The Lone Star Conservative
AG Showdown, Antifa Crackdown, and the Power of Connection
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A late-night clip from Rush sparks a bigger question we can’t shake: does genuine connection beat perfect rhetoric? We open with that idea and carry it through the hour—how trust is built, why accountability matters on and off the mic, and what it means to respect your time with clarity over clicks.
From there, we get practical. We break down the Texas Attorney General primary beyond slogans—who’s arguing what, why Chip Roy drew the most fire, how Aaron Reitz, Joan Huffman, and Mayes Middleton frame experience, and the strategy that turns second place into a runoff lifeline. If you’ve ever voted on name recognition, this is your nudge to watch the debate clips, test every claim, and decide with facts rather than ads.
We also tackle hard stories that test principles. Allegations against Rep. Tony Gonzalez raise the stakes on character in a primary season. We talk honestly about failure, truth-telling, and why integrity is a better compass than spin. Then we zoom into Houston: City Council Member Edward Pollard calls for Superintendent Mike Miles to publicly explain HISD’s 12 planned school closures. State-appointed leadership complicates accountability, so we outline the questions families deserve answered—data, dollars, timelines, and real transition plans.
On law and order, we pull two threads: Ken Paxton’s lawsuit targeting a Houston anti-fascist group for alleged doxing and incitement, and a disturbing Roblox case where an 18-year-old’s threats against a Christian concert collide with “true threat” doctrine. Both stories sit at the edge of free speech and public safety, where clear standards matter most.
If you want sharper voting, stronger communities, and less noise, this episode is for you. Listen, share with a friend who needs election clarity, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway so we can keep raising the bar together.

Opening Reflections On Influence
SPEAKER_05The voice of reason. Michael Wilson.
Building Trust With Listeners
Accountability, Faith, And Responsibility
SPEAKER_10Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative brought to you by Textellant AC Service. And I was actually listening to a clu uh clip last night. You know, I I should have been sleeping, to be fair, but you know how it gets. Sometimes it's getting late, and you know how much sleep you're gonna get the next day, but then you just aren't going to sleep. I guess not everybody's. I'm like that a lot more often than I should be. And so I got home, and the time I got home, I was already like, okay, it's late enough. I should probably go to bed now. And then I stayed up for another two hours-ish, give or take. Uh but I was watching, I was watching a clip from when Rush Limbaugh spoke at the I think it was the first annual turning point event at Mar-a-Lago with Charlie Kirk, that in like 2018. And I was watching this clip, and he's kind of telling some stories. Um I I didn't actually end up finishing the clip because like I said, it was very late, and I I really should have gone to bed before starting it. Uh, but I watched some of his speech, and one of the things that I picked up from what he said that I think I I think I kind of live my life, at least in in yeah, I I live my life in the same way, is that when you're trying to influence people, when you're trying to persuade people, when you're trying to speak the truth and people actually believe the things you're saying, he said, one of the most important steps in that equation that you can't skip, he said you can be the best public speaker, you can be charismatic, you can be this, you can be that. He said the most important step is that you have some form of genuine connection with the people that you're talking to. That there's something, not even that you have in common necessarily, but that there's there's something there that there's this sort of rel uh some sort of relationship between the groups. He said, you know, that's why when he watched Trump get up and he he was he went to one of his first rallies and Trump gives this speech. And in and not only was it a good speech, but in the speech he starts talking about how much he is thankful and humbled by the support from the people in the room, and how how grateful he is for the fact that they all decided to show up and be there and give their time to him. And he was like, in that moment, I listened to the way the crowd cheered in response to that, and the way that he spoke to people and about people, and he said, I I I I said right then Trump's gonna win the election. He's like, I I that's that's when I called it. And you know, I hadn't really put it into words before. That hadn't been like a thought that I'd I'd necessarily had, but it does ring true. And it rings true in my life, it rings true in all of our lives, guys, because here's here's the thing. A lot of the issues that Republicans have historically had, and I know it's good to win debates, I actually really enjoy winning debates. One of the major problems that the Republican Party and Republican candidates and Republican influencers have long had is that many of them don't seem like people. And I'm not saying that you should ever sacrifice truth for niceness. So I don't wanna I don't wanna misspeak here and make it sound like I'm saying we should all be nicer people. Not what I'm saying. In fact, I think in a lot of cases it's a bad idea to be nicer. Kinder, yes. Nicer, no. Two different words, two different meanings. One is a modern word that is designed to get you to stop speaking the truth. So I'm not saying to be necessarily nicer, but the way that we conduct ourselves, and it's it's scenario dependent, by the way. If I'm talking uh to a group of Democrats, I'm going to speak in a different manner than if and that's not a hypocritical thing. In the same way that if I'm trying to teach a three-year-old mathematics, I'm probably going to teach a different thing than if I'm trying to teach a 13-year-old, you know, 14-year-old, 15-year-old algebra one. Those are going to be two different courses, two different teaching methodologies. In similar fashion, depending on who you're talking to, you kind of cater to that audience in a sense. And not in the sense that you're willing to sacrifice truth, again, but in the sense that there needs to be a form of connection so that they listen. Otherwise, it's kind of a pointless message, right? Same thing with this show. I said, if people aren't listening, if they don't care what I have to say, if I'm not speaking in such a way that what whether you call it entertainment or whether you say it's it's credibility, like whatever it is that drives you to listen, if I'm not meeting those standards every day, and there goes a period where you say, ah, it's just not not for me, then I'm failing at my job. I'm not doing a good job. And my job, I feel, is is, I believe, at least, maybe I'm biased, is so much more important than just speaking into a mic. I know that's the technical application of the job, but I view it a as a in as an incredibly important job. Because the reality is that the things I say, one, I'm gonna be held accountable for them every day and and on judgment day. I'm gonna be held accountable for every word I speak. And I know that. And that's a that's a strong responsibility for someone whose job it is to speak, right? Because not only am I being held accountable for the words I say, but the words I say are being given to many people in many areas, and I have a responsibility that I'm speaking the truth. And so when I say that I view my job as incredibly important, what I what I really mean by that is that having you guys is incredibly important to that job. This job, like I've said many times before, would be completely meaningless. It would be a completely worthless job if no one wanted to listen. If nobody tuned in and said, I just I just don't like this guy. Like he, yeah, he says the right things. He's technically saying the truth, but I don't I don't like how he carries himself. I don't trust him. I don't think he's credible. I I I don't I don't like the way that he talks, I don't like the the things that he talks about, whatever it is, then I'm not doing a good job, even if I'm I I'm a a relatively gifted speaker. That's why, that's why I make sure that you know I give the text out as often as possible, not because I want people to text in necessarily, but because if there's something that you want to hear about, or if there's something that you disagree with me on that I can explain better, I want to cater to that. I want to make sure that the people who listen to this show are the main priority of the show because you should be. This this show is a completely meaningless, worthless thing to do if people don't want to hear it. And people tune in to say, I just don't, I don't want to hear this. This is pointless information, or this guy's wrong on this. I want there to be an avenue for you to say, hey, I think you're wrong on this. And that doesn't mean that I'm just gonna, you know, again, sacrifice the truth on that. If you disagree, it'll probably end up in a conversation where I'm saying, hey, here's why I still disagree with you. Here, I'll give you the reason so you we can think about it more. Maybe I'll think about it longer and say, maybe you're right. That certainly happened before. And so I make sure that that text in line is open and that I give it out so that everyone is aware that they have the opportunity to do that, that they have the opportunity to be a part of the show. That they can and that's something that is very distinct about radio, something that I actually really love about radio because it's a real live conversation between groups of people, the person who's speaking and the person who's listening, the people who are listening, who make the show what it is. Again, it would be just a completely meaningless thing to do if nobody wanted to hear it. And so I say all that, it's a long intro, but I say all of that to say, I know it's it's you're like, you're rambling, you're ramping. I know. I say all of that to say that I am same as Trump, I am incredibly grateful for everyone who's listening, for everyone who's tuning in, for everyone who's because again, you're spending, if you tune into the whole show, you're giving someone 10 hours of your week, which may not sound like the biggest time investment in the world, but it's a long time that you'd have to do other things. I I mean 10 hours dedicated to anything, you spend 40 hours per month, right? Over the course of a