Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative here on Patriot Talk 920. Good to be with you here. Another week kicking it off for what the last full week of June. I mean, we got we got my I don't want to say it's tied for first. It's my second favorite, I'll be honest. I'm I'm a c I'm a walking cliche because Christmas is my favorite holiday, right? Which I know everybody's like, oh, it's everybody's favorite. Yeah. For a reason. It is everyone's favorite holiday for a reason. It is the best holiday. There's just and there's only one, most of the holidays kind of trail behind Christmas. Imagine you are watching a race, like a marathon, and one guy comes in first, and then you know, it's way, way down the line when everybody else is actually kind of going through the finish line. There's only one holiday that even comes remotely close to Christmas. And it's coming up in what, less than two weeks? And of course, that's 4th of July. Fourth of July is up there. You got Christmas, you got Fourth of July, and then and then, you know, kind of trailing behind. I love Easter, don't get me wrong, but kind of trailing behind, you got Easter, you got all Halloween's Eve, Halloween, right? You've got you've got plenty of other holidays to celebrate. But Christmas and then Fourth of July, which means that I and I I think it's it's phenomenal that my two favorite holidays are basically stacked on opposite ends of the calendar, right? Technically only five months apart one way and seven months the other, but it's close to six and six. It's close to halfway through. About halfway through, I get a holiday. So every every five to seven months, I get one of my favorite holidays coming up. Just superb timing. But fourth of July is on the horizon, which I can't believe. I cannot believe, rephrase that, I can't believe it's fourth of July 2026. That's the surprise that we're we're already here 26 years into the century. We have 4th of July coming up. The midterms will be here in just a few months. The next legislative session is going to be here in just a few months. It is all very quickly showing up right in front of us. And all we can really do is get ready for it. That means every single day being aware of what's going on in our cities, our counties, and our state, and of course our nation. Um, it means being aware of how we can get involved, how we should get involved. It means being aware of what exactly the problem is. Because if you don't know the problem, I always say you can't find a solution. Right. I always use the analogy of a math problem. If I give you a math problem and I say solve it, but it I actually didn't give you the problem, I just told you to solve a blank piece of paper, you'd probably look at me pretty flabbergasted as a professor and say, I don't know what I'm doing. I I have no I I have no idea what you're asking for. And you'd be reasonable to say that. In similar fashion, if I don't present what's going on, if we don't know what's going on in our cities and our counties and our local jurisdictions and in our state and in our country, if we don't know those things, we can't really have much of an influence. We don't really know what it is that we're debating. We don't really know what it is that we're standing for, we don't really know what it is that we're fighting against. And so it requires vigilance. It requires intention. It requires the consistent ability, even when it gets, especially when it gets stressful, to be able to hunker down and say, hey, we still have to address these things. And believe you me, I know a lot of people, and I didn't, you know, you don't really realize this until you're in it. But being in politics is a mess. And I mean that in in every sense of the word. And I'm not even really in politics. I try to stay out of it's so funny. I try to stay out of politics as much as is humanly possible. But even at the level that I'm at, there every single day you're reading all of this stuff. You're paying attention and you're you're thinking, hey, what am I gonna talk about? How am I gonna address this issue? What's the direction I need to go? Because any given story has dozens of possibilities of places you could take it, little niche areas you could talk about in regards to that thing. And I have to pick, and so you're constantly analyzing all the things that you're reading and taking in. And by the end of it, you know, it does. There are plenty of days where you're looking and you're just, you're worn out of dealing with it. You're looking at it, you're just like, I don't want to deal with this anymore. And it's in those days, and everybody has them, it's in those days that we have to say, no, I have not only the right, but as our founders believed, I have the duty to stand against these oppressions. I I have a duty to stand against such tyranny. I have a duty to stand against evil. And that means that there will be days where you don't feel like it. And those are the days where it's even more important that you stand.

Fort Worth ISD Lawsuit Explained

Now I want to kick it off here in the first hour with a story coming out of this principle in in Fort Worth IST. And we actually talked a little bit about this woman very briefly before, but now there's a whole bunch of kind of add-ons, addendums to the story, updates, if you will, that I want to go over and kind of highlight where we go from here. A federal civil rights lawsuit has been filed against the Fort Worth Independent School District over its decision to reassign a newly promoted high school principal after parents and community members raised alarms about her pro-Palestinian and pro-Sharia social media activity. Back in May, that was just last month, Fort Worth ISD announced that longtime district administrator Sheyema Al-Zubi had been promoted to serve as principal of Western Hills High School for the 2026 to 2027 school year. Al-Zubi signed her principal contract and compensation paperwork earlier that month, according to the suit. Days after the public announcement, conservative activists, as they should have, by the way, if they saw this, uh, circulated screenshots of her posts from her social media, including content stating Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine, Palestine flags, Black Lives Matter, I support DACA, other posts where she was praising mask mandates, defending Sharia as this personal religious framework, all this sort of stuff, right? And as that kind of escalated, that controversy kept growing, district leaders said, hey, this is a mess. We don't want to deal with the conflict. We'd rather just kind of back down. Uh, they reassigned her, pending an investigation into whether her posts aligned with the district's staff social media policies. And so late last week, the Council on American Islamic Relations, or CARE, and its Texas chapter, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Fort Worth ISD on Al Zubi's behalf, according for uh uh accusing Fort Worth ISD of yielding to anti-Muslim bias and hysteria and punishing her constitutionally protected speech. Now, CARE, of course, it's interesting. It's kind of like when you get an endorsement that you really don't want, or at least it should be. CARE, of course, has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization, a transnational criminal organization. These are organizations that are operating behind the scenes in terrorist manners, supporting terrorist groups, fundraising terroristically. All of these sorts of precepts and principles go into it, kind of earn this designation. But care is this supposedly pro-Muslim civil rights group, right? They have a national office, and of course, as a lot of nonprofits, they have independent chapters all across the country. But you you have care fighting on your behalf, and obviously for her, that's a benefit, right? Because for her, well, they're Muslim and they support me and they'll back me up and they have the funding and I don't have to worry about it. But for everybody watching, it this is one of those moments where you feel vindicated. You say, okay, so we didn't want you as principal because of your pro-Sharia views. Well, that's civil rights violation. But then the person representing you is a known designated terrorist organization. So we think, so you are in favor of this sort of stuff. So the stuff that we we we wanted you gone over is the same group of people that's now representing you. You're just proving the point. You're you're now showing us who's on your side. You're you're only taking it further and highlighting even more why we needed you not around. And so, of course, uh they've also tried to file a lawsuit care on their own behalf, saying that Abbott's designation is wrong and they shouldn't be called a terrorist organization. Anyways, uh, in this Fort Worth ISD case, Al Zubi claims that she's been left in a limbo reassignment in the district's performance management and school choice department without any formal outcome to the investigation. She argues that Fort Worth ISD's actions violate the First Amendment's Free Speech Clause and the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. The complaint asks a federal judge to order Fort Worth ISD to put Al Zubi back into the Western Hills principal job for the coming school year. It also seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorneys' fees, and litigation costs, arguing that the actions of the district have damaged her career, her reputation, and her ability to carry out the duties of a campus leader she had already been hired to perform. And so care attorney Ghir Abbas called the case the clearest violation of the First Amendment the organization has seen this year and is urging the district to reverse course without waiting for a court order. For now, she is still uh reassigned and the investigation is continuing on the Fort Worth IST side. We have not gotten an update from Fort Worth IST, they don't require requested, they don't respond to any media requests, so we don't know what their plans are, if they're going to go ahead and reassign or back. We don't know any of that.

