She's in the Weeds - Pop Culture and The Female Experience
A podcast exploring the intersection of pop culture, past and present, and the female experience. Hosts Sam and Hollis are here to unpack the good, the messy, and most importantly, that which informs our ideas about feminism and being a woman. They dig deep on the millennial culture that shaped their girlhood, and the current pop culture influencing their adulthood, examining what it teaches women about self-worth, agency and identity. Join them as they share their lives, dish on reality tv, celebrity drama, and social media culture, reminisce about millennial pop culture, review 90s and 00s tv and film, and highlight female pop culture icons. Come for the hot takes. Stay for the bestie banter. New episodes Wednesdays.

It's pop culture queen of the month where we feature an iconic woman owning the spotlight and crown her queen! This week we're digging deep on the life, career, and success of Keke Palmer! But first, we're yapping about some fun new guests on the horizon, building community, and True Blood. Then we're diving into a She's in the Comments segment to air grievances about internet trolls and nefarious mother in law behavior. Next, we've got to talk about House of Stassi and episode 1 of The Valley reunion. Both were entertaining yet disappointing in their own way. Then it's time to get in the weeds with August's Pop Culture Queen Keke Palmer! Hollis is walking us through her early life and career as a child star, her breakout roles, music career, awards and achievements, and her openness and honesty about her struggles with depression, anxiety, and even her illicit relationship with a 20 year old man when she was just 15. Keke's had an impressive and successful career. She has several projects on the horizon and currently hosts her podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer. She's a breath of fresh air and inspiration to girls and women. As always we wrap it up with gripes about the underfunded and under researched and app malfunctions and grapes to novelty cups and baby animals.