year, you spent almost 500 hours listening to this show. You spend 500 hours on almost anything dedicated to that thing, and you could be a master craftsman, right? At that, you could be very good at the thing that you're practicing to do. And so you choose to spend over the course of that year, nearly 500 hours listening to this show. I know there are things that you could be doing with your time that are different that some people might say is more worth your time. But the people that are listening, people that are tuning in, that are here, you believe that this is worth your time. You listen to this show and you say, hey, I'm learning something. Hey, I actually am spending my time, right, engrossed in things that I think matter to me. Uh, listening to someone who presents it in such a way that I learned something, that I'm educated, that that I get to hear someone who entertains me while making sure that I'm actually hearing the truth for at least two hours of my day. Because you've got in the world and you listen to a lot of these people, and you're not edified by it. I mean, I'm not trying to like prop myself up here, but a lot of the people that are out there, even on the conservative side of media, they're not gonna edify you with their words. They're not gonna try to educate, they're not trying to run a show where their ultimate priority is to make sure that their listeners are getting something out of it. Their priority is I just want to run the most entertaining show I can to get the most listeners I can at any given point. And I don't do it. I don't run it that way. I'm not ever gonna run it that way because that's not what the that's not the kind of show that I want to have. It's not the kind of show that I'm interested in having. I'm interested in having a show where every single person who's listening, every single person who's tuning in, if they were asked why do you listen to that, the answer would not just be because it's an entertaining way to throw away two hours of my day. I I hope that that is never the answer. If I were to approach every single person who listens to this show, I want there to be a reason. And I want it to be more than, well, I just like the guy. I want it to be more than that. I want it to really be a genuine connection where people say, I'm learning something. I think this is a good man that's worthy of listening to. And so that's why I I pray daily that that God would give me the right words to speak, that I would speak with wisdom, that my words would be laced with salt, that I that I say the right things, and I have the right intent behind saying the right things, and that I'm driven every day to do a better job than the day before. That every day I come on here and I'm like, Lord, can you make sure that the things that I'm saying are not only true, but they're spoken in such a way that people would desire to hear them. That people's ears would be open, there and by extension their their hearts would be open to to your word, to you, to to the truth, that politics is not some subjective game of gray areas, but that actually there's a that that this is black and white, that there is truth and there is there is there are lies and deceit, that there is good and there is evil, and that people would be inclined to hear what is good and what is true and what is beautiful. And when you're choosing to tune into this show, you are making an investment with your time. Right, which I think is actually often a more worthy investment than just with your dollar. I think it goes a lot longer because a lot of people have dollars they can give. Some people have plenty of dollars they can give. But your time is limited. And so if you're if you're tuning in this morning, I I cannot stress enough how great how greatly I appreciate every single one of you. How much you mean to me, how much you mean to the station. Um, we this is why we like going out and doing not only events hosted by our station, but going out to gun shows, going out to other events, going out to Republican meetings, because we want to be a part of the community. We want people to know we're not just some people in a studio who are trying to run entertain an entertainment company, an entertainment industry. We are attempting to change things. We're attempting to make a real difference. We're attempting to invigorate people to not only believe the truth, but to speak it themselves. That you can learn enough from this show that you can go out and actually have the truth on your side when you're speaking to somebody else. That that you're not confused because you didn't do the research by something. Well, I I did. And we're not saying take my word at face value always and just run with it and don't ever verify. I'm not saying any of that. You should always critically think through everything that I'm saying. That's always a good idea, regardless of how smart the person you're listening to is. And there are much people, there are much smarter people than me doing this. There are plenty of people you could, no matter who it is, you should verify that every single person you're listening to that you are giving your time to is worthy of that time, and that you are thinking through the things they say each and every hour of each and every day that you're listening. And so if you're here this morning, I just want to say thank you for being here, for texting in, for being a part of the show, for making yourself available when there are literally millions of other things you could be doing that you feel like it is a worthy investment of your time to listen to the Lone Star Conservative, that you say that means something. This is worth something. I'm learning something. I'm being edified and encouraged. And I walk away, you know, even despite all of the bad news and the local corruption and the statewide, you know, issues with whether it's whether it's the anti-ICE walkouts or the the Islamic, the Islamicization of the West, wh whatever the topic t seems to be on any given day, whatever that is, that you still walk away feeling like we can win this. I I don't ever I know there are, again, a lot of people out there who run a show where people kind of get off to feeling like it's over and we've lost, and they their form of entertainment is just for people to kind of leave the show feeling worse than they did when they walked in, feeling worse than they did when they started the show. I don't ever want that to be the case. I I don't ever want that all of the evil gets highlighted and the end result of that is anything else other than we can do this. We can make a difference, we can change things. And that's not going to be some tomorrow you see the results of that, and you may not see the fruits of your labor for many years, but that you would labor anyway, that you'd be encouraged to say this fight is not over, and it's a fight worth fighting, that that would be the encouragement you walk away with. And that you walk away with the understanding that our politics, whether that is local, whether that is regional, whether that is statewide, whether that's federal or global, what whatever the politics are that we're having a conversation about, that you would walk away with a genuine belief that these things that that that many days have awful things attached to them, they're not reasons to be upset. They're not they're not, and I don't mean upset in the sense of righteous anger and indignation at evil people doing evil things, but I mean in the sense that you don't walk away feeling discouraged and understanding that there is truth actually to be found. That there there is objective truth to be found in every story we cover, in in every form of justice I promote, in everything that I talk about, there is truth to be gleaned from each and every little bit of it. And I want you to walk away knowing what that truth is, believing that truth, and then knowing what to do with it. And so I know that was a very long, very long lecture on why I'm appreciative of our listeners and the connection that I think that we've formed as a station and as a show with our listeners, how I get to meet them and see them and they come to our events. You guys, it's it's awesome the sense of community that we've created here at Patriot Talk 920 here on the Lone Star Conservative. And so as a final wrap-up note of this first segment, I just again I wanted to say thank you. I I am reminded every day of how crucial it is that this show exists, that everyone is here, that everyone is listening, that everyone is participating, and that everyone wants to be here. And I don't want you to I don't want you to be here if you don't want to be here. But I want you to I want you to want to be here, and many, many of you do. And I am humbled by that. I am great. Don't think that I take it for granted I don't. I'm I'm incredibly gracious for this opportunity that I did not earn. I didn't deserve it. I'm not any better than anybody else, but God opened doors and he put me in this position for such a time as this. And that position is based upon the people, it is judged by the people who desire to hear it. And so, everyone who's listening, thank you for tuning in this morning. Thank you for being a part of the show. Thank you for for being the driver, the driving mechanism behind why this show works, why this show is successful, why this show matters, because it matters because it matters to a bunch of people who listen. So thank you for being here. Thanks for being here and tuning in. Thanks for giving me the time to speak the truth to you. And hopefully the rest of the show you enjoy and you walk away feeling encouraged. With that being said, we have a lot to go over. When we get back from the break, we're gonna jump over and talk about this Texas attorney general race. Uh, we kind of this this attorney general race actually had a debate, this high-profile debate between all four Republican primary candidates for Texas Attorney General. Of course, his early voting has now been open for a couple of days. And so this debate occurred, and uh we're gonna go over some of that debate, what that kind of looked like to give you another idea here now that we're in election season of what you're looking at, who you're looking at, why you're looking at them, all those sorts of things. We'll talk about it when we get back from the break. As always, if you would like to text in. Those text lines are open at 713-779-5978. One more time. That is 713-779-KYST. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. You are listening to the Lone Star Conservative. And Lord willing, I'll return with that debate and the results after the break.

