ASBL 74, Amanda Bell, House Candidate, Wisconsin D-6, June 29, 2026

The American Small Business League spoke with Amanda Bell, running for Congress as a Democrat in Wisconsin’s District 6. Her website is www.AmandaBellForCongress.org.

We discussed her plan for her District and the goals of our www.DontCheatWomen.com project.

The incumbent in her District, Glenn Grothman, has introduced a bill that will strip protection from Women-Owned Small Businesses and Minority-Owned Businesses. If it passes, all federal contract dollars will probably go to companies owned by men. Learn what you can do to help at www.ASBL.Substack.com, see the May 21, 2026, article pinned at the top.

From Amanda’s website:

“Amanda was raised on a farm, worked in local factories, then for 25 years she was with the U.S. Geological Survey, leading teams that studied and protected our nation’s most vital natural resources and rising to Deputy Director of that multi-state federal agency. Amanda believes real leadership means listening first, not to party leaders or political donors, but to the people you represent.”

Main issues include:

ECONOMY & COST OF LIVING

  • Lower healthcare costs and cap insurance deductibles
  • Increase wages so work pays the bills
  • Stop corporate monopolies that raise prices and lower wages
  • Protect homeowners from Wall Street investors

HEALTHCARE

  • Cap deductibles and out-of-pocket costs
  • Lower prescription drug prices
  • Move toward a single-payer healthcare system
  • Protect access to rural healthcare

HOUSING

  • Limit corporate ownership of housing
  • Expand affordable housing programs
  • Protect renters from unfair practices
  • Support first-time homebuyers

EDUCATION

  • Fully fund public schools
  • Repair unsafe school buildings
  • Support teachers and school staff
  • Protect the Department of Education

Our Substack about the bill that must be stopped:

(61) ASBL 70, Save Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Small Businesses (Oppose New Bill), May 21, 2026

“On April 27, 2026, a bill was introduced in the House (H.R. 8511 by Rep. Glenn Grothman-R, Wisconsin District 6) and the Senate (S. 4390 by Sen. Mike Lee-R, Utah) that would wipe out the federal contracting goals for minority and Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs).”

“We want this bill squashed and hope that you will oppose it, too, with every resource at your disposal. Please share this with everyone in your professional and personal worlds and contact the people below. (Also below see video of candidate Amanda Bell describing her confrontation with Rep. Grothman about his bill.)”
