Self-Care Secrets -For M

Regina Swarn Season 7 Episode 31

Fan Mail

Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply in need of a reset? This episode dives deep into the art of relaxation and decompression—skills we all desperately need but rarely prioritize in our hectic lives.

The path to true relaxation begins with something as simple as a warm bath. I share my personal routine, including my secret ingredient (a teaspoon of organic, unscented olive oil) that leaves skin incredibly soft without irritating sensitive skin. Whether you prefer candles, soft music, or both, creating the right atmosphere transforms a quick soak into a therapeutic experience.

Physical touch holds remarkable power for relieving tension. For those with partners, I offer practical guidance for giving a restorative massage without professional training. Learn how to identify stress points along the back, neck, and shoulders—areas where we unconsciously hold tension after long workdays. Special attention goes to caring for tired feet, particularly beneficial for healthcare workers, retail employees, and anyone who stands for extended periods. The blissful sensation of "walking on clouds" after a proper foot massage isn't just imagination—it's your body thanking you for the care.

What makes these practices so valuable is their simplicity and accessibility. They require no special equipment or expertise—just intention, caring hands, and the willingness to prioritize wellbeing. Whether you're seeking self-care techniques or ways to support a loved one through physical comfort, these gentle practices create moments of peace in otherwise chaotic days.

Ready to transform stress into serenity? Try these techniques tonight and experience the difference genuine relaxation makes in your body and mind. Share your favorite relaxation practices or questions at swarnregina@gmail.com —I'd love to hear what works for you!

Speaker 1:

Hey there, I'm Ritina Swarm, and welcome back to another episode of Ritina Swarm Audio Series Presents. Do you hear the water running? Let's get a little closer. I'm making myself a nice bath, a relaxing one. In this episode, I'm going to talk about ways to relax yourself when you're super, super tired or you just need a day to decompress. That's what this podcast is going to be about today.

Speaker 1:

Thank you so much for joining me for my podcast. I appreciate all of you. Thank you to those who uh, you know who support me monthly. You may think it's a little small something, but it really makes a difference. You know, I only take it and pay for the podcast, which is what I do, and, like I said, it's not a whole lot of people. But for those who are really faithful and continue doing that, I truly, truly thank you so much. You mean so much to me for you to do that. It helps me a lot, believe it or not? Um, I only think those who listen to the podcast, those who share I really really share without me saying, hey, can you share this? Hey, those who I see sharing my podcast, it makes me feel like they're right there with me and they really do support what I'm doing Because I'm not doing anything illegal or bad or nasty or you know anything like that.

Speaker 1:

I'm trying to. You know, this is a G-rated podcast. Like today, I'm going to speak on ways that you can. You know anything like that, I'm trying to. You know this is a G-rated podcast. Like today, I'm going to speak on ways that you can, you know, decompress yourself. Stress is something that will kill you, and I want to speak today about some different remedies that you and your significant other can do to help alleviate and ease the pain. Sorry, see, when I get on here live, people start deriding me.

Speaker 1:

So I was running a bubble bath for myself because I'm super tired, and in my bubble bath I love to put olive oil. You know, I like to put that in my bath, just to. I mean, just if I have to measure it, it would be like a little teaspoon of it and I put it in my bath. I don't put a whole lot of perfumes in my water because my skin is extremely sensitive, but I do love the Dove unscented soap. I love that when you're taking a bath and in my case, a good 15, 20 minutes is good for me, but sometimes people like to be there longer, so it can. It's just something about when you, when you take a bath, it feels so relaxing. It feels it's just relaxing. I don't know about you guys, but it relaxes the whole body. So I really like that.

Speaker 1:

If I want to stay there longer, I'll probably have some music. I always have music playing, but something really soft and sweet. Nothing hard hitting or anything like that, just soft, sweet music and a bath. If you want to have your candles, that's okay. I don't do the candles, but if you want to do candles, that is really good for you if that's something you like.

Speaker 1:

And after my bath I always use my favorite moisturizers, something that's really good for the skin. That makes it extremely soft. These people always say your hands are so soft and your skin is so soft. What are you using? What are you using? And my secret really is the moisturizers that I get non-scented.

Speaker 1:

I don't like a lot of perfumes. It's just I don't like perfumes a whole lot of perfumes for myself. I definitely don't like a whole lot of perfume on other people. So when you go to shake someone's hand or hug their neck and they get on all that perfume, I don't want all this stuff on me. Sorry that it sounds really picky, but yeah, I'm just being honest. Now for something that I do for myself.

Speaker 1:

If you are with your soulmate now, we know that guys get super tired. They've been out working on these jobs sometimes you know laboring really hard, so you know when they a lot of guys you know they do construction, or even if they've been sitting at the office all day, that's that can. That can play a part in your body being really, really tired. So I say very gently you know you to have a good soulmate to hear this but very gently, just take your hands, because a woman got a very special touch in her hands. So take your hands and just massage his back area and find those points. That is really really those points. That is, uh, really really. You know, like, truly stressed, a little stress, a little tense. Find those points and you can find them. If you, if you know what you're doing and you don't have to be a professional masseuse or anything like that, you know and you're just doing this with your, your soulmate, and you're just kind of, you know, easing the back, rubbing the back and finding those parts, that's very tense.