Free Speech Versus Campus Leadership

Um, but I I think we should be very clear about what this is all about because care, of course, wants this kind of framed as this sort of clear-cut, clean First Amendment case. And they want you to believe if if you take their view of this whole court case, they want you to see that this heroic educator, this heroic principal, posted a few harmless opinions on her personal social media, and angry conspiracy theorist conservatives got mad and a school district caved to bigotry. That's the presentation of what happened. That that is their outline, essentially. That's the story they want in the media. Uh, but you're not actually obligated to accept that framing at all. In fact, I think you're obligated to not accept that framing because this is not a private citizen quietly holding personal beliefs in his or her own home. In this case, it would be a her. This is someone who was going to be the principal of a public high school, meaning she would have authority over students and teachers and the culture at the campus where she worked and parental trust and the the basic kind of moral foundation of the entire area that she served. It's a very important job to have. And so when parents and activists sort of saw this public-facing political and ideological content, which she posted, she actively chose to post it tied to DACA and BLM and mask mandates and sharia and all these things. I think we have every right, and again, every duty to ask a very basic question about all of the stuff that's going on. Is this woman even capable of leading a school, a public school, in a neutral direction, or is she going to bring her activist worldview, which is anti-Western by nature, into the office of principal? And again, that's not a bigotry question, right? That's being fair with who supports our young people, right? Public schools do not belong to activist groups, right? They do not belong to care. Uh, they don't belong to these ideological perspectives or even to the federal government, really. Uh, they belong to the families and the taxpayers. That's that's who public school belongs to. Now, of course, legally, care is gonna argue this protective speech, right? They're gonna say that she was punished for her political and religious viewpoints. And because of the way that the modern courts have interpreted the First Amendment through the lens of the 14th, right, uh, then Fort Worth ISD does have certain constitutional limitations, which is unfortunate. Uh, but I think the point is that the First Amendment does not automatically entitle somebody to a leadership position in a public school district when they've made comments that don't align with what we expect out of a public school administrator, right? There's a difference saying that there is a very clear difference in saying, you know, you can't believe this. You're not allowed to believe this, and saying, hey, you don't have a right to be the face and leader of our children's campus. And if you're saying and doing things that don't align with our expectations for who's gonna lead our young people and influence our young people, since you don't have a right to do that and it's a privilege, we should be looking at the way you behave. We should be looking at the things you believe. And that should be our justification for whether or not we think that you're able to do that in the way that we deem appropriate, right? That that's a very important distinction because you know, if a school principal, let's be honest, right? I I'm never gonna be in the position of school principal. You want to know why? Because if you look back through my beliefs and you say, well, he's a Christian nationalist and he opposes mass immigration and he praises traditional Christian civilization, he's he's Islamophobic, and he he's anti-left-wing policy, and he thinks America should be governed according to basic biblical moral principles. Does anyone think, one, that I'd ever get the job? That if I ever did get the job, that they would keep me there. And does anyone think that if they did fire me, that care would ever step up and and the ACLU and the media, would they ever be in my corner defending me? Of course not. Because this has nothing to do with the First Amendment at all. It has to do with protecting Islam in the West. That's that's all this is about. They would they would in fact be on the opposite side. They would be the ones demanding an investigation, demanding a reassignment. Uh they would demand to know um whether every Muslim student and left-wing student and immigrant student would feel quote unquote safe under my leadership. That would be their they would be demanding that I be, I be let go, right? Because it's a double standard for them. And KARE's involvement, of course, just draws this whole thing back, right? This is an organization that we know is is designated as this foreign terrorist organization that has been supporting extremism and subverting American law. And so at the heart of this, I think parents are rightfully asking: hey, is this the kind of person that we want someone leading our kids? Is this the kind of person that we want ultimately determining how our children are raised? And and look, this is not about one single principle either, right? It's about whether Texans are allowed to defend our institutions from ideologies that, let's be honest, let's not mince words, are automatically hostile to our civilization. Right? Because care wants you to believe again that this is just simple religious discrimination, that this is, hey, you're you're discriminating against us. They want to collapse every single criticism we have into one word, bigotry. That's what they want. They want every single bit of this from our issues with Islam and Sharia and BLM and mask mandates. They want all these things to go into, well, you're just a bigot. Well, you're just hateful and judgmental. But we're not actually required to play that game at all. You realize that, right? We're allowed to say that's actually not correct. We're we're allowed to say, hey, I think the courts have actually interpreted the First Amendment incorrectly through an updated modern lens that they shouldn't be interpreting it through. You're allowed to believe that. You're allowed to say that the courts have gotten it wrong. You are allowed, and in fact, you have a duty when the truth is not being spoken from the courts to say, hey, they messed up. They got it wrong. The First Amendment does not bar states from saying, hey, we don't want a pro-Islam principle in our public schools. We're allowed to say that. That's not, I don't want to say it's not discrimination because it is. But again, that word has been turned into a dirty word, discrimination. It's it's been turned into something that is inherently evil, inherently gross. You're not allowed to discriminate. Discrimination, that's, Michael, that's that's that's that's partiality. Yes, it is. The Bible doesn't actually condemn partiality. Right. And this is again where the left has weaponized your faith against you, a faith they don't even believe in. Right? The left is filled with Muslims and atheists, but they'll take their beliefs which are not aligned with yours, and then they'll bully you by claiming to know the Bible and use Jesus and the Word of God as a battering ram to to, again, to intimidate you into aligning with them. Well, the Bible condemns partiality and judgment. No, it doesn't. It it absolutely does not. The Bible condemns hasty judgment, it condemns

