Welcome back, everybody. This is the Whitetail Realm. I'm Mason. And I'm Lane. And we got another special guest in here. We got Lane's little brother, Bo Day. He's in the house today. Hey, I'm Bo.
SPEAKER_01Bo's a little nervous.
SPEAKER_02He's gonna sit in on one with us here, and then uh we're gonna do his episode after this so he can kind of get the feel of everything and figure out what it's all about.
SPEAKER_01Good deal. Well, Mason's back in town once again. Um last night we had actually a Christmas party that he came in for, so we drank some beer and played some Euchre and had a good time and had a pretty uh rated R white elephant gift exchange. So I don't know if anybody's seen them white elephant gift exchange, but they can get pretty com comical and funny.
SPEAKER_02So I did kick a lot of people's ass in Euchre. Yes, yeah. We did win some Euchre games. Uh but uh hunting related. We this weekend we shot all the new uh flagship bows of everything, and we I we shot the Hoyt and the Matthews, kind of the two we're both stuck between.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we both um I mean them were really the only primary two that we shot, which you got a little better feel for the Matthew because it was set up for your draw. Yep. The Hoyt was set up for my draw, and so we kind of just switched back and forth a little bit, but very impressed with both the bows. I like both of them. They both got their perks.
SPEAKER_02Which we both loved the lift last year, too, and I didn't think there was much difference between the two this year, other than the new tuning stuff.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, I love the lift, I just don't know if y'all be able to afford the lift.
SPEAKER_02It's not so much affording the lift as to buy all the accessories to go with it is almost as much as the bow.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, that which I mean it looks awesome set up, and there was one last year model there that a guy was uh had for sale that was fully loaded, but at the same time, Mason was looking at that one and I don't know if it just the color of it you said you didn't like as much.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I get pretty picky, but I like clean looking stuff, and it was kind of the fade to black, and I think those are uglier in hell. So I went ahead and passed on it. Plus, I think I just want something that I know was well taken care of.
SPEAKER_01Well, and if you're gonna spend that much money, what's another 500 bucks and getting you know a new one that you know for sure.
SPEAKER_02And I still might get the I'm not sold on getting the Matthews yet, I still might get the Hoyt Alp X2, yeah. Or X2, whatever they call it. That boat's super quiet. Literally, there's a little 12-year-old kid sitting there, and he's like, I kept looking around to see if that guy was even shooting, talking about Lane, and he goes, I every time he's pulling an arrow, a boat was quiet. Yeah, you only heard it hitting the target, you couldn't hear it coming out. It was pretty sweet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, I mean, it felt good too. I liked it quite a bit.
SPEAKER_02It drew easy. Like I I was telling Lane this year I'm bumping up to 75 pound mods if I get the Matthews or limbs on the Hoyt, but uh heck I might even bump up to 80. I felt like I was pulling nothing back with that 70.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, which my elite now is only 60, so it really well I couldn't see a whole big difference. I mean, pulling it back. Them bows is they draw so smooth, they have a a good backing stop too. I mean, yeah, it's awesome.
SPEAKER_02They're pretty sweet.
SPEAKER_01It's kind of and I think all these bow companies are all so good anymore. It's just preference. I mean, really, I mean, they're all shoot good, they're quick, they're all smooth. So it's just picking what you like, you know, you prefer the most.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Exactly. So we did that all yesterday for a couple hours, shot the new bows. I've been tossing and turning the idea of when buying buying a new bow, like keeping my bow.
SPEAKER_01Luckily, the guy that runs a bow shop ain't in town this week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if he was in town yesterday, I'd probably have been walking out there with a new bow, but he wasn't in there, so just a couple of his employees who didn't I didn't pull the trigger. I wanted to talk to him.
SPEAKER_01Give a little shout out to Tom at Cutting Edge in Greensburg, Indiana. Great bow shop.
SPEAKER_02Best bow shop in Indiana.
SPEAKER_01I love them there. They always take care of you, they know their bows, and he's very blunt and honest. He's not gonna he ain't a salesman, he's there to give you a bow that's last year.
