Alex (00:54.72) Yeah. So do I, but I do think this break was good for us. So we'll talk about why in a little bit. But first, like Leesha said, we spent the last week mapping things out. have, what is it, like nine episodes we have planned to do. Leesha (01:08.648) I don't know, we got my business sticky notes out and did a whole like mapping and so it was fun. So let me count, have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 11 episodes that we are going to be basically marking as season two and that we will end right before Christmas break. So we're really excited. We have guests planned and we have some really good topics. Alex (01:16.718) 11 episodes. Alex (01:27.052) in December sometime. Alex (01:34.134) Yeah, I think these topics are fantastic. There's some that I'm like extra excited about and I just can't wait to record them. So we're really excited and we're hoping that this like mapping and organization will kind of make it a little easier on us. Leesha (01:38.098) Yeah. Yeah. Leesha (01:47.088) Yeah, but I mean this is all a hobby and so we try to fit this in with work and life and motherhood and you know things that come up so it sometimes gets hard. Alex (01:52.93) life. Yeah, I mean, we wish we could be full-time podcasters. Yeah. That would be our life. Leesha (02:00.967) And content creators and just go around and do all the things. Yeah, totally No, so we can talk a little bit more about Maybe if I can hold it together You got me today I just Yeah, I just the I think what's getting me most is the end of the school year really sucked for us so that Alex (02:12.199) my god, you're getting so emotional Yeah Leesha (02:29.776) When I have to talk about it, then I get teary-eyed. Clearly. Alex (02:30.797) it's very nice. Clearly. Leesha (02:37.351) Yeah, I know we had talked about it a little bit in past episodes. Alex (02:40.025) Yeah. Yeah. it was just kind of we all our kids were at the same school and things kind of just started falling apart there. And I was just a big like it started off kind of rough at the beginning of the year. We were like, maybe they'll sort it out mid year. But it just felt like it only kept getting worse. And by the end of the year, I didn't even send my my youngest for half of the last two weeks. Yeah. Leesha (02:46.937) It really did. Leesha (03:00.697) the last couple weeks, yeah. And the last probably three months for my oldest was just rough. It just was rough and it was every week there was something going on and it just got really hard. It just got really hard. But you know, with the end of school also you have field day and you have graduation and you have all these different things. And so that just kind of ate up a lot of our time. Alex (03:09.075) Yeah, yeah, she went through it. Alex (03:18.797) in your Alex (03:22.541) all these things spirit days and Alex (03:29.397) Yeah, and also, know, obviously Alicia runs a business and everything too. And so that was getting busier because everybody was transitioning and. Leesha (03:34.8) Yeah. Yeah, actually, I'm going to talk a little bit more about that because I know we touch a little bit on my business as we go along, but what made it hard for me. So if I haven't gone in depth on this before, I own a virtual assistant online business management agency. So we have a team of eight team members right now, seven. I think I'm hiring my eighth right now. Alex (03:42.121) But what we never did. So if. Alex (03:56.18) eight team members right now and seven are currently out. Leesha (04:00.592) And we support anywhere from 10, or like eight to 10 clients. And Alex is one of my team members. So what we do is help other women and moms in business run their businesses. And so when we are doing this podcast stuff with the social media and with the, you know, we'd use a lot of Google files and editing and content creation. Alex (04:06.029) So. It's very similar to what we do. Leesha (04:24.272) very similar to what I do every day or what I'm managing the team doing every day. And so it just with the school stress and then, you know, trying to implement this and keep this up and my business and all my client work and Alex's clients work and the team's client work. And it's just like, it just all like came to a head. And I was like, Alex, I cannot do this anymore. We've, you know, at minimum have to take a break. that's what happened. Alex (04:28.397) So it just with... Alex (04:45.655) Mm-hmm. Right. it was good timing because I told you also, was like, well, this worked out because I was kind of getting into a point where I was like, something needs to come off my plate. And I wasn't sure what, because obviously we both really enjoy the podcast and like our content creation stuff. But also like they were like, it wasn't a glass ball, basically. If you've never heard that term, it's like, you you pick what's your glass ball and what's plastic. Leesha (04:58.8) Yeah. Leesha (05:08.72) Yeah, yeah, it just Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And that one, just ended up being too much. Something had to go. And so it was our hobby. Alex (05:22.857) It was our hobby, but we came back and just a little break, taking care of stuff. We have. Leesha (05:26.024) We've been capturing content though still and a lot of things that we've done have sparked great episodes that we're gonna, you know, be talking about throughout the season. So we are really excited. Alex (05:36.109) So yeah, so that's kind of why we took the break. Yeah, so. Leesha (05:42.6) Yeah. And I should be done like crying now. I intent the end of the school year, the end of the school year just sucked so bad. Our kids, mean, touching back on that a little bit, our kids are no longer going to be going to that school, which I know that we've talked about before. They're, they're going back to the public schools. Um, and they all seem excited, which I was a little nervous about recently. Alex (05:46.123) Well, yeah, she looks, her eyes look drier. Alex (05:56.212) Mm-hmm. Alex (06:03.829) Logan has been excited until this week basically and now she's like, I miss my teacher and my friends. I don't remember what they look like. And she like made me pull out all her like kindergarten graduation stuff for her to look through. I think she's just getting like, like she's finally starting to get nervous for the new school. But especially cause I was talking about how like we could walk to school probably now and everything, but. Leesha (06:11.176) she's so funny. Leesha (06:20.464) Yeah. Leesha (06:27.058) Yeah, well, we're going to talk more about back to school stuff because that's coming up. I feel like summer is coming to an end pretty quick, but let's talk about what we did this summer. Yeah, we haven't really been showing that much on social either. Everything kind of went. Alex (06:35.053) Yeah, where we've been during our break. Alex (06:45.053) No. Yeah, we pulled back a lot on social. And you know, Alicia was out of town actually quite a bit this summer. Leesha (06:52.336) I have been, I feel like I haven't been home really until this month. Alex (06:56.065) Yeah, like all of June, I feel like you were gone basically. Yeah, it was like back to back to back stuff. Leesha (06:58.364) Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. So let's, let's walk through it. We ended school at the end of May. Our kids got out a little bit before the public schools. They got out like a week. And I promptly went on my couple's vacation with my husband to Boston and Portland, Maine, which was so much fun. We had a blast. It was so much fun. We, we had a really good time. I... Alex (07:09.813) Yeah, it was like a week prior, I think. Alex (07:18.541) Yeah, she needed it. She had my glowing almost. Leesha (07:28.24) If