Airport Ablution Stations And Texas Pushback

A government-owned airport installs an ablution station and a prayer room stocked with faith-specific items, and suddenly Texas is forced to answer a question we keep dodging: is “religious neutrality” actually possible, or does it just reward the loudest demands? We walk through Gov Greg Abbott’s order to review state airport grants and his request for federal investigation tied to DFW and IAH, then we unpack the argument Houston’s mayor uses to defend the facilities and why that defense doesn’t settle the bigger fight. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative right here on Patriot Talk 920. Very good to be with you this fine Tuesday morning. And by the way, we're going to have a couple of exciting guests coming on in the second hour of the show. This first hour will be reserved for just you and I. We'll we'll be hanging out. The second hour, we're going to have on some exciting guests. At the top of the second hour, we're going to have Patrick Von Dolan. He is the Republican candidate for Bear County Judge. We're going to get him on. It'll be a good time. I don't know about the state of affairs over in Bear County, so you guys can kind of compare and contrast what we have going on here in Harris County. And then we're also going to have a very exciting guest coming on to tell us about the Livingston Gun Show this weekend. Marilyn will be coming on and talking all about it. Something that you guys, by the way, will not want to miss. Talk about both of those things with our special guests in the next hour. In the meantime, we do have a lot to get into. We do have a lot of things we need to talk about. One of the big ones. If you tuned in, what was that yesterday? No, no. That could have that must have been Friday. I think it was Friday. That I had it ended up turning into like a 20 or 30 minute speech. I certainly didn't intend it to, but there are certain topics that if you get me going on, I will just kind of talk. And really I can talk about anything. But there are certain topics that I will I'll have a hard time shutting myself up. That if if I I would put it like this. Obviously, I can talk when I'm on a microphone, I'm on the radio, and it's my job. And also there's no one else here to be talking, so I'm not like stealing the spotlight from anybody. When I'm in a group setting, it goes very differently. I I don't want to be the only talker, even necessarily the most talkative person. I the I want everyone to have an opportunity to speak, to speak their mind, say what they think, hear from everybody else. I like to listen. But there are certain topics that even in a group setting, I want to talk about.

Islam And The “Radical” Label

Things like Islam are certainly on that list. Because the the modern American view of Islam and of Muslims is so backwards because people are so scared of being offensive that they don't they don't even want to think about your average Muslim, right? Because it's easy to just use the word radical. You if you just attach that, you don't have to worry about it. You don't have to, you know, it's not offensive if you say radical, because everybody knows there's radical Muslims and they do crazy things. And you can stay away from the religious liberty argument and you don't have to get intertwined with Christian nationalism, and you can just kind of be normal, right? You don't have to worry about any of those things. You don't have to be that political to say, yeah, the radical terrorist Muslims, those guys are bad. Um, but everybody else is fine. And you can just set your weapons down. And that can be your sentiment, and you don't have to worry about it. Uh, but that's what a lot of people do, and that's not what I do. And I think that that's a really dangerous thing to do, to the point where if I hear somebody saying that, I feel almost this this inner need to speak. I I start feeling this passion, I guess you'll call it, this rising, I don't want to say anger, because I'm not angry at someone who believes that. I'm frustrated because I think it's a cop out. I think they I think they most people probably know that it's a cop out. Um I I have friends, dear friends, by the way, uh, who who hold to that position. And, you know, they'll say, Michael, you're just crazy on this. And I'll explain why I think the way I do, and they'll kind of laugh it off, and they'll say, No, no, I have Muslim friends, and I'll say, Yeah, just wait. Just wait till those Muslims have to choose between their religion and their friends. Just wait to see what they do. What they really want is for you to become Muslim with them, and then they don't have to choose. But if you don't, just wait. Find out. Regardless of any of that, the reason I bring that up is to mention that on Friday I went on. I don't want to call it a tangent because it was applicable. It wasn't it wasn't like I was out there speaking about random nonsense we didn't need to talk about. It was a story. Uh, we were speaking about the influence of Muslim on our airport of Islam on our airports and how we were having these foot washing stations. Don't even get me going on that. You guys know how I feel about people washing their feet in a public bathroom. Not I don't feel good about it. Let's just you can go back. If you go back and you listen to the podcast episode from last Friday, it'll come, it'll have come out on uh uh last Friday. If you want to hear a 20-minute, I don't want to say a speech, but if you want to hear a monologue on somebody that doesn't like the concept even of someone washing their feet in a public bathroom, just go listen to Friday's show. Realistically, we may have to say it again today. I I may go on another monologue today because we have a couple of different stories about this particular topic. The monologue may be different. Friday, I was up in arms. Today, I I don't know. I don't know. I guess we'll see how I'm feeling when we get in these stories. I'm not, as I've often highlighted out on radio, none of this is scripted, right? The stories are, in a sense, because of course I'm I'm pulling articles and I'm reading through what we're talking about. The stories themselves are to a degree scripted because they're stories of what happened. So the factual elements are already scripted out. But any commentary that I ever give, a lot of it is pre-thought. I automatically have thoughts when I'm doing the research in the first place. But much of what I what I say, probably like 80 to 90 percent of it, is completely made up on the spot. It's ad lib. So I even I don't necessarily know what direction we're gonna go yet. Even I, the guy hosting the show, is not sure. When I read through it again, right, I may decide to go on a monologue about how bad washing your feet in a public

Abbott Orders Airport Grant Review

bathroom are. Regardless of that, we have a couple of updates regarding what's going on. And by the way, this isn't just at DFW, because that was the original presentation, right? When we when we first reported on this, I I just didn't look into IH. I should have, but I didn't. And I knew it was happening at DFW, and there's this big conversation about it. Uh, but Abbott has now ordered a grant review and federal investigation of multiple Texas airports over the the claims, right, which is of these footwashing facilities in public bathrooms. Uh, but referring, I guess, the argument that you have to make legally is that it's religious discrimination. And so uh and again, this is a review for all state grant funding for Texas airport operators and referred DFW and and George Bush Intercontinental Airport to federal officials over allegations of illegal religious discrimination, which came, of course, after reports originally dropped that DFW Airport plan to install Muslim buttwashing stations in two of their public bathrooms. Abbott's directive calls for an examination of active and future state grant funds to entities that operate airports in Texas, including DFW and IAH. The review could result in revocation of existing grant funds, grants they've already gotten, or denial and or denial of future awards if an airport operator is determined to have violated anti-discrimination laws. The governor also asked the U.S. Department of Transportation and the FAA, the Federal Aviation Administration, to investigate religious facilities at DFW and IAH for possible discrimination and to take appropriate corrective action if necessary. After the new Muslim abolition station was canceled amid significant public backlash, many online drew attention to the already existing stations that are present at DFW and IAH, saying, Hey, yeah, so they were gonna make new ones, and it got a lot of backlash, so they've kind of paused on that, but they already have some. So it's bad that they're trying to get more, but it's not good that they already have them. They should be taken away. And so these stations are used for Islamic ritual purification, or what's called in their language, I'm not making this up. It's called wudu. W-U-D-U. Woodoo. In the IAH ablution stations, quote, passengers will find copies of the Quran, prayer rugs, prayer beads, and a turbo, which is a prayer stone used by some during prayer. In a letter to DFW Airport CEO Christian McLaughlin, Abbott said, quote, these ablution stations appear to single out one subset of the population for special treatment based on religion. He said he was unaware of DFW or IAH installing standalone facilities to meet the particular needs of the many other religious groups represented across Texas. He said this is illegal. Both airports are government-owned facilities. Both the federal and state constitutions prohibit government from facilitating this sort of discrimination. My office is actively reviewing all grants to any local governmental entities involved in these schemes for possible revocation of past grant money and cancellation of any future funds that have been dedicated by my office. He noted that because the airports receive federal funds, they're required to comply with all applicable laws prohibiting discrimination and protecting the equal rights of all Americans as enforced through the Federal Aviation Administration's airport compliance program. He uh in his letter, he said, accordingly, this letter serves to notify you that any development, provision, or continued operation of such exclusionary religious spaces in government-owned facilities violates state and federal law, and in terms of any grant agreements between the state of Texas and your organizations, engaging in these discriminatory practices will subject any organizations found to be in violation to the withdrawal of grant funding and other enforcement actions. The mayors of Dallas, Houston, and Fort Worth were also notified of the letters by Abbott, as well as a U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanch. He said government-owned airports cannot favor one religion over all others. Texas will not allow illegal religious discrimination at taxpayer-funded facilities.

