Introduction to the Whitetail Realm.
SPEAKER_00
Hey everyone, I'm Mason Hartman. And I'm Lane Baldwin. And you're listening to The Whitetail Realm. Hey everyone, here's our first episode of the Whitale Realm, and uh Lane and I thought we might just introduce ourselves a little bit. Uh both of us uh live in Indiana. I live over on the west side, kinda on the Illinois border, and Lane lives on the east side of the state on the Ohio border. Uh both of us met at Blackhawk East in College, and uh we uh both talk deer hunting about every day on the phone on our way home from work, so we figured might as well sit down at a table, start recording ourselves, make a little podcast, and just have fun doing it.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, we might not be worth a shit at this, but we're definitely gonna we're definitely gonna try here. We're ain't no professionals by any means. Um we're both actually pretty young. Um we're in our mid-20s, and um just this is our passion, and it's what we like to do, so figure we might as well try it.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, like Lane said, neither of us are smart, so we're not here to teach and preach you guys about, oh, this is how you need to hunt over a scrape or certain wins or any of that. We're just we like talking deer hunting, so we just started recording it. But uh there'll be all kinds of topics we uh discuss over the podcast. We'll have different guests and everything. And Lane and I hunt a little different too, so it just kind of gives you different perspectives of what we're doing every day, and just kind of gives you something to burn window time when you're driving and get to listen to something else, a different podcast. And if you guys like kind of the other podcasts out there, they're gonna be pretty similar. We're not gonna put stuff down your throat at all. We're just here to have fun, talk about deer hunting, and enjoy it. Uh kind of a little bit about us. Like I said, I grew up on the western side of the state, kind of in agriculture, work in a uh territory manager job now for a used equipment auction company, and that's kind of what I do for my nine to five. And as soon as I'm off the farm, uh both of us actually raise show pigs, so we that kind of takes up most of our off time. But when we're not doing either of those, we're usually in the woods trying to get after something.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, like Mason said, I also uh kind of grew up in the ag background. Um now I don't use my degree, unlike Mason, he uses his. I'm a I'm a maintenance mechanic now for a soybean plant, so um I uh pretty much work um your regular 7 to 3 30, five days a week job, and I uh twist wrenches and everything else at work. So in my off time, like Mason said, we both race show hogs, so I do that, and then of course hunting and fishing, and um pretty much that's all I do on the the time off.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, it's getting close to season here. We're recording this the night before opening day, so excitement's high. I know uh Lane maybe not has what he's looking for to chase after uh yet on camera, but I got a couple on camera I'm excited to get after here in this first week. But uh, like we said, we're just here to have fun and record our passion, what we're getting here doing. And this is the Whitale Realm. I'm Mason. And I'm Lane.
