Hurricane Helene, Texas Financial Moves, and Debates on Climate: A Conservative Analysis (10/2/2024)

Patriot Talk 920 AM

Can human activities truly be blamed for the wrath of hurricanes, or is it time to reassess the narrative surrounding climate change? Join us on Lone Star Conservative as we confront this heated debate head-on, scrutinizing the federal response to Hurricane Helene and lauding Texas Governor Greg Abbott's swift action. We also tackle the topic of high gas prices in Georgia, expressing our dismay at profiteering during trying times. JD Vance's standout performance in his debate with Tim Walz is also on the agenda, showcasing his deft handling of climate-related questions that left many impressed.

Prepare for a deep dive into the economic landscape of Texas with the imminent launch of the Texas Stock Exchange (TEXE), a bold move that positions Texas as a financial powerhouse. With former Governor Rick Perry joining the leadership team, the exchange seeks to champion free market principles and foster growth for Texas-based businesses. Meanwhile, we don't shy away from heavier topics, exploring the severe issue of child trafficking and drawing troubling parallels with high-profile cases like Jeffrey Epstein. The recent allegations against Sean "P Diddy" Combs serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for accountability in the media industry.

Social media's impact on children is a pressing concern, and we echo calls for action, like those from Tarrant County Public Health Director Brian Bird, advocating for smartphone bans in schools to protect our youth. Government transparency is another focal point, as Ken Paxton's lawsuit against Travis County raises critical questions about taxpayer money. From JD Vance's authentic approach in debates to the systemic issues within Houston's judicial system, we emphasize the power of civic engagement and the importance of reform. Plus, personal reflections on patriotism, family, and the crucial role of self-defense in protecting one's property round out this episode. Tune in to be part of the conversation and stay informed on these vital topics.

Speaker 1:

from deep in the heart of texas comes houston's god-loving patriot and the voice of reason. This is the lone star conservative michael wilson.

Speaker 2:

Let's all get offended. Tonight I'll order us a beer. We can sit down right here and scream and yell and cuss and puss and pie.

Speaker 3:

Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host. Michael Wilson, it's good to be in here with you this morning. There's a lot going on today, especially as last night as I'm sure you're all very well aware it was the vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Waltz, and let's just say, if you did not watch it, you missed out on a good time and you missed out on well, a lot of things that we're going to get to at the top of the 7 o'clock hour. Before then we had a lot to get to. So let's jump right in, starting with the weather for the day.

Speaker 3:

Right now, for the weather of the day, I start by looking over at the affected areas from Hurricane Helene, and I do that for a very good reason, which is that I have to announce it because the federal government won't. I'm saying that slightly sarcastically, but I think the point rings true. The federal government is doing basically nothing right now to help the people from Hurricane Halid. They're doing essentially nothing, and that's insane and it's problematic, and it comes on the tails of sending hundreds of millions more to Taiwan, billions more to Ukraine, billions more to Israel and say what you want about foreign aid Millions more to Israel and say what you want about foreign aid, say what you want about a lot of things, but when your people are in desperation and kids are missing their parents and you're seeing a lot of what's going on, and look, there's still a lot going on. There are still over 1 million people are still without power, hundreds of thousands of people are still without water for weeks from now. There's over 162 people dead, so that death toll continues to rise, with over 600 more unaccounted for. Look, I'm not discounting the importance of what happened between Israel and Iran yesterday. If you were not aware, iran sent a bunch of ballistic missiles over and bombed Israel. We're still getting updates on that and what that will mean for the future of the region, what Israel is going to want to do going forward and vice versa, and number of injuries, deaths, et cetera, et cetera. But what we do know is that that was a huge launch and more than likely, a pretty solid kickoff. I'll say to what's going to happen in the next and upcoming weeks. What's going to happen in the next and upcoming weeks. But I'll be honest with you All of that matters very much less to me than what North Carolinians are going through Because there are people, there are citizens, and that should be easily our first priority.

Speaker 3:

No questions asked, no question about it at all, and Greg Abbott understands that I mean Greg Abbott literally posted yesterday. He said we have sent the Texas Task Force 1 to North Carolina to assist with search and rescue operations related to Hurricane Helene. We remain in contact with their emergency operations to provide any assistance needed. Texas helps our fellow Americans. You've also got gas stations in Georgia that are charging $10 a gallon.

Speaker 3:

Ladies and gentlemen, do you understand what's going on? You have people that are profiting off disaster and, of course, they tried to explain supply and demand as if people are five-year-olds and don't understand that supply and demand makes sense, but that this is not a time for supply and demand. This is a time for people are genuinely dying and for you to cut them off from access to gasoline, to get out of there, to travel, to go get help because you want to make more money, which is the simple reason. It's unfathomable that people could do that. It's unfathomable that people could do that. It's unfathomable that people could do that to each other. It's one thing when it comes from the federal government, that's not so shocking. It's one thing when it comes from the government in general, it's one thing when it comes from illegal immigrants, but when it comes from our neighbors, when it comes from people that are supposed to be fellow Americans, frankly it's difficult to comprehend how this is happening. I'm very upset. I'm irrationally angry, because I watched this video last night and I'm watching it again. It's just this guy telling him, trying to explain it's $10 a gallon. They know what they're doing. These people can't afford to get gas. I just I can't comprehend the mindset there. But look what's happened over. There is a disaster and what they're going through even right now is disastrous. It's difficult, it's painful and it's worse when all that pain is going on and your federal government is nowhere to be found. Basically, now they've done zero, but come on 1 percent, round it down when they're off sending billions of foreign aid packages to foreign countries. And you wonder what happened.

Speaker 3:

Now, of course, during the vice presidential debate, the moderators tried to clearly paint Hurricane Helene, by quoting the experts, as some force of climate change. That the more that the climate changes, the warmer it gets, the stronger, crazier, more unpredictable the hurricanes will be. And this is the first big example, which is absolute bogus. By the way, I'm not a climate change denier. I don't say that the climate doesn't change. It changes, sure, somehow. Our carbon emissions somehow, the cars that you're driving, the cows that you have in your yard, somehow those are the reasons that we're marching towards a slow and painful death through hurricane. You're mistaken, that's crazy to believe and it's not the truth. It's a lie perpetrated by the media, perpetrated by the government, as a means of grabbing more and more power from you. That's not the case. However, I will say that JD Vance handled that question masterfully. I mean, he did a fantastic job. Like I said, he did great in the debate and we're going to get to all of that at the top of the 7 o'clock hour. You're not going to want to miss that, so do stick around.

Speaker 3:

But I'm going to jump in to the weather here in Houston, because October is starting off with a very toasty week and we're staying, I think, mostly dry. The humidity point is is relatively low, um, but there is a small chance of rain toward the end of this week, followed by a small, a small cool down coming next week, probably sometime around monday or tuesday is when we're looking at maybe having slightly cooler weather. I mean for reference. You know our highs right now, including today, are in the mid-90s. Hopefully early next week those will jump into the 80s, considering the average temperature of the past. But the weather people are also. I didn't even want to talk about this because I'm like it may not be anything, but I felt like you guys deserve to know.

Speaker 3:

There's an area out in the Caribbean with a moderate chance of formation in the Gulf soon. They're saying that it could form. We're not sure which direction it's going to go. They were looking at Florida, but again, we know how unpredictable the models are. No one could have possibly guessed that Hurricane Helene would hit with the force that it did or that it would end up in North Carolina. So it's not that I absolutely trust the experts at this point, but they are on the lookout for an area what they're calling an area that could form within the next couple of days. So we'll have to see how that's going to go.

Speaker 3:

Now, with all of that being said, I want to jump into a good story. I want to jump into a good time, something that matters to Americans, specifically to Texans. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. And it's this, basically, greg Abbott is making big moves. Texas in general is making big moves. I mean, I think we're all aware Texas as her own country. I'm not a secessionist, I'm not saying we should secede. What I am saying is that, as her own country, texas would be wildly successful, I think, possibly even more successful than we are right now. Texas would be wildly successful, I think, possibly even more successful than we are right now. Texas would be on the forefront of a lot of industries. Texas would be one of the top I think it's top five, top five countries in the world if Texas was her own country. And so there's always the conversation and thought process there of like, how more independent could we get? Here's one.

Speaker 3:

The Lone Star State's very own Stock Exchange is set to launch next year. With Governor Greg Abbott celebrating the milestone at the governor's mansion Quote, texas has become the lone capital in the United States. Today, our great state is making its claim as a hub for capital markets. With the addition of the Texas Stock Exchange, this is another step that extends our financial influence in the United States and strengthens our economic power on the global stage. The Texas Stock Exchange will ensure that businesses have greater access to capital and that market participants have more options. Texas is the modern embodiment of the American dream where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. The Texas Stock Exchange will help even more businesses reach that success. So while the rest of the country par North Carolina, virginia, tennessee, georgia, alabama and Florida while everybody else is falling behind in a bunch of different ways, texas continually is leading the charge towards saying, look, the American dream is not gone, the Wild West is not inherently gone, it doesn't have to be gone. There are still things we can do that excite people and that change up the dynamic and that give us an advantage, and this is one of those instances. So the Texas Stock Exchange, or TEXE, is going to be T-capitalized national securities exchange application to ever file a registration with the SEC, which is pretty crazy. But for those of us who love our state, who are very proud of Texas, I don't think we're too incredibly shocked to hear that number or to hear that we're like the biggest ever we are. Everything is bigger in Texas. Come on, everybody knows that.