Christianity And Government Neutrality Debate

Now, because Christians are not generally ritualistic, right? We have what you could call them rituals, right? We do, right? When you take communion at church, right, we we have certain things that we do that I guess if you were a non-Christian, you'd look and say that that seems a little ritualistic. But for the most part, in our daily lives, the things we do are not rituals, right? We don't, we don't have uh, if you were to look at the ceremonial law of the Old Testament, for instance, you'd find, you know, there are things that are much more ritualistic than what we do today, right? Things like sacrifices. Well, we don't need that because we had the ultimate sacrifice. We had the Lamb of God who was slain for the sins of the world. We know that. And so we don't have a lot of those rituals that maybe a lot a lot of other religions still retain. And so it would be, it would be difficult to use Christianity as an example because we don't need any sort of station at an airport. Right? We can we don't have to have a prayer rug or a turba or a voodoo. We don't have to have any of these things. Our prayer, you don't even have to do, you don't even have to close your eyes. You don't, these aren't requirements. You don't have to fold your hands. We do that because it's cultural, it makes sense, it's helpful. But none of these things are requirements. You can pray at an airport uh from the lounge or from your seat or while you're walking onto the plane or while you're sitting on the plane, and no one even has to know. You can you can pray silently, you can pray out loud. So there's so many different ways that we don't need any sort of station. And so it'd be difficult to have some sort of Christian religiously discriminatory area for Christians. But the reason why I don't love the argument, and it doesn't mean that it's bad, and it doesn't mean that I'm not, I don't appreciate the effort put in. But the issue I have with arguments like this are that airports, right, even if they're governmental entities, should certainly be able to have Christian stations, Christian areas. I I have zero qualms about that being true. I think it is a gross misinterpretation of all of our documents to assume that you can't have Christian spaces in government facilities, that you can't have a chapel, for instance, dedicated to Christianity, right? Because a lot of our chapels, we've had to do this where we say, well, this is a religious facility. It's not a Christian one. Uh anyone can come in the chapel. You know, we're not discriminating if you want to, if you're a Muslim or a Christian, uh, or or I mean, you could list a if you're a Hindu or a Buddhist or a Jew, whatever you are, you can all worship freely here. I don't think you have to say all of that. I think it's totally acceptable for the government to say, no, this is a Christian nation. Texas is an inherently Christian state, and we have a Christian chapel. Now we're not preventing you from entering if you're not a Christian. We don't, again, we're not ritualistic in that sense. We're not discriminatory in that sense. If you're an unbeliever and you want to go in the chapel in an airport, I don't think anyone's stopping you. I don't think we're gonna have some sort of Christian security that is questioning do you do you support the Nicene Creed? Do you support the Apostles' Creed before you walk in? That's not happening. And so that's not even a minor concern. My issue with the argument is that I think as a Christian state, in a Christian nation, we should be able to say the issue is not ultimately religious discrimination. All right, that that that it sort of boils down to that because of the way that we've interpreted everything. That's not really the main driving problem. The main driving problem of all of this is that we're giving special treatment to a religion that is not of this country and that is ideologically not aligned with us. That's the problem. The problem is not that we're favoring one religion over another, because you are inevitably going to do that by nature of existence, right? And that that doesn't mean that you're going to choose Islam, right? Maybe you'll choose atheism or deism or agnosticism, whatever it is that you end up going with. But if you if you reject any sort of religious discrimination at all, you are inherently choosing. I've highlighted this before, tolerance itself is ultimately intolerance. That's that's what happens. If you oppose any religious discrimination at all, you are supporting your own form of religious discrimination. That's that's inevitably going to happen. Even Karl Marx wrote about this in his long treatise on tolerance and how tolerance must be intolerant at times, especially in regards to Christianity. And so I think we're being so cautious of these misinterpretations of our documents that we're sitting around saying, well, the reason this is bad is because it discriminates against other religions. No, the reason that this is bad is because you're allowing Islam a foothold in the nation. That's the problem. The problem is not religion per se, the problem is Islam. And again, it's the same thing over and over and over again. Our politicians and our public speakers and our podcasters, they seem afraid of being willing to say this. And I get it, right? They don't want to come out and appear like they're some sort of crazy, you know, far-right dictatorial regime that desires trip people of their so-called First Amendment rights. I do understand that. But I also think the time has come and has gone for this sort of nice sort this this niceness in policy that says, well, the issue is not really Islam. No, it is. That actually is the issue. I I'm not afraid to say that. Really, the issue isn't just Islam, and it's not religion. The issue is anti-Christianism. And that can apply in the form of atheism, or in the form of Hinduism, or in the form of Buddhism, or in the form of Islam, or in the form of Judaism. Like you can list over and over and over all of the world's religions, Satanism, you can go through the list. All of them are exclusionary in nature. And in America, we have one that is, to a degree, exclusionary, that is Christianity. And it's it seems like our politicians are so hell-bent on being this sort of neutral state that never makes their own claims that we we can't say, well, the issue's actually Muslims, right? That's the problem. No, no, no. The issue is just like religious discrimination of any sort. No, actually, I'm okay with an airport having a a setup of the nativity. I'm totally fine with that. I'm not okay with them having uh a setup of these other holidays in in their areas. I I would not want to see any Hindu celebrations, Diwali. I don't want a Diwali setup at my local airport. I I do want a nativity. And so the issue again is not religious exclusion. The issue is what religion are we ultimately going to support and which ones are we not? And if your answer to that is, well, we support all of them, then I can tell you right now we're going to lose. If if that's the answer, we are inevitably going to lose. Because that's not a position that you can reliably take that that precedes any sort of good outcome. It just won't. The whole tolerant argument has has failed over and over and over again. Because you must adhere to some degree of truth. And if you're unwilling to come out and say what that truth is for fear of some sort of violation, then we're going to lose. We cannot be afraid of the backlash and say, well, we're not going to speak the whole truth because to do that would be that people would be very upset with the things that we say. People will be very frustrated with the things that we say and the things that we believe. We we can't come out and say that the issue is Islam. We can't say that. Because then we're religiously excluding people. Yes. Absolutely we are. We are a nation made up of a specific religion, and therefore, in certain things, we're going to by nature exclude other people. Yes, that is true. The founders believed that. They believed that at the federal level, they believed that certainly at the state level, and it's not even close. If you look at the evidence from the states at the time of the ratification of the Constitution, it's not even debatable how much they believe that at the state level. Even the non-Christians believe that at the state level, states should be Christian and have Christian policy. And so it seems like it's the same cop-out I was mentioning before, that it's very easy to try to approach these things, and maybe it's just politically strategic at the moment. I don't know. What I can tell you is if our ultimate goal is this sort of tolerant behavior, we say, well, no, the issue isn't Islam and it isn't Hinduism and it isn't Buddhism, and it isn't, and we start listing them. And that those aren't the issue. Really, the issue is any sort of religious exclusion, then we end up excluding ourselves and our history and our heritage and our future inheritance. We reject God fundamentally and say, well, we can't we can't promote that because to do that would be religiously exclusive. And that is a dangerous position to put ourselves in. It's one that we've already put ourselves in and we need to be digging out of. We need to be fighting tooth and nail to get away from that horrendous policy decision that got us to this point. And instead, we're using the same liberal neutral argumentation that the left used a long time ago to try to justify what we're doing. We don't need to do that. How about instead we just say what we what we're all thinking, what we all know the truth is, which is that no, in America, we don't have Muslim footwashing stations because we are not Muslim here. This is not a Muslim country. This is not yours to overtake, this is not yours to have footwashing stations or public bathrooms. It's not for you. It's for Christians. We have a chapel for Christians. We have nativity scenes and Christmas trees because those are those are Christian statements. Those are Christmas, those are Christian decorations. It is an admission that we are a Christian nation. And you don't have to like that. You don't have to appreciate it. But that is inevitably what we are. And if we're not that, then what are we? If we reject that and we say, no, no, no, that would also be religiously exclusive. We're not going to go there, then someone tell me, then what is our country predicated on? What is our legal system based on? Because I understood it as all being based on the Bible and on the word of God. I understood it as being rooted in historical Christianity. Western civilization generally, by the way, is rooted in historic Christianity. If we're not rooted in those things, I would love for someone to walk me through then. What are we rooted in? It's certainly not neutrality. You look at our founding and you read about their statements regarding uh providence and their statements regarding, I mean, basically anything. And it was all so clearly Christian. It was so clearly rooted in Christianity, in Christian ethics, and in Christian beliefs, that it's not even it's not even close. And if we have a fear of stating that truth and saying the country was better when we had those things where neutrality was not our highest goal, tolerance was not our highest goal, that is a modern, gross misinterpretation of all of our documents and all of our nation's beliefs and all of our nation's history, then again, we're not gonna get anywhere. We're gonna feel like we got somewhere because, well, at least we we shut down the foot washing stations, and then someone's gonna try to put up a Christmas tree, and I tell you what's gonna happen it's gonna go to court. If what Abbott's doing here is ultimately rooted in religious discrimination, then if we ever have any sort of nativity scene at all, either the courts are going to rule that no, nope, nope, nope. You said this is a policy you made, you said that that sort of stuff is discriminatory, or they're gonna say we also need to have Muslim decorations and Hindu decorations and just. Jewish decorations and everything else, that's where everything is going to go. And I don't want that. I want our country to be able to put up Christmas trees and be able to put up nativity sets and say, get over it. This is a Christian place. If you don't like it, go back to your Muslim country and do your stuff there. They have plenty of prayer rugs, I'm sure, in in where whatever country you hail from. Go back there. Because this is not your home. It's ours. It is a home for Christians. And we're not going to say it's not some convert or leave sort of situation. But we're not going to have these sort of publicly funded worship spots for your religion because this is not the religion of our home or of our forefathers or of our country. Now I went on a little bit of a monologue there because I was supposed to, in this segment, get into because we've already had some responses. Um, but in the next segment, I'll I'll mention one of them. Whitmeyer, the mayor of Houston, John Whitmeyer, has responded to that letter uh with with well, I'm not gonna tease it too much. Just know that Mayor Whitmeyer has responded to the claims laid out by Governor Abbott. He's had some things to say about these Muslim footwashing stations, particularly, of course, at IEH, given that this is Houston. Houston Mayor Defends Airport Facilities