SPEAKER_02We were in there, and Lane and I were thinking about buying new bows, and he talked Lane out of buying a new one to keep his old one. He's like, There's nothing wrong with it. Why would you need a new one? I've never met a salesman try to do that before.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and he said that to me again this year. He's like, if you're shooting it well, it does what you need it to do. Like, why would you change?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Which he's got a good point.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. The main reason I'm on a switch is we're gonna go on this pronghorn hunt this year, and I need a little more speed, and it's kind of why I want to get to 75 or 80 pound mods in a Matthews bow and just start flanging some cooking arrows down.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. Especially going out west, if that's our true goals.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, exactly. Which obviously it's called the Whitetail Realm, so it doesn't matter even if we get a 75-pound mod, it's still gonna work for whitetail.
SPEAKER_01Well, and like mine, I'm pulling 60 pounds right now, and it gets the job done. I mean, I'm shooting a whitetail at 30 yards, it's gonna get through there as long as your arrow set up is right and the broadheads, and so but if we go out west, we need a little more speed for them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, quick goats.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I haven't shot 75 yards a whole lot a whole lot, so definitely need a little more punch in it. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Well, we're getting to late season here. I know Illinois had their uh second shotgun or gun season this weekend. Um Indiana's muzzlader opened up this weekend, and uh guys are still out there trying to get it done. I know I talked to my taxidermist this week, just checking in, see how my buck was coming along, and he only takes I think 65 a year, and usually he's full by the end of the first gun season that weekend, and he still has openings, so I know it's been pretty slow for everybody around here.
SPEAKER_01Well, and it's kind of weird. Julie's the complete opposite. The my taxidermist, she cut out, and actually the night I shot my deer, she cut off the limit of deer she's taken. So which everywhere's a little different, you know. Certain people take different amounts. Um, we got a buddy from college, he killed a real good buck this past oh two nights ago, I think.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he killed stud.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, stud. So Mitch, hopefully we can get him on sometime. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He killed two good bucks this year. This one that was the first one. Oh, sorry.
SPEAKER_01Well it was uh I think last it was last year of the year before he killed a really, really good deer.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, it's uh late seasons definitely in kick here. It actually warmed up a little today. It's been pretty cold the last week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I went around this last week and moved all my cameras around from you know the the right spots where I was trying to catch them to move them closer to some food sources. And actually I put a lot of them over some old scrapes and uh I was telling Lane I tried the whole rope scrape thing this year and I was cussing it so bad. I put I put them on my best cameras that had feed over or something this summer that deer were already coming to, and as soon as I put them up, man, every buck disappeared. I was so mad at it. But this week when I was out there moving my cameras, I saw their scrapes opened up underneath all of them.
SPEAKER_01So they're back hitting them very well.
SPEAKER_02They were and every camera I put one on has well had pictures of big deer on it since I mean they've been up there a week now.
SPEAKER_01Well, and I've noticed um like the last three days I've had books returned back to scrap. Yeah. So I actually wanted the deer I was worried about. I haven't had them in about a week and a half, two weeks. He was gone and he showed back up. So thankfully he I made it through gun season. Now he's just got a few more weeks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh I I was telling Lane now that I know the rope scrapes actually work and probably just this year I don't remember when I put them out. Was it August?
SPEAKER_01It was late. I think it was actually September, I remember.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was it was later than I should have, but now I told Lane probably what I'm gonna do is carry a couple of them around with me in uh turkey season, at least put them up and then probably go back and put some scent over them early.
SPEAKER_01Like during shed season is a great time. I like honestly um shed season, I like finding tree stand locations for the next year because if you got good cover during shed season when there ain't a leaf on a tree, more than likely you're probably gonna have good cover when it is deer season in October and there are leaves on the tree.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Exactly. And we Lane and I both look for tree stand spots because we're both terrible at finding sheds. So we usually we're doing more scouting than looking for sheds.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, every shed I find on accident.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I usually find it turkey hunting or mushroom hunting, not when I'm actually shed hunting. Last year I walked like 20 miles shed hunting, and I found like four sheds. Actually, three of those my dog found. I only found one of them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think I found one shed last year. I shed hunted two days. I found one during turkey season, but I was gonna say I was shed hunting during turkey season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that that's one of my goals this year to get better at it. I've been training my dog, which she's not a lab or anything. She's a blue healer, but she's smarter in hell. And la the reason I did is last year she was chewing on she jumped up on a table and grabbed a shed off of it. And I'm like, well, she likes sheds. So I I kind of trained her, and I mean she's not gonna win no shed dog trials, but she and she found some out there last year, so actually the shed I found last year is uh sitting right behind us right now.
