from deep in the heart of texas, from houston's god-loving patriot and the voice of reason. This is the lone star conservative michael wilson.
Speaker 2:I'll get a bandaid tonight, I'll order us a beer. We can sit down right here and scream and yell and cuss, and cuss and fight.
Speaker 3:Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. It's good to be with you. This morning I was watching a stream so a stream on Kik. Kik, if you've not heard of it, is like another of the free speech platforms, but it was originally designed as a free speech live stream platform. So Rumble was similar to a competitor for YouTube. It has a streaming feature where you can be live, but that's not its main effect. Its main effect is the video content, whereas Kik was designed to be a competitor to Twitch and Twitch was like the original gamer livestream service.
Speaker 3:So I was watching a video, a livestream on Kik, and it was on Aiden Ross's stream. If you've not heard of him, he's one of the most popular Kik streamers. He was originally one of the most popular Twitch streamers before he got kicked off. He's been friends with the Tate Sneeko this group of people. Anyways, I was listening to an Aiden Ross stream because he had Nick Fuentes and he had Dean Withers debating two very distant sides of a very distant debate.
Speaker 3:It's incredibly entertaining because you have one side trying to support tariffs, the other side saying that tariffs automatically are a consumption tax, which is insane. A lot of conversations, but I heavily enjoy. I'm entertained by watching two people, many instances, both of whom are wrong, but I enjoy watching two people who are both gifted debaters do their thing. It's very entertaining. It's more entertaining than a Netflix show to watch two people who are very passionate and very smart debate two opposite sides of a topic. It's very enjoyable.
Speaker 3:What's not enjoyable is what's going on still in the east of the. Still in the east United States. The death toll over there has officially surpassed 190 people. That number is still expected to continue rising, given how many people are still missing, not found, unaccounted for. As of this point, hurricane Helene is the second deadliest hurricane since 1969, second only to, of course, hurricane Katrina in 2005, which was devastating, and the federal government is now. They announced yesterday a $750 program. Like, literally, the American gets $750. I feel like that's a huge help when your house is gone. Like, maybe I'm underestimating the cost of housing over there. Maybe Texas has higher housing costs and in North Carolina you can buy a house for a grand or something like that, but over here, $750 would make a dent in. Like, maybe your grocery bill, maybe. Like, maybe your grocery bill, maybe, and so while we're giving tens of billions, hundreds of billions of dollars to foreign countries. They're announcing a 750 program for the everyday american who is devastated by catastrophe. That should tell you everything you need to know as the difference between the two administrations.
Speaker 3:Because Donald Trump insanely cut foreign funding he pulled us out of so many programs, said we're not doing this. This is ridiculous. We're funding all these things for no good reason. He said we're not going to do foreign wars, we're not playing the game, we're taking our money back and gave that money back to Americans. He funded so many more projects for America, that money back to Americans. He funded so many more projects for America.
Speaker 3:And meanwhile you have Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, who you have one of the greatest natural disasters we've seen in the last few decades roll through an area that it was never expected to hit, that never, never expected nor prepared for such a situation, and your government is doing basically nothing. They're doing very little. They're like well, we deployed a couple thousand, this, a couple thousand that Give you $750. And that's it. And it's taken them a week to do even that, and so people are fed up. I couldn't imagine going through that and ever coming out the other side voting for Kamala Harris. I couldn't do it. Probably very few of those people will.
Speaker 3:There are good stories coming out of it, like, of course, the Fox weather. He heard a woman's desperate cries for help in Peachtree Creek. He heard her screaming out, so she had apparently driven into the water and was trapped in her car while it was still dark out. The sun hadn't risen yet and so, without even pausing, this dude, bob Van Dillon, waded into the chest deep water and went against the current to get to this lady. He pulled her to safety and then carried her on his back through the floodwaters back to dry land. They found her husband, all this stuff.
Speaker 3:But there's a lot of stories like that, and the reason I bring that up is what I often try to present. Whenever I present reactionary anything, whenever I present anything negative at all, I tell people, one, we should talk about the positive, and two and this is extension of that we should make sure that if we're going to say things are bad, we have an alternative of things that are good. If we want to say that all the movies in the mainstream are garbage, the response should not be they're garbage, so just never watch a movie. The response would be. They're garbage. So let's start giving our money to companies that make good movies. Let's start going to see better movies. Let's start telling the industry what we want by refusing to attend these disgusting movies you know, refusing to, to, to, to bow down and say I'm willing to witness this, this horrendous film, and instead say no, you know what this movie was good. Let's go watch this movie Like.
Speaker 3:I'm genuinely upset because there are a decent number of movies where they're clearly designed for children, like puss in boots, puss in boots, the last wish. It came out a year or two ago and it's one of, like, the highly, most highly rated kids films in the last decade. Puss in boots, the last wish. They're like ah for great, for all ages and it's entertaining even for adults, which is true I did.
Speaker 3:I was not aware when I played it at my house that this movie has multiple cuss words in it and I've got my young son Now, of course, he's too young. He was too young to speak at the time, so it didn't really have that much of an impact. But the reality is that you're watching this kid's movie, they. The reality is that you're watching this kid's movie. They're putting cuss words in them. Now they're saying they're PG, and it used to be that PG meant like maybe they'll have the word butt in there. It's not the case anymore, and the problem is that as long as we are OK with that and we're like, yeah, we'll just go see it anyways. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is.
Speaker 3:The markets, the Overton window, is going to continue moving to the left, because we're not saying no, we refuse. If you make a movie that has that, we're not going to go see it. And so now I scout out the films. I didn't think I used to scout out adult films. Now I'm scouting out to make sure that the kids' films don't have bad content in them.
Speaker 3:But the reality is that's happening, and if we don't provide alternatives, or if we don't give people alternatives, or at least we don't notice alternatives, then there's no point in being reactionary. It's like looking at this world as bad. You know what it results in. It just results in pure nihilism. That's all it goes to. If the only thing we have to say is well, this is bad and then that's it, that's the end of the conversation, then the reality is that it doesn't matter who cares and, as many philosophers have noted. If that really is true, then it doesn't matter anyways. This is all ridiculous. There's no point, it's literally pointless. And so what we have to be very wary of is that we get so down about a lot of the bad stuff going on that we refuse to note the good and we allow it to completely control the way that we view the world.
Speaker 3:Yes, your federal government under the current administration genuinely hates you. You you have to turn no further than looking at your own economy, looking at your inflation rates, looking at housing costs, looking at the way they're handling catastrophe in the us, looking at immigration and border reform. You don't have to look any further than any of the basic, just surface level things to notice that your current administration government does not care about you at all. Not one iota. But if all we say is your government doesn't care about you, nobody cares about you, move on, then we failed, we lost. That's not the case. Your government does not care about you. But you know who does? Your neighbors, your neighbors, care about you really.
Speaker 3:If you look at north carolina the number one helper in north carolina, in the ashville, in the ashville area if you look through alabama, if you look through georgia, if you look through North Carolina the number one helper in North Carolina in the Asheville area. If you look through Alabama, if you look through Georgia, if you look through Tennessee, if you look at the number one group of people helping, it's people coming from all across the country, like literally just showing up and doing what they can, people donating to GoFundMes and whatnot to get some sort of help to these people. To get some sort of help to these people. It's the American people, and there's so many videos of people from neighboring counties who weren't hit so hard driving in and picking people up. There are videos of people welcoming people into their home that live two or three hours away. Like this is actually happening, that American citizens are being good neighbors, that every time there's a catastrophe, this is the case. If you were around for Hurricane Beryl or Hurricane Ike, any hurricane that's hit here, you've looked around and you've watched as people, for no pay, nothing at all, have volunteered their time to go help their neighbors. That is what makes America great. It is, and that's why I still have hope, because so long as America is a culture where you have and let's be honest, do you know what? The only culture that has ever behaved in such a neighborly way is Christianity. That's it. And so, as long as we are still a Christian enough nation, when there are catastrophes, you see people genuinely out of the goodness of their own heart choosing to show up and help, there is still hope for this nation. I refuse to give up under such odds. I refuse to do it.
Speaker 3:So our weather today has a high of 95 degrees, so it's going to be warm. It's currently 71 outside, but, as I've said, the cooler weather is coming. You just got to hold on. You know, hold on, we'll make it. You know, hold on, we'll make it. It's going to be unfortunate over the weekend, because the entire weekend it's supposed to be in the 90s, but after the weekend, and really after there's just maybe a week from today, we'll be in the low 80s. I mean, and usually I'd say that the weather disagrees, and the weather does slightly disagree on what exactly day it's going to be, but if you look out at the weather, pretty much both agree that by next weekend going forward, the end of next week, will finally be in the type of weather where the high is in the 80s, and there's even a couple of days in the next week where the highs are in the 70s. So it's slowly going to get beautiful out. It's going to be awesome. I'm very excited for the weather coming up.