Speaker 3:

According to a report from Texas Policy Research, the TXC is designed to break away from Wall Street Quote. One of the primary motivations behind the Texas Stock Exchange is its promise to buck Wall Street's system. Advocates of the exchange argue that, if Wall Street has become increasingly detached from the real world interests of American businesses, focusing on short-term profits, esg initiatives and corporate activism, many Texas-based businesses and investors believe these priorities do not reflect the state's economic reality. Where energy technology and traditional industries remain critical, the Texas Stock Exchange is positioning itself as a more business-friendly alternative. Instead of following trends that some see as driven by political and social pressures, texas is going to offer a platform that prioritizes free market principles, entrepreneurship and innovation. As explained by John McCullough, a legal expert who has clearly studied and closely studied the exchange, this new financial platform is designed to reflect the values that have long made Texas an attractive place for business low taxes. Texas has an attractive place for business low taxes, minimal regulation and a fierce commitment to individual freedom. In practical terms, the Tech C is expected to offer more favorable listing requirements for companies, making it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to go public by reducing some of the compliance costs associated with listing on the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ. Techsee hopes to attract companies that may feel overlooked by larger exchanges.

Speaker 3:

Additionally, the exchange's leadership team was revealed, and this is where, if you're reading this at this point, you might go, but I have an explanation for this that, I think, defends it well. So one of the leadership team included former Governor Rick Perry. Perry's been in the news recently, of course, for his his quote, unquote volunteer advisory role that he had, uh, with our good embattled house speaker dade phelan and his spokesperson position for the sports betting alliance, a group advocating, of course, for the legalization of mobile sports gambling in texas. Chairman lee outlined the next step for the exchange, which includes submitting the right registration to the security exchange commission and, pending approval, I think they plan to execute their first trades by the end of next year and begin launching listings in early 2026.

Speaker 3:

With all that being said, if you're on the fence and you're thinking out loud and you're thinking, you know I don't like Rick Perry, I don't like what he stands for. This is a dangerous idea to put him in a prominent position of power. Here's my short but sweet take RFK Jr. The guy is a far-left lunatic, frankly. He's not pro-Second Amendment. He's very anti-Second Amendment, which is crazy for a Kennedy. Ironically enough, he's well, I guess it sort of makes sense. He's very anti-Second Amendment. He's very climate change-oriented. He's a lot of things, but that also creates some things that he's good at, because he believes in climate change.

Speaker 3:

He actually does want cleaner air, cleaner water, which I, as JD Vance pointed out during the debate last night, I think is something that most Americans want. I want cleaner air and cleaner water. It's not that I'm like, oh yeah, let's do whatever we can to ruin this environment because I don't care about it at all. I genuinely don't care about the world God's given us. I've never said that. I've never been on the fence about that. I've never pretended to feel that way. I've always said I would love to do what I can to make this world a better place. I would love to do that Same with attacking big food. That's been a consistently and historically liberal position to be, you know saying, oh, I don't want to eat these things. So you know I'm not saying veganism, but what I'm saying is being self-conscious about your health.

Speaker 3:

Well, rfk Jr is making that part of the Trump campaign is make America healthy again referencing fixing our environment cleaner air, cleaner water not in a tree-huggery way, just in a general common sense sort of way. He's been talking about big food and the issues surrounding that, and so one of the big things now is okay. So RFK Jr is a far-left lunatic, he's a radical, sure, but he's going to be in positions where he actually can make a difference in a positive way. I'm tempted to say maybe, just maybe, rick Perry could be the same. We know the guy is problematic. Even just in the recent history alone, we can see the problems for that guy, but at the same time we look at it and we go you know, maybe it won't be so bad, maybe there's a possibility that God's given him skills and talents and beliefs that have no negative impact on Texie and actually have a positive impact. That's entirely possible and I would much rather go to bed thinking that than wake up feeling like Rick Perry is going to mess the whole thing up. So hopefully no one messes the whole thing up, because this would be an incredible project.

Speaker 3:

It's a very daunting task, a very large task. It's going to be very difficult, very time-consuming and very expensive. However, texans deserve better than what we're getting consistently with the stock markets. Texans deserve better for their business and I think this is going to provide a unique opportunity for Texans specifically, though I think it's open to everyone, but for Texans. I think it's going to open a unique opportunity, a unique door for them to finally have a lot of the same opportunities that a lot of other people have had, especially when, again, we're one of the most successful states in the country and as our own, we would be one of the most successful countries in the world. So it's hardly justifiable not to do this, especially now that we're kind of looking at it like, ah, you know, apparently this is an option, this is something we could have done. So I think everyone, pretty much by and large, is on board. It's going to be very exciting.

Speaker 3:

Now, when we get back from the break, I have a story about Sean. You know him, p Diddy Combs and our own very Houston lawyer, tony Busby, who's representing a lot of the plaintiff. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson. You're not going to want to miss that story, so stick around.

Speaker 3:

So our attorney here in Houston, tony Busby, revealed new details regarding allegations of sexual assault and exploitation against Sean Diddy Combs and others representing over 100 alleged victims at a news conference and this was a news conference he did yesterday. So the Busby Law Firm and Ava Law Group held a press conference at 1 pm to release new details about allegations of sexual assault, exploitation and abuse against music mogul Sean Diddy Combs and other alleged perpetrators. During the conference, busby's lead counsel for the plaintiffs discussed the lawsuits, which currently represent over 100 individuals. He shared details of the alleged abuse, outlining potential additional defendants and highlighting the victims' stories. Co-counsel Andrew Van Arsdale of the Ava Law Group also attended to share the process for victims and witnesses to contact the firm and report additional information via the sexual assault hotline to contact the firm and report additional information via the sexual assault hotline. The allegations include instances of rape, sexual assault and exploitation at private residences, hotels and notorious parties known as get this freak-off gatherings. Busby said that the group of victims includes both men and women, many of whom were minors at the time. He expects the number of claimants to grow as more details emerge and others come forward.

Speaker 3:

It looks like one of two things will happen. Either right off the bat, sean Lee Combs gets hit with an Epstein right in the face or around the neck by someone, or this guy's going to go away for a very, very long time. Because the amount of it's one thing. It's like Harvey Weinstein was accused or this guy was accused, or this guy was accused and it's like, yes, I understand that they're probably guilty, maybe they aren't, who knows. The reality is that P Diddy, like come on over 100 alleged victims, with more probably going to emerge At some point, I think people are going to have to wake up and say, yeah, this is pretty obvious. I think most people have. It's pretty obvious. With P Diddy especially, the reality I think that a lot of people are waiting for is not just winning the lawsuit against P Diddy, but it's the result and the fallout that's going to have on the rest of the media industry. Because again, we know you had Epstein running everything for the politicians specifically, but but for everyone, but especially the politicians, and then apparently you had like a P Diddy-style person over in Hollywood. So you've got these different, almost moguls of this sort of exploitation, especially and including of minors. And so it raises the question we never got to see the Epstein files. We never got to find out who the people were. We got some flight logs, but come on realistically, we never got to see the Epstein files. We never got to find out who the people were. We got some flight logs, but come on realistically, we never saw anything.

Speaker 3:

What are we going to get out of the P Diddy trial? I mean, assuming he survives. Is there any world where we get extra information regarding other people, a list of names, people in attendance that he has? They're calling these the possibility to these, the Diddy tapes, the P Diddy tapes that he apparently recorded a lot of the stuff that went on at these parties with cameras and that a lot of the people that have been, anyone that's been to these parties is probably implicated and likely they're going to find out about it because there's video, there's evidence. I hope that's the case, though I feel for the men that have to sit through those disgusting, abhorrent videos, because I'm sure they are. I am incredibly grateful that my job is talking about it and not watching it for hours to find people in that video, but we need people doing it and hopefully, unlike with epstein, hopefully this is an opportunity to find a bunch of these evil elitists and just take them out.

Speaker 3:

And I say, take them out, I'm not. I'm not talking about well, maybe I am. Maybe I am talking about the, the, the violent version of that. I mean, if you're HarmanKids, if you're on video diddling kids diddying kids, I frankly have zero sympathy. If someone were to decide to commit some act against you, I would have zero sympathy for you. I'm not encouraging that, I'm not saying you should go do that, but I'm saying I would not have any sympathy against you because that's it's probably one of the, if not the worst thing on the face of this planet that you could possibly do. Another really bad thing you could do is be aware that all of this goes on, like P Diddy, jeffrey Epstein, if you're aware that this is stuff that's ongoing and you don't have a way to defend your home, that's why you need to join with our sponsor, gun Owners of America. Now listen, I'm not saying that P Diddy is going to come, knock on your door and try to take your kids away.