Discrimination, Partiality, And Moral Judgment

hypocritical judgment, and it condemns sinful partiality. Those are not the same things as judgment and partiality. There are qualifiers. Of course you should be partial. Of course there are times and places. You should, of course, be partial. Let me give you an example of this. Should you love every woman the way you love your wife? Yeah, I can I can hear already a bunch of people saying, what is wrong with you? Of course not. Well, of course we know that's insane. Of course we recognize that that is a crazy thing to think. Of course you should love your wife differently than you love any other woman. And that doesn't mean that you hate women, right? That doesn't mean that you have a genuine hatred for other women, but it means that there's a level of partiality. Your first primary concern in the way that you love your wife is different, right? In similar fashion, you're allowed to love your ideology. You're allowed to love your people, your countrymen, and your heritage and your culture more than someone else's. You're allowed to do that. That's not sinful partiality. That is basic human partiality that God has given us free reign to have. And again, that doesn't mean blanket hatred for any other group of people, right? You can obviously take it there and that would become sinful. But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about whether or not we should have these sorts of people in our country, whether or not we should have these people leading in our country and raising our young people and influencing their hearts and minds. And that's is that discrimination? Of course it is. But there's negative discrimination and there's positive discrimination. We should be able to say, hey, yeah, I do want to discriminate. Yeah, actually, I don't want serial killers running the FBI. Right? Actually, yes, I I am partial to not have serial killers in in positions of law enforcement leadership, right? I actually don't want that. That's totally justifiable. You're allowed when you make judgments to say, hey, this person has done evil things. I actually think that that makes them evil unless they receive the grace of God and repent. That's not hasty or sinful judgment. That's basic Christian judgment, which we should have and we should use because God has given us wisdom and he's given us brains that work. And so I know that we've been, especially in the modern day, bullied into hearing discrimination automatically thinking, well, that's not good. We shouldn't do that. We've been bullied into hearing judgment and saying, well, that's not good, we shouldn't do that. But I would encourage you to research the First Amendment, the history of this country, and what the word actually says, because we're actually not obligated to accept pro-Sharia candidates into our principal offices. We actually have a moral duty to not let that happen and to say, hey, this is evil, this is corrupting, this is hostile to Western ideology, and we don't want it here. If you're a teacher who came out and you supported BLM and mask mandates and all these other crazy things, I actually don't think that you're in the position to be helping aid in the way that our children are being educated. I think that should be reserved for people who align with Western ideology. And that should be reserved for people who align with the moral foundation of our country. And I certainly think that states and local districts should have the right to determine that. As I've said the 14th Amendment has been absolutely disastrous for our country. I mean, unbelievably so. Because it's it's allowed stuff like this to fester and to grow, and we're not allowed to say anything about it. Well, that time has come and gone. The time where, well, it's all niceties and and we just want to live and let live, that time ended. Probably during the COVID time is when that really ended. It should have ended long before that, but it's especially ended now. And people realize and they recognize, hey, things have gotten bad, and we're allowed to have conversations about things like remigration. You know, if you don't know what remigration is, you should look it up sometime. But it's it's essentially the understanding that, hey, some of the people we let in our country, we shouldn't have let in our country in the first place. And just because a government entity said you can come here and become a citizen doesn't mean that was a morally good decision, and we're allowed to reject that and say, hey, nope, we made a mistake. Our country failed us, they didn't do the right thing, you're going back home. You do not align with our ideology and with our country. You cannot operate here. You are a net negative on the country, go home. And again, that doesn't make us evil. That doesn't make us bigoted or hateful. It means that we're standing for our country, we're standing for our values, we're standing for our posterity. And we have to be willing and able to do that.

And that means accountability. And it is the number one thing it means, and it's going to mean, especially going forward, is that we're not fearful of man. Because if we're if we're afraid of what people think of us, if we're afraid of Of what the media is going to say about us, right? Then we're never gonna speak up. Right. You're gonna get because of course, I I can testify firsthand to this. You're going to get clipped out of context. People are gonna say crazy, horrible things about you, right? People are gonna say things, this happened to me a while back. I've been I've been certainly clipped out of context. Saying things that you clip them out and they s and and people have said, well, that sounds crazy. What this guy's defending this or that. Is he I I've been accused of just wildly heinous things based on no evidence at all because of places I've been clipped out of context. And you know what I could have done is say, well, I guess I probably shouldn't speak anymore because they're gonna hate me. They're gonna target me, they're gonna call me mean names, they're gonna accuse me of things I haven't done. But I knew that going in. If we allow that fear to drive us and to say, hey, I'm not gonna speak the truth, actually. I'm not gonna speak the truth about the 14th Amendment or the First Amendment, I'm not gonna speak the truth about moral clarity and about American history and Western civilization, I'm not gonna speak the truth about what immigration is supposed to be for because I'm gonna be called mean names, then we're never gonna speak up at all. And so we cannot allow fear to drive what we speak. We cannot allow fear to determine how we're going to act. You know what should determine that? The truth. The word of God, history, reality, ideology. Those things, the Holy Spirit, those things should be driving us. Mendoza Shooting Case And Video Updates

The Texas Rangers met with the family attorney and father of John Mendoza Jr. on Friday, according to family attorney Charles Adams, to provide an update on the ongoing investigation into the young man's death at the hands of a former Brizouria County Sheriff's Office deputy. Adams said in a statement posted on Facebook that the meeting with the Rangers was cordial but left him deeply concerned about the direction of the investigation. He said the law enforcement focus is squarely on building a manslaughter/slash accidental discharge case against Deputy Tippett, and I continue to strongly disagree with that conclusion. During the meeting, Adams said the Rangers confirmed the existence of both dash camera footage and body worn camera footage capturing the encounter. While the Rangers did not share that video during the meeting, they indicated that Brisoria County Dis attorney Tom Selleck intends to make the video evidence available to the family this week. Now, attorney Norman Giles, who represents Brisoria County on matters related to this case, said the county could not confirm about the family being able to review the video. But Adams, of course, the family attorney, said that's that'd be a great idea. He said I applaud the decision and thankful that D.A. Selleck has decided to be transparent with the family, and I'm hopeful that full transparency with the community will follow. Now, according to Adams, two officers from the Richmond Police Department, not Deputy Tippett, were the ones at the park where Mendoza Jr. and other young men had been hanging out that evening. Video and officer accounts from the park confirmed the young men were not engaged in any illegal activity and were not approached by law enforcement. The Ranger Rangers were unclear about what initially justified the traffic stop, suggesting that Mendoza Jr. may have accelerated quickly from an intersection, and that he fled before the officer made full contact. Now, according to what Adams says the Rangers shared, Debuty Dibbett ran up to the vehicle alone with his firearm drawn immediately after the pursuit ended. They confirmed the weapon was a Glock semi-automatic pistol. He allegedly raised the gun as he approached and fired a single shot through the window glass, killing Mendoza Jr. Adams had the Rangers explained that Tippett issued no commands or directives before firing and offered no observable justification for the use of deadly force. They also said Tippett reclaims not to recall firing his weapon intentionally. Adams pushed back strongly on the Rangers framing. He said the Rangers used the term sympathetic movement and suggested that they have seen no evidence to support a murder charge. Despite repeatedly denying they have taken a formal charging position, they are clearly framing this as an accidental death and posturing it as manslaughter. I do not understand this legal reasoning. He said the deputy is allegedly on video, raising his gun, pointing it at John Jr., and then shooting and killing him without verbal commands or warnings. Anyone else shooting someone in the back or shoulder without provocation on video would already be charged with murder with no effort made to minimize the charge. This is a protection offered only to law enforcement by other law enforcement in America. According to Adams, the Ranger said they obtained the red dot training manuals from a firearms course the tip had attended in the weeks before the shooting. He said they told him there was nothing in the manual indicating officers were taught to place their finger on the trigger when approaching a vehicle in a low-ready position, but acknowledged it may have been a verbal instruction from the trainer. You don't know what they're going to teach in every specific class. Adams noted that the Rangers agreed that if such instruction had been given, it would contradict all firearm safety training they'd encountered through their careers. And so, of course, the family lawyer said, given the totality of the evidence, uh it points to an unlawful killing. He said it appears the deputy tippett sum summarily executed John Jr. seconds after exiting his vehicle with an illegally and wholly unjustified use of deadly force, and that all efforts by the state and county are being made to minimize both his and the county's criminal and civil exposure rather than holding everyone fully accountable. Adams says that he remains hopeful that the district district attorney will po pursue a murder charge. He said you cannot run up to someone and shoot him or her in the back, killing the person in Texas without very specific legal justifications. The Rangers made it clear that is what occurred, and there was no justification for it. When someone does that in the great state, it is murder. Now, I have two different directions I want to go with this. Uh the first and and foremost, I think the greatest importance is a logical point, and that is that, of course, every single person should be held fully accountable for their actions, regardless of who they are. Right. We believe that. You want to go back to sinful partiality, it would be sinful partiality to minimize incidents based on who the person is committing them. We all understand that. We should all hopefully agree with that. If you can't agree with that, then I would very encourage you, very much encourage you to look inward and decide and and think very clearly about what's driving your ability to allow this partiality to take over, right? Because all of us here on the station support law enforcement greatly. We all believe in backing the blue. We all believe in funding for our law enforcement officers. We understand the danger and the importance of what they do. All of that being understood, we also understand that if you do something wrong, regardless of who you are, you must be held accountable for those actions. What we cannot allow ourselves to become is someone that defends a certain class of people. Once we go there, we're not coming back from it, not anytime soon. And if we start to allow ourselves to justify this sort of, you know, partial weight and measures against certain groups of people as opposed to other groups of people, we're gonna find ourselves in a wholly unjust society. That's that's where we're gonna end up. And you can support law enforcement as much as humanly possible and still say if you did something you shouldn't have done, we should pursue charges that indicate what you did. Now, with that understanding, I'm not coming out and agreeing with the family lawyer. I I have not seen the video footage. I didn't get to speak to the Texas Rangers. I'm not the one who was in that room. I have no idea what their position is. I have no idea what their claims are. We have to have a level of due process in this country as well. We have to balance that. We have to say you have to charge what you believe, you have to look at all of the evidence, you have to take it before a court, and you have to finalize all this stuff. We have to understand what went on, how it went on, why it went on, and form a comprehensive view of the entirety of the story. We don't get to take just the Texas Rangers version of it, or just the deputies, or just the Brazoria County's version of it, or the family's version of it, or the attorney's version of it. We have to take a full look, a full view at all the evidence, and we don't have enough of that to make a fair justification right now. Simply we don't. But this also, I think, preaches a very important point about your ability to defend yourself. Because the reality is we do live in a state where things can be dang it's every state, but we live in a country and we live in a world where you're not always going to be safe. And you can't always rely on law enforcement to be there in time, to behave appropriately, uh, to make it before you need them. Right? We know that. We understand that. Houston Linked Medicare Fraud Allegations