Speaker 3:What I'm not excited about, what I'm actually very upset about, is the Astros. Because what happened? Can someone? What happened? We were supposed to win the World Series guys. What are we doing? We to win the World Series guys? What are we doing? We showed up and we lost both games in the first round, the wild card round. We lost. It was just over. Astros are done.
Speaker 3:It was so anticlimactic too, because yesterday was my son's birthday so I wasn't able to. I wanted to go to a game, and especially because the tickets were selling for like $10. If you waited until about half an hour before the game, the tickets were going for like $4, $3. And I was like, ah, $3 for a ticket, I could just go watch the game. I'm kind of glad I didn't, because I'd be even more frustrated if I had been there to witness that live. But I'm also very upset because I was thinking about going today, figuring something out, but now I won't get to go anymore this year, so we're going to have to win the world series next year.
Speaker 3:I suppose I also want to. I want to talk about one other thing, which is it's a story, but it's not. It's not a long enough story for me to tell you it's a story. It's more just a little number to give you guys about what's going on here in houston. So there's this guy, his name is matt and I I'm I'm scared to pronounce his last name because it's it's spelled z d u n, that that feels like a. Really. I want to say Zidane, but that seems like it would be really wrong, and maybe the Z is silent, I don't know. I'm just going to say Zidane.
Speaker 3:He's a data reporter and he dove into city records and learned that the concerns people have with their sidewalks if you have any concerns with your sidewalks living here in Harris County, there's a reason, he said, houstonians are very familiar with sidewalks. Living here in harris county, there's a reason, um, he said, houstonians are very familiar with sidewalks the bad, the good, even the ugly of sidewalks. He found that the last major survey of the city's nearly 6 000 miles of houston sidewalks was done back in 2022. Did you know that nearly 40 percent of all sidewalks across the city are are basically considered in poor or fair condition by the city. Like the city even considers about 40% of the sidewalks to be in poor or only barely not poor condition, the El Dorado Oats Prairie neighborhood was found to be in the worst shape, with around 21% of sidewalks.
Speaker 3:The city said that it set aside $3 million every year to build and repair sidewalks, but the money doesn't go far, with six-figure price tags attached to just a few miles of sidewalks. Quote a consistent theme across people that I talk to is that the city needs to find a pot of money to pay for building and repairing sidewalks. He goes by. Giving the people this information, they will be empowered to talk to city leaders about improvements they want to see in their neighborhoods. The craziest part of all of this, for no other reason than we call it universal basic income and we want to help in a way that doesn't help at all. If we actually cared about Houston, if your people that we have elected, if the people that we put in charge represent us here in the city locally, if they actually cared, we would not be putting millions of dollars towards a huge swath of the projects that we've taken on. We could get together a list of things, of corruption, of the amount of money that we've spent on things like universal basic income, of lawsuits that we've been on the receiving and the giving end of.
Speaker 3:We have spent so much money that we continually raise taxes and yet still most of our sidewalks are just bad. Why is that? And they say, well, we just don't have the funding. I hope we can get it. I hope people are willing to raise the taxes so that we can finally get these. No, people aren't willing to raise the taxes.
Speaker 3:Maybe you should just budget a little bit better. Maybe you should stop being so incompetent when it comes to using money, like the rest of America has the American people have started having to do. We actually have to budget every single day to make sure that we have money for our bills. Maybe you should do the same thing and fix our sidewalks and stop putting it towards things that literally don't matter at all. It's practically insane that we are taxed at such a high rate and yet they can't manage to fix the sidewalks. And then they blame us and say, well, we just don't have the money.
Speaker 3:Maybe if you gave us more?
Speaker 3:No, no, no.
Speaker 3:Maybe if you were just a little bit better at doing your job. Maybe, just maybe, just maybe we would see some sort of shift. But that's not going to happen if we don't change people, because the people we have in right now are completely unwilling and, frankly, incapable of changing at all. And so if we want anything to change, I think, frankly, we're going to have to really uproot a lot of what's going on here by uprooting in the elections who we've chosen. So that's really important. Going into each election cycle is ensure that you are getting as many people out to vote for the right candidates as you possibly can if you want to see even just basically the sidewalks fixed.
Speaker 3:Now we get back from the break, I'm going to jump into a story about speaking about taxes, about multiple different school districts here in Texas who yet again want to raise taxes, thinking that throwing more money at problems when they've already incurred enough debt is just magically going to fix problems. The rampant materialism here is crazy. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. We're going to talk about that when we get back. Stick around.

Speaker 3:So the school district trustees in Liberty Hill, manor, marble Falls and San Marcos have all put voter approval tax rate elections on the November ballot. So, unlike a bond, a voter approval tax rate election, which is, I want to say, vatry Pronunciation doesn't matter, it's just, you know, whatever, whatever, but it's a vatry. It raises the maintenance and operations tax rate, but it does not incur debt. So liberty hills vatry proposition, if passed, would basically set the school district tax rate at one dollar and 23 cents per hundred dollar property valuation, which would raise taxes on a medium value home to an additional 18 per month. Now that may not sound like a lot, but every year you're now spending another over $200, $200 every single year. Uh hello, anybody, every single family spending $200 extra every single year. That doesn't seem like a problem to anybody else. So Liberty Hills um, in the past six years that that district has reduced the poverty tax rate by 37 cents. The school district cites a lack of state funding, inflation and expiring federal funding for fast-growing districts as reasons for the tax increase. They're like oh, we've cut it before, but now we're struggling, so let's raise it all the way back up. They currently owe more than $700 million in taxpayer-backed debt Nice. In taxpayer-backed debt, nice, manor ISD's voter approval tax rate election seeks to raise the school district to $1.08. It's $1.08.14 per $100 property valuation for this school year. The proposed increase would add approximately $4.8 million annually to the operating budget. The district cites the loss of certain federal funding, rising operation costs and a need to increase teacher pay as reasons for the tax increase. Manor ISD currently owes more than $500 million in taxpayer-backed debt. Then you look over at Marble Falls, it's a similar thing. They're looking to the tax rate of $0.91, $0.91.22 per $200 property valuation, which is a $2.67 raise which would collect $2.2 million in additional funding if it's passed. It says the funds would be used to avoid large class sizes and continue funding class programs and offer competitive salaries. They currently owe $75 million in taxpayer-backed debt. And then in San Marcos, it's a similar thing. They're trying to increase the tax by 0.237 cents, which would make the tax rate over $1 and add $2.8 million to the district. Would make the tax rate over $1 and add $2.8 million to the district. So they plan to use the funds to offset the budget deficit, support salaries, provide instructional materials, safety equipment, whatever they owe more than $330 million currently in taxpayer-backed debt Quote.
Speaker 3:Texas taxpayers cannot afford higher taxes and it is irresponsible for school districts to attempt to burden Texas families even more. That's from Andrew McVeigh. He's the president of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. He said taxpayers should reject any batteries that are proposed and demand that their local governments live within their means, just like Texas families must do every single day, which is a point that I've consistently made on the show. It's that, look.
Speaker 3:I'm not saying that money is not a necessity. I'm not in the boat of saying taxation is automatically theft. There's a lot of libertarians who believe that. I do not. I think the taxation can, if used correctly, be a good thing. I think it's way overtaxed. I think we need nowhere near the money and the government is doing far too much. But the reality is that there are a lot of things where the obvious answer is you don't get any more money. You've gotten enough and realistically, you should be taking far less.
Speaker 3:That's not to say taxation is theft, but it is to say that politicians are some of the worst budgeters I've met in my entire life, and that is coming from someone who did an economics project in high school and found out that he was spending hundreds of dollars a month on Whataburger. So I am in a prime position to be able to say, when someone's really bad at budgeting and they are they are terrible at budgeting. Do you know how good we could make things if they just gave the money back? And that's why I am such a huge fan of school choice. Because that's what it is. It's basically a tax refund. That's essentially what it is. It may be a voucher that you can only use for this, that and the other, but if you have kids, it's basically a tax refund because you can actively use that money to actually give your children a good education in a good system. Right, because as it is now, they're so awful at budgeting that, realistically, the amount of money they're getting for these things, they should be producing some of the coolest facilities in the world, they should be producing some of the most state-of-the-art things, but they can't because they're incapable of budgeting and because they get their minds so set on well, we want this and that and this and that, and they're so consumption-oriented that, before you know it, they spent all of your money and now they're begging you to vote to increase it more. The answer is no. The answer is absolutely not.