Speaker 3:

What I am saying is, shockingly, child sex slavery is a huge market here in the United States and I have seen if you watch, sound of Freedom, it's a great movie. It's a little bit older now. I think it came out a year ago, maybe a little longer and Sound of Freedom was the first of its kind. It was a movie with some great acting in it. It was produced by Angel Studios, which has produced some quality content, and they made this movie about child sex trafficking. It's people that have been smuggled across the border and then were all over the place and this officer who found them, based on a true story and the reality is that's ongoing, and they show at the beginning and end of the movie. They show actual scenes, like video camera scenes of kids who have just been picked up and kidnapped and it's shocking. It's happening in airports. It's happening right after they put their kids in the car, before they're able to drive off. It's happening in parking lots, it's happening outside houses.

Speaker 3:

And if you are not in a position where, right now, you can protect your kids and frankly, even if you are, you need to become a member of Gun Owners of America, because what your government is trying to do right now, for the first time in American history, realistically at this level, is to take away your right to defend yourself. It's to create a population that is not only afraid to defend, but a lot of them is incapable. They take away the weapons you can use and over time these are what they call baby steps towards the end goal of completely disarming the population. So then when someone comes up and they grab your kid, you have no way to stop them. There's no way, and that is a horrible, horrible reality for a lot of countries and we do not want that here. I know they've opened up the border, so the sex trafficking trade is even bigger. I know that they've done a lot of things, that are all working together to create these sorts of problems.

Speaker 3:

But if we let them take away our guns, we lose. We lose, and Gun Owners of America is they're not down for losing. Let's just say, let's just put it that way Gun Owners of America does not like to lose. So become a member of Gun Owners of America. You can go to gunownersorg for just $25 per year. That'd be $50 if you decided to do it another year, but $25 per year. You can become a member of Gun Owners of America and rest assured that you have got a grassroots the best gun advocacy group on the face of the planet actively fighting to ensure that, no matter what day, no matter what year it is, that you are protected so that you can protect.

Speaker 3:

I want to jump into a story. Over in Tarrant County, the public health director is advising schools at this point to, well, do something that I've called for for years, do something that I think parents should be doing anyways all the time. But that thing specifically is that finally they're admitting that they need to get phones, smartphones out of the classroom. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson. Speaker 3:

Now listen, tarrant county public health director has basically released this new letter, uh, to parents and teachers in the entirety of the county explaining that there are a lot of dangers and there's a lot of harms of children overusing social media, especially in the classroom. His name is Brian Bird, and this is a letter that he sent out last week that we've just picked up on, that recommends school districts in the county do their part by removing and doing what they can by removing the school or the classrooms from the schools. He cited emerging research that suggests what, by the way, I've been I'm not trying to brag, I'm just trying to say, like, pay attention, because this is real, what I've been trying to say for years now, which is that social media causes a rise in anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and suicide. No-transcript, and uh, parents weren't paying attention, and then he got her phone number and then he sent her gifts, and then he took her in the back of his car and did unspeakable things and sent her unspeakable things. And so the reality is that, on top of everything else that social media inherently does, it does allow predators to get in touch with them, whether it's their teacher or anyone else. But here's some of the letter Quote. The evidence has stood the test of academic challenges and is now unavoidable. The more time our children spend around on social media, the more their mental health suffers. He also wrote that, with increased use of social media, students' grades and academic performance have dropped significantly and sleep disruption seems to have gone up Because of the negative effects.

Speaker 3:

Byrd is calling on every school district in Tarrant County to remove smartphones from classrooms in an effort to improve students' mental well-being. For example, back in July, pike Middle School in Arlington, an independent district, announced that students would not even be allowed to use cell phones or other electronic devices during the school day at all, not just in the classrooms, but at school. Byrd applauded districts that have already implemented smartphone bans and recognized the Texas legislature for passing laws to protect children by eliminating the data that social media companies can collect from them. However, he says that more needs to be done and recommends parents delay children's access to social media until they reach the age of 16, which just a couple of years ago you'd have been called crazy for saying. You know, I know you've been called crazy for saying it because I was the one that said it.

Speaker 3:

Actually, I went even further. I said as long as they live in my house, they're not getting a smartphone. They will get a flip phone. When they are old enough that they are around without me, they will get a smart, they will get a flip phone and when they move out, they can decide if they want a smartphone. But I'll have raised them to know that there's basically no positives unless you're in an industry where being able to quickly access internet information is important. If that is not specifically you, that is a. It is a detriment in every single major way.

Speaker 3:

But regardless, I've been saying for years my kids, like as in kids, will not, will not, have a smartphone. There'll be no, no minor in my home that owns a smartphone. And when their friends come over, you want to hear the real kicker when my friends come, when my children's friends come over. Like I said, no minors in the home with smartphones. Their parents can send them with a flip phone, or I'll probably be pretty good friends with the parents. We can have a conversation about how they can get in touch with me if they need something, or they can come with their kids. They're more than welcome to hang out at my house as well. My house is open, but I'm not willing to have my kids around smartphones that are not monitored by me. And you can think that's crazy and you can think that's strict, but I can tell you right now, as someone that grew up around smartphones as a minor, they are awful. There is zero positive. Like seriously, there is zero positive, and you can say well, the ability to access information quickly is still not a positive for minors. And I'll tell you why. Because when minors do grow up with the ability to access information easily, they no longer know how to research. They no longer know how to learn things and to think critically, because they have the answer at their fingertips. That's going to be even worse going forward. Now they've implemented AI into every search algorithm and social media, so now not only do they have the force of the internet to look something up that could be a wrong answer, now AI, judged by misinformation, is giving you the answer based on summary searches. And so no, absolutely not. My children will not have a smartphone. There is zero positives and a billion negatives, not the least of which is this declining intelligence, this being taken advantage of by predators, and all the rest.

Speaker 3:

So, state representative Ellen Troxclare she's out of Lakeway she said that she will file legislation to ban phones from classrooms. So not just asking schools to do this because it's smart, but actual legislation to do so. Quote as a lawmaker, I know that I have a responsibility to our teachers, administrators and parents alike to stop the ubiquitous presence of phones in classrooms and set our students up for success by minimizing distractions. That was in a commentary that she wrote. So, look, people are waking up to this, this, and they should be, because this is something that parents especially need to wake up to. It is your job to ensure that your children are safe. You have a especially. I'll even go I'll speak to the fathers here, but this is this rings true mothers too.

Speaker 3:

But specifically as a father, you have the distinct job of leadership in the home. God's given that to you, if you're a Christian, that that is your direct duty, Even if you're not a Christian. It's biologically ingrained, and that's why they say I owe the alpha male type. Yeah, you mean just dudes, any dude that does not feel like an alpha male or does not act like one, the ones that the feminists would call alpha males. If you don't act like that, more than likely there's a very serious problem with your hormone imbalance, and I'm not. I'm not saying that to be rude, but what I'm saying is there's a reason they started being called soy boys, and it has to do with the way that soy milk interacts with your hormones. Uh, that soy has a direct impact on your testosterone levels. And now they're trying to debate the science, but that's beyond the point. The point is that men are designed biologically to be leaders. It makes sense because god called them to be, and then the biology also lines up because God created the science right.

Speaker 3:

But the reality is that if you are a father, you have the unique job of leading your home spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally. You have the job of protecting your family and of providing for your family. If your family is directly unprotected, it is your fault. It is your responsibility to fix that. I was having a conversation with somebody yesterday where I talked about the things that I would do to protect my home go far beyond the legal scope. And I've said look, if you put me in a position where my job is to pick between legality and the protection of my family, you know what I'm picking. Yeah, I'm picking my family because the reality is that I am tasked before God to do and that is a right that I have to do that. And parents need to realize this, they need to wake up and they need to say look, I have a right to protect my kids, and my kids have never in the history of the world been less protected than they are today.

Speaker 3:

Because, specifically, the advent of the way that public school functions, public school in general, the system and smartphones, those two are the single greatest reasons why your kids are unprotected from both mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. Right Public school indoctrinates them. Spiritually, emotionally and physically. Right Public school indoctrinates them. They have now taken them where they're probably away from you for at least eight hours minimum, some longer. I know that there are some school zones that will run all the way from 7 am to 5 pm. Well, that's 10 hours of school zone. Now, I don't know how that applies, I didn't attend public school, but I can tell you if it really is 10 hours. That's a long time. I think the math is something like from the age of kindergarten or first grade until graduation, they spent around five or 15,500 hours away from home with public school. That is a lot of time that your kids are not being influenced by you and are being influenced by someone or something else, by whatever the curriculum is, whatever the teacher thinks, whatever the school system believes, whatever the government is perpetrating, whatever the curriculum says. That's a lot of time that you're not able to have a direct impact over what they believe, and I think that's a negation of your responsibility. So it's the public school system that has now gone from. Kids are learning basic things, kids are even learning well. And you know it's the public school system that has now gone from. Kids are learning basic things, kids are even learning well. And you know it's all a facade, you know it's all designed that way because somebody who was homeschooled who, by the way, passed the same exact standardized test that public schoolers did I had the same, I learned the same exact things, if not more.