SPEAKER_01What is it, a little uh little four point?
SPEAKER_02A little 30-inch shed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I when I brought it in the house, the dogs are absolutely terrified of it.
SPEAKER_02That's how she was in the beginning, and then last year she kind of started taking a liking to it, and she's seven years old now, and it took her a while to finally start liking deer antlers, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think uh our my dogs would be too terrified to shed hunt.
SPEAKER_02You got a GSP too. You I keep telling you you need a trainer.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. She'd be out there looking for all the birds.
SPEAKER_02She's a pretty smart dog, well behaved.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, yeah, she's awesome on the behavior part. She uh listens, she can do sit, do backflip, whatever. Whatever you want her to do, she's not gonna do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she's gonna do the opposite.
SPEAKER_01Oh, shoot. But yeah, I I think right now food is very important. I think a lot of these deer are coming back to green. Um I know Bo had a good hunt last night. We'll get into it in the next episode, but I think they're going back to food and and especially this warming up. I think if you get warm days, you know, in the middle of December, they're gonna hit green pretty hard. Yeah. Just from what I've seen.
SPEAKER_02And they always talk about that second rut, too, you know, maybe a late doe or a young fawn, and I saw some of that this morning on my cameras. What's today, the sixth, seventh?
SPEAKER_01Might be the eighth.
SPEAKER_02Today's the eighth. We're recording this, and I had a couple younger bucks chasing around some does, and I know Bo said he saw some last night too. Just they're out checking, seeing if there's anything left out there for them.
SPEAKER_01So uh Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's that time of year, so I mean, they're uh definitely going to be recouping, and the deer are gonna be coming back to a lot of your home farms, you know, that's been gone through November and December or November, they're gonna be starting to return back in December. I've seen a lot.
SPEAKER_02Yep. And we're getting close to getting ready to do our dough season or our little dough frenzy too. That I went and tore down some sets uh kind of in the middle of the woods this past week when I was checking cameras and moved them back over some food sources, so we're gonna get ready for that doe frenzy here at the end of the month.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I'm hoping a boat can come back up with us. I think we're we're doing the last weekend of deer season. Yep. Um ring our bows, kind of have a deer hunting camp.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01I've honestly gonna try to turn this into a tradition. I think I think it'd be cool to, you know, I think we lose a lot of the hunting camp vibes. Um, a lot of people don't do that kind of stuff anymore. So it'd be cool, especially later in the year, to regroup one last two Rob for the season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Lane was talking about bringing a tin up. I'm like, I don't know if you you know this, but it's pretty cold in January. So I uh informed him there's a camper there that he can stay in and have that's like legit deer back or deer camp vibes. It's like an old 1980s, might have a mouse run over it.
SPEAKER_01Put a wood stove in.
SPEAKER_02Uh it's got a uh, oh, what are those called? The little coil heaters, you know what I'm talking about? Little propane one, no, no, it's electric, like a little space heater. Oh, okay. Yeah, I got you. Yeah, you might catch it on fire while you're in there, but uh you'll keep warm. Yeah, exactly. The mice cuddling up next to you might keep you a little warm too.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, I'm a big mice fan. It's funny, uh a quick little story. In our pig barns, do you have a lot of mice in your pig barn?
SPEAKER_02No, I don't. I got a bunch of cats.
SPEAKER_01We got my salad walzdo, and there's a few years ago. We caught one and it was it was colored up like a dairy cattle. Like, oh gosh, it was inbred as could be.
SPEAKER_02I had uh the same thing. I didn't know I always thought they were all brown or whatever. Yeah, but uh do you remember that buck I shot three or four years ago and I did the just burying the ground at a European mountain? Well, when I went and uh dug them up, there's mice living in the school and they're the all colored up ones. Really? Yeah, there's like four of them in there.
