All right, hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Pass Pirate Pay,
the movie discussion show with the delightful three tiered rating system that
may most people don't know this. Two thirds of which are 100% legal.
I guess that's true. My name is Dan.
Technically true. That's, I mean, who could argue? My name is Ken. I am your host,
alongside my co-host Andy. Hello. How are you doing today, Andy?
I'm doing pretty good. How are you doing, Ken? Excellent. Excellent. Are you ready for a
terrifying episode? This is our Halloween special. That's right. That's right. Today, yes.
We will be discussing terrifying one, two, and three. That's correct. The trilogy of movies about
art, the killer clown. We're going to see what we think about these movies. A quick warning
before we start as always, this is a discussion show and we are not going to be concerned with
spoilers. If you do not want to have the terrifying movies spoiled for you, maybe you should not
listen at this point until after you've seen them. What do you say? We just jump right into it.
All right. Chronological. We're going to start with terrifying number one, the original
terrifying. These movies are all directed by, written and directed by Damien Leon.
Yeah, like I said, they all star art the clown who murders people and is a clown.
So first movie, I guess we don't have to spoiler alert anymore.
So the first movie begins with a television show. There's a reporter. She is interviewing
who is identified as the lone survivor of the killing spree of art the clown.
Eventually, we cut and we see this woman's face and it is mangled beyond almost all recognition.
Real fucked up. Yeah, totally messed up. Scary too. I thought that was a scariest part of the movie.
Yeah, and it sets the tone for the movie pretty well too because it's low-budget effects,
practical effects, and the makeup effects on this woman look creepy as all hell.
So this woman is interviewed and then afterwards we see the reporter in her dressing room talking
on the phone and making fun of this woman's disfigured face. And then the woman comes in and
basically uses her hands to smash the face of the reporter.
And eat, right? Does she eat? Yeah, she is eating her also. And then we're often running.
And then so while this is happening, we see art the clown getting himself prepared for his big night,
I guess. Yeah, Halloween night. He is sharpening all kinds of blades. There are blades everywhere.
And he's also clowning himself up. He's putting on his makeup. He's got a ridiculous tiny hat
that he wears, you know, like a miniature top hat that just he's got a strap that goes underneath
his chin to keep it the perch jauntily on the top of his head. So he's ready to go out. And Black
Dot on the end of his nose. Black Dot on the end of his nose. And he wears, he's going to keep all
these blades. Well, he can't put them on his person because his clown suit doesn't have that many
pockets. So he's got a hefty bag. He slings over his shoulder. He's a trash bag around. And
just a scary clown with a trash bag. And it's got all kinds of blades, which I don't know how it holds
all that metal right trash bags aren't that strong? Yeah, exactly. These blades movie magic.
Right. The blades, the blades might be puncturing through the trash bag where this real, but
we're not even going to worry about that. No, no. So the story begins. They're these two young women.
They've been out clubbing all night and they're both drunk and they're discussing that neither of them
were able to drive home. Uh-huh. So they're going to get some food. And while they're standing by their
car, they see art with his with his hefty bag and he's staring at him at them. And one of them is like
this is a really creepy clown in the other ones like, Oh, that's hilarious. Uh-huh. So then they go to
this pizza place to get some food. And as they're in the pizza place, art is there again. And he sits
down at a booth across from them. And he's just staring intently at them. So the one woman is terrified.
And the other one, she's, I guess she's a little drunker and she's a little more loosey goosey
having fun. She's, she's going to take some selfies with art with art. Yeah. So she takes some selfies.
She's smiling. She's making duck face and doing all the selfie stuff and art is just glaring. He's
just totally stone face and glaring if she's taking these pictures. And then surprisingly,
they're allowed to leave the pizza place. So they leave. Yeah. And art goes into the bathroom and
we see the guys in the pizza place and they're and there something happens and they're totally
disgusted. Right. And what is and they are immediately going to art and we like, you mother
fucker, get the fuck out of my piece of place, whatever they throw them out. Yeah. And we eventually see that
art has made an entire mess of the bathroom, including writing his name in shit on the bathroom mirror.
So the pizza guys are, you know, justifiably upset by this. But it doesn't last for long because,
you know, then they're both dead. And the way we see this, one of the guys we see what we get to see
is art has decapitated one of the pizza guys and turned his head into a jackal lantern. Yeah.
Essentially, like he takes some fourth of July sparklers and puts them inside his skull and they're
glowing out where his eyeballs used to be. And then while as the other guy sees this, he is screaming
and then art dispatched him to and then art goes out to go kill the two women. And then the movie
becomes an cat and mouse kind of thing with one of the two women who eventually calls her sister to
come rescue them because art has slashed their car tire. So she needs someone to come help them.
Right. And art is chasing them down and there are some people working in this abandoned warehouse
where they eventually wind up and art is just stalking and killing everybody. Yeah. So I want to start
with with my hot take, uh, okay, episode. Okay. And my hot take is art is an excellent clown.
I okay, I think so too. He is genuinely funny. I think he is the Marcel Marceau of Gen Z.
Yes. And by yeah, we he's called a clown, but he's really a mime. It's a mime. He's he's
entirely dressed and makeuped in black and purple. And he never speaks. Never makes a sound.
But like genuinely funny. And that is what makes this movie so incredibly unsettling to me.
The fact that art is just a really excellent clown. Like they're the scene in the beginning when
they're in the pizza place and the two women are staring or are like looking at him and regarding
him. He's like making these goofy faces. Yeah. And like he does that a lot. And it's just really funny.
And it's just like and and then there will be outrageous, wily coyote style violence happening. And
he's like hysterically silently laughing. Yep. Yep. Yeah. So the most iconic scene from this movie
and the thing that probably allowed them to make all of the sequels, uh, the thing that gets everybody
talking is at one point art captures one of the women. Right. And he hangs her upside down by her
legs spread apart and then takes a hacksaw and saws her in half in front of her friend in front of
her friend while her friend is tied up in a chair. Yeah. And he saws her in half vagina first.
Right. Like he takes that and just biceps her. Yeah. And it's gross. Like but this obviously is the
thing where everybody sees this movie and like, oh my god, you got to see this. The guy chops is so
saws this woman in half from a giant down. But the thing that made it really funny for me. Uh, it's
that one of the two women that was taking the selfies with art. Yeah. And then after he cuts her
almost all the way in half where her skull is like the only thing that is holding the two halves of
her body together. There's like a little scut so she's forming a V. Yeah. Then art takes his phone
and he like starts taking selfies with this woman's foot. And while her friend is sitting there screaming
in his chair tied down and it's like, oh my god, this guy is fucked up. So fucked up.