Speaker 3:

I, I, I, I actively made sure that I passed the classes. Okay, I didn't cheat my way out of things. You can't cheat at standardized testing. You can't cheat on the ACT. I was able to learn those things and you know how much in terms of time that I spent per day on school. Even up into high school was probably less than three hours a day, probably less, maybe four Max High school it was max four hours a day, probably less, maybe four Max High school it was max four hours a day. You know how crazy it is that you send your kids away for at least double that. Starting in kindergarten or first grade First grade I was maybe spending an hour and a half or two hours. You don't need more than that. I would get up at 5.30 or 6 am as a first second grader and I could have my school done by breakfast or right after breakfast. It was easy to do, it wasn't even hard, and so that's the first way is that they take your kids away and they've convinced you they need to, and your kids are away from you all day. You have no direct impact on the way that they're raised.

Speaker 3:

The second, the second way, is with those smartphones, is that even when they aren't home, they're often distracted. They're often reading things they shouldn't be saying, even if they're like, okay, but I don't, I don't let them scroll Safari, I don't let them look, I have a, I have a blocker on their phone that doesn't let them see bad websites, right Like. They have blockers Mike Johnson has talked about to my friends who had them. Sure, but it doesn't prevent them from using Instagram. And if they're scrolling Instagram, trust me as someone who has scrolled Instagram some of the things they will see are borderline, pornographic or at least trending that direction or making jokes about it or making other crude jokes, and that's what your kids are being exposed to.

Speaker 3:

So if you're giving your kid and I don't fault people for a decade ago having done this, but if you're giving your 12-year-old or your 13-year-old or even your 14-year-old access to a device or younger God forbid if you're giving them access to a device with internet access, you're making a grave error. It is a huge mistake for a myriad of reasons, including now the available evidence on depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. It's just a foolish decision to make for the sake of your kids. It's crazy. You know what else is crazy?

Speaker 3:

The fact that we have counties out here that are so lacking in the transparency department that, quite literally, they've hid things from the taxpayers. They're like spending your money but they won't tell you how they're spending your money, and usually that would result in a lawsuit. Obviously, if they're like not telling you how your money is being spent, like if they can't provide an audit, that's become less frequent. And I'm not talking about them failing, I'm talking about lawsuits because people have just become and grown accustomed oftentimes to counties doing this. But Ken Paxton is not happy.

Speaker 3:

We know that Ken Paxton often does not have it. He's unwilling to deal with it, and for a good reason, and I'm glad that he's not. And that's happening once again because Ken Paxton is now suing Travis County regarding those secret security measures that we talked about last week, specifically with their I think it's their district attorney, jose Garza, and the fact that they've added in a bunch of things for his protection that they're listing, that are super vague and they're spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on it. They're creating new branches and a lot of it like at the same time. I'm on board with the protection of our elected officials, especially from dangerous situations, but what you can't do is spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars, not tell the taxpayers exactly how they're being spent and then just move on. That is a recipe to set yourself up for no accountability, corruption, and Ken Paxton and the rest of America and the rest of Texas is not having it. You're listening to Lone Star Conservative. Speaker 3:

Welcome back everyone to the Lone Star Conservative. So what's become now like a saga over the security expenditures for the Travis County District Attorney his name's Jose Garza has it just got longer than it already was? So, according to a press release from the attorney general's office, texas has now sued travis county over an alleged secret meeting where more than a hundred thousand dollars was allocated to cover undisclosed security improvements as the district attorney's home. Following disclosure of his address on social media, the office of the attorney general claimed the travis county commissioner's court failed to provide proper notice or allow the public to comment on the proposal which allocated $115,000 from the general fund for security improvements to Garza's home. The Office of the Attorney General wrote this quote these actions violated the Texas Open Meetings Act by failing to give adequate notice of the topics that would be discussed during the executive session. Further, state law only permits governing bodies to enter into an executive session to discuss certain issues. The purpose of this session, called by Travis County leaders, was to divert taxpayer money for enhanced security to the district attorney's personal residence. The topic is not eligible for an executive session under the Texas Open Meetings Act. Ken Braxton also said this.

Speaker 3:

Travis County has illegally abused procedure to conceal self-serving decision-making, to hide from scrutiny and to prevent citizens from knowing exactly what is being done with their money. After the travis county, da's pro-crime policies have created such dangerous conditions for austin residents, it is especially ironic that he secretly sought taxpayer-funded security measures for his home. Basically, the response is into that last set of stuff we went over that was going on, uh, throughout august and september providing additional security, and earlier this month, in a separate lawsuit, travis County sued the attorney general to conceal their own costs related to the expenditures for the Houston company involved in Garza's security. They've already sued for the same freaking story, just in a different technical part of it. Travis County has also explained the creation of an entirely new agency to oversee the protection. So they're spending out the wazoo for protection of these people. They're trying to sue the Attorney General for questioning it, and now the Attorney General, ken Paxton, has had enough and he said look, I'm suing you Like seriously.

Speaker 3:

This is a lawsuit because you can't just go and and spend absurd amounts of money on things without even asking the public, without telling them what it is and keeping it secret. You can't, that's unfair to do. You cannot do that, and I think that most people even again, there's things that obviously are not bipartisan issues, even though we're right on it, it's just obviously not going to be bipartisan. But there are some things that, no matter how different our politics are, they should seem relatively what we call common sense. One of those things is, if your county is spending absurd amounts of money secretly, you deserve to know about it, you deserve to have a voice about it and to at least hear more than just empty, vague platitudes regarding where the money is going Right. Libs, do you agree? Because I think you should. I think it's pretty obvious that that's the case for both sides. I'm not saying it's because it's a Democrat. If it were a Republican, I would be asking the exact same thing. If it were Ken Paxton that was using taxpayer money to create his own new security measures, we would be having a conversation about if that's what the voters want and if I think that it needs to be transparent regarding what exactly the security measures are, because they won't tell us. And this sums up one of the major problems with government at this point that I keep pointing out over and over and over again is the total lack of transparency, which inherently leads to a total lack of accountability. That's what happens if you are and this is true, by the way, of guys as well. It's why guys need other guy friends.

Speaker 3:

If a man is able to completely conceal his sin, if a man is able to completely get away with whatever he's doing and hide it and no one ever questions him, you know what? There is no incentive for him to stop. Now you could say, well, jesus is always watching, sure, but I'm talking about the realistic truth that there is a reason that God calls us to be accountable to other believers. You know why? That is Because when we have no accountability partners, when we have no one who's willing to call us out when we're doing something wrong, no one who's willing to ask us how we're doing realistically with our walk with God, when we have no one doing that, you know what happens. We dive into sin. Because we're designed to have people helping us on our journey against sin. We're designed as people to have other believers, other friends, close friends who are willing to do us a solid and speak the truth into our lives In the same way. And that's why, if you hide things from people, that's a rest you're purposely setting yourself up for being able to give in to temptation. In the same way, when you're a county and you're not being honest and forthright with exactly what you're doing with the money that you've been given, with the money that people have paid you, you are setting yourself up for total and abject failure in terms of corruption. You're setting yourself up for it, or at least inefficiency and failure, because when you have no honesty and transparency, you will inevitably more than likely 99% of the time have no accountability, and then you'll dive into something you absolutely should not be diving into Now.

Speaker 3:

With all of that being said, we get back to the break. Some exciting stuff going on. We're going to spend at least the first segment going over the vice presidential debate, going over how the whole thing went. If you watched it, congratulations. It was much better than the other one. If you did not watch it, we're going to have the summary for you when we get back from the break. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. We'll be back. You're not going to want to miss this analysis. It was a fantastic debate.

Speaker 1:

From deep in the heart of Texas comes Houston's God-loving patriot and the voice of reason this is the Lone Star Conservative, Michael Wilson.

Speaker 3:

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and look, the debate was great, fantastic. You guys know, I'm right here, right here in Houston, and I think it's really important to talk about what's going on here in Texas, things that are important going on right here in Houston especially, and there's a lot of that and I'd like to get to all of that, and so I'm going to provide kind of a short and sweet analysis on the debate. We are going to have Chris Plant coming on. I'm sure he's going to talk all about it. I don't know what he talks about because I don't ask him hey, what are you doing later? But Chris Plant is coming on right after me. You're going to have Dan Bongino from 11 to 2. You're going to have Todd Starnes from two to five. All those guys are huge in the national analysis scene. They're going to give you the whole breakdown, but I'm going to give you a little taste because if you did not watch the debate, it was a master class in debate.

Speaker 3:

As someone who has competed avidly in debate, as someone who very much enjoys debate, I was thoroughly impressed by JD Vance. It is possibly the best performance on a debate stage for politics I have ever seen. He was calm, he was collected, very mature. He performed fantastically and in a way that I don't think anyone, even myself included, expected him to perform quite so well. I knew going into it that he was going to crush Waltz, because he had been Waltz had been saying for weeks or months that he's not a good debater. He had been Walsh had been saying for weeks or months that he's not a good debater. He was building himself up to say, have a valid excuse when he got destroyed. And that told me that they knew that Vance was going to do well and they knew he was going to do bad. Just how bad. I did not realize how much of a slaughter this was going to be. Michael Knowles, I think, put the whole thing best, which was obviously it was a three-on-one debate and we'll talk a little bit about that. Obviously it was a three-on-one debate and we'll talk a little bit about that. But the reality is that JD Vance did to the moderators and Tim Walz what the Haitians are doing to the cats and dogs. I think that's the best picture. I think it's hilarious, but I think it's a good illustration. It's true that JD Vance was destroying everything, like he walked through and calmly. I mean, I'll give you an example of this, I'll give you a fantastic example. You want to know how he introduced himself, like when he first got to start talking. You want to know what he did. He took their story from them. He destroyed their story.