anyone's been there, you probably understand, but like it's just different. Okay, so I did really enjoy Portland, Maine. Boston was too city for me. I don't like the city. And Portland, Maine and that area was way more calm, but we got to like, you know, go on different tours and learn about the history. And then we kind of... Leesha (07:49.608) We kind of made it our goal to go and try lobster rolls because that's like the specialty up there. And so by the end of it, we had tried like seven different lobster rolls. And unfortunately, were so good. Unfortunately, the last one we tried was in Boston. It was the worst. I just, just all around Boston left a bad taste in my mouth. Alex (07:58.99) Yeah. Alex (08:03.405) I am so jealous. love lobster rolls. Leesha (08:14.12) but we had so much fun. I think the vacation was a little bit long. I think we had a day too long in both places because we split our time. but we, we had, we had a really good time. And then, during, this is another reason my things got chaotic was after we got back. What did we do after that? Where'd we go? Alex (08:14.505) that's important. Alex (08:26.615) during this. Alex (08:33.729) You went on another trip. I don't know. You guys did, okay, so you went to Boston, you did your trip to Dallas, and then Jesse also had a trip at the same time. Leesha (08:44.186) Okay, so then my business trip and then kind of last minute my husband had to go travel for work and then poor Jameson was in limbo and Alex had to watch Jameson for a night because I wasn't going to be home yet and my husband had to leave. and then yeah, yeah, he did. He definitely did. And then what was crazy was we had, I had my business trip planned. Alex (08:53.779) Yeah It was like a weird overlap time. He had fun though guys. Don't worry. Leesha (09:10.396) And then it was like a few days in between and then we were going to Port A to the beach. And then my husband had to go on his trip, which would have been those few days in between. So then we kind of like had to prepare before I left for Boston and we were packing for like three different trips that week before. And it was like, I had to be so, I am pretty organized, but I had to be like overly organized. Alex (09:13.365) Yeah. Alex (09:25.133) Mm-hmm. Alex (09:30.125) Even more so and I'm sure you guys remember that Lisa and I have a ton of Packing tips and like travel tips and road trip tips She definitely was busting out like all of those tools and then some Leesha (09:38.172) packing tips. Leesha (09:43.91) my gosh. Yeah, it was like madness around here. we had to pack before and then my husband had to pack for the beach because I wanted, I was gonna, me and the kids were gonna have to pack the car. So I was like, you have to gather up all the stuff for me to just put in my car. don't, ready, I don't want to have to go searching around the house for anything. And so he did that. And then when I got home, redid laundry, repacked the kids and me for that trip, packed everything up and then. Alex (09:59.98) You like have it in the garage ready. Alex (10:05.037) Thank you. Leesha (10:12.22) When he flew home, he didn't fly into San Antonio, he flew into Corpus. So then we picked him up in Corpus and went to Porte. So it was madness. Alex (10:15.533) Mm-hmm. Yep. Which we did that trip together, kinda. You guys did it a little longer and we just went for the night, but it was still fun. Leesha (10:24.004) Yeah, yeah, we but we had so much fun my Delilah my oldest does not like that she typically does not like the beach, but She did and I was amazed What did you just say? Yeah? I know what so a couple of the cool things that we Had well you guys got to go experience the new park at poor day at the Roberts point park Alex (10:32.013) Yeah, but she had so much fun she asked to go back. I was, I heard that and I was like, what? Just gonna check her for a fever for a second. Alex (10:49.201) it was so cool. I actually have a ton of content for it too. I'll have to share it. Leesha (10:53.19) Yeah, I was kind of bummed. So we stayed in a house with a couple other families for three nights and then yeah, yeah. And so the way plans worked out, we didn't get time to go off and like do as much stuff on our own as we thought. So we didn't make it to the park, which was high on my list. No, it was high on my list that I didn't get to. So I was like, it's fine. We'll go again. Alex (11:00.097) that they know. Alex (11:08.845) you didn't? I thought that you guys were gonna do that. It's a bummer, Jamison would have totally loved that little rocket ship slide thing. It was so tall. The girls, like my youngest girls, the twins were trying to go up it, but they were wearing dresses and they made me so nervous. I thought they were gonna like come tumbling down all those stairs. Leesha (11:19.193) Yeah. Leesha (11:26.064) Yeah. gosh. Those little climbers. We were also going to go, because we haven't been, to the research and science center out there. No, we didn't go. And so, I mean, it just gives us something to do when we go next time. So it was really fun. But when we were at the beach, Jesse ordered this cool beach toy that Alex (11:36.709) yeah, did you guys end up going? You didn't? I mean, next time. Yeah. Leesha (11:49.862) funnels the sand with the water and it makes a little like piles of sand. It's kind of like slimes. It's not like slime, but like it. I don't even know how to describe it. Alex (11:51.837) yeah. It's just like, it's like a building tool. Like a lot of people do it with the sandcastles where they'll like cup water and then put sand in it and then slow pour it out their hands to build the little mountain stacks. Yeah. Leesha (12:02.952) Yeah, and it stacks. Yeah, so that was something really cool new that we had had at the beach We did and slime and that was the one thing that had Delilah's Interest at going back to the beach at all and so we did that and we have some hilarious video of it me using it several different ways But one of them was the sand all over the twins's face and so I was dabbing all the sand off of their face and I mean this sand slime was so fun and it was like Alex (12:11.297) We also did sli- we did do slime. Yeah. Alex (12:22.455) Yeah. Alex (12:28.934) Yeah. Leesha (12:32.752) A multi-tool. Alex (12:33.321) Yeah, and you know, obviously it was pretty inexpensive to just glue and activator. Leesha (12:36.708) yeah, I ended up buying the Amazon slime activator and it was a huge jug. 32 ounces probably. Yeah, and then I had the giant Elmer's glue bottle, just Raylor School glue. So I don't know, like $15 for both of those and that's all you need. Alex (12:40.973) Yeah, that thing was big it was like those yeah like the giant Elmer glue bottles, yeah Alex (12:55.565) Yeah, and there's still time left, so. Leesha (12:58.854) Actually, we brought it home in a bag. I don't know if it's still good, but it's in the baggie in the closet. The slime, yeah, the sand slime. So yeah, we had a ton of fun. Unfortunately, my family, all of us got ridiculously burnt the first day. So our second day at the beach wasn't as enjoyable. Alex (13:02.637) the slime? Alex (13:10.326) It was really fun. Alex (13:17.823) No, yeah, you guys, you guys all got burned so bad. My family somehow did not. Like we, okay. So I definitely got influenced because I was like, there's no way this thing works. Like I just dreaded and believe it. I've been seeing it everywhere, but then a certain mom influencer I follow has been sharing about it a lot this summer. And I remember her sharing about it last summer too. And it's like, you know what? Leesha (13:22.515) Yeah. I know. Wait, you gotta tell them about your cool thing that you had. Oh. Because you have the cool thing too. And I need to get one. Leesha (13:36.112) No. Alex (13:47.246) Everything she shares is literally gold, I swear. So I'm like, I'm gonna get it, it's on sale. It's that, what are they called? Sunscreen buddy? Is that what they're called? So they're the sunscreen buddies and you put the sunscreen inside of them and it's like a sponge with a roller ball. So like, you know, when you have like the tube of sunscreen, you just put it in there and you just roll it on and it spreads it for you and it's applicates it. It works so good. Leesha (13:55.526) Yeah, I think so. Leesha (14:07.364) It worked so good. I was so burnt the day that I was like, okay, let me use your sunscreen because I need to like triple coverage and I was like when she told me she had it I was like, okay cool, but then I used it and I was like, okay. I need to get one of these Alex (14:22.175) It's really cool. I couldn't believe it worked. I really thought that the rolling part would not work that well. Yeah, so that was a cool little tool. Leesha (14:30.024) Yeah, definitely. That was. And then we got home and then we got into July and I am addicted to traveling right now and so I was like... No, we weren't even home yet. What's the next trip? So I was like, okay, we have to, we have to, we have all of July. What are we gonna do in July if we don't go on a trip? Alex (14:43.221) We literally weren't even home yet. And we're like, you guys wanna do another trip? Leesha (14:56.314) And so I had to plan something else. I asked Cody and Alex once and Cody was like, no, we're not going to do that. And I was like, okay. And then I was like, waited a few days. I waited a couple of days. Alex (15:05.048) And then like two days later, I still had the thread on my phone. I was like, didn't she just text us about this? Leesha (15:11.996) Yeah, I even used the same thread. And I was like, okay, well, this is what we're gonna do. Do you wanna come? And then I could feel my brother having interest. And I was like, okay, well, I wanted to go back to the beach or we were gonna go to Kalahari or we were gonna drive to Arizona like we do, or we could do a river trip. There was four things we could do and they all for us cost about the same. And so was like, okay, well, yeah, I'd have to do some real digging on deals for that one to work. Alex (15:28.365) Mm-hmm. There is a whole list. except Hillary. Yeah. Leesha (15:42.236) so he was like, why don't I go to the beach, but I would do a river trip. And I was like, okay. And so then I started looking at the river trips and so I talked them into going. So we were really excited. Yeah. And they were going to go the weekend before that. So. Yeah. Alex (15:48.801) And so the next one, we're going Yeah, I think it helps that he has a friend that was like, yeah, it's worth going. Yeah. Yeah, and he said we could borrow their kayaks and everything. So then Cody was like, all right, well, this will be fun. Leesha (16:04.87) Yeah, so that'll be our last trip of the summer. We will be getting back from that trip right before this episode will air. So we don't really know how that's gonna go yet, but. Alex (16:13.825) But we can share a little bit about it, like in an intro for one of our future ones, maybe. Or content, yeah. Leesha (16:18.938) Yeah, or of course follow us on Instagram. Yeah. But yeah, we're super excited for that one. So that's gonna kind of round out our trips for the summer. Alex (16:27.809) Yeah, Leisha did most of the trips. I went to the beach and did I do a different trip? No, I pretty much stayed in San Antonio. We've been super busy because my daughter is super busy and the busier I keep her, the better she behaves, which literally makes no sense. I've been joking that she's like a working dog all summer because like the more I do with her or the more jobs I give her, the more like just chill she is. So we've just been really busy. We've been doing the zoo and we've been doing water parks and we've been doing parks and hikes and walks and bike rides and. Leesha (16:36.263) it is. Leesha (16:55.76) Yeah. Alex (16:57.835) Like literally everything I think of. She's in cheer. We've been doing some school stuff. Speaking of school stuff though, I did start her a Duo Lingo ABCs, cause obviously she just finished kindergarten. And it like reinforces all the like letter learning and then like it goes up in stages. And so like it has books that she reads in there and everything. It was really cool. So if you have like a kindergarten, first grade age kid, they probably love it. She asked me every single night to play it. Leesha (16:58.12) Literally. Mm. Alex (17:27.393) I'm not prompting her. She's doing it. Leesha (17:27.528) That's really cool. That's really cool. So let's talk about that, like summer routines. So my kids, because I do work and I have Tuesday and Thursdays, which you have meetings on every other Thursday with me. So Tuesdays and Thursdays are my meeting days for work. And so Monday, Wednesday, Friday, I typically am more flexible in being able to take the kids out and do things. And so... Alex (17:37.036) using. Mm-hmm. Leesha (17:51.908) On all the days, they do have a rough outline of like a routine that they need to do, which is like get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, go outside, do your chores, morning chores, lunch. It's very guided. There's free time and then like activity time, which is independent, like not TV time. They need to find something to do. No, so that has been one thing that we've worked with. Alex (17:57.614) See you then with Logan. 4, 4, 1, is very, breathe it. Alex (18:08.781) Do you do this list through your skylight? Leesha (18:21.32) Are the therapists that we see and she said like physical being able to like put a sticker on it or mark it off works better so Mm-hmm something about the connection of like that that was like better and so she Helped us fine-tune our routine this this year because last year we did this too But this year it was like we kind of moved some stuff around because obviously it's really hot here in the afternoon. So like Alex (18:30.859) than marking it off digitally. Alex (18:36.535) Yeah. Alex (18:41.559) this year. Leesha (18:50.098) comfortably for them outside times best at like before 11, you know before it's too hot and so that got moved and then their school they do school time also, but we use Jameson likes one called ABC YA He loves that one. It's all like games, but they have I Excel and con that they're supposed to get on and do and there's like summer Like sprints that they can do so every day it'll make them run through like math reading Alex (18:54.155) Right. Alex (19:06.573) Come on, I don't think I've heard of that one. Mm. Alex (19:18.685) yeah. I got Logan like between kinder and first grade workbook off of Amazon was like literally $8 and it like so re reinforces kindergarten stuff, like also starts learning some of the first grade fundamental things. We haven't actually done it. I'm going to be having her do it like now though, which is why I started the Duolingo want ABC a couple of weeks ago. And I was like, okay, she's really enjoying this. I should start bringing in the workbook now because before I thought it was too early. Leesha (19:19.077) science, whatever. Leesha (19:30.384) Yeah. Yeah. Alex (19:47.531) Like she just needed that break. Yeah. Leesha (19:48.112) Yeah, a break a little bit of a break. Yeah, and then if you do it digitally it feels more like a game I feel like for them Alex (19:53.102) Yeah, which is how she's definitely taken that. Leesha (19:56.73) Yeah. So yeah, that's kind of what our routine looks like, but it's super flexible. You guys know that like we don't schedule things to like exactly to the hour. Yeah, it's there's this routine and it's by the hour they