Why I Only Work With People Who Take Their Gifts Seriously
Have you ever wondered why some business relationships thrive while others fizzle out before they even begin? The answer often lies in a fundamental mindset difference that separates serious professionals from casual dreamers.
In this candid bonus episode, I pull back the curtain on my personal philosophy toward business relationships and collaborations. I share why I've become increasingly selective about who I work with, focusing exclusively on individuals who demonstrate genuine commitment rather than just enthusiasm. When I notice potential in someone, I'm eager to help them flourish—but that potential means nothing without their own recognition of it and willingness to put in consistent work.
Time is our most precious resource, and I've learned through experience that procrastinators consume this resource without producing results. I explain the clear signals that tell me someone is truly serious: their flexibility with scheduling, their proactive communication, and most importantly, the independent actions they take even when no one is watching. Those who wait to be pushed or motivated externally simply aren't ready for the level of partnership I offer.
For listeners nurturing dreams of their own, I provide straightforward guidance on how to approach potential mentors and collaborators. Work diligently on your own first, demonstrate your seriousness through consistent action, and only then reach out for support to accelerate your journey. Without this foundation of personal commitment, even the most brilliant dreams remain just that—dreams, never transforming into the achievements they could become. If you're ready to adopt a business-first mindset and turn your aspirations into reality, this episode offers the tough love and clarity you need to move forward.

All about business. Hi, I'm Regina Swern. Welcome back to another yes, another bonus episode of Regina Swern Audio Series Presents. You can contact me at swernreginatgmailcom. Thank you so much for all of those who listen to my podcast, those who support it monthly and, if you like, and share it. Thank you. The name of this topic and it's going to be very short is called All About Business.
Speaker 1:When I go into business with a person or when someone contacts me through email, phone calls or whatever and I'm interested in working with people I want them to be 100% serious, because I am all about business and you know, sometimes I can see a gift in a person, but if they don't really see that gift in themselves, then it's almost like a waste of time. So sometimes I'll sit and listen to a person and hear them talk, but if someone makes an offer to you and that person, being me, is on the other end of business, then you're going to do everything you can to try to work with that person on their schedule. Let's meet each other halfway with our schedules, but don't say uh, what day are you gonna meet you? I'm gonna, I'm free this day, right here. No, it doesn't work like that. If you're really serious about this, then you're going to try to get with that person at any cause. So, again, when I see a gift in a person, I really encourage them. But when people are not really serious, I don't waste my time because I am business and people that know me they know I'm all about the business. So, yeah, in my emails even when people go through my emails, if they see a serious email, then they get it to me An email. When people send emails and they're not serious, I'm like, okay, I just trashed it.
Speaker 1:So it's like with the business part, If you are not serious and I have promised that we can work together and you can do some things together, then let's do that. But any other thing else is foolishness as far as I'm concerned, because with me is all about the business. I just wanted to say that because and sometimes people they have a big dream, they want to do so many things, but they're procrastinators and I don't waste my time with people who procrastinate um, you can dream to have the biggest dream in the world, but if you're not putting that dream to action, you know you may not be right there with me working with you, but you'll be doing stuff on the site, trying to help yourself. See, I realize things about people, I notice them and I'm like you wouldn't need me there to push you if you're already serious. So yeah, I'm all about the business and you've got to be about the business with me. If you're not, then please don't contact me like that. If you're not, then please don't contact me like that.
Speaker 1:And because that's all I'm about, you know it's about business. So I just want to say that if you've got a dream out there and you want to do things, work towards doing that, work towards that dream that you got. Don't let anybody stop you. If you see where people can help you, then reach out to those people who can really really help you. But make sure, when you reach out to them, that you're ready and that you're serious and that in the meantime you're working hard to try to keep your dream alive. Otherwise, it's going to be just a dream for the rest of your life. Thanks for listening. I'm Regina Soren.
