She's in the Weeds - Pop Culture and The Female Experience
Every Wednesday hosts and millennial besties, Sam and Hollis, explore and discuss the intersection of pop culture past and present and the female experience. They're here to unpack the messy parts, the fun parts, and most importantly, the parts that inform our ideas about being a woman. They get in the weeds each week on the culture that shaped our girlhood and follows us into adulthood examining what it teaches us about self-worth, agency and identity. Join them as they share their lives and thoughts on current pop culture news, review 90s and 00s tv and film, and highlight notable female pop culture icons. Come for the hot takes. Stay for the bestie banter.

We're yapping about smoke alarm mishaps, fall break travels, trick or treating, and Sam's discovery of new and PROFOUND Hocus Pocus lore. Then it's on to rating our top 5 Halloween treats! Next, we've got some thoughts on Tyra Bank's new business venture, Bradley Cooper's new face, and our own journey's with growing older. Then it's time to get in the weeds with a revived segment! Remember that one time we decided to have a pop culture queen of the month? So do we! We're bringing it back by honoring none other than the iconic Queen herself, Diane Keaton! May she rest in peace. We're sharing a bit about her background, the movies we know and love, and her overall fabulousness. Of course we couldn't mention Diane without chatting a bit about the Woody Allen controversy. We're sharing some thoughts on the alleged facts, Diane's reaction to it, and what it might be like trying to process your thoughts and feelings when someone you once loved and admired allegedly does something unfathomable. Next, we're sharing some thoughts on Kristen Bell's strange and untimely anniversary post to her husband which causes Hollis to reflect on her own social media behavior. As always we're wrapping things up with gripes about public facilities and loud appliances and grapes to good bites and pet hypes. See you in the weeds!