Audience Engagement And Purpose
Transition To Texas AG Race
AG Debate: Candidates And Themes
SPEAKER_10So, candidates in the Attorney General race. That includes, of course, you have Former Department of Justice official Aaron Wright, you have U.S. Representative Chip Roy, you have State Senator Maze Middleton, and State Senator Joan Huffman. Each is, of course, vying for the seat that's now been left open by Ken Paxton, who, of course, is seeking the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate. Now it was hosted by the Republican Attorneys General Association, RAGA, like MAGA but with an R, and moderated by Blaise TV podcaster Ali Beth Stuckey. All of the candidates began by attempting to link themselves to President Donald Trump, who, of course, has not yet offered any endorsements in that particular race. And so they're all just kind of like, well, he hasn't endorsed anybody, but he knows me. He thinks I'm a good guy. Right? That kind of thing. Middleton quoted Trump as calling him a MAGA champion, rights, uh, cited Trump labeling him as a true MAGA attorney and a warrior for the Constitution. Roy highlighted his current work alongside President Trump, just passed the Save Act, which would require documentary proof of United States citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Huffman, meanwhile, referenced her working alongside the President on border security. Now, the issues covered in the debate by the moderator were things like abortion, the Islamification of the West, fraud, marijuana, oil, closed primaries, and transgenderism. Now, while the candidates generally agree on the issues and really how Texas should tackle them, hostility arose over experience and past records. In the first half of the debate, all the attacks were directed at Chip Roy, seemingly an acknowledgement, of course, of his lean in the polls. Because of course, you really want to punch up. That's usually the goal. And if you all kind of band together, you're trying to kind of shoot, maybe I'm second in a r and we can get to a runoff. If enough people are like, oh man, I don't like this guy. So they all kind of started kicking off at M. Uh Middleton today that Roy has spent 10 years fighting Trump and defending Liz Cheney. Wrights repeatedly asserted that he was the only candidate on the stage with proven courtroom experience, to which Roy said at his time serving as Texas's first assistant attorney general. This led Wright, who of course is Paxton's endorsed successor, to level this attack. He said, remember, he ha he was so ineffective, so bad at serving as Paxton's deputy that Paxton fired him. Even though he wants to cite that experience, he was so bad that he really shouldn't be running on it today. Now Roy responded, and this this is so funny, he said, That's simply not true. But I know someone who both of us worked for that endorsed me, and that's Senator Ted Cruz, and he has put his full confidence in me to serve as the attorney general of Texas. Ted, having served as a solicitor general, he knows what is necessary in that office, and I'm proud to have his full support and endorsement. Which, again, I'm not gonna hand out endorsements here, but as far as debates go, if someone accuses you of something in a debate, right, if the debate is over your experience, and you're citing that you have court experience because you were an assistant attorney general and or uh, you know, an assistant whatever, and someone comes at you and says, Yeah, but the person you were an assistant to thought you were so bad that they fired you, and you say, Well, I actually I got another endorsement from another guy who was a general at one point, but you you certainly look like you lost that point. Just as far as debate points go, that's that's not a good look. Uh Middleton and Wrights both at Dr. Roy for opposing conservative legislation in Congress on the base of states' rights. Uh Roy said, It is amazing to listen to Republican attorneys, general candidates, standing up saying they want massive federal laws to step over the state of Texas. That is a new frontier. Meanwhile, Huffman came under fire for her response to Wrights and Middleton's intent to remove the rogue Democrat district attorneys in Dallas, Harris, and Travis Counties from office for violating their oaths of office by refusing to prosecute crime. Hubbman implied that such an action cannot be done on day one or in the first month. It is a process. She proceeded to point out that the vast majority of the prosecutors in this state are great people who have their constituents' best interests at heart. Now Wright responded to that saying, This is exactly the sort of loser mentality why Republicans often don't win. Hubman then said, if it was something that could be done, it begs the question, why hasn't Paxton already done it? When Bob Didroy was the only candidate to criticize what he viewed as shortcomings in the current office, while laying out what he would do differently. He said, I don't think that the Office of the Attorney General is following the money as much as it could with the power that it has to look at the nonprofits and NGOs that are driving the Islamic invasion in the state of Texas. And so of course he waited till the end, and then he said, Reverend Middleton, I'm not a trust fund kid spending my family's money. I didn't get a precious Senate confirmed slot, spent seventy days in the administration so I could ladder climb back home in Texas. And then you have, and that's speaking, by the way, of of of Aaron Wrights, right? He came after him saying, Oh, well, I I climbed the ladder after serving for the government and I kind of got a slot in. Well, Wrights, of course, was the U.S. Department of Justice for a little over two months from late March of 2025 until June of 2025. And so Middleton closed by taking some final shots at Chip Roy. He said, I'm not returning from Washington, D.C., because I'm never going to Washington, D.C. I have always known that the fight is here. We don't have another Texas to move to. And so, of course, um I I think largely at this point, the goal of any other candidate is to force the to be second place and to force the race into a runoff. Because if you can do that, even if it's your opponents who get a lot of the votes, if you can make sure nobody gets over 50% and you're in second, you're you're set. Because then you can spend the next however long until the special election, until the runoff, you can fill it with more campaigning, scheduling, more debates, whatever that looks like for your particular campaign strategy. But as it's now, I mean, unless you just are a diehard, the the polls mean nothing. And I know there are people like that that say, I don't listen to any of the polling data. I think the polling data is entirely bogus. I think there is no truth to be gleaned from the polling data. Unless you believe that, then the polling data of any race is very clear in the attorney's general race that that Chiproy is leading the pack by a pretty significant margin. And so the only hope for anyone else to get in is for someone to get second place, to keep Chip Roy's vote under the 50% threshold, and uh to to hope that the people who voted for the other two candidates would switch their vote to you come the runoff. That's that's the only real strategy from here on out. And so uh we'll see how that goes. We'll see if it even had an effect. Uh, the problem with a lot of these debates, as I was highlighting, I believe, yesterday on the show and the day before, since we're now in early voting season, one of the main issues with debates like this are that at the end of the day, people are not paying attention. People are a lot of people are not watching the debates to find out who's the best candidate that best represents their values, has the experience that people are looking for, has the know-how to operate efficiently in the office, and not only operate efficiently, but again, in the direction that you want to go. If you want to go a little bit more moderate, a little bit more calm tackling things, you want more of an establishment presence, you're gonna go Joan Huffman. If you want someone to come in um who's promising to specifically be like the bulldog, like the Ken Paxton, well, Aaron Wrights, right? If you want someone who's a known friend of conservatives, you got Mace Milleton. And you know, these again, and if you want, you know, the leading pack horse who's you know has all this campaign material out there, you got Chip Roy, who, you know, is leading the the primary. So you have a lot of options on the table. The problem is that most people are not watching that debate to make a decision. Most people aren't watching the debate at all, unfortunately. I they should everybody should be, or at least reading about it, at least kind of hearing the issues that were tackled, what people said. That's a good idea. That's certainly what you should be doing, but most people are not doing that. As I was highlighting, most people are going based off name recognition, they're going off of commercials and advertisements, and they're going off of, well, I know this guy is is good, so I'm gonna vote for him. I think that's a terrible way to play politics. I think that is a way to play politics that is going to result in uh the what has historically resulted in and will continue to result in moderate milked toast Republicans who really shouldn't even be able to be called Republican by nature of the things that they care about and the way that they're going to do things. But that's what you end up with are people who don't represent your values because we didn't put the time in, as we the people, to vet the people we're selecting to say, hey, I actually want to know about all the candidates, and I'm not gonna look at who's paying the most money for advertisements, I'm gonna look, I'm not gonna look at who has the most money or the biggest donors. That doesn't really matter to me at all. In fact, if anything, I actually think that's an indictment on you because if you have all the big companies bet betting on you, you have all the funding from these big I would question, are you actually for the will of the people? Are you for the will of the people that gave you what however many millions of dollars? Where where do your interests lie? Because if you didn't make a lot of money, it was all grassroots donated, you know, there's a tendency to say, hey, you know what, maybe you're actually for the people. And so do not, do not go out there, skip the debate, and just vote for somebody because you know their name. Uh that that's a horrible, a horrible way to do the game. It's a horrible way to cast your vote. I would encourage you. I think the debate is actually online and you can go watch it for yourself. That's probably the best method for this, uh, because obviously you know some of the big moments weren't, you know, were covered, but you're you're gonna see far more if you actually watch the debate, if you actually pay attention to what people are saying. And so you can get a better feel uh for how the candidates speak, the things that they believe, the way that they the way that they carry themselves, uh all the their past experience, all that sort of stuff. Uh that would certainly be my encouragement would be to pay attention, to watch stuff like that in every race so that you can make the most informed decision uh going into this election. With that being said, when we get back from the break, we got a pretty wild story coming out about Tony Gonzalez. Um again, speaking of elections, I'm not usually a fan of this, these last-minute you know, news breaks to come out where there's some sort of allegations. We talked the other day about this Don Huffein stuff that's just hot garbage. We're like, ah, he bought Epstein's ranch and he's connected to Epstein, which is insane, by the way. If you read that story, I would encourage you to do a little more digging because people are just lying out of both sides of their mouth in regards to this. I I was reading all about the Epstein ranch sale and how actually Don Huffe's bought the ranch because he had the money, and the money that he spent to buy the ranch went back to the victims of Epstein's crimes. And there's just so many lies. So I don't usually like stories that come out in the middle of primary voting, uh, but this is a pretty pretty wild bombshell report about an allegation between U.S. Representative Tony Gonzalez and a romantic relationship with a former staffer, uh, of course, kind of raising some questions about his leadership and the things that he's done, as of course he's seeking re-election in a pretty contested Republican primary. We'll talk about that when we get back from the break. If you would like to text in, be a part of the show. The number is 713-779-5978. That is 713-779-KYST. Michael Wilson. You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative, and Lord willing, I'll be right back with that update after the break.

