The Lone Star Conservative

Conservative Cities, Legal Battles, and Hurricane Helene: A Texas Perspective (9/30/2024)

Patriot Talk 920 AM

Could urban planning ideas from the left actually align with conservative values? Join me, Michael Wilson, on The Lone Star Conservative as we explore the surprising intersections between walkable cities, healthier food policies, and our core principles of community building and health. We also dive into the severe impact of Hurricane Helene on North Carolina, where catastrophic flooding has left many in dire need of rescue and support. With the mobilization of resources by Florida's National Guard, we emphasize the call for thoughts, prayers, and donations to assist the affected families.

We then shift our focus to a range of pressing legal and social issues. From Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's lawsuit against the city of Austin over out-of-state abortion funding to the shocking misconduct of a math teacher accused of child grooming, this episode covers the complexities of our education system, the flaws of the bond system, and taxpayer-friendly budget decisions in Hood County. We'll also discuss Texas's proactive border control measures and the contentious debate over age-inappropriate content in public libraries, highlighting the ongoing struggle to protect our communities and uphold conservative values.

Lastly, we tackle the legal and political battles shaping Texas today. Hear about the lawsuit involving gender dysphoria and its classification under federal disability law, the political ramifications of Texas House candidate Cecilia Castellano's legal troubles, and the influence of the gambling lobby in Texas politics. With a critical look at the Biden administration's executive orders and the importance of state-led initiatives, this episode promises a comprehensive and thought-provoking discussion on the issues that matter most to our listeners. Don't miss out!

Speaker 1:

from deep in the heart of texas, from houston's god-loving patriot and the voice of reason. This is the lone star conservative michael wilson. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 4:

It has been a good, good weekend. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson. It's good to be back with you guys this morning. You know, right now, I think, outside it's currently 71 degrees, with a high today of like 96. So it's going to be. It's going to be hot. Um, it should be definitely warming up here. Just just a few minutes, a few hours, though. On the bright side, today is the last day of september, going into october tomorrow, which means hopefully soon we'll be getting to what we actually call fall, which is not a high of 96 degrees.

Speaker 4:

I keep looking forward at like a week or two in advance, and it keeps seeming like it's getting further and further away every time I look. Hopefully, now that we're getting into October, hopefully within the next couple of weeks, we should actually be getting into some nice weather, though the overnights have been great. I was out sitting on my back porch middle of the night early this morning and it was delightful. It was very nice outside, almost as a native Texan, cool enough to wear a hoodie outside, maybe some pants instead of shorts. So I'm definitely appreciative of that. I will be much more appreciative when it's not burning outside in October. But we can't complain too much, especially when people have it so much worse than us and, speaking of weather, that's so much worse than us.

Speaker 4:

I'm sure you all heard a lot of the devastating news coming out of Hurricane Helene, which the damage caused by that hurricane was genuinely unimaginable. It was unfathomable that it would do and cause the amount of damage that it did. People knew that it was going to whack the Florida coastline. That was expected. People knew that it was going to cause some random flooding throughout Georgia, some in Alabama. It was going to have some problems, even up into the Carolinas and Tennessee, some in Virginia. I reported on that before the weekend. I don't think anyone expected what really ended up happening, which was what happened specifically. I think the biggest problem Though again there were floods much more than they expected in almost all the states, but specifically the one I think that was whacked actually the hardest, possibly even harder than Florida, was North Carolina. Florida was North Carolina. Right now I think the estimates are showing anywhere from $15 to $100 billion in damage. From the estimates we're getting, I think the death toll is sitting around 90 right now and they've only just begun actually going in with evacuation teams and starting up that toll. So, again, the odds are that it's going to continue climbing the more they do that, uh. But we're looking right now at 15 to 100 billion dollars in damage, 90 as a death toll. Uh, from the carolinas, georgia, florida, tennessee and virginia.

Speaker 4:

Um, and this I want to read this because this is from rutherford county in north carolina emergency management. This is what they wrote emergency update for lake lure, chimney rock Chimney Rock Village area rescue operations. Emergency management has successfully secured multiple air rescue resources to successfully to airlift citizens out of the Lake Lure Chimney Rock Village area. Once evacuated, individuals will be transported to RS Central High School where they will receive further assistance. Please be aware that cellular and phone communication is extremely currently extremely limited in this area. We understand the concern and uncertainty this may cause and we kindly ask for your patience, as these rescue efforts will take some time. As soon as we receive the name of those rescued, we will make every effort to reach out to families and individuals who have inquired about their loved ones. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated during this challenging time.

Speaker 4:

Now, if you've not seen the videos, as of yesterday, there were like 1.3 million people without power. I think that number has significantly dropped, mainly because that Ron DeSantis mobilized the Florida National Guard, which has had a profound impact on a lot of things. And it's also extra surprising because, while he's done more for North Carolina, seems, than our current federal administration and possibly more than North Carolina herself has done, the North Carolina governor is just kind of failing at every turn to actually help in any reasonable way. But yeah, if you've seen any of the videos coming out from over the weekend, there was such intense flooding that you saw videos of houses being literally washed away. You saw towns that were completely covered over. There was a video of a drone video taken. I think it might have been Asheville, where the town was underwater, as in. You could see the sign for Wendy's and the building. The outside of the building you could see the roof of, but the sign was very tall, so you could still see the sign, but you could not see the building at all. There were dams that broke.

Speaker 4:

No one was expecting North Carolina to get hit as hard as North Carolina got hit. So many people died, so many people's livelihoods are just gone. I mean, this was not. I think this was like a once in a century or more storm that hit North Carolina. North Carolina just has basically no experience with this level of damage from such a storm. They had no idea what they were handling, what they were dealing with and nobody was expecting it.

Speaker 4:

So I think we need to sincerely offer up all thoughts and prayers that we can help in any way we can. I know there's links online for donating to support a lot of these families. If you have family members continually check up on them. North Carolina especially, like all the states, obviously need lots of prayer, but North Carolina especially, there are entire towns that are just gone, neighborhoods just decimated, just levels of flooding where you can just see there's no more road. The flooding has come up to the overpass that went over the road. It was incredibly bad in a way I can't describe if you've not seen the actual footage. So I'd encourage you, if you can go, look at the footage, see what happened and, if you feel so compelled, offer up a prayer, maybe offer up some financial resources to people who may be hurting right now and use it as an opportunity to realize that we should not take for granted the 96 degree weather that, if you have to pick between 96 degrees and your entire town being destroyed. In my opinion, that's a pretty easy choice.

Speaker 4:

Speaking of other pretty easy choices, you know, one of the easy choices is this upcoming presidential election, and I mean that in every reasonable way possible. I cannot imagine a scenario where a reasonable human being would vote for kamala. I have to believe that most of these people that are voting for Kamala are just not reasonable people. Like if you look through her actual policies, her actual beliefs, things she's spouted for years, I don't see how you can reach a conclusion where you're a reasonable, thoughtful person and you're choosing to vote for Kamala Harris. It just those. It's an oxymoron. Intelligence and Kamala are oxymorons. You can't be an intelligent person and vote for her, but Intelligence and Kamala are oxymorons. You can't be an intelligent person and vote for her. But there's not just not voting for Kamala is not the only reason to vote for Trump.

Speaker 4:

A big one, even for conservatives, has been RFK Jr, and I pointed out before. Rfk Jr is a serious lib. He's very much a on climate change, on a lot of things, but there are a couple of things that he got right and the main one people think when they think RFK Jr thinks and big food, all of these industries kind of working together to create this sick, fat, lazy population, and so that's one of the things he's very good at and that's why Trump has been like really pushing for that to be. His role in the administration is to handle these sorts of things and to look into these sorts of things, and so Texas Agriculture Commissioner, sid Miller, who I love for a lot of reasons. He's not perfect, but nobody is. He recently wrote an opinion piece throwing his full support behind Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Robert F Kennedy Jr to expose and their plan to expose big food and to make America healthy again, which I absolutely love, not only because it's strategic and it's convincing a lot of white suburban kind of health conscious vegan moms, but also because it's having a significant impact on, like, the things that I believe.

Speaker 4:

If you are unaware, if you've not been here for long, if you don't know my positions I drink raw milk. I have chickens in my small backyard so that we have fresh eggs that are not fed the terrible food. I intentionally try to live in a way that is relatively healthy. I'm not perfect at that. I've got to eat still. I'm not like going crazy with it. I, in every regard, am a big fan of like a lot of what Europe has done with banning a lot of the food additives, banning a lot of the seed oils, banning a lot of the dyes that all have proven, studied, valid reasons to ban them. They're very bad for your health, there's zero upside other than the affordability of them, and money for the sake of the entire population's health is no bueno.