can switch to the next thing, but it's if they flip something they would split whatever. routines. Well, so like when there says like morning chores, they're supposed to go to the skylight to see what their routine and chores are there. Alex (20:04.341) We're not very rigid, yeah. Alex (20:13.107) It is what it is, yeah. We use the skylight for Logan's routines. Yeah. Leesha (20:25.552) And if they mark them off, they get the rewards and then they can claim their rewards in there. they, I love the skylight, but I think it works much better during the school year than it has for the summer. Yeah, definitely. Alex (20:34.849) Yeah. Well, the school year has more structure. Yeah, for Logan, she's been checking it off, but I have to remind her, she's still obviously, she's only six. So like right now, like her morning routine is very basic. Same with her night routine. And then every so often she'll have like a weekly thing pop up. Like her dance class is one that she gets to check off too. I don't have the reward set up yet because I have been being a cheapskate basically. Not gotten a membership yet. Not yet. Leesha (20:44.424) Mm-hmm. Leesha (20:48.709) Mm-hmm. Leesha (20:54.032) Yeah. Leesha (21:01.21) You didn't pay for like the member of the premium? my gosh, you need to do that. Alex (21:05.501) I know, I figure for the new school year I probably will because I'll be wanting it more. Leesha (21:09.937) And then like even the their the AI planner like meal planner sidekick. It's so cool Alex (21:15.305) Yeah, so that's what I want it for the most, that and the rewards, because then I can stop having to keep track in my head Logan's money. Leesha (21:22.248) my gosh, okay, it's literally like 35 for the year, so you're storing all that in your head. feel like that's worth Alex (21:29.357) It's not 35 for the year, it's 75 for the year. No, I didn't. It's like 70. I double checked because the frame is 35. So like my mom has the frame that we sent her for Christmas and we send photos to her. But if she wants the subscription where she can have like videos and other stuff, it's 35 or something like that for a year. And then the skylight was like 70, 75 or 72 or something like that. Leesha (21:33.192) What? You didn't get a discount on yours? I'm almost 100 % sure it's like $35. Unless they upped it. Leesha (21:47.107) But I'm looking at. Yeah. Alex (21:59.342) I even like triple checked it because Cody said 35, you said 35. I was like, you all are crazy. Anyways, the Skylight, we obviously love it. The subscription, even at 75 a year though, it's still really affordable. Cause it's for 12 months, but I just have been being a cheapskate. Because I always do that when it's like something that's mine, you know? I have a harder time like biting the bullet on it, but. Leesha (22:03.344) It's because I told him not. Leesha (22:08.2) I Know I'm literally I'm looking this up right now. totally Leesha (22:26.79) Yeah. Alex (22:27.617) I mean, it benefits the whole family, so I really should just do it. Leesha (22:31.496) I'm hooked on this. I'm looking at what I paid right now. 30. Okay, so I got a discount for the first year to $39. So you should have also on the box, in the papers. Well then you're not getting the discount. It's half off. They discounted it half. So we are both right then. Alex (22:32.927) She's gotta confirm for us guys. For the frame. Alex (22:41.901) So how, where did you get a discount from? I don't think my box, well I threw my box away now. But there was no discount in there. Do you think if I message them? Okay, well the full price is 70, 79. So it's even more than I said. Leesha (22:59.17) is $79. Yeah, and 39. It's just a couple dollars. Their customer service is really great. I bet if you email them and tell them that your sister-in-law got a half-off discount for her first year, that they will do it. Alex (23:13.357) I'll be like, just got this. I'm going to tell it. I'm going to do it. And then I'll let you guys know if they give me the discount so you can know. Leesha (23:15.816) You should you need their customer service really good Okay, but so Monday Wednesday Fridays We typically I try to schedule and something outside of the house because I don't want my kids to have to stay cooped up I Know we started out and Alex was like I have no plans this week, and we did something every day this this summer Honestly has been so hard for me work wise I have been like treading water and so and if any of my clients happen to be listening Alex (23:28.974) my gosh, this week we have been so busy together. Alex (23:37.677) That was so funny. Leesha (23:45.82) which any of the ones that do probably already know this, but like I feel like I'm like barely breathing above water trying to get all of my work done, but It's kind of what's really great about this though because I can work in early morning I can work in the evening and I can work on the weekend I don't have a set schedule I just have to get these things done and it just is what it is. So Monday Wednesday Friday So I message on the weekend ahead of time. I was like, let's do the zoo on Wednesday So we did the zoo on Wednesday. Yes Alex (23:49.204) Yeah, there's just been a lot this summer, feels like. Alex (23:59.052) and Alex (24:03.603) Yeah. Wednesday. We did do the Zoo Wednesday. Leesha (24:16.22) But on Monday, Jameson, he wanted to get Orbeez, which I will tell you, Orbeez are not as popular as they used to be, and Amazon hardly carries any kid Orbeez. Alex (24:25.293) Okay, part of that I think is because of the safety issues that have been coming up the last several years. Leesha (24:31.72) Really? Well, there was like only like event planning ones for like to fill vases. That was like the there was like one other option. Alex (24:36.735) Yeah. So I think they have not been marketing them for kids now because so many kids were swallowing them and having to like go get surgery and stuff. Yeah. And the animals. Leesha (24:44.296) Yeah, and the animals and dogs. So he got Orbeez and he wanted to fill one of the little pools. Like he wanted to fill a pool. He wanted to fill like the whole blow up pool. And I was like, that's a lot. So we got the Orbeez. We went and got a hard side pool for him. And then he was like, Logan and the girls need to come over. So I'm like, okay, Monday, Alex, what are you doing? You need to come over. Jameson has these Orbeez and he wants to share with the girls. Alex (24:53.067) Right. And the kids have been having tons of fun. Alex (25:08.397) So, don't worry. Leesha (25:10.128) So we filled them up early that morning and then we had an appointment and then they came over and my gosh, they'd had so much fun. Alex (25:15.958) My gosh first off Logan and James when they're together if you if we haven't said this before They like temporarily lose their sanity They'll like wind down eventually but like that first like hour usually they're like just So wild and like you can't rein it in you just have to let it burn out Leesha (25:24.134) They literally do. I don't even know. Chaos. High level craziness. No, no, I know. I kept having to go out there and I was like, well, I started off, was like, hey, keep, cause we had the hard side little pool with the Orbeez and then we had the big pool with the water. And I was like, we want to keep all the Orbeez in the small pool cause Jameson wants to play with them all week. So let's try to keep them all in there. Alex (25:44.941) Yeah. Alex (25:50.465) Mm-hmm. Leesha (25:53.648) and then they were just literally like scooping them up and putting them in the big pool. And I'm like, no, you guys. Alex (25:58.848) And then they but then they transitioned to scooping up and putting them in their swimsuits Leesha (26:02.568) Then yeah, then they