SPEAKER_20The Medicare Minute with Justin White is brought to you by Senior Health Services.
SPEAKER_19If you are of Medicare age or getting close or you have a loved one that is, be careful with those unsolicited phone calls that I know you know about. We get told about them all the time. What you need to know is that many of those phone calls are not even legal. They're coming from offshore call centers. Sometimes they're calling regardless of whether you're on the do not call list. Isn't that nice of them, by the way? It's really sweet of them to just do that because they are thinking that they can't get caught. Bottom line is when you get on there and you talk to them, they're already kind of operating sidelong of what should be done. And sometimes people end up in plans that they did not intend to enroll in. And so what do you do? Call somebody local. If you got a local agent, my gosh, call them and get in front of them. And if you don't have a good agent, think of an organization like Senior Health Services where you can sit down, talk about what you're looking for, and get the help that you need. You don't need to be talking to phone operators in other countries that you don't know who they are, where they are, or what in the world they're doing.

Clash Over Records And Strategy
SPEAKER_10The Express News reports that the former staffer provided a screenshot of a text message in which Santos Aviles wrote that she had an affair with her boss. The newspaper says it verified the message originated from her phone number. The former employee told the paper that Santos Aviles struggled emotionally after her husband learned of the alleged relationships and that Gonzalez cut off contact. However, the husband's attorney said he does not believe the alleged affair caused her death. Now, after rumors of the situation were reported, uh Gonzalez denied them, calling them completely untruthful. Nevertheless, the allegations emerge as he's, of course, facing multiple challengers in the Republican primary for Texas' 23rd Congressional District, including Brandon Herrera and former Congressman Francisco Kenseco. Now, one of the things that I want to highlight here is uh sort of a reminder for all of us, because I I try to say this all the time. Nobody is above sin. If you think you are, then you've already sinned. That's this is the funny thing about sin. If you believe that you are above sin, then you are committing sin by being prideful in your own abilities. You you you have a very serious pride issue. So none of us are above sin, not a single one of us. So the question is not are we ever gonna sin? The question is what are we gonna do about it? Are we gonna face proper justice for what we do? Do we desire that if we mess up, that we bear the burden of the repercussions, right? And this is how you can tell this is why a lot of Christians that were martyrs were willing to be martyred. Why? Because they knew that the law of the land what what the law of the land stipulated for them if they were caught doing things they did, and they did them anyways, and then accepted those. They didn't they didn't try to say, well, I I should I I should be allowed. They said, no, I have to I have to face justice for this. This is my crime. So be it. And so the question is not, are we going to ever sin? Right? Because I'm not looking at Tony Gonzalez saying, man, this is and of course there are different types of sins, right? Obviously, there's we're all gonna sin, and there are specific people who certainly went to Epstein Island to sleep with underage girls, right? Those are clearly different things. But when you're when you're caught in an affair and people are reporting on allegations, right, you're kind of caught in the middle of it, and you've done this thing, potentially. If it's the thing that you did, lying is never going to produce the results that you actually want it to. 99.999% of the time, you're going to get caught in a lie. And now not only are you someone that potentially committed an affair, but you're also someone who's potentially a liar.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_10And that that shoots credibility, I'd argue, even more than the affair thing. Because if you commit an affair and you're honest and you say, Yeah, I messed up, I did this thing, shouldn't have done this thing, I regret it wholeheartedly. I think you can come back from that. But if you say, No, no, no, there was no affair, nothing happened, nothing happened at all. And then you turn around and they get text messages where she's saying, No, we did. This this happened. And then she commits suicide. People will have to wonder, so why did you lie? So what what are these these verified text messages about that where she's talking about the affair that you had? So did she just lie? Right. Now there's a lot of questions. Of course, Tony Gonzalez is not replying to any requests for comment from any publications. He's not putting out a statement at all, kind of just flying out of the radar a bit. Uh, but this is a reminder of two things, two, two main things that I would encourage you to keep in mind here. Uh the first is a reminder that sin can happen to any of us and that we should be quick to confront it and quick to be honest about it. That that's that's number one. The other thing that I would highly encourage you to take away from this is be very careful. You should like to be in politics. The character of a man matters, and there are times where I can overlook some character flaws because we need a specific kind of leader in a specific kind of season, right? I understand that wholeheartedly. But be aware of the kind of people that you're putting your vote behind and you're putting your support behind, because there are a lot of people out there that are not good men of good character. That are not good men, and they don't they don't deserve your vote, especially on a primary where you have other options, okay? It'd be one thing if we're in the general and we're like, well, I'm gonna hold my nose because the other option is still obviously worse. I mean, th say you talk about Trump, for instance, and you say, Well, here's all the issues I have with Trump, and then you say, Yeah, but it's Trump or Kamala Harris. That's that's your vote. Pick pick one or don't vote. But if you don't vote, you could be responsible for Kamala Harris getting elected. Okay, I'm gonna vote for Trump, regardless of how you feel about Trump, right? Um So though those are my two words of wisdom. Confront the sin when you do it, and also have a standard, especially when you're in a primary, have a standard for the person you're voting for. The word of God says sin is pleasurable for a season, then it turns to gravel in your mouth. And I think that is the best summary of what sin. Does to a person. I there are lots of sins you can commit that will make you feel successful, right? Committing an affair, for instance, is one of those. You commit an affair in this position, you you have this sort of power dynamic where you got to sleep potentially with a beautiful woman who was, in a sense, subservient by nature of the job positions. And so you felt this sense of manliness and masculinity, and you got to sleep with a beautiful woman, all these things. Was it worth it? Was it worth it to violate the word of God? Was it worth it to do the thing that you knew you shouldn't do? No, the answer is always no. And by the way, not only are there, of course, eternal repercussions, ladies and gentlemen, for your sin, and don't forget that. There's also earthly consequences. And if you lie, and then people have verified text messages where they say, hey, this happened. Well, now you're an adulterer and a liar. Not just one or the other. And so be honest, confront sin. Skip the sin. Skip the sin part. And then confront it when you make mistakes. Own up to it. Be a man. Own up to the mistakes that you make. Be honest about them. Repent of them. Make you can be public about it and say, hey, I did this thing and I am publicly repenting of this thing. And I want to be held accountable. Whatever that looks like. I'm still running for election, but if you can't vote for me, don't vote for me. But I I did do this. Uh but just I uh huge encouragement. One of the biggest, don't lie. That's that's one of the biggest, do not lie. Nevertheless, with that being said, when we get back from the break, we're gonna go ahead and jump into the weather for the last segment of the first hour. We'll cover the weather we have going on today, the rest of this week. Before getting into the second hour, we have lots more stories on the horizon. So stick around. He's our, of course, midday host from 11 to 2. If you listen to the station, you probably listen to Todd. I would encourage you, text into that number. You'll get two free tickets to that event. It'll be a good time. VIP tickets. You certainly don't want to miss out on that opportunity. With that being said, to wrap up the first hour here, looking at the weather, Houston temperatures are certainly going to be expected to cool off this weekend. A pretty wild shift. Houston temperature roller coaster over the next several days begins with afternoon's climbing into the 80s this week before a weekend cold front, sends those temperatures plummeting. And so look for some patchy fog, dense haze. Given the muggy air mass that sits over Southeast Texas right now, temperatures this warm are more typical for late April, early May, but doesn't matter. That's what the weather is, so we deal with what we got. The first cold front teases Houston this week, stalling north of the I-10 corridor on Friday. Expect a spring-like day with isolated showers because it'll be the warmer southern side of the front. Again, we're not expecting severe weather, heavy rainfall, but a quick downpour. A second stronger cold front is seeping in from the north. Uh, the front is going to arrive early Saturday before noon. While Saturday will remain quite warm, you'll notice the dropping humidity through the afternoon, and by Sunday, morning imagery will fall into the 40s, possibility of dipping into the 30s just north of Houston. Sunday afternoon may end up being somewhere between 65 to 68 degrees with plenty of sunshine. And so by Monday, again, you're back in the lower 40s and upper 30s. Nevertheless, that will do it for the first hour of the show. Thank you so much for listening to the Lone Star Conservative. We'll be back right after this break with an update on this Houston anti-fascist group, denying terrorism allegations that have come out from Ken Paxton. We'll talk about all that when we get back. You're listening to Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. Stick around.