Speaker 4:

So he wrote this opinion piece. Here's some of what he said, quote as the agriculture commissioner of one of the biggest farming and ranching states in the country, I am excited that Robert F Kennedy Jr has joined the Trump campaign and is adding his important voice. I have long advocated for policies that help make Americans healthier. He then went on to explain that Americans are seeing a chronic health crisis arising in the US US from valuing cheapness over quality in food. Man, I hit the nail right on the head before I even read this out loud.

Speaker 4:

It's a fair point and it's a good point, which is that and this is overall one of the major issues with any economic system is that you can go too far. Like capitalism is a good thing, but taken to its extreme, it results in oligarchical corporate greed right, which is where companies will do absolutely anything if it means making more money, like, I think most Americans on both sides of the political aisle, bipartisanly, can agree that child slavery is bad, that child labor for poverty wage is a bad thing, and we should be willing to utilize government force to ensure that that's not happening. That's why countries have left America to go do it elsewhere where it is legal. And so when you have an economic system or a system in general that is only about individual freedom and you don't add anything else in, what you wind up with is well, they have the right to sell you this type of food, they have the right to produce food. That is this, and I've never been a fan of that argument. I say that rights are not endless, they are not infinite, they are not limitless.

Speaker 4:

There is a time and place for the government to get involved, otherwise you wouldn't have a government, and I think one of those is banning huge corporations from forcefully creating a population that has an obesity epidemic Like if you look back at 1992, I believe it was In 1992, no state had a greater population of obese people than 20%. Not a single state, not one state in America had a population that was that 20% of their population or more had obesity, that there was an obesity problem. As of the past couple of years, not a single state had a rate less than 20%, as in from 1992 to today so 30 years it went from there were very few obese people to there were very few people that weren't. That shift happened very quickly and it's the food. Here's more from what he's saying.

Speaker 4:

Quote common sense tells us that only whole, natural food can feed, repair and nurture our bodies at the cellular level. He also called for policy changes to encourage healthy eating, such as updating SNAP benefits to pay for nutritious food and expanding to a national level the current practice in Texas schools of feeding children healthy, locally sourced food at lunch, which he did. Huge on that. I've talked about that before, not here but elsewhere, on how big of a deal I thought and important that was. He said. Quote expanding this program nationwide would not only result in healthier kids learning better nutritional habits, but it would also give our farmers and ranchers new local markets where transport costs are low and the benefits are shared by all.

Speaker 4:

Our great American farmers know this big food fight and they are under incredible pressure. Family farms are closing or selling to commercial factory farms at an alarming rate. He warned that, just like big pharma, big food does not care about people's health. They only care about financial gain. He praised farmers and ranchers for coming up with practices such as no-till farming and intensive grazing, as with these practices, farmers are using fewer chemicals, creating healthier soils and yet still producing more food. He explained that forever, chemicals such as pfas threaten public health and should be removed from the environment.

Speaker 4:

Back in june of this year, for reference a group of like I think it was fort worth there was a ranch, there were some ranchers at Fort Worth that were that were actively leading a lawsuit against the environmental protection agency because there were very high amounts of per and poly uh flora, uh flora, uh alkaline or whatever, um, and basically it was causing very serious issues because it was in the fertilizers they were, they were non-consensually using on these people's lands. They were causing actual health benefits to the farmers and their families. So in the face of these challenges, sid Miller said, quote today, with the leadership of President Trump and RFK Jr, america stands at the edge of a new dawn in sustainable, profitable and healthy farming that preserves our environment and supports this essential American industry. President Trump will lead us into this brighter, healthier future, and he chose the right man for the job in Robert Kennedy, and so what I want to end this segment on is that right there is listen, and this is very important.

Speaker 4:

Being a conservative does not mean that you are inherently inclined and required to defy any position the left takes. Conservatives have been very guilty of that. It's called being a contrarian. It's very common. You feel uncomfortable agreeing with a Democrat. Thus, even if they maybe had a good idea, you dismiss it on its face because it came from a Democrat. That's very common. I'll give you a great example Walkable cities.

Speaker 4:

We've called them a globalist regime and that's what they want to do with them. But being anti-walkable cities in general is just in poor form. There's no reason to be. Walkable cities crafted a community that was much tighter-knit, which is what conservatives claim to want. It was much more fostering to the economy, much more stimulating to the economy, much more beneficial to people's overall health, overall happiness. There were basically no drawbacks.

Speaker 4:

But most conservatives say, oh, we don't want walkable. No, no walkable cities, because leftists also want walkable cities. It's the same with healthy food and being super big into making sure that we ban food, certain foods, certain additives, certain chemicals, certain colors, it's like, just because the left has an inclination to be healthy, guess what? No matter how far right you are, you should also desire that you are, that you are healthy, your kids are healthy, and that corporations are not so embroiled by greed that they will basically poison you for life. Dementia, for example, did not exist prior to the introduction of a lot of these chemicals in the foods. So I'm wholeheartedly on board with what Sid Miller is saying. That's one reason I've personally been excited with the addition of Robert F Kennedy Jr, even though he's a far leftist. He's not being put in a position where those policies will have a direct impact, like the Second Amendment, like climate change. Instead, he's being placed in areas that are actually going to be beneficial to our country.

Speaker 4:

Now, when we get back talking about beneficial actually talking about not beneficial remember that thing that Austin was trying to do. You're like Michael, you're talking about a bad thing Austin was trying to do. You're going to have to tax people more and then take those tax dollars to pay for women to travel across state lines with a plus one to go get an abortion, since they can't here in Texas anymore. Well, that might be coming to an end because of our favorite attorney general. We'll talk about that when we get back. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson. Speaker 4:

Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson. So Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued the city of Austin for the 50 billionth time to stop taxpayer money from funding women's travel for out-of-state abortions. The lawsuit is in response, of course, to the city of Austin's appropriating I think it was like 400 grand for the city's 2024 to 2025 reproductive health grant, which, by the way, I've had people legitimately tell me that's not that much money, michael $400,000 in the grand scheme of things, like they're spending millions on this and billions on that, why do we care about $400,000? But watch, I'll word it like this and you'll change your mind. Do you think we should be spending $400,000 that you as a person are paying to make sure that kids can be murdered? Women can travel to go kill their kids. You think that's a good thing? Oh yeah, so this lawsuit is good, as it turns out. Uh, the funds are intended to support austinites traveling to access abortions, including, by the way, the support for airfare uh, gas reimbursements, hotel stays, ride reimbursements like with uber or taxi system child care stipends uh, companion travel and food. So it just covers the whole cost of you traveling to go get an abortion power to authorize any county, city, town or other political corporation or subdivision of the state to lend its credit to or grant to public money or thing of value and aid of or to any individual whatsoever. Here's here's better wording. That here's what paxton said.

Speaker 4:

Quote no city in texas has the authority to spend taxpayer money in this manner. In this case, the city of austin is illegally seeking to use public funding to support travel expenses for out-of-state abortions. The Texas Constitution prohibits government entities from doing so. The Human Life Protection Act, which prohibits abortion, is also mentioned in the suit. The act states that a person may not knowingly perform, induce or attempt an abortion. The suit claims that the city of Boston's allocations for abortion travel violate the Texas Constitution by aiding in the logistical support of abortions which are unlawful in Texas. Paxton claims another violation is that there is not a clear public benefit in funding mothers travel out of state to abort their unborn children. Quote Austin should not pay to kill its own innocent citizens, nor should taxpayers be forced to participate in the violence. That's from Kimberlyn Schwartz. She's a spokesperson for Texas Right to Life. She said the city should help new mothers by supporting pregnancy resource centers providing life-affirming resources to mothers and children, rather than ending the lives of the most defenseless within their communities.

Speaker 4:

Paxton also said I've said abortions are a growing threat to the Texas legislature and must be addressed in 2025. We are grateful for taking this important step forward to protect pre-born children. We are grateful for taking this important step forward to protect pre-born children. So he's requesting a temporary and permanent injunction to halt the city of Austin and any of its officials from sending taxpayer money on facilitating out-of-state abortions. He's also requested an declaration saying that the city's actions violated the state's constitution's gift clause. Keep in mind that just I think last month, so August. We're in October, so I'm going to have to stop saying last month tomorrow. So, but still technically last month, the former council member there in Austin his name was Don Zimmerman. He also sued the city over the fund.

Speaker 4:

So this has been kind of a big hot mess, which it's destined to be when you allocate taxpayer money to pay for child murder, like if you think that's just going to go over, well, and it is what it is, and people are just going to kind of look at it, sigh and move on. That's not going to be the case, mainly because we love kids, mainly because we hate murder, mainly because, when you combine those two things, we especially hate the murder of children, especially the most defenseless children. And so what Ken Jackson is doing here is absolutely fantastic. It's also absolutely necessary, and even if you are a pro-choice person, unless you're pro-abortion, unless you are pro-abortion, this just makes absolutely. This is evil, it makes no sense. At no other point would the answer to this problem be oh yeah, let's pay the travel expenses for someone to go kill a child was mentioned.

