Honoring A Sister Through Old Time Worship

A promise made in a hard season can sit on your chest for years. I’m sharing what’s behind the bonus podcasts I’m releasing while I prepare a Celebration of Life memorial for my sister Lora, and why this moment is about more than announcements. Lora was my biggest cheerleader, and before she passed from cancer she asked for one specific thing: a church service style podcast where we sing, read the Bible, and preach the way we grew up, rooted in the tradition we learned through our mother and Prophetess Mother A.B. Jackson. 

After our mother was laid to rest in January 2020, Lora’s health took a turn and she became too weak to record. When she passed, I couldn’t bring myself to do it, and I’m honest about how deep that grief went. But I believe God laid it on my heart to finally complete what we planned, not to spotlight Lora as an idol, but to lift up Jesus the way she would have wanted. um as our mother was late to rest, mother sworeing was late to rest back in January of 2020, um, Laura, the two of us we got together, we said, Gina, let's do a podcast, and because she she followed my podcast. Now, if you don't follow this podcast, and if you've never been on this podcast, then you don't know anything about my podcast. You know, because thousands of people do follow, but some people don't follow. So if you don't follow, I'm actually not speaking to you because you don't know what I'm talking about, but I had just started the podcast in the early stages of the podcast. And Sister Laura, who believed in everything that I did or would do, my sister was my biggest cheerleader. I say that all the time, and I talk about it all the time in all of my podcasts. Laura’s Request To “Have Church”

do a podcast about just having church? Just one podcast. She said, just one. And what we have in church, just having church, because that's what we grew up with, you know, with our mother, with uh with our pastor, prophetess mother A.B. Jackson. So she said, can we just do a podcast? One, just having church. While we're on there singing, uh reading the Bible, preaching, and she said, let's just do that. And in her last stages of her life, she really wanted to do that. But after our mom passed away and was laid to rest, Sister Laura kind of took a turn for the worst. It's cancer has spread it throughout her body. So she got so weak. Everybody would start writing me now. Oh my god. But she got weak in her body and she could not do it. So when she passed away, I could not do it, guys. I was so again broken because my sister had died. And uh with the nervous breakdown and all that stuff, I don't have to walk you back do that again. It was a very depressing time for me. I couldn't do it, and for years I couldn't do it. I couldn't pick up that banter and just keep going. But God laid on my heart, this year, I want you to do something that you and your sister plan to do. Do that podcast, church service. And that's what this podcast is all about. I have two speakers. I have Elder Leonard Davis and his team, and I always say his team, I mean his wife, his sister, and anyone else that he wants to bring along. And I have sister Pastor Tammy Watson. They're gonna speak because these speakers, I know they're gonna come with power. And it's again all about the Lord. I'm not here to lift up my sister, I'm here to lift up the Jesus. I'm here to lift up Jesus in the praise of the Lord because that's what my sister was about. But these podcasts are in honor of her. And again, I'm speaking it a bit again because um the posters, um, the set of posters will go out next week all over the internet. I want to take this moment to thank the radio stations, I mean big name radio stations who are actually airing it and talking about it on their radio shows. Podcasters who, I mean big name podcasters. I'm not talking about little ones, I'm doing my big names, are are doing podcasts and and and naming

Turning Grief Into A Calling

my podcast and naming this uh memorial service and just giving it a lot of attention. Bloggers are doing blogs about it. YouTubers with over a hundred thousand followers giving uh attention to this uh church service. You out there, you're invited. If you like to let me if you let me know ahead of time, you're invited to call into these different uh services. If you want to be a part of it, I'll tell you the rules and regulations. Um, and you're you're you're welcome, but we gotta keep it holy. We gotta keep it in the name of the Lord because that's what it's all about. It's not about any um competition or or this we're doing better than the next. It's about fasting and praying and giving God the service that the Lord wants, giving God that glory, and that's what this is all about, and that's what my sister Laura was all about. So again, you can look for the posters, but I've already started posting out on social media.

Speakers, Purpose, And Keeping It Holy

I've been posting on Facebook and on my Instagram, which is where I do most of my business. I've been posting there on Instagram, I haven't posted anything on Twitter or TikTok because I really am not over there much, so I haven't posted anything there. Maybe I should. I don't know. Maybe I will, but I don't think I'm gonna post anything over on TikTok or Twitter. I may post on Twitter, I don't know, but I know I'm not gonna go to go to TikTok. I'm just not gonna go over there. But uh things are online right now, so if you're interested, and I know you're interested before these services take place, and you want to call in, you want to be a part of it, you're welcome. But again, this is about lifting up Jesus. That's what it's about at the end of the day. When my sister Lori, when we would do uh uh concerts and things for the church on behalf of Mother A. B.