Critical Thinking And Education
SPEAKER_10Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you are listening to the Lone Star Conservative brought to you by Textellant AC Service. I was having a conversation. I had a men's fellowship with the men from our church last night, uh, and we were discussing a lot of the issues that are going on in our country right now, and how many of them certainly can be traced back to issues that rely on people's these days inability to think for themselves. And we boiled it down to many of the problems that are going on are because people are genuinely unintelligent. And intelligence, of course, is not determined merely by your level of education. I think that's what a lot of academics misunderstand. They say, Well, I have this many master's degrees and this many doctorates, so I know. I know what I'm talking about. You say, Yeah, but that that's that doesn't mean anything to me. Congratulations. You you read collegiate level books and you wrote collegiate level papers. How does that tell me how smart you actually are? I don't know if you can critically think. I don't know if the books were different, what you believe about them. You've not given me any reason credible reason to believe uh that you know anything other than what we can all read for ourselves if we're willing to. That that doesn't mean anything if you're not reading the right things. You're not learning the right things. And so a lot of the issues in the modern day are due to let's just put it simply, morons. Uh so many of the problems are just due to the fact that there's a lot of really dumb people out there. And we were talking about the no kings protest, and I mean I was I was talking, I was like, you know, the crazy thing about the no kings protest, there's there's two big problems. One is that many of these people actually are communist by nature. Meaning they do want a sort of kingship, a sort of it, not a king, but they they want a a dictatorial regime. All right. That's just why, oh, they're big fans of Mom Dani. Don't listen to the fact that Mom Dani is an avowed communist Muslim foreigner. It doesn't matter that he wants the government to take control of uh pricing control, take over businesses, run government, run grocery stores, all these sorts of things. That is far closer to some sort of communistic, you know, dictatorship than anything that you're protesting. And so that's that's the first part is they have no idea what they're. The other thing I mentioned, I I said this, I said, if you're going to protest against some regime that has overreaching control over your life, why would you pick no kings? Is it just because it sounds better? I mean, I guess that's all it is. Why is it not no dictators? Because at least with a king, and you can, you know, I know we fought a revolutionary war over this, not really, but but that's that's a historical version of it. You look at kings, and I've said this before on the show, look at the kings in Europe. This is where you had mostly the the the monarchial style leadership that differed from uh empires, it differed from uh things like uh, you know, again, communist dictators that popped up. It it differed in the sense that a lot of it was familial and it was rooted in the heritage of the nation, is the way that these monarchies were run. And I I highlighted this before I said the problem is that in order for you to take a hard stance saying that kingship is automatically a problem, is that most of the kings in European history were inarguably better than Joe Biden. So it's not that kingships are automatically just worse, right? It's not that republic republics can't be co-opted and can't be taken away from you and and can't be engineered to destroy your life and your beliefs and your values and your ideologies. I said, So I don't even know why they pick no kings, because you'd think if you're gonna pick some sort of dictator, some sort of person who is ruling over a nation with an iron fist tyrannically, who hates his people and who destroys his people, you'd think you'd pick somebody or some group of people that historically have actually destroyed their own people, and not the people who largely fought to make sure their people were provided for and protected and cared for. Right? Kings in general were pretty good at that. Again, there have been some bad apples here and there, but by and large, monarchies made sure that most of the people that lived in much of Europe were safe and secure and protected. And by the way, there was a lot more freedom than the history books would like you to believe about monarchies. As I just I was just highlighting so many people. I mean, they come out as anti-fascist. And it's like, can you define the word fascist? Do you know what fascism as a political ideology is? Do you know how fascism differs from some other form of government? Can you explain the differences? The answer to all those questions, if you ask your average Antifa member, is going to be no. Because they have no idea what they're talking about. They couldn't defend what they're talking about because they're not particularly bright. They're not the sharpest tool in the shed by any stretch of the imagination. And so they get up there and they're, ah, we're Antifa, we're anti-fascist, and they just automatically want you to believe that that means they're on the right side of history. It's it's pretty crazy. If I come out and I say, I'm anti-Epstein, everyone would say, okay, that's a pretty good thing, I suppose, to be against. But then I run my I my I call it anti-ep in short for Epstein. It's anti-ep. And in the modern day, I run my protests where we're targeting anyone who has over a million dollars because you're probably in the Epstein group if you have that kind of money. And so then we we start destroying company buildings where the company valuation is over a million dollars. And so we just loot and destroy. And I say, no, we're anti-ep. And you can see how it's all connected. You'd go, okay, so you're not actually anti-child trafficking, you're just anti-wealthy people. Right? You're not just anti-people who have been to Epstein Island and people who are connected directly to Epstein's human trafficking cult. No, you're going after people just on the basis of how hard they've worked. Those are two different things. And you can call yourself anti-ep all you want, but that doesn't mean that I actually believe you. And so when the people come out, we're we're antifa, we're anti-fascists. Like, what does that mean to you? Since you don't really know what a fascist is, what does it mean to be anti-fascist? Because to me, what it looks like is an excuse to partake in crime. To me, what it looks like to be Antifa is an excuse to try to stand against law enforcement, to try to loot and destroy, to try to dissuade people from believing in cultural norms and tradition, and an attempt to transform the makeup of the country. That's what Antifa looks like to me. It doesn't look like it actually cares at all about real fascism, or or and this is part of the problem is if you actually cared, if you saw the country drifting towards an ideology that you think is evil, rather than just saying you're anti, like I instead of becoming on saying I'm anti-Islam, I'm anti-Is, or I'm anti-com, short for anti-communist, whatever it is. No, I'm gonna have real strategic conversations with people to explain why I think those things are bad. To say, hey, yeah, so I think communism is actually an incredibly evil ideology, both in principle and in practice. I I think both sides, something like in a utopia would be fine. I think even in a utopia, we wouldn't need the laws at all because you would have good people, you could just have capitalism again. I mean, you wouldn't need them. You wouldn't need regulations if it was a utopia. And so I think in principle and in practice, communism is bad for this reason, this reason, this reason, and this reason. That's how you approach a conversation. That's not what these people do. They come in and they're we're Antifa. What that really means is that we're actually gonna try to pepper spray the police. What it actually means is we're gonna try to incite violence. What it actually means is that we're going to burn down buildings. Right? And it it it makes you wonder, do you care about fascism at all? Because if you did, you'd actually have a cohesive argument as to what direction fascism looks like, what you see as the red flags of us approaching a fascistic country, why you think it'll lead to that, and trying to be persuasive and and kind of draw people into your cause, instead of it being a cult mentality where you just say, Are you anti-fascist? And they go, Yes, you're in. Come burn down the building with me. Right? That doesn't make it make any sense. And so you have this anti-fascist organization here in Houston that is now coming out and denying allegations that it violated Texas law after Attorney General Ken Paxton announced he was suing the group over claims it had incited violent terrorism. So back at the beginning of this month, Paxton said he was launching an investigation into the Screwson Anti Fascist Committee to determine whether the group engaged in unlawful activity, including terrorism and doxing, which is, of course, the act of publishing a person's real name, location, address, all those sorts of things. There are lots of people who prefer to remain anonymous. So, for example, you see a lot of the ICE agents wearing the masks. Doxing would be here's who that guy is, here's where he lives. Right? That's that's doxing someone, publishing details that should not regularly be public, especially to encourage harassment, violence, those sorts of things. And so he said the group was self-admittedly associated with Antifa, which was designated as a terrorist group by President Donald Trump back in September. And so in a statement posted to its website just yesterday, the organization said it was being targeted by the Attorney General and called a lawsuit a blatant act of intimidation. Quote, this assertion of authority should concern everyone in Texas and beyond. He has used this tool against any perceived enemy of his agenda, including organizations that provide valuable and fully legal services to marginalized groups across the state. We fully condemn this cynical erosion of rights to score political clout. Now, of course, Baxton claimed that merchandise sold by the group promotes the death of U.S. immigration and ice uh US immigration and customs enforcement agents and encourages violence by mentally ill transgender individuals. He said, quote, radical leftists have engaged in a coordinated effort to militantly attack our nation and undermine the rule of law. Screwston and related groups have illegally doxxed Texans and encouraged violent terrorism against fellow citizens. Now, the the on the organization's online merchandise shop, if you want to know what some of the stuff says, uh they sell merchandise with phrases like anti-fascist territory, make racists afraid, as well as a poster depicting a somewhat buried skeleton lying next to an ice hat. No, that's not violence at all. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. Look, I know that we put a dead guy next to an ice hat, and I know what we're associated with, so we're basically calling for their death. I know that we say make racists afraid again. What are you afraid of? What what scares people? Oh, you mean you're afraid of us killing you? Um Who's the racist, by the way, in that statement? Yeah, it's everybody that does not subscribe to their belief on immigration or their belief on civil rights. Right? If you have any difference of opinion with them on any number of ranging issues, you're a racist. And so when they say make race afraid, ladies and gentlemen, they're largely speaking about you. You're who they're talking about. And so the reality is that Paxon has also alleged, of course, that members of Scurson participated in a Fourth of July ambush at the ICE Prairie Land Detention Center in Alvarado that left an officer wounded. And so they said uh the Attorney General's attack against the SAFC sent a clear message. Paxon is more interested in working to protect fascist organizations and their members than he is in helping Texans. Now the group did not address the allegations about if they were involved in that Fourth of July protest, but they said please read about and support the Prairie Lendants in Dallas that are being locked away on trumped-up charges, as the connection between the state's repression of them and us cannot be ignored. Similarly, the state is in the suppress SAC by creating false accusations and claims just like they did with the Prairie Land defendants. This is the state of affairs in American politics today. I mean, again, if you could take if you just pluck somebody out from literally anywhere in the country a hundred years ago, and you plop them down and you say, Hey, just read this story. They would look at you. I I don't even you'd have to define so many of the words because they're like, What what is all of that? What are they talking about? What what's going on? But if you if you made them understand what was being said, they would look at you like you are crazy. Or like they've gone crazy, like they've gone mental. They would they would look and say, What happened? Where's my country? Who are these freaks that are living on my land? Who are these people that have come in? And and and the fact that we are just put up with this and we're just content to let it go is insane. These organizations are operating behind behind closed doors, they are operating in such a way they want to call out compact. And say, well, he's intimidating us by being a fascist. You want to know what's pretty crazy about all of this? Is you're actually more dictatorial by nature, more regime oriented by nature than Ken Paxton is by the Attorney General Office. You are more interested in some sort of tyrannical control over how other people think, believe, and speak than the right is. You have such crazy stipulations for what is true that you also want to be in charge to make changes and determinations to what we're allowed to do. That is incredibly dictatorial. You say no kings, and then you're like, well, we need all of these regulations and legislation to tell you how to live your life. You go, so you're all you also want to be a dictator. You you also want a regime-oriented nation rather than a people-led nation. You also desire that you just don't like our version of it. You you you want a regime, but then you turn around, right? And you're you're telling us, yeah, but the regime needs to be under leftist liberal leadership. Otherwise, it's fascist, right? As long as we're communists, that's okay. That's not a problem. It's not like communism has killed infinitely more people than fascism has ever even tried to kill. It doesn't matter that we're not even headed for fascism. It doesn't matter that they don't even know what fascism is. It doesn't matter that when they respond to allegations, they just say that it's a targeted intimidation tactic to stand up against and to stop, you know, strong Americans who believe in the rule of law. No, no, no, no, no. They can't defend any of it. All they can do is insult the Attorney General's office. All they can do is say this is an intimidation tactic. All they can do is say, oh, well, we just believe in the rights of all people. No, you don't. You don't believe in my rights. You believe in the rights of illegals, you believe in the rights of people who shouldn't be here. You believe in the rights of doctors to cut off the bodies, cut off parts of the bodies of little children. No, you believe in radical, crazy leftist lunacy, degeneracy, and evil that leads to nothing less than pure chaos in my country. And I, for one, am completely uninterested. Maybe that's maybe that's just me. I don't care. And I think that the crazy thing is when they don't understand, um, is that people, I don't want to say that they're products of their environment. I think that's sort of pseudoscience language, but a lot of the cases of what people vouch for, what people believe in, as not in far of as far as you know, theology and and their beliefs in God, but what people believe in in terms of how the country needs to operate, because there's not a strict biblical standard on what does your country there's no biblical requirement that we're a republic, right? And that's not a thing that you'll find in the Bible. You must be a republic to be a good government. No, that's not in there. You don't have to be. There's nothing, there's nothing evil about having a king. There's nothing evil uh about being some other form of government, right? Not by nature, depending on what the government does and what the regime looks like. The reason I say that is to say that you've got a lot of young people right now, people younger than me, who are growing up in this culture. Lord help them. They are growing up watching all of this transpire. And many of them are gonna join the Antifa transgender rights BLM groups. They're gonna be indoctrinated into that. You're gonna have a large group, especially of young men. And I'm I'm telling you right now, this is what's coming down the pipeline if things don't get under control, is you you know, you ever heard the concept of you you bring your own destiny, right? You create it. And I again, I'm not saying that like legitimately, like God's not providential. But when you claim to be anti-fascist, and then you do all of these things and you destroy the culture, and you you know, you riot and you loot and you destroy and you hurt and you kill and you maim, and you do all of these things for an extended period of time. You know what you're actually driving young men to learn, like just from a pure environmental standpoint, when they're what they're learning not from their school or from their history books, but the more important thing for them is what they're learning by paying attention to what's happening around them, to watching what's going on. Do you know what you're teaching them? Do you understand what you're doing? What you're telling them is, and this is the thing I said about Islam, what you're telling people ultimately is I am evil, right? Because this is what they're gonna say. I'm evil, I need to be stopped. If you try to stop me, it's fascism. Let's do some logic here. You ask question number one Do you believe this group needs to be stopped? Yes. Okay, this group has consistently said that they stand against fascism, and if you try to stop them, it's fascism. So you want to stop them, right? Yes. Does that mean that you're a fascist? You're going to have a lot of people who are willing to answer yes to that question. I was watching a debate the other day where you had young this young guy, the the guy's like, okay, so I I definitely think that we should be removing and deportating de deportating, what am I saying? Deporting naturalized citizens on the basis of their agenda, right? If you came here and you got citizenship, but you basically lied to get here and you don't love the Constitution, you don't love American ideals, you've you're you're not actually an American at all. Because the only thing that made you an American was at least your beliefs kind of allowed you to integrate. If you don't even believe that, there's nothing Americanized about you. We should send you back home. If you come over from the Middle East and you get citizenship, but then you're a radical jihadist Muslim. I actually I'd rather just send you back to the Middle East and revoke the citizenship papers. You lied, you don't get to be here. We have strict standards. And so he said that. He said, I think there are people here uh that do not love the Constitution, that do not love the rule of law, that do not love American values, and I think those people should be denaturalized. And the guy he's debating looks at me and says, So you're a fascist then. So you're a fascist. And the kid looks at me and goes, Yeah, sure, I'm a fascist. Okay, if that's what it takes. And now this kid is, of course, and I'm not like defending fascism, be aware. This kid kind of goes off and he's like, Okay, I guess I am a fascist, starts looking into fascism and saying, okay, this isn't that bad, all these sorts of things. That's where the left is pushing young people because they're putting them in two places. They're trying to convince them, well, you're either with us or against us. If you're with us, you're good. If you're against us, you're a fascist. Well, that only leaves one door, because I'm certainly not with you. So I suppose I'm a fascist too. Right? That's