Speaker 3:

Let me remind you, every single time they've been asked a question, like without fail, they've almost consistently responded by saying something like oh, I don't know. They come from a working class background, they come from a working class family. They've said that like every single time. They're asked about anything gun control, healthcare. They're asked about housing costs. They're asked about rising taxes. They're asked about grocery costs, inflation, tariffs. Every time they're asked about anything, the response is well, I grew up in a working class background. So before Tim Walz did anything, you have you have Judy Vance who gets up there and he goes quote.

Speaker 3:

I was raised in a working class family. My mother required food assistance for periods of her life. My grandmother required social security to help raise me and she raised me in part because my own mother struggled with addiction for a big chunk of my early life. I went to college on the GI Bill. After I enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Iraq, and so I stand here asking to be your vice president, with extraordinary gratitude for the country, for the American dream that made it possible for me to live my dreams. I want to try to convince you tonight, over the next 90 minutes, that if we get better leadership in the White House, if we get Donald Trump back in the White House, the American dream is going to be attainable. Once again, that took any air from underneath the wings of anything Tim Walz could have done, because that was their. That was their whole. That's been their whole shtick, the entirety of their campaign.

Speaker 3:

The campaign has literally been nothing but empty platitudes about being from the working class. They've answered every question like that, and so when JD, like I said, he treated it like an actual debate, he did not treat it like a campaign event, though it ended up being that he did not go into it and this isn't to diss Trump, but he did not go into it thinking that he's going to just waltz in there. Haha, get it, pun intended. He's just going to waltz in there and just use it as more fodder for the campaign. He wanted to go in there and actually win the debate, and part of that is the strategy that he employed. Part of that is the strategy that he employed beginning with asserting like seriously, this matters, asserting dominance in the nature of how he introduced himself, which was to say, I come from a working-class family that struggled with addiction, so I understand and he used that later to talk about fentanyl at the border. My mom struggled with opioid addiction, so I know what that's like and it has to stop.

Speaker 3:

It was constantly going back to that in an obviously more reasonable and understanding way than Tim Walz or Kamala Harris has been able to, and it took the air right from under them. There was nothing they could do about it, and so when Tim Walz tried to say it, people were like, eh, ok, it didn't have any of the same effect that it may have had regularly, because JD Vance already did it and I was thoroughly impressed with his performance. But there's so much more. First of all, I want to again talk about the moderators. They were maybe better than they were in the Kamala Harris-Donald Trump debate, but not by much.

Speaker 3:

Realistically, multiple times they fact-checked JD Vance and multiple times, when they were talking to Tim Walz, they said would you like to respond, governor? And then went specifically to his allegation of this. Like one example is they literally said would you like to respond to his allegation that Kamala is letting drug cartels across the border or illegal immigrants just roam free? And it's like why are you giving him the cheat code? I know why you are, that's a rhetorical question, but they gave him the cheat code. I know why you are, that's a rhetorical question. But they gave him the cheat code Every time. He was standing there waiting to answer. Multiple times they were like would you like to respond specifically to this? Like telling him here's, by the way, what voters are going to care about. We need you to respond to this. They were literally setting him up and he still just failed miserably.

Speaker 3:

And I don't think that's a lack of debate experience. I don't think that's a lack of debate experience. I don't think it's because he's a bad debater. I think it's because I don't think even they expected JD Vance to be quite as good as he was. He was a superstar. I mean so much a superstar that if you look on right-wing media right now, if you go to any source that is leaning right, almost everyone is talking about how JD Vance is the and they're going to get him elected because JD Vance is fantastic. I agree with that. I just think JD Vance is one of the smartest Republicans we have right now. But my point in saying that is not to say that I'm on board with everything everybody else is saying, but what I am saying is it's pretty obvious how well he performed if you just get on social media, because everyone, including the leftists, went crazy trying to justify what happened.

Speaker 3:

But I want to talk a little bit actually specifically about that fact check, because they fact checked him live about the Haitian immigrants. This was the biggest one. They did it multiple times. But about the Haitian immigrants, right, he said the illegals in, basically, he said that there were, there were illegals in Springfield, right, saying that they've imported illegals all across the country and Springfield, ohio is having to deal with it. Right, and the moderators like, like, completely immediately, were like, actually, we'd like to clarify for the audience that, as it turns out, those are actually legal, they have legal status, those are legal immigrants, right?

Speaker 3:

By the way, cbs said in advance they were not going to fact check, that they were going to allow the other person, the competitors, to fact check each other, and they broke that rule. They didn't break it really for Tim Walz. There were a couple times where they actually did push Tim Walz and I was pleasantly surprised by it, but they fact-checked him after saying they weren't going to. And so when he pointed out these weren't the rules, of course the left is digging into that, like you have Jasmine Crockett. She's here in Texas who said we're mad about being fact-checked. Or like there's another person making a joke about how he gets fact-checked, he says well, that's not the rules. Like upset about it. It's like you would also be upset if there were rules to protect you from people you knew were biased against you and then they broke those rules.

Speaker 3:

But and again this showcased the masterclass that was the debate performance of JD Vance last night because he didn't give in to that, he did not lose his cool, though he refused to back down to that. He started. He got on his microphone the moment they said that and said, actually, margaret, and corrected her about how you're saying legal status, but that's because Kamala Harris is orchestrated in such a way that she waves her wand and she's able to just give these people legal status. That doesn't make a legal person. They didn't apply for a green card and wait the time and she goes. Well, thank you for describing the legal process. We're gonna have to move on.

Speaker 3:

And he keeps going. He keeps saying, no, you're not gonna fact check me and then refuse to allow me to respond after you said you weren't even gonna fact check. That's ridiculous. Then they muted his mic to save face because they didn't expect him to stand up like that. So he got quiet, just kind of stood there and smiled and it's like the dude just destroyed the moderators. Because if you end and this is something coming from a debate background If by the end of the performance you're standing there realizing that you're smiling and people are kind of smiling and the people that you're debating against had to basically get you to shut up and say stop it, and they're upset and they're trying to move on quickly. You won the point. Like that's point, vance, easy, like no question about it. And he knew that and the amount of times that he was just smiling at the camera like Walt would be talking. He'd be looking at Vance, he'd be looking at Walt while Walt is talking and then he'd kind of glance over, like in the office style, and look at the camera and be like, really, with a smirk on his face, like, are you guys hearing? This guy, this guy, uh.

Speaker 3:

I do want to talk about one thing that the moderators did right, because I'm going to roast them. I also need to give them props. Uh, they talked about tiananmen square in china and how tim waltz has claimed he was there in the summer of 89, uh, and said that he was there during the infamous, uh you know, situation that occurred. And they asked him. They said actually, as it turns out, people are reporting that you were not there, based on records or whatever, until August. He went into literally his answer to that one was like I came from a working class background. It's really funny. He actually did that again.

Speaker 3:

Then he moved on and started talking about how he was there in the summer of 89 and they reiterated, which I was proud of, they went. But we're specifically asking you said you were there in June and you said that because you said you witnessed the travesty, you witnessed the tragedy. Is that true? And he said well, look, I'm a knucklehead, I misspoke, and I'm just sitting there like, oh no, dude, like there was not a worse way you could have responded, other the only worst way you could have responded was by doubling down. He couldn't run away from it. Like he had to basically admit live on national television that he just lied out of his teeth and said well, I'm just, that's just how I am. I'm just a knucklehead, I made a mistake. It's like you're admitting to the American people that we can't trust you, like even if you're saying it wasn't intentional. That's almost worse, because we don't know when you're telling the truth or lying. Maybe you don't either If you're just going to make stuff up and say, well, you're just a knucklehead. Oh, my goodness, it was rough for Tim Walz up there, like every single turn. I mean, even people that are not fans of JD Vance, even people in the mainstream media on the left, have come out and said that he was present, that he was empathetic, that his responses to things were emotional.

Speaker 3:

Again, when he went into the border, instead of focusing on, he focused on mass deportations and he focused on that. But his way of doing it was masterfully done. The way he handled the border crisis and the housing crisis went hand in hand, saying, look, a lot of the problems with housing are that we don't have enough housing for the amount of people we're bringing over Supply and demand. We simply we don't have enough supply and so demand is crazy to the roof, which means prices are up, which means people can't afford to get a home and there's not enough homes to go around, and mass deportations would genuinely be a process to help the housing crisis. So if you can't afford a home, if you're struggling as a young person trying to afford a home, be aware that mass deportations are actually going to help you on more than just the immigration front.