And his argument is actually dumber than uh than Abbott's. I mean, these people are just a bunch of illogical freaks. Um, he said that public footwashing stations are not discriminatory. Uh, he said that they they serve inside restrooms for the airport's international terminals serve as a practical need for travelers. Um, and and I'm gonna quote him on this. This is wild. The abolition room and adjoining prayer room are open to all travelers, employees, and stakeholders with access to terminal D, regardless of faith. Nobody receives preferential access, and no one is excluded. Well, okay, that's that's can I be honest, that is a retarded argument. I really I I don't like the whole religiously neutral thing, as I just explained. I think that it makes no sense, just logically. But instead of addressing that and saying, well, there's lots of things that are exclusionary, that doesn't mean that they're bad. That would be a neat argument to take and to say, well, we don't mind having also what do you want for Christianity? And and and he could go that route, and I think that would be far more open-ended. Instead, he took the dumbest response imaginable. Well, anyone can go in there. Well, that wasn't the question. The question was not if it was exclusionary in physical practice, right? Is it exclusion? That's not what we're making the argument of. Of course it's not. You're not banning non-Muslims from the room. Okay, that's great to hear. That wasn't the primary concern. The primary concern was if you were giving special treatment to Muslims. So tell me, uh, what other religion is going to use prayer Qurans and prayer rugs and and turbos and voodoos and and these footwashing saying who else is gonna use those that aren't Muslims? Well, nobody. Nobody else is going to use them. They are Muslim in practice. So, sure, preferentially speaking, no one gets rejected from entering. You don't have an airport policy that says you have to be a Muslim to go in there, but that's not the question. If we build a mosque, right, and you and you you build it, say it's a government-built mosque for whatever reason, as a hypothetical example, and you say, Hey, in this mosque, you can enter anywhere you want, and you don't have to be a Muslim to do that, right? That would usually violate the rules of the mosque, but it's a government mosque. So you say, You can enter anywhere you want. We still wouldn't have a problem claiming, truthfully, that that is a Muslim place, that that is a Muslim area, that is a Muslim facility built for Muslims. And it is exclusionary in nature by the thing at which it is. It's the same argument of epic city, right? Well, this isn't exclusionary to non-Muslims. Well, sure. Uh, except for the fact that you know that your dues and your payments and all these things are going to fund mosques and Muslim schools and they're gonna be surrounded by Muslims. Of course, no one but a Muslim is going to choose to live there in nature, even if it's not physically required that you be a Muslim in order to live there, right? It's the same thing. We're not claiming that it's exclusionary because we think people are being kicked out if they're not Muslim. It's exclusionary because no one but Muslims are going to go in there in the first place. You're building an area of the airport dedicated to Islam. It is an Islam altar that you're building. And that is exclusionary in nature. And so Whitmeyer's statement also notes that roughly one-fifth of all passengers in the airport's international airport terminal departed on Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines, airlines that serve Muslim majority countries. Abolition facilities are preferable to having residents resort to using sinks. I I I can't believe they brought this back up again. He said that it was preferable to have these stations to having travelers use the sinks to wash their feet. When did our country become so unbelievably weak? Does anyone know? Like, like, could someone point to a day where you're like, this is when it all went wrong? And I know, I get it. It took it took decades, it took generations to ultimately produce where we are today. It wasn't a single decision or a single day that drove us here. But I mean, come on. At some point, we we we have to acknowledge that obviously we are incredibly weak. You're telling me that your main argument appears to be that the reason that this is necessary is because it it is not physically exclusive, right? You don't have to be Muslim to enter, and that that's your base for keeping it. But your reason for needing it is because it is preferable to Muslims washing their feet in our public sinks. How about instead you be a man and you say you're not allowed to do that? You're actually not allowed to use the sinks to wash your feet. We didn't need that policy before, but you're letting Muslims travel here all willy-nilly, so now you need it. How about we make a policy and say you're not allowed to wash your feet in a public sink in the state of Texas. In any Texas airport. Yeah, would that upset a lot of people? Sure it would. I don't really care. I'm I'm these are not the people that I serve to please. I serve to please and glorify God. And we're allowed to have policy that says you can't put your feet in a public sink. Reason number one, it's disgusting. Reason number two, it's disgusting. That's that's all the reason that I need is it's disgusting, and we are a first world nation, the premier nation of the world, and we say no feet in sinks. It'd be that simple. And if you decide to do it anyways, we can ban you from flying into our airports. You are on a no-fly list. You're not allowed to come here because we gave you rules and you didn't follow them. You are not allowed to wash your feet in our sinks. But instead, you go the route of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to build these stations where these Muslims can come in and wash their feet instead of just saying, Don't do that. We we we have to build a dedicated Muslim area because we apparently don't have the authority in our own country to say, don't put your feet in our sink. That's how far the mighty have fallen. That's how far we've gone. And so i i i it's just absolutely insane. It it is it is gross, it is perverted, and I'm so fed up with the argument relying on America being weak in order to justify what we're doing. Well, the reason that we built those stations wasn't really because we care about Islam. It wasn't really because we care. It was because we don't want their feet in our sinks. Yeah, well, why did you just make a rule no feet in the sink? Why did you go and you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars building a dedicated station for Muslims instead of saying, no feet in the sink? Well, because we're weak. Because we're afraid, because we don't have the courage to stand up and say, hey, that's not cool. This is not your country, this is not your home, it's ours. And if you enter my house, right? If you go in someone's house, right, there are a lot of people that have the whole take your shoes off when you get entered the door, I don't have a problem with that. We don't do that in our house. I mean, I usually do take my shoes off, wear socks around. But like, if someone comes into my house, I don't ask them to take their shoes off. But there are people that do. And if I enter someone's house and they ask me to take their shoes my shoes off, do you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to take my shoes off. You know why? Because that's respectful and polite and it's the right thing to do because it's their house, not mine. You have your rules. Right? Did your parents ever tell you you eat the food they give you? Right? You don't sit around complaining when you go to someone else's house and they make food you don't like, you eat it anyway, because that's the kind, respectful thing to do. As long as it's nice, it's the right thing to do. In similar fashion, you are in our home. These airports are ours, not yours. And when you come here, you respect our rules. If we take your shoes off, you take your shoes off. If we say, Don't stick your nasty, dirty airport laden feet in our sink, you don't put your dirty, nasty airport-laden feet in our sink. It should be that simple. But that's not very nice. We can't tell them not to do the thing their religion calls them to do. Then don't come here. If if that is so if it is so exclusive to you that you can't come here, if you can't stick your feet in our sink, then this is not the place for you to be. Feel free to go back home. It really is that simple. And I'm I'm really tired of having to pretend like it's not. We when you go to somebody else's home, right, it's the same thing. You apply their rules. Right. And obviously, if their rules violate your religion, then that's a different conversation, right? You wouldn't do that. And if that means that you have to leave their house, then you have to leave their house. Whatever the case may be. But in a lot of these cases, that's not what's happening here. In other countries, there is a level of respect you have for their culture that you don't do things that you might regularly do in America because it's offensive, right? If you go to a place that they say, hey, clapping is a sign of disrespect. It should be total silence. There are places like that. Then it would be rude to clap. Why would you? That's a cultural thing that doesn't matter that much. If you go to someone else's house and they tell you don't put your feet in the sink, I I just I don't fathom any of this. But thank you for the text, and I appreciate it. You're you're exactly spot on. This is a Christian nation, and we need to stop acting like we're this religiously neutral zone where you can do whatever you want, whatever you want, with whomever you want. It's gross and it's wrong.