where you're I'm not saying that that was me, you know, quoting somebody. That's where you're pushing young people by nature of pure observation. They're watching all of this, and what you're telling them, verbatim, is if you try to stop me, then you're a fascist. Okay, then I guess that's what I am. I suppose, because I want you to be stopped with any means necessary. I want the government actually to have the power to shut you down. I I you know, you look at Islam, for instance, and and we talked a lot on this show about the Islamification of the West, and how that was never envisioned by the founding fathers, how evil all of that is. And I've said, you know, I don't think that it's actually a violation of the First Amendment at all for a state to limit who's allowed in and what they're allowed to do. I understand that we have verifiably misinterpreted and misconstrued the Constitution to take away rights from states, right? The First Amendment was not written as a barrier to a state's ability for state sovereignty. It was written to curb federal tyranny. And so when you do that, do does Texas have the right to say if you're if you're worshiping publicly as a as a Muslim, you don't get to be here. You're gone. We're we're destroying the mosques, we're selling off your land, we're taking it by force if necessary. Yeah, we do. And we should do that. And if if that's what you mean by fascism, then any good man is probably a fascist, then by your standard. And then what you're doing is you're creating a lot of young people who also don't know their terminology because, again, the public school system is not actually educating them in anything, who says, I guess I like fascism then. And then they actually start believing that, and then you wind up in the problem where you actually are are creating pretty radicalized people, right? Which is also a danger. And so it's just so crazy to me. We're Antifa, what is fascism? I don't know. But you're fascist if you try to stop us. You mean the fact that you're inciting violence and calling for death threats, and organizations like yours are consistently involved in in looting and rioting and violence, and we want to shut you down and say that you should be able to do that. That makes us fascist. Yeah, you're a fascist because you're a government entity doing it. Okay, you're insane and you're also an idiot at the same time. With that being said, when we get back from the rake, we are gonna jump over and talk about Houston City Council member Edward Pollard, uh, who is calling for HISD superintendent Mike Miles to address the school closure plan. That's the the recent announcement where 12 schools in HISD are expected to be closed. And so you have now Edward Pollard saying, Hey, what's what's going on? What does that look like? Why are we doing that? What does that mean for the future of HISD? All those sorts of questions. But be reminded, guys, I just for a moment before the I I had a couple seconds, I just wanted to say, be reminded, okay, that that what you see and what you hear from these people about your constitution and your land and your heritage, it's all bogus, it's all lies designed to manipulate and deceive you so that you don't stand firm on the truth, the truth of scripture, the truth of American history, things that you can observe as truth by nature of its existence. Do not let them strip that away from you. Stop believing the narrative. And I know that we not a single one of us, just one on our own, can make a difference. But don't believe that the First Amendment was ever a curb to a state's sovereignty. It wasn't. That that is a modern reinterpretation, rewriting, really, of the Constitution, of the Bill of Rights. No, the First Amendment was not designed as a as a battalion as or as a as a battle axe to stop a state from exercising its own rights to determine what's in their state. That's not true. It was never designed to do that. The founding fathers wouldn't have wanted it to do it. And in fact, if anything, they would have seen the courts ruling that that's the case as the kind of federal tyranny they wanted to stop, actually. And I said the same thing about a lot of the constitutional amendments and a lot of the constitution in general. It's all fundamental misunderstandings. Oh, well, the Second Amendment doesn't actually matter because the guns were different. It had nothing to do with the type of guns. I mean, you're insane. It had everything to do. Oh, well, you actually have a military grade weapon. I sure hope so. Uh, because this is supposed to be an accountability mechanism against the government, actually. And if I don't have good guns like they do, then I'm gonna hold them accountable. And if I'm like, let's do a knife fight and you bring a little pocket knife and I bring a katana, you're like, well, I wish I had a military-grade sword here. I certainly do for this fight. I don't like being armed with a pocket knife. It's not just for defending your home from a random robber, it's also about government accountability. And so they rewrite these things in an attempt to take away your rights. And that's why when it comes to the Second Amendment, it's important that you join with our sponsor, Gun Owners of America. Gunners of America understands the reality that the Second Amendment was written maybe at a different time, but it still applies the exact same and is still a verifiable way to say that your right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. And as far as I'm aware, Gunners of America is the only large-scale gun lobby in the U.S. that actually believes that. That's why their promise of no compromise matters. And so when they're lobbying, when they're campaigning, when they're suing, right, whatever the whatever arena they're in at any given point or at multiple points at once, whatever they're doing, you know what they're standing firm on. And that is the promise, though you have the actual promise of the Constitution, the promise of the Second Amendment, the promise that God has given us to defend ourselves and defend our families and defend our homes and our homeland, by the way. All of those things. And gun owners of America is fighting for that every single day. You can go to G-Oahuston.com to become a member. That is G-O-Ahouston.com. It is a$25 annual membership,$25 per year, that goes right back to those lawsuits, to those campaigns, and to those lobbying tactics. Again, that is G-O-Ahouston.com. Like I said, we will talk about HISD, those school closures, and the response that our city council member Edward Pollard is demanding from our superintendent. That is T-O D D Todd to 346-788-0644. One more time. That is 346-788-0644. For your chance to win two tickets to the luncheon, where you'll join me as the Lunchar Conservative and Todd Starnes, our midday host, for an exclusive meet and greet lunch and signed copy of Todd Starnes' newest book, Star Spangled Blessings. And we expect it to be a very fun meetup. I mean, apart from just Todd and me, a lot of the people that go to these are just incredibly good people. And it's it's always nice to have a sense of community, people that you can talk to that largely agree with you. Uh and so I I I do very much enjoy going to these sorts of events. So I'd encourage you, especially since, again, it's free. And it includes lunch, by the way. I'm just letting it include food. I mean, that may not be as big a sale for some people. It's a big sale for me. Okay, it includes food. So two free tickets, and all you gotta do, all you have to do is text one word to one number. That that word is Todd, T-O-D-D Todd to 346-788-0644. So let's talk about this as we wrap up the segment. So, Edward Pollard is now asking Mayor John Whitmeyer to formally invite Houston ISD's superintendent Mike Miles to appear before City Council following the district's recent proposal to close 12 schools. In a letter sent to the mayor, Pollard said the closures have sparked significant concern among residents, especially given the district's current state appointed leadership. In a Facebook post, Pollard said many parents were caught off guard by the announcement. He said, quote, I recently sent a formal letter to Mayor Whitmire about the Houston Independent School District's decision to close twelve schools without prior public notice. With the district under state appointed leadership, many residents feel they lack elected representation and are seeking accountability from city council. Given the impact on students and neighborhoods, transparency is essential. So in his letter that he wrote to the mayor of Houston, Pollard emphasized that because HISD is governed by a state appointed board, families can't turn to their elected board member for help. They can't just go and talk to the guy, oh, yeah, I I elected, can you listen to what I have to say? I elected you. Can we talk? Can I find out why you're doing this? Why didn't you come talk to me? Why didn't you let parents know? But that's not really the position here because of the fact that it's state appointed. And so Edward Pollard's point, I think, is relatively fair. I think that somebody needs to speak for the parents, like the parents would in a normal system, so we want to invite him to city council. He said, as a result, parents are now turning to their city council members for information, clarity, and advocacy on school-related issues. Pollard said his office has received multiple inquiries from his constituents, from families seeking more information about the data behind the closures, the decision-making process, and transition plans for affected students. Given the scale of the closures, that it's not just one or two schools, but it's 12, Pollard said he believes it would be appropriate and beneficial for Miles to publicly address City Council and answer questions in a public forum. He said, quote, schools are foundational to the vitality of our communities and the future of our city. Ensuring that families have access to timely information and a venue for public dialogue will help maintain trust and stability during this transition. And so that all came, of course, after it was announced that 12 campuses are going to close in this upcoming school year. That's the 2026 to 2027 academic year. And again, whenever I find myself agreeing with someone that I consistently disagree with, I always make sure that