From the African bush to the mountains of Spain, our team is directly involved in your hunt—from the first conversation and travel planning to the guides, hunting areas, accommodations, trophy selection, and your time in the field.
On the Global Hunting Solutions Podcast, we share firsthand knowledge about African safaris, dangerous game, Cape buffalo, plains game, Spanish ibex, the Spanish Ibex Grand Slam, rifles and equipment, trophy selection, hunting techniques, travel logistics, and what you should know before booking an international hunt.
We'll also take you behind the scenes with professional hunters, guides, and the people who actually operate these hunts.
Our philosophy is simple:
Know who you're hunting with.
With Global Hunting Solutions and 4 Aces Outfitters, you don't need one company for Africa and another for Spain.
One team. One outfitter. Africa and Spain.
Whether your dream is standing face-to-face with a Cape buffalo in Africa or pursuing all four Spanish ibex across the mountains of Spain, we're here to take you from planning the hunt to experiencing it firsthand.

Botswana is the top of the mountain for elephant, and nothing else in Africa hunts like it. In this episode I sit down with Geoffrey Wayland to break down what a luxury Okavango Delta elephant hunt actually looks like — from the flight in to the day you finally put eyes on the right bull.
In this episode:
• Why Botswana stands apart from every other elephant destination
• What the Delta concessions are like and how you get in and out
• Tracking on foot — the mileage, the heat, and what the days really demand
• Judging a bull: what we look at before anyone raises a rifle
• Rifle and ammo choices for elephant, and how much shooting to do before you come
• Camp life, the luxury side of the hunt, and what non-hunters do all day
• Trophy handling and export after the hunt is over
This is a hunt you plan a year or more out. If Botswana is on your list, call us and let’s talk dates before they’re gone.

SPEAKER_00One of the special things is the diversity. Like the rest of Africa, hunting pays for conservation in a way that ecotourism never could. You know, one of the big things is overpopulation, especially a problem with elephants.
SPEAKER_02The landscape is irreplaceable and very special. So we're here today with Jeffrey Whalen with Four Aces Outfitters. What we're going to talk to you today is about our hunting areas, why we choose those areas and why they're important to us.
SPEAKER_00We could be hunting in the swamps, we could be up in the jungle in the north.
SPEAKER_02It's something about the hills in Africa, the trees are different, and it's just a magical experience. I see some of the hunters, they'll they'll pull up a chair and they'll go over in the corner and they'll just look at the sunset, and you can't replace that.
SPEAKER_00No, you can't.
SPEAKER_02There's nowhere else in the world that has sunrise or sunset like Africa.
SPEAKER_00And we spend a lot of time and money, you know, researching our areas, spending time boots on the ground, looking for these animals. I saw two females on here, and then I was just Because we are the guide. Because we are the guys. We're not booking agents. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Again, we are not booking agents.
SPEAKER_00We are guides. So we spend a lot of time during our summer months going into our areas.
SPEAKER_02And so if you have a hunter that's coming in, you know this guy wants a super trophy, the pressure's on you.
SPEAKER_00The pressure's on you. No one else.
SPEAKER_02That's why we spend so you gotta go out there, you gotta go scout, you gotta find an animal that you hope can you can find when the client shows up.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And you you know I think we have an above-average success rate in finding super, super big trophies. Well done, sir. Congratulations.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. First time in Africa and was blessed enough to freaking take a spiral slant. That is freaking nuts. It's amazing.
SPEAKER_00We've done very, very well.
SPEAKER_02Why do we choose Botswana?
SPEAKER_00Elephant.
SPEAKER_02Elephant. So in today's world, we choose Botswana because that's where we believe we have the best opportunity, a trophy-sized elephant bolt.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we've hunted all over Africa for elephant and we've settled for Botswana in the last 10 years.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um, or since they opened. We have the best success there at shooting trophy quality elephant.
SPEAKER_02But Botswana was closed for elephant hunting for a number of years.
SPEAKER_00Yes, so they had a uh monitorium placed on them. All those areas got closed down.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00For I think it was 12 or 15 years or however long it was. You know, I think their government realized, like the rest of the world, hunting pays. Hunting pays for conservation in a way that ecotourism never could. You know, one of the big things is overpopulation. If there's aren't hunters to keep that in check, you know, the areas get overpopulated, especially a problem with elephants, you know, time after time. We don't go home without shooting a big elephant.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00We have access to the best blocks and we get a fair amount of quota, and it's something that we can really, it's something we do very well, is shoot big elephants. They're generally long hunts. And when you speak to your travel agent, you have a date that you arrive to Johannesburg and you have a date that you fly home from Johannesburg. All the internal travel we take care of.