He's got this, he's taking the selfies and he's doing like people are afraid of clowns,
right? This is a thing that is and so scary clowns is a thing in society. Uh-huh. For me,
art just blows penny wise way out of the water. You know, like I love it. I think it's one of
it's my favorite Stephen King book. And you know, it's the Tim Curry version, not so much scary as
fun, uh, with the, uh, with his name Bill Scars guard version is scary, but I think art is way scarier.
Like really? He's just so fucked up. I thought the absolute opposite. Really? I thought art was,
I thought I actually thought the whole movie was just plain goofy. Really? Yeah. I thought it was
void of any real plot. I didn't understand why art was doing this. Wow. Just a murderous clown. And
because there was no connection to characters or art really, I didn't care about if anybody got
killed or how they got killed. It was just a bunch of practical goofy gore. Interesting. I see,
I thought that this movie was legitimately scary. I thought I did. Yeah. I thought like the gory
stuff is not what works for me, which is generally the way I am with movies. Like yeah, this movie has
a lot of gore. Obviously, that's, that's what it is, but it's also like really good at building tension.
There's a lot of stuff where art is stalking people. Uh-huh. And it's just like, and like, I don't care
that there's no reason. And I'm not really interested in who these people are. It's just like, because
he's so crazy and so unpredictable, I find the scenes where he is off screen just stalking people.
Really scary because it's like, what the hell is this guy going to do next? You know, like, I
think that's the whole game of the movie. Yeah. Actually, all the movies like the scene right before
he bisects the woman with the hacksaw. Her friend is tied up in the chair and art takes the hacksaw
and he's like menacing her with it. Yeah. And I thought that shit was just like creepy as all hell.
I'm just like, what the fuck is this guy going to do? And then when the friend is revealing, it's like,
okay, and then it's going to get bloody and it's just, and that's, that stuff is not as important to me.
But the tension, I thought, was really good. Combined with the generally, just genuinely weird shit that
he does. Like at one point, he is on a tricycle riding around in circles, like, bringing the little bell.
Yeah. With this is crazy. And then there's a weird woman with a doll that she keeps saying is her
child. I have no idea what that's about. But she like, she goes up to art and she's like, oh,
you just need a mother's touch and she like starts stroking his face and it's like, is this going
to be a touching moment? No, whatever. The next time we see her art is wearing her face and her tits,
like Hannibal Lecter. He's just wearing, he's naked except for this woman's face and torso.
We're like, what the fuck? Yeah. And then, so the, the, the, by section is the iconic scene in this
movie for everyone else. The iconic scene of this movie for me is he's chasing the, the, the first
woman's sister shows up and art is chasing after her and she runs into this building and there's
like a tiny opening in the, in the door, something where, where he can get into her and he plunges his
hand through the, through the door through this little opening and it's like, oh, God, what's he going
to do? But he's got this bicycle horn and he just starts talking in her face. And it's just like, it was,
I, I could not stop laughing. I thought it was the funniest thing ever because it was so unexpected
because the scene up until that point, they're like several minutes before that point, we're so tense.
And then like the movie really built the tension that when the release comes in the form of this
ridiculous joke, I, I thought it was absolutely awesome. Okay. But yeah, so that's basically what the
movie is. Art runs around, stalks people eventually. Yeah. To me, to me, the, the movie was, there was no
plot except that we put art in a creepy building and feed him victims. Yeah. Yeah. And it's a typical
horror movie where people act really stupidly, you know, like people just keep instead of, they're in this
town and instead of running out into more open streets, everybody just keeps running into creepy
buildings or down alleyways. I was like, all right, this is real stupid. One time the woman ran out of
the creepy building and into another part of the creepy building. Right. Exactly. It's just like, why is
that keep out? Right. It's just why is everybody behaving so stupidly? Well, you're right. It's because
they need to be fed to art. That is, that is what we're doing here. That is victims that need to be
fed to art. And the whole thing is like, how is he going to do it next? And like when I realized
that was it, when I realized that that this is what this is. Yeah. Like you're not, we're not going
to get any background. We're not, because like when it, there was parts of it that kind of reminded me
of Nightmare and Elm Street. Yeah. Especially in the later films. Yeah. But a Nightmare and Elm Street,
like Freddie had motive. Right. And the kids had flaws and strengths and they weren't completely
powerless victims. Right. They figured out how to beat him. And I don't, I mean, they end up beating
art, I guess, but well, yes, no, they don't. Yeah. So let's talk about how it ends. Okay. So there's
the final woman she is running away from art. And then eventually somebody has managed to call the cops
and then these two cops show up what an art is like eating this woman's face. And it's the woman
that we see at the beginning of the movie. Yeah. That's how it kind of, yeah. That's how she has
gotten to have her disfigured face because art is eating her. And he's, he's bent over her as the two
cops are there. And the cops appointing their guns at him is like, hey, stop. Freeze, put your hands
up, whatever. And then art takes a gun that he has stashed on his person and blows his own head off.
So yeah, he doesn't, no one figures out how to get art. He just gets himself. Yeah. And he's got a plan,
I think. Yeah. I guess. So the ending of this movie is totally like what the fuck? Like for the
entirety of the movie, there's nothing supernatural happening, right? Art is just a guy. He's just a
crazy clown killing people. Yeah. They even kind of established out at the beginning with him putting
on the makeup and everything. Yeah. Exactly. He's just a lunatic. He's just a person, right? But then
the end of the movie comes and it we're in this morgue. And the corner is there. And he looking at
arts body with his skull blown off or with giant hole in the back of his head. And it's like,
or and we're like, why is this movie still going on? But then all of a sudden art just sits up. And
now this guy at the corner is getting murdered by arts body with no brain in his head. Yeah. And
it was just like, what the fuck is this guy? This is not the movie that I've been watching this
entire time. Right. Why is this happening? And we don't really get an answer for that one
until the next movie. Right. So I guess Damien Leon had a plan. He thought he was going to. I don't
think so. No, no, I don't think so. I don't think there was ever a plan. I think this was just a
series of scenes that sounded cool to him. I agree with that. But then why insert this weird
supernatural thing where art is because he thought that he wanted to be the door open for a sequel,
just in case I guess I don't think there's any part of this creator director thing who thought
this was going to be a success. Yeah. I wouldn't have thought so either. But I think that he was just
going to make it the movie he wanted to make. Yeah. You know, but I don't know the the only way the
ending makes sense to me is if he was planning on making a sequel. That's the only thing that that's
the only way in the ending doesn't make sense to be either way, but the only way I can get inside
this guy's head and to figure out what the hell he was thinking by ending the movie this way is
because he's like, okay, I'm going to make a sequel and in the sequel, we're going to have super
natural shit. Yeah. Actually, I don't think it was I think, you know, what if this is a hit? We
should make we should make that we should have a door for a sequel. Right. I don't think it was
thought out as far as you think. Yeah. I don't know. To me, it like it actually I know this what or I
don't know for sure, but I assume it seemed to me like after he made the first one and people started
talking about it, he tacked on this ending. That's what it seemed like to me because the ending felt
like a totally different movie. That could have happened. I don't think so, but that's what it seemed
like to me because it felt like a totally different movie to me. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So is that
is that the end? That's it. That's my review. That's what I have to say about terror. I think I know
where you're going, but is it past pirate pay for Kent? All right. This movie, shockingly to me,
is pay. Wow. Yeah. You know what it is for me? What is it? It's a pass. Yeah. It sounded like it.
