FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY 💰 Money Madness: When Greed Takes Over
Money doesn't just talk—it reveals who's really in your corner. Drawing wisdom from The O'Jays' 1973 classic "For the Love of Money" and biblical teachings, this thought-provoking bonus episode examines how wealth exposes true intentions and transforms relationships.
Have you noticed how lottery winners suddenly discover relatives they never knew existed? From distant cousins to "best friends" who haven't been seen in decades, money has a magnetic pull that attracts opportunists from every direction. This phenomenon perfectly illustrates the timeless truth that while money itself isn't evil, the love of it corrupts hearts and destroys relationships.
I share personal observations about inheritance disputes and contrast them with my pastor's wisdom in documenting her wishes so thoroughly that no conflicts could arise after her passing. When everything is "set in stone," there's simply no room for arguments or manipulation. This principle extends beyond end-of-life planning to all major financial decisions—clarity and documentation are your strongest protections.
Perhaps most importantly, I advocate for "traveling in silence" when it comes to financial blessings. Whether you've won the lottery or simply received a tax refund, discretion protects you from those who only value what's in your wallet. True connections aren't built on material gain but on genuine care that persists through both abundance and scarcity.

Hey there everyone. I'm Regina Soren. Welcome back to another, yet another pop-up bonus of Regina Soren Audio Series Presents. I'm really enjoying these pop-up bonuses. I'm sitting outside. I thought it was going to be a little chilly out here, but it is hot Outside. I thought it was going to be a little chilly out here, but it is hot. I'm sitting on the patio and I got my shades on, got everything on but my headphones, guys. So I always say you're going to hear some noises, you're going to hear some noises. You are. I want to do a pop-up bonus and I want to speak of in this pop-up bonus.
Speaker 1:The name of this topic is For the Love of Money. For the Love of Money, and we know there's a scripture in the Bible about that as well. But today I'm going to be quoting some lyrics from the, the OJ's song from the early 70s I think it was 1973. I'm going to be quoting some lyrics from the OJ's very, very popular song for the love of money. So, and I'm going to speak on that. So I am on my patio, it's very hot, so I don't plan on being out here too long. So you may hear some horns blowing, some kids playing in the street. You may hear some people splashing in the pool. Maybe not all of that, but I do want to speak on this topic and I'm going to take some lyrics from the song. I'm not going to play the song and I'm going to take some lyrics from the song. I'm not going to play the song, but I'm going to take some of the words from that song For the Love of Money by the O'Chays, a very popular song back in the early 70s.
Speaker 1:Some of you may remember that. I'll go ahead and give you a place that you can contact me. You can contact me at swornregina at gmailcom. I'd also like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you. If you are a monthly subscriber. Thank you for supporting this podcast. It means a lot to me. Also, thank you so much for those who share, listen and guess what I am at. A thousand downloads Now.
Speaker 1:That may not mean a lot. To some people that may not even seem like much and it's probably not a lot, but to me I take every little thing that God gives me, every little blessing he gives me. That's why he gives me more and more and more, because I take the little things that he gives me. See, I'm not looking to be the next Joe Rogan. I don't want to be famous. I don't want to be all of that. I just want to reach a certain amount of people, whomever the Lord wants me to reach. That's who I'm going to reach with this podcast. So I'm not looking to reach the world and world and world of people. If that's what the Lord wants me to do, then it will happen, but if it's not what he wants me to do, I am not looking for all of that. I don't need all of that. I need to reach just who the Lord wants me to reach, and that's who I reach through these podcasts and thanks to my sister, laura, who actually encouraged me back in 2020 to not give up.
Speaker 1:I want to speak in this bonus pop-up and I am outside, so it's kind of hot. I'm going to hurry and get inside, but I want to speak in this bonus pop-up for the love of money. I'm going to take a few quotes from the OJ song now. It says Some people got to have it. It goes on to say For the love of money, people will steal from their mother. For the love of money, people will rob their own brother. For the love of money. People can't even walk the streets because they never know who in the world they're going to beat. For that mean lean green, almighty dollar. Now, I probably said it a little bit. Read it a little bit wrong there, but I'm going to go on down just a little bit further.
Speaker 1:And, um, I like this one right here. For the love of money, don't sell your soul for money. No, no, for the love of money, lay down, lay down a woman will. Money is the root of all evil. The Bible says for the love of money is the root of all evil. It's not just money is the root of all evil. For the love of money is the root of all evil. It's not just money is a root of all evil. For the love of money is the root of all evil.
Speaker 1:And I thought I'd seen another one down here that I wanted to say. I think it's don't let it, don't let it, don't let it rule you. For the love of money. How many things have I heard you say for the love of money, don't let it, don't let money fool you. Yeah, I think that's enough. I want to speak on it, have? I'm giving you an illustration here.
Speaker 1:Do you ever see people who wins the lottery? And they want the world to know about it, everybody to know about. They won the lottery. I'm talking about people who win millions of dollars. Now, have you ever noticed? When they win that lottery, everybody come out of the woodworks, everybody, people that you have not heard from in years. You may not even know a son or a daughter, you may not even know a cousin, you may not even know a great, great, great great uncle or a friend, but everybody comes out of the woodwork when money, money, money is involved, and sometimes it's people that is not present in your life, in your life, but then when money is involved, oh yeah, you stake that claim. Then that's my cousin, that's my uncle, that's my sister, that's my best friend, that's my daddy's my best friend, that's my daddy. People stake that claim then, and often times it's people that has not been there, has not been there the whole time, but they are now in your life like never before, and a lot of times you see that people stake that claim. A lot of times, when people pass away, too, that also happens.