Speaker 3:Each of these propositions are going to appear on the general election in those different school districts in November. It's going to be alongside the other election items, obviously. But don't do it. Don't vote for more taxes. You have little enough money. The only good thing about the amount of money you have is that you store it with our sponsor, old Glory Bank.
Speaker 3:You see, old Glory Bank, whether you're taxed at $1.50 or you're taxed at $0.75, they still care about you. Now, obviously, they're probably a little more worried about you if you're taxed at $1.50 per $100 property valuation. They're probably very concerned that how are you surviving? But they care about you nonetheless and they support the policies that has made America great, not inherently Republican policies, not inherently Democrat policies, but American policies, common sense policies, fiscal responsibility, things that realistically, other than a search for lust and power, you would not disagree with. That is Old Glory Bank. They have an innate desire simply to be American, because America, for a time perhaps again, has been the greatest nation on earth, and Old Glory Bank believes in the values that made it the greatest nation on earth. And old glory bank believes in the values that made it the greatest nation on earth and old glory bank believes in the things that make america great today and will make america great going forward.
Speaker 3:If that sounds like something that you agree with, if that sounds like something that you support, why are you not banking with them? Because, realistically, where you put your I've I've always said put your money where your mouth is. That's a pretty common statement across the board. What about where you store your money? If you're going to put your money where your mouth is, what about where you store it? Is that not equally, if not more, important? And so how can we prance around pretending to be conservatives and saying, oh, we believe in these things, and then you're storing your money at a bank that could not care less about you, could not care less about your values, could not care less about anything that you represent.
Speaker 3:Instead, for just eight minutes of your time, you can switch over to Old Glory Bank and go to oldglorybankcom to make the switch Again. It takes just eight minutes. Speaker 3:That's me, michael Wilson, and we're talking about Ken Paxton right now especially with early voting coming up very shortly, like we're less than three weeks away from the start of early voting, attorney General Ken Paxton is now really getting intense with his efforts to make sure that the state's top election official verifies and rightfully so the citizenship status of certain registered voters. So last month we talked about this before, but last month Ken Paxton sent a letter to Secretary of State Jane Nelson and he was basically urging her to seek assistance from the federal government. His request kind of stemmed from concerns about federal restrictions that hindered our ability as Texans to confirm the citizenship of status of voter registrants, that basically we were having serious problems not just on ensuring that the elections were secure but even prior to the actual election time, that the people that were registered to vote were even citizens in the first place, started to vote, were even citizens in the first place. According to Ken Paxton, those laws that were federal made it far more difficult for the state to ensure that non-citizens weren't voting. Even though it's technically illegal, the laws they had on the books made it difficult to ensure that legality was followed in the first place. So he emphasized, the federal government is bound to help states identify and on the day of his initial request back last month.
Speaker 3:Jane Nelson sent a letter immediately to US Citizenship and Immigration Services. The director His name is I can't even pronounce his name, but it's the director of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. However, her letter used a different language, nowhere near as urgent, basically just requesting assistance quote verifying or ascertaining the citizenship or immigration status of certain individuals on the state of Texas voter rolls. So then Paxton came back and his office criticized her approach, stating that her letter did not provide any information to the federal government about the individuals whose citizenship status needs to be verified, which defeats the purpose of the letter. That it was just a broad well, we need some help. And that was it. Of course we're not going to get anything out of that. He said we need to be intentionally specific. In fact, he actually said something. So two weeks later, in another letter he said, her office sent says her office and the National Security List potential non-citizen voters to the federal government for verification Quote.
Speaker 3:As our offices continue our cooperative efforts on the critical issue of election integrity, my office has identified information maintained by the secretary of state that will facilitate our efforts to prevent non-us citizens from casting illegal votes in texas elections and to investigate potential voter fraud. To that end, I formally request that you provide to my office each record in the statewide voter registration database for which the secretary of state does not have a state of texas issued driver's license or identification card number for that individual. With, with the November election now like less than a month away, he's now stressing how urgent the situation is. Quote Texans cannot afford to lose another second waiting for their vote and their voice to be protected from illegal ballots. Every election official in the state must join me in prioritizing this. Our state and our country are counting on you to expedite transparency and accountability to secure our elections and ensure non-citizens do not illegally vote.
Speaker 3:Within several hours, nelson responded and said as of this afternoon, my office has not received any reply from the federal government. As such, I am securely transmitting the list of voters you described in your letter so that you may take additional actions as appropriate. As you requested, the information that is being provided to your office consists of all voter records in the statewide voter registration system, to which there is no Texas driver license or personal identification card number. The records do not reflect or are in no way indicative of a list of potential non-Un, and we're on the third day. The Secretary of State has had to deal directly with our attorney general so that we can do it ourselves.
Speaker 3:It's like the old roll up your sleeves, get dirty, because it's our turn. We have to do it, and this is eerily reminiscent of something else. So let me prod your mind for a moment. Tell me when you think out loud. You can even say it out loud. I won't be able to hear you, but you'll be able to hear you and know if you got it right.
Speaker 3:What other instances major instances have we had where the federal government was supposed to be doing something, was failing so miserably that Texas had to roll up our sleeves and get dirty? Um, um, um, um. Immigration. Yeah, the answer is immigration, which is incredibly unfortunate because, again, this is not the job of Texas at all. Our job is nearly 0 percent related to anything to do with securing the border. That's not our role at all. And yet we're sitting here and all of a sudden, it has to be our role, right, and a lot of the reason for that is the fact that, quite frankly, the Harris Biden administration has not only failed at securing the border, but you have to remember and never forget that when we finally did get upset enough to do it ourselves, they sued us for it. They sued us for what we did, and the interesting thing is.
Speaker 3:So I'm going to call up my older sister a little bit. Maybe she listens to the show and she'll get mad. You know she did this thing when we were kids, where we'd go to Chick-fil-A she'd get nuggets, french fries. She would never finish. Me, being a 10-year-old boy, would always finish my food and want more. So I would ask for chicken nuggets and she always she always did this thing where she said, no, I'm going to eat them later. And when later came, they ended up in the trash because they went bad and she did not eat them.
Speaker 3:And that's very similar to exactly what the federal government is doing. Interestingly enough, it's it was. It was oh yeah, we're going to, we're going to deal with the border. You're not allowed to. That's not your role. That's not your role, that's our job. And then they never did their job. It's the same thing, it's sibling rivalry, except instead of chicken nuggets, it's illegal criminals who will hurt your kids, like that's what happened. It was just the most snobby, rude possible answer was not only are we not going to do our job, but you're not allowed to do our job for us, and we're going to sue you to stop you from doing it because it's our job.
Speaker 3:And so going into the next election, that points out an important thing, which is that immigration is staying a top priority for voters right now, going into the election. The economy is up there, inflation is up there, housing costs are up there For women, abortion is up there as the november presidential election approaches. Now the border crisis is is right there, listed near the top. So, according to a recent study by pew research center, 61 percent of voters reported that immigration is very important to how they will vote this november. This figure is nine percent higher than it was during the 2020 presidential election and represents a 13 percent increase from the 2022 congressional elections. So it's up significantly. The next house committee on state affairs convened and represents a 13% increase from the 2022 congressional elections, so it's up significantly.
Speaker 3:The Texas House Committee on State Affairs convened just a couple days ago to discuss the federal government's role in securing the country's border. Quote what I do know is that the federal government has failed to secure the international border with Mexico. That's from the Texas Department of Public Safety Director, stephen McCraw. He also said that he is hopeful the federal government will step up. Quote there's no infrastructure to support the millions of people that were apprehended in Texas. And those are just the apprehensions. Which is what I've tried to note, which is that when they release those numbers, these are the number of interactions and apprehensions we had. It's like, what about the number that you haven't had? Like how many more people are actually here than the number that you've apprehended, slash found? Like what number is actually active in the country? We Like what number is actually active in the country? We don't know. The fate of Texas' border with Mexico hinges largely on the outcome, obviously, of the 2024 election.
Speaker 3:Kenney County Attorney Brent Smith said that how Americans vote in November will be the difference between four more years of crisis or taking steps to secure the border and end violent cartel activity. Like it's not hyperbole to point out that the difference is incredibly stark between the two options. It is not. Do you want better immigration policies or slightly worse immigration policies? Hyperbole to point out that the difference is incredibly stark between the two options? It is not. Do you want better immigration policies or slightly worse immigration policies. It's like the difference between do you want no immigration policies, a wide, open border with ongoing cartel activity, or do you want none of that right? And he said quote they're not staying here, they're moving through, they're headed to the major metropolitan areas of Texas and they're heading across the United States.