It's a pass. I did not like it very much. Yeah. Yeah. I was really surprised. I really was. I
was surprised. I didn't like it. Yeah. Because it seems kind of like a thing that I would dig. Yeah.
Like I said, the Gore, not really for me, but I felt like he had a real gift in this movie for
establishing tension. And that's what I love about horror movies. I love the thriller aspect of it.
Yeah. Which don't see. I love that like edge of your seat feeling where it's just like, oh my God.
What is going to happen? Hitchcock is good at that. Right. Jaws was good at that. Fantastic.
Exactly. And I thought this movie did that really well. And even though the Gore is not my thing,
I felt the movie was successful even without it or even despite it. Well, I'm glad you liked it.
I did. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. You didn't, but you know, I didn't hate it. Yeah.
I didn't hate it. And I could see the potential, which is why I was kind of excited to see the next movie.
Yeah.
All right, Ken. So we are moving on to the next movie. Yes. Let's get into
"Terifier 2". "Terifier Part 2". That's right. This is the second one. And so for the second one,
we pick up just where we left off. And we're in the morgue. Back in the same morgue.
Art has risen from the dead. And he's got no eyeball from where the bullet went through.
And he's got no brain from where the bullet went out. Right. He's got a small hole in front of his head
and a big one in the back of his head. Yeah. So he's killed the coroner. And well, he needs an eyeball.
So what's he going to do? Plucks out the coroner's eyeball, puts it back in his own head. Yeah.
He does this a lot throughout the course of the film. He does like to incorporate body parts.
He puts the spare parts, you know, that he needs. Right. This guy's not going to use. Exactly.
So yeah. And you know, he's like admiring the back of his head with the hole in it. And he's just generally
doing some goofy art stuff. And then he notices that his beautiful white and black clown suit is covered
in blood. So he does what any normal person would do. Cosen does some laundry. Do the laundry. So he
just goes to a laundromat. And while he's in the laundromat, he hallucinates a maybe, I don't know,
a small child, a clown, evil clown child, evil young girl clown, which when I saw this, I'm like,
okay, this movie is taking a cool approach to art that he has a partner now. Yeah. And she is
very creepy looking. Yes. He's real creepy. Like even more creepy looking than he is. Yeah. Very,
very creepy looking. And she's always got this like gigantic smile on her face. That's really
unsettling looking. But at one point, like while he's interacting with this girl, the camera switches
and you just see him interacting with no one, right? Which I guess is supposed to tell us that this is
all inside of his brain. But like who the fuck even knows? Like I it's it's very unclear. I don't
really know what's going on. So he's in the he's in the laundromat interacting with this girl doing
his laundry. Yeah. And at one point, they're like looking at his his new found eyeball and they're like
poking at it. And she pokes at it. And then he pokes at it. And he's got this look on the face. And he's
like, I know, right? This is very straight. Like this is really fucking weird, right? And he's like,
we have me too. You're right, look at that girl. And he's just he's saying it all. He's faces like,
I know. This is some weird shit. And there's a dude sleeping in the laundromat. And he's sleeping
through this entire thing. Yeah. But then art leaves the laundromat. And as he's leaving, we see
that there's a broom with a handle broken off. And then we find that the handle is driven through
the laundromat guy's skull. Nobody gets out alive at the crown. Or he's just he's just doing his thing.
But then we we switch gears and we go to this family. There's a single mother and her two kids
like older teenage daughter and a younger teenage son. And we spend a lot of time with this family.
Yeah. Like the young the girl is it's Halloween again. And the girl is preparing a Halloween costume
which is like some sort of battle angel preacher thing. I don't even know. She's making this costume.
Yeah. And the kid reveals that he wants to go for Halloween as art the clown. Because apparently
it's one year after the events of the first move. Right. We should we should do that. We should
timeline this too. Yeah. So yeah, there's one year after all of that happens. Yeah. And people,
his family is horrified like how can you want to this guy just murder people here? And now you're
going to go as him for Halloween. This is this is totally insane. But that's how we're connected to
the world of art. We know it's it's the same place roughly and one year later. And then the girl has
this dream about a children's television show called the clown cafe. Yeah. And they're singing this
like weird song. All the food is weird. Yeah. The food is funny. Yeah. The right. And then there's a lot
of like gross stuff with with like food is covered in maggots and or glass. And yeah. Yeah. There's
a kid eating breakfast cereal in the breakfast cereal has glass bits in it and and bugs coming out of it.
And it's all just really gross. And this is the part that reminded me of nightmare and illness. Yeah.
Because it's a dream sequence. And then while the dreams like she's dreaming this thing and then at
some point in the dream something catches fire. And then she wakes up and hard as I get just fire.
Flamethrower. Right. Exactly. Yeah. That's right. He's torching everybody in the in the dream.
And then she wakes up and her room is on fire. So apparently. Yeah. Art is now Freddy Krueger or
something. It's like I it's really weird. I don't really know what is happening here. But yeah.
And I did like to see though. I thought the scene was good. Yeah. I guess. It also started giving it
a little more depth to me. The movie had a little more depth. Yeah. Yeah. I mean it's like you said
with what was missing from the first one where it's character development. Yeah. We spend a lot of
time with this family. We do. And that's what I was going to say is you can I can see this guy's
filmmaking and writing getting better. Yeah. Yeah. You know. Wow. All right. Yeah. So you didn't see that.
No. I didn't like this. I did not. I did not at all. I found this character development to be
completely pointless. Oh my god. You like just the gore porn one. And you don't like the one that had
the actual story development. I like the tension building part. This one. This these characters.