Houston-Led Cocaine Seizure Operation

Now, online security investigations, Houston and Mexican authorities seized more than 6,000 kilograms of cocaine and arrested 19 suspected drug traffickers during three maritime operations off the coast of Chiapas, Mexico. HSI said the seizures totaled 6,080 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $120 million. The operations were conducted by HSI Houston, HSI Mexico City, and Mexico's Secretaria de Marina as part of a Homeland Security Task Force initiative. The three operations took place in July. Of course, this is just now coming out now, middle to end of July. When HSI Houston's special agent in charge, Lucia Cabriel de Armas, said, by working alongside our international partners through this initiative, we prevented more than six tons of deadly narcotics from being smuggled into the U.S. or Mexico. He said the agency will continue working with domestic and international partners to disrupt smuggling routes and target drug trafficking organizations and other transnational criminal networks. The task force has resulted total in 291 arrests and the seizure of approximately 118,000 kilograms of cocaine to date. Authorities have also seized three million dollars in currency, 47 firearms, 51 vessels, six vehicles, several thousand gallons of fuel, and an airplane as part of the initiative. But these are all things that are trying to come into our country. And if you think that those things are not accompanied by a level of danger, you're dead wrong. Those things all come with danger attached to them. The drug trafficking, the smuggling, all of those shit is dangerous. And, you know, you have to be able to protect your family. And that means if it should ever come to it, you need to be a member of our sponsor, Gun Owners of America. Heat Forecast And Warm Nights