filled their swimsuits with them and then they'd all this stuff and then it was just like it was just chaos and so luck I mean there was enough Orbeez in there. They were all they're all over my yard right now But so then every day Jameson he played with those and then we had you guys over on Thursday, I think to play with it again and they had set too long and they started to get like they were like Yeah, there wasn't you they were Alex (26:13.505) Yeah. This is water in the yard. Alex (26:18.871) to do it again, basically. Alex (26:25.495) They were like, mush. Leesha (26:31.56) going mushy really like if you squeezed them they were just like not holding their structure so they ended up playing with them mushed them around and then dumped them out all over yeah it was in the pool in the water and then in the grass and all over the concrete when I went out there I almost fell on my butt because it was slippery and I was trying to like sweep it off of the concrete Alex (26:35.797) Yeah. Alex (26:41.271) first to the pool. Alex (26:50.207) It's slippery. They had a ton of fun. We recommend if your kids are old enough to understand not to put them in their mouth or if you don't have animals that will do that. Leesha (26:58.12) Not to eat them. Yeah. Yeah, I did not. I did not let the dogs out because I really thought that my littler dog would probably eat them. So I didn't let them out. And the twins, we weren't sure at first, but then they were fine. And they're almost three. So two and a half, three is probably OK. Alex (27:06.455) would maybe eat them. Alex (27:10.603) Yeah, yeah. They're pretty good about not putting stuff in their mouth anymore too, so. Leesha (27:16.826) Yeah, but they had fun. We just got one of those like, I don't know, 10 foot rectangle blow up pools. And so they bashed and splashed and thrashed around in there. One of the twins got hurt both days, I think. And then they had some floaties in there and the slide. They were able to put the little kitty slide to go in there. And I think both days were doing like all out WrestleMania in the water. Alex (27:22.506) Mm-hmm. Alex (27:27.216) my god, that had so much fun. Yes. Alex (27:38.347) Mm-hmm. Alex (27:42.518) Yeah. Yeah. Our kids love water play, like any kind of water play, water tables, water slides, pools, any of it. Yeah. We were crazy busy. And then like during all that rainy season, we, we, I literally just filled my yard up with mud and like was like, go have at it and let them play in the mud. Leesha (27:47.304) And they do. Leesha (27:55.474) Yeah. Leesha (28:01.478) Yeah. Wait, so, but you asked, you got a new thing. I think it's new for your backyard too. The thing that Jameson loved when he was at your, stayed at your house. That's really cool too. Alex (28:09.837) yeah, yeah. He has so much fun. He literally was playing that and he was like, I need to tell my mom I need this. He's like, I need this. Send her a picture of it. And he was just cracking me up because that's all he could say about it. It's I did for one of the Amazon Prime Day deals. So was in yesterday, I think. But it's just like that. It's like a ratchet strap, basically. And then it has like all these hanging like play things. So has like a ladder. Yeah, it's like a Ninja Warrior course. And it was Leesha (28:15.942) Yeah, he used to send her a picture. Leesha (28:22.15) Yeah, you actually just shared it in our stories last week, I think. Leesha (28:35.58) It's like the Ninja Warrior stuff, right? Yeah. Alex (28:40.269) I want to say when we bought it, was like $50 for the one we got. And it has like the rock climbing straps to put over your trees and stuff like that. And they're really cool. My kids definitely love it. But Jameson was like, he could not believe how cool that thing was. Leesha (28:43.408) and move. Leesha (28:53.628) Well, and unfortunately, we don't have the big trees like you do, because our house is newer built than yours. And so we just don't have anywhere we can put that. Alex (28:55.861) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Alex (29:01.771) You'd have to do like cement posts or something. Leesha (29:04.832) Right and we did that in our one of our old houses and we had a zipline and I don't know that we're good We would do that again, especially here because how do you dig that big of all like deep enough hole? It's crazy So that's really cool thing you had We did also go to some new places We have zoo memberships. So that makes it really nice for us to be able to just say hey We're going to the zoo today or next week or whatever anytime. We both have a limited carousel ride. So the kids get to Alex (29:10.629) You're gonna have to get like a drill. Yeah the big ground drills Alex (29:22.443) Mm-hmm. Alex (29:26.357) whenever. Alex (29:33.601) Mm-hmm. Leesha (29:33.618) do that and we usually pack a lunch and they eat there or on the car ride home. Alex (29:36.917) Yeah, I will say my favorite tool this summer has been that my snack box. Leesha (29:44.82) yes, I know there was moms looking at you when we were at the zoo this last week and they were just like trying I don't know if they were looking at us and eyeballing because we're not technically supposed to eat in the zoo and like bring food but They don't they never do but they were like looking over and I was like watching her like look at you opening it and I was like What's the vibe here? Yeah, either like that or like that's cool or why are they eating? Alex (29:53.697) but they never say anything. Alex (30:02.861) She's probably like, why is this mom so prepared? Maybe all the above. You really do. So H-E-B has these, funny enough, Cody actually broke it the other day and I was like so upset. And so he ordered me another one, but on Amazon and it's like way more on Amazon. But H-E-B has them and they're like $10, I think. And then Amazon has them and they're like 15 and Target came out with new round ones that have a spinner on the bottom. The same kind of concept, but round. Right. Cause it spins too. Leesha (30:12.828) I don't know, but it was just funny. I know, I need to get one of those. the snack boxes. Yeah. Well good. Leesha (30:37.121) that would be fun for like pool days. Right. Yeah. Alex (30:40.749) but they have like the little removable bins in them and they're like a clear plastic container. I have no idea what they're called. They're basically like a snackle box, but like not. I don't know. Leesha (30:52.58) I don't know. Yeah, so she brings that anywhere. Anywhere we go. The parks, anything. So we have the zoo membership. And then of course, parks. We love parks. We went to the splash pad and park at Pierce Hall. Totally that name escaped me for a second. And that was fun. The kids liked that. We didn't stay as long though. Castroville. Alex (30:55.977) It's yeah everything. Alex (31:05.293) Thank you all. Alex (31:10.893) Did we get any other parks? We went to our neighborhood parks, Casherville Regional Park. I've been to the Hendrick Arnold Nature Park. I just went to another one. don't remember what the name of it was though. Leesha (31:19.08) Mm-hmm. Leesha (31:24.304) No, we haven't done too many parks. It's been the weather's been weird. feel like since I have had time. Yeah Yeah, definitely but something new that we did is we wanted to go check out the San Antonio Aquarium Because we've been here over three years three years and had never went and so Yeah, yeah, that one's really cool, too Yeah, and all the way downtown Alex (31:26.061) It's been a really weird summer. This summer has been weird. Alex (31:37.697) Yes. Yeah. I have been to the Sea Life one, and so have you, right? Yeah. It is really cool. Expensive, though. Yeah. Leesha (31:51.866) So we ended up looking at the ticket prices and then got