Speaker 3:Meanwhile, of course, texas is taking action because, as Governor Greg Abbott announced just late last month so it's been just a little bit that individuals who provide information leading to the arrest of known or suspected members of Trendyaragua would be rewarded up to $5,000, anonymously, of course, because they've had terror. Speaking of Trendy Aragua and this is actually going to be crazy to you, jocelyn Nangare, remember her. I hope you remember her. I hope you never forget her name for the rest of your life the organization that talking about Trendy Aragua for a minute the organization started as a prison gang I'm giving you a little bit of history in the state of Aragua in Venezuela and has now expanded into a transnational criminal organization. Remember, greg Abbott designated them as a foreign terrorist organization and he said that that means, essentially, that we have much more liberty when it goes about how we're dealing with them, as opposed to any other normal person we'd be dealing with.
Speaker 3:According to the DPS director, colonel Steve McCraw the same guy he said TDA gangsters are like cockroaches they multiply quickly. Small intrusions into communities become infestations if not aggressively pursued. So, according to Abbott, the gang is known for its brutal violence and its members have committed crimes like murder, kidnapping, extortion, bribery and trafficking of drugs, weapons and people, which we vastly and strongly covered when they took over the apartments in Colorado. And then we found out that they're making a large presence in El Paso, in Dallas, austin, houston, san Antonio, all over the place and all the way up to New York, colorado, chicago. It's all over the place.
Speaker 3:Apparently, since 2021, more than 3,000 undocumented immigrants from Venezuela have been arrested in Texas and more than 200, specifically, are wanted right now. There is currently no TDA database to be able to verify if those arrests are of Trend Aragwa members or non-Trend Aragwa members. So what the Texas Department of Public Safety is working on, as well as other law enforcement, they're working to create a database from scratch. So authorities in countries such as Chile, peru, colombia, which, of all, have a very large population of Venezuelan immigrants, they've accused the group of being behind a spree of violence in their region as well. So it's not just an American problem. Every country hates these people. Chris Cabrera he's a spokesman of the National Border Patrol Council says that they don't stand out, and that's a lot of the problem, quote they're not like traditional MS-13s, where you could see them coming a mile away with the crazy tattoos they have all over their faces. These guys fly under the radar.
Speaker 3:So new search warrants have now revealed that the men accused of killing 12-year-old Joshua Nungare earlier this year are being investigated for possible connections to the violent Venezuelan gang. Franklin Pina and Johan Martinez Rangel have been indicted for capital murder in Harris County and each have a $10 million bond. According to the search warrants issued to TikTok and this is interesting that this is how we found it out, but of course, in late September, so just the end of the month, just a few days ago Houston police and Harris County District Attorney's Office investigators are looking into their connection to Trendy Aragua, partly because of the clues left on their public social media accounts. Quote it makes it seem more real if these people are monsters, and these evil people who do heinous things, don't have a heart, who have no compassion for anyone. That's from Jocelyn's mother. Her name's Alexis we really have no business burying our kids. They're supposed to bury us.
Speaker 3:So, looking into their actual accounts one of their TikTok account bios, there are emojis that show a ninja crossword in classical building, which investigators wrote in their warrant. Tda will use certain slang and emojis in their communications with one another to identify themselves. In a post on that same account, there's a message written in Spanish which investigators described as a call to members inside and outside the country, and that the message involved TDA gang membership. Other clues on the social media accounts included certain clothing or shoes and certain hand signals that indicate a gang membership. On a different account investigators believe belonged to pina, there's video that shows him traveling to the united states in what appears to be a migrant train, posted in early may. According to us immigration and customs enforcement, he was apprehended by border patrol on may 28th near el paso and he was, by the way, let go. Another video on that account showed him with two star tattoos on his shoulder, along with a rose tattoo on his hand, which investigators wrote are associated with the gang. In requesting the search warrant, investigators said they believed they could find more evidence related to Nongore's death. Communications the suspects had with other gang members, evidence of gang affiliation or activity or other potential criminal acts.
Speaker 3:Quote this proves that these are very horrible people and it wasn't an accident that just went too far. That's from her mother. So when we say that what's happening to these poor girls across our country is a direct result of the Biden-Harris administration, when we say that the blood is on their hands, that's not us exaggerating things, that's not us just trying to demonize people from other countries. It's not racism. It's not. It's nothing like that at all. What it is is an understanding that the people coming across our border illegally are bad people. That is why no country in the history of the world has allowed unfettered illegal immigration. It makes no sense to do so loud. Unfettered illegal immigration. It makes no sense to do so.
Speaker 3:When you do that, when you apprehend these people and then you let them go back in May, you are then directly at fault for what happens. They may be to blame, but you bear the responsibility. And so when we have a very possible, very likely scenario where these men that have annihilated this 12-year-old girl, they did unspeakable things and it starts to very much look like they were in a violent Venezuelan gang that has a known presence in the US directly because of the policies of the current administration. A known presence in the US directly because of the policies of the current administration, and then people have any kind of qualms about going forward and voting for the same administration. You have to wonder do these people care about anything? Do they have any heart at all? Because maybe I'm young, but I distinctly remember living just eight years ago to seven years, six years, five years ago, where none of this was happening. There may have been instances here and there where something went wrong, but we weren't seeing a presence of a violent Venezuelan gang with multiple chapters all across the country doing unspeakable things to 12-year-old girls. That wasn't happening. And it is now because of your government, because of the administration that people elected, and that if we don't change in 2024, if we don't change in less than a month, things are just going to get worse and I don't think anybody wants that.
Speaker 3:When we get back from the break, I'm going to talk about a pride festival out in Pflugerville. Not a long story, but it's another one of those instances where they're just they're being incredibly deceitful and doing awful things, trying to pretend as though they care about you, when the reality is that they just want to indoctrinate your children. Speaker 3:Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. I might have to push back the Pflugerville story until the top of the hour, and the reason I say that is because we've got to text in. If you want to text in, do you have your text read live on air, assuming that it has appropriate words in it? Ladies and gentlemen, the number is 713-779-5978. 713-779-kyst. I welcome good conversation. I welcome disagreement and debate. I welcome just about anything that you want to talk about. If you're interested, you can text in. We got a text in talking about why we need the federal government and the reason I bring that up is that I actually love this conversation.
Speaker 3:So I've never been a secessionist and what I mean by that is not my opinion on the Civil War. That is not my opinion on the Civil War. It's not my opinion on I'm referring specifically to as a Texan who grew up as a Texan. I've never particularly found myself being a Texas secessionist. I've never automatically just I've never considered myself to say I would love and prefer to not be American and to just be Texan, be American and to just be Texan. The problem is that if Trump does not win, I will wholeheartedly prefer to secede and I never thought I would be having to say that, but look, we've already seen what this administration does.
Speaker 3:We live in a point where you ask what is the job of the federal government? Why do we have a federal government? Well, they do a lot of different things, but they're called to do a couple of main things. They are called to defend the border. They're called to defend us from terrorism, foreign and domestic. They are called to deal with interstate trade, commerce. And so when they fail miserably at the very limited number of tasks that they've been given and here's the real kicker of it is not only are they failing miserably. Real kicker of it is not only are they failing miserably, but the reality is that Texas is doing their job for them and doing it well right. Operation Lone Star has been fantastic at shoring up the border. We're doing a much better job.
Speaker 3:Why do you think the border crossings are so far down? It is not because the federal government, it's not something they're doing. It's not it's because of Greg Abbott and Texas specifically. It's because of the Abbott and Texas specifically. It's because of the brave men and women here. That's why.
Speaker 3:Why do you think that the same gun control stuff that's going on all over the country is not here, it's because Texas. But those rights too are being threatened and that's why you've got to join with our sponsor, gun Owners of America. Listen, you may live in the best state in the world the best state in the country and the best country in the world but do not take for granted the fact that if you do not fight for your rights anywhere, they can disappear, even in Texas. If your rights are not avidly defended daily, they can just snap, be gone. It can happen just like that to anyone anywhere. Believe me, plenty of countries have made the same mistake of believing it couldn't happen to them, and then it did.
Speaker 3:Whether Texas secedes or not, we're going to need gun owners of America. Maybe they'll be gun owners of Texas I guess we'll see. But we need them fighting for us. We need them taking on the battles because if we don't, they're going to continue to increase carry regulations. They're going to continue to enforce more gun-free zones. They're going to continue to take your guns. They're going to continue to restrict your ability to just carry your gun without a license. That's going to keep happening. It's going to.
Speaker 3:Gunners of America is here daily to ensure that doesn't happen. America is here daily to ensure that doesn't happen. So you've got to become a member for just $25 a year. Yeah, for $25 a year. I was about to say I must have messed up, because that doesn't sound right. It sounds like it was too little. No, it's $25 a year. I'm right. You can go to gunownersorg become an annual member for $25, best $25 you'll spend and become a part of the reason why Texas and the rest of the country does not lose our rights. When we get back, as I promised before, we're going to talk about Pflugerville Again. These people are always trying to indoctrinate your children. You can tell they're crazy because that's always who they target, and they targeted them just a little too far this time out in Pflugerville. We'll talk about that when we get back. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson. Stick around.