SPEAKER_01I wonder if we can sh sell them to show mine. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I don't plan on it.
SPEAKER_01Online mouse. Yeah, it's definitely fun. Um definitely getting in the season, and I mean, it's kind of almost transitioning, you know, what's being tagged out, we gotta think of next year already.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I know if you follow us on Instagram, I made that post about I moved a lot of the cameras I moved around were to Target. There there's four deer I think are gonna make big jumps this next year. They're four years old this year, and I one of them I was hunting until I saw him again. You know, I've talked about it on the podcast before the buck I called Poetry, and then you know, in velvet he looked incredible. Yes. Then he shed, and I mean, shed more than I'd ever seen a buck, and he got real spindly looking. Velvet deer can fool you. Yeah, he fooled me more than any deer I ever had in the past. So I'm excited. I kind of moved some cameras around. He's in a weird part of the farm that not a whole lot of other deer are on, so kind of move cameras around just for him. And there's a couple other deer I'm excited to see next year.
SPEAKER_01So trying to get the plans together, make a good jump next year. I uh the really the shooters that we've been hunting, they're all still alive besides, of course, the one I killed, which I wouldn't even call that a deer I was really targeting. So they're still up and moving and alive. So I mean, next I'm so pumped for next year. I was excited for this year, but I think next year's gonna be real good as long as the weather and everything play out right.
SPEAKER_02I am too, and and it can't the weather can't be worse than what we had this year.
SPEAKER_01No, it was so warm. It was a warm November, and we finally are just getting average temperatures here in December.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Lane, you're uh we got we got some deer hunting on the TV while we were here. I don't know who we're watching. I've never seen this guy before, but I was I'm not a big saddle fan, but he did just shoot a pretty good deer out of the pretty good deer out of the saddle. Now he looked very uncomfortable while he was doing it, but well, we have been discussing.
SPEAKER_01I think I'm gonna prove a point. They don't think I can hunt out of a saddle.
SPEAKER_02Actually, he did not shoot the deer, he completely missed.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, I don't think me and Mason don't think Lane can hunt out of a saddle. I just think it's a little more sketchy than it makes me mind.
SPEAKER_02I feel I'd feel safer if he wasn't in the saddle.
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, I I don't know. I just want to try one out. If they make one my size, I'm not sure if they do. I'm actually pretty um He did shoot it. He did shoot it actually. He didn't miss it. There's an arrow in him.
SPEAKER_02That was a terrible shot, probably because he was in the saddle. He's got that freaking strap right in the way of his bow and had to miss.
SPEAKER_01That does kind of look like a pain. I to actually like get one draw back, which I've never done it, you know, so I can't really sit here and have an opinion on it, but see all the videos I watch, it's all about getting your setup right for you.
SPEAKER_00I mean, everybody talks about that. If you see one guy doing it the same way, you can't hunt that way. You've got it, you've got to do it what works for you. Well, it's the fletching too.
SPEAKER_01It's different. I mean, I I'm a real I love my lock-ons. I just feel there's a lot of fur you know, freedom in it, but then you hear guys say they actually feel safer in a saddle because they're always attached to the tree. And I I do see that point of it.
SPEAKER_02I think was it Kurt Geier this week said that like there's tension on it, so you feel attached. Like yeah, there's times you feel like you're the wind blows and you're you're like, oh I'm I could fall out right now. It's like when you have that dream and you fall off the cliff, it's the same feeling you have.
SPEAKER_01Man, I hung a set this year and it was on a hillside, so you know you hang the set and you look behind you and you're like 15 feet off the ground. Yeah, and you look in front of you and you're like 45 feet off the ground, and you're like, man, it it does feel like a little uneasy when I look down. Like if I'm going to fall out of this thing, I need to jump backwards.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. I I told Lane this year I I thought I was really gonna get into the mobile hunting game, but uh I went and hung all these stands to mobile hunt out of. Or didn't hang them. As I'd carry them in with me and hang them. I'm like, this just needs to be a permanent set. Yeah. So I'd leave it up there in the tree and then order a new stand. And then I did that four times this year, and then I decided, eh, I got enough stands. I'm not a mobile hunter anymore.