Speaker 3:

Another thing about immigration you talk about the drug cartels and again he brought his mom into it and said look, my mom was an addict, I get it. He said and we're letting this fentanyl across, we're letting the drug cartels across. You're doing nothing about it. Your administration has done nothing to stop them, and that's why people are dying and they're addicted to all these things is because of what you've done, and he played the game so well. He did a fantastic job.

Speaker 3:

I really couldn't go into everything that went on. I mean, we could talk about how JD Vance went into, how he's read the bill that the governor signed Tim Waltz signed regarding abortion, and how a doctor who delivers a baby that survives abortion is under no obligation to give that baby life saving care. And Tim Waltz tried to say, well, that's not true, that's not what the bill says. And, jvs, can you tell me where it's wrong? It's barbaric. And Tim Waltz says no, no, it's not in there, it's not. Tell me how I'm wrong. He says, well, it's already been fact-checked, and then moved on. It was fact-checked at the last debate. The irony of saying I can't defend this position, but people have fact-checked you so you must be wrong, that's the whole point it was the whole point of a lot of the conversations were the fact-checking is fake news.

Speaker 3:

We don't trust the fact checkers.

Speaker 3:

I'm already pointing out they're lying about the Haitians, they're lying about abortion. They're lying on every single front. So tell me in your bill I don't want to fact check I want you, tim Walsh, to tell me in your bill how it's not the case. What destroyed Walt Scott during the debate? I mean the amount of memes that have come out of it. It was a butchering. It was not to mince words, it was a slaughterhouse in that room and JD Vance was the butcher. I mean he went to town strategically, quickly, efficiently, calm. There was I. There was very little he could have done better. There were. There were moments I didn't like. I didn't like some of his abortion answers. So I understand the reason he did approach abortion from the way that he did is because they're trying to get those middle votes. But I didn't agree with his answers and I didn't. I think he could have done it. Even I think he could have managed to be strong on being pro-life, as jay devance claims to be. I think he could have done that and still gone the way he went with it. He didn't do that. I'm a little bit disappointed that he seemed to kind of give up the rhetoric for the sake of votes. I think he could have still gotten the votes and held true to his principles. That bothered me, but other than that there was very little that upset me at all.

Speaker 3:

The dude did fantastic, uh, genuinely probably the best debate performance I've ever seen in politics, to be completely honest with you. I mean he pushed back against the war machine. He kind of cemented the Republican Party as being the party of peace. He said look what's going on right now, today, out there, you're allowing it. And they said well, actually you allowed.

Speaker 3:

Trump ended the thing with Iran that stopped marketing nuclear weapons. He goes see what I'm saying, these empty platitudes. You can say he stopped this, he stopped that. I don't remember them developing this. In fact, in your same sentence he says to Tim Walz he said your same sentence.

Speaker 3:

You admit. You admit point blank to the American people that Iran has never been closer to a nuclear weapon. How have they been getting closer over the last three and a half years, because your person has been in office? How have they been getting closer? Why didn't you stop them three and a half years ago. Why are they closer today than they've ever been? Why and Tim Walz has no answer.

Speaker 3:

And this is the critical turning of the Republican Party. They're the party, through Donald Trump, of peace. They have a lot of other problems. There's a lot of things they don't want to fix in the Republican Party, but this is why people are saying it's the future, is he's this peace. He's against the war machine, against the UTA party, while Kamala Harris is bragging about being endorsed by Dick Cheney, endorsed by the warmongering military-industrial complex. He's for a very, very long time, very, very long time. When we get back from the break, I'm going to wrap up the rest of my debate analysis, give it a nice little bow, and then we're going to move on to some more news from right here in Houston and throughout Texas, and then you're going to have Chris Plant on to, I'm sure, go over even more. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson.

Speaker 3:

You know one of the biggest conversations last night and I say that knowing full well there were a billion big conversations, so I'm being a little bit hyperbolic, but it's true, it was a big conversation, I'm not lying. One of the big conversations last night was centered around people's affordability. We're in class because, frankly look, I'll be honest with you we're human beings, right, and we have duties and obligations. And it's easy to get wrapped up in politics. It's easy to get wrapped up in reality and it's also really easy to be drawn back into the reminder of what matters to us. I'll give you a good example of this. It's easy to be watching Israel and Iran. It is easy to be watching any number of foreign things going on, of things going on at the border. These things all matter. I'm not denying that. I'm not saying that these things are unimportant, that the border's not on everyone's mind, that we shouldn't be heavily discussing and debating that. That's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is that a lot of that starts to pale the moment that you think about how much groceries are costing you, the moment you think about how much gas is costing you, the moment you think about how much your plane tickets cost to get somewhere I'm flying out. Speaking of, I'm going to announce now I'm going to be out for a couple of days coming up at the end of November to the beginning of December Thanksgiving weekend. I'll be out for a couple of days right after that because I'm going to a wedding up in Massachusetts and, I'll be honest with you, plane tickets are much more than they should have been and it's not surprising. But as somebody who used to fly fairly often through high school and starting college, even for a holiday weekend, the prices were high and that's become a significant part of the Kamala Harris administration has been those prices. And JD Vance masterfully brought it to that and said look, you can say what you want about the Inflation Reduction Act. You can say what you want about Donald Trump. And one of the most beautiful lines that I think I read that I listened to him say and I wanted to go back and I wanted to find the exact quote because it was nearly a perfect answer was here it is. He said you've got a tough job. You've got to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver rising take-home pay, which of course he did. You've got to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver lower inflation, which of course he did. And then you've got to defend Kamala Harris' atrocious economic record, which has made gas, groceries and housing unaffordable for American citizens. Boom, finish. That's the period at the end of the sentence walk away. That's the end. That's the end of the debate.

Speaker 3:

He won right there, point blank. Yeah, tim Walz had a couple of hits where he had about January 6th and it was pretty obvious that JD Vance was giving a non-answer. Right, though he did it much better than I've seen almost anybody give a non-answer, it was still a non-answer. It was still obvious it was a non-answer and Tim Waltz was smart to note that it was a damning non-answer. Whatever, tim Waltz had a couple of okay moments, but the reality is that that right there alone wins the debate JD Vance and the Tim Waltz debate. I actually enjoyed it, not just because of the skill, not just because of the skillfulness and who won and because my side won. I enjoyed it because of the decorum.

Speaker 3:

These guys did not yell at each other. These guys were realistically. They really weren't rude to each other. They were JD Vance mentioned multiple times. Look after this, we're going to go shake hands. We can get upset if we want. We're going to go shake hands. We can get upset if we want. We're going to go shake hands after this. I'm going to wish you congratulations if you win. I hope I win, but if you don't, if I don't, you're going to get all of my prayers and all my support in Congress. I'm going to give you everything I can and that I've missed because Joe Biden was not that way. Look, I love Donald Trump, but Donald Trump is not that way. Kamala Harris is not that way, obama is not that way. None of these people are that way. They're all fake.

Speaker 3:

And JD Vance came off as sincerely honest and as sincerely a people person. He came off very likable, which was the one thing the media had tried to lie to you about with JD Vance, not that he was unintelligent, not that he was an idiot, but that he was weird and unlikable and stiff weird and unlikable and stiff. And he showed up to this debate and was like look, you have a tough job here because you've got to simultaneously pretend that Donald Trump didn't do those things. And then you've got to look at the past three and a half years, where everyone, everyone in the world, is aware that things are more expensive and you've got to pretend like she's done a good job and you have a tough job to do that. And multiple times JD Vance was going look you and I agree that these are problems. I think we both agree that we want to fix this. It's just a little bit of how we're going about it and I think the policies that will fix it best.

Speaker 3:

It was very much a decorum. It was very honest, very forthright and I think it was very respectful of each other in a way that we've not seen in American politics in decades longer, since I've been watching debates and it also just so happened that my side was the skillful, very intelligent winning side, so that was also nice. But the reality is he's right You've got to ignore Kamala's policies, because Kamala has made sure she has ensured in three and a half years that everything costs more and that you have less. You have less money. If you were to pull up your app right now for your bank account and you were to look at it and you were to say, and you were to compare it to your bank account even with promotions, you were to compare it to your bank account four years ago, five years ago how many people genuinely have more. Now, hopefully, while you're on that app, what you can do is you can then swipe up or hit the home button and then you can go to a website. You can type in our sponsor's website, oldglorybankcom, and get a new app. It's going to show you the same number. Technically speaking, your money's not going to go up for doing this, but it'll look better on the screen because Old Glory Bank is a better bank. It's just true. So go to oldglorybankcom, old Glory Bank.

Speaker 3:

Look, they could take political sides I'm sure they could take political sides in debates, but they don't do that. They're not over here talking about the JD Vance debate. They're not over here talking about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. They're not talking about these things. You know what they're talking about. The kind of things they care about is our service members. They care about our first responders. They care about our veterans.

