The comeback kids have done it again! Trailing by 14 points in the third quarter, the New York Knicks staged yet another remarkable rally to defeat the defending champion Boston Celtics 121-113, taking a commanding 3-1 series lead in this Eastern Conference semifinal matchup.

Jalen Brunson continues to cement his legacy as perhaps the greatest free agent signing in Knicks history, delivering a masterful 39-point, 12-assist performance when the team needed him most. "Captain Clutch" sparked the comeback by scoring 11 points during a crucial 21-8 run that completely flipped the momentum of the game. What we're witnessing isn't just basketball—it's the birth of a New York sports legend right before our eyes.

The supporting cast showed exactly why the front office made those bold midseason moves. Mikal Bridges, acquired for five first-round picks specifically for matchups like this, contributed 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. OG Anunoby broke out of his scoring slump with 20 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 23 points and 11 rebounds. Even Mitchell Robinson made his presence felt with 8 rebounds, several coming on the offensive glass at critical moments. This wasn't just a star performance—it was a complete team effort that showcased the depth and resilience that defines this Knicks squad.

What's most impressive about this Knicks team is their fourth-quarter dominance throughout the series. When the pressure mounts and the lights shine brightest, they've consistently outworked, outsmarted, and outplayed the Celtics. Now they head to Boston for Game 5 with a chance to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The road ahead remains challenging, but this team has proven time and again that they thrive in adverse circumstances. This feels different from previous Knicks playoff runs—there's a genuine belief that something special is happening. Speaker 1:

I'm not superstitious, but I'm a little stitious, I'm very much stitious. And right now the New York Knicks take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Boston Celtics after that 121-113 victory last night. This is Tim. This is New York Knicks Unleashed. Oh, you know, I said this the other day and I take full blame and full responsibility for that.

Speaker 1:

Game three loss. Game two went into I. I did the exact same thing, had on the same jersey, sat in the same chair, drank the same thing, did everything exactly the same. My wife came downstairs with about four minutes left in the third in each game and said why are you still watching this? Saturday night or Saturday afternoon I had to go to a party and of course I jinxed us. I fully admit it. So then I come home yesterday and I go back downstairs, I drop the movie screen, get the same drinks, the same Jersey, the same shoes, the same shirt, everything sat back down in my chair with about five minutes left in the third. I called my wife and said come down to the man cave and ask me why I'm still watching this. And what are the next two? Down by 14? They come back. Take a commanding three. One lead, oh, 14, they come back, take a commanding three, one lead, oh it just. It just felt like some people feel like it feels like 99. I think it feels like 94. I feel like I think it feels like that Indiana series. Uh, that's what I personally think.

Speaker 1:

New York Knicks outscored Boston by 22 points in the final 20 plus minutes of the game. They came up like seven up once again. Jalen Brunson, captain clutch, with this 39 points, it's, it's just, it's. It's just what he does for this team and what he means to this franchise right now. It's, it's, it's just, it's just mind boggling. It really shows that he is probably one of the best Nick. He is the I'm going to say it right now he is the the best Nick free agent sign ever and potentially he could be one of the best free agent signings in the history of the NBA. Do you think that the Dallas Mavericks are kicking themselves?

Speaker 1:

Brunson finishes with 39 points, 12 assists. You have the bridges, oh bridge over Boston's ass Adding another 23,. Seven rebounds, four steals. Even Carl Anthony Towns 23 and 11. Og, I don't know. We broke out of that scoring slump a little bit with a big 20-point game. Even Mitchie the Kid, oh, mitchell Robinson, we found you finally on the offensive glass Eight rebounds. Tatum, of course, pours in 42 with seven threes. Keep chucking up those threes please, because we enjoy watching them not fall. Do everything you potentially can.

Speaker 1:

Of course we had the scary injury with Jason Tatum last night towards the end of the game. It was a non-contact injury. If you take a look at where he was holding his leg or his ankle, it was behind his ankle. Normally that's an Achilles tendon and I think we've seen that injury enough to know when you grab in that specific spot it's potentially an Achilles injury. And of course, it was a non-contact injury late in the game. We all know this from football. We all know this from the Giants, because Giant fans are sometimes equally stupid in regards to the fact of knowing things. But an Achilles injury is what they refer to as a repetitive stress injury. There was nothing you could do about it. There was no way you could stop it. There was nothing nefarious about it. His foot didn't stick on the court. It's just when you use that tendon repeatedly in the same motion for an extended period of time for some people sometimes it wears out and then it snaps like a rubber band. That's why it's referred to as a repetitive stress injury. So our prayers go out to Jason Tatum. You never want to see anyone go down like that. It doesn't matter if it's your arch enemy. You just don't want to see that.