A nurse practitioner from Nevada has been charged with multiple federal felonies after being accused of using clinics in the Houston area to steal hundreds of millions of dollars from Medicare. Marizel Yuki of Las Vegas was indicted late last week on federal Medicare fraud charges. Yuki is accused of working with others to defraud terminally ill people by providing them with unnecessary treatments and then billing the government for their care. Yuki allegedly bribed healthcare providers to make referrals to her business and received kickbacks from distributors whose treatments she used. Over the course of nearly three years, Yuki billed Medicare and TRICARE, which is of course the medical insurance plan for members of the military, for more than $906 million. From those claims, the conspirators received about $300 million in payments. Yuki used the money to buy luxury items for herself, including a Ferrari supercar, a Bulgari necklace, which was more expensive than the Ferrari, by the way, a $1 million home in Hawaii, which is what, like a studio apartment, and a $4.6 million beach resort in the Philippines, which is an actual resort, right? According to the indictment. She's a nurse practitioner. She is the owner of multiple clinics, including two located in Manville and Paraland. Three of the businesses advertised themselves as treating wounds. Yuki's businesses provided skin substitute allographs, bioengineered from donated placental tissue to treat wounds. She allegedly paid healthcare providers to refer patients to her businesses. She would then give the patients graphs that were medically unreasonable and unnecessary, according to the indictment. Her clinics applied those graphs to wounds that weren't infected or that had already healed, and she applied those graphs, again, according to the indictment, to maximize profits and gave treatments to wounds that wouldn't heal because of a patient's condition. In some cases, hospice patients treated by Yuki died within days of receiving their graphs. She also allegedly falsified records to make it look as if the treatments were reasonable. When it came down to seek reimbursement for Medicare for the treatments, she directed a billing company to send invoices seeking more than double the amount she paid. So on top of them being unreasonable and unnecessary and useless, she also double charged for them. And so she billed the government about one million dollars for every patient she treated. The government, of course, is accusing Yuki of using the money to fund her lavish lifestyle, which includes a photograph of the diamond necklace as well as a rendering of the ultra coastal beach resort. In Santa Ana, which is a resort town in the northern part of the Philippines. And they're seeking to seize multiple properties, including her homes in Hawaii and Las Vegas, as well as a commercial property in Paraland. A warrant was a warrant for her arrest was again issued late last week. It's not clear as if she's been arrested yet, but there was the warrant out. Yuki last year was sued in a Nevada federal court by one of the companies that provided her companies with the skin grafts. Um the company accused Yuki and her daughter of built it out of $29 million. So also basically stealing the graphs and then using them medically unnecessary and then double charging for them. It's a whole big scheme, totaling nearly a billion dollars in Medicare fraud. And so, yeah, all I really have to say about that is hold every single person like this accountable. We can't we can't operate if we're going to allow stuff like this to happen. You wonder why things are so outrageous, because there's a lot of this fraud. A lot of it is much smaller where it never gets caught. But there's a reason that we spend almost half of our annual budget at the federal level on some form of welfare or another. Houston Weather Shift And Heat Dome

The weather pattern across the Houston area is beginning to shift as a strengthening ridge of high pressure suppresses rain chances, which of course returns us to a more typical late June mix of both heat and muggy conditions humidity. Now we have not yet recorded a 100 degree day this year. Uh and and by the way, temperatures this week are expected to stay just shy of that mark. Uh, with above normal warmth favored through the end of June and into early July, our first triple-digit temperature day could be getting pretty close. A training range of high pressure along our coast is going to gradually take control of our weather pattern, which brings, again, less rain, fewer rain chances, and a return to more typical late June conditions. After a wetter and more unsettled stretch of weather, where we got rain even we didn't expect it, by the way, over the weekend, rain chances are expected to decline as the range is strengthening overhead. High temperatures will climb back into the low to mid nineties across much of our Houston area, while overnight lows remain warm and muggy in the upper 70s. Those temperatures are not unusual over this time of year, but humidity is the bigger part of this. Even though air temperatures are expected to do remain below 100 degrees, the combination of heat, high dew points, and lingering moisture in the soil from the rain could push those heat index values well into the triple digits during the afternoon hours this week. And so the heat is being fueled by that strengthening upper level ridge, often referred to, we talked about it last year a lot, as a heat dome, which acts as a sort of lid on the atmosphere, suppressing widespread thunderstorm development and allowing temperatures to climb. As a result, we're expected to see a stretch of hotter afternoons, fewer rain chances, and more sunshine through at least next weekend. And so current forecasting really showed daytime highs in the mid-90s through the work week falling short of that 100 degree mark. The large-scale weather pattern favors above normal conditions across much of our area through the end of June, with below normal precipitation favored across portions of southeast uh southeast Texas. Now, for us, that above-normal warmth may be driven by as uh, you know, unusually warm nights as well as hot afternoons. Overnight temperatures could struggle to fall much below 80 degrees, which limits any opportunities to kind of cool off overnight, which contributes to, again, staying that steadily warming pattern. And while we are expected to rain below 100 degrees for at least today and most of this week, that above normal warmth favored into early July suggests that we could be getting pretty close going into July, especially with July being, you know, only a little over a week away. What, next Wednesday is July 1st? I might be wrong on that, pretty sure. So be aware of that as you're going about making plans of your week. You should be able to make plans that require you to be outdoors. We're not looking at much rain, but we are looking at hot and humid conditions. So do be aware of that. Medicare Monday Tools And Responsible AI

And joining me today, of course, for Medicare Monday is Justin White from Senior Health Services. And the theme of today's show, today's segment for Medicare Monday, is going to be interesting. We're going to be talking about tools in general, and I don't mean the tools you find in your garage. So very, very similar point, uh, but how tools should be used, what sort of tools we're talking about, all that, and so much more coming up this morning. Welcome to the show, Justin. Hey, good to be here as always. Thank you, Michael. Of course. Let's kick it off with the first tool I want to talk about, and that is AI. There's been a lot of conversations over data centers and, you know, how how widespread the use of AI is, should become, what you can use it for, uh, ethical considerations, all these sorts of things have been going around. And I think it's very interesting to talk to you about this because a lot of companies have made a massive switch to being, I don't want to say AI run, but you you call in and every every person you already talked to isn't a person at all. It's a robot. Can you kind of walk us through how your approach to AI and your business kind of differs from that?