Speaker 4:

There are actually much better solutions, like, if you actually believe that it is the duty of the state, which it's not but if you believe that it's the duty of the state to do their best to take care of single mothers financially, the best way they could help is by giving money to pregnancy help centers. It is by ensuring that mothers have a way to get diapers, if need be, to get formula, to get car seats, to get these sorts of. That is far more helpful than paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to cover travel stipends to go get an abortion out of state. So, apart from just the unconstitutionality, apart from just the fact that it is inherently evil, it's also, again, super ineffective If you think in any regard that paying for women to go get abortions out of state is going to have any significant impact on women's quality of life. You are sorely mistaken.

Speaker 4:

Every statistic ever taken shows that women who get abortions are actually far more depressed than women who chose to keep their baby. That, even when it's hard, even if they choose adoption, even if it's very difficult because they choose to keep the baby, that women who choose life are always better off, in addition to the baby and in addition, apparently, to the taxpayer who's now trying, they're trying to force you to cover this burden, and so it's another one of those instances where it's tyranny for the sake of tyranny, because not only is it wrong but it's ineffective. It reminds you of anything else, maybe something like something else they really want to regulate, like guns, gun-free zones. Not only is it immoral to have them, not only is it unconstitutional to have them, but it's also ineffective, because anytime a criminal that's willing to carry an illegal firearm hears there's a place where there will be no firearms to stop them, that's going to be the first place they go, and that's why our sponsor, gun Owners of America, is dedicated specifically to ending these sorts of problems, ending things that are both unconstitutional, immoral and ineffective, like gun-free zones, like the increase everyone's been seeing in carry regulations, like the fact that constitutional carry, by the way, is a right you have and one that they have just convinced you you shouldn't have.

Speaker 4:

Like when constitutional carry first started moving around, people were like shocked. They were like, wow, this is great, but wow, this is a huge step. And it's like no, this is just the very base limit of what is true, which is that you have a right under the Constitution specifically to carry, and that no license or lack of a license in any way should be able to stop you from carrying. Should you get the license? That's a conversation. Should you make sure you're well-trained Conversation. Should you be required to by the government to own a firearm? Absolutely not, and that's why Gun Owners of America is in the fight, because they look at all of these different things. They say they're ineffective, they're stupid and they're wrong.

Speaker 4:

And we need a grassroots organization, we need a gun advocacy group that is actively fighting every single day for you, that is actively fighting for us to ensure that our rights are not diminished but are actually protected more than they are today, not less Going into tomorrow. We want more rights, not less of them, and that means joining and becoming a member of Gun Owners of America. For just $25 a year, you can become a member, you can support the fight, you can be a part of a reason, you can be a legitimate part of the reason why our rights stay intact. That's $25 a year. You can go to gunownersorg to become a member. That's gunownersorg. I highly recommend it because, truly, gun Owners of America is the best gun advocacy group in the country.

Speaker 4:

Speaker 4:

Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. Before we jump into this story out of El Paso, I was just sent um. I was just someone just texted in. Someone sent in a link to the Hattie law firm uh attorneys at law website and an article they posted Uh, if you want to text in yourself, the number is 713-779-5978. That is 713-779-KYST. Here's what it says. Were you harmed by Antonio Scaliwag aka Taral Vapol Patel? We've got your back. If you've been affected by the actions of Antonio Scaliwag, also known as Taral Vapol Patel, you're not alone.

Speaker 4:

Recent events have shed light on numerous allegations against Patel, including online impersonation and harassment. These serious offenses have led to Patel's arrest and legal action against him. His actions, such as creating false social media profiles to defraud, intimidate or threaten others, can cause significant emotional distress, including depression and anxiety. They link multiple arrest warrants and search warrants and indictments. They talk about KP George and then they say this. They say Taral Vapool Patel, aka Antonio Scaliwag, is nothing short of a disgrace to the Democratic Party. Considering the accusations and the compelling proof outlined in the search warrants, his actions have not only harmed individuals, but also tainted the integrity of the political landscape. His deceitful tactics, including online impersonation and harassment are unacceptable and go against the values of honesty and transparency that we uphold. Harassment can wreak havoc on your mental health and well-being. You're suffering from depression, anxiety or other distress due to someone's malicious actions. We have the right to seek justice. We're here to help you do just that. Patel use patel's use of the persona antonio scallywag to create harmful online content against individuals highlights the severity of his misconduct. So absolutely based, absolutely based statements coming out of that law firm hattie law firm makes me want to make sure that they're my lawyers. I just I love it.

Speaker 4:

It's true, by the way, that the same people who are the party of tolerance, the same people that are party of inclusivity, have to lie and defraud people in order to make it even slightly believable that we're the ones doing it right. It's literally the digital version of Jussie Smollett. It's the oh, this is MAGA. Country. And then they wrapped a noose around my neck and then they just left for no apparent reason. And then it all turns out that it was a lie, every last bit of it, down to the details. It's the same thing with this guy.

Speaker 4:

Patel, running for county commissioner down in Fort Bend County, is a psycho who got caught faking racism and and he was harassing people and whatever. He got caught and he's still running. There's been no like apology, but it is. It is. It has tainted the political landscape. Now obviously they try to say it tainted the democrat party. That was tainted decades ago, nothing much to be done about it now. But the reality is that this is where it's headed. It's headed towards a bunch of liars, a bunch of fraudsters, with the express intent to lie to win. Cheat to win is essentially what it is, and I think people are sick and tired of that. So I hope he does not win.

Speaker 4:

Now let's jump into the story out of El Paso. So an El Paso teacher accused of sexually grooming and abusing a 12-year-old student Was arrested twice in one week by Socorro Independent School District Police and charged with multiple felony sex crimes. Now you'd probably think you hear that and you're like was it the same arrest that actually had two charges? No, he was actually arrested more than once. Explicit text messages found on the student's phone allegedly show the teacher telling the girl he wanted to treat her. This is going to be graphics If have kids cover their ears, but this is important. He wanted to treat her like a quote-unquote sex slave.

Speaker 4:

Lohan almarez, 28, has taught math at clark middle school in socorro, isd since 2021, so he's been there for three years. District police first arrested him on september 13th, so it would have been a few weeks ago. He was charged with one count each of child grooming, an improper relationship between educator and student, and two counts each of indecency with a child and sexual performance by a child. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail and released on bond totaling $150,000. Then he was arrested again for a second time on September 20th and charged with two counts of online solicitation of a minor. He was then again booked into jail and then released on bond totaling $80,000.

Speaker 4:

The El Paso Times reported that, according to a complaint affidavit, the school principal told Socorro ISD police on August 28th that Alvarez had been improperly communicating with a female student in his class. The affidavit also revealed the alleged victim stated during a forensic interview that she met him around October 2023 during volleyball season, when she was 12 years old. The girl said she first connected with her teacher through SportsU, an app used for communication between school coaches, student-athletes and parents. Then by telephone calls and text messages, the victim told investigators she and Alvarez met twice in June at an apartment complex where she and her mother lived. She alleged they kissed and touched in the backseat of his truck and Alvarez exposed himself and forced her to perform. Well, I think you get the gist. The victim's mother told investigators that Alvarez sent her daughter pictures of again you can guess, pictures of the girl that he wanted to do what I already told you, and also said that he wanted to get her pregnant. Investigators searched the victim's phone and found explicit text messages from a phone number belonging to Almaraz, some describing sexual acts he wanted to perform, as well as money transfers from him to the girl. The victim's mother also said Almaraz bought gifts for her daughter. A former student of Almaraz told investigators he had messaged her via SportsU, given her gifts and called her his number one. The girl said she felt she was being groomed and stopped communicating with him. Smart girl Decor ISD released a brief statement indicating that Alvarez is on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing, adding we are unable to release any information at this time.

Speaker 4:

State records show Alvarez was certified to teach math in May of 2021. His educator certificate remains valid, but indicates he's under review by the texas education agency. Yeah, go figure, I can't. I can't understand why he's only on administrative leave, as if there's going to backlash. If he ends up being innocent, like it's time to get rid of the guy. And clearly there's a serious problem when you have multiple victims. You have two arrests in a week. There's clearly a very, very serious problem in some of your employees and I think that administrative lead is far too kind.

Speaker 4:

But it jumps into a couple of other points that I want to make. The first is why in the world and maybe I'm just not well-versed Again there are things that come with age and experience that I don't yet have, and so I'm not perfect. I don't know everything. I would encourage you, if you disagree with me, to text in in that number 713-779-5978. That's 713-779-KYSD. If you disagree with me, let me know because I might be wrong. I've been known to be wrong before because I'm a human being and I make mistakes and there's things that I'm not aware of.