Speaker 1:From deep in the heart of Texas, from Houston's God-loving patriot and the voice of reason, this is the Lone Star Conservative Michael Wilson.
Speaker 2:I'm offended, You're offended, let's all get offended. Lone Star Conservative Michael Wilson.
Speaker 3:Welcome back everybody to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson, it's good to be with you this morning. It's a little bit. I was going to use a word that I just All of a sudden I was going to use a word that just. Does that ever happen to you? The word just disappears from your recent memory and you don't know what the word is for some things, for some occurrence Hazy the word was hazy, it the word was hazy.
Speaker 3:It's a little bit hazy out this morning, not too bad, not noticeably when you're driving. I'm just saying because I have an upper view of the skyline so I can see that it's a bit hazy outside. The sun is slowly beginning to rise. It should be actually coming over the horizon here in about 10 minutes, hopefully. If it does not come up over the horizon in about 10 minutes at all, that's going to be a problem and the world is ending. So hopefully, here in about 10 minutes, I'll update you guys. If the world is ending, hopefully in about 10 minutes the sun is going to be rising. Unfortunately, the thing about the sun rising is that it also with it brings the heat that comes from a huge giant burning star. So it will be getting warmer as the day moves on. I think we have a high of 95 today, though, as I mentioned at the top of the show, hopefully and reasonably, we can assume that coming here in a week or two, within the next two weeks, the weather will have significantly cooled off. So that will be awesome, very excited for that. I think everybody that lives anywhere near me is also very excited for that, as you should be, as as you should be. Um, what I'm not excited for is the upcoming uh, family friendly pride event happening out in pflugerville. Um, on your dime not technically your dime if you're in houston, but but you get the gist um pflugerville library is set to host a pro lgbt event this upcoming weekend. So yeah, like two days from now. Listed as quote, family pride event, the taxpayer-financed library plans to hold this event from 3 to 5 pm on Saturday. The event description on the library's Facebook page describes it as, quote unquote all ages.
Speaker 3:I hate when they do that Like. I despise pride events in general. I think they're disgusting, I think they're degenerate. I despise pride events in general. I think they're disgusting, I think they're degenerate and I think that the entire intention of a pride event is to express the fact that you enjoy going against God's created order and are, in fact, prideful that you're able to without being struck down. I think that's disgusting and I think that it's a direct perversion of the values that have made America great. To be completely honest with you. But it adds an extra layer in there. And I said the same thing about murder. Right, I'll give you a good analogy Murder is wrong, murder is disgusting. I hate murder with a burning passion. You know, what I hate even more is abortion, because it is murder, but it's the murder of the defenseless and the innocent. When you commit a murder, it's bad. When you commit a murder, it's bad. When you murder someone who is incapable of defending themselves, of the weakest among us, that's significantly more evil. In the same way, I hate pride events, but family-friendly pride events add an extra layer of just pure perversion and evil in there, because you're doing the exact thing that even Jesus Christ, the man, told you would result in a millstone around your neck.
Speaker 3:So quote kick off Pflugerville's pride celebration at the library. This is from a Facebook post. All ages can join us for crafts, giveaways and light refreshments. Then head downtown to show your pride. Materials and refreshments available while supplies last, on a first-come, first-served basis. So, beyond the lack of an age limit, activist Carrie Smith noted on social media that artwork related to the event featured you're not going to believe this, actually, you probably are, because these people are disgusting An obviously male figure wearing a bathrobe and women's undergarments. Let me say that again An obviously male figure wearing a bathrobe and women's undergarments was in artwork that they posted on social media for the event. So Pflugerville City Council Member David Rogers said quote the council was not informed of this advertising before it went out and I personally find it not Pflugerville family friendly.
Speaker 3:He explained that these communications are handled by the city's manager's office, while the city council has not set a policy currently around approving or disapproving advertisements. He said that seems to be something at which we need to take a serious look. No one, male or female, should be depicted in their underwear in city advertising. That is my opinion, but it has not been endorsed or ratified by a vote of the city council. In other words, it's one of those things where it's you were given a little bit of breathing room, a little bit of leeway, and you used, like it's been, have a long leash and you abuse it, you end up with a very, very, very short leash. You don't like short leashes. Short leashes are really unfortunate. They're very frustrating, but when you abuse long leashes, that's what you get.
Speaker 3:He's pointing out we do not have technically laws or stipulations around the requirements of us endorsing anything, but if our city is going to start putting, if the manager's office is going to start putting nearly nude figures in their artwork in an all-ages event, especially from the library, they're going to start having serious discussions about whether or not the city manager's office is allowed to do anything without specific endorsement and allowance from the city council. As you pointed out, that's not very free, it that? As he pointed out, that's not very free, it's not very nice, it's not very fun. Uh, it's very unfortunate. But we may have to take a serious look at that if they're not going to do it themselves, because the city manager's office for fogerville should have absolutely looked at this artwork and said, no, sir, it's not going to happen, not going to pass, we're not going to put that out there. But they didn't. And so now you, what you, what you find is that it's going to have to come down to someone else who's apparently capable of seeing something that is so obviously disgusting and saying we're not doing that, because I can't imagine a time in American history where you would not have genuine up-in-arms problems if you tried to put a nearly nude male on artwork for a Library for Children event. It is absolutely insane that this is where we've ended up. But this is what happens. When you allow the Overton window to be moved to the left, when you allow people to take what we believe, our values, our ideologies that have made America great, you allow them to just shift everything leftward and you don't stand up against that shift. Eventually what will happen is that shift has gone so far that there's very it's very much harder to do anything about it. And on top of that, you can't really be, you can't be shocked, right?
Speaker 3:You were content with legalizing gay marriage. I've been told I'm crazy for not supporting that. That, oh, even republicans do. Yeah, that's why I don't often say I'm a strict republican. I say I'm a conservative, a constitutional conservative, but I'm a constitutional Christian and conservative first right. And so what I say is when you start drawing arbitrary lines on which part of God's law you think is important enough for our country to follow. When you do that, when you basically make yourself equal to God and your ability to be just, why do you think that it will not end up perverted in so many myriad of ways? You're like oh yeah, gay marriage is fine, but why are you punishing it on the kids? Why not Because that's wrong, says who Says God? Yeah, he also said gay marriage was wrong. So what about that one? Well, we're not going to talk about that, right? That's been the answer from the Republican Party.
Speaker 3:It's well, they're killing babies in nine months. How radical. Well, why is that wrong? Because nine months. What about eight months? How about seven months? What about six months? What about six weeks? No, six weeks. What about two months?
Speaker 3:And all of a sudden, they're again drawing arbitrary lines on something that is clearly law of God. Obviously, from any, there is a consensus that was put out in 2021 from every major biologist in the world there's 5,397 like prominent biologists in this world and 96 percent of them concurred that fertilization is the moment of distinct human life. Like that's no longer debated. It's not something that you may hear leftist talking points that it's not. It's a fetus, it's not a baby. It's like they're not actually drawing a distinction on the biological nature of that thing. They're drawing a distinction on the human rights of that thing. Human rights of that thing.
Speaker 3:The reality is that if you choose any moment other than conception as your moment of oh, we need to protect them. You've drawn your own arbitrary line and you've made yourself equal to God. That's exactly what you've done. So when you do that and then you're shocked well, the people that we made equal to God are now making decisions that I wouldn't make. Yeah, you're not in charge anymore. If we don't adhere to God's law consistently, we can't be upset. When they are consistent and they're not listening to God's law, why are you upset that they're?
Speaker 3:You call them radical for killing a baby at nine months. I call you radical for murdering a child at six weeks. How about that? How about them apples? Yeah, how's that make you feel? Because you are. If you support the murder of an unborn child at any point past the moment of conception, you are radical.
Speaker 3:The founders would have called you radical. Any Christian before the year 22,000 would call you radical. Any real Christian today would call you radical. God would call you radical. God has destroyed entire nations for less, and so when I hear the outrage from people. Oh, I can't believe. They're having a family-friendly pride event.
Speaker 3:Why? Why can't you? You already perverted the law of God, you already did it, and now you're upset. They're doing it more. Why? Why can't you? You already perverted the law of God, you already did it, and now you're upset. They're doing it more. Why? And what gives you the right to be upset at all? Do you think that you're the arbiter of truth? Because you rejected God as the arbiter of truth and now you're upset. That they're rejecting you Makes no sense at all. It's crazy to me. And they never think about it. They never think about it and they don't realize that it is only by the grace of God that we've not been wiped off the face of this planet.