SPEAKER_01So well, I got two mobile, and actually that week on vacation, I I done the mobile game hardcore, and it wore me out, you know. It's not fun. It's not, you know, it ain't. There's a lot of benefit to it, but I think you can overthink it too because you can want to move way too much instead of hunting a spot like it's a good spot. Your action just wasn't good for the night. You want to move and you probably shouldn't move.
SPEAKER_02I'm definitely gonna keep a couple mobile sets for next year, but I'm just gonna plan on doing more. Especially, you know, you get off work early one day and you need to just get out there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02If you want to hang a tree stand, carrying it in, hang whatever. It takes 15 minutes to hang one, but you're gonna be slower walking in with that thing on your back. It's gonna take you an extra half hour that you could have just climbed up a yeah.
SPEAKER_01Or then preset stands are real are super nice for that. And you know, I I love my mobile stands, but you know, some of them aren't the most comfortable to make an all-day sit. If you got a big comfy lock on the preset, you could sit about all day in one of those. Yeah, exactly. So there's pluses and minuses, I guess, to all of it. I'd like to see more, you know. Bo is doing a climber this year. Yeah. This is his first year in the climber, and I think you do you like your climber?
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, I I like the climber a lot, but I I have to agree with Mason here. I mean, mobile hunt for me, it's either goes one or two ways. It's I walk in, I find a perfect tree right where I was thinking, you know, when I'm kind of pregaming on on X or whatever, or I walk in and I stand there for 20 minutes looking around for a perfect tree, and I am just lost, and I feel like I'm never gonna get set down because I can't find the perfect setup. So I don't know, it's it's it's going one or two, but I really do like the the freedom and the mobility of it and being able to maybe get on a new piece that you haven't seen before. So I always have to be careful because I I got a little antsy this year and and started doing too much mobile, and like Lena just said, if you find a good place and it actually wasn't great that night, sticking it out and and maybe even just leaving your climber there, leaving your mobile set there, and come hunting again.
SPEAKER_02So Bo was just bringing up before we started these saddle climbers. I just saw them on uh I don't TikTok or somewhere. I thought it was a joke until he just said it was an actual real thing. So as I just said, I'm not a big fan of saddles to begin with, and then that to me that just looks like a meme. It looks like April 1st, April 4th.
SPEAKER_01I'm probably just getting my regular climb or finding on the saddle.
SPEAKER_00It looks like a pain. I don't know. I don't know. I'm like you said earlier, I'm big on the fact that if I can feel sometimes when I'm setting a lock on, I like to lean back into my harness and feel like I'm really attached. Because I like last night I have 20 deer around me, and I go to step and I almost step off the platform and I'm like, oh. Alright, I got a question for both of you. When you're in your lock-on, do you sit more or do you stand more? I stand the whole time. Yeah, I've I I used to always think I need to sit still and just rotate my head and look around, and I've lost not seen so many deer this year until they're right below me because I haven't been looking around. And like I'm not saying up jumping around, but standing up where I can easily take a step and look full 360 degrees around me. I mean And the main reason is I did all the self-filming this year, and I felt it's kind of a pain.
SPEAKER_02You the way I set up my camera arm, I never could really sit down because I put it square in my back. That way, if I needed to get around the other side of me to film, it was easier. I could do it in between me and the tree, you know what I mean? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, I'm a leaner. Like I like I like leaning back towards the Yeah, I I'm always leaning on the tree. Yeah. And then sometimes I'll put my arm up and stretch a little bit, you know. I like to get comfortable when I'm standing, but at the same time, like my knees feel like they're halfway bad all the time. So I can stand for about 30 and I'll sit for 10, and I'll stand for like another 30 and sit for another five or ten.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm just one of the most impatient guys in the world, and setting and setting down the whole time and being still is so hard for me. So if I feel like I can lean up and have some tension against my harness where I'm I feel like I'm doing something, but I'm still staying as steady as possible, it's a game changer for me. I could be there all day.
SPEAKER_02I there is there was a couple hanging hunts I had this year. I did sit the first 30 minutes because blind seemed my property. There's a lot of hills and hollers you gotta go up and down. So it it you get wore out pretty quick, especially carrying 20 pounds of sticks and stuff on your back.