Speaker 4:

But the reality is that, as far as I can tell right now, I think that the entire concept of a bond is ludicrous and the reason I say that is basically so. We believe you've done this really awful thing. We believe that you've really hurt people. But if you give us enough money while we wait to prove it, you're welcome to go out and do whatever you want. That obviously could and in this case probably welcome to go out and do whatever you want. That obviously could and in this case probably did include going out and doing the same thing again, hurting more people. Right?

Speaker 4:

Bond just doesn't make any sense to me. It's like it'd be one thing if it was earned, like parole. It would be one thing. It was like good behavior be one thing if it was during everyone's processing, that they're allowed out until they're proven guilty. You could make the argument a lot of libertarians do Innocent until proven guilty means there's no jail at all, that they wait for court. But that's not the argument.

Speaker 4:

The argument here is whether or not we should have a bond set. In other words, do you think it's moral for there to be an amount of money you can pay to get out? It's a get out of jail card if you make enough money or if you're able to get access to enough money. To me, that just doesn't make any sense, kind of like speeding tickets have never made any sense to me. It's a similar thing. It's like OK.

Speaker 4:

So the punishment? Because you're alleging, obviously, if I'm speeding that I'm putting people in danger. The punishment for putting people in danger is that I have to pay money. That definitely sounds like extortion to me, and it's the old quote. It says if the punishment for a crime is money, then it's only a crime for people who don't make a lot. Right, like any crime that is money-based, as recompense is automatically weaponized against the working class.

Speaker 4:

So I've never been a fan of these sorts of policies that are like just pay us money and we'll figure it out. Like, well, if you get a speeding ticket, you just get you got to pay the money. Well, if you a fantastic example. I got a ticket in Louisiana a couple of weeks ago and, by the way, it was absolutely ridiculous. It was the only example I can ever think of where, if you were a good police officer, the answer should have genuinely been a warning, like, if any instance ever to hand out a warning. This was it, and this guy didn't, and he even admitted to me. And this guy didn't, and he even admitted to me. He said we're giving out tickets today as if there was some preconceived plan to unconstitutionally make quotas happen or something.

Speaker 4:

The thing I'm trying to get at here is I was offered the moment I called the court. They offered that if I was willing to pay the money, I could pay off the ticket and buy the driver course that I could complete automatically and it would not be on my record. Can? Does that sound a little bit like bribery to you, to anybody else? Like I'm glad that's an option because it's better than the alternative of having it on my record, but at the same time, it's like so we're giving you this ticket because we're giving out tickets to make money, and if you pay a little bit more money, uh, we'll wipe it clean If you want to, you want to fork some more over, and it's it's. It's ridiculous, in the same way, setting this guy's bond at 150,000, all it did was he had enough money or he got whatever, and he paid it and then he went and hurt someone else allegedly, and that's that's the problem with the system. That's, that's what we've, that's what we fostered.

Speaker 4:

The second thing and this is the same thing I always say in general when it comes to these sorts of stories is why are you, why are your kids in public school? Like, why are your kids in public school. If you go to TexasCoreCardcom and you find any article they've posted about anything to do with sexual abuse in the state of Texas, they've now started linking at the bottom of these sorts of articles. If you go down there you can legitimately find a map that has the different schools that have that have these things have allegedly been happening in, and you'll notice there's a lot of them and they're all over the state. They're widespread and that's in a. This is objectively one of the best states.

Speaker 4:

So the problem is that if you have your kids in public school, the list of problems is very long. The list of benefits is nearly non-existent. You could say education is the benefit, but they're barely getting that. If if in fact I think that actually there, there actually is an argument made that your kids, by going to public school, are dumber than they'd be if they basically raised themselves that they're actually, they're actually killing their brain cells at public school. And so the question I would pose to you is why are your kids in public school? Because not only are they not getting good grades, not only are they not learning, not only are you basically guaranteed they're going to be indoctrinated by some sort of stuff in the curriculum. Not only are you guaranteeing that you have no impact over the way that your kids are raised, what they believe going into adulthood, that you are basically handing them off to the government saying do your worst, but on top of that, your kids are just genuinely physically unsafe. Like this is the kind of stuff that goes on, which leads to my third and final point, and it has to do the same thing.

Speaker 4:

Why are kids in public school? It's the same line of thinking, but why in the world are our parents just letting their kids have a 12 year old girl have access to things that their parents aren't seeing on her phone, like why is this? Why is that happening? Why is there a universe where there's even the capability of your 12-year-old daughter having a sexual relationship through phone with a teacher? How is that happening under your watch? And so, in addition to the fact that your kids are in public school, where you are giving them off, well, now they're also digitally online and whether it's a teacher, whether it's a different predator, maybe it's someone their age they're sneaking out with.

Speaker 4:

Regardless of who it is they are, they are in perfect positions for predators. They are the easy prey. They're, they're, they're the little hanging fruit, because they're not. They're not grown up enough to understand the problems and the implications a lot of times and you're not watching out for your own children, so you're setting them up for this sort of you're setting them up for failure. You're setting them up for this sort of situation and I'm sick and tired of seeing it, because every single day almost, there's a story from somewhere about how another student just failed out, another student had this problem, another student was sexually assaulted by a teacher time and time and time again, and it's like how long is it going to take for parents to wake up to realize this actually is a systemic problem? How long is it going to take for parents to wake up and say, actually, maybe I should have more of a say in my children's education, in my children's system, even if I'm not homeschooling them in where they are and who they're around and what they're doing when they get home on their phones? These are all things parents really need to be thinking about very clearly and coming to conclusions about.

Speaker 4:

Now, when we get back from the break, we're going to jump into a story from Hood County commissioners and how they approved. Well, we'll get into it. Listen, y'all you know, every time I read a story about anything to do with taxes, we automatically assume it's an increase, maybe it's a decrease, maybe it's the same, whatever, whatever the case is one thing all these stories have in common every single one, basically across the board board, other than very, very rare occasions is that in some regard, you're being taxed, you're going to be taxed, probably higher, and, to be completely honest with you, that's a drawback. But listen, there's always a bright side. This is something my mother taught me and scripture. This is something my mother taught me and scripture. There is always a bright side that you get to choose how you look at things, the perspective that you take. You can choose to wallow in it. You can choose to only see the negative and only be reactionary, or you can choose to see that there's a bright side to everything. Right, I'll give you an example If you're being taxed, it means you're making money, it means you have money. Now, sure, again, there's a bunch of negatives, but I'm saying, focus on the positive. The positive is you have money, and an extension of that, a logical extension, is that if you have money, you have to store it, which is why you should join with our sponsor, old Glory Bank.

Speaker 4:

You see, old Glory Bank is dedicated to the preservation of American values. That's where their heart is. That's where their heart is, that's where their soul is. That's what they believe in. That's something you're just not going to find elsewhere. Is that level of intentionality in the care from their customer service towards the extra offerings they have for military first responders, veterans and the like, for all these various reasons, their own ideologies? When it comes to American values, it is very obvious that they care actively about the people who bank with them. That right, there is the reason to join. Member FDIC Equal Housing Lender. Terms and conditions apply. Now let's see what this is about. So Hood County officials voted 3-1 to keep spending in check and spare residents for a property tax increase. You assumed it was going to be a raise of it, but you know, here we are. Blessings still do happen. There are miracles.

Speaker 4:

During a meeting late last week, hood county commissioner's court members approved a budget based on the taxpayer-friendly, no new revenue tax. The uh, the nr rate raises the same amount as the property's tax the previous year, offsetting rising property values and keeping tax bills flat. In the aggregate, any rate above the nr rate is a tax increase. Hood kenny's author auditor calculated the average homeowner's county tax bill will decrease by about $38. The county will still collect more money than last year as additional revenue comes from new properties added to the tax rolls, but the burden individually will be less.

Speaker 4:

Commissioners Kevin Andrews, dave Eagle and Nanette Samuelson voted in favor of the known revenue rate, while Hood County Judge Ron Massengill opposed giving taxpayers a break. Commissioner Jack Wilson was not present. Judge Massengill argued for a modest 5.7 percent tax increase. What he calls modest, those are not my words, those are judge massingill's words. But he called a modest 5.7 percent tax rate increase. That, he said, would cost the average homeowner about 12 and add 1.4 million dollars to the county's fund balance. Really, is anybody really going to know that that's kind of a small price to pay to have some extra money, not really knowing what's going to happen in November? A small price to pay to have some extra money? You mean for you, sir, to have extra money, not for the taxpayers, because you're taking it from them. Really, is anybody going to really know that that's kind of a small price to pay to have some extra money? That's what he's saying. Those are his words. Are they really going to notice if we tax it harder, if we make them work even more to make ends meet? Massingill's motion did not even receive a second.

Speaker 4:

Commissioner Nanette Samuelson noted that the county has a fund balance well above the amount required by policy. We have an opportunity to give that money back to the taxpayers. We shouldn't be holding on to that money just for the purpose of holding on to it. I wholeheartedly agree. That's the case. That's the job of government is to best look out for its citizens.

