[00:00:00] Ryan Mellon: Hey guys, welcome to another episode of Digital Nomad Nation, Nomad Notes edition, where I give you guys a little peek into what it's like living here in Bali on a digital nomad visa and what's going on. So yeah, recently I was able to go to Asia's number one beach club, which is called Savaya. ~And ~it was really awesome.

[00:00:20] Ryan Mellon: ~Um, ~it's such a beautiful place. It's in Uluwatu, which is in the Southern part of Bali. ~Kind of more, uh, ~Uluwatu is ~a very, it's ~a surf Mecca. That has been a surf Mecca since the 70s, ~but ~everything's up on a bluff ~up ~on a cliff above the water, and it's just absolutely amazing. ~And Savaya is a very high end nightclub or beach club.~

[00:00:37] Ryan Mellon: Savaya is a very high end beach club. ~Um, and they have in. overlooking the water and several bars that are just ~overlooking ~the, the ocean, ~the Indian ocean from 500 feet above. ~And ~you can see the beach below. ~Um, ~they had a famous DJ ~there, ~Marco Corolla. I went with some friends ~from, uh, that ~I met in one of the coworking spaces in Seminyak and yeah, it was just a very awesome time.

[00:00:54] Ryan Mellon: ~Uh, ~definitely on the higher end of places that I've been ~in. Um, ~In Bali, it's a little bit of a, [00:01:00] you know, different crowd, a little bit, a little bit pretentious, in my opinion, ~a little high, a little too high end for me, ~but the views ~and ~the music and the, the, the venue itself was just really cool. ~Um, ~definitely a good experience to at least check out once.

[00:01:13] Ryan Mellon: So I thought that was a very ~cool. ~Cool weekend. ~Um, ~and really enjoyed my time there at Savaya. So if you're in Uluwatu and you're looking to, ~uh, ~get some good DJ music ~and, ~and see some amazing views, Savaya is definitely one to check out. ~The other thing is, is ~I've been looking at condos and villas. ~Uh, ~they kind of use those words.

[00:01:34] Ryan Mellon: Together here, everything's called a villa, but ~in, ~as far as the U S is concerned in real estate, I would call it more of a condo, like an apartment, ~um, ~around a pool, ~um, ~that is for sale. So I've been looking at some real estate to buy, and I just started looking. ~Um, ~it's a little bit more complicated than.

[00:01:51] Ryan Mellon: Buying real estate in the U S you need to pay all cash. ~Um, and ~generally ~there's like, uh, ~you lease the land for so many years, usually 25 to [00:02:00] 35 years. ~And ~that's designed so that the Balinese people keep control of the land, which is great because if. All foreigners could buy out Bali. This place would be ruined pretty quickly.

[00:02:12] Ryan Mellon: It would be all hotels and resorts and villas and it would be so expensive and you would just really lose the culture of the local Balinese people. So I do like the way they structured it. It's a lot to learn. It's a big learning curve, but a little bit about this, this condo that I looked at is one bedroom on the second floor with a balcony overlooking a beautiful pool.

[00:02:33] Ryan Mellon: It's only one year old. It was built. Last year, and it's a good opportunity. So the purchase price is about 140, 000 for a brand new one bedroom apartment, fully furnished with an amazing pool. It's ~also ~already on Airbnb. It's ready to be, ~uh, ~rented out and ~it's fully, ~there's staff there to fully manage the common areas and fully manage the, the condo when I'm not there.

[00:02:59] Ryan Mellon: If I [00:03:00] were to. ~You know, ~live here six months and rent it out for the rest. So very cool opportunity. ~Um, ~it's 10 minutes from, ~uh, ~one of the beaches in Uluwatu called Thomas Beach. It's not as popular of a beach, but I love that. I love that you can, ~uh, ~walk down the street and then through a little bit of the jungle, and then you walk down these stairs past a little temple and at the bottom, it's just a small white sand beach, not too many people there.

[00:03:26] Ryan Mellon: And so I really love that about that. I'm going to continue to keep looking at real estate as, ~um, ~can ever buy the first house you, you see. ~Um, ~and so, yeah, looking at other places and really getting my head around just how everything works and ~how, ~how it would need to, to make happen to see if I really do want to own a piece of Bali here.

[00:03:47] Ryan Mellon: So, ~uh, ~very excited to see it. I'll post a video on Instagram of that. Maybe a real, ~uh, ~showing that, that condo it's beautiful. So check that out ~and yeah, ~I was, ~uh, ~surprised to go get a haircut the other day and [00:04:00] walked in and I was like, wow, am I in a bar or a liquor store? ~Um, and so it's, uh, ~this is a Nusa Dua where I am now.

[00:04:06] Ryan Mellon: It's a more high end place, lots of resorts, beach resorts. I have family visiting. So they're at a beach resort. ~Um, and ~I walked in and, um, it's just full of like liquor bottles and they have a bar there, but then they also have, ~um, ~barbers there and people are just having drinks and getting their hair cut.

[00:04:23] Ryan Mellon: ~And, uh, ~I thought it was a pretty cool concept. It's definitely something that I've not seen before. ~Um, ~it was very ~like ~boutique feeling and, ~uh, ~very chill. ~So ~that was pretty cool. ~Uh, and ~as far as wins for this week, I got a couple of new, ~uh, ~one on one coaching clients, helping them become digital nomads and location independence, which always excites me.

[00:04:43] Ryan Mellon: And I get amped about ~because ~helping other people live the life that I'm living, it's just absolutely amazing. And, ~uh, ~it's very rewarding. So, ~uh, ~that's been my, ~uh, ~highlights of the week and, uh, just loving the weather here in Bali. It's about ~88. degrees ~85 to 88 degrees and sunny most days it is the rainy season [00:05:00] so it does rain ~um ~some days or ~You know ~a couple hours during the morning and then the sun comes out.

[00:05:06] Ryan Mellon: It's not too bad. I love the weather here I love that i'm not in the cold in the u. s ~And so yeah, ~I hope you guys have a great week and i'll catch you on the next one