Speaker 3:You know they want to blame climate change. They want to blame climate change for problems that go on Every single natural disaster ever. Oh, it's climate change. Maybe it. To blame climate change for problems that go on, every single natural disaster ever? Oh, it's climate change. Maybe it's the judgment of God and maybe we deserve it. Have you thought about that? Maybe, if we don't get our acts straight, it's going to happen more and more. And maybe it's not climate change. Maybe it's not because you're driving cars. Maybe it's because you're defying the living word of God. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe you should think about that. Maybe it's only by the grace of God that the sun is coming up over that horizon now, because I'm looking out there. It's coming up. He's given us another day to fix it, so let's do something.
Speaker 3:Stop letting your cities host pride events, not just family-friendly ones, but especially family-friendly ones. Stop letting your cities host pride events, not just family-friendly ones, but especially family-friendly ones. Stop letting them do it. Protest it, show up 3 to 5 pm Saturday. Go Be there, not to support it, but to be against it.
Speaker 3:Truth, defy beauty and promote things that are legitimately gross and dehumanizing and unnatural. You know what else is unnatural? Whenever I read a headline that has both UT and A&M in the same headline, that's pretty unnatural. That's not to pit two people against each other. It's not to pit your colleges against each other, but they are. They're naturally pitted against each other by their mere existence, and so whenever I read an article that has both of them and they've both done something, I'm like what in the world has A&M possibly done? They could get grouped with UT.
Speaker 3:So UT and A&M endowment funds have been leveraged allegedly to promote leftist political agendas. Does that sound crazy? Sounds pretty crazy to me. So five asset managers for the University of Texas and Texas A&M University's investment management company supported shareholder resolutions to advance specifically leftist ideology. According to a report from the American Accountability Foundation, ut and Texas A&M investment Company, which was UTIMCO, allocate some assets to the following entities the Aperio Group, cantillon Generation Investment Management, gqg Partners and JPMorgan Asset Management. The five manage about $4 billion for those universities as of this past July.
Speaker 3:So ESG and DEI-related votes violate quote a longstanding policy that prohibits using the endowment's economic power to advance social or political agendas. According to UTIMCO AAF, that's the again. The American Accountability Foundation requested reports of proxy votes by UTIMCO or its asset managers in 2022 and 2023, finding 159 votes supporting woke policies. While reviewing all 159 problematic votes would be redundant, the research identified that the problematic votes primarily fall into five categories. When we get back from the break, I'm going to tell you what those five categories are and what that means for these universities and what they've done and what that will be going into the future. You're listening to Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, michael Wilson, stick around, because I'll be right back.

Speaker 3:So A&M and UT have been using those endowment funds apparently purportedly to support leftist ideology. What are the five categories that they've been doing that through? And gender pay gap reports and audits. Political contribution reports targeting conservatives, championing abortion rights, anti-oil and gas or net zero resolutions targeting Second Amendment rights and pro-union proposals. Did you hear that your Texas colleges have used endowment funds allegedly to allow these sorts of votes into, of targeting your Second Amendment rights here in Texas? You mean that's actually happening at historically conservative colleges? Yeah, it is, and this is why I emphasize the importance of making sure your rights are not destroyed, because even in the freest state, even in the freest part some of the freest parts of the freest state, in the freest country in the world, your rights are still on the chopping block. They're still trying to get rid of them, and that is why it is such a necessity, especially this year, that you become a member of Gun Owners of America.
Speaker 3:They are the best gun advocacy group in the nation and I'm not exaggerating that. I'm being honest. I do ad raids. That's what I do. I enjoy doing them, but I don't lie. I'm not willing to go and lie for the sake of an ad. I won't do it. If there were a car dealership that wanted me to run ads for them and they said I need you to say that we have the cheapest prices and I knew for a fact that they were overcharging people, I wouldn't say it. I'm not saying I wouldn't read an ad, but I would ensure that whatever I said was the truth in one way or another.
Speaker 3:So when I say that I believe that Gun Owners of America is the best gun advocacy group, I mean that they have competitors. Competitors, I'm sure you know. I think they're better From my understanding and my communications with them, watching what they do, being around them. They actually care about your individual rights. That is hard to come by. Sure, these organizations have gotten a lot of these organizations have gotten overbloated and huge and they're dealing with a lot of their own stuff and they're worried about all their money and this and that Gunners of America is not like that. They are actively dedicated to the grassroots approach, like we at Patriot Talk 920 are, of taking their bus around the state of Texas and doing everything they can to promote good, pro-second Amendment people that are running for office. They're promoting the ideals. They're hosting dinners. They're doing whatever they can to get involved in communities. They're coming out to the gun shows with us. That's important, it matters and it's a big difference. And to become an annual member, you just have to fork over $25. That's yes. Let me make sure I said that Two, five dollar sign. $25 per year will get you a membership. No-transcript. Now listen.
Speaker 3:Utemco's asset manager, gqg Partners, voted for a 2022 Johnson Johnson resolution to combat systemic racism and conduct a racial equity audit. That sounds like something coming out of California. I'm not going to lie. Another vote by GQG Partners was in favor of a resolution at Meta Platforms to issue a public report assessing the feasibility of diminishing the extent that the company will be a target of abortion-related law enforcement requests. At a 2023 Raytheon Technology shareholder meeting.
Speaker 3:Utimco's asset manager JPMorgan Asset Management voted in favor of a resolution to report on efforts to reduce GHG emissions in alignment with a Paris Agreement goal. Quote. Utimco's asset manager's apparent promotion of leftist objectives, including ESG, is extremely troubling and contrary to Texas law banning boycotts and discrimination against fossil fuels. That's according to state rep Brian Harrison. He's out of Midlothian. Quote. The legislature must exercise oversight and hold UTIMCO accountable. Governmental bodies, including their proxies, should not pursue objectives that harm the Texas economy and go against our values. Gqg partners also voted for a resolution apparently to assess whether the Cigna Group's corporate values are in line with their political contributions, specifically targeting members of the Texas legislature who voted to end abortion in the state Quote the intent of these resolutions is to force companies to name trade associations, think tanks, other nonprofits, political committees and candidates they support, so the woke mob can later shame companies for supporting them. That's according to the American Accountability Federation, quoting their report on the ESG movement.
Speaker 3:Utimco's asset manager, Generation Investment Management, co-founded by former Vice President Al Gore, voted for a MasterCard incorporated resolution that the AAF says could lead to an invasion of privacy for lawful gun owners. Oh, you don't say how shocking. The group voted to establish a positive stance on a new merchant category code for banks to recognize stand-alone gun and ammunition store purchases, to report certain purchasing activity as suspicious. In case that's unclear, essentially what that means is that they want a project set up where banks have the capability to know when you're buying a gun and be able to market it as such, so that if, in a situation where the say the FBI wants to get your personal data and information and who's been purchasing guns. They just have to ask. That's all they got to do. They don't even have to search your bank accounts anymore. They'll just be able to pull it up. Here's where he did, here's where he bought it from. It's this right here, this purchase that's been flagged. We know because we have an algorithm that'll do that After finding the violated votes. Utimco says that it has since modified its guidelines and will enforce them on its third-party investment managers before the future proxy votes, revoking voting authority for those that don't follow them.
Speaker 3:So you? So they got caught, and now they're trying to backpedal and pretend like they didn't do these things and they had no idea what was going on. And it's not their fault. It is, it is their fault, and so we have to be careful of this. We have to be careful and we have to watch out. We need good investigative reporters who are willing to dive into this stuff, because this is ongoing. This is what's happening even here in Texas. They want to take your rights away in whatever way they possibly fundamentally can, in every way.
Speaker 3:This wasn't just like a fight on the Second Amendment front. Remember there were five different categories. They were targeting conservatives. They were talking about gender and racial pay gaps. They were going after oil and gas. They were going after the Second Amendment. They were going for the pro-union stuff. They've actively been a part of so many different fights that we're having to deal with on so many different fronts and if we're not cautious and if we're not careful, they're going to win these fights. We have to start watching out better.
Speaker 3:Conservatives, for maybe generations have had one major flaw. Conservatives, for maybe generations have had one major flaw they believe that the values that made America great are values that everyone in America holds. That used to be true. It used to be true. That's why there wasn't such. Like they say that Trump has been divisive. The reality is that he pointed out the truth. Our country didn't used to be so divisive, even between Republicans and Democrats, because fundamentally we had the same beliefs. Yes, we had slightly different fiscal policy. Yes, we had slightly different.