Speaker 4:

They try to argue sometimes well, the best way to look out is to make sure we have enough money to make sure we're doing all these things. Yeah, but you're doing that at the actual expense of the people. Like, I think it's great that you're trying to do these helpful, nice little side projects, fantastic. But if it's costing taxpayers so much money that they're barely say, well, it's only this little amount, they should be totally fine, grow up. That is not helping and it's not. It is not what elected representatives are here to do. Now we get back from the break. At the top of the hour, we're going to talk about how base Texas law enforcement is and how they've basically just rid an entire border island of all cartel activity. But you'll have to wait for that story because, well, I'm Michael.

Speaker 1:

Wilson, You're listening to Lone Star Conservative and I'll be right back From deep in the heart of Texas from Houston's God-loving patriot and the voice of reason. This is the Lone Star Conservative Michael Wilson.

Speaker 4:

I'm a pendant you're a gentlemen to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host. Michael Wilson, it's good to be with you this morning. Hope your weekend was a very blessed weekend, hope you had a good time, hope you got done the things you did and I hope that you stayed safe.

Speaker 4:

If you're listening from another state, like somewhere over in the Carolinas Florida, georgia, alabama or Tennessee, virginia there's been a lot of wreckage over there. We talked about it in the last segment, but again, thoughts and prayers go out to everyone over in that area. They were devastatingly hit by Hurricane Helene. It was an incredibly rough time, rougher than anyone could have ever imagined, and our hearts go out to them because we, especially as Houstonians, are well aware of the difficulties that come with storms like these, aware of the difficulties that come with storms like these. Now, I can't remember the last time I was not alive, the last time that something did the type of damage that Hurricane Helene did to North Carolina alone. But we do have a lot of experience in that field, with losing our power, with struggling with flooding, with all sorts of problems. So our hearts go out to you. The weather here is beautiful, as beautiful as we could expect it to be. In Texas, south Texas. The sun is coming up, so that's a positive. Now it's coming up to make the whole part of here 96 degrees later, so maybe that's not quite a positive, but the sun is coming up. So look at the right side. Pun intended, intended.

Speaker 4:

Now I want to jump into this story from texas law enforcement. Uh, because a lot of times the stuff we see on the border has been, uh, very demoralizing. It's been very difficult to watch for years. Um, kind of like that spurt the texans went through. Don't stone me for that one, though they're doing much better now. I went to a game yesterday. We beat, we won, obviously we won, though it was terrifyingly close. We had, I think, 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter when we got our last touchdown. So go us, go Texans. But yeah, the border has been a big issue for a long time and Texas has finally taken it upon herself to really ramp it up. You'll notice that most of these stories about ridding the cartel, about dealing with the gangs, about handling the actual wall itself, a lot of the stories you'll notice are Texas-specific, and I don't mean like they're focused on Texas, I mean they're coming from Texas, like the walls being built by Texas and our specific money. Right Like, this story is about Texas law enforcement specifically. So here it is.

Speaker 4:

Texas has successfully curtailed presence and criminal activity on an uninhabited border island after declaring it state property last year. Fronten Island, located in Starr County and sitting at the Rio Grande, was once a hotspot for cartel activity as part of Operation Lone Star. Texas law enforcement cleared it out, said that due to the combined efforts of the General Land Office, land Commissioner Don Buckingham, texas DPS and the Texas National Guard, human smuggling and other criminal enterprises that once flourished on the island have come to an abrupt halt. Quote. The 170-acre island has been a foothold for the Mexican cartels to carry out their criminal activities human and drug smuggling for decades. Texas declared the island to be state property last year and since then the Texas National Guard and EPS have been patrolling the plot of land near the city of Roma. Quote. A year later, there hasn't been any activity at all on this side of the island. There are still cartel shootings that are taking place on the Mexican side. I wonder why that is.

Speaker 4:

Earlier this month, the federal government demanded that Texas return the island to its land, while managing the cleanup of the island and facilitating security. In response, governor Greg Abbott blasted the federal government in a letter. You are either unaware of or indifferent to what those pre-construction conditions were. I will not cede state land to transnational criminal cartels smuggling people, weapons and drugs, nor will I sit idly by as these threats endanger Texas law enforcement and Texas communities. I think we need a lot more of that brazen courage if we're going to have any shot at winning.

Speaker 4:

Anything and this is what I've said a lot over the past few years that people are kind of waking up to is what rhinos really are Now. Some of them are actual deep state cabal members right, obviously, some of them actually are. They do actively hate you. But a lot of these a lot at least of a lot of what we consider to be rhinos I believe personally that a lot of them are just weak. They're cowards, they're afraid of confrontation, they're afraid of honesty, they're afraid of accountability and transparency and they're afraid of standing up for the truth.

Speaker 4:

And if we're going to win, we have to be willing and able to say things like this. We have to be able to come out and say I'm not going to cede state land to you. I am unwilling to do that, regardless of what you request of me, because this is a threat to us and we're fed up with it. We're fed up with you absolutely refusing to do your job, and so we're going to do it for you, because this is what we've been tasked with and this is what we've had to resort to. It's the same thing with Operation Lone Star in general.

Speaker 4:

Keep in mind that the number of times that the Harris-Biden administration has actively sued Texas because we've set up a wall or put up buoys or put up razor wire, the number of times they've sued us and tried to just completely eradicate any hope we have of sealing our border, is it's one of those enough said moments? Any hope we have of sealing our border? Is it's one of those enough said moments, sort of those moments where, if you're paying attention, you look and you realize okay. So basically, the federal government. It's one of two things either they absolutely despise you or they want voters. More than likely, it's actually both of those options. They do despise you. They also want new voters, uh, which they and they've started admitting with the us citizenship act, with kamala saying that there needs to be a path of citizenship for everyone here. Those sorts of statements are indicative of that truth, that they want new voters and that they don't like you.

Speaker 4:

And so what we had to do at some point was we had to develop the stones, we had to develop the courage to look at the vast expanse of problematic issues that are coming out of the border and say look, if the federal government is not going to do its job of which there's not very many jobs to do then it's our turn. We're going to do it, and if they try to sue us, we don't care. If they try to tell us to stop, we don't care, because you know what? Actually, what we should care about is our families, is our communities, is our culture, is our binding beliefs and ideologies, our values. Those things actually matter.

Speaker 4:

Letting in unmitigated illegal immigration is not that at all. It's a slap in the face, especially when you keep in mind, like with this island specifically, it's not just illegal immigration, it's not just this. These are violent criminals, these are cartel members who are actively running, you know, human smuggling, drugs, drugs slavery, sex slavery, child sex slavery. That is what's happening on these sorts of islands. And so Texas had enough. And Texas said actually we're going to put something up there, because it should not be happening that illegal immigrants are able to just waltz in with no repercussions and cause unfathomable pain to communities For hitting close to home. Remember, do not forget, jocelyn Nungare and what that poor girl went through because of the absolute horrible policies of the Harris-Spine administration and their absolute and total refusal to even consider allowing Texas to do it for them. It wasn't just a we can't do that, we don't want to do that, it was an active stopping us of doing it too.

Speaker 4:

And I think people are waking up to that. I think people are willing, that they're at a point now where they're willing to have that courage. They're at a point now where they're willing to stop standing on the sidelines and start playing the game and saying, no, we're not doing this. Speaking of people standing up, not being on the sidelines but actually getting rejected nonetheless. This is pretty crazy. It's coming out of Denton. So Denton City Council members voted four to two, four to two to reject a conservative nominee for the city's library board, with one democrat councilman calling her a book banner.

Speaker 4:

Now we all know if, if someone says that you want to ban books, or if someone calls you a book banner. They've already lost the argument. They know that you're probably going to beat them in the argument, but also keep in mind what they're also doing is that they're actively lying, because not a single state and not a single person in any mainstream forum is calling for book banning. Nobody is calling for book banning, not anyone in any prominent position. Instead, what we're calling for is taking those books specifically out of libraries, school libraries and in positions where they're easily accessible by children. That's not banning. That's like saying we want to ban R-rated movies because we say that you should have to have an ID to get into the movie theater to watch them. Oh wait, we do that right. It's like saying to get into the movie theater to watch them oh wait, we do that right. It's like saying we want to. It's just a lie. It's a lying, deceptive tactic designed to make us sound like Nazis, when the reality is we just don't want our kids reading porn. Those are very different things and when you word them that way, you can tell they're very different things. But the left doesn't do that. Instead, they lie, they deceive and they say oh, she's a book banner.