I'm like double and triple checking because I'm I'm thinking to myself, did I get something wrong or did they magically get something right? What's more likely that I got something wrong or that Pollard got something right? I mean, they're they're both. They're both, you know? I don't know. Uh but I I do actually agree with him on this. I think that especially since it's state appointed and parents don't have the same connection like they would to an elected board member. I think it's fair to say, well, somebody needs to advocate on behalf of the parents. Doesn't mean that I disagree with the school closures. Doesn't mean that I think it's probably a step in the right direction, especially given, of course, that we have declining enrollment for a variety of Reasons and so you have to address that, especially with the funding that you have since we didn't pass the bond in 2024. That four and a half million dollar bond over eight billion after interest is is understood. When you look at all that, you say, okay, so it's fair. You probably do need to close some schools and move some people around, right? You need to consolidate some schools into one school. That's fair. But I do think that, okay, with that being said, where's the transparency? I want to understand why you selected those schools, what it looks like for those students. I want to see all of the actual data as to where your money is, how much money you need to function, which schools are being prioritized, why are they? I think that's fair for parents who live in the district to know and to understand. I think the government actually has an obligation, the superintendent has an obligation to reveal that information, especially since it's not being run again by local people, but it's being run by the state. And so I think Ed Poller's saying, hey, here's the compromise. How about we just get him here to city council and we can we can ask on behalf of our constituents? And I think that that is certainly a fair direction to go. With that being said, we go after the break. We're talking about Round Rock because a guy out of there has now been accused of threatening a Christian festival on Roblox. Which by the way, by the way, I you want to hear something crazy? I have played Roblox one time in my entire life. One time ever. And it was okay. They have different like Roblox is not like a lot of video games where there's like one game. I know that if you don't know video games, a lot of games there's the point. There's something that you're supposed to do. Roblox is is more like a compilation of games where you have a lot of variety as to what you want to do. So you can select something like play jail time, where there's inmates and there's police officers and you have to arrest people. There's different things you can do, a variety. Uh, but we'll talk about this story and I'll explain why I bring up that I've played it before. When we get back from the break, text in 713-779-5978 one more time. That is 713-779-KYST. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. You are listening to the Lone Star Conservative, and I'll be right back after the break.

You don't need to be talking to phone operators from other countries that you don't know who they are, where they are, or what in the world they're doing.

Paxton’s Lawsuit And Response
SPEAKER_10Wonder we got that last name. An 18-year-old resident of Round Rock was found to have made Islamic terrorist threats against a Christian festival over on the game platform Roblox. The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is considering whether a district court order to dismiss Berger's case will stand. Roblox is also under scrutiny by the state of Texas. Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the online gaming platform in a separate case, alleging that it is overrun by predators that are targeting children. So for a little bit of background, back in May of last year, mid-May last year, uh you have this FBI special agent, name is uh Carletta Carter, which submitted a sworn affidavit in the Western District of Texas alleging that in January of last year, Berger used the Roblox account Kras3 Payne to transmit threats to attack a Christian festival. It's a concert. Because the online threats crossed state lines and constituted interstate commerce, they violated federal law and as a result fell under federal jurisdiction. The FBI received a report from an individual located in the state of Nevada of a possible domestic terrorist incident being discussed on Roblox by this user. This user was then, of course, because I I think people are so dumb when they do stuff like this. And I guess it's for the best because this is the only way they get caught. But could you imagine you're you're planning to do some sort of mass terrorist event, and you tell people on your personal gaming account that can easily, I mean, so easily be traced back to you. That would be like using my Instagram to say, hey, I'm gonna blow this place up. Yeah, you know, they're immediately gonna know who that is. It has me on it. It's my name. It's my uh account. They're just gonna come find me. It's not hard to do that. And so the waitress observed Berger speak about his desire to commit martyrdom at a Christian event and that he wanted to bring humiliation to worshippers of the cross. When the witness asked if it was going to be at a church service, Berger told him it was going to be at a Christian concert. When asked when it would be, Berger said it would be months, probably April. Which man. According to Central Agent Carter Shual is the tenth month of the Islamic calendar and follows Ramadan. It corresponds to approximately March 31st of 2025 to April 28th of 2025. Now belly information provided by Roblox linked Berger to an address in Round Rock, Texas. He was also found to have accessed the account in the San Antonio and Austin areas as well, placing him within the Western District of Texas at the time he made the threatening statements. And so they investigated a search warrant at his at his residence where he lived. The reported messages were confirmed as having been set from Berger's computer, and he agreed to sit down for a voluntary interview as he was not in custody and no lawyer was present. He was afforded the opportunity to pause the interview and leave the room to pray. During the interview, he did not hold anything back when asked about the goals of his threat and and against a Christian concert. Here's here's you know what? We're gonna pause there, because we have one more segment left, and we still have enough story that I want to finish this one. So when we get back from the break, we'll say what his response was because he was asked about what he was doing, and he basically just straight up admitted it. And so we'll talk about what he said and why I continually say that Islam is such a dangerous ideology to the preservation of Western society and Western culture. To wrap up the show when we get back, you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. I'd love for our listeners to text in. This is your last opportunity to do so. SPEAKER_10So this is where it gets pretty wild. Um here's what he said. Here's the statement from this guy who's been accused of threatening uh terrorist actions against a Christian concert. He said, in response to them questioning him in this investigative process, quote, to obey and submit and live under the banner and laws of God, or just literally die trying, is the end goal. Get the heck out of the US, and if I can't, then martyrdom or bust. So that's that's his mentality. When asked of his intention behind the threats, Berger said that the intention and the action is something that is meant to or will cause terror. He admitted, I mean, it's just like I am a terrorist. Asked whether he was a terrorist, he said, I mean, yeah, by the by the sense and by my very own definition, yes, I guess, you know, I would be a terrorist. He was then asked whether he'd be looking to acquire a rifle to carry out an attack, to which he responded, yeah, pretty much. I mean, he's just nonchalant. Like, yeah, I do want to mass murder people and strike fear into the hearts of Christians. Um, investigators discovered disturbing Google searches, such as kill the disbelievers where you find them, Quran. What is the punishment for the one who insults Allah or his messenger? Are suicide attacks haram in Islam? Can you kill a woman who doesn't wear hijab and festivals happening near me? I mean, this guy is crazy. And so he told investigators that that being banned was a familiar occurrence in the Roblox game. And so an arrest warrant was issued that same day, he was arrested back in May, held without bond. And then he was indicted in June. Uh his LinkedIn account suggested he was to be part of Round Rock High School's graduating class, uh, which was held while he was, of course, not available. And so they said that he did not graduate, uh, that he did not have a troubling disciplinary record at the school, but that's easy to fly under the radar, especially at a big school. And so the government sought to detain him pretrial based on the alleged conduct. However, his counsel opposed attention, arguing that his robot statements were predicted speech and did not constitute a true threat. So they didn't hold him, and and now the decision was immediately appealed to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, and oral arguments were heard last month before a three-judge panel, consisting of Chief Judge Jennifer Elrod, Judge Corey Wilson, and Judge Jerry Smith, considering whether statements constitute a true threat and whether his Google searches should be considered as evidence. A ruling has yet to be released should they rule in the government's favor and reverse the last order. The case would go back to the Western District of Texas for further proceedings on the charges, possibly even being assigned to a different judge. But that's where we're at. And this is crazy. Oh, yeah, it's totally fine. And this guy is like Muslim and threatening to shoot up Christian festivals, and he told you he wants to, and he wants to do it, and here's how he's gonna do it. But he's not a tr that's not a true threat. People are are crazy. That'll do it for the show today. One more time, by the way, if you text Todd T-O-D-D to 346-788-0644. Again, that's 346-788-0644.
