Sweet Bubble Pop: Why Sabrina Carpenter's Latest Track is Summer Gold

Regina Swarn Season 7 Episode 52

Fan Mail

Dive into the nostalgic world of Sabrina Carpenter's latest hit "Man Child" with me, Regina Swarn, as I break down why this track is capturing hearts everywhere. From the first notes, this song transports you straight back to the golden era of 80s pop music, evoking the sweet, bubbly sounds of classics like the Pointer Sisters' "He's So Shy" while maintaining a thoroughly modern appeal.

What makes "Man Child" truly special isn't just its catchy melody – it's the carefully crafted aesthetic package that comes with it. The music video is a visual feast featuring stunning vintage-inspired fashion that would make Marilyn Monroe proud. Those 40s and 50s glamour references aren't accidental; they create a perfect backdrop for Sabrina's sweet, soft vocals that occasionally hint at Dolly Parton's distinctive influence. The video's high production value includes clever nods to classic films like Mission Impossible, rewarding viewers who appreciate these subtle pop culture references.

For those who might dismiss Sabrina Carpenter as a newcomer, it's important to recognize she's been honing her craft for about a decade across television and music. "Man Child" represents an artist at the top of her game, blending elements of pop, country, and rock into something uniquely refreshing in today's often over-produced music landscape. With her full album set to drop this August, following successful releases like "Espresso" and her collaboration with Dolly Parton on "Please Please Please," Sabrina is proving herself as one of pop's most versatile and exciting voices. Don't miss the chance to experience this perfect summer anthem – head to YouTube now and see what everyone's talking about!

Speaker 1:

Oh boy, ah. Hello, I'm Regina Swern. I'm here to review man Chow by Sabrina Carpenter. Now, I love Sabrina's style and her songs. She's been around a while. She didn't just pop up out of nowhere. She's been around. She's been on television shows and I mean the girl has been around, so don't think that she just came out of nowhere because she's been around. So I'm here to review very briefly Manchow, which I really like. I was playing it the other night and, um, I really like it. So I'm watching the video and I'm doing a quick review.

Speaker 1:

It's not gonna be very long, but right here, in the beginning of this song, I'm gonna tell you right now, right here. You know what it reminds me of the music right here. Oh boy, check it out. It's got that 80s feeling and I'm going to tell you when I say 80s, it kind of put me in mind of he's so Shy. I know a lot of people have said you know Huey Lewis and a lot of other singers that it has that 80s feeling to it. I don't ever hear people say that beginning of he's so Shy. I think this is a song by the Pointer Sisters. It got that feel to it as well. So I love the 80s music and this song throughout got that 80s, pretty much that 80s sound to it. That's what I really like about it. So let's go a little bit, let's delve a little bit deeper in that and I'm watching the video as well Wow.

Speaker 2:

I love it, just forgot to charge it. Oh, I'll fit you in, god. I hope it's all right. You just say you're finished, didn't know we started.

Speaker 1:

Oh, so you finished, didn't know what we started. Oh my god, with a line um, oh my god, okay, slow it down. Um, you know what I'm looking at? I'm looking at the vintage clothing. I'm a very huge fan of Marilyn Monroe and I love the style in the beginning of the video and throughout the video.

Speaker 1:

Sabrina has some of the most amazing outfits here and the song itself. It has that again. It has that 80s kind of pop kind of sweet, kind of, you know, the kind that you really like. It's not like like the music now is like over-saturated or over-whatever. Sabrina has brought back a really sweet pop kind of sound and I'm truly loving this new song by her.

Speaker 1:

And so let's go a little bit further and watch the video. You gotta see this. The outfits are to die for, I'm gonna say to die for it, literally. But the outfits again reminds me of, like the Marilyn Monroe, the you know, the vintage, that really cool kind of sweet, kind of cool sexy feel to it Like not oversaturated, not at all, but it's got that sweet bubbly and I'm focused here basically on the outfits and the song. How beautiful and how it was well produced. The video is well produced and it has references to so many different movies here. Oh, my god, I'm watching it. And for me personally, because I love different type outfits and things of that nature, I'm just loving her outfits here. I mean it's really beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Yeah, this is like something from Mission Impossible. Yeah, tom Cruise, yeah, love it.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god, this is so cool.

Speaker 1:

This is so cool. Now. I told you guys I was going to do a long, long review, because my podcast is audio, so you kind of have to visualize it, but I want you guys to go watch this video. I want you guys to go watch this video. My review of this song is sweet, bubbly, cute.

Speaker 1:

I think Sabrina is at the top of her game in this song. It is so pretty. I'm loving the outfits. Oh my God, her outfits are so cool and the song is so cool. And uh, yeah, you gotta go check it out. I tell you it's gonna be a short review. Uh, this is an audio series, so you know, just give my intake on what I think about quickly. So but go check out sabrina carpenter latest track. Uh, the album is going to be released in August. I think August the 29th or something like that, don't quote me, but I think the album is going to be released then.

Speaker 1:

But you can go check out man Chow, the official video, my Sabrina Carpenter on YouTube and it is amazing, guys, I love the beat, I love this sound. It totally takes my mind back to the 80s, that pop kind of sound to it and those outfits in this video. They are just trending everywhere. Put my mind back into the 50s, one of my favorite eras, the 40s and the 50s. So go check out Sabrina Carpenter online. Man show the video. And, yeah, she's got a beautiful voice. Her voice to me is very sweet, soft, bubbly, you know. Yeah, go check it out. I just want to come to you just for a minute, guys. I told you it was going to be a very long review. I know a lot of people go all the way through the song. I can do what I have to do in just a few minutes because this is an audio. But what I think of the song and the video, I think it's going to do very well this summer. Sabrina Carpenter man Chow Sounds so good, sounds so good.

Speaker 1:

Look at the guy dancing.

Speaker 2:

Oh god, this is so cool.

Speaker 1:

I mean those shoes and the outfits. I'm just, I'm blown away by her outfits here. Yeah, I'm blown away by her outfits here. Yeah, love it, love it. I know, listen, listen, listen. I know a lot of people are going to say, oh, she's bashing the guys. Guys, this is a sweet song. I'm not sure if it's about an ex-boyfriend or what, I'm not sure what it's really about, but it's a really sweet song. It's a really sweet sound and if you like the music from the 80s, if you're an 80s baby kind of music, then you're going to really like this video.

Speaker 1:

And Sabrina is bringing something really great to music. I guess she's been around. She didn't just pop up out of I got a question there, thank you, she didn't just pop up out of nowhere. She's been around, for you know, with her craft, for about 10 years she's been making records for a long, long, long time. So this is her time to shine and I think she's going to do very well. She did what very well with expresso and, please, please, please with dolly parton.

Speaker 1:

And you know, again in this song it has that dolly parton type uh feel to it if you listen to it's kind of got a dolly portent sound to it. So, uh, yeah, and I'm a fan of dolly portent? Yes, I am, guys. So if you got, if you like, a little bit of pop, a little bit of country, a little bit of rock and roll and from a better era to me, like the 80s and a little bit farther back, then go check it out. So, yeah, thank you for listening. I'm regina soren. I just want to come to you briefly with my take on the new sabrina carpenter song, man chow. The album comes out in august that's, uh, not too long from now, but go check out the video over at YouTube Sabrina Carpenter, man Chow sounding so good. Sabrina, keep up the great work, and that's all I gotta say. Guys, take care and talk to you soon. I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't.

Speaker 2:

I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't, I just can't I.