SPEAKER_02Um Let's just say I go and I book an elephant hunt with you, you're gonna guide me.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna guide you.
SPEAKER_02Um I fly into Johannesburg.
SPEAKER_00Flying to Johannesburg. From there, I take care of your flights to Botswana, your gun permitting, we take care of all of that so that you don't have to worry about coming to South Africa and leaving to a different country. So you arrive in Johannesburg, we take care of the rest. You know, our elephants are 10 to 18 days.
SPEAKER_02Jeffrey, that's very important because how many hunters have you been with over the years and and they come into camp and they don't want to shoot on day one because they've got, you know, 13 more days. Exactly. I like this camp. So let's just say we go to Botswana and you you find me a nice leopard on day five, like you said. Well, we've got, you know, a few more days in there, and you don't want to just sit and catch it. Right. You say that's the leopard you want to shoot. And I'm thinking, man, if I shoot it now, what the heck am I gonna do for the next 10 days or whatever. Right, you never turn down a leopard.
SPEAKER_00Rule one, never turn down.
SPEAKER_02Or an elephant, because you'll never see him again.
SPEAKER_00That's the one thing is, you know, a lot of guys, like you're saying, don't want to shoot on day one or two. Um, believe me, when the right elephant is in front of you and it's day one or two or three, you'll be an idiot not to squeeze the trigger.
SPEAKER_02That's right. I think we're gonna go look at this elephant. And I potentially Mike's gonna shoot us.
SPEAKER_01More damage. Just try it.
SPEAKER_03Are we ready? Thank you. Okay. Shoot him again. You can shoot him right between his eyes. And then if he just waited, did he just go down in the water? No, don't you're not gonna shoot him now? One shot drop them. Thanks, Mike. Completely different feeling.
SPEAKER_01It's a little really big majestic animals.
SPEAKER_02So it's feeling a little different. And so fast forward through the day, and you know, you may be on the truck hunting and the sun starts setting. It's a surreal experience in Africa, and you see it on a lot of videos, and you see it a lot of historically. But until you experience yourself, you really don't know what we're talking about. So you might want to just stop and look up.
SPEAKER_00Take it in.
SPEAKER_02Get off the phone, get off all the electronics, and and and and I promise you, when you get to Africa, you won't even want to look at a phone. A lot of our clients, you know, they they want they love being out in the field, they love being around you and me, and everyone else, but they're a little bit hesitant to shoot on day one, day two, or day three because they want it more of a experience, right?
SPEAKER_00Every time we've turned down a big elephant on day three that's in the bracket that the guy was looking for, he usually ends up shooting one smaller later.
SPEAKER_02What's the saying? Don't turn down the elephant that you shoot on the last day or something like that.
SPEAKER_00If you if you're willing to shoot it on the last day, you should be willing to shoot it on the first day. That's it.
SPEAKER_02And a lot of people are not like that.
SPEAKER_00A lot of people aren't. And we do our best to avoid those situations.
SPEAKER_01Then they may mount their bulver and go check them out. In that yell.
SPEAKER_03Come, come, come.
SPEAKER_01On your knee, on your knee, on your knee? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Fuck me. And you have five or ten more days left. We'll keep you hunting and and it's not like you're gonna sit in camp the rest of the time.
SPEAKER_02You are never gonna be bored.
SPEAKER_00You are never gonna be bored. I will not allow it.
SPEAKER_02We can make it as busy or as relaxed as you wish. You may wake up one day and say, Look, dude.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to do anything.
SPEAKER_02Dude, you hammered me yesterday and the day before. I need a little break. And that's fine, no problem.
SPEAKER_00That's not a problem at all. Um, and you know, a lot of times guys are like, you know, I want to take a day off, um, especially if they're there with wives and kids. We'll I want to take a day off and maybe just go see animals, go do something. Is there anything in the area? Um a lot of times we'll break it up and one day we'll go do something with them that's unique to the area we'll be in at the time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean I think that's a a good um reflection of what we have going on in some of the other countries. Is there anything else that you would like to touch on?
SPEAKER_00No, I think um, you know, if we go specifically, if we're talking specifically now about Botswana, the main reason we're there are big elephant and big leg. And we've been very successful in that in the last couple of years that we've since it's opened up since we've been hunting there. And um, I I believe there's a great future for us there. Um we have great camps, we have great hunting areas, some of the best. Um so yeah, give us a call.
SPEAKER_02Alright, cool. Give us a call. Uh you have all my information, and I'd be happy to share Jeffrey or Adam's information with you. Um, most importantly, we want to thank everyone for supporting our YouTube channel and making this success. You know, we've been very blessed over the last few months. It's a new thing for me.