Speaker 3:But there was a time in American history not so long ago, like really not so long ago, where you could get punched in the face for saying you were a communist, like Ronald Reagan ran on like darn the commies, and we were like, yeah, and now it's like Kamala Harris over here, like well, you know, communism isn't so bad. Tim Walz is over here. Like you know, socialism is just a form of being a good neighbor, like. That's literally something he said verbatim. Socialism is just being a good neighbor. It's just a form of neighborliness. You know how crazy that is, and so we must watch. We must be watchful, because the political divide is no longer.
Speaker 3:Do you think this or that it's now? Well, we want your guns gone. Well, we want you targeted for your beliefs. Well, we want to end oil and gas. You don't even get to use it because carbon emissions, because climate change, because bad things happen, and so we have to be watching out, because it's happening all over the country. It's even happening here, and if we don't stop it from happening, it's going to keep happening. They're going to get away with whatever they can.
Speaker 3:They didn't stop because they found it out. They stopped because we found it out. That's what you need to keep in mind. They did not stop because they caught it happening. They stopped because we caught it happening, and we must hold them accountable if we're going to have any chance of changing this state, changing this nation. Texas leads, but if we're not leading correctly, it won't matter that we lead Now, when we get back to the break, remember Meta, remember that company. Yeah, meta has been accused now of suppressing voter guide information on Facebook, and this is unfortunate because Mark Zuckerberg has actually expressed serious remorse regarding a lot of stuff, and now it seems like they're back right on the same track, going into election season. So we'll talk about that more when we get back election season.
Speaker 11:So we'll talk about that more when we get back Houston. This is John Trout inviting you to wake up every morning as I bring you the latest overnight developments in breaking news, politics and business. Speaker 3:Our conservative sun is now well up, it's bright outside. It's going to be a good day. Not for meta, though, because hopefully they're going to face some repercussions again. Ivoterguide is an online voter information platform. You may have heard of it. It's called iVoterGuide. And iVoterGuide is an online voter information platform. You may have heard of it, it's called iVoterGuide.
Speaker 3:They've now alleged that Facebook's algorithm is targeting and removing their posts, which I can say wholeheartedly and confidently, not that it's happening, but that I would not be surprised if it were. You see, here at Patriot Talk 920, we've actually had multiple problems with multiple social medias, which probably most of you are not surprised about, but you might be surprised to know that multiple of our posts have been taken down for no reason at all. We've gotten some of them put back up. Some of them we have not. They target us, they target other conservative companies. They target anything that does not promote their radical left agenda, and so it would not be surprising to me in the least if this is the case. So a news release by iVoterGuide asserts that users are discovering that their posts linking to the voter guide are being removed because they somehow violate quote-unquote community guidelines. According to the news release. The speed and methodology of removal indicate targeting by Facebook, like algorithmic targeting, not people reporting it. It happens immediately, like their AI system whatever they're using is automatically finding these things. Quote.
Speaker 3:Ivoterguide provides nonpartisan, factually documented research on candidates and issues. That's the president of iVoterGuide, debbie Wuthnow. Quote. We do not endorse candidates or tell people how to vote. We simply provide publicly available information to educate voters. However, debbie said that in the past several days alone, nearly 100 users have reported that posts, when they link directly back to iVoterGuide, are being removed by the algorithm. Quote. How can providing the truth be deemed harmful to the community? We call on Meta to allow the open discourse on all sides of the issues as we head into the critical 2024 elections, and we ask voters to counter this action by going directly to iVoterGuidecom.
Speaker 3:Keep in mind it's almost like they haven't learned their lesson because literally in late August so like just a little over a month ago the CEO of Meta and we talked about this Mark Zuckerberg, that guy he literally admitted in a letter that he allowed the suppression of information because he was pressured by the Joe Biden administration and expressed, in his opinion, remorse about the company's actions and what they did. He said hindsight basically hindsight is 20-20. I wish I wouldn't have done those things. I wish I wouldn't have listened and I would have allowed free speech to rain on the platform, but I didn't and I can't do anything about that now. But I will be honest with you guys I do feel regret about it and I was significantly, over and over, multiple times pressured by the federal government to remove the things that I removed. Uh, he also wrote I think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight, new information we wouldn't make today, of course, uh, because you found out that you got caught, so of course you wouldn't make it again.
Speaker 3:Yet, as I voter guide reported, it has become the latest target of big tech censorship. Also, keep in mind that back in 2022, so two and a half years ago, so it was February of 2022, ken Paxton sued Meta for privacy violations and then in late July, the company agreed to a $1.4 billion settlement with the state of Texas, which is the largest ever obtained from an action by a single state. So Meta has paid out billions because of significant problems that they've had of privacy violations. They've faced problems because of legitimate censorship concerns and it's like they're unwilling or incapable of learning their lesson. They're unwilling or incapable of learning their lesson.
Speaker 3:It's like we come to the next election season and yet again, the same exact thing is happening. Right, it's like the same pattern, over and over and over again. Oh well, ballots are having issues? Oh well, we can't do that. Oh well, machines are malfunctioning oh well, sorry, our AI system is broken. We just implemented AI and it's targeting things based on what it understands, and it doesn't understand everything. So just appeal every single minute decision. Hopefully you can get them all put back up in time.
Speaker 3:You can't, by the way, and so what you wind up with is that they're going to get away with it again and they're going to call us the crazy loons when, if we lose, we say you cheated, you didn't play the game fairly. It's like you're playing Monopoly with your friends and the banker is over here sliding himself little dollar bills and you know you're cheating, and he goes can you prove it? You're like well, yeah, no, because we don't know how much. No, we can't, we can't prove it, there's no way to prove it. But you did? He goes no, you didn't. I literally saw you pulling, pulling those hundreds and putting them in your stack. Did you count the number I had before and take a picture? Do you have any proof? And then when you say, well, no, I didn't take a picture, I know, I just watched you, dude, and he goes couldn't prove it in a court of law, I'm just going to throw it out on the thing and I'm going to be done playing because you're so rude and I won, like that's essentially the leftist party now. So they're going to do it again. They're going to do their very best to ensure that they win this election. They're willing and able and probably going to cheat to some regard.
Speaker 3:The question is will it be major enough that we cannot stop them? We already see the seeds of it in what Meta is doing with Ivan, our guide. It's very clear. No one is shocked. No one is surprised and no one is. You couldn't use the. You couldn't say that.
Speaker 3:I was flabbergasted to find out that Meta was doing the same thing again. I had a little bit of hope, only because Mark Zuckerberg actually apologized. I didn't think it was sincere. I thought it was because he got caught, but I thought that maybe, since he had gotten caught, he wouldn't risk it again. But I think they have plausible deniability now because they're using AI software, they're going to say ah, it wasn't our fault. See, it's just the new tech, and the new tech is not perfect. It's going to make mistakes and this is one of those mistakes. So sorry, and it's like you're able to continually manipulate the outcome of elections because you are the public square and your excuse is well, we let new software do it and it messed up. So sorry, let's move on. Let's move on. We now have a communist dictator in charge. What do you mean? Let's move on, we can't move on. You ruined America and so it's crazy and it's completely unsurprising.
Speaker 3:But again, these people hate free speech. We know that. We know they hate free speech because, importantly, what free speech indicates every single time is the opposite of what they want you to hear. Because free speech means I can point these things out right. I can point out what Matt is doing. Free speech means I can tell everyone what Meta's doing. It means I can discuss the ins and outs of the election. It means I can talk about the issues pertaining to voters.
Speaker 3:It's why the left stands so strongly on the side of quote, unquote, misinformation, like oh, we got to censor misinformation. Tim waltz has literally said that you do not have a right to misinformation as, by the way, if you elect him he's going to be the arbiter of. He gets to decide what that means. That he says oh yes, you, you can't spout misinformation. And I say that it's misinformation for you to call me out for my blatant lies about where I was in in june of 1989, that I said I was in China, that I witnessed things that I never witnessed. You are spouting misinformation if you even bother to bring it up. And if you, let's implement old COVID regulations that he actually started. And if you are talking about it, well, I'll set up a phone call line for someone to call on you. They'll call me and report you and I'll be in a much higher position so we can use much better law enforcement to get you.
Speaker 3:That sounds crazy. It sounds like it sounds like a dystopian novel, but it's not entirely and wholly inaccurate from what we've already seen. If you just compare things, he literally had a snitch line for neighbors during covid and you think he wouldn't had a snitch line for neighbors during COVID and you think he wouldn't set up a snitch line for misinformation? Really, you think he wouldn't and you think he wouldn't be able to tell you that these things are misinformation, that he wouldn't decide it. This is why we have checks and balances.