Will remain over Southeast Texas through at least the middle of the week, limiting cloud cover and shutting down most opportunities for rain. An additional pocket of relatively dry air arriving tomorrow and Thursday should make showers even harder to come by. That combination will allow afternoon temperatures to inch even higher. Areas along and north of I-10 will have the best chance of reaching 100 degrees early in the week, with some locations eventually topping out around 101. By the middle of the week, more numerous 100 degree highs are expected to reach southeast Texas. Now, afternoon humidity will ease somewhat as dew points fall into the upper 60s and low 70s, which of course could help keep the fuels-like temperatures. It might feel like it's not as hot as it is. Even so, 100 degree heat is very hot. Even without all the added humidity, which of course would make it worse, it's still, of course, tremendously hot. You need to be aware of that. Even after sunset, where you usually have the kind of opportunity to kind of cool off overnight, your house, your stuff, you, uh, that will not be a great opportunity. After yesterday morning started in the low and mid-70s, lows for the rest of the week are extended to hover around 80 degrees, leaving homes, pavement, and of course, people with very little time to shed the shed the heat. So be aware of that as well. Triple digit heat records, um, we will we will be coming after those. Again, Houston afternoon records this week, we're not we're not gonna have new records, is what I'm trying to get at. Every daily record high through August 23rd, starting today, exceeds 105 degrees, meaning that our, you know, even high-end chances of 100 or 101 degrees are nowhere near record levels. However, the better chance, if we're gonna take on a record of heat is overnight. Daily records for Houston's warmest temperatures are between 81 and 83 degrees, with forecasted lows for really hovering near 80 degrees. Now, Houston could come close to tying or breaking one of those records given we're only between one and three degrees away if it failed to fall as much as expected before sunrise. And again, warm nights also increase the cumulative stress of a prolonged heat spell. For most of Houston, the forecast stays stubbornly dry through much of the work week. A few more opportunities for thunderstorms may emerge late in the week, though again, we don't expect any sort of widespread rain. The ridge overduction is actually just shift west, opening the door to northwest flow higher in the atmosphere. So hopefully, even though the front coming from the Mississippi Valley won't reach us, thunderstorms could push into our area late this week and over the weekend. Um, rain will be hit or missed. Again, that means random stuff. But we'll make that from the biggest we're gonna have a very exciting guest coming on from Bear County. Talk about Bear County Judge and more when we get back. Yeah, absolutely. And I'm very excited to get into some of this because obviously we talk a lot about Harris County, but we hear all the time in the news of stuff going on, of course, up in DFW, over in Bear County, Travis County. We have a lot of issues all across the state. And so for this first little bit, I just want to ask, what are some of the biggest things that you're seeing going on, problematically at least, over in Bear County right now?

Well, much like Houston is crime. And while the current statistics show that there's a a change in crime statistics, that there's less crime, there's actually not because fewer people are or or I should say more people are not reporting crimes because they feel like there's not being a response to it in many cases. But crime is is uh terrible. We have a jail crisis in in Bear County where we've had over 91 people die since 2020 in our in custody. Uh we've got a fiscal cliff in Bear County. As a matter of fact, uh we have $3.7 billion in debt, which is higher per capita than Harris County. And we're at $1,732 per resident in debt. And so being the largest uh one of the larger counties in in Texas, like half is half as uh the size of Harris County, we have a huge amount of debt and larger per capita than Harris County. So we have massive problems going on. And then um one of the things we're facing is a budgetary crisis as well, not just debt, but uh a fiscal cliff coming in 2028. And misuse of the ARPA money, the American Rescue Plan Act money that was used for permanent obligations instead of the temporary relief that was offered during the COVID time. And so most of our issues are financial related, and we have a situation where the government continues to spend money on non-essential services. And so that's really what brought about the desire to run. I'm a financial planner by 28 years plus, and we need somebody who knows numbers, not somebody who's just a professional politician.

Right. And on the crime thing specifically, I did a deep dive into that because I I kept hearing that claim from the FBI, the Bureau of Statistics. I kept hearing, yeah, crime is going down, it's getting so much better. And when I dug into the numbers, not only did I find what you said, which is that it seems like less people are reporting crimes for a variety of reasons, mind you. But I also found uh that in a lot of these places that were big, big areas of crime, a lot of those places had SORO-funded DAs put in, and the DAs have gone through other sort of divergent programs that don't end up charging people with crimes, the result has been that people who obviously committed crimes are not being officially convicted of those crimes because of these programs. And so even though the conviction rate show is significantly lower, but that's just because they fudge the numbers to make it look better in a lot of these cases. And so crime, despite the fact that the statistics would say is it's going down, anecdotally, just looking around, I mean, I'm sure Bear County is pretty similar, but when we're here in Harris County, you get into Houston, you look around, you're like, yeah, crime is not going down. I'm looking, no, no, no, no. It's it's clearly as bad as it's ever been. And it doesn't seem like they want to talk about it. They just want to chant, well, we're doing better than we were, and we have no reasonable solutions.

And sometimes, in some cases, it seems like the reclassifying, you know, and during the COVID time, somebody's riding a motorcycle and has an accident and dies, but they had COVID. They get ruled as a COVID death, and that's uh an exaggeration, but there was a case like that uh similar to that. In this case, they're reclassifying a lot of it. And so we don't know what to trust it. But I can tell you from the standpoint of that source VA situation, we have that here in Bear County as well. And uh give an example back uh back in 23, there was a school board member, the Northside IC uh school district. Now, unlike Paris Houston, which has one school district, my understanding, we have 16 just in the city of San Antonio, 15 different independent school districts, and a board member of the Northside I independent school district. She was arrested for a DWI and then released, and then uh summarily the district attorney uh recused himself of the case and then transferred it to Alascota County, south of here, and then nothing's happened. She has gotten favored treatment, and we continue to see a favored treatment of different people along the lines, and it it depends on who on what political alignment you have, and so we need somebody that comes in who wants to apply the law and seek justice for the district attorney. One of the things that'll that'll help our jail crisis is we had a district attorney actually follow the law and prosecuted by the law, um, and would put people go uh either release them because they've been exonerated or they go on to prison from the jail. There's there's too many we have a terrible overcrowding situation. We spend 15 over 15 million dollars a year in overtime pay because we don't have enough deputies, we're spending um millions upon that uh outsourcing our inmates to other counties because we don't have the jail space. So we need a new jail because the one we have is old, it's it's uh got many issues, and it's obviously not keeping people safe, but we have ninety one over ninety-one people have died in there since twenty twenty. And uh, but we need two thousand more beds. And uh they the the left just doesn't want to do that. We need more more beds, more jails, more bed spaces. We're wasting money because we're not taking care of of our business because we keep spending money on non non-official services. Like a few weeks ago at the Bear County Commissioner Court meeting, just that meeting alone, they spent over two hundred and twenty thousand dollars giving to nonprofit organizations that are not core to the to the services of Bear County. You know, some of those organizations might do good things, some of them might not. But regardless, we're we're in a in a financial crisis, and we have to really cut our spending and redirect it. We have to measure every dollar, and we when we deploy it, we have to make sure we're accountable for it and it's being deployed efficiently. And we can't afford to continue going down this path. We're gonna be, you know, have an orange orange founding situation uh in California, we're gonna have it right here in Texas for mismanagement.

Yeah, absolutely. And and again, on the jail crisis, I've said the same thing. You know, I I look at a lot of the jail crises and I see all the time that this is the the argument they make for a lot of these diversion programs, they'll say, well, you know, we we we don't have enough room in our jail, so instead of sending these people to jail, we'll just send them to these other programs, get them off, whatever it may look like. They'll call them nuisance crimes in a lot of cases, even though they're clearly not quote unquote nuisance crimes, they're real crimes. And I've said, you know, if we just prosecuted people correctly and in a timely manner that we didn't wait a year to go to trial, you know how quickly we could solve the quote unquote jail crisis if people just weren't held there for a year at a time? If instead we said, no, we have a women. We let's say, like it used to be the jail was an overnight facility so the judge could see you in the morning. That's how it should be. And it's it's pretty simple. And we just seem to not face the simple options. We say, no, we'd we'd instead like to spend like Harris Guy, we did we we'd like to spend million dollars on another audit, a third-party audit, to find out we don't need an audit to know what's going on, guys. We we can see it actually.