You spend a lot of time with them and you learn that the family has a father who
has went mentally ill and then died in some horrible way. Uh-huh. And we're learning a lot about
these people, but it's they're totally uninteresting and they're played by bad actors. The mother of
this family in particular, I think is terrible. Oh, I think everyone's a bad actor. Oh yeah. Except
art. Well, everyone everyone else is a bad. And it and that's one thing they they look
and are acted like porn movies. Yeah. Yeah. So like the lighting on them is bad. Like it's it looks like
like student film porn movie. Yeah. Which is why I don't understand why we would want to get into
more character development. You're you're I think at least he's trying you're at least he's trying to
make a legitimate movie and not just a stupid gore. But you're putting things onto these people
that they're not equipped to handle like you don't think that when you're writing you think I'm
going to write the best story I can. And we'll work we'll work on that later. It strikes me that he
took all of the wrong lessons from the first movie. Like he has a total misunderstanding of what makes
a good horror movie where he the first movie works because of it's like jaws, right? You can't see the
shark. That's why jaws is so effective. You never get to see the shark at the beginning and it works
incredibly well. If Steven Spielberg had had the budget that he wanted and he gets to see the shark
the entire time. It probably would have been a hell of a lot less effective. So in this movie,
but he was by necessity wasn't it? Of course. And the first movie was by necessity also because he's
working on a shoestring budget. But then the first movie was a surprise cult hit and he has this budget
and he's just like, Oh, okay, people wipe me hacksawing a woman in half. Let's just double down on that
shit. Let's make this thing as gross as possible for as much of the time as we can. I don't I don't
think I don't think that was a lesson he learned. I think he did learn a good lesson. I think the opposite
of everything you said. Yeah, I think I I don't know if he pulled it off like fully. Yeah, I got
don't think that. I think there was still a lot of plot holes. I think there was I think the characters
needed something more. Yeah, but I think he was trying. Like I did care about the characters more.
I mean the last one. The thing is you you're probably right. He is trying, but he is not a writer who
is capable of doing these things. I don't think and is his cast are certainly not capable of doing them.
You're true on both counts. So the first movie the first movie is an hour and a half long.
Uh-huh. This movie is two and a half hours long. Oh, was it? What the fuck are we doing in this movie
for two and a half hours? It is. So here's what I here's what I think you're doing for two and a half
hours. You are adding all of the stuff you didn't have in the first one. Uh-huh. And you are
keeping all the stuff you had in the first one. Right. And all of the stuff that he added is
totally a failure for me. It does not work at all. I'm just I'm not the same thing for the second
movie. Like what what are we doing then? I sure. Yeah. Exactly. The thing. So you mentioned
a Nightmare on Elm Street and what this movie and the next one feel like to me is it's 1989
and we are making a Nightmare on Elm Street Part five Friday the 13th, seven, Halloween four, all of the
and as far as I know this is like widely considered to be the worst period in the history of horror
movies where all we're doing is rehashing all of this bullshit and all of what those things
all have in common with those movies all have in common is you have a villain, a monster that is
compelling and you have this, it's like, okay, people really like this murderer. Right. So we're
just going to bring this person back and keep doing the same things over and over again. And just
slightly tweak things in order to make them different. Yeah. Like this time Jason's in space. Right.
And every time you do it, it becomes less and less effective. Right. And it's not even that he's
doing the same thing and it's becoming less and less effective because that would be one thing.
But he's also becoming more and more cartoonish as it goes along. And I always thought he was cartoon.
Yeah. So there's one scene early in this movie where the girl, Sienna, she's the main character
of this movie. She's our final girl. She's the final girl, which oh my god. Again, total.
If the first movie was a cliche horror movie, this one is just leaning into it and she is, she's
Heather Langingcamp. She's Jamie Lee Curtis. She's the final girl. It's the trope. Yep.
But yeah, so there's a scene early on where she's in this Halloween store trying to get a costume.
And we see art. He's there and he's trying on glasses. He's trying on all these goofy sunglasses.
And she keeps looking over at him and he's like, he puts on a goofy purse sunglasses and he's like
doing jazz hands at her. And then at one point, he's got one of those like New Year's noise makers
that you blow into with the little paper that rolls out and he blows into it and you look over at him
and the guy, the clerk at the store is like, hey, you can't put that in your mouth. And he like,
he like spits it out and has this sheepish look on his face. And I was laughing. And it's early in
the movie and I hadn't checked out yet. And I'm thinking to myself, still got it. Art is still an
excellent clown. The look on his face when he spits out that noise maker. I was like, oh man,
so you're right. You're right. When I said everyone in this movie is a bad actor and you said
except for art. Yeah, absolutely right. He's definitely the star of the show. The guy playing
star of the show. He's like, yeah, he's still got it. It just feels like more doubling down, right?
Like the first movie with the woman being bisected. He's like, okay, well, what are we going to do
to top this? And there's a scene where one of Sienna's friends has an encounter with art. And he
comes up to her and he scouts her. He like, well, first of all, he's trick or treating.
Oh, yeah. And she doesn't like that he's a man. Right. Trick or treating. That's right. Yeah, he comes
up through her door trying to get candy. Yeah. Yeah. Then he breaks into her house. And he breaks into
her house through. Yeah. Yeah. So she's terrified. Art is in her house, right? Yeah. And then he goes
murder and he he scouts her. And he slices down her back, rips off her arm. And he grabs some bleach
and salt and salt. Yeah. And he pours bleach and salt into her wounds. Then he rips her face
off. He does rep or face. And it's just like this whole thing, I mean, it's less gruesome than
bisecting a woman vagina first, but it's way more elaborate. It's longer. Yeah. Way longer. And
I could just feel him. Leach and the salt. But that's what did it for me. I was like, this is this is
so funny. Yeah. I just like, I just like, oh, man, he's he I can hear Damien Leone thinking,
they like the first one, they got all of this. They're gonna do some shit here. And yeah, it's
it's it's but it's just more ridiculous. Yeah. It gets it's getting more and more. And my
favorite part of that, those when the mom came home. Yeah. And art is in the bed. And he's still
like working on her. Yeah. Still like cutting her up and stuff. And the mom is like,
the the the bloody half face girl goes, right, right. That's a thing in this movie.
And in these this movie and the next one, the sequels, people are alive way longer than they
should be. Oh, yeah. Because that's creepy. You're right. As art is fucking these people up in
various ways. You can just they're constantly like showing their faces still moving. And it's just
like there's no way this person would still be alive. But it's funny or gross or whatever. Yeah.
Yeah. To have them reacting to the shit that is going on. We're coming to the climax of this
movie. Okay. And as as though the cliches have not been poured on enough, we're going to end this
movie in a haunted house. And then abandoned carnival. There's an there's an abandoned carnival
in this town. And there's a haunted house. And it's called the terrifying. Yeah. Because you know,
that's the title of the movie. Yeah. That's a recycle finally circle back to that. Yep. And we learned
that Sienna's father before he died had given her this sword, which you know what? It might just be
a magic sword. Yeah. And it's the only thing that may be capable of killing this newly immortal
demon art, the clown. Yeah. So she's got this sword and she's going to art his kidnapped her brother
and taking him to the terrifyinger, which is why we're having the climax here. Right. So she's got her
magic sword and she's going to go get art at this terrifyinger. Yeah. So she goes and they have their
big battle in the in the climactic, haunted house, the scene. Everybody else gets murdered. Yeah.