Speaker 3:But they want to do away with that. They want to pack the Supreme Court. They are willing to cheat in any way they can to win, to get more power and more power, and more power. Before, ultimately, they have so much power there's literally not a thing you can do. That's their goal and that's why they hate the event. That's why they hate the first amendment, that's why they hate the second amendment, that's why they hate these things, because those things stand in their way and they know that and if we don't figure that out really quickly and if we don't fight like there's no tomorrow there may not be.
Speaker 3:I don't say that to fear monger, but I do say it to let you understand that that this november, a month from, is one of the most important days of the last 50 years at least, because it will have a significant impact on the direction this country goes, and one of those directions, obviously, is pertaining to what else Texas is still having to deal with in regards to immigration, because, on top of of Trendy Aragua now, we're continually encountering dozens of special interest aliens. If you don't remember, special interest was the designation of people who were traveling in weird ways that made us kind of suspect them, not necessarily terrorism, but of something odd going on. So apparently, texas troopers have encountered hundreds of illegal aliens at the southern border just in the last week, including special interest at aliens, convicts and gang members. In a series of posts, the t the texas dps spokesman, chris olivares, released information on the encounters at the texas mexico border. So, for example, on monday troopers encountered a large group of 230 illegal aliens in Eagle Pass, which included 27 special interest aliens from Afghanistan, pakistan, iran, egypt and India. Why are we letting people from Iran into the country? It makes no feasible sense why we would do that. These people they try to say that special interest aliens may pose a significant national security threat. You think they're coming from Iran, you think as illegals and you think they may pose a national security threat. What a shocker. In the same group, troopers also arrested 41 illegal aliens for criminal trespass. These 41 were from Brazil, ecuador, nicaragua, guatemala, argentina, colombia and the Dominican Republic. They were all jailed and taken to the Valverde Processing Center.
Speaker 3:This past Saturday, law enforcement arrested a formerly deported felon with a criminal history of assault and domestic violence. Troopers had tracked and located two illegal aliens who fled from law enforcement and trespassed on several properties in Kinney County. They caught two males from Honduras and arrested them for a criminal trespass. One of the men, who is 27 years old, is a deported felon with a criminal history of assault. Charges against him from the Harris County Sheriff's Office include domestic violence, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct. He was first deported back in April of 2024 for conviction or commission of a crime involving moral turpitude. Last Tuesday, dps special agents investigated a stash house in Laredo. The agent made contact with a 42-year-old illegal alien from Mexico named Roger Valero. He's a confirmed member of the Paisa gang, an independent drug trafficking organization. Further investigation revealed that he's also a deported felon and was arrested following the encounter.
Speaker 3:Kennedy County Attorney Brent Smith said that with all these illegal alien crossings, the United states national security is under attack. Quote the severity of this issue cannot be overstated in the security risk that is created by unvetted special interest aliens entering the united states from countries who wish us harm. Dhs does not have access to the criminal databases of these countries to properly vet these individuals or even verify their identity. What's even more disturbing is that most law enforcement on the border agree that 60 to 70 percent of illegal crossings are never apprehended by border patrol and make up only part of the known gotaways. Only those illegal aliens that were detected by border patrol and not apprehended are included in the numbers for known gotaways. Those aliens who are never detected are not accounted for in any statistic. This essentially results in playing russian roulette with our national security at stake. Remember that. So when they give you the number like, oh, 13 million are here, it could well be much more than that.
Speaker 3:Like you, say they that only 60, that 60 to 70 percent are never apprehended and that 60 to 70 percent only make up part of the known gotaways, that there are plenty that are not known, that there are plenty that are coming in the border that are neither apprehended nor even known about that cross illegally but secretly, that we just never even know they're here. And when we know that we have a significant number coming from Venezuela, coming from Iran and Pakistan, coming from Colombia with the drug cartel, why are we shocked when these things happen? They're letting them in. Are we shocked when these things happen? They're letting them in and they're less. This is the crazy part, because I am barely old enough to remember when Trump ran for election the first time and they were up in arms about his racist comments about immigrants when he said they're drug-running rapists. Then you come to find out they're drug-running rapists and we're letting in a bunch of drug-running rapists. Then you come to find out they're drug-running rapists and we're letting in a bunch of drug-running rapists.
Speaker 3:Maybe we should have listened. Maybe everybody should have listened like we did. It's not too late. It feels too late. It's going to be difficult, but under Trump we're going to have mass deportations and a wall and those things alone will have a significant positive impact on so much, from the housing crisis to the economy, to jobs. It's, it's. It cannot be overstated how important it is that we get Trump in for every single possible major issue, from the economy to the immigration crisis and everything in between. Now, when we get back, I got one more story from right here in Houston about Houston's largest by number dispensary for CBD, who are now under full investigation for apparently not selling CBD and saying they put a little bit too much weed in their CBD. Speaker 3:Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. So THC Club is a cannabis company with 18 locations across Terrace County. You might have seen their billboards up I have, I think, up near IAH. They might have a billboard coming into Houston, but they have locations all across the county. They have allegedly been rated for selling real marijuana and money laundering. The bust was a result of a joint undercover operation between Constable Precinct 4 and 5. According to court documents, nine people are facing charges, including the owner, managers and investors. At the end of September, investigators confiscated nearly 30 pounds of Canada's products from the THC Club locations. The company's website claims that every product they sell is legal under Texas' Farm Bill.
Speaker 3:Thc Club advertises themselves as Houston's number one spot for recreational marijuana. They operate 18 locations across Harris County, from the Galleria up to Cypress. So we visited some of those locations, which appear to be closed since they were raided by law enforcement. According to a lengthy charging document, the investigation began back in January when undercover detectives with Harris County Constable Precinct 5 allegedly made 22 purchases across all 18 locations. The documents allege testing on the products came back positive for marijuana. Investigators also allege that $4.5 million in illegal proceeds were generated through money laundering over a four-year period. In a statement, the company's attorney said quote the THC club has operated legally and openly since its inception. Its owners have appeared in the media, testified in front of the legislature and not a single one of them has broken any laws. This allegation is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the law and the facts and we look forward to a quick resolution in court.
Speaker 3:In Texas sometimes and this is going back to what the Texas law actually is In Texas there are some types of cannabis products that are legal if they contain 0.3 percent or less THC, which is the THC in cannabis, if you did not know. So you have marijuana, you have CBD that's in marijuana in weed and you have THC. The THC is the part of the plant that gets you that. That really that sensation. You know the good stuff, the high. The CBD is much more. Not that at all. You're not going to. You could eat almost an unlimited amount of straight CBD and you would not feel a thing related to highness. You might feel like some comfort. They use it in medication, but it would not give you any sort of lack of sobriety. So that 0.3% number is the margin for legality in the state of Texas.
Speaker 3:On the company's website it says it sells products that are legal in Texas, but the police are the ones now saying that testing they did shows otherwise. So we'll have to see the results of the actual testing. Again, these are all allegations right now because it's going to have to go through court and we all know how long court takes and what the system does, and so we'll have to kind of keep an eye on it to know exactly what's going on and whatnot. But yeah, I mean as of now they're at least closed down or they're having problems maintaining inventory, whatever. I don't know what result that's going to have on the company. I don't know if they're going to open their doors before the end of the court trial. I don't know what any of that.
Speaker 3:All I know is that, as of right now, the police have been doing an undercover operation since January of this year. They've now officially taken it to court. They said they did testing on products across all of their different locations and they're charging the owners, managers and investors because again, and there's money laundering, which again I will have to watch the case closely because I have no idea where that comes in at all, but they're charging a bunch of people. They're not saying that it was one location where the dealers were like selling from inside. They're saying like this is an actual operation from the company's standpoint. So I guess we'll have to see and keep an eye on it and find out.
Speaker 3:But realistically, the statement the THC club is pointing out it very much sounds like they know the law pretty well. So I'm a little bit unsure here. Usually they're like not putting out statements, refusing to respond to comment, that sort of stuff. But they are responding to comment. So I guess we'll have to see. So I guess we'll have to see. For today in history, on October 3rd of 1990, east and West Germany were reunified into a single nation, less than a year after the Berlin Wall fell.
Speaker 6:Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall yeah love that line.
Speaker 3:But yeah. So October 3rd 1990, this would have been just 34 years ago East and West Germany were finally reunified so fantastic day in history. I actually really enjoy talking about it because again the reason a lot of what's going on right now. If Reagan in his prime could look and listen to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, dude would be like up in arms dude. Dude would be on his horse with a gun over his shoulder. I mean, come on, I cannot believe we've let our a gun over his shoulder. I mean, come on, cannot believe we've let our country get to this point. But that will do it for the show today. It has been fantastic being with you on this beautiful Thursday morning After this. You've got Chris Plant, so stick around, you won't want to miss his show. You've been listening to Lone Star Conservative. I'm Michael Wilson and I'll see you all tomorrow.