Right, right. Well, and and if you have a Soros DA who's not prosecuting current uh people who have been charged and inside it in prison, uh they're not there's they're staying there. And if we're not arresting people, uh we stop arresting people because we don't have faith. That's that adds to the problem. Now, you know, it is talked about a lot in the Harris County model of the diversion center. We don't have one. Uh that it it uh everything looks like it's a Houston's more of a model for us to at least consider in having a diversionary program because there are people that go into the Harris County jail that that maybe shouldn't be there. And so there's certainly uh uh that needs the time time and attention to examine that. And but we don't have the money for it. We're gonna have to utilize the state and federal resources to do this. Um my opponent, who's a hard Democrat, and he uh he refused to work with anybody unless you're of the same political party, and he doesn't have a relationship in in Austin or DC anymore. He had them during the Biden administration, and one of the things he did and bring in that was he put started back in 2018 and 19 what he called the climate action adaptation plan, where he's basically gonna convert us over from uh everything that's reliable reliable energy sources like coal, and we're gonna go to politically correct energy sources like solar and wind, and then we had the February freeze of 2021, and we didn't have the power we needed, and then we had about 80 people die uh be from being freezing to death. And so that that perpetuated in that climate adaptation plan and coming forward to now where uh through the Biden administration and their work together, we have now a new emissions test coming to Barrett County, I believe that Harris County has had for a few years, and we're trying to fight that right now because we we don't want we don't want this uh emissions test coming. 73% plus of the emissions coming that are in Barrett County come from outside of Barrett County. And so we're not the source of our problems. That's that that pollution is coming in from other places, and so we're we're in the middle of fighting that, working with the EPA administrator Lee Zeldon, uh C CQ Texas Commissioner on Environmental Quality, the governor, and fortunately, through our work with TCQ and testifying before them, they have issued a rook a relief request to the EPA. And there's been two cities that have been given that relief earlier this year, Phoenix, Arizona, and Salt Lake City. And so we're hoping Barry County is that matter of fact, when Trump uh pardoned recently, I think right around July 4th, he pardoned six people for uh who were being prosecuted for EPA violations under the Clean Air Act. I think uh with some people truck-related issues we pardoned. So we put out a release and President Trump pardoned Barry County from this emissions test, which is making an emissions tax and to make virtue signaling to make people feel good. But it's really gonna have a negligible effect on our environment. It's gonna have a costly effect in Barrett County with over 1.3 million vehicles that fall in that range between two to twenty-four years old. The test itself is twenty-eight dollars, and before you continue continue driving your vehicle, you have to go get your O2 sensor fixed or your Catalan converter fixed, and that's fifteen hundred dollars plus. And so it's really gonna impact Barrett County, which um um is one of the poorer counties of the of the bigger counties, uh, socioeconomically. And so we're gonna face a real issue there. So we have those kind of ideas on the left that our brains were trying to try to make us get out of our gas-powered vehicles and go into electric power vehicles, which we have seen in the February freeze of 2021, that solar and wind wasn't able to generate the electricity that San Antonio and the other 25 cities in Bear County need to sustain themselves.

Right. Now, before we wrap up, uh another big question I have for you specifically, Patrick. Um again, we have Patrick Von Dolan here for Bear County Judge. What was it that kind of because obviously you've got a lot of these compounding issues in a variety of different areas from fiscal and a lot of them are intertwined, obviously, but they're they're separate issues. What kind of drove you to say, hey, you know what? I actually need to run? Like I have all this experience in this sector, I've got a family, but uh God is calling me to this particular spot. What kind of called you to run for Bear County Judge? What was the moment where you said this is something that I have to do?

Well, thank you for that question. It's very important because uh I began in October uh looking for someone to run for Bear County Judge because we saw the writing on the wall that the former mayor of San Antonio was going to run and probably win the Democrat primary. And that particular individual, I'd been fighting him since he ever got on the city council, whether it be the non-discrimination ordinance that was passed in San Antonio in 2013 that came to Houston, and in Houston was uh the Houstonians responded and put it on the ballot and and fought that. Uh, that's a whole nother story in itself, to uh his push for this climate action adaptation plan to remove all gas-powered vehicles out of downtown San Antonio and and and bring us over into a way from reliable energy sources to banning Chick-fil-A from the San Antonio airport, uh, to the taxpayer funding of abortion travel. Those are some of the major issues that I have fought him over uh since twenty thirteen when he got on the city council. And when nobody else would step up. If you need people to help and support, you can go to votefactory.org. Very often with um people don't like me when you uh look for uh we can make a thing. I don't need a run of all the years. We make our budget work for the group again, and we have to make the very budget work for everybody else and all the reason for that. We're not looking to do that, we're looking at uh even uh for the uh increase increase for the measure major is completely taken on an additional calorie for the health. We have to reorder what we're doing here. You can live with the legal things to come in and common things to come in and make what's right for the people because government's here to serve the people, not the other way around. My opponent is very much for the people serving help. I want to make it back, bring it back to a limited form of government because government's here to serve the people and bring that back common sense to the government.

Paxton Blocks Tax Hikes Over Audits

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Attorney General Ken Paxton has notified more than 110 additional Texas cities that they may not raise their property tax rates above the no new revenue rate after his office found they failed to meet state financial audit and transparency requirements. Now, the latest notice expands on his enforcement effort made under Senate Bill 1851, that was last year's law, that limits a noncompliant municipality's authority to raise advalorum taxes. In May of this year, which is when we went over it, the Attorney General notified more than 130 cities of that restriction after reviewing records from more than a thousand municipalities statewide. He said, Quote, I am continuing to fight stop cities from unlawfully raising taxes on hardworking Texans. My office has been investigating cities across Texas. Now, over 110 new cities have been notified that they must not raise property taxes in violation of state law. I will continue to make sure that taxpayers are protected from unlawful tax increases. So SB 1851, the bill that this is all predicated on, requires that this local government have its records and accounts audited every year and to prepare an annual financial statement based upon that audit. Cities must also file the financial statement and the auditor's opinion with the secretary or clerk within 180 days of the end of the city's fiscal year. If the Attorney General determines that a municipality failed to meet those requirements, if they didn't do the audit or they didn't file it with the clerk, or they didn't, you know, they didn't put out their financial statement, whatever it may be, the city cannot adopt a property tax rate above its no new revenue rate for the tax year or following that determination. And so the restriction remains in effect for subsequent tax years until the city completes the audit and prepares or files the required documentation. The no new revenue rate is calculated under the Texas Tax Code to generally allow local government to collect roughly the same amount of property tax revenue from existing property as it did the previous year, excluding revenue from newly added property. In other words, the amount of money they get can technically go up because new buildings are built, new people are moving in, right? You'd expect those things, population grows, you can get more money, but you can't tax people at a higher rate. So somebody that was paying, say, a thousand years before a thousand dollars before will pay the same amount moving forward. Um and so there's a lot of, a lot of cities on this list, just so you guys understand. We can't possibly go through all of them. Houston is not on the list, mind you, uh, but a lot of a lot of the cities are, right? Santa Fe, for instance, is on the list. But we again, it's 110. I don't have time. I could re I could speed read through them, but that won't mean anything to anybody. Uh but they said that the investigation remains ongoing and that additional cities could receive violations if they are found to not comply with the audit requirements. And again, we know why we're doing this. It's a problem when you see consistently that you have these cities that are operating outside the bounds of the law. They operate in a way that is not financially sound, and it it continually happens, and it results in these massive budgetary crises that at the end of the day is just dead on the taxpayers. That's all it is. That the government doesn't suffer, right? They they always act like they're going to, but they don't. And you consistently have this problem, and who ends up bearing the responsibility of dealing with that? It's you, the people, it's the taxpayers that have to do it. Real quick before we go to the break, we got a tax and it says, Good morning. Mr. Von Dolan is a very well-qualified candidate. I pray that he can get his message to quote unquote moderates in Bear County. I hope Governor Abbott notices what a fine public servant he would be and shares some funds. Absolutely. We need more people uh who are not political classmen, right? Who are not just politicos to come in and have some influence, people who have backgrounds in the financial sector, who have backgrounds in the legal sector, right? All these different areas. We need more people and less politicians. And then that doesn't mean that I have a problem, right? If you're if you're a pol politician of 30 years and you're gonna do good things, I'll vote for you. Absolutely. But consistently, the people that that treat politics like their only career consistently will do anything to consolidate power. We continually see that. And it it results, again, in people that are not best at serving the people. It results in politicians who care more about their financial situation, who care more about their money, their prestige, and their resume than they do about you. That's why they push for things that don't make any sense. You constantly find again these same budgetary crises we were just talking about. And so we need more people like Patrick Von Dolan and among many others to run in these positions, hopefully to win, uh, so that we can start taking our state back city by city, county by county, and saying, hey, we've had enough of this political malfeasance that's resulted, unfortunately, of course, in crises of culture, social, and and of course, financial governing. School Threats And Parenting Responsibility