SPEAKER_01I hate sweating, and it's like you're always gonna feel like you're gonna sweat when you're hanging one.
SPEAKER_02That's why you gotta be Cameron Haynes, lift, run, shoot every day so you don't sweat when you get to the real thing, Lane.
SPEAKER_01Drink Coke, eat cheeseburgers and uh French fries. I need to get into more Cameron Haynes and put ranch on his breakfast this morning. All right, not the entire breakfast, just the home fries.
SPEAKER_02The whole thing was like a skillet. You mixed the whole thing together.
SPEAKER_01I like ranch.
SPEAKER_02And then Bo, 10.30 in the morning orders chicken tenders and cottage cheese. I've never been more appalled in my life.
SPEAKER_00I just want to say I got the most protein out of anybody sitting at that table.
SPEAKER_02So I I we I had a sausage pack. We drank beer last night. I was looking for calories and grease.
SPEAKER_00Hey, there's about 3.5 grams of protein in a beer, too, so you did all right. There we go. Holly, no wonder Bo lost 100.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I was drinking Angry Orchard, that's a lot of sugar. I don't count. I don't think there's any protein in there.
SPEAKER_01That's why I drink so much beer, is because of the protein in it. See, that's I agree. That's a good stance. Yeah. Bush light at that.
SPEAKER_0275% water.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Hydration.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That that's kind of where we're at here at the beginning of December. We're both looking in and getting the new bows. That's all I'm watching right now. I look at John Dudley or Levi uh Morgan's YouTube and just watch all the new bows because to me they're the two for each brand, the the two that tell you the most about the bows, crispy as well with the Matthews, just trying to decide what to do. I'm not, I have to be on this team, that team. I just want the best bow that I possibly can get.
SPEAKER_01The next thing is like we ain't gotta get the same bow, you know. We ain't got a bow sponsor yet. It'd be nice to get one.
SPEAKER_02I don't know about the yet word. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we might never get one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, our our 60 listeners. I doubt one of them works for a bow company. We'll be alright.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, well, and I think I'd like to kill a doe, you know. I'd like to kill a couple does for the end of the season. I've been busy last week pigging furrowing season, so we got the pigs right now, but they're on the ground, so now hopefully we'll be able to get back in the tree stand a little more.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01I'd like to film, that's one of my goals. I want to film a kill on a doe.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Uh I told Lane one of my goal too is I think I've said it on here, I really like the hunting puppet guys. I don't hunt puppet lamb, but I think it's cool hunting bucks from the ground and doing all that. So I'm gonna try to shoot a doe off the ground. Oh, that'd be cool this month, too. It'd be pretty cool. Instead of my trad bow idea I had, because uh if you want an update from the last podcast, uh, like I said, I was I was about hitting the vitals every one out of ten. I'm up two out of ten now. So we're improvements. We're getting there. About about ten years, I'll be able to shoot that thing. Oh did you look at those bows at the bow shop yesterday? Yes, the trad bows. Oh my god, they're expensive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that one was 500.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's the only one I looked at. I don't know if the other ones are cheaper, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00After that podcast, I got online and was like, I want to do this. You know, I that would be a cool end of the season, especially if you tag out on your buck. Yeah, season, you go kill a couple does with one. That'd be a great time. I started looking at I better, I better try to find just fine one, you know, maybe a lucky garage seller or something. Yeah, that's I just went outside and got a stick and I started whittling it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You're back to your native American roots there.
SPEAKER_01I'm like a quarter Cherokee.
SPEAKER_02Oh man. Well, that's gonna wrap it up for this episode. Sorry it's a little shorter, but we didn't have a kill episode, and we're trying to knock out a couple of them here for you. But uh we got one more we're gonna record today with Bo, and then we're gonna go get uh Nate Caldwell talked into doing his two bucks.
SPEAKER_01I'm just gonna say that's not gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02It's gonna happen. We're gonna go to him, he's gonna knock it out.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_02Well, uh, you listen to the Whitetail Realm. I'm Lane, or I'm Mason. I'm Lane. Uh, you guys stay safe out there.