Speaker 1:

Brunson, once again in this game, caught fire. Oh the guard. Like I said, they were down again. You come out slow, then they're alive. Like I said, it was 14 points early in the Celtic lead. I should say it was 14 points early in the third. You kind of had this. You looked at it at one point in time. Do you have this crushing feeling that it could potentially be another Saturday where it just slips away? No, what do the Knicks do? They reel off 21 of the next 29 points, 11 coming from Brunson. The man is just on fire. Bridges then once again scores on consecutive possessions to begin the final period. The Knicks then went up on five and then just went on fire. They were what we like to refer to as en fuego and they just rolled from there.

Speaker 1:

Another stunning win over the defending champions, boston Celtics. I'm just like I said. I've been a Knick fan since the early 80s. My favorite player back in the day, still my favorite Knick of all time is Bernard King. I just actually got an autographed Bernard King jersey, so I'm super excited about that.

Speaker 1:

But watching Brunson Brunson's creeping up on the list, creeping up, I find it interesting that the first three games of the series, that was the worst stretch of games offensively all season long for the Knicks. But all they do is come back in the fourth and the Boston's offense just all of a sudden dies. It's just. It's just weird to watch in that second half. Like I said, boston is relying on the three. They haven't been very efficient about it. Carl Anthony Towns, though, could you stop hoisting up threes? You're one for 10. You're one for 10. You're almost seven feet tall. You don't really play with your back to the basket, but could you stop hoisting up threes. Please Take advantage of the smaller defenders down low. How about that? I know it's a crazy thought process. I know it's a crazy thought process.

Speaker 1:

People forget that the Boston Celtics have the fourth-ranked defense in the regular season. They are excellent defenders. So when you see that the Knicks have these issues offensively, it's not because of the fact that at times they're just putrid and don't know how to play offense. It is because of the fact that the Boston Celtics are a good team. They're a big body team. They just keep running out waves. You know, with Kristoff Brzingis and Derek White they just keep coming at you and you forget Big Al. But the thing is this the Knicks bigs, when we play well, are taking on the Celtics. The Knicks have scored 37 points on 30 chances and these were points against these bigger interior guys. It's just something special to watch.

Speaker 1:

And, like I said, with Bridges, bridges was brought in. You got rid of Devontae DiVincenzo and Julius Randle because of the fact that you wanted Bridges for this series and Bridges and OG Ananobi were brought in. One was given 212. One was traded for five first-rounders because of this series. And we see what Bridges does in the fourth quarter. The Knicks offense, basically through the first three wins in the fourth quarter, that offense is being run through Bridges and Brunson.

Speaker 1:

It's just something different. Like I said, it's different to watchges and Brunson. It's just something different. Like I said, it's different to watch Brunson's just as much as Captain Clutch right now. You just watch him play and you are just like okay, he is a guy. Like I said a couple games before when he played 51 minutes out of a total of 55. He is a guy that is always on the court. He is a guy that's giving you that effort. He is a guy that's well. Sometimes he's not pouring in the statute whoops, I guess. Well, I know what the world's most precious resource. I don't know, he's not always the guy pouring in the statute, but he is a guy that is there doing the things like I hate the cliche. He does the little things that don't show up on the stat sheet, but in some ways he does. That term is a better term to use than in football, because in basketball I do think it has a little bit more meaning.

Speaker 1:

But you take a look at this team. Like I said, you got 20-3 from OG Hart. Again, hart is not that scorer that everyone thinks he is at times, but he does have his moments. He only had six points. We had nine rebounds and 30. The bench again. You know, you got a nice contribution from Mitchie the Kid with his only four points. Maybe that's a big eight rebounds. He had a bunch of offensive boards. Mcbride is the only other one that really contributed on the bench after playing 20 minutes for six points. Uh, we finally had a my precious sighting one more time. But, like I said, you just look at the tail of two halves boston. The first two half totals they, they, they took the knicks 39 28 in the first they tied 23 23, then the knicks went 37 23 in the third. Third and then Knicks 33-28 to give them that big 121-113 win.

Speaker 1:

Now we head over to Boston for Wednesday, wednesday, wednesday, wednesday, truckosaurus. The Knicks just have to keep doing what they do believe in themselves. You have to hope that the pattern that is going on right now, where the home team, outside of the Knicks game and a couple other games, the home team has not been able to hold serve. You hope Indiana finishes off Cleveland. Because of the fact that I would rather play. I think the Knicks match up better offensively and defensively against Indiana than they do against that vaunted down 3-1 Cleveland Cavaliers team. So you know what we just got to keep our heads high, keep moving forward and, as always, like, subscribe and let's go Knicks, knicks, knicks, knicks.
