Hello, love! This is Mama Lark. Welcome to Good Mama Meditations. If you've ever yearned for a loving mother to wake you gently up, this meditation is for you. To learn more about this series, I encourage you to listen to the introduction track. And if you'd like to learn more about my own remothering journey, look for Good Mama Magic. How I lost my religion, hitchhiked away from my marriage, discovered magic and met the Mother. This meditation was written by Mama Amy, one of my oldest and dearest friends. Mama Amy has been with me through many life transitions; she knows who she is, and she holds that space with gentle firmness, but she Also, she has a way of seeing who others are and holding space for them too. She is a celebrator of life; she loves good books and good words, and she loves her own children with fierce protectorship always wanting the best for them and always willing to speak with clarity and kindness even when the conversations are hard to have. She shows up big; she loves even bigger, and she makes the best sugar cookies you've ever tasted. Today you are so lucky to have Mama Amy as your own. My love, may you have such a good morning with good Mama Amy. My love, may you have such a good morning with good Mama Amy. Good morning, good morning; it's great to stay. Out late but good morning, good morning to you, good morning darling, it's good to see you today, it's time to get up, stretch! Don't you worry about talking just go through the waking up, don't you worry about talking just go through the waking up getting ready motions, and I'll tell you some things. First, it's really good to have you here in this world. You are a light and a gift, and I'm glad you're alive. Second, I don't know what the day looks like for you, but I believe there are delights in store that you don't know about yet. Maybe you'll meet someone new or find money on the ground. Maybe you'll see something beautiful that will move your soul, or you'll read something that makes you think. Remember, if in the middle of a storm, in the middle of all the good, there are bumps, people who choose to be unkind, hang-ups in traffic or online, sadness or frustration in any manner, remember this. It's always within your power to change your thoughts, which change your feelings. You're not only able, but you are capable and powerful. Look for truth. Look for good. You are gritty, open-hearted and kind. You are a Merrill. Have I told you that story? When we lived in Rainbow Harbor, we lived between two women. Both of them were older than 70, and our home sat right in between theirs. On the left was Dory. She watched the weather and feared it. She would open her front door, peer out, but not to welcome the day, rather to find a reason to retreat. She wasn't unkind, but she acted afraid. When she did go out in her black car, she'd only take routes with right-hand turns, so she'd never have to make a dangerous left. On the other side was Merrill. She had an open face, salt and pepper hair, and a beautiful smile. She was a good girl, and made orange cakes. She always had her family over for parties, and played the accordion at an assisted living center. Both women were good neighbors, but my love, let's be a Merrill. Go out today, armed with your own power of self-awareness. Your ability to choose your thoughts and actions in any situation. Be kind toward all people, and confident that you, my beautiful child, are strong, needed, wanted, and wonderful.