All the friends get murdered. Yep. Yep. Everybody's friends mom. Her mom is dead. Yeah. Everybody is
dying. At one point, one of her friends, boyfriends who has driven them to the haunted house, so driven
in the car. He gets his dick ripped off. He gets his dick torn off. Yeah. Which is the first time we see
dick gore, but not the last. Yes. That's right. More dick gore is coming. But yeah. So now everybody
else is dead except are it's Sienna and her brother and art and the hallucinated little girl. Yeah.
And they have a fight and Sienna is just getting fucked up by art. And at one point, he stabs her
and then like pushes her into a pit, which may or may not be hell. She's in like a Houdini water
yeah exactly. She's she's trapped in a in a glass cage of water and she's drowning and it's the
clown cafe from her dream right all around her outside of this case and she is stuck in there
and her brother is like screaming for her and at some point, she's magically able to free herself
from this glass case. Yeah. And the wound that was inflicted on her stomach by the magic sword
magically heals itself. Because the sword cannot hurt her because she's not art the clown or something.
I don't know. But she free herself from the glass case and then she goes and she rescues her brother
and she slices arts head off and you know, the day is saved. Right. And I did there was one point where
the brother wakes up from being passed out and art is like munching on his foot. Oh yeah. And I
thought that was kind of gross. Yeah. Yeah. That part. Yeah. And also the little girl clown pops up
periodically to help art. Right. Right. But yeah. But is she real? Like I think so because don't they
explain that art like murdered a little girl? I don't know that art murdered a little girl.
But that little girl was murdered or something. He had died at the haunted house, I think, something
like that. I don't think that it was art that killed her. But like her death coincided with his
rampage or his resurrection or something. I was really hoping to see some a lot more companionship
stuff between the girl and art. I thought that would have been fun. Yeah. I mean, they were kind
of setting that up at the beginning. Yeah. Like you said, the girl is like a really creepy addition
to the movie. Yeah. So I just wish that more had been done with her. Yeah. But yeah, I can't even
really understand what the hell she's doing in the movie. Other than just providing cutaway shots
to a creepy thing. Yeah. And she helps a little bit. Yeah. She helps throughout. Yeah. So art is
eventually decapitated. The final girl survives. The guy, her brother survives too. Her brother survives too.
And you know, we've made it. The all is well in the world or whatever, even though everybody else is
dead, even though their mom is dead, if everything's fine. And then so the movie can't just end because,
we got to stay tuned for terrifier two at the end of the first one. Yeah. And now we get a stay
tuned for terrifier three at the end of this one. After art has been decapitated, we cut to a mental
institution where the woman, the disfigured woman who is the soul survivor at the end of the last
movie is confined to a padded room. Right. And the orderly at the hotel comes to check on her. And she's
screaming. And she is bleeding out of her vagina, right? profusely. Right. And writing words all over
the walls. And, you know, and we get a scream. And I think that's where this one ends, right? We don't
exactly see what happens until the beginning of the third one. Is that right? Am I remembering that
right? I don't know. I'm not sure. But stay tuned because either at the end of this movie or at the
beginning of the next one, we will find out what is going on with this woman. Yeah. But yeah. So
this is once again, it's just a teaser. This one's actually post credits. There's a post credit
scene. Did you recognize the the male? Oh, I certainly did because he looked like a wrestler today.
Oh, that is 100% true. I didn't know who it was. But I'm like, there's a security guard in the mental
institution that comes on. And I saw his name in the opening credits. And I was like, where the hell was he?
I was waiting for him to show off the entire movie. It is pro wrestling legend Chris Jericho. Oh,
Chris Jericho. That's right. One of one of the all time greats of professional wrestling.
All right. Who is in this movie for reasons.
I'm guessing he's just a big fan for a maybe. But yeah. So that's basically terrifying or two.
It seemed like a cliche fest, a sequel for a man who loves terrible sequels, I guess. That's
what it seems like to me. A love letter to a hell razor free and other movies of that ilk. Yeah.
I thought this was a little better than the first one. Yeah. I thought it was a little better. I
thought it was a little better made. I thought that at least there was a story. Not a great one,
but a story. Yeah. And art was art. Yeah. Art was art. So what will you give this one, Ken? Is it a
past pirate pay for you? And so this one for me is is a hard pass. Oh, really? A whole pass,
a pass. Yes. Nothing redeemable about this movie to be entirely unnecessary. Okay. And yeah.
I'm pretty sure this is considered to be the best of the franchise. Is that true? Part two,
yeah. Okay. So far at least. Yeah. I could not agree less. I feel like the first one was leaps
and bounds ahead of this one. Wow. Yeah. I am the opposite. I'm a pirate on this one. Yeah.
Wow. Yeah. I'm a pirate. Wow. Okay. I was not unentertained. All right. And for the first one,
I was I was drifting. Huh. Yeah. There was nothing keeping me there. A total opposite reaction
for me. I could not. I mean, like I said, the bloated link of this movie is is it was pretty long.
I think I took two swipes at it. Yeah. I just I just couldn't believe how long the movie was.
I couldn't believe that it just kept going and going. It's just so, so flabby. Just it needed.
It needs an editor. But yeah, once once they realize once I'm guessing Damien Lee,
we won't Leon was giving something of a black blank check for this one. All right. So that's it.
That is terrifying to terrify or two.
So let's drive this boat home. Can okay? It's drive this bloody gory boat home in terrifier
three. It is now time for terrifier three and in terrifier three, it's Christmas time. It's
Christmas time. We the last two took place during Halloween. Yep. Yep.
They were a year apart the first and second. Now we're five years down the road. Yep. But before we
get there, we have to pick up where the where the last one left off. Right. In the mental institution.
And we see Vicki, the woman with the fucked up face. Right. And she's bloody and screaming. And
we're like, what's going on here? And eventually it becomes apparent what's going on, which is
after art has been decapitated with the magic sword by Sienna at the other's movie. His head
now magically has appeared in the birth canal of Vicki. And she is giving birth to art. This
woman with this horribly fucked up face is crapping out this art head. That's right. So the orderly
of the mental institution comes into the padded cell and she is staring at Vicki like what the
hell is going on here? And as this is happening, Vicki is giving birth to the head of art. And
at one point, Vicki is standing there and there is an umbilical cord attached to her from her
to art's head. It needs nutrients. Oh, right. And then they kill the orderly and art's head is
just munching and munching on the leg and the neck. I can't remember munching on this woman. I think
it both are. Yeah. And then yes, exactly. Yeah. Vicki and art's head are both munching on this woman.