Speaker 4:

So during a special city council meeting, mayor Gerard Hudspeth nominated conservative activist Debbie Skaggs to serve on the seven-member Denton Library Board. Mayor Hudspeth and Councilmember Joe Holland voted to approve Skaggs, while Councilmembers Brian Beck, vicki Byrd, paul Meltzer and Brandon McGee voted against her. Beck, who supports Democrat candidates and causes, objected to Skaggs' nomination, saying he found it troubling, problematic and even potentially dangerous, especially to vulnerable communities. I wish I there are many times where in this profession I wish I could. Just I just wish I could have five minutes in a room with this guy, not even for the reason you think. I just want to ask him questions and see what he's thinking when he says that, like I would like to ask him. So can you explain to me what the potentially dangerous? Because the way you're wording it makes it sound like your physical safety is in danger. What is the potentially dangerous facts that are problematic about this woman? And they couldn't give you a straightforward answer. They literally can't, because there isn't. It's just a fear-mongering tactic of again lying. So before the meeting, beck had complained about Skaggs in a post on his official Facebook page.

Speaker 4:

Claiming her challenges to books with inappropriate content made her a book banner Quote. I find it sad that nonpartisan politicians are very, very partisan. That's from a statement posted on social media following the vote to keep her off the board. Quote because I believe in protecting our children from sexually explicit and vulgar content, I'm deemed a radical. She's a mother and grandmother who lived in denton since 1979 and raised five children in the city. She says her family frequently visited denton's public libraries over the years. Recently she's been sounding the alarm about sexually explicit and age-inappropriate books found in the city's three public libraries and the Denton School District's campus libraries. She also ran for school board in May. Mayor Hemsworth nominated her after she brought the book let's Talk About it to the city council's attention back in July.

Speaker 4:

The book is essentially filled with the stuff that we've come to expect from these sorts of books. You could probably guess it's just it's filled with graphic illustrations and descriptions of you know, you know all of that stuff. Sexual activities encourages minors to explore things. Um quote there's nothing wrong with enjoying some porn. It's a fun, sugary treat. That's from the book that is in kids' libraries, on page 165.

Speaker 4:

The book's pictures were so explicit that Skaggs was instructed to cover them at the meeting so they would not be visible to the public. And yet this is the garbage they want your kids to actively read and enjoy. Skaggs had asked the city librarian to move the book from the teen section, which targets readers ages 11 to 17, to the adult section, where it would be less acceptable to children, accessible to children. When the librarian refused, skaggs appealed to the city council.

Speaker 4:

Hudspeth shared Skaggs' concerns, but council members like Beck wanted the book to stay accessible to young readers. It's like they're giving themselves away. You wanted the book like. They admit it, like yes, we understand that we're having to cover the images for the livestream because we can't air that. Yes, we understand that we're going to have you cover up the book because it's not appropriate for a gathering of parents, but apparently it's appropriate for the students. That's what they always give themselves away, every single time.

Speaker 4:

These people are so obviously predators Even if I don't mean that in that they're going to actively commit sexual assault against a minder. These people are predators. If you want these sorts of books that have this super graphic content and terrible advice for kids to stay accessible to young readers, you have a genuine problem. He claimed that Skaggs refuses to follow library science best practice and wants libraries to remove books for unconstitutional grounds. No, she wants to remove books because there is no constitutional protection for a child to read school-provided pornography. That's actually the reason. So during the meeting, Hunspeth defended Skaggs as a qualified candidate for the position, but a majority of council members unfortunately sided with Beck Quote.

Speaker 4:

I answered the call to be a volunteer, along with six other citizens on the denton library board. I would be one vote on a board of seven. Why are some especially councilman back who has belittled me on social media so reluctant to having all voices in the city represented? Isn't diversity the value that is uplifted in the city, or is it only voices that agree? Is it only voices some agree? Uh, is it only voices some agree with that are valued back. A former instructor at texas women's university nominated twu assistant professor carol howard to serve on the library board.

Speaker 4:

Harrod told local media earlier this year that he supports kids having freedom to read what they want and believes book challenges and laws to keep sexually explicit materials out of school libraries are censorship. That's it's not like this. Is the party that actively covered up multiple stories in order, and laws to keep sexually explicit materials out of school libraries are censorship. It's not like this. Is the party that actively covered up multiple stories in order to win elections. No, it's censorship when you don't want your child watching porn. Apparently, herod told local media that, basically, it's all about freedom. The answer is freedom, that we just need more freedom. The problem is, as I've mentioned a billion different times, that freedom is not the end-all, be-all, not the only goal of a good government, that freedom results in child slave wages. Freedom can result in bad things too. You use freedom as a gate to convincing people that it is totally acceptable for a child to have porn books in school. We know what kind of person you are, skaggsworth.

Speaker 4:

That she believes the community has a role in protecting children from harmful materials said. While I'm a firm believer in parents' rights, I also feel society, and particularly taxpayer-funded facilities, should play a part in protecting our children from harm. That is one reason I have challenged books at the public school that they were sexually explicit or educationally unsuitable. It is like the policy of Texas to keep educational materials that are obscene, vulgar and educationally unsuitable out of publicly funded schools. Of the 82 books that have been reviewed by the schools, 37 were removed due to being sexually explicit or educationally unsuitable and 24 were placed in parent permission. Only, skaggs concluded.

Speaker 4:

Quote today in denton, texas, a mother and grandmother was told your conservative values are not welcome here. So much for the diversity and inclusivity. Listen, I could have told you that that was going to be the case. The people that that constantly say that they're inclusive and tolerant are the people that are the biggest projectors, because even Karl Marx, who claimed to be Mr Tolerance, himself admitted that if you believe in tolerance, you inherently have to, at times, be intolerant. That that's the only option, and that's not who these people are. They claim it's in the spirit of being generous, being diverse, being inclusive, being tolerant, but the reality is that these people want your kids to read porn and they don't want you in any regard to try and stop them, and if you do, they call you names, they vote you out, and there's literally nothing you can do other than pull your kids out of school.

Speaker 4:

So that, to be quite honest, as you are probably all well aware by now is the best option is just to pull your kids out of the public school before it's too late for them, because this is what's going on there. This is the type of stuff that's constantly going on in some public schools. This is the fights that are going on, and it's no coincidence that they're unwilling to even have a conservative on the board at all, because they're scared that she might fight to ban pornography in front of little children. It's Now, when we get back from the break, we're going to have a story coming out from right here in Texas, specifically another one of those moments where Ken Paxton has done an absolutely base thing and he's gone and he sued the Biden-Harris administration for something else. This one has to do with gender dysphoria, has to do with mental problems, has to do with all that good stuff. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative.

Speaker 2:

Stick around, because this lawsuit is fresh and we're going to be right back.

God bless you and God bless America.

Speaker 4:

And God bless America to be a lot more continually, a lot more exponentially. More lawsuits from texas, because she's going to do crazy things, and I know it. Attorney general jen paxton is suing the biden harris administration to stop a new regulation that would rewrite federal disability law to include quote gender dysphoria. Paxton, alongside the states of alaska, alabama, arkansas, florida, georgia, indiana, iowa, kansas, louisiana, missouri, montana, nebraska, south carolina, south dakota, utah and and West Virginia, filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Health and Human Services and Secretary Xavier Becerra to block a new rule that they saw that they say unlawfully attempts to contort federal disability law to list gender dysphoria as a disability. Finalized a new rule in May of 2024, which would upend federal disability law by adding gender dysphoria to the definition of disability under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. The act protects qualified individuals from discrimination based on their disability. Under the law, individuals with disabilities are defined as persons with a physical or major or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities. Employers that receive financial assistance from any federal department or agency, like the DHHS, are forbidden to exclude or deny individuals with disabilities an unequal opportunity to receive program benefits and services. The Bionaires Administration published the final rule to assert that gender dysphoria may be considered a physical or mental impairment, which is absolutely crazy. They said that it's entitled to protection, though federal law excludes specifically transvestism, transsexualism and other gender identity disorders from being classified as disabilities. It's already in the law Pacts in the 60 other states claim that the final rules requirement is that gender dysphoria be considered a disability is contrary to the express language in the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA.

Speaker 4:

Additionally, they say that the rule is capricious and arbitrary due to the fact that the DHS failed to conduct a meaningful inquiry into the cost to states and that it has created conflicting obligations and permission structures between different federal agencies. It prevents states from innovating and improving their service delivery systems and created a regime that is close to impossible for any state to fully comply with. The plaintiffs are asking that the court issue permanent injunctive relief in joining the HHS from enforcing the final rule, declare the rule violates the Administrative Procedure Act and then, after those things, declare the rule unlawful. Quote the Biden administration is once again abusing executive action to sidestep federal law and force unscientific, unfounded gender ideology onto the public. Texas is suing because HHS has no authority to unilaterally rewrite statutory definitions and classify gender dysphoria as a disability.

Speaker 4:

Now I could go in to the ridiculousness of this. In the first place, it is not a disability to be born with serious, evil sexual fetishes. It's not a disability. I'm sorry you cannot convince me that you are disabled, because that's something that you're into, and if anyone's upset at me for saying it's a sexual fetish, actually, michael, it has nothing to do with sexual. It's just the way they were. They can't help it. Yes, no, it is.