memberships for their two. So it is, it really was. Yeah, and theirs was if you bought more than two, was 10 % off because we couldn't figure out why I was getting a discount and Alex wasn't because the twins are free. So she just asked you can get away with two. And then you ended up adding my mom's on though. And so we got memberships for that. And then that comes with Alex (31:55.235) Because it was cheaper, it was a better deal. We swear by memberships. Alex (32:06.272) Yeah. And then you can get Yeah, to get the discount. Leesha (32:18.597) the unlimited play in their bounce house area and their ball pit, but that wasn't open. We. Alex (32:21.107) Mmm, and their ball pit and two free tickets Yeah Well, did you probably got to each and I got to each so like I had four total I think no, I must add six total Leesha (32:28.36) Two I don't I have a handful of those so I don't know it must have been two or three Yeah Okay, so I probably have Okay, yeah Okay, that makes sense because I have quite a few of like guest tickets It was cool I at first we were kind of unsure in the first part of it yeah, and then once we got into where they could touch the listing race Alex (32:45.581) It was really cool. Especially a first level. It's kind of like, Alex (32:56.781) Well, first I like that first area where like the octopus is and then like where all the sea anemones and everything is and so I was like, okay, that's kind of cool and octopus like really like Jameson was like following him Leesha (32:58.608) or the manatee, manta rays. Yeah. yeah, you could touch all everything there too. Leesha (33:10.812) yeah, he like, it was really, yeah, that was cool. So by the end of it, I mean, was, it was, and it was really cold in there too, which was a perk, but it wasn't really cold outside. Alex (33:17.421) What's funny is we actually have You guys are gonna see all this and this comes out I think I have content on this on the San Antonio aquarium coming out sometime in August Somewhere in there Leesha (33:22.832) user. Leesha (33:31.848) Summer in there. You'll see it. But if you have any questions about it as well as know we definitely will be fitting in probably another trip or two to the aquarium for the summer It was Alex brought a jacket and we didn't know we didn't I didn't think about it and I was freezing Alex (33:40.959) Yeah, it's really cold in there too, so it's nice for a hot day. I always, if anything's inside here in Texas, I bring a jacket because they just blast the AC. Wintertime, they blast the heat. And then you're like, I don't need a jacket. Yeah. And then, but in the summer, the AC is so cool. It's like going to Vegas. Like if any of you've ever been to Vegas, how they blast the AC. So, and then they keep their doors open. So then when you like walk by outside, it's just blasting AC. That's how it is here. Like we're the same. Leesha (33:51.272) Yeah. What is going on in here? Yeah. Yes. Yeah, it's blowing the cold air. Yeah, yeah, so that was somewhere new and then while I was on one of my vacations Alex and my mom Went out to shots ease I still haven't made it out there yet, but Alex (34:21.601) We did, which is one of our favorite coffee local shops. But they are back in their building after some super hard work to get back into it. So a little backstory, their building, they like finally bought it and like all this big deal stuff. But then like that next day, somebody crashed into their building and destroyed it. And then insurance wouldn't cover it. Leesha (34:32.241) Yeah. Leesha (34:44.072) Yeah, so they were getting ready for their one year and like the night before a drunk driver ran into their building. Yeah, and they had just like finalized the purchasing it. And then they were working, they were running out of a trailer and then they had drama with the trailer. then, yeah, and then they have basically, I think with just their family were building back up the building. Alex (34:48.727) Yeah, they're one year and they had just bought the building. Alex (35:02.625) Like attaining Alex (35:11.977) Mm-hmm. It's really cute. Yeah, it took a long time. Leesha (35:13.192) And it finally got opened and it took way longer than she thought it was going to take way longer than she thought So yes shots eases out in Lacoste and it's worth the drive It's worth it Alex (35:23.701) It's worth a drive. Especially if you want something that's like, walk into a coffee shop and it feels like people know you, like that small town coffee shop vibe. So cute. Everybody who works there is so sweet. And literally you can't go there without other people being like, hey, what's up? Blah, blah. Yeah. Leesha (35:32.582) Yeah, it's cute. Leesha (35:43.568) Yeah. Yeah. Love it. Love Shotzi's. I need to make it out there. Yeah. Alex (35:45.358) And it's really cute. They have that little picture spot in there now with the swing and like the light sign, the neon sign, which has like never stopped daydreaming or never. I don't remember. It says something like that. It's really cute. It's a cute little photo spot. Leesha (35:58.312) Yeah, well Kim the owner is super sweet and she is, she does a lot for the community also. So in the community about Shotzi's it's just the best. So yeah, that's kind of what we've been up to this summer. And then we're going to be going back to school here in just, it feels like a few weeks, honestly, but it's still, we have a little bit. We're like four weeks out. Alex (36:03.917) You'll never not hear us raving about Shazzeez. my gosh, are we still for I feel like it's like next week like that's how my brain has like trained itself at this point we're exactly a month away Leesha (36:29.84) I know that's what it feels like. I feel the same way, but it is the kids, they'll start on August 11th. So we're like one month away. And we naturally have a couple of tips for going back to school. And Alex has a really good one and she's going to influence me to even do this. Alex (36:43.521) I mean, duh. Alex (36:48.221) Okay, so what's funny though is because I was kind of like persuaded of this a little bit from I don't remember who it was, but they had talked about like, why are we overspending for back to school basically? And it gets expensive between new shoes, new clothes, new supplies, supplying supplies for the teacher's classroom and then like whatever miscellaneous like lunchbox stuff, you know, all that stuff. So it was basically like a this is trending right now. So I'm going to say this. Leesha (36:54.248) Ew. Leesha (37:02.256) Yeah, because it's expensive. Leesha (37:13.18) Yeah. New backpacks. Yeah. All of it. Alex (37:18.091) de-influencing of back to school shopping. And she was like, so this is I'm tell you guys, go through what you have, you know? And I was like, yeah, why don't I? I have like four pairs of kid scissors. I don't need another pair of kid scissors. I have six pairs of headphones laying around somewhere. So, and then I also have school boxes that are brand new still. I have spiral notebooks. The pocket folders. Leesha (37:19.078) Yeah. Leesha (37:32.71) I have two headphones in the drawer. Right. Yeah, and I know I probably have folder just the regular pocket to pocket folders. Alex (37:45.462) so go through your room. I also have Kleenex like I buy the Costco Kleenex. I have a bajillion things of Kleenex. I don't need to buy more Kleenex. I can just send her with those brand new boxes of Kleenex. So go through your house, collect what you have, and then assess what do I actually need to buy? Cut down on it. Leesha (37:50.854) Yeah. Right. Yeah. Leesha (38:02.652) Yeah. And it's so funny because that when you said that it was like obviously the simplest thing. And I was like, you're right. Because I literally would have looked at the list