Yeah. And because they need nutrients. Yeah. And then notified by the screams, we get security guard
Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho to the rescue comes in. He's going to see what's going on. And Vicki,
she starts like saying he made me do it. I guess referring to art's head, you know, help me help me
help me. And he's saying a little confused. I don't know if I believe this woman, she looks
very freakish or whatever. And while he's pondering what's going on, she attacks him. And
you know, just obliterates his face as art and her are both what we want to do. Teres off his jaw.
Yep. Yep. Yep. Just just rips him apart. Yeah. And we're off to the race. And we're going again.
So yeah. So now it's Christmas. Oh, yeah. So there's a thing that happens with art and Vicki
and they wind up in this creepy old house and which I thought was funny. I thought the transition
because art's body needed to get to the insane asylum, right? Right. So a cop finds the body. Yep.
Yep. And art decapitates it and puts his own head, puts the cops head on his own body. So he can
get to and it's Halloween's everybody's given it a pass. Right. Right. So then they were so eventually
art in his head are reunited. Yeah. And they're on the subway. Yeah. And there's a guy dressed up as
Arthur. These little scenes in between are my favorite. They really are. There's a guy on the subway
dressed as Arthur clown. And he's like, man, what a great costume. You make my costume look like shit.
And he's like taking pictures. Yeah. He's like, you guys are great. Yeah. He's a really good.
They're all covered in blood. Yep. Yep. So oh, and when they get to the creepy house, art has a
clean new outfit. Yeah. Right. He murdered killed the guy on the subway. That's hard. It's a clean
outfit. That's like, that's like, that's like his little running gag every movie. How he gets a new
clean outfit. Yeah. So they go to this haunted house and I mean, it's not haunted. It's a creepy old
house, whatever. Yeah. And Vicki looks at her, just figured face in the mirror and she's like, no
one's ever going to want to fuck me. This is terrible. Yeah. She lays down in a bathtub and slits
her wrists and then five years go by. And art just sits in a rocking chair in front of a window. Yep.
And five years go by. And the next time we see them, it's these dudes from a house cleaning or
moving company or something. I think it's a wrecking. Oh, man. Maybe they're going to get,
yeah, they're going to demolish the house or something. And we just see that they have not
moved a muscle in five years and there's like growth on them. And then the guys from the
destruction company are summarily dispatched by a newly awakened art and Vicki. Yeah. In art fashion.
Right. Exactly. But yeah, now it's Christmas time and they really lean hard on the Christmas. Oh,
oh, yeah. And the first sign we get of this, there's a house and a family and a little girl comes
into her parents bedroom and she's like, I heard something on the roof. And the mom's like, oh,
there's nothing on the roof. She's like, no, I heard something on the roof. Yeah. And the mother
tells this story about how it's probably Santa's elves who have come early to make sure that the
house is structurally secure enough to land the reindeer on or something like that. But we know better.
We know. We know what movie we paid for. Exactly. We got it's art. Heart is on the roof.
And it's that long before art is in the house. And the little girl is talking about
leaving cookies out for Santa or for the elves or whatever. Yeah. And then the little girl is the
first one to see art. He is now dressed as Santa Claus, which we find out how that happened a little
later. Uh-huh. But she sees Santa, Santa art. And she decides to go hide from him, probably out of
very reasonable fear. Yeah. Yeah. And it's not long before art has murdered her brother and her both
her parents in, you know, typical art fashion. Uh-huh. And then he does the dishes. He does. And while this is
going on, he eats the cookies and does the dish. Oh, that's right. He also he's dunking the cookies in the milk.
And he's got a big grin on his face. He's clearly very much enjoying himself. And all the while,
while this is happening, Oh, come all you faithful is playing on the soundtrack. And it's very
Christmasy. And this scene ends with art opening up a little kitchen cabinet and seeing the little girl
hidden inside there. And we're left to wonder does art let this little girl live or does he kill her?
Because we don't, we yes. And she does not make it. Yeah. You never know. I mean, maybe he's the
Grinch and she's Cindy Luhu. Maybe, you know, I don't know. No, no, but we don't get to see it. We
don't see what art does to this little girl. No. And I actually read somewhere that this was a,
like crossing the Rubicon, fucking up kids. Oh, yeah. Yeah, like murdering children because they don't
usually do that in movies. Oh, right. Yeah. You know, it's, and that's a thing that a lot of people stay
away from. And this was like, nope. Yep. We're going there. Yeah. There's, there's a Hitchcock movie from
the 30s called sabotage. And there's a scene where a little kid has a is given a package and it's
got a bomb on it. And he gets on a bus and the bomb explodes. And everybody was completely mortified.
Then he'll do this thing. And this movie does the same thing. Same thing because there's no
much. Yeah. There's a scene where art clause is in the mall and he comes and he's he he's got a
giant sack. I mean, the transition from art to Santa is pretty easy, right? They both have sacks.
But they, that they're slaying over their shoulders. I got a little nightmare before Christmas vibe
here where he kind of really wanted to be Santa. Right. You know, he was excited to see him in the bar,
you know. Yeah. So art is in the mall dressed as Santa and he comes and the kids come and they sit
on his lap. This time in his sack instead of knives. He's got toys. Yeah. A little girl gets a doll like
Jack Skellington. Yeah. Yeah. And the kids are so happy and the parents are like, I don't know why
they they're not noticing that it's art. Right. And also the Santa suit has some blood all over it.
And a beard that has been ripped off of a well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, we got into that. But yeah.
So one of the one of the toys that a kid gets is a box and it's all wrapped up and the kids like,
oh, what's it? I wonder what I got. And you know, he's joyfully unwrapping the box and then just
disease about to we're about to see what's inside of it. The entire mall department is exploded. Yeah.
The kids are all the kids are around the bomb. Yeah. All of what their presence and stuff. They all
get exploded. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So art gets his Santa suit in a kind of very much art kind of way.
This might have been my favorite scene in the movie. Yeah. So there's a bar and there's a Santa
clause guy. The scene opens for reasons I can't really understand with these two beautiful women
like hanging on this this mall Santa. Yeah. Like like Joe. They're all, you know, oh, I can't do
anything with you ladies. Mrs. Claus would get very upset or whatever. This is like why are these
women hanging on this guy who knows is just the faddle dude with a graveyard. And Clint Howard is
in this scene. That's there's there's two cameos that I know well three with Chris. But there were two
that I know is Clint Howard is one of us. Yeah. So be movie hero. Right. Exactly. I guess he would fit
in like like a glove with Howard must also just be a huge fan of a terrifying. Yeah. And vice versa.
Oh, yeah. I think the I think the director is probably because this is the whole terrifying thing is
an homage to the VHS you found in the bargain bin. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm guessing. I'm guessing Clint
Howard probably said, Hey, I really love your movies and Damien Leon was just like, are you serious?