Speaker 4:

This is why you always say that these people are like posting about the fact that it makes them feel good, and they talk about what kind of good it makes them feel. It always comes back to the same conversation, which is that this is a choice. They're choosing to be crazy because it's popular, because it's fun, because it gives them attention, because it hits their dopamine cortex and gives them a good time. That's why they do it. They seek attention, and so for you to label that a disability, I could go into the amount of crazy that is, but it's also worth noting that yet again, yet again, we are having to sue the federal government because they just can't do anything right under Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, they legitimately can't do anything right, and that's why us and 16 states, 16 other states are saying that it violates.

Speaker 4:

It really is, it's unconstitutional. And so, again, bright side to every coin is we're probably going to win. We're yet again taking on Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Ken Paxton is sick and tired, as are every single one of us, that we're still having to fight tooth and nail for the most basic biological truths. But that's where we're at. That's exactly. What it is is that they want to confuse people and they want to lie about it. They want to cause these sorts of problems because they like to lie, they like to speak untruth, which is why they're going to tell you well, you don't have a right to that, we're going to use an executive order. So they're like OK, I use an executive order to force a mandatory buyback program, which, by the way, is Kamala Harris's policy and also PSA Joe Biden, despite his absolute lunacy, even he admitted during the debates you can't do that. You cannot use an executive order. And you know what her retort was you cannot use an executive order. And you know what her retort was In classic, very intelligent Kamala Harris language. She says, instead of saying no, we can't, joe say, yes, we can. Yes, we can violate the Constitution with an executive order. That's obviously true, and the scariest part of all of it is that these sorts of things are things that they actually want to do and, if she gets elected, may actually try to do, which is why it is so pertinent right now that you become a member at our sponsor, gun Owners of America.

Speaker 4:

Gun Owners of America is watching all of this. They're seeing exactly what the Biden administration is doing on multiple fronts, but especially when it comes to the Second Amendment, how what they explicitly want is to try to convince you we, we love we're gun turn. That's her new line. I carry a gun If somebody broke into my house, whatever, that's. That's a lie. They're deceiving you. The reality is that they want more carry regulations. They want to enforce gun free zones even strict, more strictly, and the truth is that they want more carry regulations. They want to enforce gun-free zones even more strictly, and the truth is that they are against constitutional carry because they want to track everything, and so that is why Gun Owners of America is fighting that fight because they're paying attention. They're watching everything to do with the Second Amendment. They're watching as your rights are being stripped from you right in front of your eyes, and they say no more, we're done with it.

Speaker 4:

And so, for just $25 a year, you can actively become a part of that fight. You'll be a member in the fight against the tyrannical oppression of those who would take your weapons away unconstitutionally. So you can go to gunownersorg to join today to become a member of Gun Owners of America. I highly recommend you become a member and become a part of that fight. Use the very limited resources to become a part of the grassroots fight that is going to stop the tyrannical left from taking away our rights. Now, when we get back from the break, we're going to go over another lawsuit, but this one alleges that a Democrat state house candidate her name is Cecilia Castellano was not paying vendors. What's that all about? You will find out if you stick around. You're listening to Lone Star. Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson. Be right back. Ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 4:

Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson. I want to just jump straight into this. So a lawsuit filed in Tarrant County is accusing a Democrat running for the Texas House of Representatives of failing to pay her vendors and subcontractors in the business she operates. Failing to pay her vendors and subcontractors in the business she operates this is out of House District 80. She's a candidate, cecilia Castellano, who operates Azteca Designs and Construction, and she allegedly failed to provide proper compensation for work done by one of Aztec's subcontractors, the Glass Doctor of North Texas. According to the lawsuit Now, glass Doctor had entered an agreement to work on a project with Azteca back in November of 2023 where the subcontractor was slated to earn $49,643 and let's be technical 36 cents According to the filing.

Speaker 4:

Later, glass Doctor was tasked with replacing damaged glass installed by another subcontractor for an additional $18,487.77. However, glass Doctor says the payments never arrived. Plaintiffs instead painted a picture of Azteca going out of their way to avoid providing the payments, claiming the project was not built pursuant to written plans and backcharging Glass Doctor to fix work done by a third party. Azteca also claimed that at various times that Glass Doctor damaged the project's drywall. Glass Doctor inspected the drywall and, despite clear evidence, its representatives did not cause the damage. Glass Doctor made repairs at its own cost, without charging Azteca, in hopes that Azteca would finally pay the amounts owed and due. Glass Doctor later discovered that other subcontractors were not fully paid for their contributions to the Azteca led project, leading plaintiffs to conclude in their filing that Azteca is nothing more than a shell corporation. Upon information and belief, defendant Azteca is undercapitalized and cannot meet its obligations, or it has diverted corporate funds to benefit defendant Castellanos' political ambitions.

Speaker 4:

Castellanos is currently a hotly contested campaign for HD80, a historically Democrat seat that has become competitive since former President Donald J Trump's 2020 performance overperformance in the major Hispanic South Texas. Over the summer, castellano beat the sister of disgraced US Rep Henry Queller in the Democrat primary for the district, following the announcement that current state Representative Tracy King would retire. She now faces former Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin, a Republican who led the city from 2014 to 2023, and through the aftermath of the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting. Mclaughlin campaign spokesman Nick Maddox said the news about the lawsuit was unsurprising given her previous track record, which, by the way, would be incredibly embarrassing If I made such mistakes that I failed so miserably at things like oh, I don't know, paying people like the most basic thing you can do as a business owner, which is pay the people that you agree you're going to pay when they do the work that you say you'll pay them for. It's one thing if you have to let them go because you can't afford it. It's another when you've already contracted them to do the work and then they do the work and then you refuse to pay them. Castellano, one of her aides, manuel Medina, are currently under investigation by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's office for potential voter fraud in their recent Democrat primary victory Quote.

Speaker 4:

From supporting biological males participating in girls' sports to supporting amnesty for the illegal immigrants overwhelming border communities, it is well established that Cecilia Castellano is too radical for South Texas. Now this lawsuit highlights that she is also incompetent in business. Despite receiving massive taxpayer-funded bailouts and millions in government contracts, castellano allegedly refuses to pay her vendors, with her integrity already in question as she is under investigation for voter fraud. This lawsuit further proves that she will put her interests above those of South Texas. Medina commented on behalf of the Castellano campaign that McLaughlin's business has also come under scrutiny in the past. His statement targeted a 2021 incident where McLaughlin's supplier company DKM Enterprises was involved in a road accident that led to the death of a 29-year-old woman. The case against McLaughlin and DKM was ultimately dismissed by a Missouri judge.

Speaker 4:

Don McLaughlin is a snake in Sissamedina. Once again, he instructs his good old boy network to harass, intimidate and do his dirty work. Instead of raising bogus claims against small business owner Cecilia Castellano, mclaughlin should take responsibility for his role in the tragic death of Ms Brooke Rees. He continued. Instead of hiding behind legal maneuvers, mclaughlin should accept responsibility for the death of Ms Breeze. His power and privilege should not grant him immunity from liability and prosecution. This is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. It is the blatant projection right, because he's calling them out for a very genuinely legitimate claim. He walked out legitimately. This is what's going on right. This is legitimately fair to question.

Speaker 4:

If somebody is not paying people that they agreed and entered a contract in to pay, it is incredibly fair to question that, to say, okay, look, something is not going right here, something is wrong. You can't just do that. You cannot, as a company, employ someone who does what it was forty seven thousand dollars worth of work and on top of that, after that forty seven thousand, it was another like eighteen grand, so you're sitting at at least around seventy thousand dollars worth of work. You cannot then say, well, yeah, you messed with the drywall a little bit, yeah, you did this, you did that and just not pay them. That is is completely unacceptable, it's completely illegal and it's completely immoral.

Speaker 4:

And yet and yet, these people are such lunatics, these people are so crazy that you have an aide of the woman who's being accused turning around and trying to say, well, yeah, but he did this bad thing years ago. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. That's not really the point. The point is it's the blatant deflection away from what they did. It's well, look over there at that guy. That guy did this bad thing one time. It's the same thing they do with Trump, right? Trump gets up there and he points out actually, her economic policy would be disastrous for the country. Actually, her foreign policy would absolutely launch us into a nuclear world war, right? And then their response is well, trump sexually abused this woman who can't remember the year she was abused in, back decades ago. Oh well, there was an allegation that some of his apartment complexes wouldn't rent out to minorities, that he wouldn't hire minorities or whatever.