Speaker 1:People fight over wills and they fight over different things when a person is passed on. That's why you have to have this stuff in ironclad. If it's, if it's in ironclad and nobody can touch it, then there's no way that a person can come against that. And I thank God for my pastor because she, you know, she left us quite a bit. I appreciate that. But she had everything. Just, I mean she had it. I don't want to say played out, but she had it written out the way she wanted it, right down to the funeral, right down to who gets what, right down to who's on the board, right down to who gets to church. I mean she had all of that. There was no fighting. So if something is in writing, if something is fine cladded, if something is concrete, there is no way that a person can come against that. I don't care how you claw, how you box, how you fight, you cannot come against something that is set in stone. That is set in stone.
Speaker 1:And often times People they love you. They love you when you're either no longer here or when you win the lottery, when you've got a big stake of money involved. Then everybody yeah, that's my sister right there. You may not even have seen these people in years, but suddenly they love you, they love that. That's my, that's my daddy, that's my mama, and a lot of times they was not there. They has not been there. So money make people, the love of money, not money, is the root of all evil, but the love of money, For the love of money is the root of all evil. It's not money. Money is a good thing. It's something that when you need to do things that you need to do, money is good. To have money to do those things with, it is, but for the love of it, when you love it to your own heart.
Speaker 1:And many times I'll say this again when somebody win a big lottery, millions of dollars, then everybody state claim to that person that has not been in that person's life In forever, if ever at all. But if something is in concrete, there's nothing you can do about it. If it's in stone writing, there's nothing you can do about it. And again I bring it back to my pastor, because she had everything written out years before time. Yeah, this one got that, mm-hmm, that one got that. Yeah, this one got that, that one got that. We got that. It was just laid out the way it is and Just as it is. That's the way it was. You know, that's the way it is, that's the way it was Conducted after her passing. There was no, this is mine, this is mine. No, no, it don't operate like that.
Speaker 1:See, the love of money is the root of all evil, for the love of money is the root of all evil. For the love of money is the root of all evil, it's the root of all evil. It could cause you to hate, it could cause confusion, it could cause fighting. But I say if something is in stone, set in stone before a person passes away, you can fight, claw, spew or whatever you want. If something is there in stone, there's nothing you can do. I advise everybody to always have a will made out I mean in stone. And if something is made out and that's the way that person wanted it conducted, then you can fight and claw and box and spit and do everything you want to do is nothing you can do because that's what the person wanted.
Speaker 1:Or if you are a person that has won a lot of money, you know what. Be wise about it. If you win millions of dollars, be private. Don't tell the world about it. Don't go around telling people you won a whole lot of money or you got a whole lot of money. Why do people have to be so ignorant? And I say ignorant because when people win the lottery, why can't you just go undercover? You don't have to tell everybody that you won the lottery.
Speaker 1:And a lot of times these people that wins millions and millions and millions upon millions. They end up without nothing, they end up broke or they end up without their lives because they have. Everybody has come at them so much that at some point it just drives them crazy. They don't know what to do because everybody's coming at you, because people that was not in your life, your whole life. Then everybody, that's my mama, that's my daddy, that's my sister, that's my brother, that's my cousin, that's my best friend, that's my wah, wah, wah, wah wah.
Speaker 1:For the love of money is the root of all evil.
Speaker 1:So again, you got to practice traveling in silence. If you're out there, even when you get your little tax checks, yeah, those guys are going to come around when you get your checks. You know you notice that you get the tax check. Hey, baby, I love you. You're so kind. Ladies, I got to make a podcast about you know, having self-respect for yourself. I got to make a podcast about that, because men and women, they don't have enough respect for themselves. They just let anybody come along and blow in their ears and you know they fall for it and it's really, it saddens me, it's really it saddens me, really it saddens me. But for the love of money is the root of all evil and that's why I was so happy to read some of the lyrics from the oj's very popular song from 1973 for the love of of Money. What a major, wonderful song, I mean. What a song that's. It was R&B but it's like gospel Came right from the Bible, practically.
Speaker 1:So just know that anytime money is involved in something, there is going to be confusion, but if something is set in stone, is set in writing, there is absolutely nothing a person can do about it. And again, if you want a whole lot of money, the lottery, don't. Don't go undercover. Go undercover because if not, everybody out of the woodwork is going to try to take hold of you. They're going to be your everything. They know you, then A cousin you've never known before. They're going to come at you left, right, center, center, in every possible way. So just be careful, travel in silence, be wise, and if you out there. You got something going on. Set it in stone. Put it in stone, because if it's in stone, there's nothing nobody could do to fight against it.
Speaker 1:Thank you so much for listening. I'm Regina Soren. This was another pop-up bonus for those of you that needed to hear this word of encouragement on this Monday. Thank you to those who support this podcast monthly. Thank you to those who listen and share. And again, we're at 1, downloads 1 000 downloads. Last week alone, I had like 400 downloads out of two podcasts. That, to me, is a great achievement. I'm not trying to be like anybody else. I don't want to be like anybody else. I like having my own identity and that's what makes me the person that I am. So be wise, travel in silence and remember, for the love of money is the root of all evil.