Well, I I think I think this is a developing situation, and nobody exactly knows what the final impact uh is gonna be, but um I I think there's a balanced approach that people have to take. Um there's gonna be some that are gonna go, oh AI, we don't want to use them at all because of all the things that you said, and so they overcorrect in that direction, and then you've got folks to go and they just turn into robots themselves, and you never know who you're talking to. And so what we try to do is I would like to call us AI, where we use AI to make us better at what we do, to make sure that we have the latest information where we can inform people of uh of different information that the questions that we answer are being answered uh accurately, and we have to use AI as a fact checker or to get more information or to help us have ways to explain it to people better. But the people that are doing the explaining are gonna be um actual, you know, living, breathing human beings. And I think that's important as well to your point. Uh, you know, just because we have this tool does not mean that we need to just go completely synthetic on everything. And unfortunately, I we're seeing a lot of that across the board, as I'm sure everybody listening to this knows.

Yeah, and it's unfortunate there's an interesting balance that you're kind of highlighting that I want to mention because you know, at every available point of technological innovation, you've had the detractors, right? When when Google became a thing, you had people who said, no, don't use computers. No, those things, you know, you have people at any point who say these things are inherently bad. And I've always been anti-that perspective because tools are not inherently bad. It's how they're being used and how they're being abused. And in a similar fashion, AI is not inherently bad. Now, do I think that it's dangerous when you're replacing people with AI? Absolutely. I think that God made us to interact with one another and have real human conversations and have a level of sympathy and emotion that a robot will never have because it doesn't have a soul. At the same time, I think it would be a waste of everybody's time and resources if we didn't use the tools available that God's given us, given innovation and technological growth and our own minds. If we didn't use those things, I think it would also be a waste. So I'm very interested to see how that continues to play out with senior health services and how you guys operate because you're sticking to that. Hey, we want to be able to use the tools that we have while also making sure that our number one goal is to make sure that we're being good people to the people that we're assisting.

Well, that's exactly right. And the best thing that we can do is to use AI to the extent that we possibly can is to, you know, is to make us better informed so that we can be accurate. I mean, you know, let's face it, I mean, one of the reasons that AI has come along, and unfortunately, this is something I think that social media and a lot of things have done to us generally is that people have have a tendency to be intellectually lazy, you know, and they they depend too much on you know on artificial sources of intelligence to where they really can't there's a lot of people that can't even have a conversation anymore, right? And so I think you gotta be very careful with that. So a lot of the bosses and people have been running companies have been complaining about the degradation of human capital for a while. And so, you know, so that's been an issue that we've kind of reminded me of the the affordable care when you know Obama came in and threw our medical system into the garbage in exchange for this APA marketplace thing. And then just garbage. Everything that everybody predicted on that came to pay. But the reason it came to the interesting lazy ingredient rather than going and saying you better fix these things, we need more than true garbage, we need this, we need that. We need to include the whole thing in the garbage and uh and then start it over and what you need and then something less than what we had before, and that's important. It's like people need to use the tools and be better versions of themselves by using the stuff available as opposed to just laying there and doing nothing and being terrible. And the company that say we're not gonna use it at all, I would say, well, that is really that's gonna be really bad because with human capital, how do we know that you're telling us the latest, greatest, and most accurate information possible? And uh, you know, and so that's that's that's why that balance has got to come in where you gotta acknowledge progress, but you can't allow yourself to be progressed right out of the whole equation. Right. And uh, you know, does that make sense?

No, absolutely. And I talk about progress a lot because I say progress only for the sake of progress is bad, but progress in service of human ability and of human and of human growth is good. And so if our only goal is just progress for the sake of it, we're gonna find ourselves in a deep, deep hole. But if we're saying, no, we're progressing towards something that's good for people, then we can succeed. And that's the same again with any tool. And so the other tool I want to talk about is Medicare itself. Obviously, this is a tool, right? As the same as any other, designed to it it can operate well when it assists people, and it can, of course, be abused. And uh, I was actually talking about earlier on the show this morning, for those of our listeners who missed it, this Nevada woman who had she's operating out of Houston clinics, even though she's from Nevada, and she is being accused of like $906 million in Medicare fraud where she was buying these skin grafts. There's a separate suit, by the way, from the skin graft company that says that she was uh, you know, not paying what she owed them, something like $30 million. And then she was performing, according to the indictment from the federal government, unreasonable and unnecessary skin grafts on patients uh in hospice and in other conditions that that again got up to like $906 million. She bought a Ferrari, a $800,000 necklace, she bought a resort in the Philippines. They're trying to seize all of that, uh houses in Hawaii, and they're saying, hey, the reality is you want to know why sometimes things get more expensive because there's people doing stuff like this.

That's exactly right. And uh people need to really keep their eyes open. If you feel like that you're getting that you're in in a situation where you're kind of wondering what's going on, and you see some things, you know, charges, or you you get a bill and and you did not receive that service. I mean, Medicare fraud is going on. Now, that's a very egregious big example. Most Medicare fraud are very small things, right? There's small things done over and over and over and over and over again. Um, and you just get that being done by lots and lots of people, and that's a and that's obviously that ends up to be a lot more than a billion. That lady just happened to be extra dumb. Uh do anything like that. You know what I mean? It's just ridiculous. Yeah, clearly. You know, I don't know what it was. Maybe that was some sort of Freudian something or other. I'm I'm a loser and I'm gonna do that so that I get caught and it'll make me stop. I just don't know. But yeah, it's exactly right. But I would say, just as a final word for me on this thing, you know, I've got I take all this stuff very seriously, as everybody probably knows by now. And you know, so I've got three different AI accounts. I've got a I've just got three of the of the big major ones. And the reason I do that is on especially odd situations, you know, I will triangulate and I'll ask more than one AI the same question, and then I'll get the answer and I'll reword it and I'll run it through another one just to make sure that to the extent that we can do that, we're as accurate as possible. And if you get the same answer from several different places, several different times, you can pretty well bank on the fact that that's gonna be about as accurate as it can be. And so I don't want everybody to think that we're out here just going, oh my gosh, you know, Chat GPT knows everything, and we just take that for everything it is. Um, we're we're careful with that as well.

