A Memorial Podcast Service Honoring Sister Lora’s Legacy

A dream can die twice: once when circumstances shut it down, and again when grief convinces you it will never return. We’re sharing why “Let’s Have Church” is coming back now as a memorial podcast service honoring my sister Lora, and why the purpose stays crystal clear: lifting up the name of Jesus Christ. If you’ve been carrying loss, postponing a calling, or trying to make sense of timing, you’ll hear a story that treats faith as something lived, not just said.

We talk about how the idea started after our mother’s passing in January 2020, when Lora and I planned a simple, one-service recording just to “have church.” Cancer weakened her body, and the plan had to be put off. After Lora died, I was shattered and couldn’t move forward. Years later, God put the vision back on my heart, and I finally understand it as both remembrance and responsibility: not lifting up my sister as an idol, but keeping her legacy of worship alive by pointing listeners back to the Lord.

The “Let’s Have Church” Vision

about Let's Have Church. Um, the memorial on behalf of my sister that God laid on my heart to do. Um I think I told you in my last podcast how my sister and I, about roughly five months before she passed away, shortly after my mom was uh laid to rest back in January of 2020, um, my sister Lori and me we decided, hey, let's just do a podcast, you know, about just having church. Just one service, let's just have church, you know, just my sister was about lifting up Jesus and lifting up the Lord. She was about the church, y'all. All about the church. And so we planned that, but you know, God has God has the last word. So the Lord, you know, as the cancer spread it throughout her body, she got so weak that she couldn't do anything. And she said, Gina, we have to put this off to later. But she didn't say this one thing. She said, But if you like the idea, you you go with you do it. But unfortunately, after she passed away, I was so broken by her death. So all these years later, all these years later, sorry, God put this back on my heart as a uh way of honoring her memory and honoring, of course, the Lord, because at the end of the day, it's about lifting up the Lord Jesus because that's what my sister was about. So it's not about lifting up my sister, not at all, but remembering the Lord and her legacy. I keep that alive. So I thank God for all who has signed

on to be a part of this. Oh my Lord, I just thank the Lord for you all, everyone that's gonna be a part of this. It's gonna be a podcast. I have several big name radio stations who are really promoting this in the name of Jesus. Podcasters who are promoting it. Um, and of course, I'm making each and every podcast I can about that from here on out, about the um memorial. Let's have church, and it's not about this one out doing that one, that one not doing that one. And as I told my family, guys, look, it's about lifting up Jesus, it's about giving praises to the Lord and praising the Lord because that at the end of the day was what my sister was all about. Lifting up Jesus, lifting up the Lord, and that's what it is all about. And let's have church, that's what it's about. I've had uh this the last person sign on that's gonna be a part of this, uh uh minister Elder Davis and his and his team. I'm so happy to have them because they know they knew my sister. We went on street services with Elder Davis in the past. We did things with him and and his wife and his his uh beautiful wife, Sister Donna Davis has been on my podcast, his beautiful sister, Sister Dolores, they have been on my podcast, and we had service, we had church, and I'm so glad that they're gonna be a part of um this program. all know, we already got Pastor Tammy Watson, who's signed on to be a speaker in one of those podcasts. Gonna be a separate podcast. These are gonna be separate podcasts, but it's all about lifting up the name of Jesus at the end of the day. All about having church because I remember what Mother A. B. Jackson, our beloved pastor, taught us to that, to God, to the Lord be the glory, and it's all about lifting up Jesus, and that's what my sister Laura was about, lifting up the Lord. And so we're gonna push this forward and have this because I guess at the end of her life, she was so weak she could not do it. She wanted to though, but when she died, I was so broken uh with the nervous breakdown, with things that happened in my life, I couldn't do it. But now, now God had said now is the time. There's always a time and season for everything, and this is the time and season to do this podcast. Let's have church. So we got signed on to do this podcast. Um, Pastor Tammy Watson is going to do a podcast for me and with me, with her team. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Jesus.