Come be in my movie. Oh, absolutely. And it could have gone the other way too. Right. Yeah. Yeah. So
it's Clint Howard and it's guy in a Santa suit and a bartender and they're at this bar and
seems like the bar is getting ready to close. It's coming up on Christmas and then all of a sudden
here comes art and he sees Santa in the window. And he sees Santa and he is so happy. He is a lady. He
art loves Santa Claus. He just loves him. At one point he's sitting on Santa's lap and he's just
looking and he takes Santa's hat and puts it on his own head and he's just like he loves he's so
excited to see Santa. Yeah. And then he peace himself art. Well, he's on the lap. He's on Santa's lap.
And Santa gets very, very upset by this. He gets real mad. So he starts looking like he's going to fight
art and then art pulls out a gun and he shoots the bartender and Clint Howard. Yep. And now it's time
for Santa to pay for getting upset with art. Yep. And art has created this weapon which is a liquid
nitrogen fire extinguisher. Yeah. Where he spray it and freeze you. Yeah. So he sprays. He's got Santa
tied up in a chair and he sprays his legs with the liquid nitrogen and his legs in his arms with
the liquid nitrogen. Yeah. And then takes a hammer and starts smashing him. Shattering and there's
weird gelatin blood because it's part frozen. Yep. And Santa screaming and then art freezes his face
and then he smashes his face and then art knows that he's going to be dressed as Santa. He's fulfilling
a lifelong dream or whatever. He puts a Santa suit on before he kills the Santa. Yeah, exactly.
But the Santa outfit is not complete unless he has a beard. Of course. So he takes the frozen liquid
nitrogen face of the Santa Claus guy who's gray beard is real. And he just peels it right off
and sticks it on his own face. Yeah. So now for the rest of the movie art will be wearing this guy's
face. There's his jaw line with his beard on it. Yeah. Yeah. This is fleshy beard. Yeah. And that's
that's how art has gotten his Santa suit. Yeah. And I thought that was a fun scene. I like the whole scene.
Yeah. So then after this after all this intro stuff, we get back to Sienna from the second movie.
And we have learned that she's been in a mental institution in and out, I think. Yeah. And she's
in at this point. And she's after she gets out of the mental institution, she's staying with
her aunt and uncle and their daughter and the daughter kind of idolizes Sienna to know that she's
think she's the greatest. But Sienna is in and out of these mental institutions because she is
hallucinating. She keeps seeing images of art the clown everywhere or her dead friends who have been
killed by art did. Yeah. And she's got this whole thing where she can't really tell what's real and
what's not like an American werewolf and London vibe kind of happened in with their one day. Yep. Yep.
But she's clearly traumatized from the events of the previous movie, which is totally understandable.
Yeah. But here she is. And the movie decides that it's going to lean into more of the so in the
previous movie she was dressed as an angel and the movie decide and she the movie decides to
take this even further where she is going to be the savior who is she's the only one who can save
everyone from art. Right. She is the chosen one and we get flashback scenes from her and her dead
father from before the events of the last movie. And you know, it's like showing how she gets her
angel costume. And she's like she's the one. Right. And if the previous movie was giving you
Nightmare and Elm Street vibes, which is clearly what it was riffing on. This movie is clearly
riffing on the exorcist because art is in this movie accompanied by Vicki who it is eventually
revealed is possessed by some sort of demon. And she is like the crow, I guess, accompanying art and
giving him his maniacal powers. Yeah. And so they're they're quite the tandem in this movie. Right.
And Sienna is she's the only one who could stop them. And this movie is so fucking Jesusy.
Like did you notice that? I didn't. It is Jesus all over the place. Like there's Christmas
music all throughout the movie, right? Right. But notice that. But it's all of the Jesusy is of the
Christmas music. It's like oh, holy night and oh, come all you faithful. Well, yeah, well, because
those are the creepiest ones, I think. I don't know. There is a if you're going to pick creepy music.
It's going to be religious music. Like frosty, the snowman wouldn't be nearly as creepy. Yeah.
Well, I don't know. Depends. But there's also a scene in the church where Sienna is talking
to her brother and there and he's revealing to her that that her father may have chosen her to be the
one. Like and at the end where Sienna is fighting art and the demon Vicki. That one point Vicki takes
a thorn of a crown of thorns. Yeah. And puts it on. Yeah. He's had it. I did notice that. Yeah. And
at some point when art is killing someone, he takes a stake and drives it through the guy's hand. Oh,
and there the crucifix one guy. And yeah, he cuts off somebody's head and puts it on top of a circle. Yep.
And then crucifies the body and leaves the crucified body hanging on the wall, which comes into play
during the last fight. Yeah. So the end fight scene between Sienna and art and Vicki. Uh-huh. It felt
like it felt like a demon possession movie because she has to not only kill art. She has to possess
Sienna. Yeah. So yeah, the Vicki is trying to possess Sienna, but Sienna is still too strong. So
she's killing everyone that Sienna loves. Take away all her hope. Yeah. Yeah. So she kills her brother
and she kills her aunt and uncle and then she's about to kill the niece. This scene is totally
ridiculous, right? So at some point during the movie, Sienna has to go retrieve the magic sword
from the haunted house, the terrifying, right? From the previous movie and she does so her aunt and
uncle think she's crazy. So she can't just bring the sword into the house otherwise they're going to
be like, Oh, let's with this crazy girl. Yeah. She wraps it up like a Christmas present, right? And
puts it underneath the Christmas tree. Uh-huh. And all everybody is saying that this sword is the only
thing that can slay the demon, right? And at one point, the demon has Sienna in a chair. And
art is there being menacing and Sienna is totally neutralized and they're about to kill the niece
when the niece is like, Oh, I didn't get to open my Christmas present. And the demon at some
just just decides, Oh, well, that's a reasonable request. And she tastes the sword, which is the only
thing that can kill her and gives it to Sienna. Well, they smash our hands up first, right? Which
doesn't affect anything. Doesn't really affect our tics of hammer to Sienna's hands, both of them.
And then for the rest of the movie, Sienna's hands are completely unaffected. She's just wielding
the sword and is doing whatever she needs to with her hands. So there's no reason for it. It's
kind of ridiculous to complain about plot holes in a terrifying movie, the third terrifying movie.
But like, but it seems like they're trying though. That's why we're complaining about it.
In the first movie, they didn't try. Yeah, they didn't care. Right. It was just seen after
scene of the scene of gross art declans. But now they're trying. And I don't think they have the
capability, like you said, yeah, to pull pull that off. And so, but I appreciate the effort. I don't.
I do not. I wish I do appreciate the effort. I just you go through all of this work to tell
that Sienna is the only one who can kill Vicki and the only way she can do it is with the sword.