And again, it is important that we understand what tools are for. I mean, the reality is I think that it's the same kind of conversation we have about the Second Amendment in general, but it it applies to so many things. I think there is the danger that we start looking at tools and saying that the tool is inherently bad. Uh-huh. That the tool is inherently evil. And that's simply not the case. Now, there are tools that have been used historically for evil in the past. There are tools that are used for evil today. Does that make the tools evil or the people evil? Well, that's an interesting question, and it's an easy one to answer. It's the people. So whenever you talk about AI or Medicare or your guns, your firearms, or any other topic of conversation, you have to be aware that what you're dealing with is people that are bad. They're out there. They will abuse the system, they will abuse you. That does not make the tool bad. And we need to be aware of that. But that also means, by the way, holding ourselves accountable as well, right? The reality is that that means that tool has the capacity for evil, right? We can use tools. What we can't do is let ourselves become complacent and say, well, it's just a tool, and then we do all sorts of heinous things with that tool and say, well, it's just a tool, it can't be evil. We have to be aware, we have to watch ourselves every day, watch who we're working with, watch who's doing what, and be aware of what's happening because Medicare fraud's out there. People who are using AI to speak to you are out there. Right. I remember I was watching uh a leftist debater a while back, it was very entertaining because these leftist debaters they were using AI behind the scenes during their debate by leaving on the recording feature. So they would have, while their opponent spoke, they would have AI running. They would record what the person was saying, put it in and say, come up with an argument, and they would just basically cite back what AI told them on a a live debate format. And and all my thought was not how evil the tool is, but really my main thought is what's happening to our culture and society if we're not capable of critical thinking on our own? That's that's my biggest concern with AI. It's not even the data centers, it's not even the money or the expenditures. My biggest concern is, hey, are people gonna be capable of critical thinking coming out of this? Because they were already bad enough at it. Now you give them an amped up system that can answer any question at the drop of a dime, and you're gonna find pretty quickly that people are even more so outsourcing their ability to think. And I've learned about that since before AI was a thing, uh since the beginning of my show. Don't outsource your critical thinking to anything or anyone. Don't do that. Don't do that for me. Don't do that for your favorite radios, don't do that for your favorite radios. Favorite podcaster, your favorite social media connoisseur/slash influencer. Certainly don't do that for a computer system. Think through things on your own. That's why that text line gets left open all throughout the show for you guys' text in if you have a disagreement because I want to hear it. I want everyone to be able to think if I'm saying something that's not true or I'm saying something that doesn't make sense, I want people to address it and say, hey, this doesn't make sense. Here's why I disagree with you. And we can have that heart-to-heart conversation here live on air. And I think that's very important if we're going to succeed, is making sure that we're able to critically think through things, is making sure that we're capable of real conversations, of addressing the facts of a situation, of not being driven by the current mainframe mainframe media, by not being held accountable by whoever's in a position of authority, quote unquote. But instead by speaking the truth. By certain and and by the way, speaking the truth requires that we know it. I know that that's an obvious prerequisite, but I think it's one that a lot of people in the public speaking space, from radio to podcasting to social media use, have kind of let go out the window. They forget that the prerequisite to speaking the truth is to know the truth. And so many of these people that you could tune into on a daily basis and listen to, they don't know the truth. They they posture to know it, they want to speak it, but you can't do that if you don't know it. And that requires research, it requires dedication, it requires prayer and reading the word of God. And if you skip those parts and you just try to make up for it because you have a talent at speaking, you're going to fail. You're not going to succeed because people will know, people will be aware. That means that you have to hold those people accountable. You have to choose, and that's why I say all the time how grateful I am to people tuning to the show. Because you're choosing where to spend your time. You're choosing who you trust to listen to. And if you don't agree with everything I say, to a degree, you are granting me a level of credibility by listening. You're saying, hey, I trust this guy enough. Unless you're hate listening to the show, you're like, I hate this guy, and I just want to be angry this morning. I want to start my days off really upset. Unless you're doing that, you're choosing to tune in because you have a level of trust in the things that I'm saying. And that's very important. You can't you can't have a relationship between uh someone who's who's on air and a listener without that level of credibility and trust. And that means a lot. It it's it's more important than I think most people seem to understand because you're influenced by everything you hear. And so when you're choosing, hey, I'm gonna listen to this guy for two hours in the morning. I in fact, I think it's actually even more important where you're choosing to spend your time in the morning. Because in the afternoon, it's not that it doesn't influence you the same or impact you, but you're starting off your day with this. That this is the beginning of your morning. This is how the this is this is setting you up for the rest of the day. And so if you're turning into someone that's not speaking the truth, or that isn't being fair, or that isn't being logical, or that isn't presenting you uh with the gospel, that isn't saying, hey, I know that things are dangerous. Right? Maybe they are speaking the truth, but they're leaving out the very important part, which is we can succeed. They're they're making you start your day off with pessimism. I never want to be that guy. I I don't ever want to do that because I don't believe it. I don't believe in it. I think pessimism is an evil, evil tool. Talk about, you know, no tools are not evil. Pessimism is. Pessimism is evil. Pessimism is not realism. I know that some pessimists try to call themselves realists, but that's not true. They're pessimists. I'm not a pessimist, I'm an optimist at heart. I think the world is going to get better. I think we can fix the issues in front of us. I think it's gonna be an uphill battle. I don't think it's gonna be fun or easy or without sacrifice, but I do believe that it's possible and I believe that God has called us to that mission. And so I'm very grateful for you choosing to turn your tune in here, spend your time here on the show, on the broadcast, listening and hearing the truth and holding me accountable. When I do get things wrong, saying, hey, don't be afraid to text in. Don't be afraid to combat things that I've said. I'm I'm happy to address it. In fact, I think that's one of the things that makes the right different from the left, is not just our ideology and our principles, it's also how we approach controversy and conflict. Cutting China Ties In Higher Education