Speaker 1:

Um, always use oil. Find your favorite oils. My favorite oils are always unscented. Um, I like olive oil, but I like olive oil. I found an organic olive oil that is has no smell to it whatsoever and but it makes the skin look super, super, super soft.

Speaker 1:

And so, as you and your cellmate and you take a little bit in the palm of your hands, you just massage the back, make sure you don't forget the neck, all those areas up there, that's really just tired. You know, in certain parts, certain parts of the back, men and women, certain parts of your back, especially in my back, the lower part of the back, down there, sometimes you can feel a lot of tension right there if you do a lot of lifting, if you work at a hospital and you're lifting a lot, lifting patients and things like that, you know it can, can, after a while, really bother you back. So, um, so that's a good thing to do for your man and you know, make sure you don't forget the neck, because it I don't know how to say this this is a g-rated podcast, so it's nothing bad on here, so kids can listen to this. So if you're sitting there with your man and you take your hands and just put them right in his neck like that, really gently, and just massage right there at the shoulder blades. Those areas are so important, I mean they're so important. Make sure you massage the shoulder blades really, really, really good. Massage the shoulder blades Really really really good. And again, all those points, those spots, I should say, that seem to tense up because they're tired. You know I'm going to quickly. There's so many more things you can do now. I'll probably make a part two, part three of this, but I'm just trying to not have the podcast too long. But I'm just trying to not have the podcast too long.

Speaker 1:

But for the guys in your soulmate, a woman's feet is a special thing. Sometimes they've been standing on their feet all day long and they're tired. Whether you're a nurse or you're an EVS or you are, I don't care what you are you work in the fast food, your feet, you're standing there on your feet. In my case, I walk all over the hospital, all over the hospital, and my feet are super tired at the end of the night. So last week I had a professional masseuse who I'm helping to get his business out there, get business cards to everybody. He's really good and he's really good, really good, really good.

Speaker 1:

He gave me the second massage foot massage, feet massage, foot massage and I'm telling you it was amazing. I was on my break and he did it for 25 minutes, I think it was. He had the special oil stuff. My feet has never felt so good in my life. When I got up, I felt like I was walking on clouds. It was so good and he had the hands to do it.

Speaker 1:

So, guys, if you're listening, your woman needs that extra touch. You know, you got those nice, strong hands. Take the bottom, the heel of the feet. This is what he did, and I'm going to have to interview him because he was so good and I just really wanted to get his business out there, because he's really good. I feel like he can really, really thrive. Thrive in this. This is something that's needed and for you out there who got your soulmate the feet, a woman's feet is just really, really important. It's very important that you take care of those feet, and I massaged him.

Speaker 1:

I mean he must, I mean he. He did everything. He massaged the fine tissue all the way up. He went all the way up my feet with both his hands and he came back down. Then he took the the toes which I love that part and I. He took them all the way down and you know I hate to. I hate to admit this. I hope my nieces and nephews are not listening.

Speaker 1:

I used to pay them to do my feet. I love that. I'm not ticklish in that area. So I used to pay my nephews and my nieces. They're young adults now, they're older adults now with kids of their own. But I used to pay them like a hundred dollars to like do my feet, like take my toes all the way back. And a lot of people ask me, do you have a bone in your toe? Because taking nobody's ever taken their toe back that far. What is wrong with you? And my nephew asked me one time he said, do you have a bone in your toe? And so it just feels so good to me. That is one of my favorite areas to be massaged is my feet.

Speaker 1:

And for you guys out there, who's listening? Your lady, you know she probably wants you to do her feet. Babe, pay those feet some attention, give them attention when she's tired and get off from work and you can both, you know, make each other feel comfort. You know the things I taught to you about, and you can do these things with your kids too. You can do certain things with your little kids. You know they can be hyperactive, and we're going to get on a whole other subject about the kids, though, but this podcast is to you, right? I haven't said anything bad, or X-rated or negative or nasty or anything like that Just giving you ideas to these little things that you could do to make your significant other feel better, to make yourself feel better, and there's something about the hands. Always remember that, whether you're a man or a woman, there's something about the hands, and there's power in the hands If you use them correctly. And so I just want to say that to you guys.

Speaker 1:

My bubba bath is probably getting a little chill right now, so I'm going to go and test the water, because it was really hot. I need some more water in there, sort of Sort of Sort of. I let some of that out and then I put some more in there, added more, so you heard the draining out, so I just put some more in there. But yeah, I'm getting ready to take a bath and kind of relax myself, and then after that, I think I'm just going to get some tea and just go take a nap. Just got to go to work tonight.