when I walked into Walmart or Target and I would have just bought everything. But I do have a few scissors, a few headphones, like stuff that I didn't. But I would have just bought it and left it in the bag and like sent it to school. But I am going to go around the house before we go and gather up those things and cross them off. Alex (38:07.721) Mm-hmm. Alex (38:13.161) just bought it. Alex (38:22.827) Yay. Alex (38:26.477) So what's funny is I totally forgot this advice. And then I was like making my list. I was like, I can do all these things on Amazon and I'll get the rest at wherever. And then I was like, wait, I opened up our like cabinet that has like all our stuff in it basically. And I was like, well, Logan has like four pairs of scissors. She can just use those. And I was like, I'm being really dumb right now. I also have a ton of glue sticks and like, like why am I buying this stuff? I have it. Leesha (38:37.064) Mm-hmm. Leesha (38:48.904) Yeah. Right. Right. I know. It's so, it's so funny. on that same note, we were, we started to talk about, the other day when we were kind of planning was school close. So if you guys have not, I don't know how, if your kids are, you know, going into kindergarten maybe or anything, they're go, yeah, they're going to outgrow them over summer and they're going to outgrow them at the end of fall. Alex (39:02.036) Mm-hmm. Alex (39:10.037) outgrow in all their colors. Alex (39:15.861) Yeah, you're gonna need a new mid-year re-haul. Leesha (39:19.58) Don't go buy 10, 12 outfits. Like go, go through their closet, get rid of the stuff that doesn't fit or they don't like whatever, you know, donate it. No biggie. Alex (39:21.845) Or like 12 shirts, 12 pants. Or they don't like. We just did this with Logan. We did a whole bedroom purge and overhaul. We reorganized it so it made sense for her. Went through all her shoes, reorganized them, went through all her clothes, got rid of anything she didn't like, anything that didn't fit, anything that felt weird, whatever. And then organized it to donation or save for her sisters once they fit her. And then reorganized her closet. And then I was like, you don't need any clothes. Leesha (39:54.738) Yeah. Right. Yeah. You guys, that's what you guys found out. And then for my kids, because they were in uniforms, we had the opposite problem, even with the same uniform structure. My kids went there for two years though, too. So they kind of wore out their clothes they had, and then I bought new uniform clothes. And I was like, I'm not going to buy you regular clothes because you wear uniform every day. So now my kids don't have any regular clothes. And so. Alex (40:15.444) Like most of the time, yeah Like staples Mid-year. Yeah Leesha (40:24.048) We have already went through Jameson's closet and he definitely needs some clothes. But my plan is to buy three new outfits. That's it. Maybe like one new pair of shoes. Because I know I'm just gonna have to buy new ones when they grow. Delilah's getting closer to the point where she's probably not gonna grow quite as much anymore. So I'll have to see what I wanna do with hers. But for Jameson, I'm like, I'll buy you three new things. Alex (40:47.421) You may want to like assess her this year, like do your normal plan and then like at the end of the year if you're like, you know, you didn't really outgrow anything, then you can be like, okay, we don't have to do this like mid-year plan or yeah. Leesha (40:55.706) Yeah. Right. Everything. Yeah. Right. So that's kind of my tip is like don't go, don't go, you know, spending hundreds of dollars on school clothes. And- Alex (41:07.107) Don't go ham. Yeah, don't do it on school supplies. Go through your stuff first and don't do it on clothes because they grow. That was a little turd. Leesha (41:17.456) Yeah, that and kind of different, same go look at like Walmart clearance stuff because they will clearance out their summer stuff, buy for next summer. Two, probably two summers ago, I got Jameson a ton of his like muscle tanks for a dollar at Walmart and I had like four of them and he wore them for two summers. Yeah. Well for him then I did, it was like, well he was growing slower. Alex (41:24.341) Mm-mm. Alex (41:34.003) Yeah, you did. You just like do two sizes up or how did you how do you plan that? Alex (41:44.397) and the night. Leesha (41:45.734) He grew, he, since he was a baby, grew a lot slower than like Delilah did. And so he was better. I could predict his better. Now he's kind of growing faster and he like kind of, he'll grow slow, but then he skipped sizes. So I just bought whatever at the time it was, but he wore them for two summers. And then just at the beginning of the summer, I was like, okay, those are tight. You know, like we need to get new ones, but he still has two. Alex (41:53.438) Right. Alex (42:01.453) Mm-hmm. Alex (42:05.489) Mm-hmm Logan hates when I do like buy up two sizes thing But then she's like grateful at the same time because then later she's like, that's been my favorite forever And I've forgotten to have it for so long Which we even have her shirt. She wore for 4th of July this year. She's had that since she was like two. Yeah Leesha (42:13.478) Yeah. Leesha (42:16.934) Yeah. Right. Leesha (42:25.352) Forever. Yeah. look for Clarence deals, even if it's not for school stuff, but even for next summer, because they're going to start doing like closeouts and, you know, flipping the seasons. So that is definitely a couple of good tips. Alex (42:29.867) Yep. Alex (42:40.333) For uniform schools, we just kind of got a lock on where to get uniform stuff. Leesha (42:48.186) Yeah, if you have boys, Walmart has really cheap, really nice uniform shorts. And then Jamison, yeah. I had to order all Delilah stuff online, but for the French toast brand was great. And then Target had some really nice polos for boys. Alex (42:52.646) Mm-hmm. I did see them just put out their uniform stuff for girls as well. It was a really small selection though. and you did the French toast brand. Alex (43:09.389) So Target is where I got all of Logan's favorite polos from and then also her favorite skirts and aside from the French toast stuff I ordered on Amazon. Leesha (43:15.516) Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, so definitely those two. And then some of our stuff we ordered online was Carter's, I think. Carter's are the Oshkosh brand, think. Polos. Yeah, right. So yeah, good luck with all your school supply and clothes shopping. Alex (43:28.107) Yeah, Carter's has a big like uniform school. Yeah, for but only they only go so far like size wise. Yeah, so yeah, good luck with all your school supplies. Yeah, but definitely save the money where you can because you're just gonna have to do another batch mid year same with school supplies another batch. Leesha (43:45.64) Yeah. Something new that we are going to be looking at when we go back to school is different school schedules because so Delilah is a middle school, but last year they were at the charter school. So they all went to school together, same start time. This year it's going to be different. And this is new territory for me. Two different schools and two different start times. So. Alex (44:00.206) you this year. And two different, yeah, two different schools. Leesha (44:12.712) I literally haven't really put too much thought into that because normally we have like we get up, we get ready, breakfast, out the door. But now I have staggered times. So I'm going to have to figure out what that schedule looks like. Cause Jameson will go first and I know, and they're going to be riding the bus. I'm going to soak up not having to drive 30 minutes to school every morning and 30 minutes to go pick them up every day. Um, so he'll go earlier, but