So Repres Republican U.S. Representative Pat Fallon has introduced legislation that would prohibit federal funding for higher education institutions that partner with the Chinese Communist Party. HR 9123 would, quote, establish intelligence community funding restrictions on institutions of higher education that have a relationship with certain entities in the People's Republic of China. The legislation amends the National Security Act of 1947 to prohibit intelligence community support for any higher education institution that participates in a series of relationships with entities tied to China. Examples of these entities include Confucius Institutes, institutions that participate in the Chinese defense industrial base, institutions that are affiliated with the Chinese State Administration for Science, Technology, and Industry for the National Defense, institutions that receive funding from any organization subordinate to the Central Military Commission of the CCP, institutions that reply that provide security, defense, police, or intelligence organization of the government of the People's Republic of China or the CCP. The legislation also places restrictions on partnerships that undermine America's relationship with Taiwan and on Chinese propaganda efforts against U.S. citizens. Fallon's legislation follows the Protect America's Innovation Economic Security from CCP Act that U.S. Representative Lance Gooden filed last year. Fallon's legislation has been referred to the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where you have U.S. Representative Rick Crawford out of Arkansas as the committee chairman. But what I want to get into is this legislation is a good start. That's I I'm not going to come out against the legislation, but the deeper issue is far deeper. The deeper issue is deeper. What am I even saying? The deeper issue is far more important than simply this legislation, right? Yeah, China is an obvious threat. I think we all recognize that economically, globally, in every reasonable metric, they are threatening to us. The CCP has spent years, we know this, they've been charged for it over and over and over again, trying to gain access to our research, our technology, our universities, our defense knowledge, our institutions. The list goes on and on. Our land, right? They do not think like we think. They do not separate education from national power. They think those things are connected. They don't separate research from military development. They don't separate all of these things are one big pile for them. They look at every single opening in the U.S. as an opportunity to strengthen themselves and, of course, by nature, weaken us. And so when a university wants federal money, intelligence-related money, especially, of defense-related money, or taxpayer-backed research support, it should not be partnering with institutions tied to the Chinese military, to Chinese propaganda, or their intelligence operations, or the CCP in general, right? That should be common sense, but we have to take it further than just the first step common sense approach, right? This can't simply be an anti-China policy, right? It has to be a pro-American policy, an American first policy, right? The problem is not only that China has been invited into our universities. The problem is that our ruling class here in America has spent decades treating our country like a global marketplace instead of treating it like a nation, which it's a nation, not a global marketplace, right? Our factories have moved overseas, our supply chains were moved overseas, our medicine was made more dependent on foreign production capabilities. Our universities started becoming dependent on foreign aid. Our con our corporations got addicted, right, to foreign labor. You know, cheaper labor. Right. So it's it's all sides of the square. Every bit of it. We were taught, right, that global citizenship was more sophisticated than loyalty to your own people and to your own country. And that mindset is hollowed out the culture of our country. We need to bring manufacturing back home. We need to bring critical supply chains back home. We need to bring our educational priorities back here to America. That means federal funding priorities. That means hiring priorities. That means national loyalty. All of those things should move back here. And yeah, that that means asking questions about who gets access to the limited seats in our universities, who gets access to our jobs after graduation, right? Taxpayer supported institutions, especially, should be the first and primary benefit of the American people. American students cannot, and they have been for years, they cannot be pushed to the wayside uh while universities are chasing these foreign students. And that's been happening. American graduates should not be told to take on, frankly, six figures of debt and then compete against imported labor for jobs in their own country. This is our home. And you're making me compete for a job with people who shouldn't actually even be here in the first place, right? American taxpayers should not be funding research pipelines that are training foreign nationals, strengthening other countries' economies, or subsidizing the next generation of our competition while our young people are priced out, shut out, and told, well, it's still America, you should be grateful for what you have. That's that's simply not a good ideological framework to approach this with. And again, that doesn't require, I know that the left wants to paint this as either or. You either support them or you hate them. No, there's actually a third option. I don't support them and I don't hate them. That's actually a very tenable option. The best option, by the way, because a serious nation, an actual nation, puts its own citizens first. It protects its own industry, it protects its own technology, its own students and its own workers. And the reality is that that's why China is playing a very much more serious game than we are. Because China understands uh that education and labor and manufacturing and defense and culture, that all those things are connected. That's how they operate. And that's why you're not finding a bunch of American students at Chinese institutions. You're not finding a bunch of Chinese jobs going to American workers. Not that you'd want them because they don't pay very well, as it turns out. But even if you did, they wouldn't be given to you. You know why? Because China understands what nationalism is. And it's not isolationism, right? It's not saying we never operate in the global marketplace at all, but it's saying that we don't treat our own citizens like they're part of the global marketplace. Like effort is just a commodity in our country. For years, and this isn't even just on the Democrats, by the way. This has been a both party problem. Both parties have helped build this system uh where we funded these institutions and foreign governments, as of course they would, exploited that. Corporations benefited from the cheaper labor, right? Universities benefited from high cost foreign tuition, and ordinary Americans were told this was just the cost of living in a modern first world economy. Well, that's just how it is. Nothing we can do about it. It's not true, by the way. It's a lie. It's a choice, and it's a choice that can and should be reversed. Right? This bill is, of course, aimed at higher education institutions that are tied to Chinese Communist Party linked entities. That's important. It's a good first step. Shouldn't even be a problem. But the the lesson in that is much bigger because no American institution should receive any level of public support at all while serving interests that are hostile to the American people. And by the way, when I use that word hostile, I want to be clear because I don't mean officially hostile governments. When I say hostile, right? I'm not just saying just China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, right? I'm not I'm not just talking about nations that are actively hostile to American ideology and want us wiped off the map. Right. I'm talking about any foreign dependency, any globalist incentive structure. That means foreign labor. That means uh offshore manufacturing, right? That means any of this sort of stuff. Any arrangement where the citizens of America are treated as just one interchangeable population. We're treated like a sports team with a draft. We're like, well, this guy is cheaper and can pitch better, so we're taking him. No, we're not a sports team. I'm sorry. I don't actually think that you should be just trading people around like we're again a global commodity to be replaced. I think that's actually a very evil way to look at a country. I think it's a very backwards way to look at a country. I think it's a way to look at a country that's actually going to get your country destroyed. Because unlike a sports team, if you do that to your country, you wipe out all the things that made your country great. Because this country was not made great because our economy was good, or because our labor was cheap, or because we had manufacturing somewhere else. Our country was great because of the people in it. I know that that's been lost on a lot of the younger generations because they didn't get to grow up with it. But you can this is why I think history is so beautiful, because you can read our history and know. You don't even have to have lived it. You can read about it. You can see what happened, you can see the truth, and you can come to the ultimate conclusion, hey, our country was great because it was built on the backs of great men. It was not great because it was just happened to be, because just magic placed it there. It was the providence of God using great men to achieve great ends. And when you cut out the great men part and you say, well, we're happy to just use foreign labor and cheap foreign markets and accept foreign funding and accept foreign students and all these other things they're doing, it it sets a standard for our country that says, hey, we're not actually a country at all. That's what immigration does. That's what mass immigration does. It says we're not really a country in the first place. And so we have to have a new standard, right? Or really it's an old standard. If a university wants to I I'll take it even a step further than just taxpayer money, if they want to exist in America, it should prove that it serves America, right? If a research institution wants access to any sort of grants at all, it should prove that its partnerships are not empowering any foreign ideology or foreign military or foreign competitor at all. It benefits Americans, right? If a government program wants workforce development, it develops the American workforce. Point blank, period. The end. Right? America's money for America's people. America's schools for America's people, right? Our factories and our jobs and our research for us. The China threat's real. I'm not trying to like walk away from that. And it's right to be targeted. But the bigger fight is against the entire issue of the open border. And I don't just mean the open border in the in the literal sense of illegal immigration, but I mean the open border in the legal sense as well, where we let people in. The open market, the open university ideology that got here in the first place. We cannot lead we cannot we cannot survive as a nation if our leaders are embarrassed to prefer their own people. Again, this gets back into the conversation about partiality. There is good partiality. Preferring American workers over foreign workers is an instance of good moral partiality. Preferring your own people, preferring your own kinsmen, your countrymen, your family. Those things are part of Western culture. They're part of every culture, right? You can look at any other group, they have an in-group and they don't treat immigrants the same. And they don't want immigrants there. And they don't want to change their country because they know that it would. And we're in the West forced to not say that. We're forced to say, well, that that could be in that that could be construed as racist. That could be construed as Islamophobic. That could be construed as bigoted. Well, I I don't care. I really don't. Those terms have gotten us nowhere. They're not gonna, they're not gonna compromise with us. They're gonna take us over. And if we're not willing to say, hey, you know what is actually bad for the country, I actually don't think it's a good idea uh to keep letting this happen. I don't think it's a good idea to allow foreign governments to run our country for us. If we can't say that, if we can acknowledge that because of some foreign loyalty, then there's a real problem going on behind the scenes that we need to address. Now, with that being said, when we get back from the break, we're gonna jump over because the State Board of Education is meeting this week to finalize two major curriculum changes that are gonna be affecting public schools statewide. That is the new reading list and the new social studies standards. We'll talk about what we expect out of that finalization coming this week. Foreign Students, Tuition, And National Priorities

