Fr. Michael Newman, OSFS, is back for a second round of questions that our listeners have submitted:

  • If we have a falling out with a loved one; how can we heal and forgive if the other person doesn't communicate with us?
  • Mass is getting crowded and I've been going to another church because of it. Are there plans to add another Mass?
  • Are we supposed to stand or kneel during and after communion and when is it appropriate to sit down afterward?
  • During the consecration of the Eucharist, why are the bells rung on the altar?
  • If I pray daily and can admit sins to God and ask for forgiveness, why do we do confession / reconciliation? How often should we go to confession>
  • I've heard from someone of a different religion that it's a sin to use incense. Why would that be? What is our stance as Catholics?
  • What is the worst or most challenging part of being a priest at Holy Family?
  • My non-denominational friends ask my why do I believe and pray the rosary to Mary. How can I defend my faith from those who call it idolatry and vain repetition?
  • Why do we not give the Bible and verse of the readings at Mass?
  • What is the best or favorite part of being a priest?