Speaker 4:

It's this deflection away from the fact that actually, as it turns out, kamala Harris policies would be disastrous for the economy and instead of fighting on that front, instead of being open, honest, transparent and accountable, and instead of actually having a conversation, instead they start going after old news in an attempt to make you look bad. And that is exactly what they're doing to McLaughlin, right, who's running against her? Rather than, on the face of it, have a legitimate conversation about the fact that you are withholding payment as a you call a small business owner from another small business, and that's the other thing. That is just so frustrating to me is the fact that continually, they're like well, we're the party of the small business owner. Look, here's one right here, cecilia Castellano. We're part of the group, we're with you guys, and then come to find out no, you're not paying other small businesses. You are not. You are not one of us. You are weaponizing it. You are weaponizing your own incompetence. You're evil, you're unfair and you're a liar. And no amount of deflection, no amount of lacking accountability, no amount of lying is going to get her out of this is going to get her out of this. No amount of using her aid to go behind his back and start talking about.

Speaker 4:

Well, actually, actually, you know the other guy's bad, right, he's a snake, even though his case was literally dismissed, right, and they say you know that somehow the case dismissal was because he threatened people. Somehow, you know, the case dismissal is because he had friends in high places, though I was told and look, maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong, if you want to the number is seven, one, three, seven, seven, nine, kyst. But I was reliably informed by the left that that that can't happen, that it's not possible for the judges to have connections to people and for the court to be wrong. Right, because, well, there's no evidence of voter fraud in 2020. There's no, there's no evidence of mass voter fraud, even though the court literally wouldn't look at it. Oh, but that's fair. Right, that's fair. But when the judge, for legitimate reasons, dismisses a normal criminal case, well, that's not fair. It's because he has friends in high places.

Speaker 4:

Like I said, this is exactly what I'm saying the deflection, in combo with the projection, creates this unholy matrimony of grossness. Rejection creates this unholy matrimony of grossness, which is how you wind up here, where you have a woman running in this position. Who is, as a, is trying to pretend to be part of the working class by saying I'm a small business owner who operates without integrity and without fairness, and then their response to that is well, there was this thing that he allegedly did that actually ended up being dismissed because he didn't do it, but I think he did. So look over there at that guy. It's the most hypocritical nonsense ever, and the left does it all the time. It's basically their go-to argument. It's basically their go-to thing. It's well, this guy did this other bad thing, so ignore everything we're talking about. Yeah, I know, I know that Trump did this. Trump had this porn star that he hooked up with. Look over there at that. Ignore the fact that I'm probably going to click the nuke button. Ignore the fact that I'm probably going to get us embroiled in a war with Russia, in a war against the Middle East and in a war with China. Ignore all of that, because Trump did this bad thing and it's the exact same thing here. Ignore the fact that I'm doing all these things. That shows you I don't know how to budget. That shows you I'm incompetent at business. That shows you I lack character and integrity. And if you want to vote for the other guy, just remember he did this other bad thing one time that he was not convicted of and was let go. So I'm sick and tired of the projection.

Speaker 4:

Early voting in the November election begins, by the way, october 21st, that is, in three short weeks. It's going to run through November 1st and then election day is November 5th. So make sure you are getting out to vote. Make sure you are having a profound impact on the elections, because if we don't, we're going to get women like this. This is what we're going to get. You're going to get a Cecilia Castellano and you're going to get them all over the country. You're going to get women who do not care about you, do not care about what you're going through, do not care about your livelihoods, which is evidenced by the fact that she's unwilling to pay another small business owner who's probably struggling now. That could be significantly what happens across the country.

Speaker 4:

If we don't show up and show out big time, they would love nothing more than to have a small margin of error that they can fudge the numbers a little bit. We cannot give it to them. We have to, as a unified party, show up and show out and vote down ballot if we want to have any chance at moving on from all this crazy woke nonsense, any chance at moving on from all this crazy woke nonsense. Now, with that being said, when we get back from the break, I've got this story and you know I people have gotten upset at me for harping on this college. You can probably guess what college it is.

Speaker 4:

I have nothing against this college. The thing is that when it's this college, you know we have certain expectations, we have certain requirements of this college. We all hold this college close to our hearts and we say, ok, but here's the standards you have to meet for us to continue loving you. It's not unconditional, sorry, sweetheart. Actually, you have to meet these requirements and currently this college seemingly continually, over and over and over, has not, in this case, an A&M PAC board member. In addition, she has another side to her because apparently and allegedly, she also has ties to ready for it, the gambling lobby that continually wants to make its way into Texas and ruin our beautiful state. You're listening to Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson. Stick around, because we'll be right back.

Speaker 4:

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. Let's jump into this story as we wrap up the show today. So takes the name University System, a supposedly conservative college. I always have to say that, with a little stipulation, supposedly conservative has a gambling lobbyist on the board of their political action committee. As it turns out, rachel Horton, a member of the State Republican Executive Committee, posted about Texas A&M's political action committee. It showed that Karen Johnson Rove, the wife of political consultant Carl Rove, is on the board of that particular PAC.

Speaker 4:

A deeper dive into Karen Rove evidently found out that she counts herself among the hordes of lobbyists pushing to expand gambling in Texas. During the 2023 legislative session, the gambling lobby rushed the legislature to expand gambling in Texas. While the predatory industry's bid failed. They are not giving up. Big shocker, one of the key players in expanding gambling in texas is the las vegas sands corp. Now that might sound familiar. They're behind the texas destination resort alliance, which is a special interest front group created to back its unsuccessful bid to legalize casinos again back during the 2023 legislative session. In addition to that push uh the, the executives of that company acquired a majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks NBA team in 2023 to establish a foothold in the state somewhat above board. Records from the Texas Ethics Commission showed a link between Karen Rove and that corporation. They're one of Rove's top five clients that she lobbies for. According to data acquired from Transparency USA for the 2024 election season, she's paid a minimum of more than $208,000 to more than $417,000. This connection did not surprise Horton, she said. I'm not at all shocked to find that the Roe's time and attention is also connected to the casino industry's predatory attempt to garner a foothold in Texas. Transparency USA also showed that Karen Roe is a taxpayer-funded lobbyist for multiple Texas local governments, including the cities of McAllen, alamo Heights and the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.

Speaker 4:

Tamu's association with Rove is problematic. Gambling has been widely criticized, not only for ethics but also for economics. While casino owners never fail to see revenues materialize, promised money for the state can't keep pace with the costs. According to Baylor economist Earl Grinnell's research, $3 is spent for every dollar of revenue casino gambling generates. Such proximity to impredatory activity violates one of TAMU's principles of ethical conduct integrity of the highest caliber. Texas A&M has marketed itself over and over and over and over to us as a unique university and a bastion for our freedom and for conservative values. However, every time it has allowed people like Rve onto the board of its political action committee and then she's working behind her backs to expand gambling in texas. It's also problematic, by the way, because the university has been like super influential in politics here in texas like.

Speaker 4:

Back in 2011, the texas tribune reported on how former governor rick perry's political career began. It began back in 1984 when Clyde Wells, the then chairman of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents, asked around about who should replace an ongoing state representative. Then Democrat Perry became that replacement. Fast forward to now, he's now a lobbyist for gambling interests. He would name a senior advisor to embattled House Speaker, dade Phelan. Just one year before that, karl Rove worked with Texans for lawsuit reform to smuggle an editorial with Rick Perry's name attached to the Wall Street Journal. The editorial was part of the political bush to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton. So the top political donations include Speaker of the Texas House, dade Phelan. State Rep Andrew Murr. Key leaders of that impeachment from this A&M PAC. Key leaders of that impeachment from this ANM PAC.

Speaker 4:

So what I'll point out is that you can tell who's bad in all this stuff because it's always connected, kind of like how the people that always die or smell are always connected to the Clintons, and I'm not making any inference off of that. Make whatever inferences you want to. It's up to you what you believe. I think it's pretty obvious. It's kind of the same thing here. It's up to you what you believe. I think it's pretty obvious. It's kind of the same thing here.

Speaker 4:

It's like all these people are all like super in a real sense, not the liberal sense interconnected, no-transcript. Well, they're bought. These people are literally bought and paid for, not metaphorically, not using that term in a hyperbole sense, but legitimately bought and paid for. So we should not be shocked at all when these people then turn around and, oh, all of a sudden, they don't have your best interest at heart. And rather than push for school choice rather than push for more water uh, the texas is is more energy independent rather than push against china, chinese turbines in our, in our, in our state, rather than push against the indoctrination of the school system rather than push against a billion other things that are incredibly problematic for our state, rather than that, instead, they're pushing for something else that is going to ruin our culture even more.

Speaker 4:

You can think Las Vegas is pretty, it's cool, whatever. Walk down the Las Vegas strip and tell me if that's what you want Houston looking like. Tell me if that's what you want Texas to turn into A safe haven for the most ridiculous, evil, bad people who prey on others to make money. That's what this is all about every single time. They're all bought and paid for and of course, it's always Dade Fiedland. All right, that'll do it for the show today. I will be back tomorrow 6 to 8 am. It's the Lone Star Conservative. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Until then, I'll talk to y'all later. Bye.