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative. We got a text in kind of going over this college question, and I want to address that question fairly. So I'm gonna probably stave off talking about the SBOE, the State Board of Education's vote until the bottom of the hour, the last segment, because I want to get into this. Sex says when a student in the U.S. goes to college and they are out of state, you know, from a different state than where the college university is located, they pay extra. I think every country should have to pay even more. Now, that sounds great on the surface, but I'll tell you, and thanks by the way for texting in. This is not anti-U, but I want to tell you why I disagree with that perspective, why I think that's actually a very dangerous position to keep as we approach this. So if our standard and again, I'll give you an analogy of cheap labor. Why do you think it is that so many companies are accepting visa workers as as their workforce? Why is that? Because it's not just that they're like, well, we're supporting the global marketplace. No, the reason they do that is because they can find cheaper labor from elsewhere. People who will work for either less pay or even the pay is the same. They'll they'll trick you sometimes. They'll say, hey, we're not paying them less. It's not it's not it doesn't help us. But they'll give them less benefits, right? And so the salary on paper looks the same, but they're still having to charge less in order to create the momentum they have in their company, right? They don't have to charge for the benefits or other things that come with that on top of the salary. And so, regardless of the the reason why, the the the actual big picture view of this is well, they're accepting foreign workers because they can pay them less. And so their justification is that more money for the company means worth it's worth screwing over the American people, it's worth denying the American people jobs. If you apply that to universities, it's telling the opposite, right? It's not cheaper labor, it's more money from students, but it's the same, it's the same reason, right? It it would be like if the instead of being cheaper labor, if the foreign workers made the company more money, which is what they are doing with cheaper labor, so it's the same principle just in the in the reverse. When you say, hey, we're willing to accept students from other countries as long as they charge more money, we are justifying messing with taking away slots from American students because we can make more money elsewhere. That is that is greed at the highest level. It's hey, if we can make more money, it's worth not giving our jobs, not giving our admission slots in universities, not get whatever the benefit is, not saving those for the American people, but instead giving them away to foreign people. That's not good. And and and whether that's being done with cheap labor or with higher cost of tuition doesn't change the actual argument at all. If you said that every Chinese student had to pay quadruple what an in-state student had to pay to attend a university, uh you still wouldn't move the needle a a a modicum on my opinion on this. Because money is not the primary concern. We're a first world nation. Money should not be our number one consideration in anything anymore. If we were an impoverished nation that needed foreign funding, that would be we're not. We're the ones giving out the foreign funding. We have plenty of money. The bigger issue is not our money, it is our spending. Okay, that that's what we need to address, not not where we're getting our money from. When you justify taking away slots, whether that's in the workforce or in the universities, and giving them out to any foreigner on the basis of, well, it's more affordable or it makes us more money, then you're you're ultimately saying that we're the same as a sports team. It's the same argument. You re you you you have to acknowledge, hey, the American people aren't worth four times the money. And I don't acknowledge that. I think the American workforce is worth any times the money to make it American. I I think that it's worth saying, hey, if the Chinese government were to sponsor a million students to come to universities, if they filled them with Chinese students to get all of our research and influence on universities and they're willing to pay trillions of dollars to do it, it's uh even if they paid enough to pay off the national debt, it still wouldn't be worth it. Because our primary concern cannot and should not be financial. We cannot justify doing evil things to our own people because it makes us money. We cannot justify cheaper labor or higher tuition costs or whatever the argument is for any particular scenario, it changes based on what it actually is. But we can't allow the the actual argument to result in the in a in a result, right? To result in saying, hey, we are okay with giving away jobs and university slots and whatever else to foreign people because they'll save us money or make us money. That's not a good argument, and I think it results ultimately in saying that our people are only worth as much as we can throw them. And I believe the American people are worth whatever the money is. I think that it's worth it to say, hey, we believe in our country, we believe in our people, we believe in in our problem-solving abilities, in our own success. And even if it would save us a few dollars or make us a few dollars, it's not worth throwing away our own country. It's not worth throwing away our own national identity on the backs of, well, we made more money. Uh thanks for the text in. Feel free to text in if you disagree. Texas SBOE Reading List And Standards

In its meeting this week, the State Board of Education is going to be considering last-minute changes before finally voting on a required list of literary works for students as well as revised social studies standards. As nearly half of Texas students do not read at grade level, the State Board of Education has had to consider a new required reading list mandated by House Bill 1605. The new list of books will support growing literacy and academic development, knowledge of the world, and moral formation. English education should promote literacy and literary understanding, but as art has the power to shape our hearts. The proposed list has students begin with books as The Cat in the Hat, Nursery Rhymes, Learning, and a Phonics-based program. As they go, they're going to explore Charlotte's Webb, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Across Five Aprils, A Wrinkle in Time, Ender's Game, and works like Animal Farm, Frankenstein, and The Odyssey in high school. The list also includes books about American heroes, Bible passages, and other stories that McCormick says are vital for the formation of mature, virtuous adults. Man, don't you just love it when they use wording that you just I know that even if it means the same thing, words have power and meaning. And when someone in a position of authority, educating students and choosing curriculum, uses the word virtuous, it just warms my heart to hear that. It just warms my heart so much to hear that we want to create virtue. I know we all want that, uh, but how often do you hear someone in a position of authority? This is one thing that I liked about Trump a lot, was how he wouldn't mince words and he would say, no, we actually don't want this or we do want that. We want virtuous adults to be coming out of these programs. I mean, it's just beautiful. Now, of course, critics are saying that the bless doesn't include enough diversity. Um, you have Tiffany Clark, a Democrat during a meeting back in January, says, for so many years, students of color have had to endure a European-centered philosophy, history, that representation of their own history. Well, you know what? Go back into your country then and read your history. You're going to our country, which is a European country. It is a Western culture and civilization where we teach Western culture and civilization, and then you say there's not enough non-Western culture study. Yeah. You know where you'd learn that in the non-Western country. If you want to learn, not only that, but if you want if you actually like if it's a desire to learn it and it's not forced, those things are actually at our libraries. Like if you want to study them, you actually have access to those books. You can read them yourself and learn them yourself. The required reading list is not the the you're not allowed to read anything else list. If you want your students to learn something else, hey, feel free as a parent to go get them the book from the library and make them read it. You're allowed to do that. I know that's confusing. I know you didn't know that you're actually your children's parent, that you can make that determination, right? I will say on the literary formation stuff, for years the main problem with our schools has been not enough reading. I I always say, people have asked me, Michael, how do you read so fast? And how do you how do you how do you read it out loud so fast? I had a guy ask me that one time. I'm I'm reading and he's watching, following my reading. He's like, how in the world are you how are you reading it like that? The only credit I give is that I was forced to read a lot. And I mean a lot from a very young age. I I I I I was reading books hours a day at eight, nine years old. That was a require a stipulation of my education. So we want to fix these things. It's just gonna require greater education. That's that's the main overarching point. And it's gonna require more Bible. That that's that cannot be ignored. And I'm glad to see that our goal is pursuing creation of virtuous adults.