to get into. Uh, we have some stuff going on that really is a cultural epidemic. Um, and it it's coming because I think in the educational system right now, when you look around, I know that we've had some big curriculum wins from the State Board of Education, but in a lot of ways, the way that young people are being educated, especially in the public school system, is so horrendously awful. I I mean, there's just no other way to put it that the result is ultimately catastrophic. To kind of highlight that, I first want to talk about this Westfield high school student. Um, a 17-year-old student at Westfield High School was arrested and charged after authorities say that he posted a threatening message against the school on social media. His name is Christian Ramirez. He was arrested over the weekend and is charged with a terroristic threat, which is a third-degree felony. Court records allege that he posted on social media that he was going to blow up the high school, which of course led to a lockdown at the school, lots of concerns. It seemed very realistic, and then arrested him. He's being held only on a $20,000 bond, which if there is legitimate concern for some sort of blowing up of things, I would imagine that $20,000 seems a little low seems a little low. You get him out 2K, usually it's about 10%. So $2,000 he gets out and he does go and do something because now he's already been charged anyways, may as well do something about it. That's not how we view things, but for to a 17-year-old who is already willing to make these sorts of posts, I think it's a terrible idea. I think you should hold until trial and just make sure trial is speedy. But I want to highlight the reason that I mentioned it is a cultural epidemic is because it's not one student that sort of went crazy. FBI Houston says that it's investigating several threats made against Houston area schools this year, including an alleged plan to carry out a mass shooting at passing into ISD high school. Um they said, quote, at the start of every school year, we see a significant uptick in the amount of threats of mass violence directed at our schools. Three teenagers, all minors, face third degree state felony charges of terroristic threat after investigators say they allegedly planned that particular attack. The FBI's threat mitigation team worked with local law enforcement to investigate the threat and prevent an attack. He said even one of these threats is too many, which is my position. Even one would be evidence that something is going awry, that something is not going right. But during the 2025 to 2026 school year, FBI Houston received 42 tips related to school threats. Now, they do say that's less than the 2024 to 2025 school year, where they say they got 186 tips, but we don't have the exact numbers on the number of comparison in terms of threats, right? We we do know that so far this school year, agents have investigated four threats, and two of those resulted in arrests, this one and the Pasadena. FBI special agent in charge of Houston, Jason Hudson, said that a minor in Huntsville was also arrested in what case investigators believe involved another attempted school shooting. He said it's very personal to us seeing the aftermath of one of these events. The impact that one of those events has on students can be catastrophic. Law enforcement officials will use all available resources to investigate a school threat until they determine whether it is credible. The agency warned that hoax threats can shut down campuses, create fear and stress, drain law enforcement resources, and leave those responsible with a criminal record, even if they were never going to do something, even if it was for fun or you were acting out and you were never going to really do anything about it. It's still really bad. He said there are a tremendous amount of resources that go into the response of one of those threats, whether it's legitimate or not, these are serious charges, and these charges will have a lifelong impact on these teens. And Michelle Ryder, whose child, whose children, pardon me, attended Patadena Memorial High School, said that parents need to play pay close attention to changes in their children's behavior. She said parents need to be more in touch with what their kids are doing, notice the mood swings, notice the irritability, changes in behavior. You need to be the change you want to see in the world, because if we don't talk about it, we're sweeping it under the rug and it's just going to continue. Here's the reality. And there's a couple of things competing for what's causing this problem. Probably the primary one, and I could blame it all on public schools, and I'm going to, in the second reason. But I actually think there's even a bigger reason than that, and that is the disconnect between your parents and between their kids. That that is the primary disconnect. Of course, the second reason highly pertains to the way these children are being raised and being educated. But who is the first and primary responsibility for raising your children? Hint, hint, it's not the government, it's not the school district, it's you. It is the parent. That is the primary bearer of responsibility for your children. And so, yeah, that that includes the decision to send your children to public school, absolutely, which is just at this point an unbelievably bad decision to make. I get why people make it, don't mishear me. I do, I understand, right? It's easy, it's free. I mean, it's not free. It's at no added cost to what you're already paying. So it comes across as free, it's not free. But I I get the reason, right? It it's easy. Both parents can still work during the daytime, pick their kids up in the evening. It all kind of works out. But the result of that is impending catastrophe. And that's not just because maybe your kid will make a terroristic threat, right? That's not the only reason. We've talked, I mean, in depth about the educational problems on display in our public school system that that and imagine, right? This this is across the board. It's not just if your kid is a very good learner, very intelligent, and stuff is moving too slowly for them. They're damaged by that, mind you, right? Kids that could be very high achievers are inherently damaged by the public school system and the model. But imagine that your child's not. Maybe, maybe they're not a good learner. Maybe they have real struggles with school and they need a tailored educational model for them. They're also very much harmed by the public school system because they can't get the specific tutoring they need. They can't get the specific aid and assistance that they need because people are so focused on the they they have to prioritize the average. That means people on the high end of the spectrum are limited. People on the low end of the spectrum are also very much harmed. And then, of course, you have this sort of cultural epidemic coming out where kids are turning to violence, they're turning to gangs, they're turning to drugs. Why? Well, again, we can say it's the education, and it is. We can say that it's the way that these kids are being taught, and it is. We can say that it is the cultural tolerance that doesn't teach them about objective morality, about right and wrong, about good and evil, that that doesn't allow them to understand the camp they're falling in. All of those things are true. But who bears the primary responsibility? Again, I ask, who is in charge of the children? Because it's not the school, it's the parent. And that's part of why public school is so bad. I've said before, I've highlighted it. Do you know how many hours you spend away from your child if you choose to send them to public school? It's not like 15,000 hours that your children will spend away from their parents. 15,000 hours that they should be spending with you that's stripped away from them. All for what? Well, it's not for their educational benefit. It's not like you're sending them to a school that's like the Ivy League Preparatory Academy. No, you're sending them to a place where they'll get worse education, where they'll be indoctrinated into the worst kinds of just perversion imaginable, where they'll have access to the most unbelievable sexually explicit content on the face of the planet. And there's no benefit, right? There's no good trade-off except for I don't have to be with my kid, or maybe both parents can work, right? That's the only benefit you get from any of this. And it's evil. And the reality is that kids were made by God to be close to their parents. And I don't mean in a friendly sense where you're your child's best friend, but in an authority sense of love, the same as God the Father is to us, it's supposed to be a picture of that love. And when you send your kids off to essentially be raised for most of their life by someone else, you're abdicating your responsibility. And when these things happen, and you hear parents saying you need to be close to your children, you need to see these mood changes. When? When are you gonna see them? You don't see them for eight hours out of the day. When are you gonna see them at four o'clock when you're eating dinner together before they have to go do their homework in their room? Are you even eating dinner together? Most of these families are not, as it turns out. You have no opportunity to see those mood changes. If you did see them, would you even notice them? Do you know what their baseline mood was before? Some parents do, many don't. Because they don't have that relationship with their children. And that again, that is an absolute tragedy, and you can see the results of it. You can see the results of stripping children away from their God-ordained parents and giving them to a a supposed neutral third-party source, a government that doesn't love your children, that doesn't somewhat care about your children. And again, the results speak for themselves. And you have all these tips coming in, all these kids who are feeling alone, who are feeling unprioritized, many of them maybe they wouldn't actually do anything, but they feel the need to lash out. Maybe that'll get them the attention they they they so desire. In so many cases, you hear it all the time from psychologists, but it's true. Kids act out because they want attention. Kids act out because they want someone to notice them. Well, someone should. And they shouldn't need to threaten to blow up a school to get noticed. You know who should be noticing them every day? Their parents. It shouldn't have to be the teachers. It shouldn't have to be the FBI. It shouldn't have to be law enforcement. It should be their own parents. And the fundamental reality is that we've we've completely changed that model. And we we want to pretend like this is better. We want to sit around, and this is why when I hear people anti-school choice people, people who say, no, no, no, public school is the best. And if you homeschool your kids are gonna be anti-social freaks, I always wonder what is your end goal here? Because we all know that's not true. We all know that homeschooling doesn't naturally create antisociability. We know that uh I'm anecdotal evidence of it. I've said it before. I was homeschooled, right? I don't like treat it as a core part of my personality, but it's true. I was homeschooled. If you if you talk to me in events or you hear me on the air, do I seem like I'm antisociable? I'm not. I'm not antisocial at all. I don't have those issues. Those issues aren't created by homeschooling. That's just a cop-out propped up by the left to justify stripping kids out of their homes, right? Also part of stripping the mothers out of the home, mind you, that was all part of the same general agenda of getting all the family separated so they could each be indoctrinated in their own ways. But this is the reality. This is the conclusion is that children who need their parents, it is biologically hardwired to need a supporting structure of parental authority, are stripped away, not given that authority, and then they lash out, they feel alone, they're on depression and anxiety medication, they, they, they, they I mean, suicidal ideation is at an all-time high. This is why the trans thing worked so well because there's so many kids that just wanted some sense of belonging and community, and they found it. And sure, did it mean that they had to do things that maybe they didn't even care? Yeah. Maybe it meant they had to do things that they thought were weird. I don't actually I don't actually want to be a furry, uh, but the other furries are so nice to me. And they seem like they actually care about me. Kids need that. And that shouldn't be coming from their parents. It should be coming from the people that God placed in their lives to be that that back rock, to be, to be the bedrock for those children. It's their parents. That's why I'm I that that is a majority of the reason that I am such a fan of homeschooling. It's not just that the education is better, it is. It's not just that your kids won't be indoctrinated, they won't. It's also because there should be a real strong, lasting relationship between parents and their children ordained by God. And when you throw that out, when you strip that away, the results are evil. With that being said, to wrap up the show, we get back. Depending on the text, if you want to text in, text in. Op-Ed Warning About Political Islam

Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to Lone Star Conservative. I'm your host, Michael Wilson. This opinion editorial is one of the best I've ever read. I'm just gonna read this. We are losing Texas. Unconstrained immigration has introduced cultures that have no intention of assimilating to become Americans. Political Islam is on the march, undeterred by federal, state, or local action. This is why fellow Texas Congressman Chip Roy and I started the Sharia Free American Caucus in Congress. Sixteen Texas members of Congress now belong. My Texas colleague, Congressman Brandon Gill, is exactly right that immigration is changing our state, and that many of our challenges stem directly from unconstrained immigration. State Representative Brent Money started the Sharia Free Texas Caucus in the Texas House. The issue is that nominee Texans are aware of the danger. The rapid spread of political Islam is overwhelming our educational and legislative efforts. While several cultures do not assimilate, the most rapid and most dangerous is the explosion of political Islam across Texas. My district in North Texas is cer certainly the epicenter, but it is a statewide phenomenon. Other states are also experiencing the onslaught. I will focus only on Texas. Texas must not become what the United Kingdom is today. Rape gangs have abducted more than 250,000 non-Muslim girls off the street, forced alcohol and drugs into them, then passed them around like property to be gang raped. Sadly, some of the girls have been arrested for public drunkenness while gang members go free. The explosive growth of outside Sharia compliant compounds in Texas is attracting a wave of Muslims. Sedition against the U.S. Constitution is openly preached by numerous Imams across America. Sharia compliant accommodations are being made by local governments, often with the excuse that state law requires accommodation. For example, right here in my hometown of McKinney, Texans walking dogs have already been harassed by Muslim men. Dogs are haram, forbidden in Islam. Political Islam, enforced by Sharia law, is absolutely incompatible with the U.S. Constitution. They simply cannot coexist. Fourteen hundred years of history shows us that political Islam will overwhelm whatever culture it enters without strong understanding, conviction, and the will to stop it. While many of the actions that would stop the spread of Sharia law are rightly state level, nothing is stalling the march of political Islam. Texans must stand on the principle that there is only one supreme law in America. We cannot lose Texas political Islam. As Texas goes, so goes the nation. I stand with Texas's, I ask the Texas stand with Chip Roy, Brandon Gill, Brent Money, and me. Defend the U.S. Constitution and Texas law against political Islam. Do it today. What can you do? Be aware of political Islam actions happening in your city. Be vocal with your local elected officials. Show up at city council and county commissioners' court meetings. Get to know the history of political Islam better. Be in the moment your children and grandchildren are counting on you. Defend the U.S. Constitution, defend Texas heritage and culture. Texas needs you. I really couldn't have said it any better myself. And that is exactly my position. The issue is not Sharia. That's there. We have laws against it. The issue is Islam. This Islamic will that is coming to our nation. Again, we have 1,400 years of history to highlight all of this. And it's right in front of us. And we're just letting it happen. We got to do more.