And then we have the demon Vicki give the sword to Sienna. It's like, what the fuck are you doing?
This is totally insane. It is. It was. Yeah, you're right. But yeah. So eventually,
so Sienna gets free from the from the chair with her smash hands that don't get smashed.
There doesn't really. And she got the sword. And she kills Vicki and she kills art. And then the
niece is sucked into a portal to hell. Sienna tries to save her, which she falls down the magic sword.
And now Sienna's got nothing. Yeah. And she's got no one left. And this is how the movie ends.
And Sienna vows to save the niece wherever she might have gone when she gets sucked into this portal.
Yeah, setting up our sequel, setting up the next movie, which spoiler alert, I will not be seeing.
I don't think I will leave. I have watched my last terrifying movie. That is a guarantee.
I don't think I would guarantee that camera. Oh, really? That's what we're going to get into our
bonus segment. Oh, God. I can't wait. But is that that's the end, right? No, I just want to say
a couple more things. Okay. So as I said, the thing I liked best in the first movie was arts humor.
Yeah. And it seems as though they recognize this and they try to do more of it in the sequels.
But what it's reduced to by this third movie, I mean, somewhat in the second movie, but really in
this third one is every time art is killing someone, he's just cracking up. Yeah. Like all he is doing
is laughing at his own antics. And that's the way that they're lightning it in these in these movies.
And like, that's just not funny. It's totally losing the impact of the fun stuff. And like, like I said,
they've seen in the first movie with the horn. I think he realized that that was really funny.
Yeah. So now art is given a horn to honk in every movie. Uh-huh. But he's just not doing it in
ways that are breaking any tension. So it's totally not worthwhile in any way. Yeah. And it's not
reinventing itself. It's, yeah, retreading. And also, like these movies seem to confuse
gory with scary. Like, yeah, this movie, neither of the sequels are scary to me at all. They're just gross.
It's the same thing that happened with the Freddie movies. Yeah. Like, you know, Freddie was scary
in the first one. And that was it. Yeah. And it's just gross. It's like, it's really disgusting. And
the returns are so diminishing for me where it's just like, how many times can you watch someone's
face get smashed in or somebody's scalp get pulled away from their skull or some intestines suck
falling out of someone's stomach onto the floor? Like, it just keeps doing the same shit over and
over again. Yeah. And it totally loses any impact it might have had. I just, I don't understand
what the point of these movies is. Like, I don't, maybe there are people who just see this gory
shit happening. And he's like, ah, it's amazing. And yeah. And that's just what I don't get is the
incredibly high tomato scores. Yeah. I, who are these critics? They're, they're really high. And I
haven't read any of the reviews. I didn't want to like, taint myself or anything. Yeah. So I haven't
read any of the reviews, but they are in the 70s, 80s. I'm so blown away by this. Who are these
critics? And like, another thing is like, I think you like the first one. Yeah. Because the first
one got to pay. And the first one's good, I think, but these movies and as they become more and more
outlandish, they keep asking us to invest more and more emotionally in these characters. And
I just like, what are you doing? Well, who could possibly care about these people? I don't

plays sex machine for not sex machine, which Quentin Tarantino is probably a massive fan.

Yeah. I definitely caught him, but I didn't know what his name was. Yeah. I just like, Oh, that's
sex machine. Right. So another thing is I'm a massive practical effects fan. Yeah. And I,
I don't know if there's any CG at all in this. Yeah. I don't think so. If there is, it's maybe
blood spatters or stuff, but like the makeup and the blood, I love that. I love that there's
someone out there making a practical effects movie. Yeah. Yeah. I definitely am with you on
practical effects. I think it's a really good idea, but I think you need a movie to go along with it.

the, the, if you just cherry pick the scenes, yeah, the gaur scenes, they're good. They're,
they're solid practical effects and they're gross and fun. Yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah. For me, yeah.

It's a good movie. I hit by any standard. No doubt. Right. It brought in four times nearly four times.
Yeah. What it cost to make? Okay. Okay. So now you're going to guess. Okay. The budget. I'm
going to tell you the budget for terrifying or one in 2016. Okay. The budget was $35 grand.
Nice. Okay. It was a low budget shit movie. Yeah. Probably nobody expected this. Right. Right.
It only opened in a few markets. Yeah. It, uh, worldwide. It only opened in like Russia and China,
I think. Okay. You know, yeah. What do you think was the box office for terrifying one? Okay.
Terrifier one had to do well enough for there to be sequels. Uh, I will guess the terrifying made
five million dollars. Okay. Your way off. Wow. Okay. Your way off. It made $419,000. Oh,
shit. Which is still good. That's a huge return. That is 11 times. Yeah. What it cost to make. Wow.
So when you compare those two, like, yeah, it didn't make a whole shitload of money. Yeah. But if
if you're a producer, you go, I made a massive return on my investment. Yeah. Yeah. Why not give
this guy another chance? Sure. And give him a little more money. Okay. Terrifier too. I forget when it
came out. Uh, but the budget on that was $250 grand. Okay. Okay. How much? Very cheap. Nice.
Still very cheap. How much should it make of the box office? All right. So I will once again
guess five million dollars 15 million. Oh, $740,000. Holy shit. It slayed 63 times. Holy
what it cost to make 63 times. So that is a over the moon hit. Yeah. Right. Over the moon.
It's cost dirt to make and made out shitload of money. That's crazy. Terrifier three. Uh-huh.
Guess how much a budget was? Okay. I will say 900,000. Two million dollars. Whoa. That second one was
such a smash. Whoa. They gave him two million dollars. And I could tell. Could you? I could tell.
It was not shot like a porn movie anymore. The lighting was better. The scenes were shot better.
Wow. It was just a little. It wasn't a lot, but it was a definite marked improvement. Yeah. I did not
notice it. I did not notice a difference between two and three. I totally did. I totally couldn't
really see it. Couldn't really see it except for clean Howard salary. Two million dollars.
So far. What do you think it has made? And it's still in theaters still making money.
Yeah. Still going. Probably through Christmas. I'm guessing. Wow. Uh-uh. I will say it has made
30 million so far. So far worldwide. Yeah. All of these have been worldwide. So far the box office is

That is incredible. That's why I think we'll be seeing these movies for eons. Yeah. I agree with you
except when you use the word we if you're including me into that. I mean the royal week. Yeah.
Right. Cause like I said, I so you don't know though. These movies are so successful. They could have
some weird reinvention down the line. Yeah. Uh Christopher Nolan could do one. You know.
It's happened with other genres. Oh my god. Three directors pick up on this and they
use this character that everybody loves. Idris Elba could play art. You know, or Daniel De Lewis.
Yeah. And until we get until we get Kelly Reichert's terrifier six, I don't think I'm going to be too