he wakes up earlier too. So it kind of will probably work out. Um, but. Alex (44:20.685) what that looks like. Alex (44:32.936) And you'll go. Alex (44:40.077) trust. Leesha (44:41.82) We're definitely gonna have to get back into the rhythm of getting some easy breakfast ideas. And I know you were really good about putting like freezer breakfast stuff. Yeah. Alex (44:48.489) Yeah, so I always do like prepped pan- I always have frozen pancakes. Always. And then sometimes I'll do like the breakfast sandwiches with like an English muffin or pancake top. One of the two. I do make them. and then yeah you can make those at home too really easily. Freeze them. If you have like the little egg rings Leesha (44:54.31) Yeah, we do too. Leesha (45:01.362) Mm-hmm. And you make them or you buy them? Yeah. Jamison likes the egg witches you can get at Costco. So it's like the egg and then this cheese and sausage and then the egg. Yeah. Alex (45:17.441) Those work really well to make those. And then I also usually will freeze like scones. I'll freeze like I'll pre-make bacon and then we'll just keep it in the freezer or the fridge or whatever for them to heat up. And then I have like protein muffins for when they want something like that over a pancake. And then I do, I freeze all this. Like I will be like, okay, that's my baking day and like batch make stuff. Leesha (45:18.022) Yeah. Yeah. Leesha (45:29.896) Mm-hmm. Well, that's a good idea. Leesha (45:44.744) Just batch it out. Alex (45:45.87) And hope that it lasts me two weeks at least so breakfast sandwiches the muffins the scones and then the pancakes and My husband's favorite which is either a a breakfast burrito which you can also freeze or be a breakfast pop tart like basically But with eggs and sausage and cheese. Yeah You just get like the pie crusts Leesha (45:49.256) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Leesha (46:06.184) Mmm. You're like, you're a ma- I don't do any of that. Pancakes? Yes. Scones? Maybe. Yeah, but I buy the egg witches. Yeah, for sure. And so you gotta give them protein in the morning. You got- you don't send your kids full of sugar only to school. That does not set up them well. Alex (46:17.651) It's a total lifesaver for the mornings because otherwise they end up a cereal Yeah Alex (46:29.875) Even this summer, yeah, even this summer, I've had to like be stricter about cereal with my kids, especially Logan, because she just like, if she doesn't have like a protein or something, like a higher fat thing, can, I literally can see how different our day goes. Like if she only has cereal and then like, she'll be like, I'm good, I'm full. But then she'll just be like, she will just like have meltdowns she just will be like unable to focus. And she just is like unhappy basically. Leesha (46:46.693) for sure. Leesha (46:59.164) Yeah, yeah, it's actually a pretty high priority of mine that the kids do get a lot of the healthier proteins and fats because both of them have some ADHD, I'm gonna say tendencies, because one of them is pretty well diagnosed and the other one is I'm just following, kind of following the same footsteps. And so that, if you fuel their brains so that they can function better, I think it helps any of those tendencies, anxiety, ADHD. Alex (47:03.309) to get a lot of the people in your group to get the facts because both of them have some needs to meet. I want say. Pretty well. Yeah. Mm, a lot. Leesha (47:27.528) just hyperactivity, any of it. And so just. Alex (47:28.029) Yeah. else I do, I started doing at the end of the year was the, uh, I would prep if I didn't want to have, if they wanted like yogurt for say, I'd prep a yogurt bowl for them. Like I had these divided bowls, so could do like the yogurt in one side and then granola and berries in the other side. And then they could combine and I read them separate or whatever. Um, I do it when I make her lunch the night before her and her sisters, I'd make their stuff the night before. Leesha (47:38.62) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Leesha (47:45.426) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Leesha (47:53.66) Yeah. Yeah. And if you have kids that want like something sweeter in the morning, I would go with like a pancake. I always add extra egg in my pancakes. So yeah, sometimes protein powder too. And then that kind of helps balance the syrup that they're going to put on it. Or if you're going to do yogurt, try to get one of the higher fat, higher protein ones. And they're still getting that little bit of a sweeter start. Doesn't have to be like bacon sausage, whatever, you know, it can be something sweeter, but just don't do like a bowl of Froot Loops and send them on their way. Alex (47:59.662) I do that and protein powder. Alex (48:16.244) Yeah. Alex (48:20.553) Yeah, no, and I highly recommend look up like so if like you go on Instagram and you type in like taught that this is gonna sound funny because obviously they're not all toddlers but some reason toddler food is better tasting. You do like toddler protein muffin or toddler protein something. They will have all these delicious recipes and they're like the base of them will be like cottage cheese or like a Greek yogurt and that's where they're getting their protein fat from and my kids love them and honestly I love them too. They taste so good. Yeah. Leesha (48:30.586) Yeah. Yeah. Leesha (48:43.035) you Yeah. Leesha (48:49.946) Really? I'll have to make some of those. Alex (48:51.029) I'll just see if I can find the recipe. I have it in my film, but I've kind of memorized it at this point, so. Leesha (48:56.208) Yeah, so yeah getting back into the school routines of like prepping stuff before the night before also is a huge one for us in our ADHD tendencies over here. Having everything literally ready to go. Backpack is like open ready for a lunchbox to go in it. Lunches are packed the night before. Shoes are by the door. Alex (48:59.872) and Yeah. Alex (49:13.101) We do that too. I, if we don't do, if for some reason like it didn't happen the previous night for the school year, it is just awful. Like it's just so bad in the morning. Yeah. For one, I'm not a morning person, but also like Logan will be like, she, if I rush her, she goes slower. I found it. Leesha (49:20.236) Mm-hmm. It's so bad. You feel I feel like you're running around like crazy Yeah Yeah Yeah, so if you guys need any more back-to-school tips, let us know Um, I, Delilah's going into seventh grade, so I've been doing this for quite a while and I pack my kids' lunches all the time. So if you guys are interested in hearing any lunchbox tips, let us know. Um, but we're really excited about season two and getting to go through all of our next several, what did we say? 11, 11 episodes. Alex (49:46.818) Mm-hmm. Alex (49:56.715) Cheers! Alex (50:01.709) 11 episodes and we these first couple are all kind of geared towards back to school getting in the flow your kids changes your changes what that could look like and how to handle it yeah we're hitting a lot of different subjects with that Leesha (50:09.948) Mm-hmm. Leesha (50:15.89) behavior, yeah, routines, everything like that. Yeah, so if you want, send us a DM on Instagram, tell us how your summer went and what back to school chaos looks like for you. Do you have a structure or are you like winging it? Because you know, that's kind of how we do things, but. Alex (50:25.218) Mm-hmm. Alex (50:34.379) Yeah, yeah, that is kind of how we do things, but we definitely kind of both have like a routine with school stuff. feel like Yeah, wait Yeah, every other Friday Yeah, bi-weekly guys, all right Leesha (50:42.778) Yeah, we'll be back in two Fridays. On the second Friday after this. Every other Friday. I just had to make it complicated.
