They dig deep on the millennial culture that shaped their girlhood, and the current pop culture influencing their adulthood, examining what it teaches women about self-worth, agency and identity. Join them as they share their lives, dish on reality tv, celebrity drama, and social media culture, reminisce about millennial pop culture, review 90s and 00s tv and film, and highlight female pop culture icons. Behind the Spotlight: A Look at Gender and Racial Pay Gaps in Hollywood

In this episode we break down the complex pay gaps in Hollywood affecting white women and women of color. We explore how gender and racial inequalities collide to create systemic wage disparities and discuss the broader implications for the entertainment industry. But first we're yapping about hawk attacks, women supporting women, and guy's girls. Then we're circling back to our ongoing conversation on beauty standards and breaking down how our participation affects us as individuals and society as a whole with a little lesson on desirability politics. Next, it's time for a reality check and we're diving into the Bravo TV drama on the most recent episodes of The Valley and In The City. Then it's time to get in the weeds with a look at the Hollywood wage gap. We're bringing you some facts about what female stars have been paid versus their male counterparts as well as what women of color have been paid vs their white female counterparts. We're breaking down the secretive and discriminatory Hollywood pay structures and contracts that have systematically quelled women's earnings for years. We also discuss the 2014 Sony Pictures information leak and Jennifer Lawrence's 2015 essay titled, "Why do I Make Less Than My Male Costars" that sparked progress and change. Finally we're highlighting some ways in which women have combatted the pay gap, fought for their deserved equal pay, and are actively creating avenues to advance the careers of women of color who are still lingering significantly behind. As always we wrap it up with gripes about software updates and traffic emergencies and grapes to lounge wear and new tech accessories. Join us!