Speaker 3:

I can tell you right now they care about what's going on over in North Carolina, out in Asheville, specifically out in these cities, brownsville. They care about what's going on in Florida and Georgia and Alabama and Tennessee and Virginia. They care about Americans and they care about American values. They don't purport to really be a political company. All they purport to be is an American company, a company that's not only based in America but thrives in America, because the company loves America and, by extension, they love the people that make up America. They love you, and you're not going to find that at any other bank in the world, to be completely honest with you, unless you go to oldglorybankcom. So go to oldglorybankcom to make the switch over to a bank that loves you and a bank that loves your country, as Visit wwwfcsegallowsingcom.

Speaker 3:

Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. It's good to be with you this morning. The sun is finally up, which means it's about to get very hot very quickly. That's unfortunate, but the sun's up, so stop complaining. Look, at least two would-be burglars opened fire on a business owner after he went outside to stop them from breaking into his company vehicles. It happened just after 1 am, saturday in the meadows of Clear Creek, subdivision of Southeast Harris County.

Speaker 3:

Pablo, oh man, I'm scared to say this name. I think I should get better, when I do my show prep, of specifically saying out the name multiple times to make sure that I feel comfortable saying that name on air. It is Pablo Kovarubias, kovarubias, kovarubias, kovarubias, kovarubias. Yeah, I don't know. He said his 19-year-old son woke him up and told him the suspects were trying to break into two vehicles he uses for his HVAC company, which is not to diss anybody. But I'm telling you right now that just I was raised differently and I actually would think this is a smarter idea. If you're 19 and you're still at home, you should get your dad. I think that's probably the case. If I was 19 years old and there was somebody and I saw them outside, I tried to break into my dad's car, tell you right now I would not have the self-control to go get my dad first. I'd be out there. That might get me killed genuinely. But I'm telling you, maybe it's years ago. Yeah, I can tell you I would have been outside not waking my dad up. Maybe I would have woken my dad up but then said I'm going Anyways quote. There was no time to react. I mean, I just had my pistol right there on the side of my bed and I got up. Surveillance video shows him walking outside. Only makes it a few steps when the suspects open fire. Kavarubias returns fire and the suspects speed away in what he believes may have been a black BMW. One of the bullets hit a jack-o'-lantern on his porch, but it's still unclear where his shots may have landed. From Sergeant Hector Vega, with the Harris County Precinct to Constable's office quote. We don't know if the perpetrators, the suspects, were hit. They've still not been identified and the constable's office is asking anyone with information to call them.

Speaker 3:

They're also encouraging people to be cautious when defending their property. Quote protecting your property. We have a right to do that, but we have to be mindful. We don't know what they're carrying. We don't know their mindset, whatever their mindset was before.

Speaker 3:

Here's what Pablo said about it. He said I think next time they'll think twice, hopefully that you can't just go around taking people's property. So this guy is not expressing like fear. He's not saying like I shouldn't have done that, that was unwise, it wasn't worth my cars. He's saying no, no, that's my life, that's my business and that's what I think people don't realize about a lot of property damage.

Speaker 3:

It's one thing if you're breaking and robbing someone's stuff. It's another thing when you've got a man who is an entrepreneur, which is usually, you're like, an actual legit business owner. If you call yourself an entrepreneur and this is not always true, but a lot of times it's especially in my generation at least a key word, for I'm trying my very darned best to create a business. I'm just, I'm really struggling Technically. I have a business. I do make money. It's just very hard. I'm very, it's very, it's very difficult.

Speaker 3:

Usually entrepreneurs with with a couple of HVAC vehicles, maybe he's doing well, but I can tell you right now that's his life, that is his livelihood. He's not an employee. Where something goes wrong, the company will figure it out. That's his life. And when you try to take away a man's life, which, again, one of the main duties of a man is to provide for his home. When you try to take away one of his main duties and his ability to perform that duty, if you think he's going to fear you more than he fears his inability to provide for his house, you're sorely mistaken. And you don't know how guys are. So he goes out there unabashedly, unafraid, takes them on. They flee away. He protects his property. So it's a good story. It's a good ending.

Speaker 3:

It's sad that we've come here as a city where this is pretty consistent, where, when I mentioned Houston News, it's pretty unshocking that I'm going to talk about crime problems that can be fixed. Elections have consequences. Who you elect matters. The district attorney you have matters If you think crime is bad now, just you wait. If you allow Sean Teer to be elected over Dan Simons, it's going to be miserable. It's going to be awful, that and the other. The reality is that what this guy did was good.

Speaker 3:

It is a good thing to protect your home, to protect your family and to protect your property. That's a good thing. The Democrats don't want you able to do that. In fact, they would much rather criminals be able to show up and face no repercussions at all. That's why they say be very cautious protecting your property, be very cautious protecting your home. And also, we'd like to take your guns away. So you can't even do it. Then you should be really cautious because you have no way to defend yourself.

Speaker 3:

Well, if our sponsor, gun Owners of America, has anything to say about it, they'll never be able to do that. They will not be able to take your guns. They can threaten you all they want, they can tell you to be cautious, but it is your God-given right to protect your HVAC, hvac vans. I'm telling you right now if you have an HVAC, if you have an HVAC van, it is your God-given right to defend it. It is your God-given right to defend your home, to defend your property, to defend your business. God has given you that right as a man or as a woman, and you are more than allowed, sometimes even oblig, obligated, to do so.

Speaker 3:

The left hates it. They hate responsibility, they hate masculinity especially. But gun owners of america doesn't? They understand that there's a time and place to stand up for your property, for your home, for your family, and they understand that. If the democrats got it their way, they'd take that all away, which is why Gun Owners of America is fighting every single day as the best grassroots organization for gun advocacy in the nation, to ensure that your rights are not disappearing, that actually they're growing. They're actually fighting to reduce carry regulations rather than allow them to be increased. They're actually fighting to get rid of gun-free zones, not just trying to stop them from expanding, but actively fighting to end them once and for all. They're fighting to enforce an enshrined constitutional carry across the nation because, as I pointed out time and time again, if it is your right to defend your home with a firearm, then no license or lack of a license should be able to tell you you can or can't do so. At the end of the day, gunners of America are there, they're on the front lines. They're fighting the fight and it is more important than ever that you become a member today to ensure they're able to continue doing so At just $25 per year. You couldn't find a better deal for a cheap streaming service. You got to join, you got to become a member. That's gunnersorg. Make the decision today to ensure that your rights, the rights of your children, the rights of your grandchildren are not trampled on and that if you wind up in a situation where your vans are being broken into, you have the full right to defend your home.

Speaker 3:

Speaking of defending your home, I feel really bad about the story I'm about to go into. It's just more evidence of the actual incompetence here in Houston. So deputy body cam video shows deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's office surrounding the home of Dean Deitch in December of 2023. Now Deitch said he was sleeping and initially thought he was being robbed Quote. They had their guns out and are hiding behind a tree. I'm like oh my goodness, they want to come get me. For some reason, I get my squirrel rifle and my single shot shotgun. I came out with my shotgun raised, trying to defend my home. That's when it all escalated. Video shows deputy started screaming at him to drop his guns. Deech closes the garage door, puts his gun inside and comes back outside. Deputies yelled him to lie on the ground. Then he was handcuffed and charged with aggravated assault against a public servant quote. My mind was obviously they had the wrong address because I'm just sleeping waiting to go to ihop in the morning. I didn't get to go to ihop.

Speaker 3:

I got to go to jail for a couple of days, man, you don't understand how bad your day would be If you're literally laying in bed and you're actually legitimately and I've had this mornings where you're like, actually I really you know what I want in the morning to eat. I want this and I'm going to. I've had the thought with IHOP. I've had the thought with numerous restaurants. I've been like, you know, I'm really considering hitting up Waffle House the morning. You know miserable it would be to be woken up by the sound of police officers outside who arrest me, take me to jail instead of taking me to waffle house. It'd be miserable, like on top of going to jail alone, like missing out on something you were planning on. Eating is always a bad time. So I feel really bad for the guy.

Speaker 3:

Um, according to the sheriff's office, deputies were called out to deech's address on a disturbance call, but deech believes the caller got the address wrong. He thinks the call may have been meant for a home nearby where his neighbors had been throwing a large party. Unfortunately, it took seven months for the felony charge against Deitch to be dismissed. I'm in shock, of course. He said I'm mad because what did I do? It's a mental and financial shock. He's still out more than $30,000 because he's responsible for his attorney fees and the bond he paid is non-refundable because he had to go through a bond company in order to afford it. And this is what I'm talking about. If he spent $30,000, how much do you think? How much do you think you spent on the people prosecuting? It took seven months for us to clearly figure out that he thought people were breaking into his home and that he was not the center of the call. Why did it possibly take our court system seven months to discover this guy was innocent? Like seriously, you knock on his door with a no-knock warrant I guess it was not a no-knock warrant, excuse my misspeaking. You knock on his door in the middle of the night. It was 1am. You knock on his door Middle of the night. He's waiting to get up and go to breakfast soon.

Speaker 3:

And what you think? Oh yeah, he's just going to come out peacefully and not be shocked at all. So he comes out reasonably, especially being in Texas, especially being in Houston, with a gun, as any reasonable person would do. He gets told to put them back inside and they charge him with aggravated assault of a public servant. For what? There was no assault at all at all and you can watch the body cam footage. I am one of the biggest supporters. You'll find police.

Speaker 3:

But I don't think there's a time and place where we say like, clearly our system is making mistakes and when you're showing up to people's doors with the wrong address, you're yelling at them, you're you're charging them with aggravated assault because they brought a gun outside when people knocked on their door in the middle of the night in houston, and then it takes seven months. There's a combo problem between the court system, the judges, the police, our police, our system in Houston, in Harris County, is broken and we have to fix this all across. You need a new sheriff. You've got to elect Mike Knox. You need a new district attorney, need new judges. We have to fix this because this has become an ongoing problem and it's absolutely ridiculous that we've reached this point in the first place. Become an ongoing problem and it's it's absolutely ridiculous that we've reached this point in the first place.

Speaker 3:

There should never have been a point in houston where somebody reasonably goes outside with a gun to defend himself, just in case, and is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant, when they, by the way, clearly got the address wrong. It's pretty obvious when they showed up, that there was no disturbance at all. They showed up and the dude was asleep and so this was. You could write this off as like a worst-case scenario. You could write this off as like, well, it's just unfortunate. And maybe, maybe if he had been booked into jail for a couple days and then they had done a pre-trial whatever and the cases the court had immediately dropped the case and said, no, you're right, this is pretty obvious, that would have been one thing.

Speaker 3:

But $30,000 that he doesn't get back. I mean, you're trying to give hundreds of dollars a month, you're trying to spend millions of dollars on making sure that people have universal basic income for nothing, but we can't avoid $30,000 for the fees of a man who we incorrectly and wrongly prosecuted. It makes absolutely no sense. And wrongly prosecuted, it makes absolutely no sense. Like, if anything, if you believe the tax dollars should ever be given to a person individually, like as money, this would be the person to get it. A man who was incorrectly, wrongly prosecuted for seven months, seven months of his life, all for him to have to cover all the fees that he had to incur to defend himself and to not be in jail. It's preposterous. Our system is broken. It is broken left and right and all the way around. And the only way that we have any shot at fixing the broken system is if one we're willing to admit that it's broken. But, even bigger than that, we're willing to do something. I mean, we talked about Whitesboro as a good example, because Whitesboro was fully intending to pass a 30 percent tax increase in this small city and the citizens showed up like crazy. And you want to know what happened. In a matter of three and a half hours, it went from almost a done deal to a no new revenue rate at all.

Speaker 3:

That is the power of a constitutional republic. We are not a dictatorship, we are not an oligarchy, we are not a monarchy as it stands right now. We, the people. That's how it starts. There's a reason. We, the people, formed a union. It's us, us. We are in charge. They merely represent us, and when they fail at representing us, you know what you do you kick them out. You say well then, fine, be gone. And we've not taken that power in a long time, and it's time that we do so.

Speaker 3:

We don't want the 30% tax increase, we don't want the pickleball courts. We don't want the new toilets, we don't want the nice renovation to City Hall. We would much rather have money in our pockets and not spend extra $100 every year for a 30% tax increase. You here in Harris County, you here in Houston? You people, we have the same opportunity. Or Harris County or you live in Galveston County. Regardless of where you are, you have the full opportunity to genuinely make a difference by your vote and by showing up to city council meetings, showing up to commissioner court, showing up and speaking the truth. Speaking of speaking the truth. When we get back, we're going to real quickly touch on the LaPorte pipeline fire update and then just a couple more things before we wrap up the show for the day. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson. We'll be right back.

Speaker 3:

Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson, and to wrap up the show, I'm going to go ahead and dive into La Porte. So it's been about two weeks since the pipeline fire we talked about in La Porte changed the lives of dozens of people. Police say 51-year-old, so last we talked about we just knew there was a white SUV. That was kind of the problem. No-transcript, as families in the nearby neighborhood are left with costly repairs.

Speaker 3:

Two weeks later, the people at Ace Meadow Drive are still dealing with the aftermath of the grueling heat brought from a flame hundreds of feet in the air and out of a pipeline, coming from a home to being homeless. I mean that's ridiculous for something we didn't ask for. That's from Marion Rodriguez. She's one of several neighbors whose homes were damaged from the fire raining off the ground and water coming from the firefighters trying to protect them. Our room had basically the most damage. The whole thing was full of water. Homes suffered water damage, roofs need replacement, windows are boarded up and families are hurting. We're holding up. We're just trying to get it all back together now. On the outside, cracks can be seen on on the bricks of Rodriguez's home. Quote when the pipe blew up, the house went like this and some of the bricks throughout the whole house expanded. It's mentally draining for people At this point. Neighbors said they've had several adjusters and contractors help them fully understand how badly their homes got damaged and receive estimates on how much this flaw cost Quote. At this point I'm going to submit everything through my insurance company and let them fight for us. I'm not willing to fight with a company to help me out with anything. I don't have the energy for that anymore. She says she feels defeated and unhelped by the owners of the energy transfer pipeline. Other neighbors said that they'd asked for receipts to reimburse the families for the damage. So that's still ongoing. Families are struggling all across the nation, but they're also here right at home in La Porte from that pipeline fire. So thoughts and prayers go out to them from us here at Patriot Talk 920. 20. We wish them the best. We hope that everything works out with the company, that they're able to get the reimbursements fairly easily, that doesn't turn into a bigger problem, these people are able to get their homes back and and all be okay. That's our, that's our wishes for them.

Speaker 3:

So to wrap up the show, I got a couple of things from today in history. I got. I got two today in histories that I think I'd like to really hit on. The first, today in history, is coming from October the 2nd of 1835, which is when the people of Gonzales refused to give up their cannon. If you don't know what that is, maybe you've seen it it's a little flag that says come and take it. That's where the flag comes from. So today, 189 years later, we should have the same attitude regarding our rights and liberties. We should look at the federal government and say come and take it. We should be unafraid, we should be unwilling to give up our rights. So that's the really cool thing about today in history is the moment when people woke up and realized come and take it. If you want our stuff, if you want our for a good analogy if you want our guns, if you want to take our guns away Kamala, tim, robert, francis if you want to take our guns away, come and take them. See how it goes for you, see what happens. The other really beautiful today in history moment that I want to touch on because there were two really important ones that are going to have an incredible impact on the world. The first was come and take it. The second was the birth of my son, asher Wayne Wilson. Asher is turning two years old today. I was born back on October 2nd of 2022.

Speaker 3:

So this day in history is for my two-year-old son, little Ash man. He is the cutest little boy I've ever seen and I'll tell you one of my absolute favorite things about him is not that he's smart, though he is. He is very smart, very gifted. He gets that from his mama and it's what he uses his intelligence for, because he is one of the sweetest little boys I've ever met. He likes to compliment people. He likes to make jokes and make people laugh. But the biggest thing I love and I discovered this just a few weeks ago I asked him is daddy your favorite? He looks at me dead in the eyes. He goes no. And I go oh, is mama your favorite? I'm expecting an immediate yes and I go. He goes no. I said are you your favorite? Asking him if it's him, maybe he's his own favorite person. He thinks for a second. He goes no. I'm like, okay, who's your favorite? And he just looks me dead in the eyes. He goes Jesus. I go Jesus is your favorite. And he excitedly tells me that that's correct.

Speaker 3:

Every night, before he goes to bed, if I don't remember he reminds me or my wife whoever's putting him down to pray. Before meals he reminds us pray. If you're about to eat and you ask him what do we need to do, he'll go pray and then he'll reach his hand out and hold your hand and then when you finish, he'll say amen. When we're singing songs at church, we're singing hymns. He'll sit there dancing in my wife's arms while we're singing hymns. He'll say they're kind of swaying back and forth and then when the hymn is over, you know what he'll do He'll say amen.

Speaker 3:

It is a beautiful testament to the power of Christ in a child's life. When you read scripture and it says, oh, the faith of a child, let the little children come to me. You don't understand that unless you either are a child or you have a child. Child or you have a child, because the beauty is immense and as a father I'm tempted to be proud that my son is so smart that he knows so many words. You know I can say, oh, he's ahead of the average on this. But really the thing I'm most proud of isn't none any of that.

Speaker 3:

Every year. The thing I'm most proud of is the fact that he loves Jesus, that he loves his family, that when friends come over he gives them bites of his food, he shares his toys without being asked. He is a genuinely good little boy through the power of Christ, and I could not be prouder of my little two-year-old. So happy birthday, asher. I could not be prouder of my little two-year-old. So happy birthday, asher.

Speaker 3:

This will be put in a podcast form so I'm sure he'll be able to go back and listen to this and be embarrassed when he's 18 years old. But his father every year wished him happy birthday over the radio waves. But it's pretty cool, because I love him very much and I truly I'll get to go home and wish him a happy birthday in person. He'll run up to me and say Daddy, I love you. I give him a big old hug. Happy birthday, asher. And happy birthday to the men and women who stood up and said come and take it. That's how I feel about it. If you come for my son, I'm throwing him in the military. In 17 years You've been listening to Lone Star Conservative. I'll see you guys tomorrow with lots more updates on everything going on. Until tomorrow, goodbye.
